And there it was. Adi was slipping into the role of Jedi Master quite easily, though he seemed to have learned his rhetoric long before, perhaps while he was a Prince on Honoghr and leader of LAN. Jade crossed her arms, head tilted slightly to one side, left eyebrow steeply arched in a quizzical fashion. She sifted quickly through the rhetoric to the two or three salient points that he had made so far: namely, the Mandalorian's beskar sources were limited and strategically valuable, and this was to be considered a 'secret base' for future operations in the Mando/Jedi Jihad. She was far too old a warrior to be swept along by mere charisma and style. Words were powerful weapons. One could whip a harmless crowd into a powerful mob easily enough. So, she did nothing. She neither stepped forward, nor headed for the door. She remained precisely where she was.
And when she spoke, it was quietly though with a hint of underlying steel, "Your sense of humour is ironic, Adieumus Matango. By 'vulnerable' and 'relatively undefended' you mean this MMP is situated on Manda'yaim itself." She glanced around the room, taking in its various occupants, before she looked directly at Matango, green eyes unflinchingly direct. "There are many who have a grievance with Yavin. I am not sure they would thank us for coming to their aid." She paused. Her own opinion of the Jedi she had met on that world after an invitation to visit their Academy was sadly negative. In fact, they were a major reason she had gone her own way and lived a life of self-imposed exile for over a decade. However, she had danced on the edge of a knife long enough to no longer fear death, or much of anything really. The diminutive Jedi had lost nearly everyone she had ever cared about in her entire life, and she had learned to fight well, live in shadows, and strike hard when the time was right. Indeed, she was primarily a fighter...her training as a Jedi had come much later in life.
Jade had taken her place in enough rebellions to appreciate the apparent security of this currently dilapidated and forgotten facility. As far as that went, she'd slept in much worse places. Eight decades of experience had taught her that nothing was permanent. Power, security, and position one day were only a few steps removed from running for one's life as an 'enemy of the state' the next.

"Since when is it about thanks, Jade?"
Matango was dead serious as he snapped his gaze to Jade.
"It's not about thanks, or glory, or becoming heroes. It is about saving us from another Order 66. It is about preserving all that we hold dear. Our way of life is in danger of being destroyed...starting with Yavin IV. This is so much larger than Yavin, however...so if you are seeing thanks, look elsewhere. We are here =together= to stop a genocide."
His tone was not cold, or condescending, but it most certainly showed he was more than words. He felt this in his heart...in his very soul. His eyes shone with an iron will, hell-bent on keeping the Order alive.
"The goal is simple...yet so very difficult to attain. We have to draw the Mando away from their position on Yavin IV...but we have to hit them hard. Interestingly enough, I called you based on the conversation we had on Honoghr, Jade....I'd like you to deliver the droid that will blow up the MMP personally."
Initially, he was going to wait to talk to Jade...but now was as good a time as any to reveal why he had actually called her here.

"My life has never been about thanks, Adieumus Matango. I simply prefer to avoid potentially getting stabbed in the back by an ally or someone to whom I am rendering assistance." She could have gone much further with that, but now was neither the time nor the place. Her gaze was steely, physically she had to look up at him, but she somehow managed to not give the impression of actually doing so. "These so-called heroes are very well in their places no doubt, but I suspect they could accomplish much more if they kept a slightly lower profile. Perhaps a few of them might still be around. Betrayal led to Order 66. Friends... trust..." She shook her head, "anyway, you know I would be one of the last to see the Jedi Order fall and do nothing about it." She smiled. "Besides, things have been a bit too monotonous lately."
That conversation. Naturally. And the feeling that he'd had something specific in mind when he contacted her suddenly coalesced into solid form. She was momentarily swamped by mixed feelings as if someone had kicked her feet out from under her. However, her lips formed a thin line as she replied, "Very well, it shall be done." Her arms fell, one hand resting on the hilt of her knife next to the lightsaber on her right hip, fingers gently tapping its hilt. "What is your timetable exactly? I presume this is only the first-stage of your plan." ---She owed no allegiance to the Mandalorian Empire. This was a war to survive, it was on a larger scale than the everyday struggle to survive that most people were familiar with. Everyone played a political game, whether consciously or not. She had done the same. However, she'd always followed her own code of honour. And that was exactly what she intended to do in the future.

Ak-Akari raised a hand from the back corner to indicate he did in fact have a question. The plan troubled him, not because it was bad, but because there didn't seem to be any follow up. It made sense to keep things limited while people could still back out, but this was a bit much.
"You'll excuse me for asking, but if we're just sending droids in to self destruct, what need do we have for anything but a pilot and handler, never mind that fleet you've got sitting in orbit? Surely you have more planned than that. And if thats the case, wouldn't it make more sense to wait until we have more ready to go than a single raid to send this droid thing in? Detonating something like that first thing would be a waste, as it would put them at high alert and our high risk operations wouldn't have even started yet. I say leave the element of surprise for the living, let the droids and machines take the brunt of the risk by going in second against the higher security."

Minutes after Mike's words had past, Alkor remained on his knees, staring hard at the floor with flickering eyes. His breath was ragged and harsh, but he had no reason to dispute the veracity of Mike's words. He had tasted the flavor of the man's emotions, whether he had wanted to or not, and found just as much pain and conflict in the other Corellian as existed within himself. The difference was, Mike knew how to put all of that to the side in favor of what needed to be done.
Alkor knew something of that- of doing what needed doing, and whatnot, at least- but no part of him wanted to remain on Carida. No part of him wanted for this war, or for any more thoughtless death. It was the truth of the galaxy- men die, dreams fade, civilizations turn to ash, and there would always be war. The best he could hope for if he left now was to remain as uninvolved as possible.
And the possibility of living a normal life was beyond gone, now.
Heaving a sigh, Alkor slowly rose, wiping the wetness from his face and doing his best to compose himself. He walked from the ship and toward the faint feeling of people in the force, remaining silent, keeping still in the doorframe so as not to attract attention to himself. Gods knew, he was tired of being the center of anyone's attention.

He was interrupted when Octavius came in. Adi had brought the Miraluka on shortly before he had left for Coruscant, so they had not had a chance to formally meet yet. Composing himself, he finished his thought before addressing the man."...it was time for us to step up to a higher calling. I didn't disband LAN..I merely folded them into the Jedi Order. The Watchmen are an extension of the Council to the outlying star systems. We also act in times of emergency as we are now, to keep the command structure of the Jedi strong.
We are the Watchdogs, the ones that the Jedi turn to when there is no one else to turn to. That is who we are." Adi turned and stood up, facing Octavius. "Isn't that right, Watchman Marr?" He hadn't even had time to walk over to the new Watchman, before Ak-Akari was messaging, and Tza was walking in. All-in-all, this was becoming quite the place to be...
*Octavious perked up a little when he heard his name. Being referred to a canine made Octavious smile. He did have a particular talent for tracking. Psychometry as a matter of fact. He learn it from a kiffar a while back. It was easy enough to learn being a Miralukan. He exchanged it for teaching Force-sight. A Miralukan specialty. So add Force-sight to Psychometry and what you have is indeed a very useful "watchdog". Or at least a close enough facsimile.*"Indeed we are 'Watchdogs'. Or something close to it. We are the first to 'locate' and 'take care of' certain incorrigible 'elements' when others would rather sit and reflect on what is happening."*Octavious' biting sarcasm was aimed at the usual sit and wait approach that plagues any and all council members. Urging caution while others suffer under the yoke of oppression or are slaughtered by the thousands. Ironically enough since it was the Order, or rather those who used the Force, being targeted this time. So caution was out the window. Being a staunch and unshakable servant of the light, Octavious spent most of his time doing the opposite of the Council. Normally Octavious wouldn't bother with listening to some decrepit old man or woman pull the cantankerous "do what I say because I said so or else" routine. Defiance was something of a trademark of his. Which is why he was selected to be a Watchman in the first place. After Adi speaks his piece about what was to come, Octavious doesn't shift or become worried. After all he had an inner serenity that glowed within him. He was at peace with himself and everything around him. It could be felt be all. *
"If anyone wasn't committed to the ideal Master, I don't think we would have showed up in the first place. We are here to serve. No matter what price we have to pay."

Johun nodded to himself as the others spoke. He knew this is where he was needed. Ashla always knew...
Adi, you know my answer. I am here to serve the greater good and the Order. With my saber, or my life. Whatever is needed.

A quiet smile to Jade was the only answer he was able to give before Akkie raised nearly the same question. The grin further widened by the fact that Ael had earlier recognized that Mandalore itself was the target. Oddly though, she had used its Mandalorian pronunciation...but it might have stemmed from the time she spent there. He would have to ask her about that later Right now, however, the questions needed addressing.
"Indeed. There are several targets planned....the MMP is only one among them. The Oyu'baat is another that we are striking...at nearly the exact same time. There are a couple of other targets as well, but I need to discuss a few things with Admiral Tza'uax before I reveal them. Now, Alkor, Mike....Ryloth was a tough bit of business, and I apologize for sending you into that chaos. You both performed admirably, and should be commended for the poise you have shown under dire circumstances.
I only wish we could have spared the men to properly support the operation. Unfortunately, we could not. We have more important fish to fry than to defend a planet for a senator that doesn't even like us to begin with."
He brought up the four panels again, and this time, enlarged the one showing the Oyu'baat.
"Yes, the Oyu'baat. I am sending a small squad in with compact explosive devices, and bringing it down. It will be a hit to their morale, not to mention that they broadcast from there to the Holonet....
Besides, blowing up their supply of booze might be a way to really get on their nerves."
The show of support here was fantastic. No matter the why, they were brought here by the will of the force....Ashla had brought Adi the means to fight back against the oppression of the Mandalorian threat...and he would utilize each of their unique talents to ensure her will was done.....
...And he would do his damndest to ensure each came home safely.

Something that Adi might or might not have known was the fact that while Jade looked nearly human, she was in fact, not human. Her first language was no Galactic Basic, and sometimes it's tricky pronounciations and grammar boggled her mind. She was fluent naturally after decades of practice, but it was not the easiest or most comfortable thing in the world for her. Mando'a was vastly closer to her language, and as a result, easier. It flowed off the tongue well. It was a reminder of home without being too close to home. There were reasons Jade had never and would never return to her homeworld. There were more indicators of her otherness, but no need to go into that at present.
She smiled. Cutting off the Mandalorian alcohol supply would definitely rile them up. However, it was no more than a diversion. What was not clear in her mind was whether the Oyu'baat raid was going to happen before her delivery to the MMP or after. If the former, it would distract the Mandalorians from the MMP. But, at present the Mandalorians did not seem to fear a move against their homeworld. And it might suddenly increase security around the MMP. If the latter, the Oyu'baat raid might be more of a diversion to increase her own chances at getting out of the MMP before all hell literally broke loose.
The Oyu'baat raid would also be a strike against the morale of the home front, as well as a strike against Mandalorian culture itself. It was fairly safe to reckon that no Mandalorian passed the entire span of their lives without setting foot in an Oyu'baat. In fact, most of them were regular frequenters of that and similar bars and cantinas spread across the realm of the Mandalorian Empire. Jade distinctly approved of this addition to the initial plan that entailed a special delivery to Mandalore's premiere source of beskar.
She shift her weight lightly from one foot to the other, loosely joining her hands behind her back as Adi continued unfolding the details of his plans.

Ak-Akari scratched his chin lightly, taking in the new information. What Adi was telling them now seemed a great deal better than what he had initially brief them on. He approved, though he wondered whether this was all or not.
"So a joint strike then, hitting two places at once in order to spread confusion and split their forces. Sounds like a more workable plan."
He leaned back against the table again, relaxing and taking some weight off of his sprained ankle. No need to aggravate the wound after all. He remained silent for a while after that to allow Adi time to continue with his briefing.

Alkor snorted indignantly, but otherwise, gave no voice to his dissension. He recalled the fond words of Alverion, so long ago, of drinking at the 'Baat. Adieumus might have been addled in the head or worse, to strike at a a bar. Especially THAT bar. He washed his hands of that nonsense immediately- after all, he'd play no party to the maiming of perfectly good booze.
Taking stock of those present and their opinions and moods regarding the current situation, Alkor closed himself off from the rest of them. Icily, he turned from them and, with a shaky hand on the door frame, he tapped his forehead as if to cause his headache to abate. He was getting too old for this kind of idiocy, especially now that they were telling him to play hero.
It would have been so much easier to just keep killing people and pushing the consequences out of his mind. But no. Adieumus had gone and given him a conscience, and now, there was no going back. And this was looking to be one hell of a rabbit hole.
The force itself swirled, somewhere far- but not so far- off in the distance, stroking against Alkor's thoughts, drawing his attention away from the meeting. He was here now- the way he had said he would be- but now, his mind was elsewhere. And with purpose. In his mind, reality itself shook violently. He stopped himself short of falling, and with an inaudible, ragged breath, his eyes narrowed and he struggled to 'see.'
"What is it you're trying to tell me?" He asked, barely a whisper, "I lost you so long ago. Don't you come back now to haunt me..."

*I nodded solemnly; so it had come to this, where peacekeeping Jedi were forced to play the game of sabotage. Our hand had been forced, for the consequences were beyond dire if we failed to act now. This was bigger than the Jedi Order, bigger than any force using tradition, for as bastions of the universe and keepers of the peace, should we fail, should the Order fall then the galaxy would be in peril.
I rubbed my bearded chin, I now knew what the task was and that a small squad would accomplish this, question was, who would Adimus select, for in truth I had never seen a better turn out; a sardonic smile crept across my mouth, for before me, myself included was such an unlikely bunch. There was no goody two shoes squeaky clean Jedi among us. None of us with perhaps the exception of Adiemus were in favor. Yet we were the ones here willing to do this, perhaps because the best of us were already tied up on Yavin or elsewhere.
It mattered not, this was but a start, for I was a man possessed by great drive.*"Well I am with you......all of you."

Things get interesting quickly in this meeting of misfits. Adi's rousing speech to get us going and then the undeniable questions of men and women who are more accustomed to questions and answers than orders, and although that can cause issues in the heat of the moment, it was an ideal situation for a small group who's only purpose was making the Mando population afraid. Although officially not our task I can read through the lines. We are doing the dirty work that no one can officially sanction and even we might not realize it. The problem comes because it needs done. If they believe that we will follow the rules and just be on the defensive we have lost before it began. I am not surprised as one by one the people around me agree to follow Adi. They would never have come here in the first place.
I pull out my flask and take a long swig and for a moment I see Adi, not as the Master he is now, but the apprentice that Arhiia had shown up to on Corellia with. He had shown great potential then and it's good to know that he has risen to the greatness that I had expected, surpassing even my own abilities and becoming a greater (if unorthodox) jedi than I could have imagined. For a moment I am touched by a bit of pride, although I Adi had not been my apprentice, I can't help but feel that I had, in at least some small way, help him become the man that stands before me now, the leader of a ragtag group of misfits who would end up saving the jedi order.
Suddenly I push myself off from the wall and step forward, beyond any of my fellows, until I'm standing just in front of Adi, my usually jovial expression replaced with a serious look of contemplation that few see, and do something I had done for no man in years save Dunta. I make a formal jedi bow and look directly into his eyes with my ice blue, almost expressionless eyes seeming to look right into him. Master Adieumus Matango, I will follow you and do what needs done, not because it is what the order needs, not because the council has asked me, but I pause for just a moment of breath because YOU have asked me. I will follow you to the ends of the galaxy and back, because you have earned my trust, because you have earned my respect. You have earned my admiration. Although it may not mean much coming from a disfavored master, you have my saber, my mind, and my spirit. You are a man worth following. I pause for another moment as I notice Alkor's internal struggle, stretching out my presence to him I brush his own only long enough to let him know he wasn't alone before returning my concentration to the man in front of me. You will do what needs done and I will be with you.
I stand there silent for only a moment, just staring into the other man's eyes, before returning to my place near the back and letting my gaze fall to the floor. I know that that was far more formal than anyone in this room would appreciate, but I knew Adi, and I knew such a gesture from me would get his attention and maybe give him a chance to know how serious I truly was about it. The whole display may be thought of as flashy or unnecessary by most in the room with me, but it was something I had to to for better or worse. While what I thought meant nothing to the order as a whole, and certainly even less to many in this room, but I had to make it VERY clear where I stood, and I think I may have managed that....

"Indeed, we are going to be hitting a whole series of targets. The MMP and the distraction attack on the Oyu'baat? These are but a pair of them...and our first strike back at the Mandalorians. Yes, these hits are gonna come close to home for them...I want them to feel this."
Steely resolve filled Adieumus' eyes, and he was about to continue, when first Watchman Rancis spoke, then Master Frantz. Both spoke of their resolve to stay the course, no matter the danger...but Mike's sentiments? They nearly had the Arkanian Jedi in happy tears. Mike Frantz had been one of the first Jedi Adi had the privilege of working with, even before Master Concordia. From protecting the wayward Master on Fondor...keeping the New Republic from full-on war with the man...to the many training scraps they had fought over the years...Adi had seen the man as a mentor. Now, here he was, telling Adi that he was a man worth following.
It was as if Adi was being told he was being made Grand Master of the Jedi Order. Master Frantz's words were received with much gratitude...but the thanks would have to wait. Adi couldn't afford to show any kind of favoritism to -anyone-....not even one who showed such kindness, and such stoic devotion. A smile flashed to Master Frantz, a nod of thanks, and Matango was back at it.
"These attacks will be followed with several more...but we have to plan carefully. As things shift in the conflict, we have to be able to react. We also have to get word out to the planets in the area as well...the entire Eastern Outer Rim is in danger. Some of us should go out and warn them. We can't let this spread any further than Yavin."
Taking a deep breath and exhaling, Adi ran his dusty fingers through his hair, leaving a dirty smear where his hands contacted his sweaty forehead. This was going to be extremely dangerous, and he disliked putting anyone in the line of fire...for any reason. If it were possible, he would conduct these operations on his own, to ensure no one else would possibly get hurt...but unfortunately, he couldn't. He had to trust in the fact that the ones assembled here would have the skill and tenacity to be able to pull off the terribly risky missions.
Suddenly, Adi felt a bit lighter. In fact, he felt almost normal....Apparently, Gregory had managed to get the gravity compensators working in the control room area.
"Folks, we have a lot of work ahead of us. Tonight we rest...Tomorrow, we begin. Those that aren't on missions? We train...we must be ready for anything. I think that is all for now, though. If a couple of you would be kind enough to stay behind and assist me in getting this control room up and running, I would be appreciative. Alkor, before you leave, I'd like to talk to you.
Go, get some sleep guys. We all need it. One of the food processing units is now up and running, so if you are hungry, its three doors down from here on the east corridor. Ill see you all at 0530."
Nodding to the group, he turned to Alkor, and waited to speak to the man.

Jade eyed Mike Frantz curiously. He was one of the Corellian Jedi though, she had not really seen him around much at the Academy. It seemed he and Adieumus Matango went way back and had quite a connection. She frowned. The man was really quite emotional. And quite open about it. Still, she supposed that in a way he was right. She'd come to this place because Adi had asked. Begged rather. Not the Jedi Order in its ideal state. As for getting her hands dirty, there wasn't a whole lot left that she could do on that score. She looked at her hands, much whiter than they were in her mind's eye.
As the artificial gravity kicked in she felt the familiar moment of unease in her stomach. The others looked more comfortable, but for herself it was another adjustment. After the time of, to her, normal gravity, she felt like if she stepped too hard she might hop across the floor. That would be neither dignified nor graceful. So, she took a moment, and sat down carefully upon her own outer robe. The others clothes probably wouldn't even show it, but grey dust tended to stand out upon a black background. She wheeled herself up to a terminal that seemed to be struggling to come alive and tapped a few keys.
She would not have admitted it out loud, but she wanted to know what Adi was going to say to Alkor. The one who hid in the shadows and seemed to be barely holding himself together. She wondered what he had done. These keyboard keys clicked most painfully loud. She preferred a well-used machine that was practically silent. This thing would probably get a user kicked out of any of the Jedi Libraries for disturbance of the peace!
Jade was not sure about the others, but she did not intend to stay here long. Only enough to get a night's sleep and see that this suit of armour was loaded up. Then she'd be off for Mandalore.

Johun bowed slightly to Master Matango. That felt weird and yet so right, Master Matango. A rank Johun hoped one day to achieve, but for now Johun was content with his role within the Order, Jedi Knight and Master to his Padawan Jessa Enz. Speaking of Jessa, Johun wondered where she was...

Alkor muttered discontentedly as his newfound concentration was broken by Matango, and his ice blue eyes flickered over to regard the man with vague and passing annoyance. There was another voice in his head, whispering just beneath audible levels, underlying the things Adieumus was saying to him. Alkor struggled both to hear it, and to push it away so that he could focus on the present- on what Adi was saying.
His gaze moved one way as he listened intently, regarding the Jedi Master with an almost composed and relaxed stance, and then, he shifted as the undertow of the force seemed to change, violently tugging at his consciousness. His eyes widened with a start, as if he were struck by a hammerblow to the gut, but he did his best not to move in spite of himself.
The voice was getting louder now, words beginning to make actual sense; but at the same time, no sense at all. The force was guiding him now, as if wanting to show him something, to make him understand. And the calling was more than just that; suddenly, he was being compelled. But this was not the dark compulsion that drove him mad, time and again to murder. No- this compulsion felt... different.
It jerked again, this time hard enough that an ache shot forth in his mind, and Alkor's hand flew up to his forehead. "SHUT UP!" He screamed, unfortunately now in Adieumus' face, and all of a sudden, his mind was still, was quiet. He blinked. Glancing up into the Watch Lead's face, Alkor raised an eyebrow, then spoke. "Oh, not you. Please, go ahead. I'm listening."

As Adi dismisses us to our slumber, or rather in my case, more work, I take a quick look around the control room and decide at random the control station that I want to start with. With a quick look I know that this is going to be a long project. With a mini tool pulled from one of my many pockets I pop open the acess panel underneath and look at the half chewed through wires and memory boards, yes this is going to be fun. I find what looks to be an almost functioning section and bring out my datapad, clipping it to the main memory chip and begin typing, giving it as much of a diagnostic as possible. Everytime it noted a missing connection I would conect the wires (or in some cases replace them with random bits I had in my pockets) and move on to the next, methodically begining what would probably be a few minutes work, keeping only half an ear on what is going on across the hall between Alkor and Adi, although the other Corellian yelling for silence wasn't something easy to ignore, but Adi probably deserved it in any case. I could feel the force swirling around the younger man and was begining to get curious what sort of man I had come across this time, for he was certainly more than he seemed.
In any case I move back to my work for another few seconds before I realize for the first time that I am working at a station right next to Ael Jade, rudely ignoring her (as I often do when I'm shoulders deep in a piece of machinery. Pulling myself away from my work for a second I look up at the older woman from my position now seated cross legged on the floor. I had met her once, on Corellia before I had shipped our for one mission or another and hadn't really had a chance to get to know her, although from what I hear she has started to integrate herself into academy life, well I guess at least when she isn't out running errands with the Order's top group of unique individuals. I flash my usual half-smile for a moment before pulling out my flask, taking a sip and then holding it out to her. Something to clear your sinuses? It was meant as more of a joke than anything since the stuff in my flask was of a better quality than the nosehair burning drinks some people are more familiar with. I had no idea if she even drank, but It is traditional for me to offer you a drink, no matter who you are, and if you get offended... well that's not my fault.

Jade hesitated only a second, he might not even notice it at that. Then she reached out and accepted the flask, taking a stiff drink. "Very nice, thanks. I have not seen you in quite some time now," she observed as she handed the flask back to him. She turned quickly as Alkor yelled "shut up!" in Matango's face. He seemed conflicted within himself, and she wondered why. But then, everyone had a darker side. She stood up, looking behind the screen she was messing with, then glanced back down at Mike. "Have you got any spare wires in your repair kit? Technical repair is not my particular trade, but I think this terminal has been set for failure since shortly after the fall of the Old Republic."
She grimaced wryly. No, she wasn't a technician. There had always been underlings for that. Hmmmph. She blew out a breath, hoping the mess hall was in better condition than this control room. She purposely did not focus on Adi and Alkor at this point in time, instead asking a question that was more personal to her. "Have you seen Serrin lately?" Her old friend was perhaps one of the busiest senior members of the Corellian Academy, but even so, she asked after her.

*Deciding to remain and after briefly talking to and being directed by Adi to the panels upon the right of the room I searched around before finding a tool kit and then headed across the room, lying down on my side I used the screw driver to unhinge the panel, after unscrewing it of course, and then prized it free and lay it down upon the floor.
Now setting all things straight I wasn't the mechanic or technical wizard Diamonte and Mike were, but I had in my time designed and built starfighters, not to mention the construction of several rather unique weapons. That aside I began to examine the wires sorting through the bundle identifying each wire and following it back to its source on the board which had a small read out, signal strength, positioning and things like that.
Adi wished to boost the read outs we were getting from our current scanner, in reality the scanner was as out dated as the building and he had been lucky to get it up and running at all, I believed I could boost its range though but it may compromise precision. Having discussed this, we had decided to set it up with a pulse function that would intermittently perform a precision sweep and then a long range scan, this seemed a good option for it would alert us of the precise location of anything close and forewarn us of anything coming in, providing a rough coordinate.
I set about with fusion pliers and sonic welder in hand as I busied myself; there was something I always found rewarding in manual labor, sure I could have used the force and made my life and the job in hand much easier, quicker and quite possibly better. Yet the force was not something one should throw about and the use of my own body reminded me of my physical form, I believed it kept me grounded and humble.
I followed the remaining and rather tricky yellow and orange wire to its source and after detaching it relocated it performing a tacking weld, as I had with all the wires, for there was no point solid welding them if it didn't work, and having marked the wires original positions I could easily put them back.
I turned my head and looked at the small monitor that displayed a green circle not unlike a radar readout. It pulsed and then swept and then pulsed again. I nodded satisfied, then a flicker on the edge of the circle caught my eye, I waited for the scan to pulse again, it did, and there it was a flicker again, a trace, by the force had they found us already.
I rose quickly and pardoned myself for having to interrupt Adi.*"Master Matango, I've refitted the scanner, it looks like its picking up something on the long range scan. I'm going to investigate." *I did not wait for an answer, after all I had practically dictated to him what I intended to do. Thankful that the re-adjusted gravitational settings were now in place I set into a run making my way into the hangar and quickly boarded the A-24 Sleuth I had arrived in, firing up the thrusters before the boarding ramp had even fully sealed, she shot out of the hangar on full thrust and like an arrow unleashed from a bow propelled skyward.*
