NCO wandered the city for a few hours, familiarizing himself with its general lay out, and taking note of points of interest to visit later. One such place was the Daritha's Tavern, another was a small but fairly busy real-estate office, another was a general workshop/garage that seemed to do work on just about anything mechanical, so on and so forth. After he had gotten a pretty good sense of the city in general, he made his way back towards the tavern, as the workday was coming to a close in the city around him, perhaps Plu would stop by the tavern tonight, if there wasn't to much else going on in the Or'dinii Empire. NCO approached Daritha's Tavern just as the evening crowd began to trickle in...

The recruitment & testing center built by the II was on the south end of the island. The main building was a number of meeting rooms on the ground floor for potential recruits. Wide banks of windows gave a spectacular view to the ocean. A number of underground levels were devoted to the testing of everything from academic subjects to fitness & weapon usage. While the ground floor would do little to stop an attack, the underground areas were designed to be extremely defensible.
The front desk was an automated system that would direct people to open meeting rooms. In the case that meeting rooms were all being used, there was also a sitting area with a number of up to date entertainment programs. For the moment, though, it seemed that only about half the rooms were being used.

They paind their fair and got out. The little group entered the building and was greeted with horror. The arch enemy of any person of questionable repute. A hinder in the great cog of life. A lobby nightmare. An automated front desk system.
-Sherer- "I actually liked the view, but then... this happened."
She walked up to it, with the two men towering over either of her shoulders trying to descern what the hell was going on.
"Go active duty."
-Sherer- "Submenu, ehhh...."
-Dobs- "No no, I saw a recruitment tab. Go back."
-Sherer- "Ok... where?"
"Right bracket, third row."
-Sherer- "Not seeing its... ah. there."
"No wait, I saw one for testing, we needed to do tests. I guess this is for something else? Like..."
-Sherer- "Duke, shut up. This is comms tech, its my job. Now.... recruitment.... text... text... boring... eh.... application.... there. Follow the yellow bricks it says. Over there, to the right."
"Huh.... but.... ok, lets do this YOUR way then."
It seemed to be a hospital like order here. There were a bunch of lines going from the automated system, all different coloured. The mandalorians started to walk on the yellow brick road.

The yellow tiles led down to the first of the testing centers. Once there they were greeted by an actual person. In true mando fashion they couldn't really tell the age, gender or even species of the person. But it was still a real person instead of an automated system. Seeing that the group didn't have one of the filled testing forms from above, the figure quickly walked them through how to sign up for the tests they wanted to take. The sheet listed out the II Panels & scores needed in each area to qualify for it. The major testing areas were STEM (Sciences, Technical, Education, Mathematics), Languages, & Physical. Each of which had a number of different tests you could take. For an obviously militant crew like this one, they were recommended to take the basic STEM tests. That would cover , common technical skills, basic history, & the more generalized maths. The group was also advised to take any Language tests they knew. Physical would be the main focus for combat focused groups. Stamina, dexterity, weapon drills & unarmed combat would all factor in heavily. The nice thing though was that they could retake any test they wanted, as often as they wanted. It wasn't like there was a charge for it.
Once they had picked the tests they wanted to try, they were scanned for any computer equipment or other records. Anything of the sort would be safely locked away in a guarded locker until they were finished. The academic sections of the test were fairly straight forward. The person would enter a booth which would block all outside contact, though it was being monitored & recorded. Each test would start with the simplest questions & rapidly increase in difficulty. Once the person reached a certain percentage of missed questions in a section of the test, it would end & begin the next test. Once the person had finished all their desired tests, they would be sent down to the physical testing rooms. Unlike the individual booths above, the physical rooms were each rather large. The endurance room was a full sized underground oval running track. Other testing areas included balancing beams, weight rooms, firing ranges with a wide array of weapons to choose from, & even a large dome used for testing explosive skill. Though the last area was well separated from the rest of the underground complex, it was still designed to survive a small grade nuclear weapon detonating in it.

-DUKE-
OH GOD. He was a veteran of a hundred battles. He had shut off an entire space station once with an EMP bomb. He had blown a city shield generator from the sewers UNDER it, and now, he is going to do tests. He was a simple man. He was born, his father and mother thought him to survive on Myrkr, he was then thought to fight. The explosives and cooking came in later, and with the exploisives came combat engineering. This? Oh god. He was a major failiure on the education part. He never really had a formal education. Sure, he read.... sometimes... if... you know, in those magazines with a lot of twileks had some articles in it... but culture? No. Not really. He was pretty avarage in mathematics and sciences, and nearly failed the tech test. Soldiery. That, he nailed. Strenght, military equipment handling. He was commended for being respectful towards his unarmed combat sparring partner for letting the man land a hit in the end. It was obvious that the guy was outclassed on that front. Constitution.... he got high points, true, but there was a nasty reminder of his age, his smoking, drinking and eating habit. He felt he SHOULD have nailed that. A good 10 years ago at least. Explosives. Art of creating chaos. Now, he may have shown bad knowledge on the technical part, but it was now clear that it was because his knowledge is more.... focussed. Focussed on blowing things up. What he did in there was considered art. Assembling, dissembling bombs, using just the amount of ordinance needed to clear obstacles. All the while he was boasting all kinds of things. The only theoretical test he did good on was the one he asked alone for. Combat engineering. Theoretical raising of bridges, building materials, building bunkers, trenches, traps, theoretical trench war-fair and strategy.
-Sherer- Did great on the theoretical tests, somewhat over avarage. Passed constitution, weapon drills, dexterity with flying colours. Passed Strenght tests. Did ok in unarmed combat. 100% marksmanship test. The woman was the slow, but precise kind. Not like Duke whom destroyed the target dumies top to toe. The woman hit one spot, and one spot only.
-Dobs- Great at technology, not so high on cultural knowledge. Passed the soldiery tests well, and did really really well in the pilot simulators. Flirted with an other aspirant. Got Comms number.

With their generally low STEM scores, a lot of the possible Panels were closed to the group as a whole. Some individuals had more options that others, but for the most part the Infinite Imperium was most concerned with raising the general level of intelligence & education. Dobs' list included a wide range of technician slots, as well as a few naval slots. For Sherer the list included an offer from the prestigious Recon panel. Duke himself had a list that included a range of construction & demolition slots, both in & out of combat. However, their lists did have one slot of supreme note. The utmost coveted panel of Ori'ramikade. The offer, however, was collectively for the three of them. While even Recon was regiment to a degree, though not as much as the Legions, the Ori'ramikade were small individual teams on call for the toughest problems.

"A JOB?"
The word came out like as if it was grains soaked in molten rubber, topped with rancid whipped cream. That was Dukes reaction to "Out of combat demolition". That meant no rocket jets. No rockets fired from rocketjets, mid rocketjet-flight under a rocket-jet assault. It wasnt even demolishing a building just so the friendly tanks muzzle could take the enemy tank in the side. The most horrible words went through the giants head. CIVILIAN DEMOLITION. NO. He was a cook. That was his non war choice. he was about to throw the results into the guys face that brought it, but then, it became all good.
Elite Commando. What in the name of Kad did they expect?
The only one that actually thought on it was Dobs. He would not have minded to sign up 5 years as a steady pilot, either with the Kad of Delights or on an other more modern ship. It took him maybe 4 minutes to change. Elite Commando was elite commando. Duke would do it without pay even. You cant buy glory...

==Recruitment SL== <<106 PP; G11 Sector, Lehon, Middle Beach>> With that decided they were welcomed into the Imperium. There was very little in the way of pomp, after all it was still a Mandalorian Empire. Each was handed a small stack of metal pips & a computer chip that would overhaul any HUD they had to work with the clan systems. While they could mount the pips on their armor, it wasn't required. They also got a brief run down on the pips, apparently know as Certs. It would only be a short time after later that the group would find themselves back in the hustle & bustle of the city.

Theodore Wall was not a particularly patient person, then again, he was constantly riding herd on a number of new recruits constantly, which probably had a lot to do with it. Luckily he didn't have to deal with any one group for very long. He just talked them through the basics & passed them on to the next orientation. It was fairly simple stuff & they would have recordings of all of it anyway, but it still had to be done.
-Wall Ok, Ok. Settle down. All of you have your HUD systems & have gotten the crash course. You have also heard a bunch of information half of you won't remember half of come tomorrow morning.
There was a scattering of laughter from his small group, but it wasn't very loud.
-Wall I'm going to add a little more to be forgotten. You will notice that each of you got a number of small metal pips & were instructed not to lose them. Those more or less determine how much you get paid.
Suddenly he had a lot more of the room's attention.
-Wall In general, they are collectively called Certs. There are four main types. The first & only one that doesn't affect your pay is the Boiler Plate. That covers your name, your rank, where you are stationed & what panel or panels you are assigned to.
It was simple enough in practice. In many ways it was like the service patches of any major government or organization.
-Wall The really flashy certs are called Pennants. That is because they are actual cloth elements you can wear on your armor. There are a couple of really high ticket ones here. The basic one that nearly everyone will get eventually is half-cape. You first get one at the rank of P5 & it changes as you improve your rank to O1 & then again at O5. At P5 the color is white. At O1 is changes to grey & then to black at O5. Regardless of color, it extends from the spine to the tip of the shoulder & from the shoulder to the hip. It can be worn on either side.
A hologram showing the half-cape appears as he speaks, highlight the changes.
-Wall Next up is the Halter. In this case it is a pair of straps worn parallel over your chest, extending from the shoulders to the hips. You generally earn this one by reaching a certain rank in one field or another. Medical people get it in purple. Diplomatic folk in yellow. Archivist are in white. Inquisition in red. Trust me when I say you don't want to cross those folks.
The holograph changes to show the next design.
-Wall Ok, on to awards. Generally, the are given out for doing something that sets you apart from those around you. General heroics & daring-do are fairly good for an award. The nice thing about awards is they don't expire, if you have one, you have it for life. Each one also comes with a nice little bonus to your monthly pay.
A quick succession of various awards are displayed in the hologram.
-Wall The main feature of this class is the certificates themselves. There are three main types: Science, Technical, & Martial. There are also three levels to each certificate. The levels are Novice, Apprentice & Master. A basic grasp of the subject in question is usually enough to get you a Novice's Certificate. Apprentice's Certificate usually means you have a fairly solid grasp of the topic & a Master's Certificate is usually the result of a lifetime of study & often enough active work in the subject. Lastly, every certificate expires after ten years. That means you need to retake the test every decade if you want to keep the pip & the bonus to your paycheck.
There was a number of disappointed sounds at this, but it made a certain amount of sense. Skills you didn't work with tended to fade over time. Then again, Wall had failed to mention that certificates that related directly to your job assignment were exempt from the expiration process.
-Wall Science Certificates are generally things you know. A number of you already have a number of these. Everything from the Maths to scientific fields of knowledge & languages you happen to know. Technical are things you do. Mechanical skills, directing drones, piloting, & so forth. Martial Certificates are a bit of a grab bag in that they are any certificate relating to combat or warfare.
As he talks, the hologram shifts first to a white triangular beaker. A moment later it shifts again to a blue cog, then a brown square fist.
-Wall As some of you might have guessed, they have both colors & shapes associated with them. In addition, awards are gold six pointed stars & boiler plate is in black, though the boiler plate doesn't have a set icon shape. The Novice Certificate are just the icons, while the Apprentice's & Master's have one & two dots below the icon respectively.
There were nods around the room as Wall paused.
-Wall All of this so far however is in reduced view. This means you can't tell from a glance whether the person knows a ton of physics or is just knows a lot about various types of media or history. It does give you a good idea of how hands on they are by the mix of white & blue, or if they have combat training by how much red there is. Focusing your HUD icon on the certificates on the other hand, will allow you to review them in detail. When they were earned, who earned them, what they are for & a number of other details. You can take a moment to look around & check out your fellows for a minute.
True enough, the class was fairly engrossed in seeing who had what certificates.
-Wall Now the part you were all waiting to hear. Certificates are one of the main ways of boosting your income. Partly for the Imperium to encourage increased knowledge & partly to have a solid listing of emergency talent to call up if needed. Each cert you earn is good for a 2% pay bonus, calculated from your pay before any bonuses. That includes any awards you might happen to earn. Apprentice Certifications are counted as two Certs & Masters are counted as three. If you happen to be fairly dedicated to learning new things & end up with a ton of Certs, you can actually double your monthly pay. Or more if you happen to be a little crazy about it.
That got a fair bit of attention from the group & ensured that the lesson wouldn't actually be forgotten. Now was the time to really hit them.
-Wall Now, one last thing. You don't have to walk around with all your Certs bolted to your chest or wherever you happen to plant them. Anyone giving you a detailed look in their HUD will be able to see all your certificates, regardless of it you are wearing them or not. That being said, some idiots occasionally try to forge themselves a few certificates or wear some pennants they haven't earned. It won't work. Your list is in the Imperium's Holonet & hacking won't work either. The only thing you will manage to get out of it is a rather hefty fine. & on that cheery note, you are all dismissed.

The hotel had a light, airy feel to it. As she entered the room, Cecilia noticed several things immediately. Built with a mahogany framing style, most of the spaces in the room were in either a white or blue color scheme, combined with birch. Not what she was used to from Alderaan, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The veranda of the space, which was openly exposed to the room, with no walls to disrupt the flow of the rooms, offered a beautiful view over the city of Middle Beach. The city certainly felt alive and diverse, though she was not used to seeing this many Mandalorians, clad in heavy armor, all in one place. She would have to enquire into the local smiths in town, see if she could get something forged. But the main reason she was here was to visit the strange temple she had seen on the Starmap on Malachor V. Looking into the fiery crystal, she admired the perfectly cut, crystalline shape of the gemstone. The lucent colors radiated due to the lighting in the room, highlighting the entirely clear shape of it, save for a single flaw at the center of the gemstone, giving a unique orange streak through the center of it. It's patterns radiated on the black case she had to keep it in. Sighing, she closed the box and locked it, before keeping it in the hotel safe. She felt rather out of place in the luxurious hotel room in her disheveled state. So, stepping into the bathroom, she was glad to see that there was a jacuzzi, meaning she could take some time and relax. Stripping down, she stepped into the warm water and stretched out, letting the bubbles and warm water take her away from the stress of the world for a bit... 1 hour later... Stepping out of the tub, Cecilia put on a dove white bathrobe and stepped out into her room. Ordering a bottle of chilled champagne, she stretched out on the couch and waited for the room service to bring her what she had ordered.

If there were two things that mandalorians did well, it was hospitality & discretion. Within a minute of placing the order, a small drone floated into the room through the nearly hidden access hatch in one of the walls. The requested bottle was placed on one of the several side tables in the room, drawing attention to the several flyers & city guides that had been left out for those either visiting the city for the first time, or looking for something new they hadn't tried yet.

Entering the room where the wine had been placed by the drone, Cecilia poured herself a glass of the chilled wine and went to relax on the chaise on the balcony overlooking the city. As she sipped from the light, nearly weightless glass, her thoughts drifted across the galaxy. To what she was going to do after this. Evidently, she would need to make a decision regarding where she wanted to go after this. She was starting to feel out of touch with the Light Side, lost in the waves of the ancient history that shrouded both the light and dark sides. Currently, she considered herself a grey, but it wasn't enough for her. No, she felt as though she was still holding herself back. Pushing such thoughts aside, she decided to indulge herself the luxury of one night without having to worry about the responsibilities of the rest of the world. It was a shame there wasn't someone to share it with though...
The next day, after a hearty breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, she stepped out into the street, looking for someone to guide her to the nearest smith. She was effectively trying to find a Mandalorian Warrior who was evidently part of the resident clan.

It was not a difficult task, as pretty much all the local mandalorians were part of the resident clan. However, most of the locals in the North Quarter were either too rich to bother with someone obviously a tourist, or running errands for there employers. The hotel did, however, maintain a staff of errand boys for a wide range of tasks including being a local guide.
The errand boy ended up leading the way south, past the spaceport. As they traveled further south, the streets got narrower & there were fewer greenery features. They were still well cleaned & airy. As they moved south, the crowds also shifted from somewhat more snobby to more down to earth. The smithy was a fairly modest affair, only two floors. The majority of the second floor looked to be living quarters, either for the smith's family or possibly even rented out. Most of the ground floor was a single room, with sliding walls pulled all the way open. In effect, the ground floor became a pavilion with just a little effort. There was a roaring furnace at one end of the open space. Spread out through the rest of the area was a wide range of anvils, quenches & coal beds of various size & type.
The errand boy pointed out the master of the forge before returning back toward the hotel. The figure was a rather tiny person, presumably male from their walk. He was bellowing out orders over his helmet's speakers as he kept nearly a dozen & a half apprentices on track with nearly as many different jobs. The entire area was alive with the sound of hammering, screaming liquids, & roaring fires. It wasn't possible to pick out more than rough details behind the haze of smoke & steam.

Slowly stepping over to the forgemaster, she observed her surroundings. The smokescreen that hid away the majority of the room from view did not stop her from feeling the extreme heat in the room coming off the furnaces. The only time she had felt hotter was on Malachor V, when she was in that stupid tin can of a ship buried underground. But this was very close to that. Sauntering over to the master of the forge, she admired the detailing on his armor from a distance before she spoke to him. She wished Roderick was with her- he had a much greater knowledge of metals than she did. But he didn’t know what was it specifically that she needed made. It was a very strange order, to be certain, but what she was doing with the creation would be equally strange from the viewpoint of someone who didn’t understand the workings of her mind. Besides, Roderick couldn’t know what she was having made, as it was for him. In... exchange, for all the hardship he was enduring for her, slogging away on Mustafar. And generally for all the help that he gave her.
“Greetings, forgemaster. I see you are in the middle of something, but I have two requests of you.”

The master of the forge looked over what he assumed was his newest customer. He highly doubted she was a mando, mostly from the lack of any kind of armor. But she also didn't carry herself like one of them. She was well groomed enough to be wealthy. She was also pushy enough to be old money. That placed her at either tourist, or some old money family with enough pull & craziness to decide to try moving to Lehon. He was pretty sure he knew what she was going to ask however. Most of the galaxy's super wealthy ended up asking the same thing sooner or late when they saw a mando forge.
-Master Yes, I can make you armor, or weapons, or jewelry, or whatever little thing you have in mind. No, I can't make it out of beskar. Not that I don't have the skill. It is just a very tightly restricted metal & I seriously doubt even you have those kind of connections.
Truth was, the supply was so tightly controlled, he would be hard pressed to scrap up enough of the material to even make a ring without someone up the supply chain being aware of it. True there were some new mines opening up back on Mandalore under the ownership of other clans now that the trust had been sold off. But the prices for that were well beyond his ability.

"Oh not worry, I wasn't thinking anything of the sort..."
Producing a small, silver holoprojector from within the cloak she was wearing for the sole purpose of concealing her identity on this world, she set it dows on the small table to the side of the Forge Master. Activating it, the machine took a few milliseconds to whir to life before activating, displaying the first of her two requests. It was seemingly a mechanism intended to trap a spirit within it. Making use of a Ysalamir, combined with a strange series of frames, and two staffs meant for use by a force user, one could theoretically trap the particular spirit that Cecilia intended to trap. Specifically, this spirit was tied to a particular location, that being the ancient forge and holocron she was attempting to access on Korriban. Though ordinarily, she never really paid back her debts, she felt as to Roderick had helped her enough to deserve a tangible reward. Plus, she would need him to be at the height of his power in order for her plans to ultimately come to fruition. It was unlikely that the master smith had studied this specific tomb quite as extensively as she had, so he wouldn't understand what she needed this for, but here it was.
"This... device here needs to be forged specifically from xonolite. It won't make much sense to you, but I need this."
Which brought Cecilia to her second request. Pressing a button on the recorder pulled up the diagrams for a suit of armor. Evidently built for a man, and a very large on at that.
"Secondly, I need this suit of armor made, from Duranium. That will be all."

The forge master took the easier of the two requests first. The armor designs weren't too complex, or exotic. Additionally, she seemed to have a fairly good list of measurements for the intended subject.
-Master I usually prefer to have the wearer of any armor I make on hand. It lets me really fit it to them in a way that just a set of numbers makes difficult. I am guessing it is a gift or they aren't on hand for study?
The first ... device was much more complex & unusual.
-Master I am going to need a little more info to build this ... contraption of yours. This section here ...
He waves his hand through the base of the rig, momentarily disrupting the hologram.
-Master Looks a lot like the feed rig for a Ysalamir. If that is the case, I will have to check with one of my friends, as I haven't had to make one before & I hear they are very demanding. That same friend could see about supplying one of the creatures to you as well. As for this part ...
Again he disrupts the hologram, this time the complex set of interlocking frames.
-Master Are the energy feeds from here grounded into these frames or will they have a electrical inlay? Depending on what the answer is, that will change how the metal needs to be treated during the forging.
All around them the forge continue to work. A few paces away, one of the apprentices pulls a torso sized axe head from within a bed of coals. The metal bursts into flame as it reacts with the open air, but only for a moment before it is dunked into what very much appears to be a vat of blood. A few wisps of red tinged steam erupts upward & drifts toward the pair, though the Forge Master either doesn't notice or doesn't care.

Gesturing to the frame, Cecilia zoomed in to the part of the diagram, blowing it up, showing an exploded view of the frame. It was, indeed, a feed rig for a Ysalamir. In order to trap Force Energy, she would need to use one of the creatures combined with the complex framework to trap the spirit she was attempting to trap.
"It is a nutrient frame. In order to achieve my end goal, I will need one of the creatures as well."
Zooming back out, she noted the blood-soaking of the axe going on next to her. Deciding not to add any questions, she instead focus back onto the diagram, specifically the grounding mechanisms.
"The energy feeds are grounded from there. I will not have a power source for an electrical inlay."

The forge master took a few more minutes to look over the plans. He even called over a few apprentices here & there, either asking them some questions or sending them out into the city.
-Master So, I am pretty sure I can do this work for you. I am certain I can make the armor at least. The device will need some consulting outside my forge. The only real question is price. For something this simple, a few thousand credits should cover the armor.
