During the First Order Invasion of Rendili . . .
Not so intent on watching Vashity that she fails to see and hear the approach of the speeder bikes that begin firing towards her, Katsumi lifts her free hand and, eyes behind the deep black eye sockets of her mask on Vashity, waves it in a sweeping motion to telekinetically move the Jedi into the path of the cannon fire coming from the female speeder bike rider. . . The rain that has begun to fall hisses as it his Vashity or Katsumi's lightsabers, brief curls of steam rising from the red and blue blades. Unaware of the telepathic assault that Katsumi has initiated, the effects of which are already making her feel light headed and feverish, Vashity staggers slightly as a wave of dizziness washes over her while she tries to follow her opponent as they circle around her.
Caught off guard by the telekinetic grasp of Katsumi, Vashity stumbles and nearly loses her footing as she is Force pushed to one side. As she is trying to regain her footing, squinting to keep an eye on Katsumi through the pelting rain, Vashity feels something slam into her back an instant before she is thrown forward by the cannon fire that Katsumi had pushed her in front of. Unigniting her lightsaber as she tumbles on the muddy ground after being struck by the cannon fire, Vashity feels too weak at first to do more than rise up on her elbows, the plastoid armor inserts in her borrowed tactical vest probably having saved her life.
Shaking her head to try and clear it, as yet unaware that she is suffering from the effects of Katsumi's telepathic attack, Vashity manages only with great effort to rise to her knees and then, igniting her lightsaber once more in preparation of defending herself, peers through the rain to search for her foe.

Jyotish leans to his left to turn his speeder bike sharply to avoid a blaster bolt that Katsumi succeeds in deflecting back towards him, and then briefly decelerates to lean deeply to his right to bring his speeder back onto a course that will enable him to fire on the Knight of Ren. As he depresses the speeder bike's cannon triggers to fire at Katsumi's center mass, Jyotish telepathically contacts Berdine, We don't have time to confront the Knight of Ren, we have to get Vashity out of her and to the rally point or risk being left behind. I'll distract the Knight of Ren, you get Vashity.
Berdine telepathically tells Jyotish, I understand, and then winces as she sees Vashity hit in the back by the cannon fire. Leaning forward and increasing the speeder bike's speed as much as she dares with the plan she has in mind, Berdine, relieved when Vashity moves without any sign of grievous injury after being hit, telepathically tells her to, Get ready! I'll be passing on your right side while Jyotish distracts the Knight of Ren, hold your arm up so I can grab it and pull you onto the speeder bike!
Risking a glance towards the Knight of Ren to determine whether or not Jyotish has successfully drawn her attention, Berdine decelerates slightly and leans to her left, holding her hand out for Vashity to grab onto . . .

Occupation of RendiliThe rain has become a steady downpour by the time Odilia and the other Scout troopers are stealthily creeping closer to the Alliance forces, having sent two R-4 recon droids ahead of them in an attempt to avoid the decreased visibility leading them to losing or overtaking the enemy troops they hope to follow all the way to the rallying point the Alliance forces have selected to try and withdraw from Rendili. Raising the hood of his outer robe over his head as the rain begins to intensify, the sound of it filling the air like so much white noise, Arduino holds up a hand to call the squad to a halt after the subtle nagging in his head suggests to him that he has reached the position it had been guiding him to. "Now what, love?" Arduino mutters, addressing the Force while closing his eyes and focusing on clearing his mind so that It might provide an answer if It so desires.
Nodding as though he has been answered even though he suspects that it is instinct and experience as much as anything that has suggested his next move to him, Arduino uses hand signals to communicate his plan to the members of the Alliance squad that is acting as the rearguard of the tank company that is moving for the landing zone where they will, unless Arduino's efforts to prevent his vision of their deaths from coming to pass fails, withdrawal from Rendili now that the First Order has succeeded in their occupation of the world.
The Alliance corporal in command of the squadron nods once Arduino has finished laying out his plan, and then signals the two fireteams he will be taking with him to follow as he sets out, moving now as though following the withdrawal of the tank company, and with less effort to conceal their movements than before. Arduino, with the members of the final fireteam comprising the squad, holds his present concealed position, planning to allow any First Order troopers attempting to track the tank company's movements will pass them by so that they can then ambush them from behind.

The R-4 recon drones sent out ahead of Odilia and her three fellow Scout Troopers save them from walking straight into the ambush lain out for them, the feed from their infrared sensors, relayed to Odilia's helmet's HUD, showing the enemy combatants plain as day despite the rain and their attempts to conceal themselves.
Alerting her fellow Scout Troopers to the position of the enemy troops, Odilia has them move into positions enabling them to fire on the enemy position from multiple angles, and then shoulders her E-11s, sighting in on the head of one of the enemy troopers as she says, Engage on my mark. Tightening her finger on the trigger, Odilia says, Now! and fires a blaster bolt at the head of the trooper she took aim on as three more bolts, fired by the other Scout Troopers, streak through the rain for their targets.

Katsumi draws on the Force to move quickly enough to avoid the cannon fire the Zabrak sends towards her, dodging and then rolling beneath the bolts that hiss through the rain and burn impotently into the trees around her. Completing her roll and rising into a crouch, Katsumi grins beneath the grinning skull-like mask that conceals her visage as she watches the cowardly Jedi retreat rather than face her even though they have a clear numerical advantage. As frustrating as it is to have had her prey snatched away before she had been able to dispatch the Jedi whose presence she had sensed on Agamar, Katsumi is pleased to learn that the Knights of Ren appear to have instilled such fear in the Jedi Order that their adherents would rather run from her than try to stand against her.
Unigniting her lightsaber, Katsumi rises and watches the speederbikes racing away from her for a moment before lifting her hood over her helmet and turning to begin the journey to Edethor.

Even though she is still feeling lightheaded from Katsumi's debilitating telepathic attack, Vashity grasps Berdine's plan and manages to find the strength and coordination needed to clasp Berdine's hand when the time comes. Her shoulder feels almost as though it is pulled out of its socket as Vashity is wrenched off of the ground, the motion and speed of the bike making her feel even more dizzy as she is pulled up and then all but collapses against Berdine's back, weakly putting her arms around the Jedi healer's waist to keep herself from falling off the speeder bike as they turn about and retreat from the Knight of Ren.
The more distance they put between Katsumi and themselves, the less afflicted Vashity feels, though the lingering effects of the telepathic attack, when coupled with the pain in her leg and back, leave her feeling weak and shaky. "You shot me, Vashity mumbles in a loopy, amused tone, In the back. I totally had the situation under control, she adds jokingly before saying sincerely, but thanks for the save. I owe you one."

The shot fired by Odila drops a member of the fireteam before they can react to the attack, the remaining three moving and returning fire as Arduino, fueled by what he would like to believe is righteous fury but will later worry was instead simple fury, ignites his lightsaber and moves with Force assisted speed through the rain, cutting down one biker scout and then another.
One of the other Alliance troopers is wounded in the brief battle that ensues, hit in the left shoulder as blaster bolts hiss back and forth through the rain, but soon it is only the sounds of falling rain and the humming of Arduino's lightsaber that are heard. Arduino, standing over the body of the last of the Scout troopers to fall, unignites his lightsaber and, feeling more weary than he has ever felt, goes to help carry the wounded Alliance trooper as they all set out for the rally point where Colonel Ua'niall and the rest of the Alliance soldiers are gathering prior to their retreat from Rendili.
After getting the wounded trooper to a medic so that his injury can be treated, Arduino begins looking for Berdine and Jyotish as the wait for the signal from Captain Cherney to make for the fleet in orbit begins.

Though she might, under different circumstances, find Vashity's comments funny, Berdine is too dispirited and tired to find any humor in their situation, fighting in a losing battle against the First Order so soon after Dathomir an almost crushing blow to her spirit. "Hang on," Berdine calls out over the roar of the speeder bike's engines as she accelerates, eager to reach the Alliance landing zone where they can, Force willing, escape from Rendili while their foes are occupied with capturing the capital city.
Helping Vashity off of the speeder bike once they reach the Alliance's landing zone, where weary Alliance troopers are boarding or gathered around the gunships being prepped to lift off once the all clear signal is given, Berdine steadies her and says, "Come on, let's get you on one of the transports, and I'll look after your wounds."
Jyotish, putting one of Vashity's arms around his shoulders to help Berdine take her to one of the gunships, waves with his free hand when he sees Arduino, calling out to him as Berdine manages an exhausted smile, relieved to see that her old friend has survived, "It's good to see you again, circumstances notwithstanding."

After Occupation of Rendili and Withdrawal of Alliance Forces
D'lyse eyes opened once more. It was impossible to tell how much time had passed or where he was. All he saw was black, but it was a different sort of black this time, and finally his memory began to rebuild itself and he remembered the battle in the hanger - the explosion from the grenade going off... the alarms on his biosuit blaring - the bitter taste of copper and iron in his mouth - the pain of at least three broken ribs - a shattered arm and a headache that swore to a concussion at the very least. All the adrenaline had drained from his body and all he felt was pain and regret...
First Order Specialist Kenshin Rah, a twenty-nine year old male Zeltron member of the Psychological Operations Forces, is assigned to interrogate the captured member of the as yet to be identified force that had so troubled the First Order forces tasked with securing the Rendili StarDrive shipyards after the injured and captured enemy combatant is transported from the shipyards to a hospital in a small city outside of Edethor where wounded Stormtroopers are being treated. Kenshin, who prefers when possible to first employ more subtle means of interrogation than some in his profession immediately resort to, decides to make use of the setting in his current assignment.
Having the medics only do what is necessary to ensure that the captive is not at any risk of brain injury from the concussion he had sustained, or of life threatening complications from his injured arm, Kenshin finds a set of blue scrubs and a stethoscope while the prisoner is being treated, musses his hair to suggest he is more haggard than he is, and then has the medics establish I.V. access on the prisoner so that they can run sedative and muscle relaxant drips to keep the captive docile and to lower his mental resistance. After giving the intravenous drips some time to take effect, Kenshin goes into the private room set aside at his behest for his interrogation to wait for the prisoner to awaken.
Moving to the I.V. pole when he observes the captive stirring as though about to awake, Kenshin is pretending to check the settings on the I.V. pump when D'lyse's eyes open. "Back with us, are you, Kenshin asks rhetorically in a tired voice. D'lyse should find Kenshin vaguely familiar, as most beings find Zeltrons to be, increasing the odds that he will be relieved to wake in a hospital setting rather than alarmed, and Kenshin stacks the deck further by releasing pheromones that enhance the captive's perception of his likability and using his telepathic talents to project a sense of safety and trust into the prisoner's mind. Taking the stethoscope from around his neck as though about to use it, Kenshin says, You're at the Yeles City Medcenter. Noises from the hallway outside, doctors giving orders, the beeping of I.V. pumps or monitors, and the dinging of call lights all make it clear that D'lyse is in an actual medcenter that is experiencing the high levels of activity that one would expect after a major military conflict. Can you tell me your name, buddy? And what outfit you're with? What was left of your armor wasn't Rendili Defense Force or Alliance issue, and there wasn't anything that we could use to notify who you're with that we're treating you."

Though his head was still swimming D'lyse's senses were very slowly returning to him. The training he was put through as a clone ARC Trooper before being given the rank of Commander by the Jedi Gadriel was being put to the test. He had been trained to resist various interrogation techniques and had been conditioned to resist all manner of torture but very little would be able to prepare any being for such a brush with death as only an explosion from a grenade point blank could bring. He exhaled slowly - which caused yet another grunt of pain as his lungs worked against his broken ribs - and in the blurry field of his vision a red skinned face came into focus and suddenly he was thrown back at least 10 years - before the war - before Gadriel had died - when his unit was stationed on Zeltros for the Grand Jedi Alliance.
"Alex? What happened...?"He was clearly still delirious from the drugs and the pain - a delirium that should have been spared to him in any other situations, but that thought wouldn't come to him for some time. "D'lyse - Commander - Alya's Personal Guard. He answered without skipping a beat - still believing he had been the victim of some bar fight at the Scarlet Arya and Alex - the bar tender - was making sure he wasn't brain damaged."What happened... Where is Bobby? Where is the General?"
He tried to move and another jolt of pain shot through his chest which caused him to fall back against the bed. His head cleared slightly - focused because of the pain, but whatever was left of his bodies adrenaline was shot - he needed sleep, his body needed to shut down, and he wondered for a half a moment why he wasn't in a bacta tank back on the Hammer. Then the words Alex had said started to filter through the pain. 'Rendili' 'Alliance'. He would have passed out but by sheer force of will he opened his eyes and looked back at the Zeltron attempting to focus, and answered quite simply in a low deadpan voice...
"You're not Alex..."

Kenshin shakes his head with a smile when Commander D'lyse realizes that he is not Alex, cheerfully agreeing, "No I am not Alex, Commander, I'm Kenshin, your nurse. Dangling the stethoscope he had taken from around his neck in one hand as though it confirms that he is a nurse, Kenshin points to D'lyse's chest with his other hand and, to further enhance the appearance that D'lyse if a patient rather than a prisoner, asks, You mind if I take a quick listen to your heart and lungs?"
Alya's Personal Guard means nothing to Kenshin, though he realizes that his youth could be coming into play and makes a mental note of what he assumes is a unit designation of some kind so that he can run a search on it when an opportunity presents itself. Mimicking what he remembers of the pattern the doctor who performed his last checkup had moved his stethoscope in, Kenshin pretends to listen to D'lyse's heart and lungs for a few moments, not wanting to rush into his next attempt to learn more from the captive and risk spoiling the illusion he has attempted to create. "Don't sit up just yet, Kenshin says as he straightens up and puts the stethoscope back around his neck after miming a quick cardiac and pulmonary exam, The docs are all pretty busy right now with more severe cases than yours, so your arm hasn't been properly set just yet. The good news, he grins winningly and holds his arms out at his sides, is that your heart and lungs sound good. Pursing his lips as though in thought, Kenshin says, I am a little worried about how oriented to time and situation you are though, what, he grins again, with the whole Alex of it all before. Your noggin' took a nasty hit, Kenshin explains, and you probably have a concussion. Do you feel any nausea, or dizziness, Commander? How's your pain right now on a scale of one to ten?"
After D'lyse answers those questions, Kenshin has him grip his fingers with his uninjured arm, and makes a show of gently checking the sensation, pulses, color, and temperature of his injured arm as he casually asks as though simply making conversation while going about his patient assessment, "You said something before about, um, Anna's Guard or something, Commander, was that the name of your unit? Were you working with the Alliance forces, or, whattayacallit, here on an unrealted operation on your own? Moving to the foot of the bed, Kenshin, continuing to use his pheromones and telepathic talents to subtly nudge aside any suspicions that might bubble up in D'lyse's mind as they speak, lifts the blanket back from his feet and pretends to feel for the pulses before running a finger along the bottoms of the feet and asking, Can you feel that? Any tingling or numbness?"

D'lyse rolled his shoulders back slightly and grunted noncommittally at the nurse's request to do his job. He seemingly ignored the doctor as he attempted to overcome the pain moving through his broken arm and chest to reorder the events that brought him here. He slowly worked back to the last thing he remembered - A Mission to New Vertica, then there was Jabiim to rescue the Shadowalker... what planet did the nurse say he was on... Rendili? He had never been to Rendili in his life. He knew it was a shipyard, one of the oldest in the Galaxy. Had the war come here? Is that what had brought him to this planet... if so where was the Captain? Where was Altair? The nurse's questions in regards to how he felt brought him out of his revere and he looked back at the Zeltron as if seeing him for the first time. There was something familiar with him, and something very likeable right from the go - from his time on Zeltros hanging around so often off duty with Alex and Delilah he was quite familiar with the way their pheromones worked - he was also aware there was little he could do about it, when a Zeltron wanted you at ease it was difficult to fight the feeling. A neat trick for a nurse.
"Ever broken a bone or six, Doc?"He said rather sarcastically but with as much of a smile as he could muster.""I feel a bit off, but i'll manage... Feel like my arm has at least three breaks in it maybe more... What happened to it?"
He laid back slightly looking over at his arm. There were no burns from the explosion - his armor and his biosuit saved him from the majority of the blast damage - the breaks had come from the impact as he had used that arm to shield his head from the majority of the blast damage. The next questions threw him off slightly, and he nearly answered in just as conversational a tone as the questions came across but something stopped him and he tilted his head back towards the Nurse.
"Kenshin? Was it? Its Alya... not Anna. He was a Jedi before the War, or during a different war... It all blends together after a while doesn't it?"He tiredly looked at the Zeltron, taking note of his eyes and his reaction, something about the man was nagging at him, but the pheromones made it difficult to focus on what it was and so he simply answered the mans questions as honestly as he could."As for why we are here... Im not sure I remember... I cant even remember what happened that landed me in your care... Give me a bit, im sure it will come back to me when the pain subsides and I can focus."
He laid his head back trying to exhale as slowly as possible to spare his broken ribs. He needed bacta, a strong stim shot, serious pain killers and rest. The nurse moved to his feet and tested for feeling and he nodded and grunted noncommittally. There was nothing wrong with his legs - not yet anyways.

Jyotish, putting one of Vashity's arms around his shoulders to help Berdine take her to one of the gunships, waves with his free hand when he sees Arduino, calling out to him as Berdine manages an exhausted smile, relieved to see that her old friend has survived, "It's good to see you again, circumstances notwithstanding." Arduino nods, forcing a smile as he says, "Likewise, and then rests a hand on Berdine's shoulder to give it a gentle squeeze before he says, Here, let me help, and then, with Jyotish, helps Vashity to one of the LAAT/i's being prepped for takeoff. What happened?" he asks the Jedi Investigator as he and Jyotish help her into a sitting position once aboard the LAAT/i.
Once all of the LAAT/i's and other transports have been loaded and Colonel Ua'niall receives the signal from the Maebh that it is about to jump back into realspace, after which it will head into Rendili's upper atmosphere so that the transports can dock in its hangar, he gives the order for all transports to lift off and make for the upper atmosphere at top speed.

Give me a bit, im sure it will come back to me when the pain subsides and I can focus." "Can't say I have, Kenshin answers cheerfully when asked if he has ever broken a bone, and then clucks his tongue with a sympathetic expression as he explains, From the looks of what was left of your armor, I'd say you were close to an explosion of some kind. Grenade maybe? Pursing his lips in thought, as though continuing to try and gauge how oriented to time and situation D'lyse is after having been awake for a few moments now, Kenshin asks more to ascertain how useful it will be to continue trying to interrogate his prisoner while he is still apparently suffering from the effects of the concussion, You don't remember anything at all about what happened, or why you were here?"
"It is indeed Kenshin, Kenshin confirms when asked, and then nods with an eyebrow arched in surprise when D'lyse explains who Alya was, not needing to act as though he is surprised that D'lyse is, or was if his use of the past tense when speaking of Alya is any indication, apparently part of a combat unit which acts or acted as a personal guard for the Jedi. His telepathic abilities are able to detect no lie in the Commander's assertion that his pain level is making it difficult to focus, and so Kenshin does not pursue the line of inquiry immediately, instead continuing to play nurse and saying cheerfully, Well, let's see if we can't do something about your pain, huh? Patting the foot of the bed, Kenshin jokes with a grin, Don't go anywhere, Commander, I'll find a doc and get some orders for pain medication."
Stepping out of the room, Kenshin stops one of the doctors rushing around in the hallway outside and asks for something to dull D'lyse's sense of pain, explaining that he prefers something non-narcotic so that there is no attendant sedative effect that will only make it more difficult to continue questioning D'lyse. The doctor, with an air of disapproval only thinly veiled due to the fact that Kenshin is a part of the First Order force that has assumed control of the medcenter, prescribes an I.V. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that will decrease D'lyse's pain without any sedative effect. Flagging down a real nurse next since he will need someone to get the I.V. for him and show him how to hang it, Kenshin returns to D'lyse's room several minutes later with the infusion and tubing for it in hand.
As he begins hanging the medication, able to look reasonably confident while doing so after having it demonstrated for him, Kenshin explains, "This should help with the pain, Commander. The docs are still all pretty tied up with more emergent cases, but we should be able to get that arm set soon. Priming the tubing after spiking the bag, Kenshin asks as though simply making conversation, You spoke before about Alya in the past tense. Does your unit still work with the Jedi Order?"

D'lyse took a few more moments in silence to gather himself and attempt to reorder his mind, and even as the meds started to flow through his body his memories began to reform in his head - he remembered the mission coming to Rendili, they were tasked with securing the shipyards, and that's what brought them here, but he shouldn't have been on the planet, his team should never have even broke atmo. Something had gone horribly wrong. He exhaled slightly blinking, he should have been out by now, he looked at the I.V. drip but there were no markings to indicate what he was given, but due to the fact he wasn't knocked out yet he was being kept awake intentionally. When Kenshin returned to question him he shifted slightly - attempting not to move his arm.
"The General died several years ago, we havn't worked with the Jedi Order since... Well... When was it... Our last posting was Zeltros, until the Royal Family regained control of the government to stabilize the unrest... or what passed for unrest on your planet. heh..."
The time he spoke of was at least twenty years earlier. The age showed on his face but the brilliance in his cloning had shown through regardless - he didn't look a day over age of majority - the age the clone host was when the DNA was offered for replication. His replication had been without any of the normal degradation that usually occurred with the gene code after duplication. In point of fact he had the experience of a 30 year veteran, but physically and medically he appeared to be still in his prime of life. He like all of his clone brothers and sisters that survived the chaos war to serve Altair were the same - but unfortunately the host gene sequence had been lost years ago, and so duplication off the current strain was impossible. These would be the last of their batch.
"I need to check in soon... is there a relay station within this medical center. My Captain will no doubt be looking for me... and he generally causes trouble if left unattended for long."

Not bothering to police his expressions in this particular instance, Kenshin looks understandably confused by D'lyse's explanation of his unit's last posting working with the Jedi Order, the timeframe not matching up with the Commander's apparent age. Reminding himself that there are not only several humanoid species in the universe with longer than average lifespans, but also other explanations for D'lyse's longevity, Kenshin nods and, beginning to think that his current interrogation tactic is not bound to get him anywhere fast, starts thinking of how he might adjust his strategy going forward.
Frowning in concern as though D'lyse's question about a relay station is one that will lead them into conversational territory that will be disquieting for the commander, not difficult when it is not far from the actual truth, Kenshin decides that the time has arrived to introduce a bit more stress in his captive without revealing that he is, in fact, a captive. "We have one, yes, but I'm afraid we aren't permitted to use it. Moving to the side of the bed and looking over his shoulder as though afraid he might be overheard, Kenshin speaks in a more hushed voice as he continues, This may come as a shock to you Commander, but you should probably know that Rendili has been occupied by the First Order. They have Civil Affairs troops here in the medcenter. You were brought here, he goes on after another look over his shoulder, by members of the security force from the StarDrives that managed to escape before the First Order achieved total control. The First Order doesn't know you were fighting in the StarDrives, yet. One more look over his shoulder and Kenshin says, I might be able to get a message to your Captain if you give me the details I'd need to do so."

His bodies heightened metabolistic rate was quickly burning through the drugs that were being pumped into his body by the I.V. drip and the constant pain from his arm kept his mind always in two places and he was having a difficult time focusing, but the moment Kenshin mentioned the First Order and the StarDrive a flood of memories returned to him. A grenade - of course... he had been securing the hanger as Altair and the rest of the team retreated to complete the mission. They didn't even know the First Order was going to be here, and when they exited hyperspace they found themselves in the middle of a battle and Altair had ordered the mission to continue, with a few minor alterations. D'lyse tilted his head searching for a window first before simply looking skyward. If Altair had been successful the StarDrives main computer systems would be mush by now, and he would be in possession of the entire StarDrive registry of ships - the first building block to his new fleet. He exhaled softly attempting to focus on the issue at hand. Kenshin looked - to him - to be just another one of the countless people oppressed by the regime of the First Order. And considering the circomstances of his capture it seemed quite unlikely that his story would have held up... if he was captured in battle he would have been moved to one of the Capital ships leading the assault, unless of course the battle hadn't completed - or he required more attention then the ships medics could provide... unlikely knowing the First Order.
"If what you say is true... that is no longer a possibility. I cannot risk compromising my Captain's mission. And if you are being genuine about them not knowing who I am... Kenshin... you mustn't speak with me anymore. Once they realize my role in all of this you could be in great danger."
D'lyse was probably not capable of anything close to a concerned expression, but the mask that suddenly dropped over his face was one of grave certainty. He was in great danger, and not only him, anyone around him. His capture would no doubt mean torture, and though he had been programmed and trained to resist all manner of influence it wouldn't matter in the end.
"Best thing you can do... is turn me over to the First Order, and hope they don't retaliate against this facility for harboring me. I'll take my chances with their interrogators..."

Kenshin shakes his head after D'lyse suggests the best play would be for him to turn the Commander over to the First Order, his expression one that both suggests reluctance and indicates his thoughts are churning with alternate ways to handle the situation. The reluctance is, naturally, feigned, subtle telepathic suggestion and the effects of his pheromones almost certainly, when coupled with his natural acting gifts, but Kenshin has no need to act as though his mind is racing to come up with other ways to proceed given that his telepathic ability has led him to believe that he has sensed D'lyse will not be compelled to reveal anything of value no matter how skillfully he himself continues to play the role of nurse.
D'lyse's concern for Kenshin's welfare seems genuine, and Kenshin believes that it might prove useful to bear that it mind, and to preserve the facade he has chosen for himself in the event either might come in handy even though he ultimately decides that the time has come to call in backup. The Knight of Ren that provided the intelligence for the operation to occupy Rendili is, by all accounts, an accomplished telepath. Perhaps she can succeed where he has failed, Kenshin thinks and so, with a final look over his shoulder, Kenshin tells D'lyse,"I won't turn you over, Commander. Screw the First Order, he spits with convincing venom, I'm going to try and find a way to get you out of here. Grinning in a successful attempt to seem as though his confidence and cheerfulness are now both forced, Kenshin says, Hang in there, and don't let anyone else know what you've told me."
Leaving the room, Kenshin finds the same doctor, still irritable and clearly not happy to be taking orders from Kenshin, he had spoken with earlier and asks that D'lyse be given enough painkillers and, if necessary, sedatives, to render him unconscious and then begins endeavoring to contact Katsumi Ren so that he can ask that she come to interrogate D'lyse, providing her with the scant information that he was able to learn from his own efforts.
As Kenshin waits to hear from the Knight of Ren, another nurse, neither as talkative or friendly as Kenshin, comes and administers a large dose of an intravenous narcotic painkiller, along with more mild doses of a sedative and ant-anxiety medication, to the commander after setting up a telemetry monitor and pulse oximeter to monitor his vital signs closely. After the painkiller and other drugs have taken effect, the nurse applies an inflatable cast to his shattered arm to prevent him from injuring it further with any unconscious movement.

Though she feels that there will be little of value to be learned from the captive First Order specialist Rah from Ops has asked that she come aid him in interrogating, Katsumi makes her way to the hospital where the captive is being held all the same. From what Rah has told her, and from what she knows of what occurred in the orbital shipyards, it seems perfectly clear to Katsumi that the captive was either a part of the Alliance counteroffensive tasked with protecting the shipyards or, in the event it became clear the First Order would succeed in capturing them, sabotaging them. The captive is of a rank making it improbable that he possesses any intelligence of great value to the First Order beyond confirming whether or not he was indeed a part of the Alliance counteroffensive or, instead, acting on orders from some third party as inconsequential to the First Order as the faltering Alliance itself.
More amusing to Katsumi is Rah's desire to persist in his charade, pretending to be a civilian nurse in an effort to use the captive's apparent concern for a noncombatant to sway him to give up whatever it is he might know of intelligence value. Katsumi, adept in the art of Drain Knowledge, could, and would prefer, to simply rip what she seeks despite her belief that there is little to gain from so doing from the captives mind given that it is improbable, if not impossible, that a non-Force sensitive could possess the means to resist the skilled application of Drain Knowledge where they might be willing to suffer or let others suffer to protect whatever secrets they possess that, petty and useless as Katsumi suspects they will prove to be, they feel are worth protecting no matter the cost.
Finding Rah after arriving at the hospital, Katsumi, as unconcerned with politeness as she is with appearances, as her filthy and tattered robes attest to, asks, "How far are you willing to go to sell your scenario, Specialist Rah? In case Rah is unable to follow her due to the abruptness of the question or a lack of wit, Katsumi explains, If you want your captive to believe you are truly in peril, I may need to go to some lengths to make it seem so, may I not?"

D'lyse had seen that look before - on the face of the men he took of Coruscant all those years ago. He got 22 of them off that planet but nearly a hundred more had died in the battle for their extraction. He saw that look on a childs face - no older than 15, and now that child led Gadriel's forces. That look - got people killed. He exhaled softly and attempted to move when Kenshin got up to leave but the pain in his arm made him stop. Whatever passed for drugs that they doped him with had worn off and the pain was slowly returning.
He exhaled shaking his head until the team came in to place the inflatable cast on his arm. He had been in the medbay many times and knew when to hold still and let them do their jobs. The cast would keep his arm from getting worse and the setting process beforehand wasn't as enjoyable and rebreaking bones was never something he enjoyed. As the narcotics took control of his body he slowly lost consciousness, he would deal with Kenshin when he woke up... if he woke up... suddenly, for reasons he couldn't explain as he was losing consciousness he grew very cold...
