Vaathkree: Domed ShelterLooking around, this may not have been the most ideal of choices for a vacation spot. Outside of the thin dome of glass you are standing in rests the harsh world of Vaathkree. As long as the dome is intact you don't feel the heavier gravity of the planet, nearly twice that of galactic standard, or the poisonous atmosphere which quickly kills any oxygen breathing life form. However, 30 posts into the match a small meteor, the likes of which are common on this planet, crashes into the dome, destroying it's protective effects.

Ak-Akari took one step into the arena, looked around, and with a resounding tone of disgust said...
"Oh Hell."
He'd been here, twice before actually. It did not impress him, it did not amuse him, and he wanted to be out of here as soon as possible. To that end, he reached out with the Force searching for his opponent while checking his inventory. Stun pistols check, lightspear check, special grenades all in belt (6 slots, 2 flashbang, 2 sound decoy, 1 hologram decoy amd 1 smoke grenade), His camoflage suit he could only presume was working once he turned it on, his body shifting into a mottled series of patches, all coloured to fit into the surroundings. It wasn't a cloaking device, but it would be more than enough for his purposes.
"Ok, lets get this started. Come out, come out where-ever you are."

Some times, people dont take that extra step. Camouflage? P-h-lease! You can fool the basic grunt with fingerpaintings on your cloths, but a specialist uses high tech equipment and tactics. Like a stealth belt that also negates sound. Stun pistols? Try the E-11 blaster. Shooting both red AND blue bolts AND circles of energy. Practical, handy, and useless in the hands of stormtroopers. She was also armed with two smoke granades, but the mixcure inside were that of teargas and yellow gas colouring. Lightsaber with yellow cristal and a dagger. On her face was a mouth and nose covering gas mask, and nightvision-heatvision goggles. these protected her from the teargass too.
The E11 was in a holster on her left, grip aimed forward, hanging from the belt. The dagger was on the belt, on the back, grip aimed out to the right. Granades were in granade holsters on the belt also, and the lightsaber was hanging from the right side of it. The yellow twilek was wearing a slaves collar with a voice distortion device underneath her outfit. Her outfit was simple. Velvet cloth was wrapped around her limbs, head, lekkus, torso. Only the hands were free, and the eye part where the goggles hid those cold blue twins of pupills. The cloth was dark purple, and made her look like a freshly made mummy. With nice curves to add.
She was hiding, as always. Voice distortion device active, E-11 in hand. The sound dampner was also active, and she extended the stock to get ready. She was hiding behind the left doorjam, the entrence to the arena. Reaching behind with her left hand, armed it, and threw it out towards Ak-Akari after a quick look around the corner. The place she would enter from was dark enough for her to not be seen.
The canister like granade flew a second, and then started spraying yellow smoke upon landing, and rolled towards Ak. The smoke fully hid Atias door from sight withing a few seconds, and the gas was closing on Ak rapidly.
Ati activated her heat vision, her entire world turning into many shades of blue with one exeption. Ak-s bodyheat. She stepped out of the doorjam facing Ak, raised her rifle, and fired one well aimed Stunbolt towards Ak. The classical cone shaped blue energy was flying strait at his center mass.
After the shot, Atia started to strafe, walking at steady pace diagonally to the right her gun aimed at the male at all times.

Ak-Akari almost smiled as he heard the sound of a metal object moving on rock. He spun towards the source and without a second though sent a firm Force push into it, blowing the smoke grenade back through the doorway the way it came. There was a slight wisp of smoke that had been let out already, but for the most part the smoke was pooling far back beyond the door, not obstructing his vision all that much at all. Because of this, he was able to see the exact location of where the stun bolt came from.
He didn't even raise a hand to defend against the bolt. Instead, it hit his lightly armoured chest-piece and passed straight through the armour where his will turned it into energy for his Force powers. Training had long ago removed his need to use hands as a conduit for absorb, such techniques being simple mental blocks that stopped you from using the ability effectively. It had been difficult to remove the restrictions for sure, but times like this one made him grateful he had.
He still couldn't see his opponent, but he knew their approximate location. Drawing one of his flashbangs as quickly as he, could he pull the pin. Then, he took the energy he had just gained from the stun bolt, noticing a bit of a tingling numbness that was the residual effects of the energy he didn't absorb through his body as he did so, and formed a tiny kinetic push around the grenade itself, propelling it to speeds far faster than he could have thrown himself. The timer should have it setting off right as it passed into the doorway, but it was his hope that the speeding metal would strike his opponent before it detonated. At the very least it would likely blind anyone who was trying to use some kind of imaging to see through the smoke. He only hoped they weren't using nightvision, it would be a shame to win because he blinded his opponent for life.

*Something flew past her as she was strafing out of the door, now wisible since the smoke didnt get as wide as she wanted it to become. She noted her first granades faliure too a second before, and basically ignored it since she couldnt help it any more. There was a huge bang from inside the door too, must have been the thing that flew past.
What she didnt understand (no ooc pun here) was that she hit the male, and he still stood as if nothing happened. She will have to change tactics, this male wont go down with mare stun bolts. Still strafing diagonally to the right, she used quick finger work to change the E-11s settings to blaster bolts and high rate of fire. Instead of walking, she started in a light run, stretching out her right hand with the E-11 and starting to empty the clip at Ak as she got rapidly closer. Her left hand was straitened out too, ready to either bat away deflected bolts with a force technique, or rip any weapons away from the hands of her oponent. Extreme case, she might even answer a force push with a force push. She started her dash from a good 20 meters, and would get close rapidly, hopefully in close combat by the time I have to type here again.*

Ak-Akari could see his oppenent now moving rapidly towards him. Not one to take chances, he drew his spear and pushed the button to collapse the hilt, bringing the shaft to just a bit longer than a regular lightsaber, and activated the brilliant foot long yellow blade. No sooner had he done that than blaster bolts started flying. Knowing he didn't have time to deflect them all, Ak-Akari did the next best thing, he twisted and threw himself to the right, rolling as he landed and coming up in a low crouch so that lightspear, now and improvised dagger of sorts, could cover his entire body. His shoulder throbbed from a burn where one of the bolts had hit him and managed to burn through the armour before he could dodge, but in the time it would take for his foe to adjust their aim he had his guard up.
He deflected a few more bolts, his hands a blur as he delved deeper in the force than he would have liked to see them coming. Finally she was in range, and he lunged forward to meet her, his yellow blade held in an inverted knife grip, sticking out away from his thumb. This would give him great stability and make it much easier to hold onto the blade. His lunge took him past her on his left side, and he dragged the blade across where he hoped her legs would be, hoping to hamstring her and be gone before she had a chance to react. That said, he was still in a good position to block in case she brought out a blade of her own, and he would hopefully be through her guard before she get a good hit in anyway. Whatever the case, he aimed to be at her back quickly, and to turn to continue the attack.

*Now, Atias writer missed the TOR version of blasterbolts, wich homed in on their target and also was utterly redicilous. As the male rolled to the side she stopped fireing, no sense spoiling ammo on redirecting aim. She figured she was about halfway through her clip by now, and it did get one hit if she saw it right. It was hard to see with her sight colour palette (lot of red things flying into a red man on a set of many different blue shades).
As she got close, she had the momentum driving her forward, and he was low with a lightsaber. She could have ripped it from his hands, but she decided to let him keep that false sense of safety so he wont reach for an other weapon just yet. His action was not surprising. He was low, and he had his weapon low, jumping was the most sensible and most agressive she could do, and that is why she did it. It wasnt battle precognition, it was more like great minds thinking alike. Ati did not have the hybris to think that she was the only one thinking "JUMP!" out of the two of them. Surely Ak had a nice little card in his hand in case she jumped and was prepeared for it, but she had a card herself.
Jumping, just a moment before her leggs would be cut in two effectively dodging the de-limbing attack. It wasnt a normal jump, more like a sommersault over him (turning upside down in the air, landing on her feet). As she jumped, she pulled her E-11 back, not having her arm reaching out with it anymore, she had it by her right shoulder. As she got right over him, she released a forcepush strait downwards, aiming to distract him by slamming his torso and arms downwards. Her right index finger would do the rst of the job by simply pulling the trigger Releasing the full automatic power of an E11 blaster rifle (about 3-4 shots) at his center mass. Not well aimed, but from this range, she didnt need it.
She would land behind him and take a quick step backwards, in case he survived and swung backwards with the saber.
Also has to add, her left hand was ready to either grab his saber with the force if he chose to strike upward with it while she jumped, or push earlier then she wanted if he decided to push her upwards into a nice high altitude flight pattern.*

Ak-Akari saw her holding her ground, not reacting to his strike, and last moment decided it was a trap. No one waits that late unless they are planning a counter-attack, and he was too open to risk it. He instead twisted his body and rolled to his left away from her, his lunge still carrying him past her but not directly below her jump as she might have supposed. Sure enough, she jumped, pushed downward and immediately followed up with shots to the ground directly where Ak-Akari should have been.
He spun back into a crouch, facing her. He hoped that he would catch her before she could right herself but she was fast and they both came about at roughly the same time. He still had another trick up his sleeve though. With barely a moment of preparation, Ak-Akari pulled on his connection to the Force, realising all the while that he was risking tiring himself out too quickly by using it again so soon, and let a torrent of energy flow through him. However it wasn't any sort of push or attack, but rather a brilliant flash of light, twice as bright as anything his flash-bang could do, that emanated from his body, a momentary blinding light that was gone a second later. He felt drained from his usage of Force Flash, especially at such a high power, but it was nothing he couldn't put off until later should he survive the next few minutes. His mind was getting a tad bit foggy, but his body wasn't getting tired yet, he could still fight.
Hoping that his opponent was blinded he closed into close quarters, holding his strike back until he saw how she reacted to the flash, but making a concerted effort to get inside her effective firing range before she could draw a melee weapon. Should he have the opportunity he would go for a stab to the right side, preferably to the kidney area, that would end the fight right quick. That said, he left that moment of decision open so that he could react if she wasn't blinded and disoriented by the flash.

*She landed without executing her attack. The jedi jumped out from under her, and she was just not able to turn a little bit after him with her aim. Erm... she would not land with perfect balance... yeah, thats right, if she turned around, she would get out of balance.
She turned to attack the freshly rolled jedi, but just as she turned towards him, everything in her vision turned red besides the conteurs of the jedi himself. The optic cells were totally dead where they were taking the flash of the jedi himself. The Heat Vision was done for. She took an unsure step back, her head shaking slightly and her free left hand went to the goggles. She tried to remove it, but seemingly realised they were fastened around her head UNDER the mummy like garment she wore all over her body. Act of panic.
An act.
She needed her hand close to the goggles so she could press a switch wich switches the circutry to the normal vision optical cells. This way, she could hide that she pressed something. She used the Force Flash technique herself and if one cant defend against ones own attacks, how would one defend against others? She acted as if she was blinded to bait him in. Gain him some confidence. He would act solppyer, now that he thinks she can not see. he would go fully on the attack to try and finnish her and have no mind for his own safety, because she was supposedly blinded. Or so she hoped. In fact, she saw everything, and was ready to grab his saber if he decided to use that with the force, twist it out of his hand twisting towards the thumb, and using it to slice through his lower part. She would be blasting E11 blaster bolts at his face and chest area from her hip fireing blaster at melee range, wich is snapped into aim just a quarter of a second after she aims to grab the large lightsaber. Before that, it would seem forgotten, as if she didnt dare to shoot at him while being "blind".
She cuts low and fires high so she would not deflect back one of her own shots herself. She was ready to use her own force deflect if she saw him deflect bolts too. SHe had seen him use simmiliar tech, or suspected, and would not be taken unawares if that happens. Thank you Jedi reflexes!*

Ak-Akari, not noticing anything to have changed from his plan, and having been moving from the point he let off the flash, was within close quarters by the time Atia finished clearing her vision. He continued his attack with his small, dagger sized blade, moving his arm out in an arc in order to sweep away the potential threat of the blaster at her hip before she was able to fire. From there he brought the blade back in, hopefully doing exactly what he had already been trying to do: stab her in the kidneys (or kidney area, not sure how foreign biology works).
Depending on whether or not he managed to sweep the gun aside, he might be looking at a nice charred hole in his chest. Still, he wouldn't notice at first, shock being what it is, so it was really elementary for the time being; though dying seemed and unpleasant long term side effect. Also, he might or might not hit with the stab, no defensive measures with the Force actually having been made yet, though he could feel her preparing something. All in all he was committed, and things could go very well or very poorly.

Okay. First of all it seemed like there was a smattering of comments that sounded like OOC info being used. While none of these affected the actual actions its still a bit suspect and there was very nearly grounds for a double DQ. If you want examples PM me and we'll talk about it. We could be wrong but it did seem like there was a bit of sniping going on, perhaps due to frustrations. Its a shame if so but, meh. Shit happens I guess.
Now, your intro Atia. I've seen that before several times and, while repeating actions doesn't warrant a judgment against, I'd suggest you come up with some different attacks. I'm not trying to have a dig here but the old smoke bomb trick is getting a little old. Time to change it up.
As for the duel itself,,. Not much to work with as judges so we have to resort to a boxing-like evaluation. A stun bolt wouldn't be effective at 20 plus meters so Ak absorbing it would be pretty straightforward. Ak seemed to change the intent of his character upon reading Atia's posts. While it was adequately explained it did seem a bit of a stretch to me and was a way of circumventing Atia's post. Again, close to illegal but not quite.
On the whole Atia was more aggressive and creative, the fake blinding a bold tactic to move in a turn-based scenario. Its very unlikely to be effective unless the other writer rolls with it but we appreciated the effort. She also scored a hit no matter how slight or invited it was.
Atia goes through.
