Carved into a naturally formed plateau, this open air Dueling Arena is located next to the Dark Obelisk, on Mustafar's molten surface. It is a place for the members of the Blackguard to spar against each other in one on one and group combat. There are also training droids and combat scenarios of varying degrees of difficulty. Holo-projectors in the floor and rock spires within the ring itself allow for a multitude of projections to be made. While the Arena is equipped with a suppressor field to protect the combatants from lethal blows, most elect to turn it off and fight in a scenario with real danger. The Sith'ari himself, approves of the reckless way the arena is used, claiming it 'strengthens and builds a better warrior'. It is also often used as a form of entertainment, pitting vicious animals, slaves, death row inmates and sometimes even prisoners against each other in all out combat, with bets places on who will emerge as the victor.

Having gained a little more knowledge from both Gavin and her holocron, Luxeria felt it was time to finally step out ans do some physical training. The most physical work she ever seemed to do anymore was the missions she was on. That needed to change. It kept her up and in shape, sure, but it didn't help her progress and grow. And with all her new down time, she no longer had any excuses.
Making her way out to the dueling arena, Luxeria felt the sudden wave of heat wash over her the moment the doors opened. It would prove to be an additional factor to aid in her training. Walking up the path to the open plateau, she looked out over the rigid rocks that made up the boundaries. Viox sure made use of everything surrounding the Obilesk, it seemed. It made sense in the end. Why waste what was available?
Finally, reaching the top, she removed her standard lightsaber and activated it, summoning forth the purple blade. From there, she began moving the blade around, slowly at first, bringing it closer and closer to her body with each swing. With the passing minutes, she began to pick up speed as she started moving around, stepping forward and back, side to side, and even spinning. She worked to better understand the feeking of the blade in her hand as the beam of light turned to a blur of purple. Eventually, she elevated regular slashes and swipes to spinning the blade in her hand, adding to the diffculty. She would become a master of her weapon, her body, and the Force, turning them into one entity on the battlefield.

Luxeria’s pattern continued to advance as time pressed on. After nearly twenty minutes, her form had turned into what some might call a dance of blades. Establishing a beautiful and elegant display, she had come to find a satisfying sync with her movements. Switching back and forth between a two handed and single handed grip, she let he lightsaber dance around her as the added spins and twirls were guided between her fingertips. For now, she was avoiding using the Force to aid her, seeking to better understand her weapon, how it felt, its balance and weight, as well as how it moved in her hands. This helped set exactly how close she could get without thinking about her movements, which had gotten pretty close. In the end, her approach thus far was nothing more than a free form Soresu combat as there was nothing to defend against, this no precise angles and approaches.
After awhile, she changed her style. She now began to throw the blade into the air a bit with a spin and catch it without trying to guide herself into a grip and without hesitation. This was much more difficult and dangerous, so she started very slowly. She started by tossing the blade up in its spin and catching it with the same hand before throwing it back up and catching it with her opposite hand. She continued this pattern for awhile, slowly increase speed as she adjusted to the movements.

As she grew accustom to the movements, she began picking up the speed and added a little extra flare to the actions. Now she would spin the blade in her hand before throwing it into the air. In this way, it appeared as if the blade was always spinning, creating a barrier of light before her.
While still not fully comfortable with flow as she was with her first pattern, she decided to up the ante. Starting in her right hand, she spin the blade before extending her arm up behind her back and tossing the lightsaber into the air. She’d catch it with her left, then spin it around in front of her before tossing it up in front and catching it with her right, ending with a final spin. Once there, she’d reverse her direction.
She had to get better, that she knew. This wasn’t a combat exercise, she had come to figure out. It was about learning and understanding her weapon when in her hand. It was about letting go of thought and focus and letting her handle on the lightsaber become second nature. It had to become instinct. That way, she could handle any situation. She was presented with when it came to her weapon. Never thinking about where to grab, her body knowing exactly what to do on its own. That was the goal.

Time proved to help settle her capability with tossing her lightsaber in a bit of a blind spot. Adjusting well enough, she had chosen to suddenly switch the pattern she was following to trip up her mind. While the front spin and toss remained the same, she changed the way she threw her saber behind her back. Now she would toss the blade up on the side that held the blade and twist a bit to bring the catching hand behind her back and catch the saber. Due to the reach and being less able to see where her hand would catch the lightsaber, she slowed down to start once again but gradually picked up the pace.
But it was there that she chose to stop. There was so much more she could do to further her control, but didn't want to try too much in one go. It was hot outside the Obelisk and, though she wasn't physically tired, the focus and concentration was putting a little bit of a mental strain on her. Had she been using the training lightsaber Gavin gifted her years ago, she might have pushed on but with a fully active blade, she didn't need to lose focus and injure herself. It wouldn't do well for her image if she got seriously hurt during a training exercise that wasn't insanely dangerous.
Taking a few minute break to wipe the sweat away and center herself, she thought on what to do next. It wasn't a terribly difficult choice to make. It was time to develop her Force techniques. The first was one she knew was coming along well, as she had utilized it recently. Of all the skills she was learning from her holocron, the Doppleganger ability was one that had revealed itself to her in the early days of her training. Andor had influenced her and Darth Lura during a training session to help them see just what they could accomplish when they became more skilled. It surfaced in that fight.
And from there, she had learned more about it once she discovered just what it was. At this point, she could make an effective copy relatively quickly and easily. But one wasn't enough. She wanted to be able to make multiple copies to further distract her enemies in battle. And that was the goal. Closing her eyes, she began to focus, letting the Force run through her, then leave her. Having resonated over her body and copied the features within, the Force came together and forged the perfect image of Luxeria. She opened her eyes to see her replica there. That was the first step. now began the work the create the second copy.

Time passed on as Luxeria worked on furthering her Doppleganger technique. Having already had the knowledge and skill to create a replica, doing so was but an easy task. The challenge was controlling and splitting her focus so that she created a second copy without taking anything from the first. And so she had to take her time, watching the first as the second took shape. This would show her what changes needed to be made as she went.
Taking nearly ten minutes, she was finally able to bring her second body to life. She sensed no deformities nor could she see anything. From here, creating two would be easier until they were as easy as creating one. When she reached that point, she’d work on a third. She smirked as she looked between the clones as they looked at each other and her before smirking as well. Even more, she was able to manipulate they individually as if they were the real thing. Taking a deep breath, the clones then vanished. It was time for another break before moving on to the next skill.

Ready to go once more, Luxeria decided to work on a new power. She had been looking into it for quite some time as her skills in Telekinesis grew. However, she could never make it work. It was only during the raid on Felucia that it finally was able to awaken in her. All it took was a different mindset, a different approach from what she guessed it to be. With Force Flight right at her fingertips, a new avenue of options awaited her.
Closing her eyes, she reflected on the moment it happened, remembering how it came to be. It wasn't as simple as wrapping the Force around herself and moving herself around. It was about pushing against her with her own energy. The way it was exerted and how much energy she used was how it all worked, at least in her mind. Gathering the Force within her, she began pushing downwards towards the ground. It took a minute or two, but she slowly started to float above the ground. But a few inches wasn't enough. She wanted to go higher, use it as the power suggested: as flight.

Time pressed on as Luxeria continued to push higher into the air. Unfortunately, all she could manage was five feet off the ground. What was more was that she saw why this was a difficult ability to learn. It took the proper application of the Force which required a lot of focus. Her body reacted merely on instinct and adrenaline when she first used it but she knew that she couldn’t replicate it again. Something she had discovered was that once something was discovered, using it as it was the first time will never happen until one becomes skilled in its use. The moment she became aware of her capability in using it, her mind locked in and required the proper focus. Even future battles wouldn’t allow it.
While hovering five feet was taking its toll on her focus and reserves, she didn’t want to just hang there. She wanted to at least attempt to move around. And so she did. Moving at a crawl, she tried moving around the arena. As she did, she became jumpy as the exertion of the Force started changing. She had to learn to control and understand the necessary requirements to use the move properly. From here, she’d go until she couldn’t continue on.

Lucky enough to move around the entire arena after twenty minutes, Luxeria gave out and dropped to the ground. Her breath was growing heavy due to the mental strain. Coupled with low Force reserves, she was finding herself growing physically worn out. But she wasn't finished yet. There was one final skill she wanted to work on before she returned indoors. Before that, however, she'd have to rest and regain her strength. Thankful for the help Ifrit gave her, the Dantari crystal in her left bangle could be used. As such, she was already drawing on its power to restore some of her power. All she could do for the moment, though, was rest and wait. Finding a rock protruding from the arena, she took a seat and did just that.

With some of her strength returned, Luxeria was ready to finish her practice for the day off. Removing her bangle from her right wrist, she set it aside. The Stygium crystal imbedded within would aid her in her stealth techniques. But before then, she needed to master the abilities on her own, using the bangle as an extra boost, not an aid to account for her lack of skill
Having naturally come across the skill, Luxeria was determined to master Force Cloak, knowing it would be invaluable for an assassin. It had been years since she tried it, but she remembered the feeling that coursed through her. Solitude, the desire to separate herself from the rest of the world, the remain unseen. Using these feelings, she began to twist the Force around her working to bend light around her and rendering her invisible.

Taking nearly five minutes, Luxeria could see that she had faded from sight. As was with Force Flight, the concentration and energy needed to maintain the ability was immense. To use it effectively without the overreaching drawbacks of such a power, she knew it would be on the list of powers that she'd actively train with so to lessen the strain when in use. Otherwise, it was a pointless task.
As with the previous power, she sought to push the limits of her level of control and started to walk around the arena, keeping eyes on herself to see when the cloak began to shift and fade.

After only ten minutes, Luxeria fell to her knees, sweat pouring off her face and her breath heavy. She had pushed her mental focus as hard as she could and it was finally taking its toll on her. Each time she noticed her cover starting to waver, she forced more power and concentration into the technique to keep it active as for a long as possible. Had she not used Force Flight first, she would have done better as her power wouldn't have been as low. Even with the aid of her Dantari crystal, she would have needed much more time to recover even half her strength. That on its own gave her a satisfied thought.
Crawling over to the rock she was originally resting at, she grabbed her second bangle and put it on as she leaned up against it to recover a bit.

The days continued to pass on as Luxeria progressed with training. For the time being, she had set for herself a pattern, coming out everyday to work on her lightsaber control, Force Flight, Force Cloak, and Doppelganger techniques. She could have easily started other things during her time out her, but wanted to gain a solud grasp on those abilities before moving on. That way, when she came back to them, she'd have the knowledge and ability already there.
From there she moved to the library, still working on answering the question of the difference between Jedi and Sith, along with other knowledge to help her grow. Finally, she'd end in the mediation chamber, letting herself sink into the Force through mediation as well as adapt to the overwhelming presence of the Dark-Side.
While the last two aspects would remain unchanged in their progression, it was time to change up what happened in the training arena. Stepping off the path and away fron the arena, she found a protrusion of rock ripe for her desires. Gathering the Force into her hand, she unleashed it on the formation, blasting it into pieces. From it, she gathered up palm sized fragments numbering up to twenty and moved to the dueling arena.
Once there, she sat down and began to focus. Following the same lesson Gavin passed to her on Iridonia, she lifted them with her Telekinesis, manipulating so that each spun on three separate axis at varying speeds while moving around her in similar ways all in attempt to refine her control over the Force, her abilities, and the energy used to manage them.

An hour past before she opened her eyes, pieces of rock moving to float before her. Currently, the task give. To her wasn’t difficult. She had done enough practice in the years prior to handle this part with ease. Raising a hand, she crushed the pieces, breaking them into thirds. Now she had sixty smaller fragments to work with next time.
Moving them over into a pile at the eve of the arena, she was ready to step into the next bit of training. Gavin’s message had spoken of Force Sight and that it would prove effective to learn. At this point, she didn’t question people like Gavin, Malvus, or Viox. When they said something was worth learning, it was wise to accept that suggestion.
Closing her eyes, she reflected over what she had learn the past couple days about it. It allowed her to see with the For e were her eyes were useless. Blind Force-users utilized this ability as well as one whole race who were born blind. She began reaching out with the Force, working to let it guide her senses and give shape to the world inside the darkness.

Time moved on as Luxeria worked to see with the Force. Yet, for the longest time, she saw only darkness. Was she missing something, some approach that let her visualize her surrounds within her mind? Or was that it was something she couldn’t do? Refusing to believe that, she continued on. Ten minutes, twenty, forty, yet nothing seemed to come no matter how she manipulated the Force. She could sense things happening around her, that’s what allowed her to fight like she did. So there was no reason she couldn’t manage it.
Just as the hour began its last ten minutes, something caugh her attention. Looking down, she saw a faint glow in the place of her body. An orangish red, the most she could gather was she was starting to see by noticing the build up of Force energy within her. For now, it was a glow. Not the most useful at the moment, but at least progress had been made.
Feeling a little tired, she took a seat on a rock to rest a bit.

Having rested a little, Luxeria decided to try another new ability, one she had never utilized in any form: Pyrokinesis. At first, coming across the ability meant nothing to her as it didn't fit into her flow of power or desire. As such, she had paid it no mind. But during the raid on Felucia, she had come to notice something about her presence. When in combat, the alluring aspect of it disappeared and began to burn like fire. Fitting, it seemed, as many considered such a thing about her hair. Somehow, those thoughts were enough to convince her to learn the ability.
Removing a piece of cloth from her person, she set it on a rock and stepped back. If she could generate a flame, manipulating it should be much easier. So she'd start with the harder part and maybe spare herself some time. Reaching out to the cloth, she began using the Force to manipulate the air molecules around the fabric as she attempted to create fire.

Vasari leaned forward from the rock she was perched on overlooking the Dueling pit. They'd been back from their missions only a handful of days before Vasari had seen fit to begin her morning routine yet again. A several mile long run around the complex as she used to do at the academy was different now - met with various dangers from the volcanic planet, yet after a few days she had learned her route and doubled her speed - the feeling of her twin hearts beating against her chest a welcome feeling. She always ended her run at the Dueling pits but until today she hadn't stopped to practice herself, as she had never brought her saberstaff with her on these runs. Today was no exception but she desired a place to meditate and generally this place was empty save for when Luxeria was practicing here and so that morning Vasari had found a quiet spot overlooking the entire Arena and sat to meditate. Finding herself in a deep state of Quey'tek after the first hour she focused on maintaining that presence, attempting to find a way to work herself within the currents of the Force while maintaining herself apart from it - it was a daunting task for her because since she had begun studying quey'tek years ago at the Academy she could only remove herself from the force at the extent of her own force abilities and awareness. She had to focus on he physical prowess alone when she was hiding - which is also why she continued to push her body to its limits on a daily basis.
It was during one of these Meditative trances that Luxeria had come to the Arena. As Vasari was higher above her and completely shrouded in the force she would have been easy to miss, they Quey'tek was absolute in its ability to remove ones presence from the currents of the force. Vasari sat in silence hearing the sounds of Luxeria's workout and allowing the presence of her friend to calm her - hoping that she could reach out and feel Luxeria through their bond while remaining shrouded. If she could touch Luxeria's mind, being as close to it as she had been over the last months, and remain apart then she would know that the next step was possible for her, but throughout Luxeria's entire workout she had failed to find a way to see through the vale of her own shroud to manipulate the force in any way. She exhaled softly slipping forward along the rock and laying down flat against the hot stones feeling the heat and the power of the planet literally caressing her skin. She exhaled softly and watched as Luxeria fell still seeming to focus on something. The tear of her cloth was a curious bit and Vasari found her head tilting slightly wondering what she was doing. She simply seemed to be looking at it, and without touching her mind, or feeling the currents of the Force around her there was no way of knowing what was happening, it would truly be a surprise to her, and so from the rocks above stretched out in the midday sun she watched her friend and waited with baited breath...

Not once had Luxeria noticed Vasari sitting and watching her from above. Had she been able to touch Luxeria's mind, it would have turned into curious game of hide and seek. But through all of it, she continued on unaware.
The time, despite not knowing much about the ability, was much shorter than normal. She worked to tap into that flamibg essence within her and hoped to use that as a guide. Sure enough, after ten minutes of focus, the cloth caught fire and began to burn brightly. Now with the flame in existence, she worked to manipulate it. For now, she simply work to increase and decrease its size, waiting to try more intense manipulation when sne had more to work with.
Another ten minutes was spent utilizing the ability before she stopped, extinguishing the fire. Looking at her hand, she smirked at her growing power and the expanse of skills at her disposal. Deciding to work on one more ability, she opted to work on Force Flight some more. It was by far the most difficult at the moment, requiring the greatest focus.
Taking a deep breath, she channelled the Force around her and in her and, within a few minutes, was floating fifteen feet in the air. As she always did, once that high, she began to hocer across the arena until she grew tired.

Vasari's eyes shined a little brighter when she watched the piece of torn cloth in her fingers catch fire and a giddy laugh threatened to escape her lips before she brought her hand over her mouth to silence the noise before it could echo throughout the arena. She had read about pyrokinesis many years earlier and even went so far dabble in its effects for a moment, it was relatively easy for her to influence the growing and the dying of the flame once it had been created - normally through the use of Sith lightning and any flamable substance - such as the books she had burst into flames on Felucia. It was a simple application of the Living Force, the energy transfer between all things in the universe, once your mind was tapped into the currents around you simple. But she had stopped the study when she had been unable to do what Luxeria had just done - create fire from the will of the force alone. From what she read she lacked the passion to do so, or perhaps the strength of will to create something within the energy of the force that was not there before. She had not dedicated herself to pursuing it and so she did not even consider it one of her talents, but in a manner of minutes Luxeria had surpassed her dabbling. She ducked down a little beyond the rock continuing her voyeurism into Luxeria's training session.
When she peeked back over the rock the fire was gone and Luxeria seemed to be meditating on something, once again she attempted to reach past her own vale of protection and reach towards her friends mind once again... only to be met with bitter failure once again. There had to be something she was missing, some mental focus that could allow her to split her mind as she had done in the past between maintaining a defense and reaching past that shield. The problem she seemed to be running up against was she was removing herself from the Force, rising above the currents as she had learned to do at the Academy to hide from the ghost that had tested her in the dungeons below the grounds of the School. Without the currents of the force she could not reach out and feel the first current which was life and energy, the basics of most of the abilities she focused upon.
When Luxeria Leapt into the air and did not descend again Vasari's eyes widened a bit. A very advanced form of telekinesis that few people ever bothered with, most would just jump or use the force to soften a landing, but sustained flight required a measure of concentration that that was difficult to maintain in the heat of battle. Vasari's eyes narrowed slightly and a coy smile slipped across her lips. Her friend was about on her level of elevation and no doubt the only reason Luxeria hadn't noticed her was because she wasn't looking, there was no reason to, there wasn't a living thing anywhere near her, as Luxeria's senses would no doubt be constantly informing her of... Reaching down she picked up a rock about the size of a small ball and squeezed it between her fingers testing its weight before reaching back and hurling the rock through the air at the girl with near perfect accuracy if on point it would make impact with her left shoulder a few inches above her heart with enough force behind the throw to hurt and perhaps knock her from the air but not enough to cause any permanent damage... that was assuming of course that Luxeria wouldn't notice it before impact.

What was more impressive was not only was Vasari's aim perfect when thrown at a still target, it was dead on for a moving one. As Luxeria moved around the arena, not once did she notice Vasari, her back usually turned towards more often than not. So as the rock flew at her, she failed to notice when and where it was thrown from.
However, due to her days worth of training in the ability, Luxeria was able to expande passed her immediate focus on maintaining the ability. As the rock closed in on her, her senses registered something approaching from behind. Turning, she reached with her left hand and stopped it mid-throw. Yet, diverting a bit of her attention and energy towards the rock had its drawback. Without the full extent of her focus and it being suddenly shifted, she started to fall from the sky. Focusing once more, she was able to catch herself after a few feet, though the strain from holding herself and the rock could be seen. But it was an oppertunity to push the limits she had. Turning her hand upwards, she closed it and crushed the rock, though as she did, she slowly began to descend.
Once the rock was dust, she let out a breath and let herself settle downwards as she couldn't hold the ability any longer. As she went, she was able to finally see the Zabrak on the rocks. Touching down, she took a few more breaths before looking up to her friend. "Oh, so that's how you want to play it?"
Finding a larger rock just off the edge of the arena, Luxeria used tge Force to toss it at Vasari for amusement's sake.
