Ever since the Conclave had fallen and she had slain her master, Elarinya had assumed the title of Warmaster over the Grey Fleet. She'd trained, focused her power, and prepared her forces for the inevitable encounter she was leading them toward. Although she had no interest in being Quantum's toy assassin, Experiment #V41FR was the one thing that would bind her to them. She would prove she was superior to him and then she would hunt down every last member of Quantum and eradicate them. They could assume new guises all they wanted, but she would find them.
The Amarth appeared out of hyperspace first, as Elarinya moved to the front viewport and looked out upon the Star Pyramid, the Star Cathedral, and the Space-Whale that seemed to be circling both. This is where she would bring an end to V41FR. The rest of the Grey Fleet appeared from Hyperspace arrayed around and behind the Amarth based on their best role positions. The Carriers sat behind the front lines, while the Gladiator's and destroyers were that frontline with the Amarth.
Starfighters were soon being launched from across the Fleet, forming swarms of starfighters in preparation for what was about to happen next. Elarinya stood at the front viewport as a technician opened a comm link over various frequencies to guarantee the most success. She would at least give him a chance to surrender himself first, even if she was certain he would refuse :: Experiment V41FR, surrender yourself to me, and I promise to deliver a swift and merciful death upon you. Refuse and I will not hesitate to attack and then I will make your death an unpleasant experience... :: Although she was about to enter in to battle, Elarinya was clad in her casual clothing, having forsaked her Combat Armour for the duel to come. She would give him a moment to decide, before heading down to her ship to make her way over to wherever V41FR was located

He'd studied a vast array of arcane and alchemical matters in his life, there were somethings which eluded his understanding. The whale-ship known as Shemona was one of them. She was, predictably, one of the Dark Apothecary's... ships? creations? He wasn't entirely sure. But the space whale definitely seemed typical of anything originating from the Barabel, in that she had a great number of quirks. Not least of which was her affection toward the Felstorm. If his capital ship looked more animal like and not a space traversing Pyramid, he might have understood somewhat. But this would remain a mystery.
Regardless, he was at least somewhat glad for the whale-ships presence as the fleet of ships started appearing in out of hyperspace. The Disturbance in the Force having grown stronger and more pressing before silencing itself as the War Galleon had appeared in system. Someone was aboard that ship that shared some connection to him. A connection that was very quickly revealed as a female of the Sith species with long black hair appeared on a holoprojector upon the bridge of the Star Cathedral and addressed him by his Experiment designation. Quantum.
He could scarce recall the number of years that had passed since he'd been rescued from that shadow organization and their cloning experiments. But he'd managed to elude them for years. But now it appeared they had finally tracked him down. Or rather, their lap dog had managed to. If she expected him to go quietly, she would be sorely mistaken. Orders were already being transmitted to the Felstorm and the Surface. The Ion Cannons down below were already working to take aim upon the ships above. Valefor then opened a comm line back :: It's Lord Valefor, Fabricator-General of the Greater Roon Imperial Remnant. I advise you to stand down, little one. It will be a cold day in Chaos before a lapdog of Quantum bests me... ::

Smearing the outer transparasteel of the Star Cathedral as she attempted to peer inside with one very large glowing orange eye, Shemona's animal senses prickled, and not just from the continuous jolts of electricity painfully stinging her nervous system at regular intervals as the rat men on her back fought for control. With a swish of her frigate sized tail, she propelled her armoured body away from the station and turned, staring across the cold vacuum at the Grey Fleet that had appeared. Only semi-sentient, her capacity to understand what was happening was obviously hampered, but her beast instinct was able to comprehend the gist of it. She let out another void rattling moan as she faced down what she perceived as a pack of predators moving towards her mate and its offspring that had boarded the station.Phwargh! Her moan was so loud it caused the deck plates of the Star Cathedral to rattle. Odd, since sounds doesn't travel in a vacuum, but I digress. Her massive jaws parted to reveal a wide maw full of mineral dense teeth, used for mulching up asteroids in search of delicious exogorths, a staple of her diet. They seemed to shimmer like stars in her mouth, revealing embedded heavy metals like nickel and ultrachrome. Her aggressive change of behaviour agitated the flock of mynocks nesting in her mouth, causing a stream of the silicon based avians to pour from her maw, flying about a gaseous mist that steamed from her jaws. From his seat in the bridge tower, the tallest structure emerging from the armoured harness attached to Shemona's back, Vermin Lord Gritlok Scarpaw and his fellow space-rats panicked as their sensors warned of incoming starfighters. Having never intended to be here in the first place, the rodents had no idea what the hell was going on or why the newly arrived fleet was squaring off with the Felstorm and the station. One thing that was clear though was that the Felstorm and its crew were allies. Since they were already here, it would behoove them to assist.PA System: All storm vermin to their battle-stations. Hurry-scurry and launch Fang squadrons! Unconventionally designed, the whale-ship was also unconventionally armed. Its defenses consisted mainly of the armoured plates of Shemona's control harness, though spread across its spine like towers and various blister pods were an array of point-defense lasers. Like a porcupine shedding its quills, emerald green bolts of energized gas erupted from her back to fill the vacuum around her with hot laser. Warlock Enginseers in lead lined rubber suits swiveled around on gyroscopic gunner seats, each mange infested ranat controlling the targeting for a singular defense laser. Shemona beat her powerful tail, picking up speed as she headed towards the Gladiator to the Amaranth's starboard side.

:: So be it, Lord Valefor... Don't say I did not offer you an out... :: She cut the comm link just as the massive Whale-Ship turned from the Star Cathedral and started across the void towards the Grey Fleet. A couple squadrons of Elduath-class Interceptors and Talon-class Starfighters were already on the move to intercept the Fang fighters whilst working to avoid the stream of laser energy filling the space around Shemona. The Aegnor, being the projected target, started to move downwards with the Goenor following in pursuit as backup. Their Turbolasers and Ion Cannons started opening fire as soon as the Whale-Ship got within range. Faroth's I & II also moved to intercept the incoming vessel, their helms aimed directly toward the harness and their front facing flak cannons unloading a volley.
The Minohtar and Elfaron split from the Amarth's opposite side and moved up and over the War Galleon, followed by the Esgal's I-IV toward the Felstorm. The pair of Gladiator III's firing a salvo at the Star Pyramid, while the Ajunta-Class Frigate's worked to screen incoming fire. Bombers moved to make runs against the massive ship, with Starfighters and Interceptors working to keep enemy fighters of of them. This left the Amarth and the Faroth's III & IV to move in upon the tar Cathedral whilst avoiding the Whale-Ship coming from that same direction.
As Turbolasers, Ion shots, and Laser fire filled the void, Elarinya had left the bridge of the Amarth and loaded up into the Duath. It probably seemed odd for a Wayfarer-class Medium Transport to be launching from the War Galleon, but it stood the best chance of survival across the void and into the hangar bay of the Star Cathedral. Transports were already crossing the void from various parts of the fleet, some heading for The Felstorm, some for the Surface, and others for the Cathedral to backup their Master. Ela would end this here and now

A small smile crossed his face as the deck plates vibrated beneath his hooves while the Whale-Ship swam through the void toward the incoming fleet. The Felstorm and the Star Cathedral were arguably outmatched by the number of forces his opponent had brought, but Shemona and the Ion Cannons upon the surface were going to prove uniquely pivotal. Starfighters from the Ship and Station flew out of their hangars to meet those of their enemies while shields were raised up to act as a bulwark. Energy fields rippled as the attack began, absorbing the damage as both space born vessels returned fire, sending all manner of armament back. Crews upon the surface sighted in the Ion Cannons upon three separate targets and fired three ion shots up and at the Gladiator III's.
Valefor's attention was turned toward the War Galleon then as a Wayfarer-class ship emerged from it and crossed the void between the two sides and made for the main hangar bay of the Star Cathedral. She was certainly making every effort to get to him. If she wanted to die, he would happily entertain her madness. He took a turbolift up from the command centre to the observation deck high atop the station. Meanwhile the small command crew locked the station down such that the only path forward would lead from the hangar bay to a turbolift and up to the observation deck. There would be no point trying to slow her down and letting her try find her way would just waste his own time. Every display along the path was turned to a security feed showing Valefor waiting upon the upper most deck. His attention looking out across the battle that was underway whilst muttering through preparation spells

With the Aegnor and the Goenor now returning fire as they descended on the vertical plane, their turbolaser and ion fire was directed at Shemona's unguarded belly, where the control harness strapped to her back didn't cover. Her thick silicon based hide, not so different than the vacuum tolerant skin of an exogorth, was insulated enough to weather the crackling currents of the ion blasts without issue. Not to mention she was used to it, what with the space-rats living in her back-harness regularily using electrical shocks to control her. The turbolaser fire was another matter, however, as it bit into her exposed belly and left blistering welts across her flesh. The whale-ship groaned in pain, slowly rotating clockwise in the void as she turned her back towards the continuing fire.
Her harness, essentially a small city of spine like towers and encapsulated domes, had been crafted from the excess materials from a decommissioned Victory-class Star Destroyer. Its armoured hull plates had been crafted from havod alloy, forged in the manufactorums of the mobile platform known as Nomad City on the charred hell-scape of isolated Nkllon. While the material lacked the sheer durability of doonium, it had a higher heat threshold, allowing it to absorb some of the incoming fire with minimal damage. That didn't stop the harness' hull from being compromised in places, as plasma opened bulkheads to vacuum and certain sections were depressurised, bleeding greasy furred ranats into the void where their internal organs ruptured out just about every orifice. Between the exchange of fire, and the snubfighters shrieking after one another between them, the void was an unpredictable storm of chaos and explosions.
Increasing the movement of her long tail and four massive fins, Shemona began to pick up speed, attempting to come around as she passed the two gladiators. Fang-class starfighters peeled away from her, now completely engaged with the Talons and Elduath interceptors. The cybernetically enhanced space-rats that flew them were all hooked up to IV lines pumping a steady supply of narcotics that would have made the heart explode of most sentient species, and would have done the same to the ranats as well, had those organs not been swapped out with superior mechanical replacements. It made them fly more erratically, more aggressive but less vested in their own well-being. The verminous pilots were practically feral, frothing at the snout, and it showed as their casualties mounted. Like the rodent pests they technically were, however, exterminating them completely seemed an impossible task. For every one blasted to scrap, another two poured out of hangars on either side of Shemona's back. How many there were was anyone guess.
Directing all of her bestial might towards speed, Shemona attempted a mid-space barrel roll to come around at the Aegnor's rear. Her jaws began to part as she got nearer, intent on taking a nibble of the hull where the port and stern sides met.

The trip across the void was bumpy and filled with danger, but the Duath survived it all and Elarinya set the transport down in the main hangar bay. She left the Transport in a powered state in the event she needed to make a hasty retreat either from the duel or because the station was compromised. She gripped the pair of saber hilts that hunt at her waist and held them at the ready as she descended the ramp. The power in the station shifted as she stepped off the landing ramp and the guiding lights lit up while the majority of the blast doors locked down Subtle... Very well Valefor... I'll play your game... She ignited the twin black cored, red bladed crossguard sabers and made her way across the hangar bay and through the corridors. The turbolift doors were open and waiting as she stepped in, before being propelled up through the Cathedral toward the apex. The ride up allowed her to focus upon the Force and draw upon its power, readying herself for the duel that was to come.
As soon as the turbolift doors opened, Ela sprang out of the enclosure and across several feet of the observation deck, gracefully sticking the landing in an upright position. With one blade pointing down, she raised the other to point toward Valefor. The barely contained energy crackling the air. The battle was raging around the Star Cathedral and was on full display as ships shot back and forth, large Ion blasts coming from the surface. Although she should have been concerned, her focus was upon the man before her. She had left capable commanders in charge to conduct this attack, it was their job to deal with the battle overhead Valefor! Nice of you to light that way. Just means your death shall come all the more swiftly... And then I will be free... Quantum will learn the consequences of their actions and be no more...

He finished chanting the last spell he needed for the fight as the turbolift doors swished open and he heard the sound of movement through the air. His attention was, for the moment, focused upon the battle overhead as the girl landed behind him and raised her saber toward him. Proclaiming his eminent death and the destruction of Quantum. The first part was arrogance of course, but the second statement was quite curious. It was not often someone working for or within an organization wanted to bring down that same group. But Quantum was also not exactly a typical group. Some within it were definitely coerced into service. But those that were, ended up being promptly disposed of once their usefulness reached an end I figured it would be better to draw you here, so that your defeat would come sooner. Besides, you might miss the defeat of your mighty fleet while you got lost in the bowels of this Star Cathedral... He lowered his gaze and turned around. His focus setting upon the female Sith opposite him. His new Amulet was worn on his left hand, while his right was seemingly unprotected except for the bracer he wore. But the currents of the Force flowed about him, magic focused upon several spells and runes This is your last chance child... Walk away. Go hunt down Quantum and settle your dispute with them. Even if you defeat me, they'll still dispose of what ever leverage they have against you and then they'll dispose of you... But I will not have my impending moment of triumph ruined by them or anyone that works for them...

She glanced up, watching the battle for a moment, but quickly turned her focus back to Valefor Rather arrogant of you to assume victory when my forces outnumber yours... As he turned around and stared at her, she lowered her saber. Shifting herself into a more combat ready stance as he prattled on about how she should leave and how Quantum would betray her as it had others. Something she would have been concerned about if she was working for them. She started circling around opposite Valefor, hoping to get closer to him I don't work for them. But so long as you still live, they will remaining in hiding. But with your death... I can draw them out. They'll feel safe again... She leapt through the air, her pair of sabers being drawn back and over the top of her right shoulder. Once close enough she would uncoil, swinging the blades in a wide sweeping arc at where Valefor should be standing

He let out a sigh as his opponent still seemed confident in her victory, whilst dismissing his confidence as arrogance. As she started circling around, he matched her pace in the opposite direction, keeping them equidistant apart as she prattled on about drawing Quantum out of the shadows to track them down. She had clearly learned nothing of the organisation if she thought her task would be so easy against either opponent. He came to a stop then, his hand opening as she leapt through the air and slashed at him. The metallic fingers of his gauntlet wrapped around both blades as he caught them with his hand and held tight Pathetic... You are nothing! A waste of what ever material they made you from... He balled up his right fist and drove it forward into her abdomen then, hoping to send the girl sprawling backward across the floor. He might not be a skilled blade-master, but his magic more than compensated for it when needed

His ability to catch both of her lightsabers in his gauntleted hand caught Elarinya off guard, stopping her mid motion. Her feet touched the ground as he taunted her, calling her a waste of material. She tried yanking the blades free, but his grip was too tight. Instead she deactivated the sabers, but before she could reactivate them again, his fist plowed into her stomach. She held tight to her saber hilts as she was thrown back across the floor and came to a stop in a crumpled heap. He was strong, so she would just have to be faster. Fast enough he could not simply grab her sabers.
She pushed herself up and spit out some blood, staining the metallic surface of the floor as she lifted her gaze back to Valefor. Murderous intent filling the air as she glared at him I am no waste... She pushed herself up onto her feet, feeling a dull ache emanate from her abdomen from where he had punched her. Her pair of sabers crackling to life once more The only waste here, is you... Father! She started to circle opposite him once again, spinning her blades in preparation for an attack or block They used some of you, to make me... Thought it would make me a better killer, binding us across the galaxy and drawing us together... But this thread ends here!

He was impressed by her tenacity, as she managed to draw herself up off the floor. He made to move toward her, to end her existence before she could fight once again, but was soon brought to a halt as she claimed he was her father. It gave him pause as he considered for barely a moment if Quantum would have been so cruel as to do this. But he already knew the answer before he asked the question. Yes, they would have created a child using his own material. Undoubtedly with some of the DNA they had not used to make him, but that which did exist of him within her would create such a bond as she described.
It was strange to think that just moments ago he had been ready to end her life. But now? Despite everything he was doing, everything he was working toward, and everything he had done, He wasn't sure he could bring himself to kill her. Even as she made clear her intention to end his life, he no longer had such a spark within himself. If she forced it down between him or her, he would save his own life. He reached out with the Force, testing her aura to check and confirm the statement she had made as he resumed circling opposite her A curious accusation... But one Quantum would certainly have pursued... This does not have to be the end. We can join forces and destroy Quantum together. I have no aversion to striking down those I need to. But you do not have to be one of them...

She kept her guard up, even as Valefor seemed to switch tact from being about to pulverise her, to trying to reason with her once more. But instead of trying to send her away, he was instead trying to convince her to join him? An odd change, undoubtedly inspired by the revelation of their connection. But she'd come too far and was dubious them joining together would achieve the goals she sought. She would merely be trading Quantum's influence for Valefor's Oh, so now you're interested in your own daughter?! It's too late for that... I will rid the galaxy of your existence and be free of you and them... She rushed at him again, striking her sabers from opposite sides. He only had one gauntlet, so he should only be able to guard in one direction. He certainly seemed too slow to dodge out of the way

Unfortunate... He came to a stop and stood his ground as she came rushing toward him. He grounded his stance to absorb the impact as her blades sliced through the air from opposite sides. Clearly she thought only his gauntlet would stop her sabers, an assumption she was about to find out was wrong. His left hand reached out and stopped one saber, one his right hand reached out and grabbed the other. The protective spells he had cast came into effect and kept the plasma blade off of his skin Surprise! He pulled on her blades, drawing her forward. His left hand released her saber and grabbed at her throat. His metallic fingers wrapping around her throat and lifting her up into the air. His grip slowly and steadily tightening We're the last of our kind, you and I... I had no idea you existed, and it brings me no joy to have to kill my own daughter... But you will not stop! So I shall stop you... And then I will reign down the same pain upon Quantum that they have delivered unto me this day...

As his hand wrapped around the blade she had smiled, expecting to slice through his palm. But that smile had quickly disappeared as the blade came to a stop. The action caught her off guard so much that she didn't have time to react as he pulled her forward and his hand encircled her throat and lifted her up. She clipped her saber hilts to her belt before reaching up and grabbing at his hand and wrist. Trying to support her weight through her arms so it was not focused upon her neck. As his grip tightened she could slowly feel her blood vessels and air way being closed off and would eventually start being crushed. She tried to strike out with her feet, but knew it would be futile. If he could block her blades, than her feet would unlikely to do anything. Despite the futility of her efforts, she still tried to fight and free herself
The naval battle outside the station had not ceased and firefights had been raging between the two sides. The pair of Adas-Class Carriers had been hit by Ion Cannon fire, followed by missiles or turbolaser fire from the Felstorm. The front end of the Daedeloth had been shorn off by the whale-ship. The Marr-Class Devastators and the Ajunta-Class Frigates had also lost several of their number to enemy fire or the belly of the beast. Faroth III, Esgal II, and Esgal IV were all the remained of the smaller ships. The Gladiator III-class Star Destroyers and the War Galleon had all taken heavy damage but were still holding out. The pair of Ajunta-Class Frigates made runs upon Shemona to protect the Aegnor as the whale-ship moved to try attack it once more.
Ground side, the focus of the Orzi had shifted upon taking control of one of the Ion Cannons as soon as the first volley had been fired. A mission they finally succeeded in accomplishing, before firing off a round up into the melee above. The blast tore up through the atmosphere and out into the void. Directly impacting the rear side of the Star Cathedral. The shields and guns shorted out immediately. The Faroth III meanwhile found itself on a collision course after a strafing run by some bombers had disabled the steering controls and the engines had gone into full power. The front end of the Marr-class struck and impacted through the lower arm of the station, before the reactor exploded, causing the ship to blow up and send shrapnel flying into the Cathedral

Ice fragments shook free from Shemon's snubfighter sized teeth and were expelled as trailing clouds of sparkling crystalized vapor as the whale-ship groaned and growled into the vacuum, shaking its massive head from size to side as it shook the piece of the Daedeloth clamped between its monstrous jaws. It spat the mashed up piece of hull into the void as two Ajunta-Class Frigates harried it like a pair of space jackals, their turbolaser fire taking bites from her armoured harness. In places havod plates blistered or turned white hot, superheated by enemy fire to the point where the metal began to run like flowing water into the frigid vacuum, flash freezing and breaking off to create a debris field of deadly shards each the size of a hutts fat head. Between the field and the overlapping point defense lasers lighting up the void around the space whale's backside like Coronet City during the invasion of Corellia, any starfighters attempting to run that gauntlet would soon find their shields depleted and their hull pelted with metallic shrapnel when their deflectors inevitably failed.
It was proving an equal challenge for the Fang-class starfighter squadrons that had spilled from Shemon'a back, despite the cybernetic and drug induced enhancements made to their quick reflexed rodent pilots. From his place in the command tower on the whale-ship's back, Gritlok counted on his paws the mounting loses. It wasn't looking good. They'd already expended most of the snubfighters they had received after the Black Fang had raided SoroSuub on Sullust. Sinking his long yellow fangs into his lip hard enough to draw a greasy bead of dark polluted blood, the Vermin Lord gripped the wheel shaped steering yoke in his powerful paws and spun it to one side, causing an electrical jolt to be released deep into Shemon'as nervous system.
While the whale-ship was perhaps not as practical a warship as a traditional mechanical dreadnought, lacking certain modern systems such as shields and a dedicated hyperdrive, it did possess a few traits unique to living organisms. For instance, while most warships had rigid hulls, the space whale's sinuous silicon based flesh could bend.
The resulting jolt to her system caused Shemona's long and powerful tail to thrash behind her, sweeping towards the prow of one of the Ajunta-class frigates as it raked her with fire on its pass, attempting to smash its tail fin into the other vessel like a battering ram. Following this, Gritlok Scarpaw spun the steering yoke the other way, eliciting another pain induced jerk from Shemona's that caused the space whale to attempt to drive its armour plated head into the side of the other Ajunta's engines as it passed.

His focus had been so locked upon his attacked, that the incoming danger of the Marr-class went unnoticed until the moment its prow impacted the Cathedral. The shockwaves of the strike and the resulting explosion shook the station, putting Valefor off balance and causing his grip upon the woman's neck to loosen. The floor rose up and fell down again, sending the pair sprawling across the room as power across the station fluctuated and various systems went offline. The lighting in the observation deck died out and was soon replaced by red emergency lighting. Shrapnel tore into the Cathedral, exposing pressurised sections to the vacuum of the void which caused alarms to sound.
Valefor managed to push himself to his feet as tremors shook the floor. His gaze rising up to the windows above where cracks were spider-webbing across the vast expanse of transparisteel. He could already hear the distinctive hiss as small cracks opened up to the outside and started venting Sudas... He muttered the curse under his breath in the ancient tongue of his people. The Star Cathedral was not in good shape and that hit had sealed its fate. His gaze then drifted over to where his attacker was laying sprawled out. His thoughts wondering what he should do: let her die for trying to kill him? or try and save her life cause she was his daughter? Both sides had equally strong arguments for doing nothing or doing something.
Eventually he growled in frustration as he got to his feet and moved across the room, scooping her up with one arm. He would curse what little good remained in him later as it won out. His free hand reached out and flung the turbolift doors open with the Force before barrelling into it. His fist slamming on the emergency descent controls causing the doors to snap shut as the roof finally shattered apart and the air was rapidly sucked from the observation deck. The pod then dropped down along the height of the Cathedral toward the hangar bay levels.
He used the Force to slow their descent then, bring the turbolift to a stop and allowing the breaks to engage so he could disembark with the girl in one arm. As he arrived back to the hangar bay he tossed her across the ground toward the ship she had arrived in whilst continuing on toward the transport he and his forces had arrived in. Doors were locking themselves down to prevent depressurization Wake up and be gone child! The fight is over and I will help you no further... He moved up into the transport then, the doors closing as it took off and sped from the hangar bay and made the trip across the void toward the Felstorm

As more and more of the fleet was smashed and the Star Cathedral was being torn apart, Domina Lysa made the call to order a retreat. The Starfighters were recalled back to the Amarth and Gladiator III's, With crews crowding as many fighters in as possible. Energy was diverted across the fleet to shielding systems to weather the incoming fire as the five capital ships pulled away from the fight and started making the jump to hyperspace. They had a pre-agreed upon meeting point where they would regroup and as each ship loaded up to capacity, they jumped to safety
She could feel herself slowly losing consciousness as his grip around her neck had tightened. The fight was all but gone by the time she was flung through the air and across the floor. At first she had thought he had discarded her prematurely, thinking he had killed her already. But through her hazy gaze she could just make out the cracking dome above and the escaping fleet. She felt the tremors in the floor and could faintly hear the whine of escaping gas. Even if her father had not killed her, it seemed like the failing state of the Cathedral was going to finish the job. Perhaps for him as well...
But before she could dwell on that melancholy for long, she could make out a large red shape and feel the strength of an arm wrapped around her torso lifting her up. She was doing her best to recover as fast as possible from being choked nearly to death, and as such was barely able to pay attention to the drop down through the station and being carried tot he hangar bay. But things came sharply back into focus as he tossed her down upon the floor near her ship and kept on his path to his own escape. She coughed and rubbed at her neck trying to check and clear her airways while glaring as he left. While she was grateful she was still alive, she resented him for saving her.
But she could not dwell on such thoughts for long, as she felt more tremors shake the Cathedral. Pulling herself to her feet, she stumbled her way up into the Duath and hurriedly launched it forth from the hangar bay and out across orbit just as the reactor hit critical mass and the Star Cathedral which had been there moments before disappeared into an explosive ball. The expanding shockwave rocked the Duath as Ela input the jump co-ordinates and activated the hyperdrive, not wishing to be around once Valefor's fleet recovered from the explosion

Though enraged by the pain she had suffered, Shemona was cognisant enough to notice the Star Cathedral exploding behind her. Worry for her mate flooded the whale-ship's blood with the space whale equivalent of adrenaline. She beat her tail and fins, churning the void as she swam towards the expanding explosion from the former space station. Her body was showered in flames and debris as the blast wave pushed outwards, turning her armoured harness black with carbon scoring. Still she pushed onwards, ignoring the brief scalding pain until her eyes settled on the Felstorm, still intact. She let out a moan of relief.MMMMUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW! The few surviving Fang-class starfighters remaining looped the long way around the void fire-ball, rejoining the whale-ship on the other side as she continued on towards the Star Pyramid. She let out a series of clicks and whistles as she came within two hundred meters of its hull, almost close enough to touch. Something instinctual kept her from coming closer, as though she could sense its deflector shields without them actually being visible to the naked eye.Gritlok let out a rancid breath the Vermin Lord hadn't realised he'd been holding in. The ranat clothed in tanned man-flesh sat back in his command throne in the upper most spire on Shemona's back, feeling incredibly weary from the battle. His beady rodent eyes flicked over the substantial losses of snub-fighters they had suffered. It was the sort of news that had gotten many a ranat devoured by the oh-so-hungry Dark Apothecary and his insatiable appetite. He made a mental note to have one of his subordinates deliver the news in person, hoping that would deflect the Hungering One's ire from himself. With the battle appearing over and the enemy force in retreat, Shemona glutted herself on the left over debris. A few damaged starfighters even had a juicy centre when she squished them between her teeth. She merrily chomped her way through the field, savouring every metal morsel.

The transport passed through the safety of the hangar bay shields, allowing Valefor to disembark and watch as the Cathedral finally failed and exploded. The Felstorm had been far enough away and the shields were strong enough to weather the expanding cloud. However the crew of the Whale-Ship, or more likely Shemona herself, seemed to disregard such a though and took the impact upon her back. He watched then as Shemona moved in close to the Felstorm and let out a series of clicks and whistles, which were responded to in kind. One of his assistants had taken note of the Whale-Ships interest in the Felstorm and had been conducting research in the field of creatures that could survive in the vacuum. A handful of specialised audio equipment had been set up in one of the hangar bays and used to broadcast.
While Valefor couldn't help but worry it would only encourage more strange interactions, Shemona had proved helpful in this fight. And it was better to have an ally you knew for when the fight would come in which she would prove instrumental in victory. With the Whale-Ship moving off to effectively run clean up, the Felstorm moved down toward the surface of Dromund Kaas
