*Oh, Master Roma wasn't here. Morgan would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't a little disappointed, but that was okay. Terra was here to learn, but had she ever been here before? Morgan hadn't seen her around, but then Terra could have been here when Morgan wasn't, or before she'd lived here. Couldn't hurt to ask, though.* Well, you need any help? I can show you where everything is! *As she spoke, the little black and red tailring had fluttered up and grabbed onto Morgan's shoulder, once more perching himself there. Morgan giggled, kissing his beak before looking back up at Terra.* Oh, and this is Lokay. He's my pet tailring! He wasn't at Tython. *That was when Mark decided to walk up to them. Morgan looked at him and her eyebrows raised as she quickly looked back up at Terra.* Oh, and this is Mark. I just met him today. Mark, this is Terra. She's a Padawan of one of the Masters on Corellia! *... it dawned on her that, with his limited knowledge of the Force and its practitioners, he probably had no idea what any of that meant. She grimaced.* Er, a Padawan is, um someone's student, and a Master is the highest Jedi you can be. Corellia is where one of the Jedi Temples is...

Terra smiled, and just like when Ralph had introduced his pet mini dragon Durind, she found herself wishing she had a little pet of her own when Morgan introduced Lokay. One of these days she would really need to look into that. "Hi Lokay."
She was about to reply when she saw the boy that Morgan had been speaking with earlier walking up, and she gave him a friendly smile. "Hello Mark. It's nice to meet you." He seemed shy, so she did her best to look friendly. She knew shyness all too well, so she wanted to help him feel at ease.

Mark tried to keep track of all the new words he was learning from Morgan, but a lot of them sounded weird to him. He greeted Terra with a smile when she introduced herself. Something puzzled him however.
"Hi Miss Terra. You're a Pada... Padawu... er... student? When I saw you I thought you were a teacher."
Mark asked with an innocently puzzled look on his face. He didn't realize that Jedi most often remained padawans until their early adulthood. Then he opened his eyes wide in surprise, as though he had forgotten his manners.
"Oh! Er, it's nice to meet you too!"
He replied with a smile.

*Morgan smiled as Terra said hi to Lokay and turned to look at the tailring, who proceeded to only eye the stranger curiously. Morgan giggled, then looked between Terra and Mark as the two spoke. Well, it was mostly Mark who spoke, stumbling over his words, unsure how to pronounce "Padawan," stating that he thought Terra was one of the teachers, then saying it was nice to meet Terra. That out of the way, Morgan thought it was time for business.* Is there anywhere I can show you? Maybe I can help show you around? Mark's new here too, so I was gonna show him around too. Maybe you can come with us? *Wow, if Terra came with, Morgan would be helping show two people around, instead of one. She almost felt a little proud on the inside but quickly contained that; Terra hadn't said "yes" yet, after all.*

Terra smiled, guessing that Mark was new to the Jedi if he wasn't sure how to say Padawan yet. As for being mistaken for a teacher, Terra was pretty far off from being qualified to teach anyone, at least in her opinion. Still, if Mark was indeed a stranger to the ways of the Jedi, then he could be forgiven for thinking that, and it wasn't all that long ago when Terra had been seeing the Jedi way of life for the first time.
She smiled at Morgan and nodded. "Sure. Lead on."

Mark smiled. For a minute there he was afraid he had been rude. He looked over to Terra and Morgan as they spoke, and then smiled when Terra told Morgan to "Lead On". Mark hadn't seen much of the base besides the medical facilities, which he wasn't exactly looking forward to going back into, but he was, however, excited to see the rest of the base. He stood, ready to follow Morgan's lead.

*When both of them seemed ready to move on, Morgan beamed. She turned around, hitched up her backpack, then gestured for them to follow her, before marching off into the base.*

He'd been reduced to burning muscles and ragged breathing as he dropped to one knee at the beginnings of the path that led to the temple's front courtyard. He didn't know how far he'd traveled through the jungle to get here, or even the duration of the trek. He'd lost track of the time as he ran, but it couldn't have been too long as the black of night still reigned the skies. Forcing himself to stand, the sweat soaked and muddied young man forged on. This time he walked.

A dilapidated freighter hobbled out from the Hangar and out across the courtyard. Inside, its pilot tried her best to keep the blessed vehicle flying while she was having a serious argument with her...power wrench. No there’s really no polite way to say it. She is indeed having a very articulate, thought out argument with a completely inanimate object.
??No no no no, I’ve said it already! C’mon you heard them!?? She gestures animatedly at it with one hand while she kept her other hand on the steering yoke, but she wasn’t doing too good a job at flying and looking over at the offending power wrench lying in the co-pilot’s chair. ??It’s all too much, and they expect way too much, so NO! I’m not going back! And that’s final! What...? Because I said so! So there!??
One of the engines of the ship suddenly bursts and gives out and Celina screams, ??Ohmygawdwe’regonnadiewe’regonnadie! There’s a man down there LOOK OUT! MOVE OUTTA DA WAY!!!??
The ship keels forward on its unusually bent-in nose cone which is about six feet deep with about a three to four feet diameter space. Why is it so important to know this size and dimension, because the ship drops right on top of this Mathym fellow with all due prejudice.
WHUMP!
Celina clings desperately to the steering yoke of the now grounded ship.
??OhGodohGodohGod...I killed him! What? What do you mean don’t freak out?!??? She yells at her power wrench, ??I landed on that poor sap how can I not freak out?!???

He squinted his eyes at the oncoming freighter. The flying scrapheap seemingly came out of nowhere and was now headed his way. He swore beneath his breath as he rested his hands on his knees, attempting to catch his breath still, from the long trek. Eyes darting left and right, there was enough time and room for him to jump out of the ship's path. Alright, here he went. The young man remained still. Right about now. Still he was rooted to the spot. Turning towards the ship that was now barreling down towards him he gulped. His body had completely locked and he was unable to move due to the prolonged stress to his muscles. He couldn't help but laugh a tired laugh at the incredulity of the situation and he resigned himself to closing his eyes and passing out on the spot just as the unusually bent-in, man-sized nose cone encased him.

She jumps out of the freighter, holding on to the power wrench, ??Do you see any blood??? She asks her power wrench. ??I don’t see any blood...maybe there wasn’t enough left and it scattered across the whole...eww, gross, don’t want to think about that. Hmm? What??? She brings the wrench closer to her ear and tilts her head sideways a little, as if listening to it.
??Oh right!?? She angles her hand at her ship, and using the all-powerful Force, she lifts her freighter off the ground, because really, it’ll take forever to wait for a tug boat to pull the ship back to the hangar, and there he is, unconscious, but alive. What a lucky guy.
??Oh he’s alive!?? She smiles excitedly. Using the Force she lifts him off the ground and quickly trots off to the medical facility to have him looked at. Forgetting that she is still holding up the freighter about twenty feet off the ground she lets go and the ship crashes back down again, suffering more damage.

Von walked into the courtyard of the Jedi base, this all seemed different and new to him. The atmosphere was obviously different from the feeling he got from his planet, but as far the feeling it was clean and pure he was unsure what he would expect here but curiosity was something that was pulling him in. He had not taken a bath for some time so the hard dirt caked his skin and his hair was in knots along with a clearly potent stench. The smell didn't bother him much because he never had to worry about what others thought of him. His sword hung from his back along with his dagger at his waist. Looking around Von began to make his way further into the base.

Kulaan slowed down when she neared the courtyard from her tree climbing exercise. Something seemed off from normal and it seemed to be coming from the dining hall. Despite the normal climate of Felucia. there was a certain chill. It reminded her of the day that she arrived several years ago when she was only 8.
She had hung back in the hangar becoming separated from the group she arrived with. She was quickly discovered and was going to be regrouped, but the person leading her wanted to make a quick side trip to the infirmaries. Soon after their arrival chaos had broken out. Having just arrived she had no idea what was going on. It hadn't been directly explained what had happened but through her lessons at the base she was convinced it was something to do with the dark side of the force. It was not something that was directly exposed to the students. But regardless she still remembered the chill.
She stopped walking for a moment. Why would they all of a sudden let someone like this walk into the base. It didn't make sense. Something told her that this darkness wasn't quite as deep as her previous experience. And this one was surround by people from the base. She took a couple more steps then stopped again. It was moving and being followed. She entered into the lobby to watch a tall man march out towards the training halls and sparring area. She could tell that this was the source. But from the lack of conflict, for the man wasn't pursued but followed she was uncertain as to what was going on.
She was curious but didn't want to interfere as for now things seemed to be under control. She instead headed of to her dorm room as she hadn't taken her training saber with her. If anything was going to happen she figured it would be best if she was ready for it.

*Seeing as the rest of his family were out in the base, training or studying or whatever it was they decided to occupy their time with, Aerandir had some free time along with his five-month-old daughter. Normally, said free time was preferably spent asleep, but that was only if little Lucina allowed him to: Meaning, she too had to have been asleep. But she was awake now, so instead of stay cooped up in the quarters, hoping she'd fall asleep so he could catch up on some shuteye as well, he decided to bring her out into the base.
She still hadn't been far outside the walls yet, into the jungle... he knew Morgan was dying to take her baby sister around with her, but regardless of her connection and powers, he wasn't ready to let Lucy go out alone with Morgan just yet. Rather, he didn't feel Lucy was ready yet, nor Morgan for that matter. But the gardens often sufficed, and Lucy seemed happy to be around the plants and grass and natural surroundings.
He'd taken her to the courtyard today instead, where it was grassy and peaceful, and had a view of the jungle beyond. He sat on the edge of the fountain with her; she was done up in a simple onesie, so he held her up over the water, letting her kick her feet and giggle. So far, she sure seemed to like nature and water... She was taking after Morgan in that regard. Hopefully those were all the similarities his youngest daughter would share with his oldest...
He frowned for a moment, thinking of Morgan and the rot in the jungle. It was an ugly blemish, felt by any who would simply reach out with the Force; Morgan had felt it first of course, and the effects must have been even more severe in her own mind. They had people researching it, attempting to determine a cause, an identification, and, most importantly, a cure. Even if the cure was destroying it outright... they could replant. But all the same, Aerandir would prefer eradicating the disease at its core...
... was that Morgan approaching now?*

*Once back in the base proper, Morgan at first ran through the halls toward the courtyard, then she slowed down once she remembered she was supposed to be leading Master Gannor; he could easily keep up with her, yes, but she decided to simply keep up a brisk walk, her bare feet padding upon the stone floors of the hallways.
Once she rounded the corner into the courtyard, she spotted her daddy quickly, sitting upon the fountain, letting Lucy play in the water. Morgan wasted no time in jogging over to him, calling out,* "Daddy! We have news!" *She sat up next to him, smiling at baby Lucy, whose hazel eyes took note of her big sister and she beamed and giggled, her hands shaking excitedly. Morgan's smile grew wider as she said,* "Hi Lucy!" *and leaned forward to kiss her pudgy cheek before looking back up at her daddy.*
"Daddy," *she began, expression suddenly much more serious,* "I watched Doctor Molan—" *She briefly turned toward Master Gannor...* "He is a doctor, right?" *... then refocused upon her daddy.* "—do some tests and stuff on what they found out there, the nasty stuff in the jungle, and it's gotta be Yuuzhan Vong stuff! I... um..." *Shoot. She was no good at these explanations that involved complex wording and reasoning. Michelle would have been able to recite it all easily, she knew...
Blushing a little, she looked back up at Master Gannor a little sheepishly.* "You should probably tell him instead of me, you know what to say better..." *She almost expected him to deflect the duty back onto her, seeing as that was a trait many teachers tended to do in her experience. But she hoped he didn't, simply because she wished for the explanation to come as quick as possible, as well as the next step to be taken quickly...*

Chalco's tolerant smile was the picture of Jedi patience as he stood with arms folded into the opposite sleeves of his green and beige attire, his eyes glinting emerald fire in the afternoon sun. With his topknot stirring slightly in the faint breeze, matching a similar tug at the hem of his robes, he cast a serene air about him so at odds with the concern that had mounted in him over the last few days. The discoveries and subsequent speculation as to the nature of the corruption eating into the wildlife near the Rancor Graveyard had been trying to say the least and, as he stood in the fresh air watching the small children interact with their father and each other, it was a blessing to be remained truly of the wondrous bounty the Living Force offered.
His smile never left him as he turned his attention to Aerandir but there was something added to the look in his eyes; a granting of respect perhaps. A accession of one considering another his peer at the very least. Indeed he had great respect for Aerandir Calmcacil and all he had done here, finding the man to be a sharp thinker and consummate Jedi. That he was a loving father and impassioned family man was also to the man's favour, in the tall Falleens mind, knowing that the path of the Jedi and that of the family were not often kind and compatible.
"Indeed Morgan, though your passion does much to highlight the urgency of this matter..."
He paused for a moment, as if rallying his thoughts. He knew Master Calmcacil to be relatively up to date on this matter, having followed it with intense interest since its formation, so he skipped over the intricacies of how they got to where they were today.
"The substance still defies identification and has resisted all attempts to pacify it by conventional means. Its virulence is, thankfully, rather slow at the moment and the infection rate seems to be a matter of physical contact rather than any airborne transmission. Unfortunately Doctor Molan..."
He stressed the honorific and flashed a nod at Morgan, an assurance that she had got the designation right.
"... believes that this may change very soon as the substance seems to mutate as needed when encountering a different kind of environment. It is this mutation, he asserts, that is responsible for the infected Spore Plants now ejecting infected spores into the air. It is only prudent to assume that this mutation could very well be the start of a more widespread airborne contagion.
His voice was now grim and his expression obviously concerned. He glanced at Morgan before flashing an apologetic look to Aerandir. This was information that the small girl did not know and, if she were fully following the conversation and terms therein, may become rather upset at such an eventuality. His vow from earlier came to mind; that he would not lie or sugarcoat the truth for her, and wondered if such a thing was really his call to make...
He shrugged the concern off for now and concluded...
"It is indeed the scientists belief that the substance is of Yuuzhan Vong origin and therefore alien to him and his techniques."
He left it there for now, allowing the other Jedi to assimilate the information and draw his own conclusions without any influences from Chalco's own reviewed opinions. The Force had remained frustratingly silent on the matter to him and Chalco wondered if any insight would grace Aerandir in his deliberations.

*Indeed it was Morgan, approaching with urgency as she called out to him, saying she had news. He looked up from Lucy to see her approaching, though she was not alone.
Chalco Gannor, Falleen Jedi Master, formerly of Yavin IV. He had taught Jake, in fact. He was one of the lead researchers of this blight upon the world, along with the Ithorian, Doctor Molan. It had been only a matter of time before Morgan somehow got involved with their research as well, though Aerandir trusted she would stay out of the way unless asked.
He inclined his head in a greeting to the Falleen before returning his gaze to his oldest daughter, who, after enthusiastically greeting her baby sister, confirmed she had been watching the research and stated her belief that the substance was of Yuuzhan Vong origin. Aerandir's eyebrows flickered upward briefly, though Morgan herself didn't seem confident enough to explain her reasoning and asked Master Gannor to do so instead.
Lucina squirmed, seemingly wanting to see her sister, so he lifted her out of the fountain and onto Morgan's lap. Once he was sure the older girl had her securely, he gave his full attention to Master Gannor, who began to explain their findings so far. It defied identification, was alien to all their known techniques, and was mutating... potentially to an airborne strain. This certainly wasn't good at all, and was starting to give him nasty recollections of the strain that caused the Plague War...*
"Well we better work fast, then," *he answered simply.* "Do you have a recommended course of action already?" *Aerandir could only think of two options: Attempt to locate and coax a Shaper to aid them, perhaps even with some sort of trade, or purge the area entirely. However, the latter could be risky; perhaps destruction would only cause the mutation to spread further, and then they'd have an even bigger problem...*

*Morgan recognized when the baby was eager to see her sister, and fortunately her daddy was handing her to Morgan. Morgan beamed and held her sister on her lap, spouting a little baby talk at her, not at all minding the wet spots on her Felucian dress caused by her wet little feet.
While Lucina bounced and giggled and reached for Morgan's face, Morgan did her best to follow Master Gannor's explanation. The bit about a potential airborne mutation, however, made her smile vanish and her eyes widen with alarm. This stuff could spread through the air?! No way could that be allowed to happen! What if she had it already?! No, no... she would certainly feel it if she did. She definitely knew her mommy would, and if the world felt it, She would make it known to Morgan immediately... and possibly become incredibly angry with the substance.
Concerned babbling came from the infant in her lap before she felt her cheeks being smacked by fat baby palms.* "Ah!" *she gasped softly, looking down at the baby staring at her intently. Morgan's shock was obvious enough on the outside, but Lucy was also a Force-sensitive baby; obviously she could feel her emotions as well, and had reacted to that, not wanting her bigger sister to be upset.
Morgan smiled and took the infant's hands, mostly to keep them off of her face, and kissed her on the head; satisfied, the baby grinned again while Morgan kept an ear on the conversation. Her daddy seemed to agree that they needed to work fast to contain the contamination, but then again, with news like that, who wouldn't think that?! When he asked what potential courses of action to take, Morgan offered,* "I think we should try to get a Yuuzhan Vong to help us... if any of them will..." *Then she looked to Master Gannor, hoping he had a better, or at least more thorough, suggestion.*

The tall Falleen moved to the fountain, seating himself on the edge of the little wall surrounding it a few feet around from where Aerandir was positioned. Lowering his right hand he ran his fingers through the water as Morgan entertained her little sister. The reptilian aliens mouth twitched into a smile as the siblings interacted, marvelling at the bond they shared not only as sisters but through the Force too. He had met a few Force sensitive siblings but not many displayed the empathy and unity the Calmcacil children did. Only in twins had he seen such closeness and even then that was limited to the two. Jake, Morgan and the newest child all seemed to have a sharing of thought that ran as deep as any meld, especially here on Felucia.
He was looking forward to teaching Lucy in time and perhaps even help them develop their natural bond with each other into something truly wonderful. He had little doubt that their father would want the same for them.
His sigh was heavy as he pondered Aerandirs words, eyes drifting over to Morgan and seeming to contain a slight hint of apology at what he was about to say.
"Prudence would dictate a cleansing of the area. If there is a risk of this agent going airborne then we should seek to prevent further loss. Though how big an area we would need to destroy would be guesswork..."
He lowered his eyes and the pain he felt in such a scenario pulsed morbidly through the Force.
"We'd have to err on the side of caution and likely clear a larger area than is infected, more than we'd like...
He paused for a moment and looked down at the water he was running his fingers through. So pure. The giver of life. While the suggested action was distasteful surely it was necessary to preserve all this? His eyes rose from the water to look again at Morgan and Lucy. To preserve them? Finally the emerald gave rose to Aerandir. What would he do to preserve them?
"Molan requests more time to study and to be allowed to test the substance of living tissue before he can accurately advise on a course of action, or on how much area need be cleansed, or indeed on whether such a cleansing will be effective..."
He finally nodded at Morgans words, acknowledging her preferred course of action.
"And yes, there is a chance this infection could be undone by a Yuuzhan Vong shaper but how to find one is a rather perplexing question."
His eyes found Aerandirs again, narrowing in question.
"If we have any data on those involved in the Ossus project...?"
He knew there were no such records in the archives but the whole escapade was so sheathed in mystery at the time that perhaps only scattered records survived. Many of them were likely destroyed by the Sith who, in Chalco's and most Jedi's opinions at least, had been responsible for the restoration going wrong. Still if any such details were known or existed it was likely that Aerandir, as a former member of the high Council, would know...

*Aerandir only removed his gaze from Chalco for a brief moment when he heard Morgan's gasp, only to see that Lucy was demanding, in her own way, that her big sister cheer up. He smiled, glad of his young daughter's precocious desire to cheer up those she cared for; what's more, it seemed to work, for Morgan smiled again and entertained the baby, while still managing to keep her attention on the conversation.
She was also the first to respond, expressing her desire to seek Yuuzhan Vong aid, Shapers, though she was quick to express doubt whether any would. He nodded and focused upon Chalco, expecting him to elaborate or offer alternative suggestions. After a sigh, the Falleen revealed the most prudent course of action, the expected one: Cleanse the area. But not just the infected area, but a larger area, something he clearly did not want to resort to, something he let known both visibly and through the Force.
Aerandir expected this and immediately placed his palm on Morgan's back, rubbing a circle affectionately, reassuringly. He knew there were potential other routes, but he also knew the mere suggestion of destruction of any part of Felucia wouldn't sit well with her. Chalco went on to explain that Doctor Molan wanted more time to research the substance to determine whether such cleansing was advised or would be effective, which at least bought them some time, though the notion of testing on living tissue didn't sit well with him at all; and that was completely for Morgan's sake.
But Chalco even agreed seeking the aid of a Shaper was a viable option, though admitted his uncertainty on how to find them. He did, however, suggest perhaps they could seek records of the Ossus Project and attempt to locate any involved with the project... That doomed project that had to have been sabotaged. Aerandir clicked his tongue.*
"It's possible," *he admitted, knitting his brows and bringing his fist up to his upper lip,* "but how likely, I'm not sure. Personally I feel like we'd have more luck scanning the HoloNet for Yuuzhan Vong sightings and pursue that link. Or try to send out some kind of call for aid, if any would even pick up on it or even answer. We'll figure something out." *He lowered his fist and looked up at Chalco, brows still knit.* "Doctor Molan shares similar concerns regarding a purge, whether or not that would even work... or possibly make things worse. Not entirely sure I approve of tests on living tissue, even if it's something small like clippings, but if we get desperate..." *He slowly turned his gaze towards Morgan, steady and leveled; concerned, but firm.* "... we may have to allow that if we're going to keep the entire world safe."
*Morgan wouldn't like that suggestion in the slightest, he knew, but she also had to understand that potentially, they may have to make some sacrifices if they wanted to save Felucia.
And they did.*
"But until that time," *he continued, looking to the Falleen again,* "we have time to pursue a potentially simpler, cleaner solution."
