Who: Ander Tagira and a team of 3 GALSAF Commandos vs. eralam and a team of 3 of his own. Where: Anoth's third orbital segment. Rules: Standard. Equipment: >Weapons: Verpine assault carbine Verpine shatterpistol Gauntlet blades (each hand) Hand/Projectile Grenades (Fragmentation, Incendiary, Flash/Sonic, HEDP) Lightsaber (Ander only) Grenade launchers (rifle mounted or unmounted) >Armor Partial Beskar'gam, with durasteel shoulder and lower leg plate (Ander only) Durasteel Katarn-type Commando armor (Commandos) Mandalorian helmet system (Secure comms, HUD, sensor systems linked to weapons) >Miscellaneous Equipment Conventional land navigation gear Maps Flares Climbing gear (cables/grapples) Ammunition for weapons Survival/Medical packs A remote planet, the world was made up of three massive pieces that were formerly wound into one large mass. Orbiting a common center of mass, two of the fragments were close enough to share a deadly atmosphere rendering it completely inhospitable; when they occasionally scraped together, a static discharge was generated, creating a sensor-masking electrical current that roiled across the surface. The other fragment, father away from the other pieces, had maintained a life-supporting atmosphere and was considered to hold the third orbital position in the system. Orbiting a white dwarf, the world's sky was violet throughout the entire day and night, casting a mysterious glow across the landscape.

All GALSAF Infantry Commandos operate utilizing the same basic design of Beskar'gam armor. The armor is based roughly on the Katarn Mark III Armor utilized by the Republic Infantry Commandos of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.
The armor has been heavily redesigned to accommodate the decades of weapons and armor advancement that has been made in the years since the end of the Clone Wars.
Armor Description: GALSAF Commando Armor is a light-weight beskar [Mandalorian iron] plated armor system designed to be worn over a vacuum-sealed body suit, and gives GALSAF Infantry Commandos the protection and mobility they need to close with and destroy the enemy.
Armor Specifications:
Weight: 25 kilograms [55.1 pounds]
Beskar [Mandalorian iron] plating (Ander only): This durable material, found only on the planet of Mandalore, is one of the strongest materials in the known Galaxy, surpassing the reliability of phrik, cortosis, and durasteel. Capable of withstanding direct contact from blaster weapons [including but not limited to, light cannons], projectile rounds, fragmentary and concussion grenades, and artillery rounds, beskar is the ideal material for the armor systems of GALSAF's Infantry Commandos.
Durasteel plating: These plates are made of the incredibly strong and versatile metal alloy durasteel; created from carvanium, lommite, carbon, meleenium, neutronium, and zersium. They are capable of withstanding extreme natural conditions such as blistering heat, frigid cold, and monumental physical stress, even when very thin. These plates also provide superb protection against energy and projectile based weapons, though are not capable of withstanding the same capacity of stress as beskar. Large calibre armor piercing projectile rounds are capable of puncturing durasteel with adequate efficiency. Because of durasteel's strength against lesser weaponry, GALSAF Commandos sport a thinner layer of durasteel to lighten the weight of the armor, though maintain their defensive qualities against most small arms fire. Only the chest, back and side plates, as well as the helmet, retain a full-strength layer.
Color: For this battle, mottled grey-white, to better blend in to the rocky, snowy terrain of Anoth.
Armor Plate Breakdown: 1 – Helmet 1 – Chest plate 1 – Back plate 2 – Shoulder plates 2 – Upper arm plates 2 – Elbow plates 2 – Lower arm plates 2 – Gauntlets 1 – Codpiece 1 – Rear plate 2 – Ventral thigh plates 2 – Dorsal thigh plates 2 – Knee bracers 2 – Lower leg plates 2 – Plated boots
Complimentary Armor Systems: GALSAF Infantry Commando armo is designed to support a series of integrated systems that provide critical services to the owner commando. Included are environmental, sanitary, communication, Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance [ISR], defensive and weaponized in nature.
Non-Helmet Systems: Environmental/Climate Control Systems: These systems provide the commando with the ability to control the temperature, humidity, and thermal output of their armor. These controls can be utilized to control hyper- or hypothermia, as well as adapt to any nearby external temperature source in order to evade thermal sensor systems.
Sanitation Control Systems: These systems recycle the commando's liquid and solid waste, converting liquid waste into consumable water, and storing solid waste in an easily disposable manner. Even sweat can be absorbed by the thin moisture-wicking layer of the vacuum-sealed body suit and converted into distilled water for consumption.
Close Quarters Melee Weapons: This system is built into the backs of both wrist gauntlets and is constructed from a razor sharp durasteel edge needed in any close quarters conflict. The pressure activated frame of the blade allows it to be utilized as a cutting and puncturing tool for not only soft targets, but equipment, doors/hatches, and even the hull plating found on most civilian and light-armored military transports.
Passive Deflector Shields: Similar to the deflector shield systems from the Katarn Mark I, II, and III designs, the shields built into the GALSAF Infantry Commando armor utilizes a passive sensor system that activates only in areas of the armor plating that have been compromised. This passive activation system allows for power to be utilized only when needed, and relies on the defensive plates system as the commando's primary means of protection against projectile, energy, and concussive weapons.
Bacta Injection System: This system allows for the easy application of bacta injections into the commando's body, allowing for rapid recovery from even traumatic injury under moderate combat circumstances. The injection process is passive, though can be activated intentionally by the individual commando or a nearby ally.
Helmet Systems: Beskar Plating (Ander only): The outer layer of the GALSAF Infantry Commando helmet, or Buy'ce, is made of the same Mandalorian iron as the armor plates comprising the remainder of the armor system and includes a variety of systems critical to the operations conducted by GALSAF Commandos.
Durasteel plating (rest of team): The plates of these helmets are composed of full-strength durasteel plates.
Electricity-resistant Mesh Underlay: The secondary layer of the Buy'ce is constructed of a thin layer of wire mesh designed to seal the helmet against EMP [Electromagnetic Pulse] weapons and defensive measures, as well as provide a light concussion-protected layer, as beskar itself, though it protects against the energy and physical damage caused by most weaponry, does not protect against kinetic energy transferred on impact. Built just underneath this mesh layer resides the buy'ce's audio and vocal systems, which are designed to filter the noise of combat when necessary to allow for easy communication. Can likewise be sealed against sonic waves above acceptable decibel levels.
Filtration System: This system protects the commando against any known form of biological or chemical attack, as well as seals against vacuum/depressurized environments and provides the wearer with a lengthy supply of breathable air that is recycled using carbon-dioxide scrubbers. These systems can also draw oxygen from a toxic environment, giving the commando a relatively unlimited supply of breathable air.
Communication System: The communication systems built into the helmet provide long-range communicative abilities to the commando and is capable of sending and receiving transmissions in infrared [IR], radiation-based line-of-sight, and tight-beam waves. This allows the commando to maintain contact on securely encrypted as well as open-ended transmission channels.
Heads-Up Display [HUD]: The HUD system displays all relevant data directly to the wearer, including [but not limited to]: The relative health and location of the wearer and any surrounding allies/hostiles; make, model and relative accuracy of surrounding weapon systems; and electrobinocular and night-vision optics. The visor itself can adapt opacity instantaneously to changing lighting conditions, whether they are brought on by ordnance or a simple alteration in natural or artificial light. The HUD system can also detect and mark up to 40 different targets at one time, be they vehicles, personnel, aircraft, or even designated locations. Can be manipulated by voice command, eye-lid movements, and even tongue controls to display whatever combination of data the commando decides is relevant. Furthermore, targeting data can be transmitted from or be received by any individual commando's helmet, allowing for instantaneous communication between GALSAF commandos and their support assets.
Scanning Systems: These optical and passive sensor systems can detect movement under any lighting conditions, utilizing IR, radiation-based, broad-spectrum, and even UV wavelengths. Manipulation of these different capabilities allow GALSAF Commando's to make accurate detection even on many types of stealth/cloaked personnel, vehicles or equipment.
Weapon systems: This equipment is tailored to the needs of the mission, and are composed of various projectile and energy-based weapon systems.
Verpine Assault Carbine: The Verpine assault carbine is an offspring of the standard Verpine shattergun and the Verpine sniper rifle. Compact and greatly adaptable, the Verpine assault carbine is capable of the same long ranges as the sniper rifle variant, though at less weight. The weapon itself weighs only 2.5 kilos, and is capable of accurately hitting targets over 2.5 kilometers away [1.55 miles], and is entirely silent in operation due to the magnetic rail-system it utilizes for the propulsion of projectiles.
>Optical equipment: The Verpine Assault Carbine is equipped with several pieces of optical equipment. The first is a long range scope capable of detecting targets 5 kilometers [3.1 miles] away, and is capable of detecting utilizing the sonar, UV, radiation, broad-spectrum, and IR wavelengths. The scope's data can be relayed to the Commando's HUD for maximized effectiveness. The weapon is also equipped with standard flat-screened red-dot optic for close-quarters reflexive fire. Installed on the Commando's dominant-eye side of the weapon, these old-fashioned optics allow for quick draw and accuracy in close-quarters engagements.
>Selective fire: The Verpine Assault Carbine is equipped with three firing modes: Automatic-, Burst- and Single-fire. The Automatic-fire function will fire projectiles as long as the trigger is depressed and ammunition is continuously fed. The Burst-fire function allows for two projectiles to be fired with each successive pull of the trigger. The Single-fire function fires only one round per trigger pull.
>Adjustable/folding stock: The weapon's stock is capable of folding to either side of the weapon to allow for easy storage or close-quarters handling, and can also be adjusted by length to provide a more comfortable and accurate firing position for its owner Commando.
>Bi-pod system: Beneath the weapon's barrel, forward of the receiver is a bi-pod system that folds into the fore-grip of the weapon, allowing for quick storage that does not hamper the operator's use of the weapon when mobile. The bi-pod legs adjust in length to provide better stability and accuracy, the feet end in rounded pads for hard surfaces (rocks, permacrete, metal), and are surrounded by short metal points that dig into softer terrain (dirt/soil, sand)
Verpine Machine Rifle: This rifle is an automatic variant of the Verpine Assault Carbine. Redesigned to allow for larger capacity magazine feeding, the Verpine Machine Rifle weighs in at 4.1 kilos [9.03 pounds) and boasts a fire rate of roughly 1,000 rounds per minute. The weapon has a maximum range of 2.5 kilometers [1.55 miles], and a maximum effective range of 1.9 kilometers [1.18 miles]. The weapon feeds ammunition from a cylindrical magazine mounted lengthwise along the bottom of the receiver, and is capable of supporting 350 rounds. The dual-rail loading system built into the weapon allows for ammunition to be fed by two loading mechanisms, nearly doubling its rate of fire in comparison to other machine projectile weapons.
>Optical equipment: The Verpine Machine Rifle is equipped with a similar optical system as the Verpine Assault Carbine, though with a lower power scope to accommodate the weapon's decreased range. This optical maintains the same variable systems as its cousin.
>Selective fire: This weapon is capable of firing in either Automatic or Burst modes. Burst mode on the Verpine Machine Rifle fires four rounds per trigger pull.
>Adjustable/folding stock: The stock on this weapon is capable of being folded to either side of the weapon or being adjusted in length.
>Bi-pod system: The bi-pods on the Verpine Machine Rifle are of the same design as those of the Assault Carbine, though are mounted closer to the receiver to allow the use of ergonomic grip and other tactical equipment.
Verpine shatter-pistol: The Verpine shatter-pistol is a single-hand weapon system that allows for fast, accurate and silent shooting. The weapon weighs only 1 kilo [2.2 pounds] and is equipped with a 2x magnification optic that retains the same transmissive capabilities of the Verpine Assault Carbine Optical Device, though with no alternative optical modes.
Merr-Sonn under-barrel grenade launcher: The Merr-Sonn under-barrel grenade launcher is capable of ranges exceeding three-hundred meters, though with some reduced accuracy. It features an automatic ejection function that allows the operator to load the next grenade round without having to withdraw the expended shell themselves, nearly doubling reloading speed. This launcher can be attached to the Commando's Verpine Assault Carbine, or fired separately, depending on the Commando's preferences.
>The grenades deployed by GALSAF Commandos for this operation: 1x Flash 1x Concussive 2x HE-DP 1x Thermal Detonator Grenade 1x Incendiary Grenade
Each of these grenades have structures that have been redesigned to allow usage with the Merr-Sonn grenade launcher, or to be manually armed and thrown.
Miscellaneous equipment: Climbing gear (cable/grapple-launcher) 1x Thermal Detonation charges Slicing hardware/software Nutrient packs

Ander Tagira, GC-01 Lord Commander, Galactic Security Assistance Force [GALSAF] Anoth>Anoth [System]>Wild Space [Region]>J-20 [Grid Coordinates] 0204 hours, by Anoth 14 hour Rotation period Able Team, this is Baker reporting no activity.Gotcha Baker, likewise. Keep pushing along the ridge base, we have you in sight.Sure thing. Are we sure the intel was correct? Habitable fragment? That's what ISR reported. Don't see how long they could hang around on the other two. With enough consumables and a decent kit, we can hang about anywhere.True, but if they're running slaves, they wouldn't be able to manage it for long.Good point. We'll keep our eyes peeled, let us know when we're dropping out of sight so we can let you move.Roger.Ander Tagira lowered his rifle and fixed his gaze on the barren landscape. Packed snow and ice gave him a foothold, though the terrain was treacherous enough he had to be careful where he stepped. GALSAF had received intelligence that a small group of smugglers was running slaves through the system from Naboo and Cerea in the Inner Rim to the Hutt Clans in the Outer Rim. Sentient trafficking being one of GALSAF's top priorities in their day-to-day operations, Ander had taken responsibility for the mission personally. Fresh from operations in the Core, Ander and his Commandos were the first ready when the intelligence came down from Field Marshall Junix with GALCOM, only a few days before. ISR assets from GALSAF's First Black Operations Group had tracked the smugglers Varonat, and from there to Anoth. Ander's objective was to eliminate the smugglers themselves and secure the slaves for evacuation by their support units currently docked at Polis Massa. Ander's team had arrived on the fragmented planet just before the end of the last rotation period, roughly four hours before, but had yet to see any sign of the smugglers. There hadn't been any vessels in orbit when they had arrived in the system on board a stealth-equipped LA-AT/i gunship, though Ander expected that to change at any moment. The habitable fragment of Anoth was small, though not small enough for him and his team to scout out on their own. The gunship was maintaining a distance from the icy planet, dropping in every half an hour to run quick scans over areas Ander and his dismounts hadn't yet covered. With him were Commandos from 2nd Section, Able Company, 1st Battalion. Sergents Enith Fengly, Voris Kilroy and Geff Codwin were all distinguished Commandos, though only their Section Leader, Gunnery Sergent Gharan Waslow had served with Ander on Yavin 4 as part of the Defense Force he had founded there to support the Jedi years ago. He didn't doubt their abilities, though the terrain would prove to be a hassle even against smugglers. Ander ensured both teams maintained constant communication and tread their way carefully across the mountainous slope on which they were. The slope wasn't entirely too steep, Baker Team was back at an overwatch position roughly a kilometer and a half behind Ander and Sergent Codwin. Once Ander and his fellow commando began to fall out of sight from Baker Team, they would pick up an overwatch position themselves to allow the others to move passed them. Bounding like this, one team at a time, Ander expected to cover as much distance as possible while maintaining concealment. The last thing he wanted was their targets to spot them first. He had worried briefly that their gunship might be seen during insertion, though quick scans of the area near the base of the mountain range had come up empty, which Ander hoped meant they hadn't been seen at all. Considering how desolate and empty Anoth was, any activity at all would be regarded with the utmost seriousness and suspicion by even the laziest of smugglers and pirates.
