Stage

Slowly, I ascended the steps toward the Stage, a half-finished glass on Tarisian ale still clutched in my left hand. As I crossed the stunningly beautiful wooden platform (carefully stepping around the hole Plu had cut earlier), someone handed me my award plaque. And then, I was at the podium, in front of more people that had ever addressed at once, in any place or parallel timeline, ever. It was intimidating. But I knew what I had to do, and I knew that I could do anything, so long as I had an objective on which to focus.

"Wow." I began. "I don't know what to say. This is a tremendous honor, and I would not be standing here tonight if it were not for the example of other great smugglers like Aedon and Adrien, or even my own Captain, Galdaart Fel, who opened the hatchways of his ships to a lost, homeless, injured stranger and gave me a place in this galaxy to call my own." Pausing, and wiping a single tear from my eye, I swallowed as I thought about my friends, and especially my crew members. "Thank you. Thank you to all of your who mentored me and inspired me over the last five and a half real-life years. Especially all of you who are members of the Fel Crew, or hired us, or fought against us, or otherwise interacted with us. I could not have done this without you. Even you, SO-6."

"Cheers, and thank you from the bottom of my heart!" I raised my glass to the crowd in toast, then tilted it back and drained it. Then, without another word, I walked off.

Fashionably late. . .

Forcias supposed he could settle for that as he walked up on the stage to accept his award for Best NPC, he looked at the plaque and smiled before saying. "Thank for this, it wouldn't have been possible without someone right there," Forcias looked at the elite congregation right there, but his gaze landed onto someone in particular.

"I am honored especially that I have been picked out of the lot, so thanks once again, and congratulations to everyone also, this goes out to all of us NPCs!"

Forcias stepped off the stage knowing that he probably could have a better speech, but that would do. . .

Wilhelm rose up from the stage floor again as he applauded the sisters and the winners of Best Duo as he moved forward

Wow, soo many nominee's and winners, it's crazy! But then, that is what this is all about! and there is still plenty more crazy to go around! But before we entirely lose our heads, it's time to present the Player's Choice award for Favourite Planetary Thread! And my there is a hell of a list here. The Nominee's were:

the awards then disappeared itno the void to take residency with their appropriate forums and the writer's that contirbuted to them. Wilhelm meanwhile started to move towards the right of the stage and stopped briefly

And now, let's get our next presenter on stage!
Wilhelm then made his exit off stage right

Fel suddenly felt awfully far from the stage, as there seemed to be miles of space to cover between his seat and the stairs leading to the nice, shiny, wooden stage-floor. Rising, he was aware of many pairs of eyes watching him as he made his way quickly (but not too quickly) to the foot of the stairs. Did he have a speech? No, not really. Nice things to say about nice people. Had he remembered to button his jacket when he stood? No. He hadn't. Damn. Pausing to button the jacket seemed to take forever, and must have looked to the assembled masses that the pilot had forgotten how to climb a set of stairs. Reaching the top, he crossed quickly to the podium, side-stepping the spotlights as if they were something to be avoided at all costs. When he finally made it to the relative safety of the lectern, the spotlights caught up to him and he stood, deer-in-the-headlights for a moment, not sure of how to proceed. Last time he had been here, the microphone had fed back when he had spoken, and now he eyed the device as a creature not to be trusted. For a moment, he looked back out at where he had been sitting, and saw the faces of his crew, which filled him with microphone-bravado for long enough to give the beast a try.

After the momentary, unwelcome burst of noise, the crowd fell silent, and Galdaart admonished himself for trusting audio equipment. (Never again...)  

Good evening. I am very pleased to be here to present the Sithie award for Best Lightsider. They're generally good folks. Y'know -- Jedi. There's a green saber and a red saber on the site logo, the good guys use the green ones. Without them, there's a good chance none of us would be here, or we'd all be slaves or subjugated in some heinous Sith-centric version of the 'verse, which between you and me, I don't even want to think about. 

Realizing that if crickets had been allowed in a major theatre, or that if the apparently malevolent Audio operator was really trying to embarrass the smuggler and had chosen this moment to play a clip of crickets (damn!) it would have been appropriate, as the pilot was crashing and burning, Fel's writer stepped in to try and salvage the presentation. Galdaart happily stepped aside to merely hold the award. A more low-key job, and the outlander was more than happy to turn the mic over to his writer.

Hi. I'm Dan. Nice to be here tonight. Seriously, these guys are all a great group of very talented writers and deserve our respect and admiration for writing what could only be considered a very difficult PC. It's not just anyone who can adhere to the tenets of writing a principled, scrupulous character. I can't do it. Add to that the Force, and I tip my hat to each and every one of you. You write the very things that I find nearly impossible, and you do so each and every day on a level befitting these Sithies, and if I may be so bold -- writing awards outside this site. Such is the level of writing represented here.

Dan paused as he opened the envelope containing the name of the winner. A smile spread across his face as he showed Fel the contents, and the two shared a nod of approval before Dan returned to the mic.

Suddenly Fel finds himself holding two awards not one, in a strange twist of Sithies physics. Shrugging, he awaits the arrival of Serrin and Ael to deliver the awards, and leans in to the mic so that he and Dan can say in unison:

Jade smiled over at Serrin, thinking back on all the years they'd spent working together as the two of them headed up on stage. Once there, she felt a bit out of place, in spite of the fact she'd held various public offices throughout her career.

"Thank you all for the lovely compliment, especially for letting me share this award with Serrin Roma. Hopefully this is just another instance of our future working relationship in universe."

Yeah, speeches of this kind really were not her forte. Maybe Serrin would make it better.

Out in the audience she spied Z'har looking at her, though only because she knew exactly where he was. The lighting was a bit blinding and faces that she probably knew at least by reputation seemed a bit of a muddle from this vantage point.

Alisha walked up to the podium, placing her hands on the surface in front of her, and smiled out at the crowd.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It's great to see everyone, drinking, laughing, having a good time, and breaking that damn forth wall! Also, congratulations (in case The Writer forgets to do so later) to all of the winners, and nominees, thus far....and to all of the winners, and nominees, that are to come before the night is over. You have all been well deserving of the accolades awarded to you."


She took a moment to gaze around the crowded theater at all of the nominees and winners with a warm smile before continuing.

"What is a darksider? A darksider is someone who walks on the darkside of the Force, but not necessarily a Sith per se. He, or she, is someone who is perhaps manipulative, secretive, cunning, or even sometimes, outright blatant in his, or her, plans. While some have not always started out as darksiders, they have eventually embraced the darkside to save someone they love or hold dear. The power and seductive allure have caused others to wholeheartedly embrace the darkside from the beginning. Some have built up empires while others have destroyed them....and some have just sat back and watched their minions carry out their devious plots of galactic domination. The nominees fit some, or all, of the aforementioned criteria.

Ali slide a fingernail under the upper flap on the envelope and pulled the lower flap down. Raising an eyebrow at the elegant bold script, written in basic and aurebesh, emblazoned on the fancy schmancy paper.

"Well folks, it seems we have another tie. The winners are Lord Ifrit and Lyov Entin! Congratulations Gentlemen!"

Ali applauded, along with the crowd, then took her leave of the stage so the guys could make their acceptance speeches if they wished to do so.

As the lights returned to their normal brightness, Vordaan found himself walking out on to the stage, having been summoned much like Ellostraa to cover an absent Presenter, dressed in his finest Tuxedo, which he had originally gotten in preparation for his potential win of Best Lightsider, although the award had ended up going to two equally deserving writers, so at least now that he was presenting, the tux wasn't a complete waste of money, as he stopped at the podium
May the lights blessing be upon you! and thank you all for having me here tonight at this gathering of family, friends, enemies, and all those in between that fit into more than one of those categories! And tonight, I am here to present an award for a very special category, known as Best Non-Force!
Vordaan then reached into his pocket and withdrew the cue cards that Wilhelm had so handily provided him, with the footnotes of what he had to say, who the nominee's were, and who had won
But first I just want to make a point, because as a force user, my life is as easy as pie, I literally dont have to do a whole lot, since I can move objects ten times my size solely by reaching out and using the force with out any real effort. But everyone of the people nominated in this category are non-force users, meaning that life is hard for them, I mean, they have to get cranes to move large objects, they actually have to get up out of their chair if they want to get something from the cupboard, hell most of them dont even get shiny lightsabers. I mean, come-on! What is this nonsense... Well, as a partial pay off, tonight one of our nominee's is going to walk away with a shiny gold award, so that should be compensation enough, no? Wilhelm once again made his return to the stage, after having been absent from making interjections between the last couple awards, but there hadn't been a whole lot for him to do, but now, they were down to the final Player's Choice Award and the final Judged Award for the weekend. He settled the crowd once more as he stopped at the front of the stage

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, we are drawing towards the end of the Sithies Award Ceremony! I just want to thank all you lovely people for being here over this weekend. Despite some initial concerns that this thing could turn out to be a complete bust, you guys have really made this weekend something special, and frankly more enjoyable than any of the past events I've been to! But I'll save my sappiness for my final address, for now, it's my great honor to present the Player's Choice award for Favourite Planet! What was once a Judged Award, we have brought back as a Player's Choice for you to decide which planet you liked best, and there was quite a choice to choose from, the nominee's were:

Wilhelm quickly made his way off stage as the lights faded to a black out
