The TIE/ln starfighter was a small, short-range fighter developed, manufactured, and mass produced by Sienar Fleet Systems. With both a weak attack & defense, ships of this class are designed to be fielded in mass to overwhelm by sheer numbers.

It was pretty much the only thing these had going for them. Well that & being pushed out in massive waves.

there is a reason the empire mass produced these things, and yet the rebels could take them on fairly decently with fewer x-wings... I'd almost argue their offense was worth a 2, but it's not a big thing, since in swarms they'll add up....
