Good folks, I have returned.
With that, I would like your cooperation in a small SL, in wich Seleevan will persue political life within the Republic, starting with getting Vortex accepted into it.
Basically the idea is to become the Pre-Empire Tarkin. Militaristic, with a hidden agenda.
This would first of all need me to start off a discussion in the rotunda, starting with a speach then a hearing, and most likely Seleevan would have to be put before some kind of tribunal or council where he would have to defend himself against the most obvious of attacks against his person, mainly the ridicilous notion that he is some kind of sith.

I intend to run for Supreme Chancellor, and I plan to ask Crom'nen's secretary Belf'ima to be my running mate. She is the logical choice. OOC, Crom is one of the most active Republic writers, but his main character would be too divisive a choice. Also, she represents a unity ticket: A Core Worlds human male, and an Outer Rim alien female. My basic IC parameters for a running mate were an alien and not from the Core Worlds, and I'm not even aware of another active writer who has a character that fits those parameters. Plus, Dmitri was impressed with Bel'fima during her tenure as acting Senator, and elevating her to a higher rank once more could be a way to keep Crom'nen in check (or maybe it will backfire horribly... I look forward? to finding out).
I see that I have quite a bit to respond to as Dmitri at the gala, but once that is concluded, we should call a Senate meeting, and hold an election (does anyone want to run). Then, as part of the same meeting, we could potentially start to discuss Seleevan Khar. I had actually hoped to have my Jedi characters dig up some dirt on him by now, but neither Sel nor I was around enough this summer to make that RP happen.
Is there anyone else who wants to run for Chancellor, or shall we do what we've done in the past and nominate a fictitious NPC?

If no one else cares, fictious works for me. And just so everyone knows, Bel'fima is designed to keep Crom'nen in check in general. When he gets distance from her, he gets in trouble.

Greetings all. I just learned yesterday that my job is ending. And I'm pretty much giving up on my career path. And I'm giving up JVS. Been real. Sorry to disappoint and let people down, but all in all I've done what I can. I hope that my years and different characters have brought something interesting here.

Not you leaving (although that stinks too), but the job part. I hope you find a new path soon, and it's been a pleasure writing with you. Your characters were unpredictable, in the best sense. |

To those of you that remain within the Republic Usergroup, I’ve come to you today to issue a proclamation of sorts. I know that your lives are fraught with work and the like, but in brief - I would like to inform you that in the coming days, the Hapes Consortium shall be coming to Coruscant and announcing the annexation of any and all Republic holdings.
It just doesn’t seem right that the Empire has accepted it’s death with dignity while the beaten horse of the Republic still breathes.
Therefore, starting sometime next week after a hectic weekend for me has ended, I and a select few writers will be arriving at the Senate Rotunda to make this proclamation in character. I’m posting this here, so that any and all interested members that still have some claim within the Republic are more than welcome to participate in any manner they see fit.
After everything has been legitimized and the Republic becomes part of the Consortium, I will be dissolving the Republic in it’s entirety, leaving the member worlds to fend for themselves after everything that has taken from them is returned. (I.E. Tithes, Communal Defense Forces, Etc.)
While I wish for this to be as bloodless as possible, my character’s will not fear resorting to violence in order to accomplish their goals. So, should you desire to fight me and mine, know that we will be more than happy to meet you upon the battlefield as equals, Out of Character that is. I can’t speak for what they will do until it’s about to happen.
With that said and done, I look forward to seeing your responses (If any).

If/when I am inclined to participate, I will be in touch with you. It honestly solves a lot of OOC problems for me if I can just ignore the Republic for a while.

With Crom'nen gone and Zarine, Seleevan and myself all AWOL, there really isn't a Republic anymore, except as an NPC concept.
I have some doubts about the legitimacy of what you are planning, and I imagine the rest of the planets would continue to function as if a Republic exists, even if Coruscant is removed from the picture, but I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Considering you've only seen what I've posted here in the thread, I can understand why you believe there are doubts to the legitimacy of what I'm doing. Nevertheless, you can speak to me whenever you wish about the event, but I can assure you that nothing will change the end result.
