The Kressh-class Battle Cruiser is a variant of the well-known Harrower-class Dreadnought, founded by the resurgent Sith Empire of the Great Galactic War. The true model it goes off of is the lesser known BSX-5 Dreadnought, a class of warship used by the Imperial Navy at that time and was utilized sparsely by the Sith Empire, which favored the Harrowers, Terminius and Gage-class vessels. The model was revived by Sith Shipwright, Cirdan Spiros and Jen'ari Malvus of the Blackguard Reborn. This ship was a part of a naval modernization, later known as the Spiran Reform, to revitalize the Blackguard's navy and focus on faster and smaller ships that would attack in 'wolf packs' against larger and more powerful warships. From this ideal, the Kressh, and its two sisters, were born and approved by the Sith'ari Viox Savage.

The purpose of this warship, the Kressh-class, which was later joined by the more powerful Nihl-class and Exar-class warships, was to serve a strong frontline frigate, similar to that of its predecessor, the Harrower-class Dreadnought, and capable of taking on a Vindicator-class Cruiser. Its firepower is quite standard for its size, 28 turbolaser cannons, 12 ion cannons, 10 point defense laser cannons, 10 point defense ion cannons, and 2 tractor beam projectors. Its starfighter complement was rather small, able to carry no more than 24 starfighters and an added contingent of 1,500 soldiers.
