*Korra couldn't help but cringe some at Cassandras comment about her and her father. She then turned back to Ander at his mention of meeting the other force users.* "Alright." *She began to follow after Ander before giving a low chuckle* "I guess I'm finding out a lot of new things lately. First I still have family. Now I might be force sensitive. Kind of surprising actually."
Ander pursed his lips knowingly as the pair took leave of the medical center and turned toward the wide ivory colored staircase that would take them to the commando's quarters one level below. "I was surprised to discover my own latent abilities as well. I remember the day, just after Luke Skywalker and his strike team destroyed Grand Admiral Thrawn's storehouse in Mount Tantiss on Wayland." Ander said, dredging the experiences of years long passed from the recesses of his memory. "I met the man as he returned to the hangar bay of our ship after the mission ended, and sensed the Force in me. Some time later he invited me to Yavin Four, to study with the other individual's he had collected for training as the new class of Jedi." Ander led Korra down the curving staircase, passing off-duty commandos wearing civilian attire and ship personnel. "It was a bizarre experience, learning what I was capable of, though those days have passed."He said no more on the topic, for the time being, leading his new-found daughter through the corridors of the quarters deck, passing living recreation areas that branched odd of the main passageway. At the forward area of the level were the quarters that housed those commandos and personnel assigned to Force Sensitive training under Jakob Mevrain, a man Ander had met on Yavin IV some months prior. He was not surprised to see the man was missing, though his students remained behind. Ander knocked on the door frame as he passed through into a large chamber littered with training apparatuses and devices. The occupants stirred from their conversations and activities, turning their attention to the two new arrivals. One of them, a female Barabel, hissed at Ander in greeting."Lord Commander, this one is surprised to see you here, and did not sense your approach." Ander smiled, returning the Barabel's greeting. He waited a moment for the others to gather around, drawn away from their stations and tables. Among them, many species were represented, and as many genders, though their number was no more than twenty. "Everyone, this is Korra Sekel, my daughter. Given that she adopted my Force Sensitivity, she'll be training with the rest of you." Yoran Hasa'an, a male Togruta, dipped his head in salutation, his lekku shifting downward as he did so. Hasa'an's body colorings were similar to that of GALSAF's banners. His skin was deep maroon, his lekku grey stripes on white, and his montrals white stripes on the same deep maroon. The man often said his markings and colorings had been a sign that his service with the organization was destined, and his duty therein lay with the people of the Galaxy. Ander said nothing to dissuade the man's thinking, Yoran's devotion to the organization's work was unparalleled."You'll be provided permanent quarters here, with the rest of our Tythan Operatives, after we've confirmed your Sensitivity." Ander told Korra. He himself had been a quick learner in the ways of the Jedi, though Ander's own Force Sensitivity, while strong, had not been abnormally so. He expected Korra to share his level of capability, though until she was tested he would have no true gauge on just how strong her connection to the Force might be.

*Korra followed Ander down the hallway into the commando quarters. She felt slightly nervous at the sight of all the force users in the group. Large crowds of new people always put her on edge. The fact that her father trusted them put her at a little more at ease. Giving them a slight bow and spoke almost nervously.* "Thank you. I'm not really sure exactly what to expect. But I'll try my best."

The Barabel hissed laughter at Korra's comment, her reptilian eyes clicking quietly as they closed and reopened. "This one has vetted three broods of hatchlings. You will never know what to expect." Ander smiled knowingly at the Barabel's words. Hasska was still a hatchling herself in a way though she had offspring of her own; Hasska's female sire served as one of 1st IBCT's Captains. Suddenly Ander wondered if the Barabel wouldn't serve as a decent instructor for Korra, and Yoran as well. He decided they might work best together as a team. Hasska, Yoran, I'd like you to take Korra under your proverbial wings for instruction. With Mevrain so often gone I know much of your training is left in your own hands." The Togruta was the first to respond, doing so with a slight bow. Ever humble, the Togruta was, Ander thought. "Of course, Lord Commander. Has she yet been tested for potency?" Ander shook his head. "I'm afraid not. And as you know, I am no longer capable of doing so myself." The Togruta nodded. Ander had not kept the loss of his connection to the Force a secret from his commandos, though within the organization, the knowledge was tightly kept. Were any of GALSAF's adversaries to learn about the organization leader's loss of abilities, it might be taken for weakness and bring conflict upon them. Ander looked to Korra after a moment. "Get settled, I won't be long gone, but there are matters I have to attend to. After Yoran and Hasska have run their initial tests, I'll take you through some rudimentary training of my own design."

*Korra gave a nod as Ander told her to get settled. It was then she realized that she hadn't brought anything with her except the armor she wore and the clothes under it. She wasn't going to worry about that now though. Her attention fell on these tests that were being planned for her.* "So. What are these tests exactly?"

Ander took his leave as Korra asked the two commandos about the tests. He would be gone when she next looked back, though never too far away or for too long, if he could help it. Calo already spent far too much time away from his father, or so Ander believed. People would always need guidance, even children grown. As Hasska watched her Commander disappear in silence out of the corner of her eye, Yoran addressed Korra's question. "It's a simple one, really. We'll open ourselves to the Force and attempt to make contact with your mind through it. The potency of your connection to the Force can be roughly estimated by the amount of push back we receive. The brain of most sentient beings has built in defense mechanisms, and those with Force potential have their own against extraneous mental contact. When we attempt to reach your mind, we should feel resistance, sometimes even outright force. Your mind's attempt to keep us out. Later in your training, you'll learn to harness that latent ability and use it to hide yourself from others, or protect your mind from meddling." The Togruta took several steps backwards, towards the center of the large chamber, where there was more open space available. He laced his fingers together and left them to rest against his waist. "Step forward and try to relax your mind. Clear your thoughts. Better yet, find some pleasant, gentle memory to lose yourself in. Distract your mind, while I attempt to contact you."

*Korra was a little hesitant about this. Someone digging around in her mind wasn't exactly something she was found of. She knew though that this needed to be done. Letting out a slow breath, she took several steps forward. Closing her eyes, she thought back to a time where she felt peaceful. Her memory took her back to when she was fifteen. She remembered laying on her back in the shade of a tree. The grass beneath her was soft and the air around her was warm. This was one of the few times she ever got to leave the massive city planet of Coruscant with her mother. She hadn't done anything truly significant that day. But it made her feel happy, it gave her a sense of freedom.*

Korra stepped forward, the last thing she saw being Yoran smiling politely at her. He was a man of propriety, to be sure. As Korra began centering her thoughts around some unknown memory, the Togruta nodded to Hasska, who placed herself beside him. Together they opened themselves to the Force, letting it flood their individual consciousnesses, mixing between them until it formed a bridge that joined their minds together. Their minds rose from the crashing waves of the Force like a land bridge bursting forth from the depths of an ocean. Their view was no longer one of the eyes, but one of the mind, and instead of seeing the physical forms of those in the chamber, they saw only their bright, glowing presences in the Force. Swiftly, the two commandos focused their attentions on one particularly shining mind: Korra. Their mental sight narrowed, tunneling in towards her with a gentle determination. Together they poured themselves into her mind, and while the response was not overwhelming, it was certainly a surprise. The Barabel hissed painfully, and Yoran was forced backwards several steps, reeling in his own mental pain. The pair did not so much withdraw from Korra's mind as they were forced from its boundaries, the mental bridge between them shattered and torn asunder. Yoran pressed his hands to his temples, hoping to stem the flash of pain that wracked his mind. Hasska snarled angrily, her tail thrashing back and forth and slamming against the chamber floor with a crash. Korra's mental response had been swift and precise, as if she had known exactly how to extract the intrusion upon her consciousness. After a moment, the two commandos regained their composure, though Yoran's headtails twitched rapidly, his montrals throbbing. Hasska gnashed her teeth, sissing laughter. "Thisss one is sssertainly her father'sss daughter." The Barabel said in a harsh tone. Yoran shook the pain from his head, chuckling at his companion's words. "Indeed, my friend, she is." He stepped forward once more and offered Korra a slight bow. His lips were drawn back in a smile exposing sharp, carnivorous teeth. "You certainly do have the gift, Korra, and we look forward to helping you maximize your potential."

*As Korras mind drifted in her memories, she felt something prod at her mind. Almost instinctively she pushed back without even knowing what she was doing. Opening her eyes, she felt herself blush some.* "I..I'm not even sure what I did. But..I felt something." *She felt both excited and nervous at the same time to hear that they'd train her.* "I'm willing to bet that it only gets harder from here."

Given Hasska's relative anatomical struggle with Galactic Basic, Yoran volunteered his own thoughts in reply to Korra's question. He shrugged noncommittally. "You can say that it grows more difficult, but I prefer not to think of such obstacles in terms of their ability to defeat me. Instead, embrace every opportunity you have to learn, even if grasping certain concepts takes more time than others." He smiled, exposing opposing rows of sharp teeth. "Judging the difficulty of a task is only another way of reminding yourself how easily it might defeat you. With the Force, nearly anything is possible, if you know the way to go about it." The Togruta straightened the tunic he wore, clasping his hands together at his waist. "The first things you must learn are how to control the level of openness you have with the Force. Like the aperture of the eye, the iris, you must learn how to open and close this connection, and therefore determine the strength of the relationship between you and the Force that you wield. This applies to all Force-based abilities. Those that control telekinesis, sensory powers, and augmentations of your strength, endurance, speed, and focus. When you choose the level of openness you have with the Force, you essentially determine the amount of influence you exhibit on your environment, those around you, and your own body and mind. These are crucial concepts, fundamental to all Force abilities." The Barabel nodded, her tail flicking gently back and forth behind her as Yoran spoke. "Once you have massstered this, you will learn how to apply your control and augment your variouss other skillsss as a commando. Weaponsss, physical training, diplomasssee, these are important skillsss critical to our forcesss. You will learn them concurrently with your commando training, from Yoran and thisss one."

*Korra gave a nod at the mans response.* "Well it's a good thing I like to learn. From what I've been through in life, learning means surviving. I've kinda gotten good at it." *Her mind then fell on a different thought.* "Are all force sensitive commandos put into special squads? Or are we just inserted into different groups to try and even it out?"

Yoran stepped forward, holding a hand casually out towards Hasska as Korra voiced her question. "I'll field this one, Hasska. Korra, your question may seem unrelated to what I'm about to share with you, but it reminds me of something else that needs to be made clear." He said gently. The expression on his face made it clear this was a more sensitive issue. Yoran smiled as pleasantly as he could, though he was unable to hide his nervousness entirely. He looked around the chamber, gesturing to everything around them with open hands, and addressed Korra's question first. "Our sensitives train together, but also with their respective units. That way our skills are best honed for the missions we take on."[/span] The Togruta brought his hands together, wringing them anxiously. "What we have built here is...precariously balanced. We are never far from falling, always looking over the edge of the cliff. The nature of our organization puts us in this awkward position, Korra." He knew she was not like to understand, but he hoped his explanation provided enough clarity. "As you know, GALSAF is an amalgam of different species and cultures, each commando bringing to the table something different, something new. Unfortunately, this is a double-edged sword. It gives us strength; our diversity gives us a larger pool of resources. But it also means that when the Galaxy begins to tilt one way or another, some of us are drawn apart. We are commandos, yes, but we are also individuals, many of us with lives outside of this organization. We renounce no ties, but strive to place our service ahead of our personal loyalties. To many we are friends, but to some we are enemies. There are people who do not like what we do, and their reasons for their disdain are unfounded. Others however, have legitimate grievances, due to recent regrettable decisions made by your own father. Some of these people lead governments far from our reach, and others come from within our ranks. This puts our organization in a dangerous position, and that you must always keep in mind. The people come first, not your comrades, not your leaders, and especially not yourself. We are gears in a machine, serving a purpose. I can't stress the importance of this, Korra. Your training will unlock a great many doors for you, but you must always choose wisely which ones to enter, and which ones to leave sealed. You will not be trained to become a Jedi, and in all likeliness, the Order would look down on you for your affiliations with us. What they think may not matter when we wake up in the morning, but the reason we do what we do is that we know that at the end of the day, people like that have the power, not the people they serve. That is why we must be so cautious, and tread so carefully. The common being of this Galaxy, whom we are sworn to serve, can be turned against us by those who lead them faster than you can blink." "Thisss one believesss you are paranoid." The Barabel snorted, her muscled arms crossed over her chest. "You wasste time talking when sshe could be learning. You cannot hone a blade by talking at it, only by putting it to a ssstone." Yoran frowned, but nodded. "You are right, Hasska. I do tend to walk into deep waters needlessly." His frown turned into a vague smile, and he begged Korra's forgiveness with a slight bow. "There are more pressing matters to address, we must get your quarters with us settled, and you need to meet the men and women with whom you'll be serving during general operations."

*Korra listened to what Yoran said. The information seemed to overwhelm her at first, leaving her with little in a way to respond. Instead she just gave a small nod and stumbled over her next words.* "That's...a lot to think about." *She then turned her attention to Hasska.* "Right, my stuff. I really only have what I'm wearing actually. Then rest of it was left behind in the bunker." *A thought then crossed her mind. These two had served with her father for some time. Maybe they knew the answers to some of the questions buzzing around in her head.*

Yoran shook his head. "That's perfectly alright. It's best now that you simply remain focused. Understanding will come." The Barabel hissed as Korra replied to her. "Then we will sssee to it that your misssing equipment is replasssed, and you are properly outfitted." Hasska unlocked her datapad and began sifting through a series of files stored on the device. While she searched for a complete list of issued equipment, Yoran picked up on the slight sense of wonder Korra was emitting. "Something on your mind?" He asked politely.

*Korra bit her lower lip when Yoran asked her what was wrong. She should have known that he could probably sense her feelings.* "It's nothing really. I just..." *She paused for a moment, not sure what exactly to say.* "I don't even know the man. My mother only mentioned a name, once. And now...this." *She lifted her arms and gestured to what was around her before letting them drop to her side.* "You probably know far more about him and his past then I do. I'm just trying to let this all sink in." *She paused for a moment before speaking again.* "What was he like? I mean, before all this."

Yoran frowned as Korra spoke on her feelings and asked her question. "I did not know your father well, before all this..." He shook his head apologetically. "And I do not rely on what I've been told by others." The Togruta did look as if he were sorry, but Hasska stepped forward. "Thisss one knowssssomeone who did." The Barabel glanced at Yoran, signaling that she would take over from that moment. "Follow me, hatchling...we go to sssee the Admiral." Hasska walked passed Korra and towards the door, her clawed feet clacking quietly against the deck.

*Korra didn't blame Yoran for not knowing, but he did raise her curiosity at the mention of rumors. Deciding to ask about those later, she caught up with Hasska.* "Who is this Admiral? Has he known Ander for a long time?"

Hasska nodded, hissing slightly as Korra followed her down the corridor. "Admiral Ssstaton hasss been Admiral to our forcesssince before Tagira left the Jedi of Yavin. He wasss of the Galactic Alliance before that, the Empire before that, and the Old Republic before that. If anyone among usss can asssnwer your questionsss, it will be him. Though perhapsss his outlook will not be ssso posssitive."

*Korra followed after Hasska, listening to what she said. She bit her lower lip as the Jedi explained what the man she was going to meet was like. From what she said, he might not have that great of news.* "So..he was on Yavin. Was he a Jedi?"

"Nooo, child." Hasska shook her head. "He was a man of the Empire once, and of the Old Republic before that." The trip to the command bridge wouldn't take long, and the Admiral was rarely too busy for friendly meetings with new arrivals.
