Ares knew that he had a lot to account for; he also knew that people would wonder the whats and whys he left Alisha for so long, but right now his first inclination had been to talk to Alisha and then talk with his siblings. Explain himself, explain everything. He, of course, meant no disrespect to Jena but he had clearly did not want to get into the explaining zone with her when he clearly didn't say anything yet to his siblings. Thankfully for him, Jena did not get into that just yet but he was certain that sooner or later that was going to happen.
"Likewise," Ares replied. He only sad that for the time being considering that he preferred to keep his emotions in check right now and even his expression that was just casual and relaxed. Now Jena's statement, really made him smirk slightly if only briefly, it still made him smirk and he looked at the mess he had caused to begin with before pursing his lips. He should have probably taken care of that before opening the door. It was too late now, but that did not stop him from actually gathering the scattered things on the floor and return those correctly onto Ali's desk before looking at both mother and daughter with a faint sheepish expression.
"I am sorry about that..." Ares started to say and then heard his comlink signaling him that he had a pending comm to listen to, he looked at Jena and Alisha apologetically before glancing at the call log seeing that it was from Ryan. Ares sighed softly and figured that he would listen to that message later when clearly they were done, he guessed, otherwise it would be quite rude.
That aside, he looked seriously at Jena and took a deep breath to control and fix his thoughts correctly. "I... Well, we have something to tell you." He started to say softly as he walked next to Ali and took her left hand with his right looking at her affectionately, and lovingly. Ultimately though his gaze returned to Jena. "I know I should have probably asked for your permission first but..." Sighing softly Ares closed his eyes momentarily before looking back at Jena with a faint smile because he wanted her blessing so to speak, her approval and still perhaps she wouldn't be comfortable with all of that until they talked one on one.
"I have asked Alisha to marry me." Ares finally said as he looked at Ali with a warm and happy smile actually and he let go of her hand to wrap his arm around her to kiss her temple affectionately.

Jena shook her head, chuckling at Ali's reply, before facing Ares again as he spoke with a casual expression on his face before he began picking the items up from the floor and placing them back on the desk. Looking faintly sheepish, he apologized for the stuff being on the floor in the first place but then his comlink beeped. Pursing her lips, Jena watched quietly as he glanced at the message and sighed. Looking to Ali briefly, with a question in her blue eyes, Jena met his gaze as he started to speak again with a seriousness in his eyes.
Jena listened to him as she caught sight of the ring on Ali's left ring finger when Ares took her hand into his own. Arching a delicate eyebrow as she silently studied them both, she knew what he was going to say before he said it but remained silent and let him finish. Folding her arms across her chest once again, she averted her gaze from them momentarily as she let his words sink in. There were a few thoughts running through her mind as to why this was probably a bad idea for them to get married at this point in time but upon seeing the love for one another in their eyes, Jena sighed inwardly.
They were both adults and knew what they wanted. She couldn't, and wouldn't, tell either of them how to live their lives. She could only give her opinions and advice on the matters they approached her with. She couldn't deny the fact that they loved, and were in love with, each other. It was written all over their faces and in their actions towards each other. It always had been ever since Ares and Ali had met on Coruscant several years ago. Jena had seen it even then, though Ali was just a little slower at realizing it, and didn't fully realize it until Ares had came to Honoghr and confessed his feelings for her around three years ago now. Seeing how much Ares cared for her daughter, she couldn't be mad at him. Though they would still be having that little talk later on about his up and leaving without a word to Ali, and probably not even his own family. Jena couldn't be sure if he had contacted his family, or not, but she had a sneaking suspicion that he hadn't.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, Jena smiled warmly at both of them. "I'm truly happy for both you. Congratulations!" She hugged Ali with motherly love then stepped back and leveled her blue eyed gaze on Ares with a hint of teasing and seriousness mixed.
"You have my blessing, chéri. I trust that I don't need to remind you that you will be in deep bantha shit if you hurt my baby girl, right?" The half joking comment wasn't really a threat as Jena would never hurt Ares physically, and she hoped he knew that after all these years - but she wasn't above giving him, or anyone really, a piece of her mind when it came to the welfare of her family members.
Narrowing her eyes for a few seconds, a thought came to her mind as she studied them with a critical eye. " Wait a minute....you two don't have to get married, do you? This isn't a shotgun wedding is it?" The questions weren't serious ones, even if the look on Jena's face was. She knew for a fact that Ares hadn't had any contact with Ali, and Ali had never even looked at another man the way she looked at Ares. She was messing with them again because she knew she would love hearing them try to explain themselves.

Ares smiled when Jena told him that he had her blessing and was happy about what he had just declared, although the fact that he still knew he had many things to explain to her and that maybe she would want more explanations for his disappearance and reappearance he guessed, Ares couldn't get into that now, not when he still had to talk to the people that mattered the most to him. He had already begun with Alisha, and to him Ryan and Crystal were the next in line.
"Oui je le sais..." (Yes, I know) Ares replied to her fluently about how he would be in deep trouble should he ever mess up with Ali, he knew that he had already messed up when he had gone without a warning, and he also knew that he would probably only have this one and only shot for all of this. Nonetheless, Ares was still grateful that he wasn't getting a tongue lash right now from Jena, because that was clearly something he was apprehending now, and that question that followed from her, made his eyes pop wide open to which he clearly replied quickly shaking his head profusely.
"No, not now, whenever Ali wishes it, and I want her to have the kind she has dreamt about, whatever the cost, I do not care, as long as she is happy with it." Ares looked at Ali lovingly, he didn't really care about the wedding logistics, as long as he had his family there, simple and whatever she wanted to do, wherever she wanted it, not really fussy about it as long as by the end of it, he was married to her.
Ares took a deep breath and smiled once again before looking at Jena again, "Excuse me a moment." Ares said as he grabbed his comlink and walked towards the window to listen to that message left to him by Ryan. Ares winced at the words and dialed back just to leave a message to his brother's voicemail. Ryan Solaris, devo parlare con te e Crystal. Vengo a Umgul subito, fratello. Ares left it at that and cut down the communication. Needless to say, he had a serious tone and he was pretty sure that Ryan would understand that this was very serious, and not just airtalk.

Jena simply nodded at Ares' words, rather impressed that he could speak the Cinndao language so fluently now, while mentally giggling at his wide eyed look and shaking of his head when she questioningly teased them about possibility of having to get married. She didn't miss the quick sharp look that Ali had cast her way either. Smiling sweetly at her daughter with a wink, she was about to take her leave when Ares excused himself momentarily and walked over to the window overlooking the hospital grounds, taking his comlink as he did so.
A brief frown of worry graced Jena's features as she heard the seriousness in Ares' voice as he spoke over the comlink. She may not have understood all of it but she could pick out a few words since it was seemingly similar to one of the more rare Cinndao languages. Turning to face Ali, Jena gave her a questioning look as she spoke to her through their mental link in the Force.
"What's really going on, chérie? Is everything truly okay?"

Ali listened to Jena and Ares banter back and forth about the pending nuptials, happy that Jena was keeping her words lighthearted, for now anyway. She did, however, raise an eyebrow giving her mother a sharp glance that silently said, 'Did you really need to ask that?', when Jena jokingly asked if they had to get married. Not missing the wink and sugar sweet smile Jena gave in return, she just shook her head looking back to Ares to see his wide eyed reaction and hear his reply. His initial answer on having children somewhat surprised her though when he stated that it would happen when she wished it to. They had never discussed the subject of having a child/children, and frankly, Ali wasn't sure she was even ready for that event so soon. She was happy that he was open to the idea though, if and when the time came. As far as the wedding went, she had really never thought about anything elaborate as long as they had their families there, wherever "there" may be, to share it with them.
She was brought out of her thoughts by Ares excusing himself and moving over by the window to use his comlink. Catching Jena's brief look of worry, Ali met her gaze when Jena spoke to her through the Force. Catching her lower lip between her teeth, Ali, took a deep breath and let it out again.
"We're going to Umgul as soon as we can. Ares needs to explain to his family, in person, about his disappearance and to pass along important information involving all of them."
Pausing a moment, she folded her arms across her chest, her gaze sliding over to Ares giving him a warm smile before looking back to Jena and continuing through the same mental pathway.
"Everything's fine. This is just something he needs to do. I love him and I want to be there with him, and for him, when he does it."
Stepping forward with a slight smile, Ali wrapped her arms around Jena's neck hugging her close while whispering by her ear. "Don't worry so much, Mom. I'll be okay and I'll contact you often. We'll be back before long and I'll explain everything then, when we know more." She pulled back with a reassuring smile, her hands still on Jena's shoulders. She hadn't told her mother everything Ares had said to her when he first arrived in her office. She didn't want Jena to worry, or worse, lecture Ares on possibly putting Ali and himself in some kind of danger. The less Jena knew right now, at this point in time, the better things would be....

Ares knew that it had been a while since he had last spoken with his siblings and judging from all the messages he had received and finally got, both Ryan and Crystal had been worried about him. It had been his decision to completely be unreachable after finding out a few things, after needing to wrap his mind around all of his issues, his family's issues. Now, he just wasn't sure if he was going to be strong enough to face all of that.
Ares hated to be the bearer of bad news, especially when that reason was the cause of him wanting, needing to go to Umgul. He sighed softly and pocketed his comlink again before looking at both the mother and the daughter with a faint tired smile, it wasn't just the tired kind, maybe the submitted one also, he knew what was in store for him, and half of the things he had just said to Jena a while ago, he wasn't even sure if he could really fulfill all of that for Alisha. He hoped so...
He really did.
Ares stood there, and watched for afar, finally he spoke to them once again. "Did you two need a moment?" Ares inquired genuinely as for all he knew maybe Ali needed to speak with Jena without him around or vice versa, he would gladly erase himself from their view if it was necessary anyways. "I can wait outside." He suggested, after all he still needed to pack and he still definitely was going to make his way to Umgul, asap like he had told his brother. It would be comforting to be able to see his siblings, and not just them but everyone else, his cousins also...

Jena looked skeptical for a moment while Ali silently explained, through their telepathic link, that she and Ares would be traveling to Umgul as soon as possible. The purpose of the trip would be to pass along some important new found information that Ares had discovered during his sabbatical. While Jena took in Ali's words, she realized that there was nothing she could say that would change her daughters mind about following Ares to Umgul to see his family. Ali could be quite stubborn at times, a trait which Jena herself was guilty of more often than not.
Ali had stepped forward wrapping her arms around Jena's neck in a hug while whispering close to Jena's ear. As Ali spoke, Jena slipped her arms around her daughters waist returning the embrace. Ali had told her to not worry so much and that she would contact Jena often while they were away. This drew a small smile from Jena as Ali stepped back a little while keeping her hands on Jena's shoulders. As Jena met Ali's gaze, she had a strong suspicion that Ali hadn't told her everything but decided to remain silent on the matter for now. She knew Ali didn't want her to worry but Jena would always worry about her daughter while she was away. Just like she worried about Ice and Lukas - and like she worried about her son and Ali's fraternal twin, Aaron, whom she hadn't spoken to since Travis' death several years ago now, but she still worried about him even though she knew he was safe on Ralltiir at the moment.
All that aside, Jena decided it was probably best that she didn't call Ali on her omission of a few details. She knew Ali would eventually fill her in on everything when the time was right. Reaching up, she gently patted Ali's cheek with great affection. Smiling, she spoke in a low tone. "Fine, chérie. I'll try not to worry too much about you....but if you insist on taking this trip then ask Ice if she'll go with you. I would go, but I have several critical patients that I want to keep an eye on. Besides Ice needs a break from everything here and this might be good for her and Lukas to just get away for a little while."
Dropping her hand from Ali's cheek, she moved back, folding her arms across her chest as she did so. Tilting her head slightly to the side, she studied Ali for a few seconds before Ares' voice broke through both of their trains of thought. Smiling with a light chuckle, Jena met his gaze. "No, no, Ares. You don't need to go anywhere, chéri. Ali and I were just discussing your upcoming trip to Umgul. I had made the suggestion that perhaps she could ask Ice to go along also, just to get her away from this place for a while. But of course, that is up for both of you to decide. Meanwhile, I need to go check on a couple of patients and update some medical files."
Smiling warmly at both of them, she turned and walked to the door before turning back to face them. "Once again, congratulations. I am sincerely happy for you two. And remember to keep in contact while you're away! I really don't want to have to go to Umgul and track you down because you haven't called." She smiled again, giving them both a wink before walking out with the door swishing closed behind her, and disappearing down the hallway.

Ali chuckled lightly while shaking her head as she watched Jena's retreating form through the doorway until the door closed, effectively shutting off the outside world again. Walking over the the caf machine, she poured a mug then turned turned to face Ares, while leaning a hip against the table with a smile. "That went well. There were no daggers shooting out of her eyes at us. That's always a plus." She said with a teasing grin before taking a sip from the mug as she met his gaze over the rim of the cup.
After swallowing the sip of caf she tilted her head a little to the side looking at him thoughtfully. "I don't have to ask Ice to go with us if you'd rather I not. Though my mother may be right about her needing to get away from this place for a while. Adi's been gone from Honoghr for almost three years, MIA for the last year of that. Ice, with some help from all of us, has been dealing with the day to day planetary business. It might do her some good to get the hell off this rock for a bit." Taking another drink from the mug, she held his gaze with a question in her eyes, awaiting his thoughts on the matter....

Ares inclined his head to acknowledge Jena's words, since both mother and daughter didn't need a moment alone, Ares stayed put and leaned against Alisha's desk while he continued to look at Jena with a grateful smile. "I promise to keep in touch this time." He sincerely said before glancing at Alisha knowingly with a warm smile, he knew that he had a lot to answer for. Something also told him that while he had been leaving that message to his fraternal twin, Jena might have been apprised of a situation, though he couldn't be certain right now, one thing he was definitely certain about right now; no lecture from Jena, yet.
Waiting for Jena to leave, Ares smiled once more when she congratulated both he and Ali for their recent engagement, it was only when Jena had gone that he looked at Alisha when it came to Isis. He pondered about the question, a part of him said that perhaps it was a bad idea to involve Ice in all of his problems, but the biggest part of him said that they should probably ask Ice to come for all of the reasons Alisha had just mentioned. "She does sound like she needs a break from all of her obligations." Ares told Alisha with a knowing smile, but would it really be a break for Ice to involve her in this trip of his? He did not know but perhaps Ice would find some downtime there. He knew that his sister was very approachable and always fair in her dealings also Ice in the end would be Ares' cousin by marriage, right?
So why would he turn his back on family when he always thought that family was forever, it was after all his family's creed, although his own father definitely showed a good example of that. Shaking his head to eject those unwelcome thoughts, Ares finally looked at Alisha with a meaningful expression. "Ask her to come if she wishes it, tell her that it'll be a well deserved holiday for her, while I have to go on about some family business, so..." Shrugging slightly, his problems were his problems, he would face the music with his siblings and also by extension his cousin, as after all his adopted cousin, Atlantis, was dating his sister and his brother was dating his sister's childhood friend. "Although, like I have said earlier, or at least implied, I will have to leave today, will that be okay for you and for her too?"

Even though he was smiling, Ali knew he was worried about his family, himself and anyone else that might be involved in this whole situation. Truth be told, she was worried too and sincerely hoped that none of his fears came to fruition. Moving away from the caf table, she stood in front of him, wrapping her arms around his waist and looking up into his eyes with a smile.
"I'll talk to her and ask then. Also, the ship is already stocked with everything we might need, except any personal item we might want to take with us. We'll be ready by this evening at the latest." Going up on tip toes, she smiled again and placed a lingering kiss on his lips before pulling back to take her comlink out of a pocket of her scrub pants and send a message to Ice....

Ares closed his eyes briefly as he placed his hands onto her waist when she approached him. He was glad that they would be leaving tonight by the latest, provided that Isis indeed did come with them. He did mean it earlier, upon finding out some piece of information from Ali, he was certain that Ali's cousin would welcome this break.
It has been far too long since he had left Honoghr and he was wishing that this was going to be a joyous trip, but the baggage he was dragging behind, that certainly was going to be a tedious talk with his siblings. It wasn't something he was looking forward to doing but he knew that he didn't have the choice.
"Ali," Ares called out softly making a face knowing that she might have been in the middle of contacting Isis, right then and there. "Do I still have some of my stuff back into your apartment, or did you throw those away?" Ares meant nothing by it really and he wasn't going to hold it against her if she did throw his stuff away after so long, the clothes he had been wearing, he had purchased those and he had taken a shower elsewhere that wasn't her apartment at all.

She had already sent a message to Ice, and set the device on the edge of her desk, when Ares had asked if his belongings were still in her apartment. Seeing the look on his face, she smiled with a chuckle as she met his eyes with her own and placed a gentle hand on his chest.
"Yes, chéri, your stuff is still in the apartment. I never threw anything out because I had hoped that you'd find your way back to me again, and you did. Besides....those shirts of yours are quite comfortable to wear after a shower or while just lounging around the house." Grinning, she placed a kiss on his lips when her comlink beeped.
"And that will be Ice...."
Reaching over, she picked up the comlink and listened to the message confirming that Ice and Lukas would indeed be accompanying them to Umgul. Slipping the device into her pocket, she smiled up at him again. "Everything's set. We'll be ready to go in a couple of hours after we get some clothes from the apartment."

Lady Lilith had thanked Betsy, before following the receptionists instructions to find Dr Mercotti's office, quickly making her way from the waiting area, her dress slightly billowing about as she walked. She paused just outside the office door, and gave it a brief knock, before awaiting Dr Mercotti to allow her entrance into the room

Ali had barely made it back to her office, once Betsy commed her and informed her of Lady Lilith, the representative from Thyferra's, arrival. She had only been in her office a few moments before there was a soft knock at the door. Glancing up to the security monitor, she saw that it was Lady Lilith. Pushing a button on the console beside her desk. Ali then stood with a warm smile as the door swooshed open.
"Lady Lilith, I presume? Please, come in and have a seat if you wish. I'm Dr. Alisha Mercotti. It's good to make your acquaintance." Ali bowed respectfully before straightening and giving a small hand motion toward the comfortable chairs in front of her desk.

You presume correct... Lilith returned the bow, before crossing the office from the door, and took a seat in front of Alisha's desk, studying the woman before her before she continued speaking It is a pleasure to meet you Dr. Mercotti. A fine medical establishment you have yourself here. The RDMC is spoken highly of, amongst many circles... A reputation I can see is well deserved...

Ali waited politely for Lilith to take a seat before taking her own behind her desk again. Leaning forward, she folded her hands in front of her and rested them on the smooth wooden surface.
"Thank you, Lady Lilith. We strive to do our best everyday and do what is right by our patients and their families." Giving her guest a brief, but gracious, smile, she continued. "So to what do we owe the pleasure of this visit to today?"

Lilith offered forth a warm smile in response to Alisha's question, before producing a small vial and placing it upon the doctors desk, motioning for Alisha to take it Thyferra has recently undergone a change of regime, with my husband and myself stepping forth to reclaim the world from the corrupt, and breathing into it, new life. As such, our world is vulnerable, especially now with the fall of the Republic meaning that we can no longer rely on their aide should we come under attack. To that end, we are looking to strengthen ties with worlds such as Honoghr, to ensure we remain independent of any one government... Lilith then motioned towards the vial she had handed to Alisha a few moments ago Bacta is an important part of healthcare, and regardless of a persons choices, everyone deserves access to proper medical care, in the hope they can do some good for all. Though, the Bacta that is contained in that vial, is of a higher quality than most that we export, and just a small offering of what could, and will, be coming the RDMCs way. You're more than welcome to test and examine it, keep it for your own needs in case of an emergency. We just want to make sure we have friends if the time should ever come that we need to call upon them...

Ali picked up the offered vial that Lady Lilith had placed on her desk while listening, with interest, what the other woman had to say about Thyferra being vulnerable after the fall of the Republic and could no longer rely on aid from that source. Lilith also spoke about strengthening ties with worlds like Honoghr and finally of the bacta, itself, that Thyferra dealt in. Arching an eyebrow, Ali nodded in understanding as she thoughtfully turned the vial over in her hand. Though she knew it was of excellent quality without Lilith having to tell her, she handed it over to one of the med droids who happened to be delivering some patients holocharts to her office at the moment. With some instructions to take it to the lab for testing, she watched as the droid turned and left the room with an affirmative nod of it's mechanical head.
Turning her attention back to Lilith, Ali had a thoughtful look on her face. The RDMC had a long standing business arrangement with past owners of the once main bacta company, the Zaltin Corporation, an apparent subsidiary of the now defunct VSE, on Thyferra and Ali didn't plan on breaking that arrangement just because a new company had taken over the trade. Smiling, she met Lilith's gaze.
"I can certainly understand the need for aid and alliances. Lady Lilith, and strengthening ties to other worlds. The RDMC has had a long standing tie to the Thyferra bacta trade, close to almost four years now. I would very much like to continue that ideal. You should have past records of our dealings with the Zaltin Corporation to give you an idea of the previous arrangement. If those records aren't available to you on Thyferra then we do have copies of them archived here. Either way, I'm sure we'll be able to reach an amicable agreement....one that will benefit both of our worlds."
Ali paused for a moment as she stood up and walked over to the table where the caf machine sat. After offering a cup to Lady Lilith first, then pouring herself a cup, she continued speaking.
"While I would very much like to offer aid from a military standpoint, I am in no position to do so. You will need to speak with Ice Matango and Rebecca Elios, in the future, about matters such as that since they handle governmental and military roles, respectively. I can, however, offer medical support if, gahd forbid, the need should arise."
Ali paused again, taking a sip from her cup while giving Lilith time to consider the options. While Ali didn't really doubt that Ice or Rebecca wouldn't agree to Lady Lilith's offer, she didn't want to speak for the two leaders. She knew her boundaries, which did not include governmental or military affairs, and wouldn't cross that line unless it was absolutely necessary.

Lilith had indeed reviewed the records regarding the agreement the RDMC had formed with Zaltin. It was one of many companies that had been made independent of its former owners, and had managed to survive all these years. And thanks to the reforms on Thyferra, the company was doing better than ever. She accepted the offered cup of caf, waiting until Alisha was finished speaking as she took a sip of the hot beverage. She gave a smile as she placed the cup upon the surface of the desk, before shifting her right leg over the top of her left and resting her hands upon her knee I assure you, we have no intention of breaking your ties. We merely wish to ensure their strengthening and reward for such loyalty. You would continue to receive your regular shipments, but with a small extra gift, courtesy of the Thyferran government, which would be a small supply of high grade Bacta, for you to stock pile and use for emergency needs. As for talking with Ice Matango and Rebecca Elios, that will come when the time requires it. I just want to be sure that if the need ever arises, we at least have some good will between our two people. So long as that is agreeable to you?
