Once they had stilled their minds enough, Gavin started the clock. He went on for a full hour or so allowing them extra time once he was certain each had connected fully, allowing the to dwell within the currents. Nidana would be farther along due to her after hour training he had been giving her as he worked to help control her power.
Calling them, he drew their attention to slowly pull them from their meditation. "Alright, that is enough for today. I know that this isn't the easiest task. But keep at it, find things to help connect you faster until you no longer need them and can slip into it with no help. Tomorrow, I want you all here two and a half hours early, adding in meditation for thirty minutes after all else. But considering the level of work needed for this step, I want you to also meditate when you wake up and before you go to bed, which includes tonight. The more you work at it, the quicker you'll get there. That's all. Dismissed."

Arriving the next day, the students went about the tasks giving to them. While they were still pushing hard with the physical aspects of their training, they found some peace and rest during their meditation period. This was going on day six and they were wondering what the day's lesson would be.

Gavin moved to the front of the class after watching them for two and a half hours. It would be the last day for the week he'd train them, allowing them a day to relax a bit, though he'd still recommend training. Calling them forward, he held a bag in his hand. "Yesterday, you all began diving into the Force, trying to connect with it. After four sessions of meditations if you all did as instructed, it should be a little easier now, enough that we can move on to the next lesson. Today, you are all going to lift one of these." Reaching into the bag, he removed a stone a bit larger than his hand. "I want you all to lift this and hold it in the air for the duration of the session."
Gavin moved about and handed each of them a rock much like he picked out. He then had them spread out and place the rock three feet in front of them. Once they took a seat, he began to speak more. "Just like yesterday, I want you all to slip into the Force, to feel it. Feel it within you, outside of you, around the rock. Connect with that energy around the rock and take hold of it and lift it into the air. I want you all to do this without the need of your hands, but for now, you can if it helps. But I want you all to work towards to not using them at all. Begin"

Taking the rocks given to them, the students spread out and took a seat, setting the rock in front of them at the distance told to them. After four sessions of meditation, they had, in fact, becoming a bit better at connecting to the Force. At most, ten minutes had past before they all had connected well enough to lift the rock. It took another ten minutes before they were all able to get the rock. For some, it was an easier task, lifting the rock with near relative ease. Others struggled a bit, the rock being shaky and dropping every once and awhile. All started with their hands, but as time progressed a couple began to lower them, capable of holding it without their need.

Once all the rocks were in the air fully in front of each students did he start the clock. Twenty minutes in, he already could see one or two of them attempting to lower their hands. It was at this point he decided to up the level of difficultly for them to achieve. "Not only do I want you all to work on doing this without the use of your hands, but once you are ready and certain you have full control of the rock, hands or not, begin spinning the rock in place. Do not try to push farther than what you can achieve, but do work to improve that control by spinning in one direction, then another, then another effectively getting to turn on three separate axis. Once you are able to do that, then I want you to have the rock spin around you while managing the other three spins."

Time pressed on as they took in Gavin's words. It was a difficult task that only got harder. It might have been basic technique and ability, but it was something far different than physical combat. Everything from the physical aspect could be done and was easy to grasp within the mind. Understanding the Force, something that couldn't be seen was something else entirely. The mind had to wrap around that reality.
But slowly, progress was being made. For a few, they were working without their hands and starting to spin it in one direction, such as Krokaa, Duvrax, Xar, and Zul. A few chose to work on to holding the rock without hands as the others chose to use their hands but start the spinning. No matter the path, they were growing.

Gavin could see the progress being made, a small smile coming to his face. For the majority, the had a desire to grow and become better. There were only a few who were just learning at an average pace, but they were progressing as well. With an hour at an end, he brought them from their task. "That is enough for now. Tomorrow, we will not be meeting a for a lesson. I recommend you all find some time to go through your lessons anyway to keep up the practice. As for today's lesson, I want you to add it in to your morning and nightly task of meditation. Come the first of the week, we'll pick back up. Now, I want you here for three hours spending thirty minutes on each task. In addition, if none of you have been going to the library, start doing so. Begin studying the Sith, the philosophy, the code, and the history. That is the primary thing I want you to start learning. Of course, you are all free to study whatever else you desire as well. Now, enjoy your day off. Dismissed."

It had been two weeks of training since the first lessons. Each day the fifteen students went through daily training, constantly going over and reviewing the basics learned within the first week. With eight hours spent a day training and honing what they learned, they were coming along well. With some of what he had to show regarding basic techniques coming along, it was time to give them the last bits of knowledge needed to finish off the basics.
Reaching the second day of the week, they had come back around to focused attention to blocking attacks. There was nothing else needed to learn within the realm of evasion, but for defensive walls, there was still more to go. Gathering the students together, he began the lesson. "Alright, I’m going to show you a few more techniques involving blocking. These will focus attention on single handed blocks. While the previous blocks can be used with a single hand, these are more focused for such, better setting you up for counters. When someone attacks at your chest, you can direct them up, down, or to the sides with a brush of your hand." He demonstrated the blocks, focusing his attention of deflecting attacks with his wrist.
"Next you can block kicks and attacks from the side by curving up or down into the attack." He then demonstrated the next collections before sending them to work on the blocks.

The students worked hard, working to master what had been taught to them. Though the first week’s training eventually dulled some of the emotions the students felt, the constant training without learning new things were starting to stoke those fires once more.
But despite this, they continued without question. Taking in the new blocks, they had a little something new to do. But a few thought it would take little time to become skilled in them, keeping the emotions alive.

A couple days past until they reached the point of attack once more. He had started them on the harder points of attack, hitting precision strikes against vital organs and pressure points. But it was useless unless they also knew ow to attack regularly when waiting for thier openings.
He demostrated the different punches and their pupose, from the uppercut, to hooks, to straight jabs, as well as chops from variying angles. But that wasn't all. He showed them a few different kicks as well. But he didn't just show them, but stressed the importance of form as well as attacking with the whole body to add in the most amount of strength they could.

Another day, another lesson. The students took to the attacks shown to them and picked up rather quickly by using what they were already doing in their precision attacks. Bit by bit, Gavin was rounding out all they’d need to know in regards to the basics. That way, if they were ever put into such a position, they had some knowledge in how to fight and defend themselves.

As the day for meditation came around, Gavin tripped the students up with something different. At least for that day. Figuring that the extra hour of meditation no longer necessary with the three hour a day required, he chose to give them another day at refining their control of the Force. This time though, he was upping the ante. Instead of a single rock, they were now given ten with the same instruction as before: spin them all on three separate axis while spinning them around themselves in different patterns. The more they could do with the Force at a single time, the greater their control could be. Though they might not realize it in the moment, it would crucial to easier progression down the line.

At first, the students were glad to be learning something new, though disappointed when all they were doing was the same thing they were already doing. The instruction came with audible groans of frustrations before they began their lessons. They had gotten the hang of moving one, now he jumped to ten. It was as if he intended to drive them into walking away. But determination still won out, either to prove it to themselves or prove it to him they could endure his tedious training.

It had been four and a half months since the training under Gavin began. Everyday had become a repetitive flow of actions, finding themselves spending four hours a day in the training area, going over the same exact thing. While the first couple weeks gave some alteration in what they did, that had since ceased. Now, all they did was spend their days doing the basics, reviewing the basics, never advancing themselves further. And all Gavin seemed to do was just stand there watching them, only occasionally offering advice and that was a rarity. Nidana, when she was able to make it, was the only one to receive anything more direct from him. What did this man who had been given charge of them truly wish to achieve by teaching this way? Was it to anger them and increase their feelings of hatred for better utilizing the Dark-side? It was certainly doing the trick, some more than others.
Already had they been in the training area, going about their tedious routines for around an hour. Having done their sessions of evasion and blocking, they now shifted to counters and parries. The fundamentals were good and all, but if they were ever to be seen as valuable prospects for apprenticeship, they needed to move on from them and seek the more advanced arts.
The two Iridonian Zabrak males were the first to switch, opting to just attack each other as if in a normal spar, deciding to up their training on their own the best they could under the circumstances. The red and black tattooed Zabrak launched a heavy barrage of strikes upon the brown skinned Zabrak, his anger reaching the boiling point.
"I can't deal with this anymore, Krokaa! Day in and day out, it's the same nonsense. Any other instructor would have furthered our training, taught us lightsaber combat, greater Force techniques, anything. But all he does is stand there. I swear, if we have to go through another day of this, I'm done."
Krokaa brought his arms up in front of him to defend from the barrage of attacks before brushing them off to the side. Another punch came in the form of a left hook, to which Krokaa stepped to his right, bringing up his arms to guide the punch and give him an opening. Taking it, he sent an uppercut into Duvrax's side before jumping back to avoid the wide swing of his friend.
"Man, I get it. I really do. Sure, I believe that what we've been learning is important, but it has been non stop. Including the four hours we spend here, he expects us to dedicate another four outside of class in meditation and 'refining' our control of the Force. And that's not including the time we spend in the library reading and studying up on the Sith. It feels like that's all our life is: near pointless training."
Duvrax grunted under the impact to his side before swinging out in a wide backhand. He was already frustrated enough and the hit didn't help his mood. Most of his attacks deviated from the precision strikes they had been instructed to learn and more geared to brute strength, seeking to use his greater size to his advantage. Lifting his left arm up, he blocked a hook to his face. Pushing outward, he flipped his wrist and grabbed Krokaa's arm before driving his right fist hard straight into his friend's chest.
"You know what? Forget it. I'm not waiting another day. I've been patient. I've tolerated his inability. I'm going to the headmaster and demanding a new teacher. After I beat 'Master' Phoenix into the ground, that is. He's not that strong and I doubt he knows much of anything. He's just making it seem like he does. Once I do that, I'll show my worth. Hell, Gavin's probably holding us back on purpose to sabotage the Blackguard."
Krokaa let out a sudden burst of air at the heavy impact to his chest. Even with the padded clothes Gavin had them wear, it still was strong enough to reverberate throughout his body. Stepping back to regain himself, his eyes widened slightly at Duvrax's claim.
"Dude, no. That's stupid. You're liable to get yourself kicked out of the academy if things were to go wrong. Besides, I wouldn't go that far about him. If he was here to do that to the Blackguard, he wouldn't have made it through the front door, much less teach a class." Giving a sigh, he jumped back into the exercise. There was no longer any swaying his friend. His limit had been reached and he would act upon his desires. There was no changing that. Yet, he, himself, hoped that changes would be made. Duvrax's power was greater than all of theirs, equal, if not greater than Gavin's. Perhaps there was a chance to, at least, get the man to start taking things more seriously. "Just be careful, whatever you do."
Further towards the door, two humans from Eriadu, a male and female, went through the routines as planned, trying to push the other as much as possible. Despite their focus and dedication, Elysta wore a gloomy expression. They had established a plan to use the training that was given to them to fight back against the Sith and kill them, or, at the very least, make a successful escape from the academy. She worked to block and find openings in Cayne's defense to strike, although more than a few passed by without a challenge. She had become too focused on how things were progressing to counter effectively.
Cayne, maybe it's time we think about making a run for it."
Cayne eyes widened slightly as he looked around for a moment before continuing his assault. He came at her with a hook from each arm before following up with an uppercut with his right.
"What are you talking about? We're nowhere close to ready to do that."
Elysta brought up her arms, effectively blocking the first two attacks and stepped back for the third to slip by in front of her face. She already knew that Cayne wouldn't be a fan of her idea, but she couldn't see any chance of their plan working, not with how thing were progressing. To her, they stood a better chance at getting away now when they were insignificant specks among the Sith. Maybe the masters would just say heck with it and not waste their time pursuing them. If they stayed and tried getting somewhere with their teachings, it could be forever before they'd be strong enough.
"That's exactly my point. We're not getting anywhere with this training. How do we expect to get stronger when we repeat the same thing over and over? It's pointless. We'd have a better chance if we just leave tonight. Let's just give up."
Cayne stopped as she spoke, stepping closer and pointing at her with great tension, as if someone had threatened him. His eyes bore into her and his voice came out in a hushed, yet harsh tone.
"No! We stick to the plan. We get stronger, no matter what it takes. We will make them pay for taking us from our home. I told you before, just running won't get us anywhere; it won't make up for taking control of our world." He continued on with the exercise after a few moments of silence. Angered a bit, his attacks came harder as if to punish her for even thinking about altering what he had planned. All Elysta could do was nod and return to it. He was far too committed to taking revenge on the Sith that it scared her. If anything, she worried he was becoming just like them in his goal to eliminate them.
Near the back wall, a male Cerean and male Falleen worked through the exercises with refined speed and form. They had turned their sessions into a type of dialogue between them. While all the students were unaware of just how much they were actually growing, many would consider Zul and Xar's progress impressive. However, their growing skill came less from dedicated practice as both of them were quick studies, able to take the knowledge given to them and lock it within them in a short time. It was what made them able to adapt. not only to each other, but to the training Gavin gave them. It registered differently in their minds and allowed them to refine their techniques that much faster, especially when they were the ones working together.
Zul swung with a right hook and followed through with a right kick at the Falleen's side.
"So, have you finished reading through the Sith history yet?"
Xar ducked under the hook and brought his left arm up to block the kick, flowing smoothly into the opening he had. Reaching out, he made a jab, straight into Zul's sternum. While they were told a punch was more effective, the pair had opted for jabs to lessen the impact and damage while still improving their precision.
"Are you kidding? I finished it a couple days ago. It was quite a bit of knowledge, granted. It took me reading over a few things to ensure I got it in my head. I've been reviewing the Sith code and philosophy now. Hopefully you aren't lagging behind."
Zul brought his left hand down to knock away Xar's jab before pushing back in to jab at his friend's shoulder before reaching up to smack him in the face.
"Please. You really think I'd let you get ahead of me. I've been going over that for days now. Probably the most important part we need to be learning in the library right now." Xar jumped back, avoiding the jab and smack. He gave a smirk at the Cerean's amusing attack, knowing it was merely him trying to be a smart ass. Nodding in agreement to his partner's statement about the code and philosophy being the top priority when studying, he jumped back into the fray.

Dead center of room a Togruta female pressed her attacks against the female Dathomiran Zabrak. She moved with speed as she came in, punching straight with her right, hooking with her left, then spin kicking with her left. She had looked forward to each day of training, hoping to find something new, working to obtain greater power, power that the Sith promised her when they took her out of slavery on Nar Shaddaa. She had gained her freedom, had a chance at a new life, all at the cost of leaving her family behind. That was what her promise amounted to: power to free her family and her friends still slaving under a Hutt. Yet, she was beginning to wonder if that dream would become a fruitless endeavor under the training of Gavin.
"So do you think we may actually learn something new today, Kira? It's not that I don't value what I'm learning, it's just that I was hoping to be doing new things so to expand my horizons, gaining the power I was told I could get while I was here. It's getting frustrating doing the same thing everyday. I mean, is it too much to ask for something different, if only one?"
Prakira let herself lean to the left as Raara's first attack came, then lifted her arm to block the second before ducking under the kick. As the Togruta finally rotated around to face the gray-skinned Zabrak, Prakira stepped up into Raara's circle and made a double palm strike against her chest.
"Honestly, I don't know. I think we all feel that way, some more than others." At that moment, she let her eyes dart over to Duvrax. It was well known that he despised Gavin and his methods. Even before they could truly feel the Force, his anger was easy enough to feel resonating within any room he walked into. "All we can do is keep at it, no matter how tedious it seems. One day, he'll finally teach us something more, I'm sure of it. He is the instructor and they are determined by the headmaster. So if the headmaster gave him this job, he must know what he's doing."
Raara stumbled back a bit as Prakira's hands impacted her chest. She grunted before giving a smirk, running in before jumping with a spin to deliver a moving butterfly kick. As her feet touched down, she dropped and went with the motion to sweep the Zabrak's legs out from under her.
"You're right. I'm just getting so anxious. I really want to get stronger faster. It's not easy when you've got people counting on you."
Prakira let herself lean back as the kicks came. An easy enough attack to dodge, especially with the running approach. But her partner had moved swiftly and smoothly into her next attack, leaving the Zabrak unable to adjust fast enough to the low kick, sending her to her back. Quickly rolling away and back to her feet, she took a deep breath before nodding.
"You'll get there. We all will. Just be patient. In the mean time, all we can do is continue to sharpen the skills we've been working on. It's not like they're perfect yet anyway, even if they are the basics." She then moved in quickly to reengage her friend.
In another corner, a female Arkanian Offshoot battled it out with a purple-hued female Twi'lek. There were little words spared between them as the fought, choosing to fully spar as did Krokaa and Duvrax, though they made sure to install limits about them so neither got seriously hurt. Swift and agile, punches came, followed by kicks, neither seemingly able to create an opening for a counter strike. While having a solid defense, both women elected for evasion rather than to accept an attack in a block. It could have created more chances for a counter, but their fluid nature leaned more towards the art of dodging, being much more nimble than even the other girls of the group.
Finally, a moment came when the Arkanian found a small glimmer of hope in making her move. A little unorthodox, but the Twi'lek wasn't making it easy. Letting a punch meet her left fist, he pulled up on it before letting herself drop to the ground, moving in close to slip her free hand between her partner's legs. Using the momentum of spinning away from her partner, she forced Kosrezic to fall over her and face first to the ground. Rolling away and up to her feet, Theranna smirked.
"Come on, Kree. Not giving out on me yet, are you? What are the guys going to think seeing you face first on the ground?" She gave a giggle as she took a stance.
Kosrezic brought her arms up to defend herself from the impact and looked back to Theranna. She gave a scoff as she pushed herself back to a standing position
"Oh yes, Thera. Got to push, push, push. Make yourself look good in front of your little crush. 'Oh, Master Gavin, I've been working so hard just to please you.'" Kosrezic laughed a bit as she made her mock imitation of the Arkanian.
Theranna blushed a bit as she huff out an agitated sigh, her smirk quickly fading. She tried to keep her crush on Gavin quiet, but somehow, it had gotten out. It was a bit embarrassing, especially when Kosrezic brought it up as the Twi'lek was the most persistent with the teasing. So far, Gavin didn't seem to react so she kept silently praying he didn't know. In the end, it didn't help that the two had become rivals, though in a more positive way than most Sith within the academy. Shaking her head, she jumped back in, hoping to silence the Twi'lek on the topic.
In the last corner, a male Echani and male Nautolan carried on through the motions, fighting hard, but nowhere as hard as they could have. Between the teal-colored Nautolan's easy going nature and the white haired boy's mediocre interest in the training, neither really cared too much about becoming stronger. They had their reasons for being here, understood them, and felt like simply getting by. If it wasn't for Gavin constant pushing, they wouldn't have gone this far. But this was what was required of them, so they did as instructed.
Using the Kouho Haiho technique, the Nautolan slipped around Carvish's punch. While he wasn't the most enthusiastic about the heavy training, he did like the move and how it flowed, almost like water. He couldn't deny it felt very pleasing.
"Hey, Car. Do you think we'll ever reach a point where we are considered good enough that we don't have to train as hard or as often as we do? Not going to lie, but it's kind of a drag."
Carvish watched as Cinnik disappeared from sight. It had been done enough times over the past four months that they all understood where they went and how, no longer needing to think about the next move to make. Leaning forward, he gave the Nautolan a back kick before turning to deliver a few punches with a little more than average strength.
"I know what you mean. It certainly is a lot of work, but I doubt it'll be any time soon. As much as I dislike the idea, we might actually have to put forward the effort and get stronger before that'll happen. But I'd rather do that than get in trouble because we didn't try hard enough." Cinnik jumped back at the first kick then blocked the next punches easily enough. They both merely nodded with a sigh, realizing there was no way out of their situation. There was little else they could do but commit.
Then there was the final pair, the brother and sister from Jabiim. They went through the exercises as instructed, keeping more to themselves, even after the months spent together with the other students. Hard working and seeking to be strong so not to anger or disappoint their superiors, less they receive punishment. They were being examined by even more than Gavin as Viox had a personal interest in them.

As was typical of Gavin since the first day, he stood in the corner, hidden in the shadows in a distant location from the crew. Observant eyes surveyed the scene and his senses took in the flurry of emotion. Four and a half months of dedicated training, spending eight hour a day working to improve their capabilities and establishing solid ground work for the future. He knew full well that agitation, even full anger, resided among them at being stuck with the same repetitive tasks. Not once had he spoken a word about what his intentions were, not even a hint to grant them clarity and peace of mind that their time wasn't being wasted. A risky approach, but a necessary one.
After all this time, he saw that they had nearly reached all they could with the basics, their forming mastery reaching its conclusion. It was confident that they'd be able to effectively move forward into the next steps with greater understanding. Though they still seemed to have instances that made them seem incapable, it was only because they were sparring with others who were just as well trained as them, who knew the methods and techniques. If they were to face someone else, even a bit more advanced student, they'd see just how much they had truly grown.
As the final hour began to reach its end, he gave a final glance around the room, taking in each of those within. Duvrax was by far the greatest issue in some regards due to his anger and sense of ego. But at the same time, Gavin knew that he was just as promising, provided he could move past that anger. He suspected that it wouldn't be long before he had finally had enough and made his feelings known. Krokaa, while prideful in some aspects, had a much better head on his shoulders, trying to keep himself focused and pushing ahead, despite his own frustrations with progress. Prakira and Raara shared a desire to grow and learn, and while they hoped to soon move ahead, it was more out of being anxious that feeling as if they were being held back. Cayne and Elysta continued to hold their continued fear and anger for the Sith. He could feel their progression was merely a means to an end. Then came Theranna and Kosrezic, a curious pair. They had created a health rivalry in more ways than one and with it, pushed ahead. Zul and Xar were two peas in a pod, both craving knowledge and possessing great intellect, one that absorbed information with ease that could be translated back just as well. Carvish and Cinnik, carefree and unenthusiastic. It was clear they didn't care as much about being here, only training because it was required of them. And of course, the brother and sister Viox was watching, both growing rather well.
Taking a deep breath, he was proud of their growth and knew it was time to move forward. Tapping a hand on a crate he had next to him, he stood up and made his way out into the center of the room. "Alright. That's enough. Get over here. It's time we had a little talk." His tone was fake, making it seem as if he was upset and disappointed in them, curious to see how'd they'd respond before revealing the next phase of their training.

As Gavin spoke, the final bit of restraint left with in Duvrax broke apart. Immediately halting his actions, he turned to the man, eyes alit with a raging fire of hate and disgust. It didn't matter what the words spoke actually meant. It was all in the tone and presentation of said words that the Zabrak took notice of. He could hear the disappointing tones, interpreting them as something more, condescending, at the very least. His breath grew heavy for a moment as he yelled out from his position in the training area.
"That's it! I'm tired of this!"
The very instant Duvrax began to speak, Krokaa took in a breath, knowing what was about to come. Lifting his hand, he gripped his friend's shoulder, seeking to try one final attempt to quell his anger, though knew it was fruitless.
"Duvrax, no." His voice came out in a firm whisper, hoping that by doing so, he could have alleviated any attention directed towards them.
Brushing off his friend's hand, he began moving towards Gavin, a quick paced stomp across the room to confront the man, fists clenched tight.
"We've spent the last four months playing your little game, training day in and day out in these pathetic basics you deem so important while other students pass us by. I'm tired of it. I know I'm worthy of much more and I can't sit here and deal with your incompetence any longer, especially with you coming in here all condescending, acting like we aren't good enough." Duvrax stopped a couple feet away, his words dripping with anger and eyes burning with hatred. This was it. He'd show everyone the fraud Gavin was and how great he, himself, was.
The other students had ceased their exercises as well when Gavin called, yet slowed down as Duvrax began his rant and approached their instructor. In an instant, words began flying amongst themselves at the scene currently playing out before them.
"It seems Duvrax finally hit his limit. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long to set him off.
Zul gave the faintest of chuckles as he nodded.
"Think we should take bets on the outcome?"
"So who do you think will win this one?"
Theranna gave a shrug and shake of her head. She secretly hoped Gavin would be the victor, but it was an unknown based on what they could tell of the two.
Prakira gave a shake of her head as they approached.
"He just had to go there, didn't he? Why does he have to be such a hothead?"
Raara couldn't help but facepalm as she listened to Duvrax's rant. There might have been some truth to them, but this certainly wasn't the way to sort things out or make any kind of change.
"All I know is he's making trouble for all of us. If he had that much of an issue, couldn't he have just gone to the headmaster and been moved?"
The rest of the students gathered around, saying little to nothing amongst themselves, only ready to see what would happen. There was a desire for improvement resonating from them, but it only seemed to be the Zabrak before Gavin that felt strongly enough about it to confront the man, both literally and figuratively, it seemed.
Lifting a finger toward Gavin, Duvrax went on, not even noticing the others gathering around them. He didn't care about the scene he was making, only that he got what he wanted when all was said and done.
"I'll prove to the headmaster, the academy, to the Sith'ari that I am worthy of the greater levels of knowledge and that you are nothing but a fraud and a weakling. When I beat you, you won't even be able to walk through these halls anymore."

Gavin watched, forcing back a smirk as Duvrax went off and made his challenge. Never once did his eyes leave the Zabrak's, working to measure him up. It was as he expected. The youth's anger was by far the most potent and easily unstable. It was he who Gavin expected to make a move over all of them. And the Zabrak didn't disappoint, flat out challenging him, calling him out in front of all the students. He had to give it to Duvrax, though. He was far from the only one to think little of him or his training methods. The whole academy felt that way. But of all of them, it was this boy who truly made a stand, ready to fight and prove it. For that, he had to give the child credit for his bravery and confidence. A bit stupid considering none knew just what he was capable of, but brave nonetheless.
Once the Zabrak had finished his words and spoke his claim, the smirk finally found his face. Taking a light breath, he looked around at the other students that had gathered around them. His expression was one of amusement as he looked to upset the red and black tattooed Zabrak further. It was the perfect time for this little lesson, one he hoped all of them would learn and take to heart.
Setting his gaze upon Duvrax again, he spoke, carrying the same amused tone as his facial features did. "I see. So after all of these months, you finally had enough of training in the basics. You feel I haven't had your best interest in mind and am just holding you back. Is that it? Gavin gave a quick cock of his head, a sign of acknowledgment to the possibility. "Very well then. If you're so adamant about this, I'll make you a little deal. If you can beat me, then I'll personally go to the headmaster and seek the best instructor or master the academy has. To sweeten the deal, I'll even leave the Blackguard so as to not hold any others back. Deal? Deal. So come on. Show me just how 'capable' you really are."

As Gavin expected, the look upon the man's face, the amused color that resonated from his voice. His teeth became bared and his fists were clenched so tight, it was a surprise he hadn't cut into his own hands yet. The anger within him caused the Dark-side to grow and surge within his body, though, despite his belief, he hadn't the ability to truly utilize it yet. His eyes shifted to a sulfuric yellow, indicating the dark transition.
It was only when Gavin presented the deal that some of the anger dissipated enough to allow clear thought as Duvrax nodded with a wicked smile, more than happy with the terms and so confident in the outcome it bordered arrogance.
"That's fine by me." A dark chuckle escaped his lips as he took a stance, ready to send Gavin packing.
A moment or two passed by before the Zabrak made a move. Closing the little bit of distance there was, he swung out with a right hook, followed by a left. Never stopping his flow, seeking to press the attack and keep the man locked in defense, his right hand arced around behind him to deliver an uppercut before bringing his right foot up in a side kick. His right hand was able to pull back enough to regain some strength as he then drove it straight into Gavin's chest.

Gavin waited for Duvrax to make a move, arms out at his side in a form that showed he was open, egging the Zabrak on to attack. When it came, he decided to further show just how capable he was by slipping his hands into his pockets. Putting his focus into evasion, he ducked slightly, first to his right, then his left as the hooks came, leaning back to let the uppercut just miss him. Ducking once more under the kick, he stood straight and turned his body so that the straight jab at his chest would slip by.
His hands never left his pockets, nor his eyes away from Duvrax's. The amused look still remained, but something else also resided there: boredom. His gaze alone, much less his easy movements, displayed an ease about his defense as if this was just a child's game.
