Right, well, the Fel crew is a smuggling crew which is not much of a place for an archaeologist, so I've been trying to think of reasons why you guys might want to keep me around and for me to want to stay around after this story is over that would make sense in character for both parties. So here's what I've come up with...
Though his recent work, including his search for the Eye, has been met with some criticism Daniel is a fairly well respected member of the academic community and so he receives substantial funding from the Galactic Museum on Coruscant for most of his expeditions. This is important for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that these expeditions would be an excellent cover for the crew's illicit activities and should the crew get in a pinch Daniel's credentials would likely be enough to make anyone believe that the crew was on the up and up. You might be asking yourselves what does Daniel get out of this? The answer is simple, he gets to explore the galaxy, learn about several cultures, and depending on what world we end up on he could make some interesting discoveries. So he essentially gets adventure and knowledge. And of course with the museum funding him he can pay of any legal supplies, such as food and fuel, and of course my passage. Now, you might be thinking that all I'd like to do is run these artifact storylines, and I assure you that is not at all what I want to do. Of course it will be part of Daniel's story, but I by no means intend to try to force any one of you to join me in them. In fact I intend for them to mainly be side and background stories to explain my ability to pay for things. Perhaps in the future I might have the chance to gain a more centralized story, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

I'm not sure where or if I fit into this story anymore but I have an idea for how I can still be useful to the crew if I'm welcome to back, I can pitch it if you'd like. Go for it. I was hoping Dante would offer an opinion on the status of our hunt for the Eye and where you might fit in. As for this I was kind of thinking that I could have kept to myself on the ship, in deep study mode, locked in some room and oblivious to what is going on...unless there has been something going on that would make that impossible. |

Go for it. I was hoping Dante would offer an opinion on the status of our hunt for the Eye and where you might fit in. As for this I was kind of thinking that I could have kept to myself on the ship, in deep study mode, locked in some room and oblivious to what is going on...unless there has been something going on that would make that impossible. Your idea sounds fetch, love it, just one question. Which ship are you on?  So my brand new four month old computer just died an epic death, and after I coerce a geek or two into extracting my data from the dead beast, it's being sent back to Japan or wherever the hell they repair this crap these days. Managed to pull my old laptop kicking and screaming from the depths of my closet, but it's a buggy mass of electronics and is prone to giving into the 'Kriff It All I Quit!" state of mind, so. I'll be here, but not a lot. Will take a couple weeks to get my actual computer back. Wiped clean of all my important files and music and plethora of Malora avatars, I'm sure. I have an angry about this. Where's Oz when you need him? -_- |

Ugh. Yeah. Yup. I'm back.
Daniel, I don't have any issues with you sticking with us or the crew or our SL: you being holed up in a room or some such will probably work out just fine as far as explaining where you've been as well. In your absence I kind of played it by ear insofar as the pieces of the eye. Made it less about them and more about Dante's back story for the sake of keeping things rolling. As for future SL's with the crew, I think that's awesome. Could honestly use your expertise with old and ancient stuff in the future.

With a ship the size of the Red Cred, it's logical that we would try to make some extra money by bringing passengers aboard, and the Doctor is a good choice because he will keep to himself, but he has reliable funding, and he can open doors for us. I'm all for it, provided he can pay |

Been watching Firefly and trying to match our crew to the Serenity lot. I deemed it impossible after one too many tries. Although Mal and Fel are pretty spot-on, with Wash's flying skills, and Daniel matches up with Simon decently. Liya is definitely a classier version of Jayne, but with actual brains. A little Zoe, too. But I'm stuck on everyone else. Jace might make a nice River, if we lock him in a padded room for seven years with nothing but banana-beef bars. Obviously, he'd have to grow his hair out a little. And wear a dress. I guess Malora is the fail trailer-trash version of Inara. Dante can be the Benedict Cumberbatch-y version of Shep. Book. ...I have no idea why I'm still typing. *goes to bed* |

How long ago was Serenity? 2005? Ten years ago? I'd be lying if I said I hadn't seen it, and if that's the case, I'd also be lying if I said there wasn't a bit of Mal in Fel... but far less than you might imagine.
