The planet entered an ice age in 5,000 BBY. Glaciers covered the normally-warm equatorial regions of the planet, while solid ice locked the poles in perpetual winter. In order to survive, the Chiss built energy-efficient warrens beneath the ice, as close to the warmth of the inner planet as possible, with underground carriage travel routes to connect the various underground sections of Csilla. The iceways were bored through the bedrock of the planet, so that they were unaffected by the shifting ice found on the planet's surface.

Hangar Deck. The Gamma-Class Assault Transports lifted off the deck of the ship, wobbly at first, but then steadied out before exiting the hangar. Both of the transports exited the hangar and were then whipped away from the Void due to the velocity of its descent towards the planet's surface. The two craft spun uncontrollably through the air, falling towards the surface of the planet... The ship spun in dizzying arcs as it plummeted through Csilla's atmosphere. Cain fought the g-forces that were pushing and pulling him in every direction possible. Engaging his magnetic boots locked him to the deck plate of the interior of the Gamma-Class Assault Transport. Cain could sense the pilot panicking while he was struggling to regain control of the ship. Cain delved into the ebb and flow of the Force and sent calm, reassuring thoughts to the pilot. While extremely out of character for him to do, Cain knew that his life was literally hanging in the balance. If this pilot couldn't regain control of this transport, then he was dead. And he was no pilot, therefore he was doing the next best thing. After several more seconds of vomit inducing spinning, the craft began to right itself and fly level again. The pilot's voice rang over the loudspeaker in the trooper bay.We aren't out of it yet. We are making our approach to Csaplar! Incoming enemy ground fire!AAA rounds peppered the skies between them and their destination. The pilot's voice rang over the loudspeaker once again.Clawcraft inbound!Beneath his helmet, Cain grinned. Now it was time to shine. If there was one thing he learned from his master, it was how to be an absolute animal when it came to destroying things. Cain disengaged his magnetic boots and strode over to the bay door. His clawed hand reached up for the release button. The bay opened with a rush of icy air. Cain then dove from the bay, aided by the Force, towards the incoming Nssis-Class Clawcraft. As several passed him, Cain found his target. He angled himself towards the oncoming Clawcraft and slowed his descent until he landed on the cockpit of the craft. Cain dug the clawed fingers of his left hand into the shell of the craft. With his right, he plucked his lightsaber from his belt. He thumbed the activation stud. The uncompressed red lightsaber blade wavered in an unstable fashion. Cain then spun the blade around and plunged it into the canopy of the ship, melting the protective canopy away until there was a hole big enough to accommodate him. Cain deactivated his blade and returned the hilt to his belt. Cain then shifted his weight enough to he could slide closer to the freshly cut opening. Reaching in with his free right hand, Cain's clawed hand found purchase in something soft and warm. With one almighty heave, Cain ripped the Chiss pilot out of the craft, his right claws were sunk into the chest of the Chiss, through the flight suit. Cain snarled loudly at the Chiss and tossed him aside. The pilot screamed as he fell to his death. Cain chuckled to himself as he crawled into the wobbling craft. Despite not being a pilot, Cain new enough on how to familiarize himself with the controls. Turning the craft around, Cain somewhat unskillfully, piloted the Clawcraft back down towards the planet's surface. As the craft descended, Cain found the source of the incoming AAA fire. Heading straight for it, Cain jumped from the craft several seconds before it impacted with the tower. Even with the aid of the Force, Cain hit the icy ground hard. Dazed, Cain rose to his feet. He brought his bloodied right hand to his helmeted head. Not exactly what he had been expecting. The wind whipped at his tattered tunic, though he didn't notice. With his triumphant removal of one of the sources of AAA fire, the two Gamma-Class Assault Transports were able to clear the small squadron of Clawcraft and destroy the weapon emplacements. As Cain turned to watch the second hidden tower explode, one of the Transports soared overhead. The second one followed suit, with it's trooper bay door open. Cain gathered the Force around him once more and tensed up. Once it was overhead, Cain launched himself straight up, landing lightly in the bay.Cain Dracus:"Get us to Csaplar! I am not going to disappoint my master." he wheezed. The two Assault Transports streaked over the frozen landscape, heading towards the Chiss Capital of Csaplar.

Caspian hasn't experienced much in regards to the galaxy at large, he had seen aspects of violence and the attrocities that brings could deal out against other beings, yet nothing prepared him for the sight that greeted his eyes. A dark smoke cloaked and billowed about his vessel and once passed before him dotted about the sky were grey ominous hulking craft with their angry wasp like fighters routinely busying about their business. What happened here wasn't a battle. There hadn't been a fight, this was worse, this was a complete subjugation of a world. With the forces amassed who would dear to stand against this tyrannical monster.
New to the universe he may be, but he knew enough about the Chosen as a species to know they were prideful and smart and once had risen to considerable power. They had military might and heritage, and all this had been quashed, and for the first time in a long time Caspian tasted the unfamiliar tang of dread and fear.
Only traveling down to the surface would reveal what had transpired here, he formulated a plan, one in which he would not be remaining on Csilla for longer than necessary. He had been called, nah, summoned by the force, and if this was his task, his duty to defend the helpless then he knew that against whatever this adversary was, this mechanical might, he doubted he would succeed in the task alone. Gunning the engines he made a speedier approach than normal and set the craft down on a ridge over looking the town, he would have further to travel but dropping into the city wouldn't be inconspicuous, so he resigned himself to longer travel by foot.

At the cloning facility that had been constructed in the snowy wastelands of Csilla, shuttles were landing, unloading troops, equipment, and supplies. Engineers set up the cloning pods and CEDFFO men watched over the site. Seeing as it was underground and had sensor dampeners, it would be safe from bombardments, like all the other structures on the planet. In Ac’Siel, men began clearing out some of the scum left behind by the war. There would be a no-tolerance policy towards less than savory characters. Pirates were shot on sight, while bounty hunters were captured in order to clone them. A Clone Army, bred to fight, would be useful on the front lines. At the same time, hyperspace beacons were being assembled in order to facilitate easy travel to key locations. Underground, the carriage lines were being systematically replaced with hovertrains that could streak between locations at levels of speed similar to a TIE striker.

Ever since the Infinite Imperium delegation’s visit to Csaplar, the suits that they had provided were being reverse engineered in the lab. Recently, that process had been completed, and complete schematics were being sent to factories across the Oversector. Already, the first batches of suits were ready to be deployed, though the Grand Moff had ordered them to wait until the first 3 batches were complete in order for the frontline units to be fully equipped. New, updated weapons were also being prepared. It was, in essence, a complete overhaul of the Chiss Military Forces. While the suits were being prepared, completed ones were being stored at a secret facility in an unmarked location on Csilla, being shipped to the planet in convoys of transports before being loaded onto a hovertrain that connected directly to a restricted sub level of the military base. Secrecy was very important for this project, so Vlusu took every precaution in it.

Ac'siel was the second largest city upon the Chiss homeworld of Csilla. It was here, that General Nytherias Nuruodo of the CEDF Army was based out of with several family Phalanx's at his command. While he had heard and seen the news regarding the rise of the Sword and Shield Dominion party, he had thus far remained neutral within the political infighting. His domain was the field of battle, not the pit of venomous snakes known as politicians. His concerns were always, first and foremost, upon protecting the Chiss and combating the dangers that lurked within the dark abyss of the Unknown Regions. Thus it was, that Nytherias had never been a particularly ardent supporter of the First Order or the Empire of the Hand. The former merely sought to strengthen their power with Chiss assets and technology so as to be able to conquer the galaxy. While the later was more concerned with maintaining the First Order's status quo so long as the so called special administrative zone meant more power for the individual in charge of the famed Empire's revival.
Thus, he had offered no assistance nor opposition to the purported goals of the Sword and Shield Dominion. Especially with more and more reports from his scouts coming in of strange activity within the deepest reaches of the Unknown Regions. It was these reports, that Nytherias intended to bring up with the leader of this new government that had risen to power on Csilla. It would be a test to see just how committed this Admiral-Laureate Tennyson was to the aims and goals of her party. Either a true believer or a false claimant to the throne, so to speak. For now, Nytherias remained seated behind his desk, R2Q5 nearby in silence as the astromech poured over countless amounts of data. Vice-Admiral Ilerian Nuruodo, Nytherias' cousin, was laid out on one of the sofa's in the office. Getting some well deserved rest after the increasing number of scouting missions she was running and overseeing with the limited resources they had available. A fact which might change following this meeting with the Admiral-Laureate

Not long after her meeting with the Imperial ambassador, Tennyson commenced a "Victory tour" of the major cities of Csilla before she would announce her intent to move against the Chiss hold outs in the rest of Chiss space. Ac'siel was the first stop (outside of Csaplar) and as fortune would have it, a ranking CEDF officer was stationed. The woman had not had the chance to meet him before her rise to power, but would correct that mistake now. Tennyson had heard of Nytherias' skills and exploits and would want him on her side as she rebuilt the Chiss and forged them further into her image. The meeting had been arranged and now that Tennyson had arrived in the city, it was her top priority.
Accompanied by her daughter, Endelyn, Vice-Admiral Rothchild, Grand Watcher Kuvira, and Chief Enforcer Kyoshi. The later two had gained their titles recently as a new organization of Force users began to take shape in the capital. An organization geared to fit Tennyson's personal philosophy on how the Force should be used. But that would likely not come up in the matters to be discussed in this meeting.
The door to Nytherias' office slid open as Tennyson and her party entered. Her eyes took in the whole room, moving from point to point, till they finally rested on the man before her. A small smile graced her lips.
=Tennyson= General Sabosen'ytheria'snuruodo, I presume. I have heard much about you.

As soon as the door had started sliding open, Ilerian was up on her and presenting a salute to the Admiral-Laureate. A action drilled into her over her life, to the point it had become a habit for her to do without thinking. Nytherias smiled as his attention rose from the datascreen on his desk to the opening door, motioning for his cousin to be at ease. The woman quickly adjusting her stance as Nytherias rose from his seat as Tennyson and her party entered the room You would presume correctly, Admiral-Laureate Fehlaten'nys'ondrin. Please, take a seat... He motioned to the 5 seats arranged in front of his desk, with Ilerian moving over from the couch to take a seat behind the desk next to Nytherias. Setting the two groups opposite one another as Nytherias took his own seat again. His glowing red eyes studying the individuals that sat before him. He had read dossiers on many of those present, some more in depth than others. With only the Grand Watcher and Chief Enforcer remaining relative mysteries. An aide came in and place a tray of glasses on one side of the desk, alongside a pitcher of glacial water, before taking his leave again I hope the stories have been kind to me... Likewise, I have heard much and more about yourself Admiral-Laureate. You've become something of an influential public figure in recent weeks, if not months. An interesting turn of events for someone of your skill and renown... He picked up a glass after filling it with some water and took a sip, to allow Tennyson time to respond to his comments

Tennyson moved over to the center of the indicated seats, and sat. So did Rothchild and Endelyn, but Kuvira and Kyoshi remained standing, flanking the Admiral-Laureate. Kuvira seemed to be stairing off into the distance while Kyoshi watched each of the unfamiliar occupants in the room with an almost accusatory glare. Rothchild crossed his legs after quietly filling three more glasses of water for himself and his Chiss companions. Endelyn sat and watched with a far friendlier gaze than Kyoshi, she seemed to be sponging up all the information that was being conveyed in the conversation, even and possibly especially, the nonverbal. But Tennyson stared straight ahead at the general, sizing him up and making note of small details, such as the neatness of his uniform or how many strands of hair had fallen out of place through out his day. All this happened in a few moments, but the impressions gained would last a long time. Tennyson soon smiled, a little wider and friendlier.
=Tennyson= And likewise I hope the tales you have heard of me are equally as kind. But one thing about you has truly caught my attention. You did not openly declare support one way or another during the transition of power. Instead you focused on your work and have remained in the office despite what the citizens chose. I like that. Even if it was just you playing it safe, that is also commendable. But I need someone like you. Someone untainted by politics. My companions and I all had to wade into that quagmire to ensure change and progress for the Chiss people could be accomplished. I need someone unscathed by it's foul stench to be an unbiased voice in my council. Someone like you.
She now took a sip of her water, waiting for a reply.

Nytherias remained undisturbed by the glare from Kyoshi, mainly due to the fact that his attention was focused upon Tennyson. A small smile forming as she spoke of his decision to remain in office despite the results. He took another sip of his water, weighing up his response as the woman asked him to be apart of her council. Ilerian turning her attention from the smiling young woman known as Endelyn and casting a side long glance toward her cousin I can't say the tales have all been too kind... You've certainly made yourself plenty of enemies among some of the ruling families that have profited greatly from Imperial stewardship. Many of them now find themselves in vastly reduced positions... More than once, he'd turned away those seeking intervention from him and his forces on both sides of the election until the vote had been cast and the people decided. My work is far greater and more important than the politics of the day Admiral-Laureate. When you reach the rank of General within the Defence Force, you put aside your house colours and don the white uniform. A sign that you are for the Chiss, and not your house... And that has always been my guiding mantra. Politicians come and go, and shout out their ideology to try and sway the people for their own power... I care not for individual power. Only what strengthens our people as a whole... He took another sip of his water, before setting the glass aside and steepled his fingers as he leaned forward against the desk And right now, the Sword and Shield Dominion strengthens our people. Provided you keep true to the promises you made, of course... But you are correct, I am untainted by politics, I am a man of the military and practicality. Action over honeyed words. I make no promises or claims to sugar coat my opinion. And my focus will always be upon the threats that seek to try and escape the unknown. So as long as these are acceptable conditions to you... Then you can consider my response to be acceptance of such a position.

Tennyson's smile widened as Nytherias accepted her offer. All the while he came under scrutiny by her companions. One by one, they all gave their own subtle signals that he could be trusted. And after she had received the last judgment, a slight shift behind her as Kyoshi widened her stance, Tennyson spoke.
=Tennyson= I am glad you have agreed. And I would surround myself with Sycophants if I didn't wish to take heed the council, however bluntly put, of my Inner Circle. I need people who are not afraid to speak their minds, especially when they are such strong champions for the Chiss people. She motions to Rothchild who produces a data pad detailing the next several months of Tennyson's plans. And as such I will need your fleet and army to assist me. Their are still troubling hold outs of the Empire of the Hand who refuse to hand over power peacefully. They have dug in on Nirauan. Once we secure that planet, and remove the oposition from power their, we will easily ensure the unity of the Chiss people.

He remained untroubled by the judging gazes and stares he had received as he declared his support to the Sword and Shield Dominion. He had nothing to hide from those that Tennyson trusted and already made up her Inner Circle so far. If they were to probe his past military record, they would find only the service history of a dedicated officer. Almost unblemished save for the repeated reprimands he received for his constant requests to have more resources allocated to securing the Unknown Regions. He gave a slight smile then, accepting the datapad from Rothchild, so that he could begin reviewing the plans that the Admiral-Laureate had set out to achieve. His gaze lifting up to meet the woman's as Tennyson mentioned Empire of the Hand forces on Nirauan needing a more forceful removal Such an action will not be easy... The Empire of the Hand is not like to give up even now that they have lost. We will have to put boots on the ground and clear out their fortresses, so that we do not needlessly kill civilians caught in the crossfire between the two sides... It is doable, and I will lend my forces to the offensive. As long as we execute this properly, we can save as many civilians as possible and not needlessly lose too many lives. How long before you intend to move upon Nirauan?

Nodding in responce Tennyson put down the glass she had been drinking from.
=Tennyson= No, it wont be easy. Especially with the cowards using the civilian populations as shields. Our strikes must be precise and quick. Long and drawn out sieges are unacceptable, as they will siphon supplies from the civilian population to keep their house Phalanxes fed. But with your distinguished service record and reputation for only wishing the betterment of our society, I feel you are just the man to get this job done clean and quick. Of course you will also have my fleet's Marines at your disposal and my fighters and bombers for close air support. I intend to move against Nirauan within the week, once the ultimatum I sent them for unconditional surrender has expired.

Swift and precise. A tall order for an operation such as this, but Nytherias knew that she was correct. The longer the fight was drawn out, the more costly it would become to take Nirauan. He turned his head slightly toward Ilerian then, giving a sidelong glance at her Have the fleet ready to leave within the next two days...
Yes General... With that, Ilerian rose from her seat and made her way out of the office to begin preparations. Nytherias shifted his gaze back fully upon Tennyson then. He was almost certain that she would receive no response from thee ultimatum. And if she did, it would be a resounding no Within a week it is then... My forces will be ready to strike. Once we secure Nirauan, then we can get back to what the Chiss should be doing... Keeping everyone safe. He picked up his glass and had a drink, draining the last of the water before setting the glass down again Is there anything else I can do for you while you are here? I am sure you have plenty of others clamoring for your attention right now... The Aristocra's more than most I suspect. Be careful in your dealings with them Fehlaten'nys'ondrin. A warning I suspect you don't need, but one I will provide anyway.

The smirk returned to her face as the General mentioned the wealthy upper class of Chiss society. She waved her hand dismissively.
=Tennyson= Their opinion matters little to me. Once we have made an example of the resistance of Nirauan, I will continue to ensure, that they are likewise removed from power. I have no time for bickering Aristocrats with their own privet armies. They will be disarmed or incorporated into our already standing military. Our forces must be truly united if we are to present a likewise front to those who seek us harm. Tennyson stood to leave, her entourage following suit. But she stopped, remembering something she had forgotten to mention. Oh, and general, keep your perpetration quiet, they think that they have two weeks to prepare... I'll make it clear, once and for all, that the Chiss no longer wait.

Tennyson's response might have raised eyebrows for many. The Aristocra's had been an important part of Chiss society for years, leading their families and guiding them forward. Of any change that Tennyson envisioned so far, that would be the hardest. But it was not exactly a matter that particularly concerned him. His relm of expertise was the military, and having a more united armed forces could only benefit the Chiss. He leaned forward as Tennyson and her retinue rose up to leave. Her comment this time drawing a reaction from him. Purely a subtle lift of his eyebrows before they returned to their normal resting place As you wish Admiral-Laureate. I shall move our forces quietly... It had been a long time since the Chiss had last disregarded their more retaliatory ways. The most famous case being when Thrawn left the Ascendancy and went off to join the Galactic Empire. Now it looked like the Sword & Shield Dominion would be widely adopting this stance. A change which he was not all that opposed to. There were definitely threats out there that necessitated action instead of reaction given the damage that could be caused and prevented

Above the frigid ice locked surface of the planet, three balls of rock and solar dust entered orbit and began to super-heat as the planet's atmosphere resisted their descent, granting the comets fiery tails that trailed behind them. Each headed on a collision course for surface, destined to impact the ice and sputter from existence if they didn't burn up completely before striking the ground. Before that happened, a yorik-trema attached to each of the three comets disconnected, releasing spindly legs used as landing gear and unlatching arrest tentacles. The organic ships that looked like molted balls of flesh with long whip like tails, separated from the streaking comets and began their own rapid descent to the surface, still playing the part of solar debris. They came in hard and fast, relying on a last minute pulse from their dovin basals to stop them from striking the ground. The bio-engineered shuttles hovered over the ice, then re-extended a series of six segmented legs that pierced the ice and lowered the main body of the craft to the frozen floor. Molleung worms punched into the icy sheet and pierced down into a subterranean tunnel network.
Organic tubes appeared to almost pump their load into the tunnel, spewing one disguised infiltrator after another, until all thirty had been deposited. They were garbed in a warm layer of clothing, though it was unnecessary as their ooglith masquers provided adequate protection against the elements. It did help that they were now beneath the surface. Once all teams had arrived, they began to disperse.
Even during the height of the alliance between the Praetorite and the Ascendency, there was no information on the Chiss subterranean network in which most of their people lived. It would take time but the eventual plan was to develop a working knowledge of the network and determining where the major settlements were located.
When the teams had dispersed and were a safe distance away from the shuttles they had arrived on, the yorik-trema began to shudder and shake. Their outer layer of ablative skin began to pulsate and stretch, until finally each of the three organic craft exploded outwards, immolating in small blasts of flame and molten rock. The self destruction sealed the holes they had punched into the ice, and obliterated any trace of their arrival. The snow and ice took care of the rest.

Within a week of dispersion, the infiltrating teams were already providing reliable data to Praetorite high command. Mostly detailed maps and information regarding the Chiss family structure and the houses that ruled over the planet and its peoples.
For now the orders were clear, stay out of involvement of the civil war taking place. This was an intelligence gathering operation, not designed to influence or exploit, though obviously now would be the perfect opportunity to do so. The fact was that they didn't care much about Csilla and its people, or what government ruled them. Obviously the Praetorite had been more partial to the Ascendency, who had promoted peace and stability within the Unknown Regions, but that wasn't to say that another organization wouldn't be as equally useful to their own agenda. Simply put this was about keeping tabs on a potential neighbouring threat. If the new government, assuming they wrested power from the current Chiss government, ended up pursuing a policy of aggression towards the Yuuzhan Vong, the Praetorite wanted to be the first to know.
Every day it was becoming easier for the members of Domain Yin, playing the pivotal role of their acting career. They looked like Chiss, they conversed with other Chiss, shared meals and talked politics, all while pretending to be something they weren't. It was the ultimate cultural exchange, even if it was only one culture that was doing all the learning.

OOC at the risk of being bombed out of existiance
*A Clawcraft descends thru the atmosphere, buffeting the the rapid descent. As quickly as the heat builds up against the shields it disapates and the craft rockets thru the cold frigid air. Using its sensors it follows a old nav beacon to the outskirts of some old ruins, worn away by time. The plasteel fabrications of old temporary structures are half buried in snowdrifts but the remnants of an old civil war era fort seem to poke up thru the terrain. Using its repulsive lifts as giant snow fans the craft descends onto the remains of a makeshift landing platform, the snow and ice creaking loudly below.*
*Theres silence for a second as the craft shuts down, the only sound the howling of the wind across the snow drifts. The cockpit hatch opens and a solitary figure emerges fully armored with a Black cloak flowing around his shoulders, his armored boots crunching into the snow. At his side a lightsaber hangs from a belt, opposite it a charred pistol. He takes a look around at the dilapidated structure as memories assail his mind. Reaching back into the fighter he pulls out a backpack, slips it over his shoulder and moves towards the base*
—- Several hours later ——
*the man sits in a large tent, shielded from the wind and snow, a heater keeping the inside a hospitable temperature. Outside the long flagpole hosts an Ascendancy flag. He waits for people who may or may not come*

*The man exits the tent as he hears the approaching freighter. He should have brought flares to guide her down but there wasn’t a lot of room in the singular fighter. He grabs one of the sabers off his belt and ignites it, the brilliant white blade providing a point of reference. He jogs to the area he scouted a bit earlier and guides the craft in. The abandoned ferrocrete of the landing pad had been hard to find initially, and he had almost taken a tumble down an embankment but after locating he had done his best to make sure the thing was still solid.*
*As the craft settles the three occupants make their way down the ramp. The first pair are older, dressed in cold weather gear and heavy parkas, while the second is the same age as the pilot of the fighter craft, she dressed in long robes not seemingly bothered by the cold (anyways). All are Chiss, and the pilot reveals himself as one as well removing his helmet*
‘I cannot believe you had us drag this relic from that scrap heap in the Bothawui system and had us just waltz right in. I thought you mad, but Kara said to trust in the Force.’
‘Adams… father. It is good to see you again’ Benad’ominic’kanuroudoo, better known as Dominicka says, hugging and kissing his wife Kara. ‘I never thought I’d be back here either. That rust bucket’ he says pointing at the ship ‘is one of the few things left that I personally own. Much has changed these past twenty years. No longer my title, no longer even the Ascendancy or the CEDF, simply a man and his family. Is the cargo intact?’
*The group makes their way back into the ship. Besides the dozens of crates but one really large one. *
‘Yes husband although why you have a large prefabricated ‘bar and lounge’ in a crate is beyond me.’ His wife says removing her hood. Her hair has certainly greyed but she still remains the fierce Jedi Master he married over thirty years ago.
‘Well one of our ersatz imperial allies, Captain Bekker, had several of these to operate his mobile Holonet operation from. They had built in communications terminals, a small barracks room up top, and of course he had the ships filled with ale. I knew the location of this one had been left behind on Bothawui all those years ago gathering dust. Sadly… it’s a start. Help me unload it so the droids can start assembling it.’
