Atlantis had nodded to Serrin when she asked him if she should be worried and if the fact that it was Elika that designed the academy was how he and the architect had originally met. There was of course more to that story one he supposed they could revisit later on. For now his focus had been more onto the Jedi from Felucia and especially the girl that had just called him ‘sir.’ Atlantis waved his hand to indicate that there should not be any of that. “Please, just do call me by my name, Michelle.” He had a friendly smile, and still he did not forget his manners so to speak, after all, Atlantis had been the one to call them here, not the other way around, and for that he would be eternally grateful. They still did come, and clearly they did not know much about Atlantis, except perhaps the fact that he pretty much told that envoy that came on behest of the Jedi Order to leave, just to put it nicely really.
Atlantis looked at Aerandir with a warm smile and soon he found himself looking at both of the young ladies, he was certain that they were quite capable and he wouldn’t look at them as just ‘young girls.’
“Indeed, and I cannot thank you enough for making your way here…” Atlantis was indeed hoping that Aerandir just like Michelle and Morgan, would understand that just for showing up here after he asked for their helped, he was eternally grateful. Atlantis usually was the kind of guy who did not ask for external help but for this case, knowing that he was too close to the matter at hand, knowing personally who the person was being branded as a murderer, because the Vice Governor was after all Atlantis’ identical twin, he really did not care going against what he used to not do before. That was before and this was now.
Atlantis at least found their first encounter to be a pleasant one, and it also looked like he and Aerandir were alike when it came to the use or non-use of titles, perfect really. Soon enough though his attention turned towards the youngest girl and he smiled in such affectionate way that when he had briefly watched the interaction between Serrin and Morgan, he had found that touching and worthy to just watch with a noticeable grin. Atlantis looked at Aerandir with an amused expression because clearly, from what Atlantis had perceived and understood, not only they knew one another but Serrin and Morgan had a certain type of bond or history.
Getting everyone’s retina scan and prints, Atlantis uploaded that to the console and added extra information about the data that had been uploaded, once completed and hearing that familiar bip whenever a new entry had been processed, he looked back at the man who Atlantis assumed was the father of the two girls, but said nothing of it, and shook his head with a knowing smile. “You have access to ninety percent of the academy, it goes from the residential building that is actually independent from this area, to the archives, meditation rooms and training rooms.” For all intents and purposes, Atlantis asked for all of their datapads, so they could hook it to the console and get a blueprint of the academy uploaded to their devices. “Right, the council chambers are on the top highest floor and obviously only a few of us can go in there.” Atlantis was probably already saying a few things that everyone here already knew but what the heck, it did not hurt to not inform them at all anyways.
“Unfortunately, some of them are unavailable right now, the reason why they aren’t here, and the academy is quite empty during the weekend, when the students are local we usually send them home, and some might not probably come back at all.” Atlantis explained thoughtfully before glancing at Serrin, she had already been aware of the situation so she would understand why some wouldn’t come back probably but Aerandir did not know perhaps, since Atlantis never said anything in his communication about the press being involved now.
“In any case, I am sure that we can all talk about that situation at a later time, as you might all probably be exhausted.” He looked at everyone with a knowing smile, he already knew that Serrin had eaten but what of the three others? “Are you three hungry?” He asked dubiously as he stayed put momentarily to see what they might need, otherwise, he’d show them to the other building towards the residential area of the academy itself.
Atlantis also supposed that it would be beneficial for the Jedi from Felucia to meet his brother personally so they can understand why those allegations even started, although he was somewhat apprehending that suggestion to begin with as Andros really was the kind of guy that did not mix well with others, and looked perpetually cranky despite not being so anyways, but if tomorrow Andros was going to be at the lakehouse, then it would be a good place and area for everyone to meet, especially when Atlantis knew that Andros was most comfortable in a familiar area and the millaflowers around did help his younger brother…

*Aerandir observed Morgan's interactions with Serrin, and as expected the girl was quite excited to see her and the two had their own cheery exchange. Aerandir smiled; Serrin it seemed was quite good with children. Serrin herself though... he couldn't place it, but something seemed somehow different about her. It was a very subtle sense, however, one that didn't seem to disrupt the feelign that, in very which way, this was still the same Master Roma, he admired.
Michelle, meanwhile, had already picked up on the fact that Atlantis preferred to forgo titles much like her brother, though hadn't expected him to ask her to drop the usage of "sir" even; her brother seemed to not mind being addressed as sir, so perhaps they weren't entirely alike, but close enough.
As, Aerandir assumed, the scans were accepted, Atlantis they had access to "ninety percent" of the building. His eyebrows briefly flicked upwards at the number, though he supposed that more sensitive areas didn't actually take up as much room of an establishment as he thought; he'd never really stopped to think about just how much larger the rest of both the base on Felucia and the academy on Belkadan were compared to the restricted areas.
Not that he'd come to Umgul to learn about floor plans.
Aerandir made mental note of the basic facilities he'd have access, as well as the fact that the residential building was actually adjacent to the Academy, and he and Michelle offered their datapads so that the map data could be uploaded; that would be quite handy. Atlantis then explained that weekends were usually quiet around the Academy, which, come to think of it, the area was pretty quiet right now, but that made sense. What didn't make sense was Atlantis's cryptic comment about how some might not come back at all. He visibly furrowed his brows, and he could sense Michelle too was eager to ask why this was, but they were both cut off by Atlantis's query as to whether or not they were hungry. Which, well, they were. Or at least he was, and if he was, most likely the girls were too. Unless they'd been hiding stashes...
He'd save his query for later and merely nodded.* Long trips usually tend to make one hungry, I mean there's usually food in the ship but I'm sure you know plenty of better cooks than I. *He smiled with humor, Michelle grinning and looking up at him.* Hey, your cooking's not that bad! *He responded by playfully nudging her and replying with a stage whisper.* Hush, Michelle, not even Jedi turn down free food. *He shifted his eyes back and forth several times then grinned, Michelle giggling at him.*

*Morgan did not hesitate to throw herself into Master Roma's arms and hug the lovable Twi'lek Jedi when offered, beaming as she did so. She continued to smile widely when Master Roma expressed how good it was to see her again, then once again noted how Morgan had gotten taller while she herself had not. Morgan remembered that little greeting, and she giggled gleefully. The playfully accusatory look was not lost on Morgan, so she decided to respond in kind.* Hey, there's nothing I can do about it! *"Though I doubt that," she added in her thoughts regarding her eventual having to kneel to hug Serrin instead, but she appreciated the gesture nevertheless. Once upon a time, she didn't mind her small size, though lately she had to admit that it got to her sometimes, especially when she was mistaken for a younger child and therefore not taken too seriously at first...
But she brushed aside those pesky thoughts and continued to smile as Serrin asked how Morgan had been, wanting to know of Morgan's "adventures" since they last saw each other. That had been some time ago... Morgan had plenty of adventures to share, of course! But right now hadn't been the time, as Atlantis wanted to move forward to the Academy. Morgan smiled and took Master Roma's offered hand, answering her latest question about how Mommy had been.* She's great! I see her all the time and play in the jungle a lot, so I have fun with her. *As the scanning and map uploading was being handled—Morgan of course supplied her own datapad when asked—Master Roma knelt beside Morgan again and spoke quietly to her, like she had some kind of secret. Well, first she asked if she was correct in recalling that Morgan enjoyed swimming. Oh right, that little "baptism" at Tython that she'd told Master Roma about... Where once Morgan might've blushed at that recollection, now she only nodded, waiting for the Twi'lek to continue.
According to her, Atlantis and his friends were having some sort of swimming party the next day and had planned on inviting Morgan and her family. Really? Well, that was a fantastic way to start off a visit to a new world... Although from the sound of things, she'd have to show up more... traditionally. She very briefly frowned, then smiled again and nodded, whispering back to Master Roma.* Of course! And don't worry, I'll act surprised! *She giggled softly, though made sure to pay as much attention to the adults as she could. Especially at the mention of food. The word "hungry" in particular piqued Lokay's interest, and he peered this way and that, sniffing, wondering what kind of delicacies awaited him. The act elicited a giggle from Morgan, though suddenly this made her jump slightly as she realized she'd forgotten something.* Oh! I forgot to say! This is Lokay, my tailring! I don't think you've met him yet. He likes bacon. *This was mostly to Master Roma, though she spoke loudly enough and even met Atlantis's eyes briefly so she included him as well. She couldn't let her pet go unnoticed! And she hoped they had plenty of bacon...*

Playfully looking as deep in thought as I can when Morgan suggests that there is little she can do about the fact she has not yet finished growing while I almost certainly have, I nod sagely and concede her point, "You may have a point at that, and then smile as, while we walk into the academy, she tells me that Mother Felucia has been well, and that she has a great deal of fun with Her since she is often in the jungle; something I might find worrisome were I not aware of the unique, strong bond between Morgan and the planet. You must be sure to tell Her, when you return, that I send my regards, I tell Morgan, and that I should very much like to visit Her again someday." My last visit to Felucia was made when on a mission, and as such I had little time to enjoy the beauty, dangerous as it often is, the world has to offer, and I would truly like to return someday when I might have an opportunity to learn and see more of Felucia.
Nodding with a playfully secretive look over my shoulder as though to make sure our conversation about the pool party has gone unheard, I kneel down to get a closer look at Lokay when Morgan introduces her sand dragon, telling Lokay cheerfully with a smile, "Well, hello there. Aren't you a handsome little fellow? He's marvelous, I tell Morgan, confirming that I have not met him when I tell Lokay, It is a pleasure meeting you. Hearing that Aerandir and Michelle both sound hungry, suggesting that Morgan may be as well, I tell Lokay, It sounds as though you may have a chance to get some bacon soon, and then smile as I stand, holding out a hand for Morgan as tell Atlantis with a smile, It sounds to me as though hunger is winning out over tiredness for the time being, so I suggest we make the next stop on our tour the, I glance at the handy map that Atlantis had downloaded to my datapad when providing us all the means to learn how to navigate the academy without a guide should a guide be unavailable, dining hall."
While we begin to make our way to the dining hall, I ponder what Atlantis might have meant when suggesting that some of the local students might not return when the weekend break ends, tentatively concluding that he believes the public allegations made against him, and by extension the Mist Order, might be believed by some of the students or their parents. Not knowing enough, however, about the views the general public of Umgul may hold where the Mist Order or the Jedi that founded it are concerned, I know that I may be incorrect when guessing, and so wait to learn more of that cryptic comment, as well as of the situation that has brought us all together here, when Atlantis has an opportunity to do so.

“Insofar, Aerandir, I am afraid that I only know personally two good cooks on this planet.” Atlantis said with amusement. Crystal, his girlfriend, was one and the other had been Bliss if he recalled perfectly, and she was the Senator’s own personal medic. “But alas I am not one of those, but I suppose you can say that I do manage if and when it is necessary.” When it came to cooking, sure he could get by, mostly also because he had been watching Crystal attentively whenever she was cooking back at her place. Raan Jade often said of him and Andros, that they were quick to assimilate things, Atlantis always put that under the category of just meticulously observing what was happening before him.
He had not missed the fact that Serrin and Morgan were whispering to one another, and he also had not missed entirely the content of their said conversation, after all, Atlantis was a former soldier back on Coruscant and reading on lips was like second nature to him, but as things were he just pretended for the time being that he was completely oblivious of their conversation and that he was far more focused onto giving everyone the clearances they would need, at least ninety percent, the rest, it concerned the vault that was beneath grounds. That vault housed several items, but that was a story for another time.
… Another time indeed for he was looking in Morgan’s direction when she introduced to them her tailring, Lokay, her look had not been missed by him when she said loud and clear that he loved bacon. So it was settled he supposed; Atlantis would lead them to the residential building that was adjacent to the Academy and everyone could settle in to wherever they needed, or wanted. “We have plenty of bacon for Lokay, you can count on that Morgan.” Atlantis soon smiled at Serrin and inclined his head knowingly.
Since he was the host, Atlantis started to lead the way towards the residential building but he pursed his lips thoughtfully. “Pray tell me,” Atlantis started to say as he looked at the three Jedi from Felucia, “What do you actually want to eat, because there is a large selection.” He chuckled at the thought before shaking his head briefly in amusement and he did not hesitate to explain that. “The farmers ever since their lands had been returned to them increased their outputs exponentially with the help of an engineer at Andros, my brother’s request, and ever since those said farmers kept showing their gratitude to my brother for his actions by continuously gifting him with things and he said to just redirect those to the Academy if and when that happened again.”
Truth be told, Atlantis was grateful for that, for not only it allowed him to keep the students well fed all the time, at least he knew that Andros still had their support due to the actions he had undertaken a while ago. As Atlantis spoke, he kept on walking and they even exited the Academy, and just walked a few feet towards the next building, he looked at all of the people who was accompanying him and gestured to the console for anyone of them, so they could do the honors if they wished to test out their new clearances. “If one of you could do the honors, if you wish of course.” There was a thumb print console and a retina scan for them to present, even the person’s name would show up and let them know that the access was granted, after that, they were clearly in the residential area and Atlantis led them straight to the dinning hall.

Speak of the devil . . . And he, himself, shows.
It wasn’t long ago when Mace made a mention of him. It wasn’t long ago either since his sister told Mace about a few things and while she clearly had no want to fight, nor argue, she knew that it was just inevitable.
“General Honoros Aestrea . . .” Spoke Mace flatly as she came to a halt and looked at the Guardian standing there a few meters away. “I see you have come alone.”
“Spare me the pleasantries, Vos. You very well know why I am here.” Honoros replied with an annoyed tone before glancing at both his sister and Ayla who seemed to be holding onto her shoulder, but Horsea was holding onto what seemed an official file. For that brief moment, something just made him reconsider why he had been here at this precise instant, of course he was here to discuss Forcias’ case, but from the looks of it, there clearly was something else going on, beside that situation occurring in Umgul currently.
“. . . And spare me your lectures, Aestrea. Get to the point.” Came Mace’s emotionless reply. She had really no will to argue and this whole thing, that whole stupid thing that got Honoros so wound up, Mace saw that as completely ludicrous, there were graver things in life, graver ongoing things and Honoros was just so bent on following that textbook when it concerned Forcias and Lucine. Together.
Honoros kept on standing his ground, and kept on looking at the trio impassively; he knew this wasn’t an argument he was going to win here and now, and that perhaps he should wait for Forcias to come back and carry out that order of sending him away permanently.
“Don’t you dare!” Having caught drift of his train of thoughts, Mace’s voice boomed out louder than she would have preferred. “If I ever caught wind of that, General, best be prepared for a fight, because I won’t tolerate you, or others,” She obviously meant the rest of the Guardians, “Tearing them both apart, won’t change a thing, Forcias Kes is already in too deep that relationship and deeply cares for the Lieutenant.”
“What aren’t you telling me? That Kes is— . . . “
“In love?” Rhetorically finishing Honoros’ statement, she looked at him with an expressionless stare. “Discharge him, if you want, but that won’t change the fact that Forcias has always been your best pilot and it won’t change the fact that he has sweated enough for each and every one of us. Major Forcias Kes stays here on Umgul and will not be sent away.”
While Ayla seemed to have a relaxed posture a foot behind her cousin, Horsea didn’t seem to be comfortable in this current situation. The latter’s loyalty did reside towards the Guardians as a whole but primarily she stood, and would always will stand by Mace’s executive orders.
“Honoros, please . . . He is like our brother.” Pleaded Horsea in a softer tone as she looked at her brother contrite. She knew that if it weren’t for her, in a way, Forcias might have never gone to seek out Lieutenant Lyn, nor would he have made a step in that direction. But she was the primary reason why now this had come to be. “You have always told me that my happiness was important, why can’t it be the same for Forcias?”
“You very well know, Horsea.”
“Why? Because he was in Kiffex prison? Because he was a criminal younger?” Ayla knew the replies to all of those question, but she also knew that it wasn’t because of those things. “Or is it because you cannot stand the fact that you are going to lose control and that one of yours finding happiness with someone else is a situation you would want not to happen with the others?” Ayla dropped her hand from her shoulder and looked at Honoros meaningfully. “We are no longer governed by Kiffu or Kiffex laws, what I do and who I follow is by my own volition, and I have decided to follow my cousin, till the very end. A promise you have made as well, Honoros, and one that your sister did too, just like Major Kes.”
Lifting her hand, Mace just wanted to stop this argument, this debate that had been the same for a while; she really did not want this situation to come to this, to where they were now.
“Now, that everything has been said about that matter, think about it Honoros, and when you have finally come to your senses, then we can talk again, for now I have no wish to have a dispute with you again nor have your mind plague mine with Forcias’ situation.” Mace did not want him in her vicinity and she wasn’t inclined to be in his either. What will happen, will happen but for now, she preferred to keep that matter there while she had other matters to attend to.
Glancing over Horsea this time, Mace arched her eyebrow dubiously; “Earlier you wanted to tell me something . . .”
Knowing that he was now unwanted, Honoros turned around and exited the premises of the Academy while Horsea updated Mace on a few things concerning the Vice-Governor and the new added presence in his office . . .
“I see, thank you, best you return to your duties, I shall speak to you later.” Inclining her head as a thanks, and seeing Horsea taking her leave as well to head back to the Intelligence department on her speeder, Mace turned to look at Ayla and took a deep breath before looking at her shoulder. “My fault, I will help you out, considering that it’s not something you are inclined to heal with the Force . . .”

The trek to the Mist Order's academy is lengthy enough to afford me the opportunity to mentally review the information SEO Aninh had relayed to us earlier in depth, in addition to reminding me that I had wished to request that copies of the investigation's findings thus far be sent to me so that I might study the evidence that has been collected with my own eyes so that I can see if doing so offers any fresh insights or illuminates my understanding further. The trek is also one that, naturally, invites my doppleganger to make an appearance so that she, or I suppose it may be more accurate to say I can torment myself given that I've come to the conclusion she is a manifestation of of my lingering guilt over the part I feel played in the events on Bimmisaari.
Sleep, as it so often has in the nights since my time on Bimmisaari, feels elusive or, given the dreams that typically come when it cannot be forestalled any longer, undesirable, and so I make my way to the pond in the meditation gardens on the academy grounds, sitting cross-legged facing the still waters of the pond with my eyes closed so that I might shut out all distractions while endeavoring to still my thoughts to court the inner silence that Ashla at times fills with Her whispered guidance.

. . . You’re really sure about that ? Thought Mace as she glanced at her cousin’s shoulder brace. Often times, she and Ayla would have a non-verbal conversation due to the fact that not only it was easier for them, sharing a bond, but also because it had been what they were used to doing.
“Yes, besides it’ll only be for a few days.” Replied Ayla verbally, and even if healing was a mastery she had, even if her cousin had offered, she would still say no, she preferred not to take the easy way out, it wasn’t as if there was an impeding threat, right here and right now. “Though, I am very sorry for hindering your sparring session, you’ll just have to find another candidate to dislocate his or her shoulder . . .”
“Ha . . . Ha . . .” Mace looked at her cousin with a humorless and jaded expression before shaking her head and rolling her eyes.
“Work on the mist. Though, do it outside and not the training room.”
Mace knew why Ayla had suggested that, and she very well knew what her working on the mist implied, heck everyone here knew that, at least the Councilors of the Mist Order, as for the rest, there had been some previews, so to speak, but no matter, she knew she still had to perfect that, just like Atlantis had found a way to make it work for himself.
“I’ll be in the dining hall,” Finally said Ayla before turning on her heels and heading in that direction . . .
Mace briefly watched her cousin walk away, but before even going to her intended destination, she grabbed her gloves that she had tucked at her belt and put those on, it was just an automatic reflex and she preferred not to take any chances anyways, same for entirely cutting her connection to the Force, though she knew that someone was there in the gardens, not needing to know in the now who it was, Mace just walked in that direction, knowing that she might be interrupting something.
Considering though that her signature was perpetually hidden, and that she often walked soundlessly, Mace was in fact hoping to begin with that her voice and her cousin’s had been enough of a warning for Serrin to let her know they were there if not, then that was going to be awkward. For really she truly wasn’t good at interacting with people so to speak.
Preferring to use one of the routes between two Force sensitive, Mace opened herself up to the Force and slightly brushed Serrin’s mind with her own, not showing intent of aggression but welcoming intents. Welcome back to Umgul and welcome to the Mist Order Academy, Master Roma . . . She already knew that Model Face had already done and said those things but, Mace had not said it before or ever.
And considering they weren’t technically on a first name basis and there was no way, she’d call Serrin by her name, since also technically this was the first time ever they would be talking to one another, despite what had happened a while ago back at the Misty Lodge.

Though I have come to believe that my relationship with Ashla has been mended to some degree, and that She no longer shuns me - or I no longer feel as though I should be shunned by Her and so cannot still myself within enough that She has a place to enter and dwell - it seems as though I cannot commune with Her as easily or freely as once I was able before Bimmisaarai and all that transpired there caused the internal tectonic shifts and rearrangements I sometimes believe have yet to reach their end, leaving me in a transitional state of some kind that has not yet revealed where it will lead or what I will be when those endings arrive. I can feel Ashla around me always, but She does not open her arms to me as unreservedly as She has in the past; or perhaps it is I that remain aloof, causing Her to keep a respectful distance. Whatever the case may be, tonight is a night that my efforts to meditate prove unfruitful, and so when I feel the light telepathic touch of Mace's mind it is almost a relief to have a distraction from the mounting sense of frustration and mild distress I can feel welling within me as my failure leads to the by now all too familiar worry that I have fundamentally changed within so much that I will never be as close to Ashla as once I was.
I do not know Mace well, though the calm reserve and poise she has evidenced in the times we have interacted are qualities I respect, and the way her friends speak of her offer some minor insight into what may lay beneath her stoic exterior, and while telepathic communication can at times reveal far more of one than mere verbal communication can, I am unsurprised to find that even Mace's telepathic communication is as, while open enough, at heart reserved and guarded as she herself has been when I have interacted with her in the past, though I can easily sense that her greeting is warm and sincere. My own telepathic communication is likely not dissimilar, perhaps providing the answer to why I can recognize the qualities within Mace's, and I can only hope that she can feel the sincerity and warmth beneath my reserve as I maintain the light link between our minds to express my gratitude for her welcome and for the hospitality she and the Mist Order have always shown me. Ideas being more easy for me to convey telepathically than actual words, I add to my response the suggestion that formality is not something I would have between us, as her use of my title seems to be a barrier of sorts to communicating as openly as we might were things like titles, ranks, or roles at play. The suggestion is not anything more than that, as I know that formality may be something Mace desires to maintain so as to keep the distance she seems to prefer be maintained between her and most, and I offer the suggestion only to make it clear that I myself have no desire to keep our interaction on a strictly superficial level.

By default, Mace was usually that big of a talker . . . And by default, she usually did not share that much, not because she didn’t feel like it, but because for a long time she had never been asked to speak more than necessary and a part of her was because she wasn’t fond of oversharing anyways. There were also some stories that weren’t hers to tell and there were some stories that she wasn’t supposed to know about. Currently though, she was more focused on the current of the Force, she was more focused on the person right there before her, but not intrusively, but more out of respect and politeness.
Whatever might have been going on with Serrin, Mace had no idea whatsoever nor was she inclined to pluck it out the Twi’lek’s mind, that wasn’t Mace at all and besides, she still respected sentient beings’ privacy one way or another especially when they were friendlies and not here on business so to speak . . .
Sensing Serrin’s communication and what she had wanted to convey, Mace smiled warmly and advanced towards Serrin’s sitting form right there by the pond. In that brief exchange, and perhaps one that was more agreeable for them both, it was highly agreeable to her after all, for Serrin that was perhaps the most agreeable form of communication as well, but Mace wasn’t going to assume, for now, she just sat there on a boulder that was slightly aside but still right in front of Serrin.
Serrin, then . . . Finally replied Mace with a faint grin on the corner of her lips, though her eyes did show some humor and warmth, Only if you do the same for me, then we have a deal.
Chuckling lowly and shaking her head briefly, Mace took a deep breath and looked briefly upwards, this place often comforted her, it also was often the place where she would come and meditate and try to clear her mind one way or the other. But that was another thing entirely; that she often did alone and currently she wasn’t alone, no, Serrin was here and perhaps she did want to commune with the Force but perhaps there was just something holding her back, for having too many things on her mind.
Some would say it was a coincidence, but Mace rarely found things coincidental for two people, but anyways, for now she was appeased, despite that “argument” she had here previously with Honoros.
You will always be welcome here, though I find it to be a pity that we’ve only spoken with one another now . . . Closing her eyes briefly and opening them again to look straight at Serrin, Mace finally used her own voice this time. “If you’d rather we communicated orally, please let me know, for I can do both, despite what my cousin would say.” Said Mace with a knowing smile chuckling at the thought and glancing at the interior of the Academy where Ayla was cooking no doubt.
“You seem to have a lot on your mind, and perhaps I have interrupted your thoughts, and for that I apologize . . .” Mace sincerely said, they weren’t exactly close at all, and she wasn’t about to blatantly tell Serrin that if needed she was here if she ever wanted to talk, though Mace could do that and Serrin could whenever. That wasn’t a problem, but it was more of the whole wanting to respect her privacy. But . . . “Though I am sure you know, you are amongst friends and if you ever need a sparring partner, because we all know how Atlantis is at that,” Everyone knew that was a fact, and she was certain that Serrin would know that much about Atlantis not wanting to hit a woman, “You only need to ask.” Of course, Mace wanted to convey many more things, and since she was completely ridiculous at this verbal talking thing to be perfectly honest, perhaps there was a loss in translation there, but fact was, she would listen any time if needed, and hopefully Serrin would know and understand that . . .

"Mace it is then, I say aloud with a smile I trust can be heard even though I do not turn from my contemplation of the water in order to give Mace the option to conclude our conversation without fear I might be offended by its brevity in the event that she has said all that she had intended to convey when beginning her address, trusting that the fact I continue speaking will also make the fact I would welcome any further conversation plain enough. Tilting my head to the side, my left lekku swishing lazily behind my back in order to curl its prehensile tip around the outside of my hip, I add in a musing tone reflecting the fact I am speaking while considering the question she had posed to me rather than giving a previously formed opinion, I believe, by and large, I prefer verbal communication to telepathic. Primarily because, provided we are putting adequate thought into the words we choose to express what we want to convey, verbal exchanges are more . . . succinct than telepathic ones, or perhaps simply free from the extraneous or half-formed, nebulous ideas and errant thoughts that accompany telepathic exchanges. We can choose what we say, where what we think is at times beyond our control."
I laugh, shaking my head as it occurs to me I have wandered afield from the subjects Mace had introduced, and so return to them after saying, "My apologies, I fear I've answered only one of your questions. You've no need to worry that you have interrupted anything, or, therefore, to apologize. I should thank you, in fact, for providing me with a perfectly acceptable reason to cease my failed efforts to quiet things, I tap the side of my head, up here enough to meditate. I sometimes forget that simply wanting to do so does not mean that it is the right or proper time to do so. As for your offer to act as a more useful sparring partner, I laugh, than dear Atlantis and his aversion to actually sparring with certain opponents, I shall bear it mind, and so thank you, I say, and then, to toss the conversational ball back into Mace's court to give her the choice of whether to end the exchange or continue it further, observe, You were missed at the pool party today," which has the implicit question of what reasons Mace might have had for doing so left unspoken so that she can answer it, or choose to take the statement instead as a convenient point to end the conversation with a simple, breezy answer followed by a farewell.

Therein laid their differences . . . While Mace accepted Serrin’s point of view unequivocally, there were still that part of her that was leaning towards that type of conversation that Mace was more used to. Then again, it might have been due to the fact that she spent most of her time with people who knew her more than any one and that she never needed to expound further whatever she had been thinking. On the other hand, Mace definitely understood Serrin’s point and it had its merits, after all, what better way to get to know a person without tampering in the Force anyways? And she really wasn’t the type to do so while interacting with others that she usually didn’t interact with much. Telepathy was an innate ability that she had, just like psychometry, it ran in her family and surely a few people always made a big deal out of her mind reading ability but honestly, if she could help it, she’d never dwell into that ability of hers unless she was really close to people like the Kiffars here as a whole.
For now, just for now, Mace nodded briefly to let Serrin know perfectly that she understood what she meant and perhaps it would do Mace some good also to speak more vocally anyways. This definitely was going to be a good continuation. “Hmmm . . . From my own personal experience, meditation had always been my last resort.” Chuckling briefly at that statement, for in a way it really sounded ridiculous coming from a Jedi but she did not really adhere to that general thinking. “Often times, it is because I know that whatever I might be or am dealing with would never allow me to rest, let alone stop plaguing my conscience.” Whether it was because of that guilt or that because she despised the fact that she knew too much and because she burdened herself with other matters that weren’t her place to divulge to begin with, sometimes she just wanted every of those secrets to come out. But such was her position, and she accepted that, not because she didn’t have a choice, but because sooner or later she believed that there would be something good in the end for the ones that she cared about here. “Which is why I offered to be your sparring partner whenever you feel like it.” Mace always needed to be doing something, whether it was just training or exhausting herself at least enough to give herself a blank mind, or just be too exhausted to think after her workouts.
Considering though that she didn’t know Serrin that much, and she really didn’t want to impose her own mindset anyways, Mace just gave those thoughts without really imposing them anyways. Smiling faintly and taking a deep breath particularly after that pool party comment from Serrin’s part, Mace briefly looked down, and while she could have come up with many reasons why she had not gone to that said pool party, well the truth was, it really wasn’t her scene to begin with nor was it her way to relax. It just wasn’t her . . . “Yes, honest truth? Wasn’t so much in the mood.” Sincerely said Mace but it wasn’t all of it really, and it wasn’t because she wasn’t enjoying the company of the others, and it wasn’t because she didn’t have fun whenever she was with them, but pool party, again not her scene. “Plus, when you are being pulled in multiple directions because of things happening, that just can render a person completely despondent, and others around that person.” Sighing softly and shrugging noncommittally, Mace chuckled briefly and looked towards where her and her cousin had separated. “Might probably be the reason why I have dislocated my cousin’s shoulder.” Frowning at the thought before brushing that topic away, Mace looked at Serrin with a faint chuckle. “Though I do promise to not dislocate your shoulder or even injure you if we ever do spar together in the future.”
Standing up from the boulder and briefly looking at the pond there, Mace finally looked at Serrin with a meaningful expression. “I don’t suppose you are hungry and would want to meet the one whose shoulder I have dislocated?” Asked Mace with an amused tone before remembering something almost immediately. “Ah, right, apologies, you have already met her from what I recall . . .” Not that Mace was there at that time but from the reports she had got, Ayla had nudged Jesse back then when the former Lieutenant, now Major had requested Serrin’s autograph for Raan . . .

Nodding with an understanding smile when Mace explains that she does not typically look first to meditation out of recognition of the fact that when one is troubled it is often difficult to achieve the proper mindset which facilitates entering a meditative state, I cant my head to the side and say, "It is wise to know how best to approach coming to terms with what might be ailing us in one way or another. Meditation is not always the best solution for everyone, nor, I continue with a chuckle, is sparring. Ignoring the mocking laughter of my doppleganger as well as whatever it is she then goes on to say about the wisdom she sees in my deciding to avoid anything that might aggressiveness given what I had experienced on Bimmisaari, I tell Mace, I will certainly keep your offer in mind, however, as it can sometimes be the case that turning to what might be unconventional for ourselves can lead to breakthroughs when our more familiar methods yield no results."
I shrug a shoulder with a smile meant to communicate that I fully understand the reasons Mace had for not participating in the gathering earlier, joking, "It sounds as though you made the right decision then, better I suppose that you dislocated a willing sparring partner's shoulder than vented on an unsuspecting, innocent party-goer, yes? Rolling my neck before standing, my right lekku coiling upward to swing around the front of my neck and then slide its lower end over my shoulder so that its tip can curl around my bicep, I brush the dust and dirt from my outer robe before gesturing for Mace to lead the way as I say, I am not particularly hungry, but I would absolutely adore a nice cup of tea. As I follow Mace, I add, And while I've met your cousin, I cannot say that we had a great deal of time to interact when we met, and so would welcome the chance to spend more time with both her and you."

Nodding with a faint smile when Serrin had assured her that she would keep that previous offer in mind, Mace was glad, to say the least, not that she would hold it against the Twi’lek anyways if it never came to that. Preferring to move away from that matter, at least for now, as she was certain that she might be rattling some bones there, and perhaps also there were just some things she had preferred not to disclose, not that she had not previously. But still saying too much and letting Serrin know too much when it looked like she needed some peace of mind, then it was just unthinkable for Mace, at least at current time . . . “Not only it would have been but just one innocent party-goer, but others would have been sucked in as a whole,” Began Mace thoughtfully with a wry smile, and even if she knew Serrin had been joking, there was after all some truths in that statement, needless to say, if she had vented to one of them, probably Atlantis on this case, a lot would know, whether it was Andros or Franz, or even Crystal, and with what they were facing currently, that was just out of the question. “Therefore yes, I took the easier route, I am guessing, for the rest of the day.” Mace was not at all afraid to say things as they were, or how they might have been perceived, in the end really she didn’t really need to justify herself to any one, at least not right now, at least not when her integrity wasn’t into question. She just chose the lesser of two evils in this case. But that aside, it was always because despite nothing happening in the surface of things, deep down, very down, it was the contrary, and she’d know because despite her she was in the middle of it all. “Tea, it is . . .” Said Mace as she let those thoughts actually echo in her mind for a moment, knowing that Ayla might be picking it, if not then it won’t be a problem, she’ll fix that out when she and Serrin reached the dining hall in the residential building. “Perhaps you will find my cousin a much better conversationalist, but who knows . . .” Chuckling at the thought while Mace leaded the way towards the dining hall . . .

Do what you need to do… That was the statement that was still echoing on his mind. Words of Ayla Vos, his co-councilor of the Mist Order. While he had already announced what he had intended to do the moment he came back to the Academy with the bodies of the fallen Jedi, Atlantis hadn’t wrapped his mind around the whole ordeal just yet.
As he had left Lyov’s place, and discreetly as well, to avoid the press and any prying eyes but also questions that he wasn’t ready to reply to yet, Atlantis had cast one last glance at Lyov. It wasn’t hate, but disappointment, and yes perhaps some hate but he knew he had to hold that in. He knew he had to keep his emotions in check for he didn’t want to be a slave to them, not on these type of matters. He also knew he had to decide Lyov’s fate sooner or later after speaking with the others.
Finally, he had gently laid down Serrin’s inert corpse in the last static pod to preserve her the best he could, he placed both of her lightsabers in her hands upon her chest before closing his eyes. “It shouldn’t have been you…” Atlantis softly said as he looked at her, all of her before glancing at the other Jedi who also had come to assist them. “It shouldn’t have been the both of you. But I want to thank you for everything.” Activating the pod, Atlantis turned around and let the dim light illuminate both of the makeshift casket for the time being until he could contact those he had to contact to inform whomever that Master Serrin Roma was killed in action along with Percival.
Walking out of the room, that was actually the medbay, Atlantis looked upwards for a moment and took a deep breath and little by little reality set in as he made his way to the communications room to contact the Jedi Academy of Corellia, actually someone that he had met before while he was in Corellia, the one he knew to be the administrator of the Academy, Anya Sel.
Greetings Anya, this is Atlantis Vyridian, Headmaster of the Mist Order in Umgul. I am contacting you bearing grave news. Closing his eyes briefly and looking down from the holovid lens, Atlantis finally refocused on it with a saddened, conflicted, and grave expression. As you might have been aware Serrin came here to exonerate my brother and I, and I regret to inform you that she and Percival have fallen in combat. I am sorry for not preventing that… His voice was contrite, and the more he spoke about that event, the more reality was slamming on his face, but he knew he had to hold on. If you or anyone from the Order wishes to come here and arrange the proper burial, please know that you are more than welcome. Also if there is anything you wish me to do, please let me know… Atlantis, over and out.
Cutting the communication feed soon enough Atlantis looked upwards, and yelled with his entire being not even bothering of controlling his emotions and just letting those flow freely in anger, anguish but more importantly in sadness for the loss of a good friend, for the loss of someone he truly trusted and wished he had more time with…

Instead of replying to his message via text, or whatever, Mace was currently at the Academy after finishing up a few things. Currently leaning against the entrance as she noticed Atlantis approaching. "Cordially invited for tonight at the lakehouse for a party, eh? Why not." Said Mace with a nonchalantly shrug, it would be a nice change of pace, and quite frankly sometimes she needed to hit that pause button.
There were things she preferred not to be in the middle of, and some things that she preferred to not even look into but there was still that pending issue concerning the report that Forcias had given to her while on Naboo. It was starting to be somewhat terrifying the more she delved into it, and the ties, all the ties, connections, she had seen enough to last her several lifetimes.
"Have you decided yet, or too soon?" Asked Mace with an arched eyebrow mentioning that only because she also knew that Atlantis despised pending things that took long but at the same time, she couldn't blame him at all, as this concerned the perpetrator that caused this recent chaos. "I am guessing you can be advised by the lawyers?"

"Mhmmmmmm" Atlantis replied upon seeing Mace when he stepped into the Academy. She always seemed to know whenever he was around, or something like that, but then again she was where she was needed, not before and not after. "It'll make a lot of them happy, particularly Elika, since she is the one who suggested that, she hasn't seen you in a while so, you know." Atlantis shrugged and walked with Mace further inside the place.
Shaking his head to reply to her question and taking a deep breath in the process. "I don't even know yet, I mean I know some part yes, but at the same time, I don't even know if I can face him again, I know I have to, but..." Sighing deeply and rubbing his face, actually her idea about getting some advice from the lawyers, that would be a good one, plus they would be there tonight too, assuming they accept the invitation.
Speaking of which... "Any ideas on where Franz is currently or is he just doing what he does?" Which could mean a lot of things, considering that now the truth had been told, that Andros had nothing to do with the crimes that have occurred in the city, and that the MO had not covered anything, prospects were once again knocking at their door figuratively speaking, and Franz often was the one finding them.
"Also, I have been meaning to ask..." Atlantis started to say before closing his mouth and looking at her You and the Guardians as a whole, trouble? He did not say it out loud and just let his mind wander to that question, knowing that, or hoping that in fact she might get a read on his thoughts, although he did knew that she never made that a habit to read other people's mind.

Saoirse nods when Atlantis mentions the fact that they are both from Coruscant, "And we're both from the Underlevels too. Small universe, huh? she asks rhetorically with a grin. Smiling when Atlantis says he is glad that she and the rest of Coruscant's citizens were liberated by the First Order, Saoirse agrees, Me too, then tilts her head to the side as she adds, Not everyone feels the same way though, in a way that makes it clear she has trouble seeing how others might not see things from the same perspective she and Atlantis do. I've gotten into a few debates with other students about whether it was more like an occupation, or how the First Order is just like the old Galactic Empire. But, she shrugs, clearly not one to let the differing opinions of others make her abandon her own, they weren't there, you know? They didn't see how things changed for the better after Emperor Delvardus IV came and started enacting economic reforms and . . . she laughs, realizing she is almost making a speech and probably repeating things Atlantis already knows on top of that. Anyway, things are way better on Coruscant now."
Saoirse nods a bit pensively when Atlantis says her coach had told him about her scholarship, reminding her of her earlier thoughts about how the fact that she is able to use the Force might mean she cannot play bolo-ball anymore and will lose the scholarship. Before she can dwell on that possibility for long, Atlantis moves on to explain that her theory about why she hadn't been discovered is flawed, in that an experienced Force user would have been able to easily sense her using it no matter how strongly or not she did, pointing out that he done just that when watching her game earlier today. Guessing that it may have something to do with a lack of Imperial Knight presence in the Underlevels, Saoirse speculates jokingly, "Maybe Imperial Knights don't like bolo-ball?" Nodding faintly, and looking before him, they were at their destination. Atlantis expanded tenfold the bubble that was around them to let her see the Academy before them.
"We are here," Grinning at the sight of the Academy, he always did, as he remembered that dear friend of his that had thought about the design of this, and just constructed the Academy for the Mist Order. While she had been impressed with how Atlantis had pushed the mists back before, that pales in comparison to the awe Saoirse feels as he does so now on a much larger scale to reveal that they have reached their destination and she gets her first look at the academy. "Whoa. . . is all Saoirse manages at first, the sight of the mists surrounding the bubble of clear terrain and sky that the buildings and grounds comprising the academy is nestled in taking her breath away. Moving closer to get a better look at the buildings and grounds of the academy, Saoirse sees what looks like a decorative garden and even an open courtyard in one area. It's beautiful, Saoirse says, then grins and adds, Looks like there's plenty of space to play Limmie too."

Atlantis wasn't the type to really discuss politics or ideologies as a whole. Like he had mentioned earlier to Saoirse, here at the Mist Order Academy, they were all about free will, and not stifling a person's choice or views. He always tried to put himself in other people shoes so to speak to see their point of view, right now he had nothing further to add, nor would he want to sway her views on things when it came to the First Order. Atlantis figured that if Coruscant had never been abandoned by the Republic as a whole or even the Jedi Order, perhaps Saoirse would have a different view. Who knew? Atlantis wasn't in the business of second guessing things, or sway people into a different thought.
What he taught here was the ways of the Force turned to the light side of the spectrum. Umgul as a whole wasn't different, darksider, lightsiders, the planet welcomed any and all affiliations as long as it did not threaten the peace that had been instated here. The MO had been called a few times before when it came to the Force, other than that, the general population mostly and often dealt with the local authorities. There had been some rumors that Andros had been a Dark Jedi but the people were still happy nonetheless with the policies he enacted for their well-being. That was all Atlantis could ever hoped, and wished for. The well-being of people.
It wasn't lost on him either that indeed he and Saoirse were both from the Underlevels of Coruscant, and he even smiled at her joke. Small galaxy indeed, if only she knew how many coincidences he had been subjected to while he had been here in Umgul. Or at least from the moment he had decided to make this his permanent fixture. He figured that all of her lingering questions, and thoughts could be addressed later on, as he let her take into view unhindered by the mists, the Academy.
While usually he wasn't one to clear the mists at all as he was accustomed to it. The fact that he did now, to let her see what was in front of her, well it was like he was discovering the Academy all over again. He still had that fond memory of that meeting he had with Elikapeka Hekekia, and Mace at Vinoly Architectural when the former had finally come up with a design for the Academy. It was the reason why when Saoirse said that it was beautiful, he looked at her warmly and nodded. "Yes, the person who imagined this knew me enough to produce this." Atlantis said wistfully, and thought about Elika, wondering where she was now, he hoped she was alright. His expression sombered a bit, he was even about to comment about playing limmie here, but then he noticed a few younglings rushing out of the entrance and they seemed to be arguing, or debating about something which got to look at the Bothan, Ugnaught, and even Human, no more than five years old. They seemed to be discussing something.
Looking around in delight and seeing that the mists had been cleared, she had felt the Headmaster's signature, while usually she couldn't when he wasn't in the Academy, she knew that he was here. "Master Vyridian! Master, please keep holding the mists, pleaaaaaaase!"
"Can't you see he is busy and with someone" He interrupted his friend, he always could be somewhat a smartass for his young age.
The much calmer one of the three was the first one to walk closer to Atlantis and Saoirse and he smiled widely before bowing to the both of them. "Hello Headmaster, and hel-..." His greetings trailed off when he got a closer look to the Zabrak woman next to the Headmaster, his eyes widened and he looked in awe before walking closer to Atlantis and tugging his pants "Master, master, is that...?"
Atlantis looked from the two to the Human youngling next to him, while he kept clearing the mist for Cih, like she had requested, even if he wasn't entirely sure why, he did as requested but he did squat down to be at eye level with the one he called Nick. He smiled warmly looking at the youngling and nodded. "What is it, Nick?" Atlantis asked dubiously, though he could already venture the question. Though Nick walked over and closer to whisper into Atlantis' ear, it seemed that all of a sudden Nick seemed shyer. Nodding at the youngling and looking up at Saoirse with a warm smile. "Yep that is her indeed, do you want to say hello?" Atlantis asked as he looked back at Nick who seemed to be shaking his head and blushing in the process while hiding a bit behind Atlantis.
"You do know she can see you, right?" He could feel Nick somewhat holding this time a little tighter on his sleeve's jacket before he looked back at both Cih, and Tach. "Well, then, I suppose I will have to ease you into it, so you are less starstruck." Atlantis teased the young boy before nodding towards the two others who seemed to be searching something on the ground. "What are Cih, and Tach doing?" Atlantis wondered softly, while he kept the mists clear from their wide surroundings.

Saoirse thinks Atlantis sounds a little sad when he explains that whoever imagined and produced the academy was someone that knew him well, which suggests that they were friends. The way he speaks also seems to indicate that something may have happened to that individual, and since Saoirse doesn't want to upset Atlantis she only nods respectfully without commenting further.
The arrival of three excited younglings, fortunately, seems to brighten Atlantis' mood, and Saoirse smiles as she watches him interacting with them. One of the younglings, a Bothan girl, begs Atlantis to continue keeping the mists around the academy at bay for some reason, and Saoirse tries not to smile in amusement too obviously when the Ugnaught boy sarcastically asks the Bothan if she hadn't noticed Atlantis has someone with him. Saoirse waves to the Bothan and Ugnaught before they both wander off and start looking for something on the ground, which she supposes explains why the girl had asked Atlantis to keep the mists back.
Returning both the bow and the smile that the human boy gives her and Atlantis, Saoirse has to suppress the smile when, after getting a closer look at her, he starts tugging on Atlantis' pant leg and whispers something in his ear. From what Atlantis says to Nick, as she learns the boy's name is, Saoirse guesses that Atlantis was right about the possibility some of the younglings might recognize her after all.
Following Atlantis' example, Saoirse squats down so her height won't be so intimidating for Nick, then smiles and gives him a friendly wave, "Hey there, buddy! I promise I don't bite, she jokes to try and set the boy at ease. I take it you're a Limmie fan, huh? Even though she feels it could be a silly idea, since she is just a university level player that probably wouldn't be recognized anywhere other than here on Umgul, Saoirse holds up a finger and tells Nick, Say, I think I have something you might like, Nick. Taking her backpack off, Saoirse gets her bolo-ball out, cleans it up as best she can with the sleeve of her hoodie, digs around for a permanent marker, then signs the ball and holds it to Nick, There you go, little buddy. Trying out another joke to help set Nick at ease, she says, No autograph fee or anything, just for you. She nods over to where the other younglings are still conducting their mysterious search of the ground, Those guys though? They'll have to pay if they want any autographed souvenirs. Putting a finger to her lips, Saoirse grins and adds, Shhh. . . don't tell them that though."
