I'm slating this for kickoff on December 1. It's never too late to get involved. But let's take a moment to discuss my expectations for this.
1. There are several people who are looking to get rid of their fleets so they can build new ones. Bring it on. Blow the crap out of each other.
2. This is the last battle in the war. Superweapon plot is scrapped. Motivation for this battle is pretty simple. Taung owes DT for their destruction on Lianna and Kuat is their home. Taung tips his hand to Sin, letting her know they are coming. The Jedi Masters on Coruscant are closer to Kuat in the Core than others will be to come help. Time is fleeting. It's time for a last stand.
3. This is not a closed RP. Let me repeat that. This is not a closed RP. I know I have a sign up but it's really just to gauge interest and to touch base and keep track of making sure it's not completely one sided.
4. That being said, I'm not going to hold hard and fast to troop limits, fleet sizes or artillery. Just don't be an ass. No GMing, no PGing and no calling hits, and everyone's happy.
5. Considering how many people are signed up right now, we will not be observing a posting order. It's just too many people to ask to wait. I suggest you all start pairing off or talking together now to figure out who wants to end up fighting whom.
6. There is no set thread for this to take place in. You want fleet combat, duke it out in orbit. You want to invade the drive yards, go to town. It's open to be destroyed. You want to fight it out planet side with armies, bring it on. Everything is open, everything is free for destruction and DT will roll with whatever happens IC after the battle is over. If I have to rebuild everything, who cares.
7. The point of all this is to have fun. If you find yourself stressed about it, upset over the actions of an opponent, or generally not enjoying it, write your character out of it. Come back later if you want back in.
8. If RL kicks your ass and you're not going to be able to post, write your character out of it. One line is all it takes. We'll understand. If you can come back later, great. If not, oh well.
9. If you stop posting in the middle of the battle, we're dropping you from it. Your character will be written out that s/he disengaged their foe and retreated.
10. Considering the number of people who will be taking part, keep your posts brief and on task. I know you can write three pages in MS Word about the 6 seconds it takes for you to parry your foe's attack. Save it for another RP. Your posts here should be like mini skirts - long enough to cover the sensitive parts but short enough to keep people interested. We all need to be able to follow what's going on and I don't want to get burned out on huge walls of text (looking at you, Walter and Gideon
).
11. This is Kuat. Notice the Drive Yards. Yes, it's huge. Look at the top of the ring on the right hand side. Yes, that's a cityscape. Yes, KDY is full of civilians. Roughly 900,000,000 people will still be on the Drive Yards at the time of the battle because we could not evac everyone. It is NOT a DT staffed target. You hit it, you take the fallout for killing millions of innocents. Yes, the Drive Yards are thousands of miles in diameter. It's going to take A LOT of firepower to completely destroy it. Be realistic if that is the route you plan to take.
12. Every few posts, I will posting a quick update for where things stand and NPC reactions. If you have a problem with an opponent, work it out OOC. If you can't, disengage and switch opponents with someone else. We should have plenty of people to cover everyone.
