"Thank you, I tell Ayla with a smile, adding, Good evening, Ayla. I hope we have a chance to speak more another time. Turning my attention to Mace, I consider her offer briefly before smiling as I say, So long as it is no inconvenience, I would greatly appreciate it." Tchin, my right lekku, swishes behind my back as I nod to agree that Mace and I should make the journey together.
As we set out, I clasp my hands behind my back, suggesting, "Why don't we stop at your quarters first? Smiling, I explain my reasoning, That way you will be able to seize a quiet moment sooner than you would were you required to retrieve them and then deliver them? Frowning as I debate pursuing a more direct line of questioning than it often seems those in the Mist Order are comfortable with, I ask, tentatively to make it plain I will back away from the inquiry with no hard feelings or need for debate should Mace not wish to delve into the subject at the moment, Can you tell me more about the possible lead you and Atlantis believe may have been mishandled? Notes, I think to myself, may not reveal nuances that a verbal account might, and it may therefore help me to understand the situation better were either Mace or Atlantis to describe their thoughts and how it was they believe they mismanaged their investigation. Anything you can tell me could illuminate my own investigation, but I will certainly understand if you would prefer to let your notes speak for themselves instead."

Smiling at Serrin’s words, Ayla inclined her head before reassuring the Twi’lek factually, “I am sure that we will have ample time next time . . .” Even if Ayla was certain that she would be quite busy with other things she had to deal with, she’d try her best, and hardest to talk more with Serrin, after all, it was always interesting to discover other approaches, or even perspective in everything. Ayla soon looked in her cousin’s direction, and while usually Mace’s thoughts were easily depicted, at least by her, currently it wasn’t the case. Ayla didn’t need to figure out why it wasn’t the case right now. For one, her shoulder was aching, and also she was just exhausted. Quite honestly as well, a lot of things had been draining her lately, and what she felt earlier from Crystal Kayne could have been a potential recipe for disaster. Alas only time could tell, and not wanting to really be a downer right now, Ayla kept her thoughts of hers under wrap. And right now, whether her cousin decided to share further with Serrin, that was something that Ayla actually couldn’t have a guestimate on, because that was actually the most important matter right now . . . Mace, who had been more focused onto Serrin as they stepped out of the dining hall, had completed bypassed what her cousin was thinking right there. Either way, it wouldn’t have changed that much, for actually it would be on the way that she would have a precise idea, and perhaps have made a decision, to disclose everything or not. Who knew? “My quarters it is, then . . .” Said Mace without reluctance at all, not that she had been reluctant to begin with but now that she thought about it, perhaps it was a convenient route to undertake, but at the same time, something about what Serrin said made her smile slightly. “I appreciate it, but somehow a part of me would argue that you might be the one who needs a quiet moment, or will be needing as much of those in the foreseeable future.”As Mace was leading the way to her own quarters, her ears were still trained on what Serrin had actually asked her, and she had to admit that it was refreshing in a way to be asked questions straight to the point, not that she wasn’t used to it, because she was, but from outsiders, not really no. Lifting her gloved hand briefly to indicate that she needed a moment, Mace stopped in front of her quarters and passed through the bio scan to unlock the door with a swoosh and gesturing to Serrin to walk on in first. “Please, after you . . .”

Rubbing my eyes after what seems like an eternity spent scrolling page upon page of financial transactions, legal paperwork, and other electronic data related to the late Sike and his business holdings, or suspected business holdings in some cases, I push the laptop dataterminal aside with a sigh, looking across the table at my fellow Jedi, Knight Pakwa Sayen from Felucia, tasked by Aerandir to aid the Mist Order and me in the investigation into the crimes Andros is suspected by some of perpetrating, and ask, "Anything?"
Nodding, Pakwa turns her dataterminal around and slides it across the table, frowning as she says, "Well, more maybe something than definitely something. Remember the three companies that stood out as candidates for the information broker? I took a break from Sike's records and starting digging into the financials of the three companies, and when those looked relatively clean I decided to peek at the furniture and floral companies shipping records. On the basis that, if either were involved in the information business or transport of illegal . . ."
Interrupting Pakwa with a gentle smile, by now familiar with the Sullustan's habit to tangent endlessly in conversation, I tap the screen of her dataterminal and prompt her, "And you found. . ."
Leaning forward excitedly, Pakwa explains, "Well, that the floral company does quite a bit of importing and exporting. All plants and flowers and so on, obviously, but it you look at the more frequent destinations, and cross reference those with the . . ."
Rubbing my temple, I smile and circle an index finger in the air to try and keep Pakwa from deviating too far from her point in her effort to make it.
"Sorry, Pakwa says with a laugh, taking a deep breath while looking upwards in what looks to be an effort to gather her thoughts before continuing, In brief, I believe that the floral company may be the most likely suspect for the information broker. They simply travel more than their sales of the products from many of their frequent destinations would require, or support. It could be nothing, naturally, poor business planning, but they have been in business for quite some time here, and with the fact that they do so much business with SIke or his various business holdings, it seems iffy, no?"
Resting my chin atop my left fist as I scan through the information Pakwa had compiled, I am quiet a moment before nodding and agreeing, "It does at that. I believe we should pay the Enchanted Florist a visit, hmmmm?"
Pakwa, stretching her arms overhead with a yawn, says, "We should. But in the morning after we sleep. I can't look at any more banking records or shipping manifests tonight."
After Pakwa leaves, sleep and the dreams it often brings not something I look forward to these days, I press on with the investigation alone, deciding to review the list of suspects once more, cross-referencing the suspects with the florist and other Sike holdings to see if any links are discovered which could narrow the list of suspects down . . .

Master Roma's cross-referencing work with the list of suspects that has been assembled during the course of the investigation into Sike's murder against available records from The Enchanted Florist, if performed exhaustively enough, will reveal a number of connections. The florist shop's reputation as one of Umgul's finest and it's number of years in operation, of course, make the connections entirely coincidental, meaningless in and of themselves, only the number of possible threads tying the florist to multiple suspects in the case and to multiple organizations or beings tied to Sike or criminal organizations in general suggesting that the florist may be connected in some nefarious rather than benign way to the recent string of murders and plot to implicate the Vyridian twins in them.
Khromy and Evir Anders, as well as Lyov Entin and Helaine Orlov, both couples brought to the attention of the investigation early in when census records were searched for recently arrived individuals to Umgul who moved into a particular area of Umgul City, are included on the floral shop's mailing list, for instance, though a search of the shop's financial records reveals that only the former have any verifiable transactions with the florist, all of which appear legitimate and are in amounts that fit the items listed in those transactions. Entin and Orlov, on the other hand, appear to have no traceable business dealings with the florist shop, and possibly more damningly, appear to have only been added to the shop's mailing list after the murder of Sike.
Potentially adding another set of coincidences to the mounting pile of them digging deeper into the florist shop might turn up if Master Roma is thorough enough, a search of the shop's shipping records will show that a large number of the shop's more recent shipping manifests show that ships sent offworld to pick up plants or supplies coincide with the arrival on Umgul of known criminal associates such as the mercenaries employed by Arezou and Kilivian as bodyguards.

Dressed for work, at least for her meeting, which really was the most important aspect for her that afternoon, Crystal found herself in the kitchen of the residential building to check on what she had started that early morning. Seeing that it was braised perfectly, of course she made enough and more for all the residents of the Academy, she put the finishing touches for the braised shaak roast and kept it warm for later consumption if necessary as well. But it was good enough, after she had taken a bite to taste it. She of course had been assisted by a cooking droid and the regular chef that ran the cantina here but other than that it was quite uneventful. Checking the time on her chrono, Crystal noticed that she still had time, and even could stay longer, she grabbed her datapad to send a message to Atlantis and hopefully he was done with the tour more or less. Usually Crystal would have contacted him by different means, but as per habit today, since there were a few people present here, she just sent him the follow.
Hitting the send button, Crystal made her way to the dinning hall, with a few plates accompanied by the droid who had the cutleries, and the dish for for a few people in a serving plate. "Grazie." (thank you) She told the droid in her family's language, as apparently the droid had been wanting to learn and understand due to hearing her and Ryan, who were related, talk in that language that was all but basic from time to time when both of them were here.
Rearranging the plates in the circular table that could seat six people, Crystal figured that Atlantis would insist that Mahela would stay again and also Saoirse, of course. Table set up, with the dish in the middle, and refreshments, Crystal walked up to one of the windows and looked outside the misty environment pensively...

As Saoirse, on Nick's left side and holding onto his hand, with Mahela doing the same on the right, is tugged along by the excited young boy into the dining hall, she spots Crystal looking out of one of the windows, so calls out cheerfully to her, "Hey there Crystal! Back from your meeting already? Or haven't left yet? Catching a scent of the meal that has been prepared, Saoirse says, Something smells good! and then asks, Will you be joining us for lunch?"
Mahlea, a bit more observant at times than her friend, thinks that there is something about Crystal's posture that suggests she is preoccupied, looks over and exchanges a look with Saoirse to suggest that her friend might want to take her rambunctiousness down a notch, sighing silently when she is rewarded with a confused expression that makes it clear Saoirse has not picked up on the subtle clues in Crystal's posture. Rather than a verbal greeting, Mahela simply smiles as she gives Crystal a wave with her free hand when the woman turns from the widow after Saoirse's exuberant greeting.

Ever since Crystal had come to realize that one of her close friends had left, at first she thought that it was just a business trip or whichever. After all Elika was often hired by different people on different planets in the galaxy. Days became weeks, and that habit of hers of just staring at the mists became a regular thing. It did not help either that her other close friend had been asked to go on a business trip around the planet, but at least Crystal often heard from Lily. Elika was complete radio silence. Perhaps Crystal was hoping to find an answer in the mists, though in the back of her mind, she knew that was highly improbable. The worse part of this situation was that she couldn't exactly vent it all out to anyone that she considered close friends here on the planet, because she just knew that they, just like her were feeling that weight. Whether it was anguish, or just plain annoyance. In the end though, Crystal just hoped that she was alright. It was all she could wish for...
Not even hearing the incoming footsteps, Crystal had only snaped out of her current thoughts when she heard Saoirse's voice. Knowing that Crystal had to get over this, no matter what, she just smiled naturally. Crystal knew how to compartmentalize her true feelings most of the time, even if perhaps they had caught her previously. No trouble, she was certain that she could cover that which was why she smiled at both Saoirse and Mahela who were both holding Nickala's hands. "It looks like you two, as well, fell under his innocent charms." Crystal did not mean that in the worse way, or anything, it was just that Nick was young, and there was always something about him that could draw in people. Focusing her attention onto Saoirse with a smile as she nodded. "Yes, I shall join you, if you don't mind having me." Dubiously looking at Atlantis wondering if he had even addressed her mishap that she had sent to him a few moments ago, she did not linger too long on that, as in any case, she knew that she had a back up plan if necessary.
"Meeting is still a little later, and knowing the people in attendance, it won't be early nor will it be late." Crystal explained as after all Andros was the kind to keep a tight schedule, and everything was fixed to his availability too. If he mentioned that particular time, it would be that particular time unless any changes, but he would still give enough notice.
"I hope you eat braised shaak roast?" Hoping indeed that they were fine with that dish, Crystal nonetheless also said. "I am sure that something else can be prepared if necessary." She reassured them, except this time, she wouldn't be able to do it herself, and would probably get the cook to do it because that would make her out of time and she would have to change again after taking a short. She did not have any other clothes. Even if and when she freshened, she had access to Atlantis' private quarters, she never really left any clothes there.
Glancing at Nick with a smile, Crystal squatted down to look at him knowingly. "Made one of your favorites today, will you stay with us or will you rather wait for your friends to share the meal with them?" She asked teasingly with a warm smile just looking at him, even if again he was young, the kid just seemed to have that affect on people that would make their worries often time be a distant memory...

Back in Saoirse's room, after he had announced his plans to have another bed moved in there, a big part of him knew that he had made the right choice, it was the only choice quite honestly. His gut had told him to probably do something, especially after what he had felt last night, when he was in the dean's office. The currents of the Force were peaceful, and then all of a sudden they weren't. And in the back of his mind, he knew that it has something to do with Saoirse's friend herewith present. He had just looked at Mahela with a knowing and understanding expression before inclining his head slightly. From experience, and because he was also from time to time faced with that, Atlantis knew what it was like to lose a friend, or just not be there for them, and then feel guilty afterwards. He knew all of that, and he didn't want them to go through any of that.
He supposed he would have to see how everything unfolds in the future...
Atlantis had actually been walking behind the trio, as Nick was holding Saoirse's hand and Mahela's, he had that amused smile until right about they got to the dining hall, and he noticed Crystal standing there. Atlantis said nothing at all, it's not that he couldn't, it was just he knew that whatever he ended up saying, he knew that it wouldn't change a thing at all. He knew it, Crystal knew it, but he also knew that Crystal knew that he had his support through and through, and that whenever she needed to talk, he'd be there. Instead of talking lately though, Crystal just resolved herself to just stare right in front of her most of the times. Preferring to not just stand there actually, Atlantis walked towards the table and just pulled back all of their seats and since he was standing behind Crystal currently, he had that quick moment where he caught Mahela's gaze and just smiled slightly before blinking once to let her know that he was thankful but it would be alright.
Pointing at Crystal and then the covered dish in the middle of the table, while he looked at Saoirse and Mahela, Atlantis mouthed She made it. Before he moved his jacket and both of his lightsabers on his wrist, sliding them down to the pockets of his jacket letting his Force signature be unmasked with him no longer 'holding' his lightsaber as he went to hang that on the peg.
Looking at Nickala with a warm affectionate gaze, he was still holding both hands and still was smiling.
Pondering a moment about the question that was asked to him by Miss Crystal, Nickala thought because he really felt like he was in a big conundrum right now. Have his meal now before everyone with his favorite limmie player and in a way that would make him feel guilty. Or just wait for his friends to come back from the farmers' field.
"I think that, I will wait for my friends. While he said that statement, he nodded and released both hands he was holding, and handed up hugging Crystal to thank her. Thank you Miss Crystal, everyone will also love the food, I just know it!" Laughing softly and stepping back, he looked up at Saoirse and Mahela quickly hugging their leg each before he stepped back again. Enjoy the food! It's the best I have ever tasted." Jumping on the spot and looking at Atlantis calling, "Master, I am going to tell Rikki and Uto at the farmers fields!"
Atlantis looked at him with a smile and nodded "Okay Nick, but you three be careful, okay and make sure that Rikki isn't too distracted." Seeing the nod from Nick was enough to let him know that he heard that loud and clear and definitely understood, again he looked at everyone and bowed respectfully before zooming out of the dining hall. Shaking his head, Atlantis chuckled briefly and looked at the seats telling them. "Please sit down." Since mostly they were all the guests to begin with, Atlantis grabbed the serving spoon and fork to put the food into each plates all the same quantity, and balanced between the shaak and the fungi, along with greens and noodles.

After Crystal jokes that it looks as though they have fallen under the spell of Nick's boyish charm, which makes it sound as though that is something of a regular occurrence, Saoirse and Mahlea both smile and practically talk over one another. Saorise manages to get out, "Who could resist that lil' guy . . ." before Mahela begins speaking as well since she had thought Saoirse was finished doing so,
Mahela nods as she says, "He is very sweet. . ." before Saoirse, not yet realizing that they are both now talking at the same time, continues what she was saying.
"He's gonna be a real heart breaker, Saoirse says, giving Atlantis a wink as she adds, just like someone else I know."
Mahela, having become aware of the fact she and Saoirse were speaking over one another, had elected to stop so that their listeners were spared the task of trying to untangle what each was saying, but is the first to reply to Crystal when she says that she will be joining them for the meal provided there are no objections, saying, "Oh, we don't mind at all, we would . . ."
Finishing her friend's thought, Saoirse cheerfully says, "Love to have ya! The more the merrier, right? We're both carnivores," she assures Crystal, who, after explaining that her meeting is later on in the day, had wanted to make sure that no one had issues with the meal that has been prepared. After Nick chooses to wait to eat when he can do so with his friends, Saoirse waves farewell to him along with Makena, neither of them being able to get a word out before the energetic youngling has bolted off.
As she and Mahela take their seats after Atlantis suggests that they do so, Saoirse, since Atlantis had silently made them aware of the fact that Crystal had prepared the braised shaak roast, smiles as she tells Crystal, "This looks amazing! So, you're a boxer, she just guesses that one as Crystal had been carrying combat gloves when she greeted them when they first arrived at the academy, a financial officer, and a cook? Do you have any other talents hidden up your sleeve?"
Saoirse, after she and Mahela both thank Atlantis for serving the roast out for everyone, picks up her knife and fork as she asks him, "How many different Orders of Jedi are there? Not sure that is clear, she explains how she arrived at the question in the hope that will make it easier to understand what she is asking, When we were talking about the ruins that were incorporated into the gardens outside, you mentioned that the Jedi Order that was here before was a satellite of the Emerald Order from Anobis, and this, she circles a finger in the air to indicate the academy, is the Mist Order. Are they all part of the Jedi Order, just on different worlds, or are there . . . she purses her lips, trying to think of the word she has in mind, then looks over at Mahela and asks her friend, What's that one word for when there's a main thing, and then things that branch off of it because they look at things a little differently?"
Mahela, who hadn't expected to be a active participant in the conversation since she doesn't want to distract Saoirse or interrupt her interactions with Atlantis or Crystal, covers her mouth with her napkin as she was caught mid-bite, finishes the bite before she ventures a guess as to what word, or in this case two words, Saoirse is looking for, "Ideological differences?"
Nodding with a grin, Saoirse pats Mahela's arm to thank her as she confirms, "Yep, that's the phrase I was looking for! Like most beings in the universe, Saoirse is familiar from her high school history classes with the basic outlines of what the Jedi of the Old Republic stood for and, in an even broader sense, what they believed in. Saoirse also understands from her history lessons how organizations can evolve over time, or even branch off into separate ones that are related to it but hold to different values or interpretations of their mission, and she wonders whether that might have happened to the Jedi Order, or if the different names are just reflective of the fact the Jedi have no central base of operation as they once had on Coruscant. Tilting her head to the side, Saoirse tries to polish her question up a bit more, I guess what I mean is, do they all believe in the same teachings, or do the different Orders of Jedi all have their own teachings that evolved from those of the Jedi Order? Leaning over a bit towards Mahela, she asks softly, Does that make sense?"
Mahela smiles supportively as she holds up a hand under the table and wiggles it from side to side to playfully suggest that her friend's question has at least a 50/50 chance of making sense to anyone other than her. Having known Saoirse as long as she has, Mahela thinks she has a good idea of what her friend is asking, but refrains from stepping in with an I think what she means is, as much because she believes Atlantis will be able to divine the meaning without her input as it is because she knows how much it irritates Saoirse when others do it to anyone.

Definitely a mini version of Atlantis. More enthusiastic though, and just energetic, Crystal knew that it went with Nick's age. But the kid seemed so selfless, and thought about the others first before his own self. It wasn't surprising though to Crystal knowing that Nick had been taken in from the orphanage in the City. Those were Atlantis' words, when the Mist Order had been contacted because one of the orphans had unwittingly created an incident that was impossible to explain without the aid of the Force. After having hugged Nick in return, Crystal stood up and watched the youngling bolt away to go find his friends.
Only after removing her jacket and taking her seat did Crystal look at Saoirse with a grateful smile before pursing her lips when that question came. "Depends on the day really." It was all she said about what other hidden talent she could have had. Besides one obvious that she wasn't really incline to share yet; her ability to manipulate the Force. But at least to prevent it from ever going in that direction, she did say which was anything but Basic. "Posso parlare un diferente lingua." Laughing softly and grabbing the napkin and placing that on her lap, after she thanked Atlantis for serving her the food, and both Saoirse, and Mahela, Crystal translated what she had just said. "It just means that I can speak a different language, and that is my father's family one, it's distinctive to them. You might hear me and my brother speak it from time to time whenever he comes around from the hospital." She informed them, and perhaps they knew, or in this case Saoirse would, she also did look at Atlantis with an amused smile, remembering exactly her reaction when she found out that he could speak that language as well. "Mister Heartbreaker here knows it too." Winking playfully, and perhaps they wouldn't be asking how or why Atlantis knew it, or perhaps they would, but she and he have been together for a while now that it wasn't in the realm of impossibility for him to pick up the language and know how to speak it.
Crystal began to eat and listened to the ongoing conversation, mainly Jedi business, which to be perfectly honest Crystal knew about, but preferred not to engage in that, she just looked at Mahela with a knowing smile and asked, "How did you two meet, and are you majoring the same thing as Saoirse?" Not really wanting to let her feel left out, and in a way while Crystal knew that Atlantis and Saoirse probably have plenty of things to talk about or discuss, she wondered how Mahela felt right this moment, which truly was one of the reasons why hopefully while the two talked there, she and Mahela could also talk about a different subject that did not involve them directly despite being a friend of a Force user, or a lover to one.
"That is of course you don't mind me asking?" Genuinely asking that question as after all Crystal knew that some people weren't incline to share a few things, like she was about her affinity, but at least right now, she figured, she'd engage a conversation with Mahela.

"Multilingual too? Saoirse asks with a grin when Crystal adds another talent to the already impressive list of them that have been revealed. That's pretty cool! Mahela speaks Togruti, she says, explaining, Her grandparents, who emigrated here with her to Umgul, taught her. Me? I just speak Basic, and have enough trouble with that, she laughs and crinkles her nose as she explains, I'm dyslexic, then, after taking a bite of her food, tells Crystal, This is delicious!"
Mahela, after Atlantis begins answering Saoirse's question about the different Jedi Orders, smiles when Crystal asks how she and Saoirse met, shaking her head as she says, "Oh, I don't mind at all. Inclining her head towards Saoirse, she explains, We met in our freshman year here at the university. I major in psychology, she answers Crystal's question about her major as it is also a part of the answer to the question of how they met, We were in the same introduction to psychology class, and wound up in the same study group too. Our professor's exams were mostly based on his lectures, but he would also have questions from supplemental reading material he provided. Saoirse, she continues after exchanging a look with her friend to make sure she is okay with Mahela going into more details and getting a shrug that confirms she does not mind, has a good memory, so had no problem with questions from the lectures, but she reads slowly because of her dyslexia, and sometimes needs help with comprehending what she reads. The study group was a pretty big one, she goes on, and wasn't always good at staying on topic, so Saoirse and I started just studying together."
Like many dyslexics, Saoirse also has attention deficit disorder, but Mahela decides to let her friend be the one to share that if she chooses to do so, and since she feels like her answer is going on too long, she smiles and briefly sums up the rest of her answer by saying, "Our friendship just developed naturally from spending time together I guess, at first just studying and then hanging out outside of school. Neither of us got along very well with our assigned roommates. Mine was more into partying than school, and I had to go to the library just to get any studying done. Saoire's roommate was a, she looks up as she tries to find a polite way to describe Saoire's roommate, well, let's just say she wasn't very tidy, and Saoirse likes to keep things neat and organized since it helps her stay focused. Smiling, she concludes, We asked to be reassigned to a room together, and here we are."
Taking a bite of her meal and then dabbing her lips with her napkin, Mahela, interested to hear how a Jedi Master and the planet's chief financial officer came to be together, asks Crystal, "What about you two? How did you and Atlantis meet? Smiling and repeating Crystal's proviso, Mahela adds, Provided you do not mind answering, naturally," as she too understands that not everyone is willing to open up to those they do not know well.

While Saoirse, and Atlantis talked, Crystal had her undivided attention on Mahela, while also eating from time to time. She had previously looked at Saoirse when she had revealed a fact about her. Crystal's look wasn't with sadness or her feeling sorry for the Zabrak woman, but more with understanding, and gratefulness for sharing that fact that honestly Crystal wouldn't have known if she weren't told. She did smile when it turned out that Saoirse enjoyed the food. Crystal wasn't one to brag, nor she liked saying that she could do that, or this. That wasn't her at all, she just did things because it either helped her to clear her mind, or because she had to. That was it.
Nodding faintly to Mahela to indicate that she was following along, even if Crystal wasn't directly looking at her because she was eating at the same time, she took in the information that was provided to her and even laughed knowingly when it came to the roommate situation before they ended up being assigned together, which Crystal assumed was now, she supposed. Though those talks of University did bring her memories back to the surface of when she was enrolled. The difference there when she was at the University of Coruscant studying finance, they weren't just two. There were a few of them, most were into law, and she had been the one mainly completely diverting from that area. Thinking back of the shenanigans that mainly was started by Lily and one of their other close friends, Kassidy, it just made Crystal smile, although yes, there was some partying but the difference there, at least they weren't living in a dorm and just took the decision to all move in together, because it was the natural thing to do with them knowing each other for so long.
Just one of those happy memories that surfaced.
Crystal, as Mahela was finishing talking, and asking a question to her about how she and Atlantis met, had been taking a sip of her drink before placing the glass down and leaning back against her seat with a knowing smile. "No, I don't mind at all." Crystal figured she'd put Mahela at ease as from what she had come to know this far, and mostly the difference between Mahela, and Saoirse in their personalities. It looked to her that Mahela was in a way, Saoirse's anchor. Glancing briefly at Atlantis with a warm smile, she actually took his hand that was on her side, and just grinned, she even squeezed his hand before putting hers back on the table. "He had just moved to Umgul, apparently." It was what she recalled, but definitely seemed about right. "I had been hired by the government a few days prior, and I could not believe the finance mess, that was due to my predecessor. I had spent three days clearing that out, and when I was finally done, I had walked out of the government building, seeing the then Senator of Umgul standing there, talking with Atlantis, and Mace." Perhaps Mahela did not know Mace, at all, but Crystal did not hesitate to inform her that Mace was one of the Jedi here as well with Atlantis.
"I did give the Senator my piece of mind, and told him how reckless he had been in allowing such thing to happen under his nose." The irritation she had felt that evening, she remembered it clear as day, as after all, she did also like order so to speak. "After my rant, Raan, the Senator, introduced me to both Atlantis and Mace, and I believe that both Raan and Mace probably perhaps knew that Atlantis would be the better person to calm me down, so when the two left me with the guy, who also found out that I had barely eaten those last three days, well he took me to a diner in the city." Picking up her fork again and looking at the food before her, Crystal had that smile on the corner of her lips. "That is where it all started."

Atlantis had taken his seat besides Crystal and just nodded when they all thanked him for serving there, he even poured some refreshments into their glass, and just picked up his fork and knife to eat. He looked at Saoirse, but also Mahela who had helped out her friend with words. As far as what Saoirse had asked him, it was actually understandable to him. Or at least he understood it to satisfy her curiosity the best way he could. Atlantis did store that information about Saoirse, when it came to her. He figured that when it came to him, he supposed it would be easy enough to just talk to her, and she would get his teachings. Now when it probably came to the archives here in the Academy, that would certainly be easily fixed. After all he had some experience with some 'disability' if he could put it that way with some of the younglings. Whether it was Rikki who was known to have a short attention span, to name one of them.
It might not have been the same thing, but Atlantis would make sure that it was adapted to the individuals. As long as he knew the issues, and now he did. How many Orders, that was a good question. It was a little complicated for the Mist Order, though in a way not so much, Atlantis guessed that depended on the personalities in the end.
"Well there is one Jedi Order, for clarity's sake, we'll call it that. And also for clarity's sake, the Mist Order here does not answer to it." That was the first point, at least, and hopefully that would be clear, or would be clearer when he explained the reasoning, but he supposed he would have to start from the start. "On any given world, there could be a presence of Jedi, but we'll call them Academies. Last I have heard, there was one in Ossus, and also in Corellia, but both of those Academies are under the Jedi Order's banner as a whole." Atlantis explained and just paused just to let her take it in. "Now back then the what was called the Emerald Order was definitely part of the Jedi Order, in the end it's all about the common good, and while the ideologies are relatively all the same, well in the end it actually depended on who was elected as High Councilor for the Jedi Order. Back then I wasn't seeing eye to eye with one of those High Councilors when the Jedi Order sent an envoy here to Umgul to extend an invitation for the Mist Order to join them."
Atlantis rubbed the root of his nose, and knew that it was all in the past, and this was now, but as far as he was concerned, well when Atlantis had been in communication with some of the Yavinites, which left him with a bad taste in his mouth. Atlantis had figuratively shut the door on the Yavinite High Councilor, and it's primary envoy. "Perhaps back then my ego got in the way, but I also wanted to see how far I could push the person who had originally contacted me. I am a Jedi, so of course I keep myself informed on the ongoing of Jedi business. Well let's just say that when Yavin still had an Academy, and when one of the Jedi from there was a High Councilor of the Jedi Order, I had asked for a seat on the council because hey if Yavin or Corellia had some of their Jedis in the High Council, why not Umgul, they represented the world they were in, and apparently that was the plan, I don't know. But I was turned down by the Yavinite, who said a few more things to me that I won't linger on. So I completely cut all forms of communication with the Jedi Order."
Atlantis just looked down momentarily, he knew it was all politics and whatever, and ego came to play but he figured, he would explain why the Mist Order at least wasn't part of the Jedi Order. "However, another High Councilor of the Jedi Order directly contacted me, and she," Atlantis paused a moment smiling. "Let's just say that if she had been the one who originally contacted me, it might have been a different matter entirely." Grinning at the thought, "I guess what I am trying to say is that, the Mist Order had recently been formed when I had just moved, the ideology remained the same, though yes did change from the old days. But all in all we all work for the common good. But how could I say yes to joining the Jedi Order when this one had just been created. I had no wish to be under the same room of that High Councilor who was belittling, and to him it was his way or the highway, and never took the chance to understand." Atlantis shook his head though his emotions remained constant, he certainly was over it, and he had no ill wishes. Fortunately though, he had formed some ties with a few people of the Jedi Order. "Some of the Jedis who got a wind of what went down understood, to the point that well I did tell them that while the Mist Order wasn't with the Jedi Order officially, if they needed my help on something, I would be happy to do so. And also those same people helped me out a way or another."
Jedi Master Serrin Roma one of them, who unfortunately lost her life here, and that Atlantis would never really entirely get over at all.
"But to answer your question I suppose. Ideological differences, no, they all align in the bigger picture. Then there are people like me who because of this or that reason will say no, and will be picky on who to help when contacted by the Jedi Order." Chuckling at the thought, and yes it could have been stupid or whatever, but like he had told Serrin back then in Corellia, how could he join something as large and be called in different part of the galaxy when his house wasn't clean yet. "I am a Jedi, but I am also still a human being with feelings, and when wronged or being shown disrespect, I certainly won't be chasing after them to gain their favors."
Feeling his hand being taken by Crystal, Atlantis looked down at her hand and smiled warmly and noticed that she and Mahela were having their own conversation too. Placing his hand on top of hers soon after on the table, he looked at Crystal with an arched eyebrow when he caught the part about him taking her to a diner in the City.

While Mahela and Crystal continue talking together, Saoirse eats heartily as she listens to Atlantis answer her question about the whole multiple Jedi Order names thing. The answer, which ultimately confirms her initial sense that the different names of the Jedi groups were related to the fact that the Jedi on the different worlds they are located on make their priority serving and protecting those worlds. There is more to it than that, however, and Saoirse frowns when Atlantis talks about how he was snubbed and treated with a lack of respect by one of the Jedi on the Order's High Council, which led Atlantis decide to sever ties, by and large, with the Jedi groups that chose to follow the High Council. Nodding with sympathetic frown when Atlantis goes on to say that there was one member of the High Council that, she guesses since Atlantis does not go into much detail save for the fact had it been the female High Councilor that had contacted instead of the Yavanite things may have gone differently, had treated him with the respect he deserved.
It seems strange to Saoirse that Jedi would not all treat one another with, at the very least, respect, given that they are all working towards the same thing, and it is even stranger to think there are Jedi like the Yavanite Atlantis was unfortunate enough to encounter who would be petty enough to deny Umgul's Jedi a voice on the council when the Jedi of other worlds were given one. What Atlantis says about being a Jedi, but also an individual with feelings, makes perfect sense, and she supposes that, since that will apply to every other Jedi, it should maybe not be so surprising, in the end, that things like differences of opinion, personalities, or any number of other factors, might cause rifts within the Orders ranks just as such things occur anytime individuals work together.
Saoirse had asked her question to learn whether there were any ideological differences in the various Orders, and from all that Atlantis had said she is left with the impression that, while there might be some variation in interpretation or whatnot here or there, overall the Jedi, no matter which individual Order they are in or whether or not they follow the High Council, share the same beliefs and goals. Not one to dwell much on politics, and guessing that Atlantis is not either, Saoirse grins when he has finished speaking and says, "Sucks that you met that di . . . other guy first, and not the other High Councilor, but, she shrugs, maybe that was for the best in the end? I mean, I don't know if you know more about it than me maybe, but does the High Council really ever, you know, lead the Jedi that follow them into anything? Frowning, not sure that makes sense, Saoirse tries again, I mean, I don't remember ever hearing about the Jedi Order doing anything as a whole. It seems to me more like, just like the Mist Order here on Umgul, the Jedi all kinda look after the worlds they are on. Shrugging, Saoirse admits, That could be totally wrong though. Maybe it's just I've never heard about the things they might have done."
After smiling appreciatively over at Crystal to silently thank her for making Mahela feel included and welcomed, Saoirse finishes the last of her meal and, after taking a drink, asks Atlantis her next question, since she's pretty sure he has had enough thinking about what the answer to her first one had brought back to his mind, "So, when Nicky was giving us the tour earlier, he said something about how some of the teachers here have learned to use the mists here on Umgul to do stuff? He mentioned tracking people? Are there other things the teachers that can use them can do?"
Mahela, listening to Crystal describe how she first met Atlantis, smiles with a slight nod of her head suggesting that she understands completely when Crystal explains how the senator and Mace probably felt that Atlantis would stand the best chance of calming Crystal down after the somewhat heated exchange between the senator and his new chief financial officer. Though she has only just met Atlantis, Mahela can tell that he has, much like Nick, a way about him that sets others at ease, and an unassuming charm that neither feels forced nor overbearing that makes it easy to see how one dinner could have ultimately led Crystal and Atlantis to where they are now. Having seen how Atlantis and Crystal are together, the way they look at one another and seem to be able to communicate with glances or subtle gesture what others would need words to express, Mahela can tell that they make one another happy. Smiling once Crystal has finished her story, Mahela jokes, "It sounds as though it was a good thing your predecessor was so inept, otherwise you may not have needed to be calmed and then invited to that fortuitous dinner. Setting her utensils down on her plate as she finishes eating, Mahela asks Crystal, deciding to leave the if you don't mind part out as she trusts Crystal would have no difficulty in telling her so if she did mind, How long have you and Atlantis been together now?"

When Crystal felt Atlantis' hand on top of hers, on reflex she turned her hand, palm up and laced her fingers with his before glancing at him, noticing his arched eyebrow. Just smiling and winking at him, Crystal returned her undivided attention on Mahela as she kept eating her food. "Thinking back, yes, it was." Laughing softly after wiping her lips with her napkin, "But at that moment, it certainly wasn't at all." Crystal shook her head slightly and still laughing remembering that day. Crystal also had that recollection of elbowing Raan because the tall guy had placed his arm on her shoulder to lean against her.
"I was also actually looking for Atlantis, whoever that was at the time for some budgeting to help him out concerning the construction of the Academy." That had also been the day she had met Elika. Briefly closing her eyes and scratching the bridge of her nose, Crystal just paused a moment to recenter herself and just push forward. Hopefully her pause there wouldn't be noticeable that much. "I guess the coincidence I suppose and fortuitous encounters to me that day worked in my favor." Crystal agreed with a nod of hers and smile, however that last question from Mahela, that was actually a good question.
Briefly biting the corner of her lower lip just thinking, Crystal pursed her lips in thought and just figured she'd say the following, which Crystal did. "A few years, some will perhaps say a lifetime, but, on a definition of a galactic standard days, he and I figured that we'd disregard that, and just live in the now, each time we can have together is perfect enough for me." For several reasons quite honestly, in her mind but did not even go there for some obvious reasons that she and Atlantis knew, of course. But also because she had no idea what tomorrow could bring. "There are days of course when I either need my space, and days he does, and we understand one another, and so instead of counting the years, we figured we'd make every day we are together one that makes us look forward to tomorrow, if that makes sense?" Crystal asked Mahela, unsure if she was explaining herself correctly or if that was clear enough in how she and Atlantis treated their relationship together.

Atlantis definitely laughed when Saoirse stopped midword on describing that particular Jedi that he had talked about. Honestly, it wasn't shocking to him at all, nor it was surprising, he had heard worst, and not to mention that those type of descriptions often came when Lily was around. Chuckling and glancing at Crystal with an amused grin still, he was about to say something, but he decided against it when he saw that she was busy talking with Mahela, so he said nothing of it, and just focused on Saoirse, as he rubbed the side of Crystal's hand with his thumb.
Thankfully he was aware enough despite his amusement to still keep following on what Saoirse was telling him. "Well that's the thing, the Jedi Order isn't supposed to interfere with anything so to speak. Jedis are guardians of peace and justice. While perhaps you won't see them at the forefront, like say back a certain period, commanding armies or being Generals, the Jedi Order will mainly work in the background." It certainly wasn't front line news or reported on the holonet. "As you have said, we take care first on what is happening on the planet we are located in, and from time to time because it is known that this or that particular person has a certain knowledge on a matter on a different planet, the Jedi Order will most certainly contact that Jedi and send him or her there." He hoped that made sense, and yes in a way in her statement, the answer was there as well.
"We don't like the spotlight, nor do we want it, we just want to make sure that the population is happy with what it is given and what is at its disposal. So in a way you are not wrong, but at the same time we don't necessarily have the resources like the First Order, for example, it is not our mandate to fix a government, or set one up." Perhaps this was confusing, and perhaps it was difficult to grasp. Preferring to stop there at least, for now, though wouldn't mind to potentially go on, but he figured that would open a can of worms that might not be advisable to do so.
Atlantis took a sip of his drink, taking that opportunity to do so since he was at least done with his food. He sure was glad nevertheless that Saoirse steered the conversation in a different direction. He smiled knowingly and nodded. "I figured you'd ask about that when Nick mentioned it during the tour." Thinking for a few on how to explain what he could do actually, and actually a few of them made the mists work in their favor in different ways. "There is tracking yes, and there is also one who can pick up echoes of conversations that occurred in the mists. It's a short window of opportunity, and also doesn't last in time at all. And then another came up with using the mists in their favor. Reorienting the electric judgment, or make it in a wider scale or just smaller. Electric judgment is a an alter force power, that as you have guessed allows the user to generate electricity from their hands. As long as it's organic of course." Atlantis smiled, and while he knew that alter, it wasn't as potent as Mace's quite honestly.

Saoirse absently drums her knife and fork quietly on the table as she listens to Atlantis explain more about the role of Jedi in the galaxy, not because she is bored by the conversation, her expression an obviously intent and interested one given that she is learning more about what she will be training to do, but rather due to the fact that sitting still for extended periods of time can often be difficult for her. While she used to take medication to help manage her ADHD when she was younger, Saoirse stopped doing so after learning coping strategies that had none of the side effects medications come along with, and one thing she has found that helps her keep her restless energy from affecting her attention span is venting it by fidgeting with whatever might be available, which in this instance happens to be her utensils.
"That all makes sense," Saorise says cheerfully when Atlantis has concluded his explanation about the Jedi's current role in the universe. Reflecting on the subject, Saoirse can see how the fact she had previously only read or heard about the Jedi during the Old Republic, when the Order worked closely with the Senate, had given her an inaccurate idea of what Jedi do. Without ties to a body like the Republic Senate, the Jedi of the present day sound to Saoirse like they have become, or more accurately returned to their role of keepers of the peace. Given that one of the reasons Saoirse is pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, in addition to the fact it is a field that interests her, is that she had always wanted to go into law enforcement, Saoirse is happy to hear that she could ultimately end up doing so, the only change being that she will be doing so as a Jedi lending aid to Umgul's law enforcement.
Worried that her tapping might be distracting, Saoirse sets her utensils down and starts folding and unfolding the napkin resting on her thigh beneath the table as Atlantis goes on to explain more about how some of the teachers at the academy are able to use the mists on Umgul in uniquely inventive ways, including being able to use them to widen the area of effect of one of the Force abilities in the alter category involving generating electricity. "Wow, Saoirse says once Atlantis has concluded his explanation, clearly impressed with what he has said. Grinning, Saoirse asks, I guess those things are probably for really advanced students? Or are they things that only the teachers that can do them have learned to do?"
Mahela nods with a smile after Crystal finishes her answer about how long she and Atlantis have been together, telling Crystal, "Oh, I understand you perfectly, yes, and it really is a lovely way to think of it. Glancing up at a chronometer on the wall, Mahela frowns slightly as she notices the time and says in a disappointed tone, And on that note, I really should be going. I have a class soon, she explains as she stands up and apologizes to Atlantis, I am so sorry for the interruption. Thank you again for allowing me to stay for a little while, and for the bed, she adds with a smile as she refers to Atlantis' offer to have an additional bed put into Saoirse's room. Turning to include Crystal in her next statement, Mahela says, It was a pleasure to meet you both, before apologizing again to Atlantis and Saoirse, Sorry for interrupting your conversation."
Saoirse, grinning as she gets up and goes over to give Mahela a hug before she goes, says, "We understand, silly, and then gives her friend a hug before playfully making shooing motions towards the door, Now get outta here! Putting a hand up to her ear with her thumb and index finger extended, Saoirse silently tells Mahela she will comm her later. After Atlantis and Crystal have said their farewells, Saoirse, bouncing a little on her heels to release some of her restless energy, grins as she excitedly asks Atlantis, So, what's next on the agenda?"

Crystal nodded with a smile to let Mahela know that it was okay, and she definitely did not have to apologize, everyone here would understand, and it wasn't as if they could sit around all day and do nothing especially with other obligations they had. "It was a pleasure meeting you as well, Mahela. Until next time hopefully."
Crystal pulled the napkin on her lap placing it on the table before glancing at Atlantis briefly then looking at Saoirse with a faint smile. "I'll also be going, so I have enough time to grab my notes in the office before the meeting." At least that way, the two of them could definitely do something and also hopefully quell Saoirse's restlessness.
"I believe I shall be going as well, wouldn't want to cause any annoyance back at work." Crystal knew that she still had some time but she also knew that this was for the best that she'd disappear before so Atlantis could speak one on one with Saoirse. Standing up from her seat, Crystal placed her fingertips on his chin and pecked his lips softly. "Chiama me dopo, amore." (Call me later, love) Before pulling her head back and smiling.
Grabbing her jacket from the back of her seat, Crystal looked at Saoirse with a warm smile. "Enjoy your time here, and your afternoon, and may the Force be with you."" After making sure she had all of her personal effects, Crystal made her way out of the dining hall as she noticed that one of the droids was making its way in to probably clear the plates, and everything else from the table...

Atlantis noticed that Saoirse seemed to start getting restless, and with their lunch finishing up, he figured they would be able to do something about that. Though he didn't say anything right now, as he did not want to turn everyone's attention on her, or just make her feel out of ease to begin with. He smiled and was thankful that at least what he had explained, and what he told her was clear enough for her to definitely understand what he meant.
"Well, it's not that we do not teach it, it's just that it seemed to be an innate thing, either because of experience on what people have grone through, or because it's just them. Though the electric judgment, that definitely can be taught, but utilizing the mists with it, it takes a lot of power." He definitely hoped again that it would make sense, and it wasn't because they didn't want to teach people, it was actually for some part, he wouldn't even know where to start, and he figured that Franz wouldn't either.
But those aside, turning his attention onto Mahela who mentioned she had to go to class, but also thanked him for the bed, Atlantis smiled widely and inclined his head as a 'don't mention it' before watching both and Saoirse and Mahela talking briefly. Knowing Crystal, she would soon follow suite, actually considering the time. He looked at her and closed his eyes briefly kissing her back before opening his eyes slowly looking into hers. "Claro, nessun problema, ti amo." He told her with a knowing smile before standing up from his seat making sure that everything was in order before him.
Grabbing his jacket after placing his lightsabers back onto his wrists, Atlantis put that back on and looked at Saoirse with a smile. "Let's go for a walk around the Academy's ground, and we can talk further so I can get an idea on how to approach your teachings." He mentioned knowingly, as obviously well the whole meditation and sitting still for far too long might be out of the question. And he knew that he would have to adapt it to her, further than that, he also wanted to address something that he had felt last night while he was still at the University talking to the dean.
Without really waiting further, Atlantis gestured to the entry way of the dining hall, so they could go back down to the Academy's grounds.

Entering the dining hall after having taken a luxuriously long soak in a bubble bath to soothe her sore muscles, during which she had commed Mahela as promised to let her friend know how her first day as an official Jedi learner had gone, and after which she had spent some time in the library looking for texts on hand to hand combat and work outs to enhance upper body strength to download to her datapad in audio format to listen to later, Saoirse runs into Nickala and Tach almost immediately. After chatting with the younglings for a bit and agreeing to meet them later for a study group that gathers in one of the common areas on the second floor on some evenings to review the more academic or philosophical teachings the learners are all required to undertake, Saoirse heads to the buffet to see what is on offer for the evening meal selection.
As she is making her way to the buffet, Saoirse looks around to see whether or not Atlantis, or any of the other instructors she has met, are present.
