Once the CDF Barloz-class medium freighter, the Brunilda, has set down on the landing pad in the city's spaceport it had been assigned when granted permission to make for the city to meet with Field Marshal Marshall of the Federation of the Double Worlds, its pilot, CDF Captain Egidio Scavo does a quick, abbreviated post-flight check so that Marshall will not be left waiting for him and the Jedi Knight, Hyatt Ashton, accompanying him to disembark.
Walking down the landing ramp beside Egidio, Hyatt, a tall and broad shouldered native Corellian with a boxer's muscular build his loose fitting tunic and hooded outer robe cannot entirely conceal, reaches behind his head to tighten the leather cord securing his mane of blond hair in a ponytail and then strokes his bearded cheek as he reaches the foot of the boarding ramp and waits with his hands clasped behind his back for Marshall to arrive. Egidio, a short and burly native Corellian with dark hair, feels very small next to the far taller Jedi as he stands at parade rest while waiting beside him.

Victor Marshal had been on a routine tour of Tralus. Reviewing the training program, touring the new facilities for production of vehicles of war, and doing a general inspection. It was all part of his new job here. And while it was more mundane than his previous responsibilities, he was ok with that. It meant he could spend more time on his native homeworld of Talus, while also spending his free time trying to court Sahra Starmane. But such things were put to the side when Orbital Control had reached out to him.
As he sat in the backseat of the land speeder, he reviewed the file he had been sent. Detailing the arrival of a CDF vessel into orbit that had requested a meeting with him. Well, not him specifically, but it was close enough. The Federation had limited reports on this CDF Captain by the name of Egidio Scavo, but Victor merely needed a name. He could get the rest of the information from there.
He exited the speeder as it pulled up to the special access entry way to the spaceport. A handful of local soldiers stood waiting and fell in behind him as he made his way into the spaceport and headed straight for the hangar bay that the Brunilda had landed. Unlike most military officers, Victor wore a fairly casual suit with no tie. Preferring a more relaxed attitude when away from the battlefield. He came to a stop in front of the CDF Captain and what appeared most likely to be a Jedi from Corellia. He gave them both a nod and extended his hand out to the Captain to shake Victor Marshall, You must be Captain Scavo. Welcome to Tralus... So, what can I do for a you and your Jedi friend?

Egidio's service record, though not the stuff of legends, nonetheless shows that he has participated in the defense of Corellia on more than one occasion, fighting in battles against the likes of the New Order of the Eye and the Iron Fists. Just as many brave men and women fight bravely and well in the service of the militaries across the universe but will never be known to those they fought and sometimes died to defend, not every Jedi can be as renowned as the Dunta Corals, Will Sontirs, or Aerandir Calmcacils that achieve notoriety; and so Hyatt, who has served as one of the Corellian academy's guardians for most of his adult life, would not be surprised at all to learn that his name is not one that Marshall knows.
Egidio shakes Victor's hand firmly, "Thank you for meeting with us, Marshal. Getting the introductions out of the way before moving on to the business that has brought them here, Egidio motions towards Hyatt, This is Jedi Knight Ashton, from the Jedi academy on Corellia. Not one for flowery speeches or lengthy preambles, Egidio goes on to explain in brief so as to gauge whether or not further details will be desired, We've come to see whether or not Tralus has any interest in participating in an exchange of military technology and tactical training that we, along with the Jedi of Ossus, are hoping will not only improve relations between worlds with no love for the First Order, but will also increase the efficacy of any efforts to fight against them should the occasion arise. Where others might insert a speech about the way the First Order has sown its brand of tyranny across the universe far and wide, forming an evil, mighty empire the likes of which has not been seen in the universe for some time, or about how united worlds have a better chance of standing against that empire as it expands than they would if divided, but Egidio has little doubt that Marshall, who would hardly have attained his position were he not aware of such things, has recognized the growing threat posed to freedom represented by the rise and dauntingly rapid expansion of the First Order, and so only asks, We can go into more specifics, if you think Tralus would be interested in such an exchange?"

Victor took note of the Jedi's name as Egidio introduced the man. He was already making a mental note to review what ever service records the FedDub might have on either of the two. But between all the power shifts of late that the Galaxy had seen, it was entirely possible the data had been lost. After all, it was not that long ago that the Republic was a ruling power, before it fell and was replaced by local governments banding together to create an Alliance, that was then replaced by the Galactic Alliance as an official government. Tralus had also seen a shift in power from a corrupt Republic Senator to that of a shadowy cabal that was put down by the Th'tremsi. A group whom just as mysteriously as they appeared, disappeared. Leaving Jedi Master Rawkill to help the world establish a government of its own, before the official formation of the FedDub.
Thankfully all of that chaotic mess had been dealt with. And now the world was settling in for a new era of prosperity and renewal. Victor kept his focus upon Egidio as the man spoke of a proposition. As mention of an exchange of military technology and tactical training was mentioned, he was curious and interested. Corellia was a strong world, one known across the galaxy. But just as quickly as he was interested, it vanished as mention of Ossus was made. Remembering the reports he had read regarding the raid the First Order had conducted upon the Library there. While they needed allies in this fight against tyranny, the so called Jedi of Ossus were not the kind of allies you wanted Ossus... You mean that group that intentionally stood by while the Library there was turned into a crater by the First Order? Yes, I am sure they would be interested in learning tactics that did not include such cowardice... The Federation does need allies in this fight against the First Order's brand of tyranny, but not the kind that Ossus has to offer... If Corellia is interested in such an alliance, you will find us friends in such a proposition. But we have nothing to offer Ossus, not while that traitor remains in control there...

Egidio looks perplexed, taken aback by the venom in Victor's voice when he speaks of Ossus. The current venture he and Hyatt have embarked upon is the first time that the CDF has had any official dealings with Ossus, however, and Egidio supposes that in politics, as in life, there is always the possibility of being blindsided by behind the scenes goings on that one is unaware of. Looking over at Hyatt, Egidio sees that the Jedi, too, seems confused by Victor's strong reaction, and guesses that while the Jedi on Corellia have dealt with Master Riddick, they are also unaware of anything that might explain Victor's animosity in light of the fact that Riddick's account of what happened on Ossus varies from Victor's characterization of it.
A savvy enough diplomat to recognize when there is little to gain from trying to alter strong opinions, especially when there is a distinct possibility that he and Hyatt do not have the full picture, Egidio nods, recovering from his surprise quickly. "Understood. One of the CDF's primary objectives having been to strengthen the ties between the Five Brothers, Egidio is undeterred from that goal by the way things began as he continues, Corellia is not only interested in pursuing the kind of alliance I spoke of with the Twin Worlds, but also in restrengthening the bonds between the rest of the Five Worlds as well. The exchange of tech and tactical training I spoke of is intended to lay the foundation for a renewed sense of cooperation and brotherhood between the Five Rocks as well as better enable them to stand against the First Order, and it is the CDF's sincere hope that Tralus will embrace the idea."

It was not hard to tell that the story Egidio and Hyatt were told differed greatly from the reports he had received of the conflict. Riddick undoubtedly downplayed the seriousness of the conflict and any tactical blunders he had made, in hopes of ensuring an alliance with the Corellians. He nodded as Egidio changed tact and mentioned that the CDF hoped to run such a program between the Five Worlds. While he knew he would need to get Marcus' sign off on any final official deal, he could certainly start laying the ground work for such a deal You will find the Federation stalwart allies in such a cause. While the Twin worlds wish to remain self governed, it is plain that we all need allies in this fight against tyranny... But such discussions should be had in much more comfortable surroundings than standing in a hangar bay. Follow me... Victor motioned for the pair to follow as he lead the way across the hangar bay to a conference room where they could sit down around a table. Victor took his seat first and motioned for Egidio and Hyatt to do the same So please elaborate some more on how this partnership might work?

Nodding with a grin when Marshall affirms that the Federation is in favor of the idea of an alliance of the Five Worlds born from the idea of standing against the First Order, Egidio assures him, "The idea is not at all to form any kind of central government, so there's no need at all to worry about the Twin Worlds not remaining self governed." Once they have all moved to the conference room, Egidio and Hyatt take their seats when Victor indicates that they should do so.
Egidio lifts a hand when asked to elaborate on the idea of what the proposed alliance might entail, "Well, like any good partnership should, he begins with a grin, remaining more informal that formal by virtue of his personality. Sharing intelligence and resources, participating in joint operations when the need arises, all the usual things. Leaning forward and clasping his hands together, he becomes marginally more serious as he continues, More, and maybe most importantly, pledging mutual defense of the Five Worlds, and making it widely known that to attack one of the Five Worlds is to attack them all. Winking, the informality returning even though it is evident in his eyes how seriously he takes the idea he has come to propose, Egidio concludes, Hopefully make the First Order or other baddies think twice about making a move against any of the Five Rocks, you know? Lifting his hands out at his sides, he asks, How is that all sounding so far?"

Victor listened with interest as Egidio laid out the high level overview of what the intended alliance would involve. While he didn't necessarily think such a pact would make the First Order think twice about a strike. He was fairly certain they would consider their options differently. And that was more than enough to make him like this idea. Which meant there was every chance that Marcus would be agreeable to it. Especially if the FedDub maintained its own governance and independence You're certainly saying all the right things as far as I am concerned Captain... And if I know our king half as well as I think I do... He is certainly of a similar mind. The Galactic Alliance may not have been perfect, but it gave us a united front... Much like the Alliance did before it... The Five Brothers have stood as one against greater odds in the past... It is time we do so once again. But I wonder, Captain, does your Government truly feel as you do? We are, after all, pragmatic minds. Politicians do not always feel the same as we do...

Egidio smiles when Victor expresses his opinion that the king he serves is likely to back the proposal that has been made, and chuckles when Victor suggests that politicians do not always share the pragmatic mindset oft found among those in the military. "Well, Egidio replies, you aren't wrong about politicians in general, but fortunately for you and I, Corellia's political leaders are cut from a different cloth than most. I think it's safe to say that the idea of the Five Rocks standing together as they have in the past is one that already has the tacit approval and backing of the most influential movers and shakers in Corellia's political world."
Nodding in agreement, Hyatt add his own thoughts on the subject, "I concur with Captain Scavo; were the alliance we've discussed be formally proposed, I feel quite certain Corellia's government would support it."

Victor nodded, grateful for the reassurance that the Corellian leadership would be in agreement. So long as they all worked toward the same goal, and they did not fall prey to the same political machinations of governments past, then this alliance might actually work Very well. Provided there is nothing further either of you wish to discuss, I will take this matter to King Starmane with all haste...

Egidio exchanges a glance with Hyatt to determine whether the Jedi Knight has anything additional to contribute to what has been said, and when he sees that the Jedi does not, returns his attention to Victor and extends his hand to shake with Victor, "I think we've covered everything pertinent for the time being, Marshal, and look forward to hearing what King Starmane's response to the proposal will be."
Inclining his head in a bow, Hyatt says, "Many thanks, Marshal, for meeting with us, and for bringing this matter to the attention of the King. May the Force be with you."
After Victor has taken his leave of them, Egidio and Hyatt return to the Brunilda, and then lift off to begin the return trip to Corellia to report in on the results of their meeting with Victor.

Life in Rellidir and across Tralus as a whole continued on seemingly unhampered by the course of Galactic Politics. The Fed Dub remained the primary government of the world, the only difference being that Coalition troops were garrisoned and trained upon the planet. Fed Dub police continued to patrol the streets and uphold the local laws. Another change was that of the appearance of more Knights of Karabor from Talus. They were few in number and for the most part did not interfere or get involved with investigations or law enforcement. Many of them spent their time training and contributing to the community by assisting with relief efforts and performing various tasks as requested of them by the people

Outside a quiet, unassuming house in a suburb of Rellidir, a small crowd of twenty or so mixed aliens had gathered, led by a rough-looking Drall with unusually-long, brown fur. Carrying signs that read "Traitor to the Republic," they flung rotting vegetables and mud at the house. The immediate reason was not evident, but locals would know the significance: former Senator Dmitri Koronov had grown up in that house. While it had been several years since the collapse of the Galactic Republic, and public sentiment had largely absolved Koronov of blame in those intervening years, recent HoloNet chatter had begun to once again target him for the ensuing political problems of the Corellian Coalition. If the Republic had not been "betrayed," there would be no Coalition, or so they reasoned, forgetting that many of the same problems plagued the Republic.

Prime Minister Detlev Hahn spends the first days after his appointment by President Trauner of the Federation of the Double Worlds meeting with members of the press to try and face the inevitable concerns about his association with the Liberation Party, the population of Tralus about equally divided between those that consider the Liberation Party terrorists and those that view them as heroes. Assuring the public that he was only involved with the non-violent actions taken by the Liberation Party, citing the many times he went on record as condemning those members of the Party that resorted to violent means, Detlev promises that now that he has been named Prime Minister, with President Trauner vowing to allow Tralus its independence unless in times of crisis or war, he will use his influence in the Party to assure that it stands down now that its objectives have been achieved.
Detlev knows that his press interviews will only achieve so much, and so also meets with the leaders of Tralus' CDF and CorSec forces to begin forging working relationships with them, we;ll aware that it will take time to build the necessary trust to make that possible.

Office of the Prime Minister
Detlev rubs the back of his neck after signing off of the comm transmission with President Trauner, having been left with the strong impression that Trauner supports Diktat Gaultieri's proposed idea of forming a special forces unit that would be offered to the NRA as a show of the Five World's support. Gaultieri also made it clear that she intends to offers the NRA other means of support off book that have, understandably in Detlev's opinion, given Verdandi, the highest ranking Duchess on Drall, pause given the possibility of the First Order getting wind of the Five World's support and retaliating, as they had when the Corellian Coalition had rankled them enough to rouse their ire.
Detlev, a member of the Liberation Party, is no stranger to taking action where securing the freedom of his people is concerned, but cannot help but think that supporting Gaultieri's proposal so soon after he has succeeded in securing Tralus' independence is a risky venture. Torn between the choice before him, Detlev decides that there is no harm in at least having the leader of Tralus' CDF ground forces begin looking at candidates for a slicer specialist for the unit, telling himself that the discussion will also give him a chance to feel out the man's stance on the idea of supporting the NRA, which could make his own decision an easier one to make when the time comes.

Not as independently wealthy as some of the leaders of the other Five Worlds, Prime Minister Detlev Hahn's contribution to the NRA care package Diktat Gaultieri has assembled from donations from the CEC, mining and hauling ships donated by Neakita, Selonia's leader and the owner of a large mining corporation, and credits donated by the Diktat herself, The President of the Double Worlds, and Duchess Verdandi of Drall, is perhaps not the most impressive, but the funds he acquires from a large charity dinner that he pays for out of his own pocket and hosts for a guest list comprised of the wealthier citizens and business owners on Tralus are perhaps the most hard earned of the credits that go to the CEC to pay off the bill that Gaultieri had run up in her quest to aid the NRA in their fight against tyranny and oppression.

Office of the Prime Minister
Jedi Knight Dia'olgkru, a 41 year old Tukian Twi'lek Jedi Sentinel that was selected to act as the Watchman of Tralus and has come to it's capital to meet with Prime Minister Hahn to discuss her posting, is not certain why it was she was selected for the role; with Tralus being populated primarily by miners and farmers, and not known for having a great deal of criminal activity as a general rule, Dia wonders what need there is for a Watchman. Her introspective and pensive nature, coupled with the amount of time she often operates alone often makes the green skinned Twi'lek's expression seem impatient at best, and even Dia can feel that her frown is almost a scowl as she sits in a chair waiting for the Prime Minister's secretary to let her know Hahn is ready to meet her; having learned recently of the occupation of Ryloth, Dia cannot really say why the news troubles her as much as it does. Having been discovered by a Jedi Investigator from the academy on Corellia when she was only three years old, Dia remembers very little of her time spent on her home world and so far as she knows has no family on Ryloth to worry over.
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Dia pushes her brooding about her home world away so that she can focus on her learning from Hahn what her duties here on Tralus will entail.

Office of the Prime Minister
Prime Minister Detlev Hahn forces a smile as the grim looking Twi'lek Jedi enters his office, motioning for her to take a seat as he says, "Please, have a seat, Knight Olgrkru. As a part of his arrangement with President Trauner of the Double Worlds, Detlev had been assured that he would, when not in times of war, be in charge of Tralus' affairs, giving his home world the independence it had fought long and hard for, and so he was somewhat less than pleased to learn that Diktat Gaultieri planned to send a Jedi Watchman to his planet; a move he cannot help but think is a way for the Diktat to keep a close eye on how he goes about leading his planet or to try and influence his decisions given he understands Jedi often counsel leaders. Trying to keep an open mind in case the Jedi Watchman's appointment is nothing more than it appears to be - an added resource for Detlev to use as he sees fit in order to ensure his people are as safe as possible - Detlev says, It's a pleasure to meet you, and I look forward to working with you to see that Tralus remains safe. I've arranged to have an apartment here in the city made available for you to use, and will see that you are introduced to the leaders of CorSec and the CDF as soon as you are settled in. Lacing his hands together on the desk in front of him, Detlev asks, Is there anything else I can do to help you settle into your new role?"

Dia'olgkru sits down when invited to by the Prime Minister, nodding when he says that it is a pleasure to meet her even though she has the sense from his tone and expression that he is not exactly pleased to have her here on Tralus for some reason; probably, she thinks based on the fact he had been selected for his role as a means of pacifying the Liberation Party he was or is a member of, because he is concerned she might pose some threat to his relative independence from the government of the other four member worlds of the Five Worlds.
"For now it is sufficient that I meet with the CorSec and CDF leaders as you said, Dia tells him, adding as subtle way of letting him know that she has no intention of interfering in his affairs any more than he might ask her to, I imagine that I will be spending the majority of my time working with them unless you request my assistance with anything. After exchanging comm frequencies with the Prime Minister and requesting the location of the apartment he had procured for her, Dia says, Unless there is anything else, I will get out of your hair, Prime Minister, and wait to hear from you or the CorSec and CDF leaders."

Trying not to look too pleased that Dia seems as eager to conclude their buisness as he is, Detlev says, "No, no I think that is all for now, and then continues as he passes a datacard and a set of keys across to the Jedi, The datacard will have the location of your apartment and contact information for my office and for CDF and CorSec's senior officers. I will make them aware of your arrival and arrange for you to meet with them soon."
Standing up and doing a perfunctory bow as the Jedi seem to use the gesture in lieu of handshakes, Detlev tries to sound convincing as he says, "It has been a pleasure meeting you, Knight Olgrkru, and I hope you enjoy your time here on Tralus."
