@ableaustralis: We're fighting on the same side, unfortunately, but I would love to tag team that with you, if you're down for a game of "Headshots with Friends."  EDIT: If I haven't already stated this, we have a change of plans for GALSAF. We'll be showing up full force. Probably just a couple of writers other than myself, but our entire combat force will be showing up, not just a single battalion. |

It therefore seems unlikely that I will be detaching a battalion to meet you. However, if the bosses don't object, I'll still be glad to run the artillery.

I will likely be pretty overwhelmed with real life stuff and fighting Ashrah, so if you want to help with artillery and defenses, I'd be more than happy to let you do your thing with whatever you want.

Able: Sounds good to me! Feel free to just show up with our boys as we enter the system, or link up with us once we reach the surface.
I'll be focusing my posts to cover one distinct unit for each of our branches, and then simply narrate the rest of the force in a general sense. So, one unit (likely a battalion) from each of the 1st Infantry Brigade Commando Team, 1st Armored Commando Brigade, 1st Airborne Commando Support Battalion, Black Operations (just 8 guys), and the fleet itself, of course.
We have a small starfighter group, and dogfighting is too personal and detail-oriented for me to take on while handling everything else, so they'll likely only show up here and there to provide cover and support
Final note: Do we have a timeline for this all to kick off? I saw Sin's initial objective posts. I'm Pacific Standard Time, and have classes from 0800-1430 (8am-2:30pm) every day, with a break from 0900-1330 (9am-1:30pm).

Objectives for KDY and ground are up.
Those arriving in orbit, take note of the defenses posted by Gideon Raith here.
There are cloaked asteroids and mine fields around the system at the Mandeville points. You don't get to just jump in and act like there's nothing there.
Force users, just start posting where you are wanting to fight. You're messing up the defenses trying to arrive. At this point, you should already be there.
Not kidding about the defenses in the open orbit thread. Don't make Gideon angry. You wouldn't like him angry.

Sounds good to me then. I'll be making an entrance post here in a few minutes, just writing it up. I may end up not posting it for a couple hours though, I have a class here in about 50 minutes and I want the post to look good.
Anyone know of the best way to make maps on a Mac? I was wanting to draw up a quick tactical map for the groundside battle to help orient things easily based on Sinistra's descriptions. Again, I'm using a Mac and Gimp is the only picture making tool I have, and it's a mess for me to figure it out. There is no function for just drawing a damn square, wtf!? lol

Also i plan on using this battle as my way of getting in with the Mandalorians. So if I can bump into a Mandalorian in which can get me into the culture and perhaps even a clan, that could be sweet.
