Naan looked around and saw the HV-7 that Mary was on. The Tusken girl was too terrified to wave back, as she gripped the controls tighter, trying to straighten the ship out. She exhaled slowly and pulled up farther on the controls, and the pod lifted higher. Naan watched Mary and slowly tilted the pod in that direction. The pod was moving at a snail's pace, as Naan was too scared to move any faster for she might wreck the pod. She kept thinking about all the times she had failed the simulation, all the times the screens went dark, only to reset. Except this time it would not reset if she made a mistake.
-Naan in Tusken- "I don't think I can do this. I can't do this. I want to stop."
Despite her words Naan was too terrified to try and land the pod back down, and kept the ship heading behind Mary and her HV-7.

Despite her words, Naan seemed to be doing fairly well. Much better than Mary's first flight which had gouged a chunk out of the wall. Slowly directing the Pod, it was almost in place for the droids to pull it the last bit.
-Mary You are doing fine. Look you are almost done.

Naan closed her eyes for a few moments, trying to get a hold of herself. Her heart was pounding in her chest like machine gun fire, and underneath her gloves her pale skin was even whiter from clenching the controls so tightly. Her left hand stung as the pressure irritated the recent wound that had been self-inflicted to it. Naan opened her eyes to see how much she was left. She said a prayer aloud to help calm herself down.
-Naan in Tusken- "Suns guide my hands and keep them steady."
Naan brought the pod closer until finally the droids could grab hold of it.
-Naan in Tusken- "D-did I do it? Is it over?!"

Mary watched as the Pod inched the last few metres into position. Sending the signal to the droids, the Pod was quickly pulled down into the slot in the large main yacht body. Within a few moments, the clamps had all been realigned & locked into place. That was one last system to worry about. However it was a disturbing trend. Apparently the yacht had been put together too quickly, & most of the systems seemed one hard kick about from shorting out or failing. With everything else going on, Mary would just have to fix everything as it became a problem. Luckily a droids were good enough that once a system was repaired, general maintenance should keep it from becoming a problem again. A few commands into her mask powered down the replusors on the Pod, allowing Naan to relax. It would have been much easier if there was an autopilot on the Pod or if she could pilot it from her mask. Maybe something to look into later.
-Mary Good job, Naan. You did it. Come back on up & we can get some celebratory ice cream.

Naan climbed quickly out of the pod's cockpit, her hands trembling. She tried to slow her breathing but was having a little trouble. She paused as she talked, still trying to catch her breath.
-Naan in Tusken- "What's....ice....cream?"
Naan hobbled back to her room and opened the doors. Shuffling through all the scattered belongings she picked up her stuffed bantha doll and hugged it closely for comfort. She left her room, walking around to try and find Mary, bantha doll held closely to her chest. She called out, trying to locate her friend.
-Naan in Tusken- "Mary?"

Doing a final lap around the yacht to make sure everything is in order, Mary directed the HV toward the boarding ramp to pick up Naan. Stopping at the base of the ramp, Mary looked up at Naan.
-Mary Step on board & I will show you what ice cream is.

Naan hesitated, as she put out her hand to grab onto the side of the hover droid.
-Naan in Tusken- "As long as I don't have to fly it...."
Naan huffed as she climbed onto the flat surface of the hoverdroid. Once she got aboard the small girl held out her arms for better balance as the droid took off. Naan wobbled around a bit before finally grabbing onto Mary's robes, keeping close to her.
-Naan in Tusken- "Why didn't we just walk?"

Mary had often done this at her last job, despite technically being against the rules. It allow for a much better view of the area she was directing droids in, as well as increasing her speed & keeping her out of the way. It was also a load of fun.
-Mary Why walk when you can fly?
it wasn't but a few minutes later than the pair returned with a pair of ice cream cones. They would have stayed in the mess hall, but it was too crowded for Mary's taste. Sitting on the edge of the boarding ramp, Mary dismissed the HV back into the ship to recharge. Grabbing her mask, Mary carefully disengaged the holding mechanism. Setting it down beside her, she quickly rubbed her face, dark red splotches marking the mask's contact grips. She might have been average looking once, but that was in the past. A brutal scar ran from her right eye all the way to her opposite jaw. The wound had healed unevenly & had obviously gotten infected as pock marks radiated out from the injury. She was obviously missing at least three teeth from the injury & a few of the muscles on the right side of her face hung unresponsive to the rest of her face.

Naan held the cone of ice cream before her and stared at it in confusion. Even through her glove she could feel the freezing sting of the cold that emanated from the snack before her. Naan looked to Mary for instructions on what to do with this substance. She did not react negatively to Mary's appearance. In fact she seemed to be in awe of the scar. In her mind Naan was imagining the great battle Mary have fought to acquire such a trophy. Scars to Tuskens were like trophies from battles, so long as they did not show them openly.
Naan watched as Mary licked the substance inside the cone, the Tusken tilting her head as she did so. She brought the cone towards her mask and sniffed it, trying to get a whiff of the ice cream through her mask. It didn't really smell like anything to her. The girl tucked her head down inside her mask and opened a small space to stick her hand inside and licked the ice cream cone. Naan visibly shivered, but she enjoyed the taste. She took a large bite from the cone and started talking with her mouth full.
-Naan in Tusken- "It'sho corld! But itshweet? Thisshis ishescream?"

Mary nods as the girl gets her first taste of ice cream.
-Mary Yes, it is nearly frozen milk. When you stir it as it freezes it turns into ice cream.
Once they finished their snacks, Mary had plans to take the yacht itself back to the town they had been before in order to get it stocked & furnished. Luckily that had already been included in the price she owed, so he didn't have to worry about over spending. On the other hand, having money left over might prove useful down the line. Certainly something to think about once they were back in town.

-Naan in Tusken- "Frozen Milk? But it isn't blue....Mine is brown, and yours is white. Is it spoiled?"
Naan held the rest of the cone up at Mary to get her point across. It was obvious the girl had never heard or chocolate or vanilla. Naan sniffed the ice cream again. It didn't smell like spoiled milk. Maybe they hid the smell somehow? Naan suddenly did not have much trust in Outsider food. Still, it was very delicious, and she could not stop eating it. Even if it made her sick she hoped she could bring some home. It did not occur once to her that the ice cream would melt almost immediately from the heat of the Suns of her home planet.
-Naan in Tusken- "Outsiders have really weird food..."
Naan quickly ate the rest of her ice cream cone and stood up. She put her hand on her head. She had a painful headache all of a sudden. Still, she shook it off and looked to Mary, hopping up and down in excitement.
-Naan in Tusken- "Well what're we going to do now? Can we finally go see the stars?!"

-Mary It isn't spoiled they just add things to it to change the colour & taste. Now we are going to go shopping.
Returning the mask to her face with a painful sounding hiss-pop, Mary issued the proper commands to get the Tempest warmed up & ready to fly. Off to one side of the two on the boarding ramp, the massive engines of the ship thrummed to life. Making her way up the ramp, Mary waited for Naan & then shut the door behind them. It didn't take long to reach the cockpit, but the ship was nearly ready to lift off by the time they arrived anyway. There the GD16 & the OOM where going through the last steps on the check list.
-Mary Take us out & head to the capital. We have shopping to do.
-OOM Roger, Roger.
The engines slowly rose in pitch as the yacht began to lift off the ground. Then there was a loud clank as the ship settled roughly back to the ground & a whine echoed through the hull.
-OOM Error detected.
Mary gave the droid a whithering look, which it didn't see due to her mask. Luckily for the droid, Mary already was looking things over in the engine room on her HUD. The BAF droid had it well under control. It looked like one of the power struts had managed to pull itself loose. Mary did however glance over as her young mechanic friend.
-Mary Want to go help our BAF droid in the middle engine well? You can start learning about the ship's engines.

Naan picked up her Bantha doll that she had left on the ramp and walked behind Mary, stretching her arms behind her head. She was feeling jittery already from the sugar, as being Tusken raised she was not used to it. She squeezed her bantha doll close to her chest again and began to hop foot to foot behind Mary, balancing on each one as she hopped along.
-Naan in Tusken- "Shopping? That's when Outsiders spend money, right? What are we going to shop for? Can I bring my gaderffii this time?"
Naan stood behind Mary as the older woman sat down in a chair and waited to watch the take-off of the Tempest from the inside. She held her breath as the ship lifted up, but let it go when something seemed to go wrong and the ship went back down. Naan put her hand to her mask in confusion. Naan stood rigid as Mary instructed her to aid the repair droid in the engine room. Naan handed Mary her bantha doll and ran off to grab her tools from her room.
Naan had grabbed her tool case and put it on her back as she ran back to the engine room, jingling as she ran. Naan walked into the engine room and looked over everything, trying to find the problem. Spotting the droid, she could see it was working on one of the power struts, and was attempting to realign it. Naan took a closer look and found the control panel for the coupling and pressed one of the buttons. The coupling retracted into the engine, allowing room for Naan and the BAF droid to put it back into place. The droid held the strut while Naan re initiated the coupling, which fit perfectly back onto the end of the strut, and locked into place.
Naan patted the droid on its side as far up as she could reach in appreciation. She also rubbed her shoulder, which was hurting from the recent blaster injury.
-Naan in Tusken- "Good job!"
Naan, realizing she had not needed her tools, ran back to her room, dropping off her tool sack back in the still messy pile of things, and then back to the cockpit to Mary. Naan took a moment to catch her breath before speaking.
-Naan in Tusken- "Try it now."

-Mary It is indeed. We need food & water for the ship. We need to stock up the Medical Bay. We also need furniture. Once we have all of that, I'm hoping to get some supplies for the workshop.
Mary watched Naan helping to fix the engine on the HUD from the cockpit. It seems she was going to be useful after all. Mary remained standing behind one of the seats. It wasn't that far of a trip & she had this lingering mental image from fiction about how a proper captain was always standing on the bridge looking epic. As Naan arrived back at the cockpit, the engines roared once more to life. Building in pitch until the pushes the large yacht lifted slowly into the air. Mary spared one last glance at the salvage stall. The Tempest wouldn't be returning here again. On there next arrival they would be assigned one of the stalls closer to the Temple intended for regular use. The droids piloting the yacht however wasted no time on nostalgia & the craft was shortly building speed toward Kway Teow.

There is a west entrance to the Hangar leading to the Jedi Temple, she transmitted quickly, bypassing her audio circuit to send the message directly. There are several droids waiting near that entrance. Ignore the children and talk to the one with the cannon.Leigh deactivated the transmitter...then on a whim activated it momentarily to send one last message. I have been waiting. Do not make me wait longer. Oh, I wouldn't dream of it. Heading west now, won't be long.Malora raised an eyebrow at Wade as she switched the commlink on her wrist off, rolling her eyes a little. "Great. Kids, cannons, and droids with sticks up their butts. I guess this is where the fun begins," she drawled, a forced grin on her face. "C'mon." The pair locked the ramp and hurried for the west entrance. It wasn't hard to spot the strange little band of 'beings'. "Let me do the talking, 'kay?" she mumbled out of the corner of her mouth at Wade as they approached. Hooking her left thumb on her belt, Mal put on an open, easy expression and gestured towards the tallest of the bunch as she stepped forward. She wasn't smiling, but there was nothing hostile about her demeanor, and a hint of a smile hugged the left corner of her mouth. "Person with the cannon." It wasn't a question. The smuggler gave a lazy mock salute. "Name's Malora, this is my second, Connors," she said, tilting her head at Wade, "and my R2 unit is waiting in the wings. Sorry for the delay. Planetary Control is…thorough."She shot the 'children' a slightly squeamish glance, never did like the little things, but tried to smile at them in a friendly manner. "Are these..uh, yours? Or.." Mal waved her own words off-stage. "Never mind. Down to business?" Malora shifted her focus back to the cannon-toting droid running the show. Except she (that's some mighty fine female programming) wasn't toting anything, the cannon was actually her whole arm, and there was something about the way her armor shaped her form, as clunky as the shoulder pieces and upper chest were. Beautiful design, but powerful and thoughtful; Mal tried not to stare. Admiring your boss's wicked awesome suit from afar was okay after maybe a few weeks on the job, but first meet-and-greet? Not so much. There'd be time for observations later. First, mission details. She trained her eyes on the droids dome, watched it flicker once. "You wanna hash this out here, or you got somewhere else in mind?"

*Hezziah piloted his silver scout into the nearest landing pad and looked around at the busy hangar around him. For a Jedi Temple, this place didn't exemplify the tranquil setting that he would have originally thought of it as. After exiting the ship and walking down the landing ramp, he leaned up against his ship and let out a sigh trying to calm his nerves. He had never even met a Jedi before, much less be in one of their bastions in the galaxy like this.*
*He thought about potentially going up to one of the officials that he could tell were keeping order around and asking for further instructions, but decided against that. The last thing he would want to happen is to look impatient to the Jedi, especially considering the fact that this was his chance to be hired by them. That being said, money was not the sole motivator for his trip here, but his late fathers credits wouldn't last forever.*
*While pondering these things, Hezziah chose to stay put and assume that whoever was supposed to be meeting him was on their way.*

"In a manner of speaking." Leigh's hologram snapped to life halfway through her sentence, revealing the blonde, freckled face she preferred when speaking to organics. It also helped her make an assessment of the humans standing in front of her; both in terms of providing her a more focused view, and in terms of analyzing their first reaction to her all-too-human expressions. The woman, tall and black-haired, was clearly the leader of the two, with the burly male following nervously some paces behind. The woman...it was hard to tell whether she was comfortable or not in Leigh's presence. She balanced an easy air and informal diction with quick, furtive eye movements. It was the look of a prey animal that did not want to advertise what small advantages she had--such as the bulge of a blaster resting just above her hip.
Of course, those were common tells by this point. Strangers were often not quite sure what to make of a giant robot with a human face and a massive cannon.
"My partner will also want to meet you as well," she said, smiling widely. Her mood had not improved any--the pair of silent, staring children at her side were a constant reminder of why it hadn't improved--but she couldn't help but enjoy the brief, subtle changes in expression in her new guests that her smile caused. "She is inside somewhere. I'll contact her now to make her aware of your arrival. I assume you are not uncomfortable navigating a Jedi facility?"
She pointed through the door to indicate the way--using, on a whim, the cannon to complete the gesture.

This was the first time Wade had been out in the open since leaving the relative safety of Myrkr, and the raw exposure of it had already started making his skin crawl. He half expected demons to start popping out of the walls and ceiling any second now, and his eyes scanned back and forth even more anxiously than Karana's. Relax. If they were here you'd smell them by now. Pulling in a breath, he released it slowly, then another, then another. By the third try he'd managed to stop trying to watch the entire hangar all at once, and was better able to observe the three beings they were approaching. The deep breaths also told him a great deal about the two children standing next to their canon-toting contact. No discernible scent... His eyes shifted to Leigh for a moment, then back to the kids as a small smile appeared on his face. "Cute kids. They yours?"

Leigh's smile faded fractionally. "Not quite," she said to the gentleman (her memory returned the name 'Connors'), then without pause turned to the children. "If you'll excuse us. I'll be around."
Without further explanation, she entered the door into the Jedi base, activating her comlink again for Na'an. Back to business.

*Life Emulator? Model 03? This started to sound familiar to Gracie... Wait a minute, she had it!* "So you's name's Elly Othree! ... but if you's sisters you should has the same last name..." *Suddenly stunned by this realization, she completely lost her train of thought, until the arm cannon was explained and she immediately snapped to attention again with a gasp, then a small frown.* "That's too bad. Two hands helps!" *she exclaimed, raising both of her hands in the air emphatically. She thought it wasn't fair that Elly Othree didn't have two hands! Elly Otu did! And so did Gracie! Even if she wasn't originally a robot, but she was one now!
Gracie spun when the two adults approached, looking for the "person with the cannon." So Elly Othree! Gracie looked back up at the droid only to see a surprising sight: She suddenly had a face! Woah, that was cool! Could she make other faces, or just that one? Huh, she actually did look a little like Elly Otu! Only older of course.
But now there was boring grownup talk happening. Gracie and Lana were mentioned! Briefly... but then it went right back to grownup conversation. And now Elly Othree was leaving! Aw... Gracie pouted, disappointed, but nonetheless waved as she departed, calling out,* "Bye, Elly Othree!" *Turning toward her remaining friend, she asked,* "What we do now, Elly Otu?"
