"I see," the enigmatic young woman replied, "the information we've been forwarded would seem to indicate that you left in rather too much of a hurry to visit the gift shop." A faint smile accompanied the words spoken in a semi-dry tone of voice.
"For me?" she wasn't taken in, but she decided to play along. "How very thoughtful of you," she hesitated, set-back by his rather frank appraisal of herself through a stare that had been just shy of impolite. Alexis felt under-dressed for the occasion. It wasn't a new feeling really, it had been going on since the day she'd passed her Trials. Her padawan braid had been a part of her, a part of her that she still didn't feel ready to let go in spite of the fact that she had done just that. It felt too much like a goodbye. She swallowed and then took the box he held out to her.
It felt heavy, though she knew it was not. Warm brown eyes flicked a glance up at Palo Torsh before looking back down as she opened the box. A worried light glinted in her eyes. Balancing the box in her left hand and forearm, she reached inside to pick up the lightsaber hilt that was revealed there. Slim fingertips hesitated over the hilt, a faint tremble shook them, and she grasped the hilt. Alexis gasped, blinking as she took a step back from Palo. She didn't need to ignite it to know that the blade was red. There was so much hate and pain writhing through the cold metal in her hand. She dropped the lightsaber back in the box and closed it quickly, not noticing the solitary tear that welled up in the corner of her left eye before streaking down her cheek.
"I---I think you had better tell me how you got this," she finally spoke, her voice sounded oddly tired and a wee bit shaky at the beginning, gathering firmness as she carried on, "and where."
She visibly pulled herself up straighter before looking back at him, "However, in the mean time, I am Alexis Karidian. Welcome to the Jedi Praxeum of Yavin IV."

Watching a tear run down her fair skin, Palo regretted his nonchalance in presenting Alexis with the lightsaber. By putting an unwarranted emphasis on his natural own psychometry, he either underestimated her ability to sense the dark side within the hilt, or the hilt's abundance in the dark side. “My first action in a civilized system out of prison and I make a young girl cry...I would have preferred having been escorted at blaster point,” he thought to himself. Alexis was doing her best to control her emotions, but he could see the effect of the lightsaber had on her.
“I didn't...I mean...I'm...so sorry.” Palo finally said, wishing he could think of something more consoling or useful. Before introducing himself, he offered a brief explanation of the lightsaber's origin, looking at the floor between them, rather than see her reaction.
“I was in Jedi training several years ago, when my master and I were attacked by a Dark Jedi wielding that lightsaber...he killed my master in the process. I retrieved my master's lightsaber with the force, then killed the Dark Jedi. I gave my master's lightsaber to his next of kin, and kept the Dark Jedi's lightsaber...oddly enough, the Dark Jedi claimed to be after a bounty on my head.”
He looked back up at her eyes, and saw she was more beautiful than his interrupted first glance was able to perceive...well, as beautiful as one can be in those fight suits.
“My name is Palo Torsh, though you probably already knew that...It's a pleasure to meet you Alexis.”

"It is not your fault," she replied as she tucked the box under her arm. This sort of thing was normal for someone like her. She pulled off her right glove and extended her hand in greeting. She was wearing a bracelet that had been hidden by the glove. This is not unusual for females in general. But this bracelet was a long braid of hair coiled around her wrist and fastened. At three different points it was wrapped in emerald green thread. As he was looking at the floor with peculiar interest he probably missed the flash of pain that tightened her eyes.
"Really," she reassured him, "it's ok. I see things, feel things too, I was born that way," she explained, "it is part of my life, and I have come to accept it," she concluded with a tone of finality. The lightsaber hilt was slightly different, but strong emotions and feelings can leave behind a residue. She knew far too much to believe that the world of things one could see was all that existed.
Alexis listened to his record of dealings with the Dark Jedi who owned the lightsaber he'd given her. Well, not given her exactly. Given to the Jedi. She felt old as only one who has seen beyond can feel. History was like an anvil underneath her, while the present and future were a hammer crashing down on her shoulders. Of course, that was a bit of an exaggeration probably, but she'd always felt like an outsider, until the Jedi took her in. And there was that piece about the bounty. She'd ask later.
She met his gaze with arched eyebrows, flushing a bit at his open admiration. She didn't spend much time on her appearance since it had never seemed necessary. Besides, Jedi always knew what to wear. A Jedi pilot only had one other option really, and it involved a flightsuit. Though, Jedi fashion did not require the bilious orange of the Rebel Alliance. If one of them went walking in space, they found each other using the Force. It was much more efficient that relying upon line of sight, in which scenario a brilliant flash of color was necessary.
Alexis nodded agreement. "You as well, Palo."
And something occurred to her, "I wonder whether in your case the fight and killing of the Dark Jedi would be likened to the killing of a Sith Lord. In which case one could argue that you are no longer a Padawan. In the days of the Old Republic there were some exceptions to the routine Trials. Killing a Sith Lord was one of those exceptions."

Palo felt reassured, almost safe, after he heard Alexis explain that she too, had seen and felt such things since birth. “Since birth,” he thought to himself. “She's a Jedi.” Palo had been apprehensive about his return to an Order, in close proximity to others trained in the Force, though he felt no anxiety here. He felt the Force strongly, and there was a calm vibrancy to it. A lushness to his surroundings. It had been a long time since he felt such a strong connection to it.
Palo listened to her attentively as she mentioned Knighthood. It was interesting that she had brought this up, as he was to take the trials in a matter of days when the Dark Jedi attacked. But after his master's death he just left. If he was found on Tibrin, he didn't want to put anyone else there at risk. Unfortunately, the bounty followed him even after he joined a smuggling crew...
“...Am I a Jedi?” Palo asked himself, “Did it matter?”He hadn't thought about it for a long time. He noticed a rather odd-looking bracelet of hair when Alexis removed her glove. He took a few steps closer and shook her hand.
And then it happened.
Thoughts rushed to him, as if a coil spring that had been stretched back across time from his past had just been released and retracted into the present, from the instant he struck down the Dark Jedi to the very moment he touched Alexis' hand. He defeated the Dark Jedi...the Trial of Courage; imprisoned on Oovo IV....the Trial of the Flesh; his escape from Desolation Alley...the Trial of Skill; a gunner with smugglers, captured, then discovered the other crew members were dead and his bounty was the reason the ship was attacked, he overcame his guilt...the Trial of the Spirit; and now he saw his destiny through the veil of danger and chose to come here, Yavin IV, to the Jedi Praxeum...it was then he realized what her bracelet must have been: her padawan braid...the Trial of Insight.
The past ten years flashed by, and now the coil spring extended outward again, to the future. The entire revelation only lasted a moment, a single instant, but it was incredibly intense. And yet, he was not exhausted. In fact, he felt revitalized, like he had returned home from somewhere, or broke the water's surface for breath and sun after so much time in dark depths.
Alexis must have sensed it too, Palo thought. He felt the strong current of the Force pass and a connection of sorts made. He let go of her hand after a slight hesitation, but could still feel her through the Force.
“I guess I am a Jedi.”Palo said, with a tone more of relief than surprise, then exhaled audibly. He was glad to have come here.

"Brilliant," Alexis finally replied when he released her hand. She could tell something had happened. He looked a bit dazed and she wasn't about to attribute it to her presence, so...
"How long have you been away from a Jedi Academy?" One could always tell about younger Jedi. Isolation wasn't usually good for them, and when they returned to a place that had a higher population of Jedi, it could be unsettling and overwhelming at first.
At least he seemed relieved, though she would not be surprised if he tried to run at some point. She had run. Once. All the way to Yavin Station, she reflected ruefully.

“I never stepped foot in an official Jedi Academy before. I was just trained by Tour'ku Seff on Tibrin, but...”
The sense of relief faded when he said the word "official" and Palo became uneasy. He did not regret about coming to Yavin IV, nor would he make any attempt to flee or leave unannounced and it was nice to fully feel the Force again, stronger than ever before, and realizing he was more or less equal to a Jedi that had passed the Knighthood Trials felt invigorating...but he was still uncomfortable with the Jedi Order as he had known it through holocrons and datapads over the past few years, even though he wanted to be a Jedi Knight. When he was a padawan under Tour'ku Seff, there was no "fixed" rubric in which to operate under. Morality was almost natural, and Tour'ku never corrected his judgment. But in regards to the actual Order and their councils, he felt some of their teachings were slightly misplaced and he despised the concepts of social hierarchy regarding Jedi Masters and members of Councils and High Councils to distinguish authority and ability. In addition to his uneasiness, he also felt...old.
Palo was only 27, though he felt like a fossil compared to this young girl, whom he suspected might still be in her teens. It didn't have anything to do with her status or position within the Order in relation to his own, but he didn't want to submit to the system within the Order. He had the patience...he learned that in prison...to climb up and possibly even one day become a member on a council. But he didn't want to spend the rest of his life according to the morality set in place by someone else. More importantly, he didn't want to be dishonest and silently obedient and hide his feelings about his misgivings. He wondered if it was even possible to be a Jedi but not member of the Order. After all, wasn't “Jedi” basically the name given to a member of the Order?
“If I'm technically a Jedi Knight...if I've truly earned that title,” Palo thought to himself, “Then I'll be Knighted. But I'm not going to join the Order.” Palo concluded. “And I'm not going to wear those silly bathrobes.”
“Look,”Palo started again to Alexis, though there were many things to still discuss, such as his bounty, the ship he stole, and escaping a Republic prison, he felt he should address his discomfort with the authority and organization of the Order, though not Jedi in particular, “I'm really happy that I can feel the Force with such great intensity, especially now, with all these Force-sensitive beings everywhere. And, ego aside, I believe to have passed the necessary tests to be a Jedi Knight, and if I am deemed ready, I'll be knighted...but I'm not really one to adhere to a moral code other than my own, not even that of the Jedi Order. Not that my morality is self-serving, or anything, but...am I making any sense? I mean, can one be a Jedi without technically being a member of the Order?” Palo took a lighthearted tone, but he was genuinely torn. Palo knew of only a few cases where Jedi were not actually members of the Order, none of which really applied to his situation. Hopefully once his name was cleared, he could still be a Jedi without being bound to the will of some council.
“Maybe I'm thinking about this too much,” thought Palo, “Maybe I don't have to realign my morality to be part of the Order, and I can openly disregard the asinine rank of “Jedi Master” used to distinguish authority.” Palo felt foolish for thinking about his Jedi prospects given the situation. “...maybe I should wait until my problems with stealing a ship and escaping prison are resolved before I worry about a problem with the Order that has yet to arise.”
Regardless, he didn't want to leave. Palo was beginning to really like the girl, in a platonic-sense, if nothing else. And he hasn't exactly made many true friends over the past few years. And the Praxeum here looked like it needed help. He sensed the girl might need the help of a friend as well. And Palo knew without a doubt, that he needed a friend right now, more than anything.
“Well...we can cross that bridge when we get there,” Palo said, backtracking,“Please, tell me more about yourself...preferably somewhere besides the hanger so we can have a seat, and you can drop off that lightsaber and I can put down this knapsack.”

Alexis' childhood had definitely not been a joyride. And she had had some bad experiences within the Jedi Order. But, she would not willingly leave the Order itself, because she believed in the basic tenets of the Jedi Code. She contemplated Palo with troubled eyes, more feeling what was under the surface of his words, though those were troubling enough."It is not precisely a moral code, Palo. The Jedi do not override and wipe out our individual personalities when we are brought into the Order." She bit her lip. He was probably thinking of Qui-Gon Jinn, the most famous of the Greys. But even he was well-respected by the High Council, and he had always remained within the Order."I think it would hinge upon the nature of that technicality, but---" she drew herself up with a deep breath, "I think you have more pressing issues to deal with at this point," she calmly remarked as she adjusted the box under her arm.
Heading over towards the control center, she nodded to the staff on duty and turned in a copy of her recent nav-data asking them to forward it up to Masters Rawkill and Tuhlute."Come with me, Palo," she invited, as they left the hangar.
A couple corridors away she pointed down a medium-sized hallway, "Pilot's quarters, ready rooms, and even mess hall. The Praxeum has always had a focus on practicality." They took a lift up to the first level, "Here are the student quarters and the guest facilities. Right now, you'll probably have a whole suite to yourself." She paused outside a room that she knew was empty and keyed the door open. Then, she stepped aside, "The Knights and Masters are up on the second level." "Soooo," she shifted the box that he'd given her to her other arm, "assuming you want to settle down a bit, I'll be back in half an hour and show you around," she offered.

*Despite being his ship, Gavin understood respect of knocking before entering. A number of things could be happening and in this case, he wasn't sure if she wanted to be left alone. Entering, he stood in the doorway.* "Everything go ok in there?" *Kaytra looked up at Gavin when he spoke. She shook her head and closed her eyes for a moment.* "No, not really. I feel worse now then when I woke up. I'm not sure what half conscious me was thinking, but I should have waited a while before coming here." *She turned her gaze back to Gavin.* "Lets just get out of here. The further away I am from...anybody. The better I'll feel." *Gavin nodded to her before turning and leaving the room. He understood the desire of being alone when things didn't go the way one wished. But now the only thing that could be done was get her to Selonia to get her fully healed. Entering the cockpit he took his seat and rubbed his head. Many things recently seemed to be going wrong or away from an intended hope. He began punching buttons across the console and the systems began coming to life. Before long the systems were green and the ship was ready for departure. It lifted off the ground and made its way out of the hanger. Once clear, he punched the thrusters and it flew off into orbit.*

*The Endeavor thundered into the hangar and slowly landed on its struts with a low groan. Miarte powered down the engines before letting out a sigh. Standing up she made her way down the loading ramp and into the hangar herself. She came to a sudden stop and looked around. What she saw surprised her, she recognized no one. This confused her greatly, she knew the temple sometimes got new students, but this was uncalled for. She turned her attention to the nearest Jedi, or at least she thought they were. Stepping forward, she spoke.* "Excuse me. There wouldn't happen to be a member of the council available, would there?"

The person that Miarte had thought was a Jedi, was in fact a republic mechanic that had dressed in simple robes, since the Commando's arrayed around the Hangar would be more than enough protection, now that they weren't on high alert anymore. He gave a nod as she asked after a member of the Council =Republic Mechanic= Master Rawkill should be free, I'll message him now, he shouldn't be too long... A few moments later, the Ewok Jedi Master entered the Hangar Bay and made his way across to the newly arrived HWK-290 light freighter that belonged to Miarte Althe, coming to a stop just in front of the Female Hybrid Sith. He gave a bow to the woman, whose record indicated that she was a previous resident of Yavin IV, before the attack by the Mandalorian Crusaders, which had rendered the Temple uninhabited =Jedi Master Rawkill= Welcome back to the Yavin Jedi Temple, I am Master Rawkill, Deputy Headmaster of the Yavin Temple, and member of the Council of First Knowledge. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Knight Althe... So, how can I help you?

*Miarte gave a nod to the mechanic when he said he'd contact a member of the council. She didn't have long to wait until a Ewok Jedi entered the hangar and approached her. Miarte returned his bow as he introduced himself. His title caught her off guard some. Things must have really changed since she was gone.* "Thank you, it's been a while since I've set foot in this temple. I can honestly say though things seem to have changed a lot since I've been gone." *She paused for a moment as she glanced around her. Curiosity was killing her on the inside, so she was going to be blunt with her question.* "What happened here? I don't recognize anyone. The temple itself also feels...off in a sense."

Rawkill nodded as she looked around, unable to recognize anyone, which was to be expected, since Alexis and Diamonte were about the only two people left of the former Yavin IV Praxeum Jedi. Nowadays, Republic Commando's were stationed not only throughout this Temple, but at the Temple of the BlueLeaf Cluster and the Temple of Exar Kun, since they still lacked the staff to properly defend Yavin IV alone, and security was still a little tight after recent attacks =Jedi Master Rawkill= Things have indeed changed around here... The Mandalorian Crusades inflicted one of it's greatest tolls here. I'm sorry to have to be the one to inform you of this, but... most of the former Yavin IV Jedi are all missing, disappeared almost overnight. At this stage, without any evidence to the contrary, we presume they have passed on... At this stage, I am currently working with Master Tuhlute and Knight Karidian to rebuild the temple and bring it back within the Jedi Order, a task that was slightly delayed by certain terrorist elements, hence the security... I'm sorry for your loss Knight Althe...

*Miartes steps almost faltered when Master Rawkill told her that almost all the inhabitants of the Praxeum had just vanished over night. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and calmed her nerves. She did not want doubt or fear to take hold. Turning her gave to the Ewok Jedi she gave a slight bow.* "If it is true that they are gone. Then they are one with the force. We can not change that. But, it is good to hear that Master Tuhlute and Knight Karidian made it through. I will have to see them sometime, and also relieve the information from my mission." *She watched a small group of Republic commando's go by before speaking again.* "I had heared whispers of the Mandalorian Crusades before I left. Never did I believe that they'd be this bold. Then again I should have expected them to be. As for this terrorist element. Did slavers or smugglers try to take over this place afterwards? Or was there still a holdout of Mandalorians here?"

He gave an approving nod as Miarte acted with dignity and respect regarding the disappearance of her former peers and mentors. As she talked of the Crusades, he was doubtful anyone had believed the Mandalorians would be so bold as to try eliminate all force users and cause the destruction of at least one planet. He shook his head as Miarte inquired about who was behind the terrorist occupation of Yavin =Jedi Master Rawkill= I doubt even Master Yoda or Master Luke Skywalker would have expected such a move by the Mandalorians, had they been alive today. As to the terrorist element... I am afraid it was nothing quite so grand as a Mandalorian Holdout, or Slavers, or even Smugglers... It was GALSAF, under the command of Ander Tagira, a man who has not only disgraced himself, but also those whom he leads. They sided with the Mandalorians during the crusades, fighting with them at Kuat, Carida, and from the rumours I have heard, even here as well... When I arrived to meet with Master Tuhlute, GALSAF had already gotten here, following the Mandalorian defeat at Kuat, and were working to steal a great deal of Jedi data and try claim Yavin for themselves. Thankfully we were able to remove GALSAF from Yavin, though I fear they have become the very evil they proclaim to try and fight against, and thus will need to be dealt with...

*Miarte gave a small nod at the name GALSAF. She had heard the name mentioned a time or two when she was in the far reaches of the Outer Rim. Most of those people who mentioned it where nothing more then angry pirates or disgruntled slavers. She never really thought of them as anything more then a paid mercenary group. However, the name Master Rawkill mentioned caught her interest.* "I've heard of GALSAF before. Nothing more then angry insults though from the galaxies..less then desirable groups. I never really paid them any mind though, figured they were nothing more then a small group of mercenaries." *She paused for a moment before speaking again.* "This Ander Tagira. He wouldn't happen to be the same Tagira that was once a Jedi Master at this Praxeum, would he?"

Rawkill was not surprised that Miarte had heard of GALSAF, since the group had been making something of a reputation for itself over the years, though in recent times it wasn't just with the less than desirables of the galaxy. He honestly would have prefered it if they had remained little more than a mercenary group on the fringes of the Republic, but instead, they had chosen to side with the blood thirsty Mandalorians, before trying to flaunt their superiority by trying to claim Yavin. He gave a nod as Miarte asked if Anger Tagira of GALSAF was the same as the Ander Tagira that was formerly of the Yavin Praxeum =Jedi Master Rawkill= They are indeed one and the some. Though I can't say I knew him during his time as a Jedi, I do not believe it would be an incorrect statement to make that he has indeed fallen far... But, I am pretty certain you did not come here to discuss the misfortunes of Yavin since you last left. Is there perhaps anything else I can help you with? Or would you like me to take you to Headmaster Tuhlute, so you can deliver your report from your last mission?

*Miarte shook her head. Even though questions still buzzed around in her head about what happened to Yavin, she couldn't let those thoughts bog her down. She spoke softly for a moment as she pushed the thoughts away.* "Yes..he has fallen far indeed." *She then turned her attention back to the Jedi beside her.* "No, you have been helpfull so far. But..I think it would be best to see Headmaster Tuhlute. My mind already has enough to think about, I'd rather not add anymore to it right now."

Master Rawkill gave a bow, before ushering Miarte to follow him as he leads the way out of the hangar bay, taking a quick moment to send a short message off to Master Tuhlute, to inform the Headmaster of his new guest that wished to meet with him ahead of time, before continuing to lead the way through the Temple towards the Headmaster's apartments in the Living Quarters of the Temple

The transport made it's way down through Yavin IV's atmosphere and down into the hangar bay of the Yavin IV Praxeum Temple, landing in it's allocated spot, before lowering the ramp to allow Jedi Master Rawkill, and 9 Jedi Guardians, to disembark from the vessel. Admiral Ju'unthor was already present and waiting to greet Rawkill and his part of Guardians, before the Ewok Jedi Master sent a message via his star net chip to Diamonte, requesting the Headmaster's presence in the Hangar Bay

=Not long after the events of Alexis' Knighting=
Jedi Master Rawkill and Constance entered the hangar bay first, with Athos bringing up the rear as he pushed the hover dolly that currently had Hyperion sitting on it. A lot had changed about the Temple since he had first arrived to Yavin, and it was a far better place for it, especially since when he had arrived, GALSAF was up to no good, but now, the repairs were finished, the archives had been cleaned up and repaired. His work here was done, and it was time for him to move on to his next mission, which would start on Talus and involve the aid of the Th'tremsi people. Without taking a second glance back, Rawkill and his apprentices loaded up into a transport, which soon took off and headed up into orbit
