After several months of refit works, council support and crew assignment, One of the largest vessels in the Galactic Republic fleet sat waiting in orbit, attached to a specially constructed docking station. The Outbound Flight II was a masterpiece of engineering and exploration technology, equipped to carry 20,000 passengers from the heart of the Republic to the very outskirts of the galaxy itself, and beyond should they succeed. For now though, the Mighty vessel sat docked, as it awaited it's passengers to board it, while news crews from all over the Galaxy broadcast the interviews and final political ceremonies to christen the vessel and send it forth on it's great mission into the far reaches of space
High above the planet Coruscant, Durnhold stood in the atrium of the large docking station that had been built specifically for the occasion. Hoards of people milled around as they made their way onto the mighty vessel that was the Outbound Flight II, making their way through heavily secure checkpoints, where identification was checked. Durnhold faced the camera as people were guided around the small news group =Durnhold= Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Durnhold of RHBC news coming to you today live from Coruscant, where the final moments of the official launch of the Outbound Flight II are under-way. It has been many years since a daring project such as this was last attempted, with the first Outbound Flight mysteriously disappearing into the depths of the Unknown Regions. But today holds new hope for Republic exploration of this galaxy we all inhabit as the Outbound Flight II rises like a phoenix out of the ashes of it's predecessor. From the moment of it's inception, the small group of Councillors assigned to it's construction reviewed every aspect and detail of the original Flight, analysing it's past failings and working towards combating them. Here to discuss these changes with me is Senator Darek Stormborn, welcome to the show Senator. So would you be kind enough to walk us through the process you undertook in reinventing the Outbound Flight II?
=Senator Darek Stormborn= Thank you, It's a pleasure to be here. When we were first tasked with the Outbound Flight II project, One of the first changes that was made, was the use of a refitted Viscount-class Star Defender over the original clustered design of six Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers around a central fuselage. This made a lot more sense from a couple different angles, financially we spent less buying a single ship and refitting areas of it, and safety wise the Viscount has more weapons and is more manoeuvrable then six ships strapped together...
=Durnhold= Safety was a big concern for your team wasn't it? Especially considering the disappearance of the last Outbound Flight...
=Senator Darek Stormborn= Exactly, Which is on top of a list of reasons that the Outbound Flight II will be accompanied by it's own small fleet, consisting of three classes of new capital ships and several wings of star fighters. This allows the Outbound Flight II to both defend itself and any colonies set up once it breaks free of the galactic edge. In fact the Akbar-class Carrier-Cruiser is currently orbiting just above us. Darek pointed up through the sky light of the atrium, to where the Akbar-class Carrier-Cruiser was currently floating above the docking station. Next to the Viscount-class Star Defender, the Akbar-class Carrier-Cruiser looked like a dwarf, which was no surprise considering 17 Akbars could fit the entire length of the Viscount. The cameraman briefly panned up and then back down to Durnhold and Senator Darek =Durnhold= On the point of security measures, there has been talk among some passengers of an internal security force known as The Five, their goal to protect those on board and ensure the Outbound Flight II continues on its mission. Would you care to comment on them?
=Senator Darek Stormborn= Well I can't really add much more onto what you have already said. They are indeed an elite task force that us Senators have collectively placed our trust in to maintain peace and order aboard the mission. They will be working with all levels of military command to apprehend any criminals and stop potential saboteurs that may get aboard, after all no security system is perfect, which is where The Five come in. It is for this reason their identities will remain undisclosed.
=Durnhold= Understandable. So Senator could you give us a brief overview of the refits regarding the new cabin set ups?
=Senator Darek Stormborn= Of course. As you know, we did some extensive refitting of areas of the Viscount, which included the addition of several more cabin areas where hangar bays once were. The new set up now provides sleeping quarters ranging from a single person up to families of six people. Although this does offer a slightly halved passenger capacity over the original flight, we felt it allowed us a little more breathing space where other costs were concerned.
=Durnhold= Well it appears to have paid off well for you. Well I shan't hold you up any longer Senator, after all I believe there is still much left for you to do before the launch. Thank you for your time.
=Senator Darek Stormborn= And thank you Durnhold. Senator Darek then rejoined his security team as they guided him through the atrium to where he was needed next. Durnhold turned back to the camera as he got word from his producer the Jedi interview was under-way =Durnhold= Ladies and gentlemen, we now cross to Roseline, who is currently with the small group of Jedi who are to accompany the Outbound Flight II on it's mission of exploration.... Roseline smiled at the camera as she stood with the 6 Jedi that were accompanying the Outbound Flight II. They were standing in a clearing near to one of the entrance gates to the Outbound Flight II, a section of the ship's side taking up the entire view port, while guards were off to the side checking boarding information =Roseline= Thank you Durnhold. I am here, on this momentous day, with the ever charming Jedi Master Nathaniel Taylor and Jedi Knights Timothy Drake, Mellina Taradan, Damon Garret, Lilliana Boreas and Jack Knight. It's a pleasure to have you on the show Master Taylor.
=Jedi Master Nathaniel Taylor= It's a pleasure to be here ma'am.
=Roseline= So you're about to join thousands of other colonists as they set forth on a journey out into the galaxy. So how does it feel? After all you may never see your fellow Jedi for many years...
=Jedi Master Nathaniel Taylor= It's an extreme honour to have been chosen by the Jedi Council to go on this mission. It is also an exciting chance to see things we may not have had the chance to see before and to lend a hand towards galactic peace. Whilst there is every chance we may not see our fellow Jedi for many years, we have each other to keep each other company and train against. These 5 Jedi Knights are some of the most respected and strongest Jedi I could ever hope to have along with me.
=Roseline= So I'm sure you are well aware that the original Outbound Flight project was headed by a Jedi back in it's day. Where as this time around, the Jedi have only been brought in on the project as passengers, with very little command over all. What's your view on this?
=Jedi Master Nathaniel Taylor= I think it's been a good idea personally. Sure there are some who would view it as insulting, but this way you get the perspective of far more people working on the idea and there is far less chance someone could exploit this for their own ends. On top of that, we have far more time to relax and ready ourselves for our part of the journey when the Flight arrives to the galaxy's edge.
=Roseline= Well it's been a pleasure talking to you Master Taylor. Back to you Durnhold Durnhold nodded at the camera as it's light went on indicating it's attention was on him again as he now stood near a main stage area that had been set up with the Outbound Flight II visible in a window behind it =Durnhold= Thank you Roseline. Well Ladies and Gentlemen, things are really starting to get moving around here in preparation for the Official Launch Ceremony, which will be starting very soon. We will be right back after this short commercial break.

Zion carefully made his way through the massive crowd that was assembled in the massive docking station, doing his best to not knock anyway over or hurt anyone as he made his way to the docking gate of the Outbound Flight II as specified on his ticket. He was thankful he didn't have to carry any of his luggage, otherwise he would have had a far harder time getting to his gate on time. Crews on the lower levels of the docking station were busily taking care of all the passengers luggage and ensuring it made it aboard the ship, while checking to make sure there was no dangerous goods being brought aboard the ship. Zion finally managed to make his way through the crowd and arrived to his boarding gate and joined the small queue there to board the ship. No matter how many times he saw the Outbound Flight II, its immense size still continued to amaze him. Sure, he had seen some pretty big ships in the past, but there was just something different about the Outbound Flight II that he couldn't quite put his finger on. As he approached the gate, he pulled out his pass and showed it to the security guards, who scanned it and began checking his details to confirm they matched up with the database. It was a very thorough and long process, but one he was sure was necessary for trying to keep the wrong sort of people from getting on =Gate Security Guard #1= Zion Morviael. Priest. Religious Consultant... You're clear.
=Gate Security Guard #2= Welcome aboard the Outbound Flight II Reverend Morviael
=Zion Morviael= Thank you Gentlemen. He nodded to the security guards before moving through the checkpoint and passing through the gate, making his way along the boarding ramp into the ship. As he stepped on board the Outbound Flight II, he paused a moment as he took it all in. People were milling along the corridors as they to boarded the ship and made their way to their cabins to sort out their belongings and to check nothing was missing, while others were checking out the viewing rooms or setting up small shops. Zion smiled as he made his way through the many corridors of the ship to the small chapel and attached apartment he had been given. Although the chapel was small, it was big enough for holding services or consulting people. As for his apartment, it had a bed, closet space and two attached area's, one for a kitchen and one for a bathroom. It was more then he would really ever need space wise. He then turned his attention to his luggage which had arrived before he had, no doubt thanks to what he assumed was a small army of workers, working tirelessly to make sure the Flight departed on time. He began unpacking his stuff while he had the holo projector going in the background with the news on covering the departure

Obadiah finished unpacking the last of the boxes of stock for the first leg of the Flight's journey, after which he would dive into the stock he had sitting in a locker. He turned to the TV as the news crossed to a break, feeling that this trip would be the fresh start he had always been looking for, a chance to start again and embark upon a successful venture with his father's card game.
He glanced down from the TV to the main display case, where on display was the three Whill High Shaman beast cards, of which only one copy of each was ever created, all of which were apart of his champion deck which was also on display in the same case. People from all over the galaxy had tried to defeat his champion deck, but none had ever been successful, no matter in which way they had constructed their decks.
As he returned his attention to the TV, he wondered if anyone on this journey would find a way to defeat him, or even what the competition would be like, given there was a few thousand people on board. He kept watching the TV as various ads were played, advertising various products from people who were sponsoring the live news coverage of the Outbound Flight II launch =Obadiah Traevis= Perhaps I should have paid to get an ad during this coverage...

While others were relaxing and enjoying watching the news coverage of the launch of the Outbound Flight II, Amber was busy crawling through a crawl space, after having had to do some last minute adjustments to the engines. She cursed the refurbishers for having been so careless as to not check all the engine couplings and ensure they were all tightened. Had she not noticed the slight variation in one of the scan readings, the results could have been catastrophically bad. She pulled herself up through the manhole leading to the crawl space, before closing the hatch and heading through the engineering area where other workers were busy maintaining various power and engine systems. She entered the cafeteria area and grabbed a soda from the fridge before sitting on a bench with a couple other engineers and joined them in watching the coverage of the ship's launch

A small group of scientists checked on the bacta suspension tube that Tigress was currently in. They checked on her vitals and noted down the readings, considering the amount of time and money it had cost them to get this far into the project. Cross-species genetic splicing was not cheap, nor was it easy or guaranteed success, but this one had borne fruit and now they were being sent with the Outbound Flight II to complete their project. Once the mission was a little further underway and they were sure their subject was stable, they would release her and begin the next phase of testing

Zacaiah held her helmet under her left arm as she paced the small makeshift backstage area while several monitors showed a mixture of the current ads playing and the 3 camera's covering the main stage. She really didn't like public appearances, especially when it came to having to both protect a high profile target and appear in front of the camera.
She would be much happier once this was over and they were on board the Outbound Flight II, where there was less chance of someone making an attempt on the Admiral's life, especially considering how rigorous a process it was to make the cut. For now though all she could do was hope as she made her way out of the backstage area and followed the Admiral up onto the stage, standing just behind him on his right side

Durnhold nodded to the camera as the red light came back on as the station transitioned from the ad's back to the live coverage as Admiral Jorn Dragonstone, Senator Darek Stormborn, Several other Senator's and a small group of guards made their way up onto the stage =Durnhold= Welcome back to the coverage as the Official Launch Ceremony is now about to take place. Suddenly all camera's were turned on the stage as Senator Darek Stormborn got up from his seat and approached the podium. He placed his notes on the podium as he adjusted the microphone, quickly doing one last mental preparation before he started reading his notes =Senator Darek Stormborn= Citizens of the Republic, Members of the Press, My Fellow Senator's. It is my honour today to act on behalf of my fellow Senator's who have come together to work on this valiant project known as the Outbound Flight II. Much like our predecessors before us in the time of the first Outbound Flight, today we to look to expand the borders of the Republic and seek to learn what life exists beyond the borders of our own galaxy. However where our predecessors failed, we shall stride valiantly into the unknown and make it known. We shall no longer have uncharted sector's of space, for we shall have charted them. This is the Outbound Flight II's mission, to explore the unknown and colonize new worlds. Today I am proud to introduce a good friend of mine and one of the most highly respected Admiral's the Republic has ever known, Admiral Jorn Dragonstone... The crowd applauded as Darek took his seat and Jorn approached the podium as he waved to the people gathered. He scanned the audience as he paused at the podium, quite aware of how much Zacaiah had opposed to him making a speech, but it was part of his duties. Besides he trusted her security protocols enough =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Thank you Senator. Today I feel a great deal of honour as I embark on this mission as Admiral of the Outbound Flight II mission. Today 20,000 colonists, 8,700 soldiers, 75,425 crew members and 6 Jedi will journey beyond the edges of our known Galaxy and go where no man has gone before. Only once in our history has such a mission been attempted, but where they have failed, we shall prevail. The Outbound Flight II is a testament to the strength of the Republic! The Admiral nodded to the crowd, before returning to his seat as Senator Stormborn re-approached the podium, with a group of 8 Senators accompanying him. Darek pulled out a new document and placed it on the podium =Senator Darek Stormborn= And now we shall official christen the ship: By the power invested in us by the Laws of the Republic and backed by the Supreme Chancellor and the Entire Senate, we 9 Senators now official christen this ship, The Outbound Flight II and charge her crew and support ships with the task of exploring the unknown reaches of space and expanding the greatness that is this, the 501st sitting of the Great New Galactic Republic. Admiral Dragonstone then stood up and stepped forward and accepted the document from Senator Stormborn, who'd rolled it up and wrapped the cord around it. With that the formal ceremonies were over, The Admiral exited the stage, followed by his guard and made his way through the docking station and onto The Outbound Flight II. The Senators also made their way off the stage and up into the control room of the docking station to oversee the final stages of the launch. The cameraman panned the camera back down to focus on Durnhold =Durnhold= Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen. The official ceremonies are over and now all that is left is for The Outbound Flight II to break free of the docking station and begin it's maiden voyage which will first take it to Corellia, before moving on to the edge of the galaxy, where the Jedi on board will smooth hyperspace at the edge of the galaxy and allow the fleet to move beyond the confines of our galaxy. We now leave you with coverage of the departure of The Outbound Flight II... The many TV stations then changed their feeds to those of small news ships that were passing around The Outbound Flight II and the Akbar-class Carrier-Cruiser. Meanwhile The Admiral arrived on the bridge of the Outbound as the various crews confirmed their final checks and confirmed it in their systems. The Admiral approached a command area with several holo screens surrounding a central standing position, he checked one of the screens which indicated that all systems were green =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Alright ladies and gentlemen! close exterior hatches and retract all boarding ramps! =Outbound Crew Member #7= Sealing exterior hatches... =Outbound Crew Member #9= Retracting boarding ramps... As the last of the passengers boarded, the bulk heads closed and locked into place, before the boarding ramps were retracted back into the docking station. Both the Crew on the bridge of the Outbound and the crew in the control room of the docking station were silent and tense in anticipation as they went through the final un-docking procedure =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Disengage docking clamps and activate repulsor systems to clear the docking station! =Outbound Crew Member #15= Disengaging docking clamps... =Outbound Crew Member #3= Activating repulsor systems... The docking clamps then disengaged and retracted back slightly from the Outbound, before the repulsor systems on board the ship moved it slowly away from the docking station. The Akbar-class Carrier-Cruiser maintained a distance above the ship and watched the operation happening, the Captain then radioed the bridge of the Outbound flight II =Captain of the Akbar= You're looking good from here. Akbar moving into exit formation. =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Engage main engines and prepare the hyperdrive to make the jump on my mark! =Outbound Crew Member #1= Aye captain! engaging main engines and preparing hyperdrive... =Outbound Crew Member #2= Plotting course to Corellia... The Outbound and Akbar then moved into formation as the engines of the Outbound Flight II moved the behemoth clear of the docking station. The two massive ships then moved to the edge of the planet's gravity well, the various news ships buzzing around the Star Defender class ship like bees. Admiral Dragonstone smiled on board the bridge of the Outbound Flight II =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Alright, let's open her up and see what she can do! The Akbar moved in close to the Outbound as both ships engaged their hyperdrives and made the jump to hyperspace, disappearing in two giant flashes of white light, their next stop: Corellia. Admiral Dragonstone checked the monitors surrounding him to find that everything was operating perfectly, before he opened a ship wide communication =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your Admiral speaking. We have left Coruscant and are now traveling on our way to Corellia. Settle in and enjoy your trip. Admiral Dragonstone then moved out of the command post and moved over to where Zacaiah was waiting. He gave her a quick smile as he approached her =Admiral Jorn Dragonstone= Well I didn't die, and now we are on our way to Corellia. It should be pretty smooth sailing...
