Katsumi sets the stolen freighter down in a forest outside of Rendili's capital city, Edethor. Maybe she will return to the freighter, the 33 year old Knight of Ren thinks as she stands in the forest outside the ship, her tattered, dark robes moving silently in the wind as she closes her eyes and lets her awareness of all that is hers to know and sense if she bids it to be known or sensed; or maybe she will leave it in the forest to serve as a tomb for the smuggler she took the freighter from, now rotting away silently in the shadows of the cargo hold.
Removing her skull-like mask, her true face, Katsumi looks up at the night sky visible through a gap in the forest canopy overhead as she conceals her true face in the folds of her tattered robes, her long, black, unkempt hair hanging over her face and obscuring the beginnings of mottled veins visible on her pale skin, and the faint sulfuric yellow tinge in her brown eyes. Without her true face on, Katsumi is often mistaken for an indigent beggar, her tattered, unwashed robes and frequently disheveled appearance making the assumption an understandable one; and one that Katsumi knowingly exploits when it suits her purposes.
Walking unhurriedly away from the silent ship, Katsumi makes her way through the forest, bound for Edethor where she hopes to learn what her vision has led her here to see.

Not noticing the sepulchre-like stench of rot and decay that wafts from the interior of the VCX-100 light freighter, undisturbed since Katsumi had landed it in the forest outside of Edethor when she had first arrived on the planet, the Knight of Ren makes her way to the cockpit without a thought for the ship's former owner, left to decompose unmourned in the vessel's cargo hold after dying at her hand.
After sending an encrypted report to her superiors including a request that she be provided with a fleet to command for the invasion she proposes in light of what her intelligence gathering mission on Rendili had revealed, Katsumi had entered a meditative state while waiting for the reply. Smiling beneath the ebony hued, skull shaped mask which has become her true face when, after reading the encrypted reply to her report, she learns that her request has been granted, Katsumi reads through the dossier of, Admiral Sauer, the commander of the fleet which has been assigned to her command, and who has already been ordered to deploy to Agamar to await Katsumi's arrival.
Not long after Katsumi has completed her study of Sauer's dossier in preparation for working alongside the admiral, she pilots the stolen freighter from the forest, using the ship's sensors and her command of the Force to plot and fly along a course to orbit that enables her to avoid detection by the planet's orbital traffic controllers and any defense force patrols; leaving the world as undetected as she had arrived upon it.

Dain's decisions had taken him a great many places in his life, yet something always pulled him back here. Something subconsciously called him home and Rendili was his home. He'd been born here. He'd been raised here. Rendili had been where he had enlisted in the Army of the Galactic Alliance - or whatever variant of the former Galactic Republic that stood now. A former special forces member, Dain had a plethora of skills and experiences he'd been able to harness throughout his days.
On this day, Dain found himself once more at home - on Rendili - though outside the capital of Edethor. He was alone, rumbling through his thoughts and possible steps toward a future. There were several options, yet Dain was undecided.
He sat leisurely against a tree, his eyes shut as he listened to the nature around him. His fingers were intertwined and resting on his chest.

Smoke billowed outward from a window some forty plus stories up, its dark gray and black a stark contrast against the blue of the sky. Screams echoed through the air as people flung themselves desperately from the body, choosing a quick death over being burnt alive as a fire raged from within. A sudden explosion shook the ground, sending out tremors as though the area had been ripped into by a ground quake. Glass splintered and then shattered from another large construct as it too went up in flames. Horror and death overtook the scene as Dain looked onward. A woman, carrying an infant child, threw herself from a balcony more than fifty stories up in a feeble attempt to escape a most gruesome death.
Dain, now a Captain, had been sent here to quail the threat imposed by a group of terrorist, but his arrival had been too late. Several building had already fallen from their foundations being uprooted and now he watched helplessly as yet another two threatened to topple as well. The intelligence had been wrong and the group was far larger and more organized than had been originally foretold. He as his men had arrived on scene too few in number and ill equipped for what greeted them. They'd been slaughter in droves and now he was held captive - forced to observe his failure as the city smoldered and crumbled around him.
He screamed out as the emotional pain and frustration grew to an uncontrollable level . . .
Dain's eyes opened and his fists clinched violently as he shook the memory from his mind. It'd been his only failure in his career, but it had been more than enough to rattle him to his core. All the people that had believed in him to protect them as he was supposed - as he took an oath to do - saw their beliefs washed away in the blink of an eye. They had been forced into painful and traumatic deaths as their protector was forced to watch it happen from his knees without the slightest ability to stop it. He'd failed more than just himself that day and the toll was far to grand in scale for him to accept. That singular event practically broke the man as it would most any.

Skillfully matching her foe's movements, Katsumi turns with the woman to prevent the move to get behind her, and then plants her feet firmly while intercepting the strike for her shoulder with her lightsaber. Using the Force to add strength to her movements, Katsumi shoves her lightsaber mightily backwards to try and throw her foe off balance, their lightsabers keening, hissing and spitting sparks as they lock together.
After shoving her foe backwards, Katsumi dances a step backwards to separate their blades, immediately lunging forward with her lightsaber, held out extended forward on a horizontal angle and aimed for the woman's neck. The strike for her foe's neck a feint, Katsumi dips her arm as her blade nears its apparent target, her wrist tilting downward so that the humming red blade darts suddenly down towards the woman's upper thigh . . . Caught off guard by just how quickly her masked foe is able to move, Vashity staggers backwards, leaves crackling and twigs popping underfoot as the raggedy wraith-like robed woman mightily shoves their locked lightsaber blades towards Vashity. No sooner has Vashity begun to adjust her footing to a more stable stance than her opponent, continuing to move in a blur of continuous motion that has allowed her to capture the initiative, is attacking once more, forcing Vashity to go on the defensive.
Able to bring her arm up, wrist pivoting so that her lighsaber is shifted onto a horizontal angle, in time to block the blood hued lightsaber bound for her neck, Vashity feels a sinking sensation in her stomach when her foe's blade alters its course at the last moment. Instinct telling her that there is no time to block the blow, Vashity instead nimbly leaps to her right side to try and dodge it, the not so distant sounds of explosions and blaster fire coming from Edethor tauntingly near, reminding her that every moment spent fighting with her masked foe lessens her chances of reaching the capital in time to make a difference in the outcome of the battle being fought against the First Order.
Hissing as, her leap quick enough to prevent her though from being stabbed, her foe's lightsaber blade instead sears the flesh on the outside of her left leg, Vashity curses in frustration in her head as she tries to think of a way to regain the initiative. Shifting her weight onto her right leg after retreating a step backwards, Vashity tries to ignore both the pain in her leg and the less than encouraging Alliance comm chatter she can hear through her earbud as she quickly brings her lightsaber into a two-handed vertical guard position in front of her to prepare to meet the attack she anticipates her foe will have already launched . . .

Cargo truck on its way to an Imperial weapon facility (after occupation of the planet by the FO)
As the shipment was delivered properly from the Gozanti-cruiser towards the armoured cargo truck, the four Imperial security guards eventually went into the truck, as two of them guarded the carbonite blocks, they were tasked to protect within the load area, while the other two entered the cabin with the two seats in front of it. The truck itself was protected well enough in order to keep regular thugs away from it, although the First Order's logo on the sides of the car already did most of the job to keep the burglars away. The guards themselves were armed with SE-14r light repeating blasters and dressed within light armour, similiar to the one of a scout trooper armour, as they were solely doing a transport routine job. The two guards in the back of the transporter would occassionally wear the typical BlasTech E11-Blaster rifles, given that the First Order utilized more updated weapons within the military branch and the former Stormtrooper rifles were still useful to keep away most trouble on Imperial citizen worlds.
The truck would leave the city of Edethor eventually, making its way through a road, which would eventually lead out of the city. There, the truck would eventually leave the main road in order to change onto a smaller road, leading into a more foresty area of the planet, where the Imperial facility was located. So far the truck was the only vehicle on open terrain, surrounded solely by the solitude of the trees aside the road.

The path that had been selected for the armored vehicle off the remain road was not one of the more traveled routes, but it was good, considering this was a relatively low risk assignment, that they were not exactly piloting a Juggernaut, and they would eventually need to transfer the cargo onto a Railcrawler that carried other reasources for the factory once they reached the facility anyhow for the ascension into the mountains where the factory proper was located. Beside the road, just out of the field of view of the armored carrier, waited Roark and a few of his crew. They were tucked away out of sight for when the fast moving transport vehicle would pass by them into their trap. He wanted to steal the gas here rather than when it was loaded aboard the massive train, as the guard presence here was minimal but the sheer size of the train dictated that it needed guarding. The group had rigged up a series of small traps along the road designed to get the tank to stop, taking advantage of the inherent instability of the tank. The trap in question consisted of a relatively high concentration of fragmentation mines placed on one side of the road, in an attempt to unbalance the vehicle. The crewmen were in the treetops, rifles trained on the road, while Roark and another Ranger stood on the ground, prepared to immediately move into the road. As he stood there, he hoped to himself; “This will definitely work, this will absolutely work, there is no way this could fail. He quieted his mind and drew his blasters as he heard the telltale humming of repulsorlifts approaching...

Cargo truck on its way to an Imperial weapon facility (after occupation of the planet by the FO)
The truck would eventually pass the area after a while, the driver being so far unaware of what was to come. Eventually the wheels of the truck came in contact with the mines, suddenly making the entire vehicle shake, before it actually stopped. More than alarmed the driver tried to turn the key again, although it barely seemed to work. As he realized that some of the cables were broke, he immidiately looked for a repair kit, as damage was caused around some of the cables during the detonation. Being slightly damaged, the truck stood now there within the middle of the open road, while alerted sounds could be heard. The co-driver yelled something, through the vehicle, probably warning his heavier-armed security friend, that something was more than terribly wrong. Nontheless the Imperials were worried about what was next to come - nobody would have ever imagined that someone would be bold enough to not only attack them on one of the best secured Imperial worlds at the border of the core worlds, but neither that they would be successful in keeping their truck on hold for a brief ammount of time.

The snipers atop the trees immedeately opened fire upon the guards. While the shots did find their mark, the civilian grade blasters were unable to penetrate the armor of the security forces. They had been unable to secure their weapons before attacking the transport. . Roark ran out onto the road, very quickly closing the distance between him and the vehicle. By this point, the guards had realized what was happening and had taken cover behind the armored transport, taking shots at the pirates. They understood how this was going to play out. The soldiers would most likely tank the shots, waiting for the driver to repair the damage, before setting off again. Roark fired a few shots off in the general direction of the driver. They wouldn't do much, but would at least surprise them. One of the guards was killed by concentrated fire before the others hid behind the truck, trying to prevent being hit by the snipers.

More than panicing the driver continiued by doing his job, while the co-driver already had fallen, as a lucky bullet managed to shatter the bulletproof glass on his side. The other guardsmen already had realized the situation and began to fire under the cover of the truck's backside at the locations where they presumed the criminals, who murdered their partner. Eventually one of them actually tried to make contact over ComLink with the Imperial Military, yet realizing that he wasn't able to connect due to signal difficulties. ::Here speaks Imperial Security HJ-A33, we're getting ambushed in the woods, Edethor, planetary sector U34! Can you hear me! Base to HJ-A33, we're 4 men, 1 already down! We need reinforcements!:: , was all the pirates could hear, as the security man became slightly nervous. On the front the howling of the motor could be heard again, as the driver tried his best to get the cables fixed, yet his efforts seemed to fail as the damage was far greater than he had imagined at first. After a while he would as well grab his pistol, when realizing that he and his comrades would eventually die against the attackers.

As laser fire erupted around him, Locke ran behind a tree, narrowly dodging a stream of laser fire eminating from the barrel of the SE-14 light repeater. Cursing under his breath, he swung out, putting several shots into one of the guards. The heavy blaster rounds tore through the guard’s body, killing him in seconds. They new reinforcements would be coming soon, so they had to act quickly. He moved behind a cluster of bushes, aligning himself with the cab of the vehicle. Lining up his blasters, he put 12 shots into the small space, which should have killed the driver. By this point, the guards were moving away from the vehicle and behind some trees, only briefly poking out to fire at the pirates. The snipers kept up their fire, intending to pin the guards down, while Roark and the other ranger began moving towards the truck, making for the storage container containing the carbonite slabs.

During the First Order Invasion of Rendili . . .Hissing as, her leap quick enough to prevent her though from being stabbed, her foe's lightsaber blade instead sears the flesh on the outside of her left leg, Vashity curses in frustration in her head as she tries to think of a way to regain the initiative. A predatory smile surfaces on her face beneath her skull-like mask as Katsumi sees the pain etched on Vashity's face when she is wounded, drinking in the sight of the Jedi's pain and distress so that she can add it to the heady combination of fear and dread emanating from Edethor as the battle to seize the capital rages on somewhere in the distance ahead, fuel to the fire blazing inside of Katsumi.
Resisting the animalistic urge to continue her assault on the Jedi strictly in the physical realm, Katsumi instead does so in another, ideally unexpected, fashion; holding her lightsaber out in front of her and pointed in challenge at the level of the Jedi's neck as she calls the Force to heel and then sends it out like an invisible poison dart or vapor cloud aimed at Vashity's mind, using her knowledge of the Force Affliction technique to try and debilitate or outright kill Vashity, who should feel as though infected by a toxin that quickly slows her mind and reflexes.
Circling to Vashity's left, edging closer and closer to her all the while, Katsumi watches the Jedi intently for any signs that she has been afflicted by the mental attack, ready to stike the moment she sees Vashity's concentration lapse . . .

The security guards eventually withdrew from the car in order to get done with the snipers, keeping their eyes out on the surrounding area, while aiming roughly into the direction from where the shots came. Not realizing that Roark had taken out the driver, they continiued to cover the area with blaster shots, normaly deadly for a regular citizen or unarmoured foe, as they still underestimated their enemy.
The cargo itself was roughly secured. Five carbonite blocks were stapled atop each other, each of it being equipped with the necessary means to transport it in the way of a hovercraft. It was quite obvious that the truck itself had no further security measures other than its durable armour. If the truck wouldn't have gotten stuck, it was obvious that it would have continiued driving, as the Imperials didn't expect that a regular thug would overcome two E11-rifles and a well-armoured vehicle, which would require several explosives to crack it up. Roark also realized that he was lucky that the Imperials kept the door to the truck open - the backdoor, leading into it, could easily be locked and probably also withstand most kinds of explosives.

First Order Occupation of RendiliTwo two-man Biker Scout teams are sent out with orders from Vreni to covertly follow the retreatng Alliance forces, their instructions to contact the Kunigunde if and when the location of the Alliance rallying point is found so that an orbital strike can, Vreni hopes, teach the Alliance the price to be paid for daring to oppose the First Order. Arduino, accompanying the Alliance squad acting as the rearguard of the remnants of the tank company that failed to break through the First Order's left flank, lowers his electrobinoculars and closes his eyes, rubbing his left temple. As he rubs his temple Arduino has a brief, cryptic vision of green rain falling down upon a large gathering of Alliance troopers and vehicles that disintegrate in the downpour.
Opening his eyes, Arduino shakes his head to clear it, frowning as he wonders whether the images he had seen were a forewarning from the Force of a preventable danger. "Could be a bit less vague, love," Arduino mutters, addressing the Force as though It might be moved by his complaint to clarify how it is he might be able to prevent what he had seen were it a warning.
"Huh?" the young Alliance rifleman fireteam leader nearest to Arduino asks after hearing the Jedi muttering, lowering his DLT-20A blaster rifle from his shoulder and rubbing sweat from his brow with an elbow.
"Nothing, Arduino replies absently, feeling a nagging pull to move to another position further to the northeast that he decides not to ignore on the off chance that it is the Force doing the nagging. Motioning towards the northeast, Arduino suggests, I think we should head that way, see what there is to see."
Looking skeptical, the trooper almost asks why Arduino feels a change in their position is necessary when the vantage point their current position offers is a good one, but ultimately decides to follow the Jedi's instinct. Moments later the Alliance troopers and Arduino are heading towards the northeast.

As the officers died vain in battle, they could be briefly heard over Intercom for a short ammount of time, thus alerting eventually the nearby train station under controll of the First Order. Although nothing of important information could be heard, it was enough to trouble the local authorities.
Around ten minutes later a local patrol of Imperial Scouttroopers would arrive at the destination of the truck, as the train station had sent them in search for the security guards, which were supposed to arrive there with the requested Tibanna gas. As their speeders came to a halt, one of the troopers already informed the rest of his comrades via Comlink. ::Patrol Rendili-Delta-43 speaking, we have discovered the remains of the security truck::, the man reported as he halted, jumping from his speeder bike in order to investigate the crime scene, ::Noone is to be seen in the driver cabin, truck on open road. However they blew some holes in the front. Driver and co-driver might be dead.:: Making his way for the cabin, the Scout trooper of the First order carefully checked the ground, while looking around nervously, holding his weapon ready. In the years of his military training the man had learned that this kind of robbery wasn't a mere incident. This has been planned and whoever was behind it might still be here. Already fearing for the worst, he noticed slight fissures within the ground. ::Something heavy has left markings in the ground, most likely a vehicle - presuming they used it for their escape. No trails leading away from this position indicates it must be aircraft.:: As he came near the car, the officer took a brief look towards the demolished front of the truck, before he opened the driver's cabin - just to see his concerns proven. ::Two security officers found dead in the driver's cabin, front of the truck damaged. The driver attempted to repair it, while taking a deadly shot, same goes for the co-driver. Heavy ammunition was utilized to breach the glass front. They utilized explosives, according to the damage something like thermal detonators or mines to stop the car. The security men survived the explosion due to the fortifications of the truck, however they were surprised by men, who were equipped to breach through their defenses.:: Moving then further, still under the watch of another scout trooper in the back, the trooper continiued with his protocol, reaching now the back of the truck, where he witnessed the horrific fate of the other two security men. ::By the Emperor! - uhm... I apologize, that's just... back to protocoll: The other two officers are dead as well, one wearing his comlink. They had apparently interferences as their call for aid never reached the station. Both men died by serious injuries to their heads, most likely caused by a blade weapon. No lightsaber cuts though - these wounds show bare flesh and blood. Assuming that either a bountyhunter or an expierienced criminal did this. Checking now the loading area, fearing for the worst.::
Just a few moments later a panicing scream could be heard by the Scouttrooper's comrade, as the mines, placed within the truck detonated, blasting off the remnants of the truck from the inside like a bloated balloon. The detonation nearly even reached the second scout bike, causing the driver to panic at first, as he was neither prepared for the explosion. Once it was over and no sight of the investigating trooper was seen, the Scouttrooper activated his own Comlink in order to continiue the protocol with a bitter voice. ::Patrol Rendili-Delta-43 lost a scout trooper during investigations when he tried to investigate the loading area. They turned the truck into a trap, having set off explosions. The Carbonite containers have been stolen most likely, although further examinations need to proof it. Inform the space patrols immidiately as they might still be in orbit or on the planet. Whoever did this was either a maniac or a professional. Protocol over. ::
The protocol was briefly sent within shortest time towards most ships in the orbit of Rendili, along them the Wisp, who was just on its way to leave the system.

Occupation of RendiliArduino, accompanying the Alliance squad acting as the rearguard of the remnants of the tank company that failed to break through the First Order's left flank, lowers his electrobinoculars and closes his eyes, rubbing his left temple. . . Moments later the Alliance troopers and Arduino are heading towards the northeast. First Order Specialist Odilia Yilmaz, after tracking the movements of a small group of Alliance troopers most likely assigned the task of deterring any pursuit, rests the stock of her E-11s long range blaster on the ground beside her 74-Z speeder bike as the first fat droplets of rain begin to fall. Turning to her fellow Scout troopers, she says, We'll follow on foot from here, not wanting to risk the sound of their bikes warning the Alliance troopers they have been trailing of their presence.
The rain has become a steady downpour by the time Odilia and the other Scout troopers are stealthily creeping closer to the Alliance forces, having sent two R-4 recon droids ahead of them in an attempt to avoid the decreased visibility leading them to losing or overtaking the enemy troops they hope to follow all the way to the rallying point the Alliance forces have selected to try and withdraw from Rendili.

During the First Order Invasion of Rendili . . .Circling to Vashity's left, edging closer and closer to her all the while, Katsumi watches the Jedi intently for any signs that she has been afflicted by the mental attack, ready to stike the moment she sees Vashity's concentration lapse . . . Jyotish, bent low over the maneuver controls of his speeder bike as the torrential rainfall lashes his face as he speeds over the wildly undulating tall grass of the plain their search for Vashity has led them to, points towards the red and blue glowing lightsabers that he has spotted ahead in the distance as he calls out loudly, "There!"
Berdine, drenched and shivering, forgets about the chill that has begun to seep into her and her exhaustion as she nods, her left foot pressing down on the altitude control pedal to bring her speeder bike up over a small hill. Increasing her speed to match Jyotish's headlong rush to where the tiny figures of Vashity and her opponent can be seen, Berdine grinds her jaw as she watches Vashity, having been wounded in the leg, back away from the dark robed and masked figure.
Breaking to the left as Jyotish breaks right, Berdine opens fire on Vashity's opponent with the speeder bike's cannon, aiming for the robed figure's torso. Jyotish banks his speeder bike, slowing enough to try and fire on the Knight of Ren's side when she is in his sights, hoping that the either his fire or Berdine's will, if not eliminate the Knight of Ren, prevent her from renewing her attack on Vashity . . .

During the First Order Invasion of Rendili . . .
Not so intent on watching Vashity that she fails to see and hear the approach of the speeder bikes that begin firing towards her, Katsumi lifts her free hand and, eyes behind the deep black eye sockets of her mask on Vashity, waves it in a sweeping motion to telekinetically move the Jedi into the path of the cannon fire coming from the female speeder bike rider. Turning to the side and raising her lightsaber in front of her on a horizontal angle, Katsumi blocks the cannon fire the Weequay rider aims at her side, trying with little success to send some of it back towards the rider as he passes by, most of the laser bolts sent into the ground or air instead of back at the Weequay.
Bringing her lightsaber onto a vertical angle, Katsumi circles to try and track the Jedi on the speeder bikes to remain facing them, remaining mindful of Vashity as well whether or not her attempt to use the cannon fire meant for her to attack the Jedi was successful. . .
