So, Arcturus and I have been discussing how we think the Council of Reassignment might fit within the greater Jedi Order. And I thought (hope, I'm not speaking out of turn here, Arc) it might be nice to hear from the Jedi and see if there is any interest in the ideas we are generating. Because, I mean if not, then what's the point? Right? Briefly: - We would send a representative to help facilitate Jedi trials
We would of course help OoC and IC in the manner that best fit with the writers undergoing the trials, the Master/Padawan pair
- The Exploration Corps would (hopefully) have an Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake feel to it
- We are looking into using a Praxeum ship
- The Jedi Aces are awesome
- We'd like to potentially be able to perform extractions for the Shadows, when needed, and provide back-up, until the rest of the Order can show, for the Watchmen (though, doubtless Adi--*ahem* the new Watch Lead, whoever gets chosen--doesn't think they need help)
For those interested in a longer version: As far as Trials go, it isn't our focus to run them, more like bounce ideas off each other and the writers to help create cool story lines and trials, not a standard format...though that isn't a bad way to go either, if the Order wants that. IC, it gives us an excuse to talk with any who fail the trials and discuss with them the potential within the Jedi Service Corps.
While the rest of the Corps (Agri Corps, Med Corps, Mechanic Corps) are cool, both Arcturus and I feel that most people will be drawn to the Exploration Corps. The Corps sent out ships as aid, relief, and exploration among other things. The Exp Corps was the archaeological research branch of the Order, at least in canon. Hopefully, this doesn't take away from anything the CoFK was planning.
In canon, the Exp Corps had a Praxeum ship where they trained those Jedi who failed the trials to help them, if they wanted to retry; but also to help them grow as Jedi in the Corps (remedial Jedi classes). We are currently still deciding which ship to use, since we'd like to to be able to withstand some damage and dish it out while extracting Shadows or aiding Watchmen. As a point of reference, in canon, the ship was a Corellian Colonizer; but that was Old Republic. We'd need something fast, durable, and strong. We could just modify a Colonizer's weapons, hull, and engines or modify the interior of a different ship.
We'd really like to see if any of the current Jedi Aces would like to use our Praxeum ship as a base of operations. Kel'Al's squadron? The remnants of Dragon squadron? Ideally, I think it'd be great to have 2 squadrons of starfighters; but we'll see who wants to join in. It's our hope that the pilots would see more action than if they were based on one world...but, again, that's just an idea.
As far as the extractions go, we thought it'd help facilitate inter-department cooperation and get more people writing together. The Shadows wouldn't always need extraction, just in dire need. The Corps wouldn't know the Shadows were Shadows, just Jedi in need of a lift/rescue. Perhaps the Corps would receive the notification on a secure channel from the Shadow in the field or from Ralyia or the Shadow's public leader. Plus, since a lot of the Corps would have failed the trials, they wouldn't be as regarded as a "full Jedi" so they'd garner less attention from the outside or the inside.
As for the Watchmen. They are pretty hardcore, by themselves. But, they are by themselves...I think. I just thought it'd be nice to have a number to call to get the word out to the whole Order and have cavalry jump in while waiting for the real cavalry to jump in. More of a first responder role for us than a hold-the-line forever type role. Additionally, any ambassadors in need of a lift could give us a call, too. Really, we're just trying to find ways to work will all branches of Jedi. Not to steal SLs or horn in everywhere; but rather to build a sense of unity within the Order as a whole. Okay, tl;dr. |

Nope. The High Council Chambers if you want to be among the Masters when Sinistra makes her request. Or meet your fellow sub-council members. Or meet the new High Council. HC chambers is where the party is at...I'll be there shortly. Figures I should meet Devlin IC if we're on the same Sub council lol. |

Very nice Devlin. According to Dav and Jago, Alexis is the only remaining member of Dragon Squadron still on JvS. Currently she's on Honoghr. ... erm... drinking actually. >.< I'm tempted to create a padawan that will fail the actual trials since there is now a Council of Reassignment...

Just as a thought: the Jedi alone will not have the ressources to offer shelter to all the refugees. Wouldn't it be logical for them to send a delegation or at least one Jedi to the senate to talk with them? Ask them for help, rations and so on. Would be a nice chance to actually RP the start of a rebuilding and would IC coordinate the refugee camps. Also it would include the republic and those who are not up to writing battles.

For the record, I wasn't referring to you or Devlin as much as Zion and Jena who seem to genuinely have a beef with being at the meeting or seeing Adi get elected. Sin's calling the council, someone just needs to answer the holovid. Well I am sorry you feel the need to call out two people, who have never claimed to be the purest of Jedi, of the twenty or so gathered. On Jena's part, she hasn't been to Coruscant since her former Husband was killed/died there, which considering how long they were probably together IC, makes sense why she would be a bit down at the meeting. On top of that, she now has to inform Ice that Adi will be prolonging his already long absence from both her life and their son's life.  as for Zion, well he never had much of a positive outlook on the High Council, after all the Council would have thoroughly disagreed with his actions in the past (especially considering the fact he took vengenace on those who killed his parents and relatives). On top of that, he was one of a very few who IC felt the Council needed change, so it is rather feasible for him to be somewhat skeptical of the entire new council IC (not just Adi. That is still a view Zion has yet to develop on a more personal level).  Also Dev, love the ideas for the Council of Reassignment. EDIT: is it wrong that a Sith makes me smile >.> |

Not quite ready to fight, but probably a fast learner in terms of the muscle memory she has for certain things like TK once jogged. Telepathy, empathy, and some psychometry is all go though. Sy is actually on Coruscant to see if the Jedi will take her in and train her. |

Holy hell, just the words "first responders" were enough for me. It sounds like ya'll are hitting the ground running, and getting things done idea wise. It's good that we're finally going to have a proactive unit. All of the rubbish about "all Jedi being first responders" we saw in the past was, frankly, less than heartening. When everyone is supposed to do something, quite often, no one does because they thought someone else would. That said, you guys have a daunting, yet awesome job ahead of you. And I want to see what you guys do. |
