This room is a large, spacious dining area for the RDMC staff, and patients. Long and short tables, with chairs, dot most of the floor space and the room is capable of seating hundreds of people at a time. The room can also be divided up into smaller rooms with the aid of portable (removable) walls, though in one corner of the room there is a permanent, private dining room for staff and/or patients who wish for a little more privacy.
At one end of the room is a spacious kitchen area where all kinds of tasty food is prepared and then placed out on hot serving tables, buffet style. Service/med droids and/or other medical staff take food to the patients rooms, for patients who are bedridden or otherwise incapable of making it to the cafeteria to eat.

Fire most definitely did not plan on staying for so long that she becomes a fixture at the RDMC, but unfortunately, that is exactly what she becomes. The prolonged months being here, staying close has caused many people to learn that while seemingly insane and out-of-this-world, Fire really is a softy at heart. And somehow, word has gotten out of the young woman's involvement with an orphanage where most of her wealth and loot goes to. Which earned her favour with the staff, but that isn't exactly what she wants or needs: to be known and admired. It's certainly detrimental to her reputation as the fearsome and dreaded pirate Fire Matango.
And what is she doing now? Volunteering at the cafeteria, cooking stew. Gizka stew. Yummy. She sighs and stirs the pot, letting the contents simmer and flavour. Truthfully, she's not putting any effort into it. She is not interested in making herself more popular with the staff of the RDMC. So oftentimes, she deliberately does less than stellar work wherever she's needed, but nothing subpar to the point she's causing problems. She just takes longer than usual or necessary, and sometimes makes tiny mistakes. All in the effort to reduce her popularity or renown in a positive light. Why one asks? Well, if word of this reached that mangy git, Borias, thief of her beloved Fiery Pearl, well it won't do much, but it's likely she'll never win the hearts of her crew ever again. And she'll be the laughing stock of the criminal galaxy.
No that certainly won't do. So that's why this stew is at least five minutes late now in being ready. Hungry patients and staff are going to be a little bit hungrier for a longer time. They say never mess with a hungry person, but frankly, Fire could care less...okay that's a lie, her compassion's getting the better of her, because suddenly, the stew's ready. Blinking, the woman signals the servers and the stew is brought out, leaving the woman to sigh and take off her hat. Oh yes, the hat. No one can get her to remove that thing no matter what. Not even under threat, and bath times are a nightmare. Apparently the young woman has it in her that bathing once a week at least is insane, but the stronger and larger staff have to always hunt her down (following the smell) and wrestle/carry her to the nearest tub. Needless to say, it is an unpleasant experience for all involved. Staff members have taken to drawing straws on who gets to bathe the woman, because usually the unfortunate staff require a visit to the Bacta Tanks.
Guess what day today is? Fire's weekly dousing. She's determined not to have a bath, and by thunder, no one's gonna make her! Not today! Not if her name's Fire Matango!

Not if her name's Fire Matango! *Since Meony was protected, Spectre decided to get something to eat. He couldn't stave off his hunger anymore, so he left to grab a quick bite. He carried his Buy'ce under his arm as he walked into the cafe. He took a look around with his amber colored eyes to survey his surroundings. He finally gazes at the crazy complexity that was known by the name of Fire Matango. She was alluring, oddly enough. Which shouldn't catch anyone by surprise, Spectre was nuts anyways. All the alarm bells go off in his head, but he goes to chat up the crazy pirate lady who refused to bathe. Ironically enough, it had been since Panthora since Spectre bathed, so this conversation was about to take on an unusual putrescence. *
"Hello there cyar'ika*. Got anything good to eat?"
*That had to have been the cheesiest pick up line in the history of cheese and pick-ups.*
(* Sweetheart)

Fire lifts up her head from her supporting palm, glancing over at the Mandalorian. She immediately replaces the pirate captain’s hat over her head, and arches an eyebrow at his first choice of words. She begins gesturing intricately with her hands and fingers as she speaks, “Curious notion, mate, to wonder if there’s anything good to eat, let alone sweet.”
She easily hops the table that stands between herself and the Mandalorian to walk past him before wheeling around. “This being a hospital...” she encompasses the location with both hands outstretched, “...the perfection of taste is often the least focused upon. Now what say you just have yourself a seat, and I’ll see about the what-nots of a fried gizka might do for your taste buds, savvy?”

Even with the seriousness of Meoany not a few feet away, this beautiful young woman managed to get a amnesiac executioner to laugh. She was truly awesome.*
I think I will have a seat if you'll join me? Tell me, how did someone like you end up doing this? You seem a bit lively for such a doldrum job like this.

Her jaw works from side to side, with her back still turned to him, though Spectre would be able to make out her somewhat troubled stance and see the side of her face a little as she mulls over the choice of just doing her job and ignoring him or taking a complete risk and do something utterly foolish.
This isn’t the first time that Fire would be called a fool of a woman.
Whipping about, she narrowly avoids directly crashing into Spectre, though it was doubtless that she would have been more hurt than he if she does collide into his armoured figure. However, she doesn’t slow down from the near-accident, but instead swerves around him like a drunken pedestrian and flips a clean bowl into one hand, and with a fancy chef’s stunt, splashes the contents from the cauldron into the bowl, all without spilling a single drop. She turns around to look at Spectre, and it appears as if Fire’s eyes are living up to her name. The glow disappears as quickly as it came, leaving her eyes a natural hazel shade. Smiling politely, she places the bowl on a table in front of Spectre, nodding her head at it.
“I’m hardly lively if you call this a form of living, mate.” She says whilst simultaneously kicking out the chair across from Spectre, and slipping comfortably into it by just falling backwards, somehow supremely confident that the chair would be precisely there to catch her. She disregards the whispering going on not too far away between two kitchen staff, who are not-so-discreetly watching Fire and Spectre. Crossing one leg over a knee and sitting like a gentleman rather than a lady, she says, “Fire Matango, sister of the esteemed Adieumus Matango, and non-blood relation of Ice Matango. Now, then…” she gestures to Spectre.
“What brings a Mandalorian to a place with a Jedi Temple and a hospital full of Force-Sensitives neighbouring each other?”

Jena and Jake walked down the hallway from the reception area to the cafeteria with Jena introducing him to a few of the doctors and nurses they met along the way. When they entered the spacious dining area of the cafeteria, Jena led him over to a buffet style line along one of the walls of the room. The food was laid out in numerous large holding trays designed to keep the hot food hot and the cold food cold. There was even a salad bar a few feet away from the buffet line with various types of vegetables, fruits, and salad dressings available for staff and patient dietary wants and needs alike. Taking a tray from the stack at the beginning of the line, Jena handed it to Jake before grabbing a tray for herself. Setting her tray on the railing she walked along sliding it down the line as she went.
"You can have anything you want. Anything you don't finish, you can take with you for later if you wish." She smiled down to Jake before glancing back over to the food laid out and picking up an empty plate and handing it to the male Noghri cook behind the counter. "A bacon cheeseburger, medium-well, and fries please"
"Will that be all, Doctor?"
"For now, yes, Del. Thank you.
The Noghri reached into a cold tray and brought out a decent sized raw bantha burger patty and slapped it on the grill behind the counter. Next to the burger, he tossed three strips of thick cut bacon down to cook also. While the meat sizzled in the open flame the Noghri then placed an open bun next to it on the griddle side of the grill so it could begin toasting. Turning back to Jena and Jake, the Noghri looked down at Jake. Noting Jakes small size and familiar looks, Del leaned an arm on the clear hard plasti-sneeze guard that protected the food trays and spoke to him. "And who might you be, youngling? You look familiar."
Jena placed a gentle hand on Jakes shoulder with a smile and a reassuring nod. She would let him introduce himself. It was the best way for him to get to know some of the other staff around the RDMC since there would probably be times when she wasn't accompanying him. And Del wasn't just your average Noghri, or cook, either. He was also somewhat of a security guard for the cafeteria, though that fact wasn't highly broadcast. His family had loyally served the Shaewe family for a few generations now, and also served the RDMC ever since Dr. Mercotti had taken over as head administrator....

*Jake made sure to take in all the details he could as he was led through the RDMC, trying to commit as much of it to memory and also consulting the datapad at the same time to compare the map with his current location. When introduced to someone along the way, Jake always replied with a "nice to meet you" and a polite bow before they moved on, wanting to leave the best impression he possibly could.
When they reached the cafeteria, he was pleased to see it was much like the one on Felucia, at least in terms of service. He followed Jena to the buffet line, thanking her for the tray that she offered him, then followed her along the buffet line. He was still quite short, so there was some slight difficulty in seeing what was available to him. Doctor Shaewe herself decided to order a bacon cheeseburger with fries, which... actually kind of surprised Jake. Weren't doctors all about health and stuff, and wasn't that kind of food unhealthy? Though that did sound good...
As he contemplated whether or not he should ask for something similar, the chef—of Noghri race, Jake recognized—peered down at Jake, saying he looked familiar. Jake looked surprised; he did? How? Jake hadn't seen a Noghri this up close in his life! At least, he was pretty sure. Whose hand was that on his shoulder?! Oh, just Doctor Shaewe's. She was giving him some sort of reassuring smile. Jake looked back at the Noghri, unsure what to say.* Uh... I, uh, don't think we've met, sir. I'm Jake Palmer Calmcacil. I uh... oh, you might've met my sister Morgan! She looks just like me. *Yeah, that was probably it, had to be, Jake wagered; they'd stayed here for a little bit after all. His smile came back, suddenly feeling more assured and confident. He wasn't sure why that specifically had put him on the spot, but it was okay now.*

"Ahh yes, young Morgan. She's a good kid. Saw her a couple of times when the Doc here was fixing her up."
Del waved a hand toward Jena with a grin before turning back to the grill momentarily to flip the burger and bacon over before reaching over to the deep fryer to drop the basket of fries waiting there to be cooked. Turning back he spoke to Jake again.
"Well Jake, it's good to meet you. You can just call me Del. I'm here almost everyday, so if you get hungry just come see me and I'll fix you up something good...okay?" He grinned as he turned back to the grill and continued to prepare Jena's food while waiting for Jake to decide what he wanted.
Jena dropped her hand from Jakes shoulder while Del talked to him and busied herself with filling up a tall mug full of one of her favorite drinks of mocha caf. Glancing over to Jake with a smile, she took a sip before speaking. "Would you like something to drink, Jake? There's soda, tea, all kinds of juices, milk....whatever you want."
She smiled again while carefully setting the steaming mug of caf on her tray so she could accept the plate of food Del was handing to her. Setting the plate beside the mug on the tray, she thanked Del while adding some salt to her fries. While she waited for Jake to decide what he wanted she turned to the salad bar behind them and picked up a couple of small dip bowls full of tangy ranch dressing, adding them to her tray of food....

*There was the confirmation, the chef had just met Morgan. And remembered her too, that she was a "good kid." Yep, that was Morgan alright. He smiled, though remembered that Morgan had her scars "smoothed" while she was here. That was before they had met, so he didn't know what they looked liked before, or if they were even noticeable differences.
His attention was brought back to the present when the Noghri said it was nice to meet him and introduced himself as Del, then invited Jake to come see him anytime he wanted something good to eat. At this, Jake grinned widely and gave him a nod of the head to make up for the lack of space to give him a bow.* Thanks sir, I will! *His eyes lingered upon the cooking burger for a moment, somewhat longingly. He knew he was here to try new things but... it was too tempting. He had to have one as well.* Um... I-I think I'd like one of those as well please. And some fries too! Er, please. *Yeah, he could have one today and do something new another day! Hopefully. Probably. But then Doctor Shaewe's voice distracted him and he turned to listen as she asked if he'd like something to drink, listing choices of tea, sodas, juices, and milk. Once again, this was probably where he should have picked something healthy, but his childlike instincts once more took over. Well, first, he had to be sure this option was available. So, meekly, he asked.* Is... is there chocolate milk? *He started to blush a little. Would Doctor Shaewe think his choices were unhealthy? ... why was he worried about that when she was ordering a bacon cheeseburger? He needed to relax a little and enjoy himself...*

Del grinned when Jake placed his order, rather enthusiastically, and nodded to the boy before turning back to the grill to begin preparing another bacon cheeseburger. Jena turned back to Jake when he asked if there was chocolate milk. She noticed the faint blush on the boys cheeks when he asked about the milk, and grinned a little. Reaching back, she took a freshly washed glass from row of glasses on the counter and handed it to him.
"If you go over to that machine on the end of the counter, I think you'll find your chocolate milk." She gave him a wink as she pointed with her other hand the drink machines lined along the counter top beside the small orderly rows of cups and glasses. She had to fight the sudden urge to ruffle his hair like she used to do Aarons when he was that age. Smiling to herself at the memory, she reached over to the counter again and picked up some napkins and eating utensils then set them on the tray beside her plate. Meanwhile, Del was humming to himself as he flipped the burger on the grill and grabbed a plate from the stack on the small mobile counter beside the buffet line....

*So now all Jake had to do was wait until his burger was ready. And put some other food on his plate while waiting. Doctor Shaewe handed him a glass, which he accepted and followed her gesture towards where the drinks were, where Doctor Shaewe confirmed that there was, indeed, chocolate milk there. Now he liked to think that he was a mature young boy... most of the time, but there were some things he just couldn't resist. Chocolate milk was one of those things.
He made his way to the drinking machine and filled his glass with chocolate milk, though made sure not to fill it too much. But the amount he put in wasn't enough... he could fill it a little more. ... maybe just a tiny bit more. Yeah, that was good. Okay, that was a little more than usual... but who cared? He could indulge himself.. for one day at least...
He gave Doctor Shaewe a nervous grin before heading back to the buffet line, picking out some assorted fruit and veggies as side dishes; had to have something healthy in all this. And he really liked fruit too, so that helped. And some veggies were okay. Though that meat was smelling really good right now, and he sure was glad he'd ordered some...*

Soon enough, Del handed Jake the plate with the delicious looking bacon cheeseburger and fries on it. The Noghri chuckled to himself when the boy carefully accepted the plateful of food and set it down on the tray beside the other edible items he had picked out from the buffet. Turning back to the grill, Del hummed a popular tune while he took a wire brush and began cleaning the steel grate getting it ready for the next order.
Jena thanked the Noghri once again then led Jake over to one of her favorite booths in the corner of the room. Once settled in the bench seat, she took the top bun off of the burger and looked thoughtfully at the condiments that sat on the edge of the table up against the wall. Deciding against any of the usual burger garnishments, she picked up a butter knife and dipped it into the ranch dressing she'd placed on her tray earlier. Looking over to Jake with a smile, while spreading the dressing on the bun, she spoke.
"How is your family? I hope Morgan isn't having any issues with her scars anymore."
She wanted to ease him into the conversation of why he wanted to be a healer, or at least learn to heal more efficiently. She wanted him to be comfortable talking to her which is one of the reasons she asked about Morgan and his family, that and she had a soft spot for Morgan. After setting the knife on the edge of the plate she placed the bun back on top of the burger smashing it down a little as she did so then popped a fry into her mouth and chewed as she quietly thought about a training regime suitable for an eight year old.

*Finally, he had his burger, and it looked and smelled so delicious. He thanked Del and followed Doctor Shaewe to a booth, similarly adding condiments to his burger, albeit more traditional ones. Oh man, this looked so good, and he couldn't wait to take a bite— Wait, Doctor Shaewe was talking. He'd almost had the burger to his mouth, but he stopped as she spoke. She asked about his family, and if Morgan was having any more trouble with her scars. He lowered the burger a bit, then smiled.* Oh, no, she doesn't! At least, I don't think so. She said she didn't... And my family's good! *He wasn't sure what else to say to that, so he was only silent for a moment, looking down at his burger. Then he finally took a bite of it, and wow that was tasty. He wasn't sure how long it had been since he'd had one made fresh-to-order, and it was as delicious as it had smelled. He closed his eyes and savored the flavor as he chewed slowly, then swallowed it.* Mmmmmmmmm... *He then opened his eyes and blushed a little; that had probably been a bit more dramatic than intended, or should be just for a bite of a cheeseburger, even if it did have bacon on it. Was it just the hunger talking? No, this burger really was that good. But still, he would have to tone it down a bit in the future...*

"It's good to hear that she's not having any problems now. It's also good to hear that everyone else is doing good."
Jena smiled while picking up her burger and taking a bite. The food was good, as always, and it seemed like Jake was enjoying it too with the little 'Mmmmmm' sound he made when he took a bite of his own burger. Grinning at his little flush of color, Jena took a drink of her caf as they continued to eat in a comfortable silence. After a few moments, she'd finished her burger and pushed the plate off to the side while still nibbling on some of the fries left on the dish and sipping on her mug of caf. Studying Jake casually, thoughtfully, she tilted her head slightly and spoke.
"So tell me, Jake....what do you hope to learn while you're here? Do you just want to learn more about Force healing, or is there any particular area of the medial field that you're interested in?" His answer would give her an idea of how to proceed with his training. Together they could figure out what was best for Jake and what the most logical course of action to take in his training would be.

*Jake smiled when Jena said it was good to hear that everyone was well, then continued eating. It was to be a fairly silent meal, apparently, not that Jake minded; talking was good, but it just made eating take longer.
When they were mostly done and there was only a little bit of food left on his plate, Doctor Shaewe suddenly asked Jake about just how much he wanted to learn, or what in particular he wanted to learn. To be honest... he hadn't really thought about it fully, and now he felt a little embarrassed. He could come up with something out of nowhere, sure, but that didn't seem honest. So, with a bit of blushing and failure to meet Doctor Shaewe's gaze, he decided to tell the truth.* I... don't know. I just wanted to come see how real healers work and learn about it from them. Er, not that the ones on Felucia aren't real healers too! Just... Honoghr's are supposed to be the best, so I thought it would be the best to learn from the, well, the best. *He supposed that still wasn't very specific. If he was supposed to be specific... then he supposed he'd failed some sort of test already due to his overeagerness. He'd learn, he supposed, but he wasn't off to a good start... Unless... he looked up to meet Doctor Shaewe's gaze.* But... if I learn about all sorts of, um, medical techniques, I'll find what I'm best at, right? *Yeah, that was a good answer, wasn't it? He hoped so. He felt like he was being tested and he wasn't sure why. Maybe he was just putting too much pressure on himself, but the medical arts were a serious technique. Well, not that other areas of the Force weren't serious, but... Ah, whatever, he didn't need to justify this to himself.*

Setting the mug down beside her plate, Jena listened to Jake with interest. He seemed to be a little embarrassed about voicing his thoughts at the moment and didn't meet Jena's gaze at first. She did find his honesty endearing though, especially when he admitted he wasn't sure exactly what he wanted to learn and that he just wanted to learn all he could. He had even paid the RDMC medical team a compliment prompting a smile from Jena.
"I don't know about our team being the best, but we do try to do what's best for our patients. Being one of the very few large medical complexes in the Outer Rims has it's advantages and disadvantages. Now as for you wanting to learn whatever you can....that's perfectly fine. It'll give us a chance to find out what you can do, and like doing, and then go from there. We can start sometime in the next few days with actual hands on training." Smiling once again, she folded her hands in front of her on the table and waited to see what Jake thought of the idea.

*Jake couldn't tell if Doctor Shaewe was being honest or modest about the RDMC's status in the galaxy, but she at least talked about its merits. She had to be being modest, there was nothing but good word about the RDMC, it had highly-trained and skilled doctors and all the most recent equipment to get the job done.
But Jake was more concerned about the reception to his goals, so when Doctor Shaewe said that it was totally fine, that she agreed with his idea that it would help him find what he liked best and what he was good at. He smiled with relief, followed by raising his eyebrows surprised when she suggested starting so soon with hands-on training. That was a good way to learn, yes, but before he did that...* Er, uh, awesome! But uh... is there like... stuff I can read first? Ya know, so I know what I'm doing...

Jena chuckled softly when Jake's eyebrows rose at the suggestion of starting hands on training in a few days. He seemed unsure of that idea. Somewhere in the conversation he must have thought she was just going to throw him into training without any kind of preparations so when he asked if there was reading material that he could go over first, she nodded her head in affirmation. She didn't want to give him more than he could handle. Of course, it probably would've helped if she had mentioned, beforehand, that there actually were books he could read on the subject. She had to remember that Jake was still a child and not a full blown medical student that had already been through a few years of training.
"Of course, Jake. We have an extensive medical library, with holo-books and regular old fashioned books, that you're more than welcome to use. There's numerous good ones on Force healing and conventional procedures, too. I also have some books in my office on various subjects in the medical field."
Pausing, she picked up her mug and held it between both hands while she took a drink. Giving Jake a warm, and somewhat teasing smile, she continued on with a lighthearted tone. "Don't worry, Jake....I wasn't going to make you perform brain surgery without having you read up on it first. Besides....I'm saving that procedure for you for next week." She grinned jokingly, giving him a wink. She wanted him to be comfortable in a given scenario, ask question when he had any, get an understanding of what it meant to be a healer....but most of all she wanted him to be sure that healing was a responsibility he wanted to undertake....
