This is the office of Lindsay Mildhurt, one of the senior partners of the Payne, Mildhurt, & Strange law firm. It is a corner office situated on the fifth, and top floor, of one of the more newer buildings in Nystao. On the two walls that meet, making up one corner of the room, there is floor-to-ceiling reinforced transparisteel windows that can change opacity when wanted/needed with the push of a button.
The room, itself, is furnished with a decently sized sectional desk with a holocomputer screen atop it, a large comfortable sofa, a round shaped coffee table, and several overstuffed chairs. On one wall there is a large holoscreen with two smaller security monitors on either side of it, and shelving for law books/datapads. In the corner near the large holoscreen sits a smaller table that holds a mini-fridge and caf machine. On the other side of the room is an entrance to another room that houses a bed, a small clothes closet and the entrance to the bathroom/refresher. The bathroom/refresher contains a toilet, a shower, and a sink with a mirror above it.

Nash Leed, one of the junior partners of P.M.S. law firm, was just finishing one of his case files for the day, or should he say the evening considering that it was way past office hours anyways, but he didn’t care, and he certainly didn’t mind doing extra hours anyways. Sighing softly and closing the file, he finally stood up from his seat, to his full height and rolled back down the sleeves of his button up shirt before putting back on his tie, just making himself presentable again before tossing his jacket suit and putting that one. He knew he had to drop this onto Lindsay’s desk on his way out, that was if she was already gone for the day.
Knowing her though, maybe not, especially when he saw Kassidy earlier just leaving in a rush and Lindsay heading back to her office, both of them seemed to be having defeated face, not to mention that a certain doctor had also been present in the premises. . .
Walking out of his office and heading straight to Lindsay’s, even if the door was ajar, Nash still knocked on the door once and pushed it open, not really looking at her just yet, “Just wanted to drop th—,” Cutting himself short as he lifted his head to look in her direction, Nash frowned upon seeing her there, sitting down on her seat.
He knew that she was thinking, that crease there on her forehead was present, and thus he knew that she was not relaxed at all. Something had her worked up, and it really didn’t look good at all. Opting to not leave her alone, as after all, whenever he seemed to be down too, she’d look out for him, he figured he’d return the favor ergo why he stepped inside of her office and closed the door behind him all that in silence before advanced towards the front of her desk, facing her.
Putting the file he had in hand on the farthest side of her desk to let her know that it wasn’t important anyways, it was done and all, he looked at her silently to begin with before tilting his head on the side.
“If I told you that, you need to get out of here right now, what would you say to me?” Asked Nash genuinely, truth be told, he didn’t know where to start, but he knew that he at least had to make her talk, although he still found that little crease there adorable, but not this way, and not right now, she really seemed just despondent and he clearly didn’t like it.
He just hoped, that at least, he would be man enough, or at least he would be the correct person, for now, to make her talk about her worries instead of her letting those build up within, and any sensible people knew that it was the wrong thing to do. . .

Lindsay Mildhurt, one of the three founding partners of the Payne, Mildhurt, & Strange law firm, sat behind her desk deep in though of what one of her best friends, and fellow senior partner Stefanie Strange, had told her, Kassidy Payne, and Nikky Skylander a few hours before. She wasn't sure what to think about the information regarding the real reason of why Stefanie had left Conruscant, and Crystal Kayne, four years ago. Nobody had ever given up something like that for her before, what Stefanie had given up to keep them all safe, and Lindsay wasn't quite sure how to deal with that. Saying 'Thank you' didn't seem like enough in a situation like this one. Shaking her head a little, she pushed all of that to the back of her mind for the time being and began to go through the stack of datapads on her desk while glancing up every so often to compare the dates and times of her clients' court dates on the holomonitor that sat toward the left hand corner of her desk.
She had tried to concentrate on getting the files for some of her cases in order before they left for Umgul but her mind kept wandering back to the holocomm from Crystal and Lily, the things they said and then what Stefanie had said after the comm ended. Giving a sigh of frustration, Lindsay pushed her glasses up to the top of her head and rubbed her hands over her eyes. Leaning forward, elbows on the edge of the desk, she rested her folded hands under her chin as she stared blankly, with a furrowed brow, at the holomonitor in front of her. So deep in her thoughts, she didn't hear the knock at her office door, and only looked up when she felt a familiar presence as Councilor Nash Leed spoke before closing the door and walking forward to place a file on the far corner of her desk. After setting the file down, he tilted his head to the side and spoke once more, asking a question this time.
Meeting his gaze with a tired smile, Lindsay dropped her hands to the desk with a small sigh. "I would say you're probably right, Nash. I was trying to get this stuff done but apparently that's not happening with everything that happened today going through my mind."It was then that the realization hit her that he didn't know about what had went on earlier in the day, the holocomm in Stefanie's office, the aftermath that had brought, or the fact that she, Stefanie, Kassidy, and Nikky would be going to Umgul in the next couple of days. She supposed she would have to be the one to fill him in on everything since he was one of their top trusted junior partners, along with Andrea Strange who was Stefanie's younger sister, Brion Hunter, and Robyn "Reggie" Moon. They would all have to be told sometime in the next day or two seeing as how they would be the ones put in charge of running the firm and handling the cases while the three senior partners were absent.
Leaning back in her chair with a slight smile, and a contemplative look on her face, she took silent note of the concerned expression etched across his handsome face as she met his gaze once more. "So Counselor Leed....any suggestions on where we might go once we get out of here?" She inquired with an arched eyebrow and a bit of a teasing tone as she picked up the caf mug sitting near the holomonitor, making a rather comical face at the cold caf within before taking a drink then setting it back on the desk.

Even with her tired smile, Nash could not help but to return a warm smile to her. He always liked it when she smiled, no matter how she was currently faring, all of her smiles were breathtaking, and it often, if not always, made him want to smile back at her. His gaze locked onto hers, and his undivided attention turned at her exclusively, Nash smiled once more when she agreed to his assessment. “Leave those things, Lindsay, you know that I will gladly pick up the rest and help you out in the process.” Said Nash in reassurance. After all, Lindsay knew him enough to know that he was the kind of person who was willing to help, even assist, if and when necessary.
He might not have been privy to what had happened today, on this very day, but he was smart enough to know that something serious had gone down. It had started from Kassidy leaving the law firm, to even Samael Canaan, a doctor who Stefanie appreciated that much, sitting at the waiting room there fidgeting. Nonetheless, Nash was willing, inclined to listen to Lindsay to vent, and he did not hesitate to let her know.
“Though, that won’t happen tonight, it’s late, and you, Counselor Mildhurt, need a better suited drink, lest you’d want to prosecute that poor cold coffee right there.” Nash carried on speaking, and there might have been a teasing, and playful tone right there during his statement, but again it was an automatism, she did after all just spoke to him teasingly too. In any case, there was no use to linger on that fact, and even if he did like the blonde lawyer sitting right before him currently, this was not the time, or the place to bring up the flirt when by her own admission, she had plenty of things currently on her mind.
“How about we head to Lust, though I am quite aware that technically it’s not officially open yet, I am sure that your best friends’ doctors would be willing to let us be in the club’s premises?” Suggested Nash thoughtfully, after all from what he clearly understood, all of the senior partners, and founders, of Payne, Mildhurt, & Strange law firm were affected by something. “. . . So a place, somewhat private, and familiar to you, therefore where you can also relax, and then you can tell me what is on that beautiful head of yours?” Nash smiled warmly, and in a friendly manner, although he just let her pick out the topic on what she wanted to talk about, discuss, either way he would be there for as long as she needed a confident.
“So, what say you, do I make a compelling argument in convincing you to step out or do I have to resort to more dramatic measures?” Pursing his lips to try and keep at least a serious expression, his gaze said differently, he actually wanted to chuckle, but he didn’t, not right now just yet. . .

Smiling at his teasing, she rested her elbows on the arms of her chair and folded her hands in front of her with a contemplative look on her face.
"I know you would finish them, but I don't want to leave all of them for you since I won't be here for a while. Stefanie, Kassidy, Nikky, and I will be heading to Umgul in the next couple of days to help an old friend with an important case." Lindsay explained as she leaned forward and rested her elbows on the desk in front of her before continuing. "About the cold coffee....there is no defense for that. I would feel bad for even thinking about trying to prosecute it. So yes, I think a better suited drink is, indeed, in order." She said with a chuckle and a grin while pushing away from the desk and standing to gather her knapsack style purse from the other side of desk.
After sliding one strap of the purse over her shoulder, she turned to face him with a warm smile at his suggestion of going to Lust for dinner. "I like that idea....and Saam and Wil, both, said we were all welcome to go there before their grand opening for the public. It gives the chefs and wait staff some practice beforehand, not that any of them need it since they are some of the best at what they do."
She stopped again, catching her lower lip between her teeth with an inward groan, as she realized she was about to ramble on about the attributes of Lusts' employees. She tended to do that when she was tired, or a little nervous - though she was never really nervous around Nash. She felt comfortable with him, safe. Especially after the incident with Blaine Pintero, a man who had stalked and actually attacked her, almost two years ago. She hated to think about what could have happened if he and Kassidy hadn't intervened when they did. She didn't want to think about it so she pushed that thought out of her mind. She didn't want to tarnish a good proposal of dinner and conversation with Nash with thoughts of that particular ordeal, and she certainly looked forward to spending a nice evening with him.
Meeting Nash's gaze with a grin, she grabbed her charcoal gray business jacket off the back of the chair and folded it over her arm before picking up her briefcase from the side of the desk. "No need to use drastic measures, Counselor. You put forth a convincing enough argument for the court, and the court finds in favor of having a nice relaxing dinner, and conversation, at Lust. As for what's in my beautiful head, that may take a while. How much time do you have?" There was a teasing sparkle in her blue eyes, along with a playful tone to her voice as she arched an eyebrow and continued to look at him with a slight smile.

The moment Lindsay had let him know that she wouldn’t be around for a while, it saddened him. He wouldn’t lie about that, but the best thing he did, actually was to not let it show on his features, instead he focused on what she was telling him.
. . . Umgul? Inwardly repeating that on his mind, that location wasn’t lost on him, like the fact that all the senior partners of the firm were going to make that trip with their protégé. . . Also an old friend of theirs contacted them? Deciding not to linger on that matter for the time being as Lindsay was still speaking, Nash kept his attention to everything she had been saying, including the pending case files, and the cold coffee.
“The coffee really doesn’t deserve that.” Said Nash with a playful tone as he simply shook his head and smiled warmly, “Therefore I am truly glad that you’ll move on to another drink, a better suited one.” Nash was probably just repeating, or just readapting the words, whatever really? He didn’t want to get into the nitty gritty yet, at least not right now.
He could tell that she really had a lot of things on her mind, and he could tell that she was worked up about several things that must have been said this afternoon. That was all he had observed ever since they had walked back in, and not to mention he felt so many mixed up emotions in one afternoon, and evening. She was thinking again, or at least something else was going through her mind. He didn’t want to assume anything at all, so instead of pointing out that fact, he gestured for her briefcase, she already a knapsack style purse and her business jacket on one arm, and this was the least he could do, offer to carry her bag.
“Thankfully then, you did not opt to see the drastic measure I had in mind, perhaps you might have laughed at that. . .” Actually no, he had no drastic measures in mind, or maybe he did, but then that was a plan B, and for now it was unnecessary. “So, I will just thank the powers that be, that at least the court has found my arguments appealing, and that will spare you my what could have been drastic measure, though with that said,” Grinning at the thought and actually grabbing his portable datapad, Nash typed a message straight to Lust, asking for a favor.
That favor was pot stickers. Plenty of those.
Putting the datapad into his inner jacket pocket, Nash looked at her more seriously this time, but still he smiled warmly. “For you, Lindsay? I have all the time in the galaxy. . .” Spoke Nash in a matter of factly tone. He wasn’t lying about that, he did, and he would always make time for her, whatever the circumstances were. “Come, let’s get you out of here, pot stickers are waiting for you, and the wine you love, or any other drinks you deem necessary.”
. . . And with that he offered his free arm for her to place her hand on if she wanted while he carried both of their briefcases in one hand. Heading towards his airspeeder down at the designated parking space for him back in the law firm’s garage, Nash let her in first and drove them to Lust. . .
