*Bal was actually shocked to hear only two others have attempted to train here. He could only guess the one that died had an 'unfortunate accident' with his trainers. But he was just speculating on what Kal had told him. When he was handed the gaderffi, he caught it and spun it across his left arm, nearly taking his head off. He watched Kal'Shor put the necklace on, with the key jangling. Bal had to guess he'd have to take it from Kal in battle. But Tuskens were different than most organizations or factions. How he would get his things back would be a mystery. For the moment, he had to get used to these clothes.

Kal'Shor watched as Bal became familiar with the Gaderffii. He looked outside as the Twin Suns were already beginning to set on the horizon. Going through the weapon rack he found a Gaderffii sling and tossed it to Bal as well. He rotated his arms around, stretching them. He also walked to the door and pointed outside.
-Kal'Shor- "Start running. You have eight minutes to get ahead of me and hide. I suggest you make it good or there will be consequences."
Kal'Shor crossed his arms and started counting in his head.

*8 minutes. To hide. Another task to test him, but it was more subtle than the last. Bal nodded and raced out of the barracks. The surrounding area was new to him, but he managed to see something different. He quickly made his way toward the training obstacles. If he was going to hide he needed to be able to strike as well. He took around five minutes to find a good position between large peices of equipment, making sure he was barely seen, and it had almost a good whole outlook on his confined area.*

Kal'Shor finished his count and walked out of the barracks, looking around for any sight or sound of Bal. All he had to do was look at the ground. The wind had already worn away most of the footprints, but even an Uli-ah could tell when sand had been traveled upon. He knelt low to the ground, his Gaderffii out and at the ready as he made his way to the obstacle course, taking the path far to the right to keep out of the line of sight if Bal was in it. Making his way towards the side of the plateau where the mountain took back over, and climbed the side to a higher vantage point.
As the darkness of a Tatooine night began to set in he watched and waited. He smiled beneath his mask. At least the boy had self control. He knew he could out wait him, as he had gone through all of this before, and applied it, but there was no time. He had other plans. Standing up and holding his Gaderffii close to his chest, he jumped off the side of the mountain, aiming for the rope ladders. Falling fast he reached out and grabbed hold, stopping his momentum with little noise other than the movement of the ropes, which could easily be misheard as them moving in the wind.
Kal'Shor moved closed to the ground, remaining quiet as he moved towards the twin wall climb obstacle. It was the most easily defended position on the course, and also had a good line of sight across the training ground. Taking out a mirror attached to a piece of wire, Kal'shor slowly moved it across the sand. He smiled when he saw Bal laying prone. He moved across the opposite end to flank Bal from behind and then hit the side of the wood with his Gaderffii, and ran in. He had given him warning, he would be lucky to get it in combat.

*Darkness would only make things easier for Bal as his eyes adjusted to the slow rise of night. The wind decided to express itself randomly, even forcing the training grounds to shake and stir. As his eyes fully adjusted he settled in and waited, but he felt the need to move. His body couldn't stand the constant stillness. Then came a clatter of a gaderffi against the equipment. With his laying beside him, he knew Kal was onto him. He pushed himself out of his hiding place and quickly got to his feet. The robes somehow felt lighter during the night, having fell asleep during parts of the day. He had escaped Kal's attack for the moment, but he was now prepared for any strike that came for him.*

Kal'Shor laughed and ran at Bal-Savi, his swing purposefully wide, as a trap for Bal to take if he was naive enough to fall for it. If he did, Kal'Shor would quickly twist and grab the boy's throat once more. If he didnot fall for it, Kal'Shor would drop unexpectedly and swing low, for his legs.
-Kal'Shor- "New students always choose the obstacle course!"

*Still remaining silent, Bal watched the wide swing and ducked under it in case it did come near him. But was he fast enough? Kal did the same thing, dropping and swung at his legs. Bal blinked and moved fast, bouncing upwards in a backflip, sacrificing his hands as they were hit, forcing Bal to twist in the air and land on one knee. He quickly looked up at his target and struck back with speed. He wasn't used to the gaderffi, but he would risk his life to learn about every style of combat there was. This gaderffi and the Tusken ways seemed to have their uses already. Thinking smart, Bal attacked Kal with the lip of his gaderffi facing his opponent, hoping to rip his weapon away.*

Kal'Shor's movements quickened as he aggressively began walking forward, as he had done before. An easy way to psyche out an opponent was to make them think there was nowhere for them to go besides back, driving them into a psychological corner as the soon to be victor forced them back. It did not always work, but it was always effective in keeping the enemy on their toes.
As Bal-Savi's gaderffii caught on Kal'Shor's, the Dunewalker released his grip on his Gaffi immediately, guessing the sudden lack of opposition in the yank would throw the boy off balance. His Gaderffii now on the ground, Kal'Shor would take the oppotunity to rush Bal-Savi and tackle him to the ground.
-Kal'Shor- "Disarming a superior opponent is smart, but a Dunewalker is even more deadly with his bare hands!"

*Yanking the weapon of his opponent proved to easy, but he maintained his position, holding his balance. Kal reacted quickly and expected a stumbling boy, but Kal dodged the tackle his trainer had come at him with. Twirling the gaderffii more properly, Bal struck at Kal'Shor' back, hoping to land a hit. Even if he did not, he charged at him and decided to make a direct attack for the lower stomach to perhaps lower the guard of Kal and make him hold his in stomach in pain. He didn't expect it to work, but the worst idea was to let Kal take back the upper hand. He had lost in battle against the man once, but refused to take part in another failure. He would beat him if it meant his life. The fire in his eyes showed that clearly.*

His tackle failed, Kal'Shor used his forward momentum to perform a combat roll, dodging Bal's first attack to his back and putting a bit of distance between the Dunewalker and his student. When the second attack came, Kal braced himself firmly and caught the Gaderffii with his hands, gripping it with the might of a Krayt Dragon. The edged sides of the mace-like end of the Gaderffii he had caught dug into his gloves, and a small amount of blood started to soak into his gloves.
-Kal'Shor- "You fight strong, but you still do not know how to properly use your Gaffi. If I was just a regular Sentry, and you were from a rival clan, I could have already been dead now."
Kal'Shor held fast onto the Gaderffi, not letting it budge from his grip.
-Kal'Shor- "But what do you do when your disarmed opponent is on the verge of taking your weapon?"

*Kal was faster than he expected, but he shouldn't have come to that conclusion. The conclusion that should have come to mind was how in the world he was going to wi aainst Kal when the man risked his body for victory. Bal understood the necessity to win even with a broken body, rather than lose... but if he could no longer fight, then how would he serve his people or his friends? Bal only shook his head at this and then made up his mind. With all his strength, Bal tried to wrench the staff from Kal's hands, knowing it would be pointless. After pulling for a short amount of time, he rushed forward and did his best to jump into the air, lifting the stick up. With the momentum on his side, and the possibility of Kal going to make his own move soon, the boy shot down and force his body to slide across the sand underneath them. He still held onto the staff, and by that point his hands were behind his head as he slid and collided with Kal's feet. This was a strong attempt to disarm and knock down his opponent and had seen it done before. His only hope was that he pulled it off and managed to catch Kal off-guard for once.

Kal'Shor chuckled under his breath as he held on tightly to the end of the Gaderffii, the blood now dripping into the sand, a few drops at a time. As Bal jump, Kal'Shor saw an opportunity and quickly released the Gaffi. As Bal aimed himself towards the sand Kal'Shor sidestepped to the right, and as he hit the sand, Kal'Shor planted his boot firmly on Bal's center of mass. He pressed down hard, making it hard to breath for the young man.
-Kal'Shor- "When fighting an armed appointment, it is always best to let them make them make the first move, and react to their attacks with your instincts."
Kal'Shor pushed down with his boot harder.
-Kal'Shor- "Now tell me what you would have done differently. You faced off against a superior opponent, who was not afraid to sacrifice his body to win, and who has years of experience in real war and battle under his belt. How do you beat a superior opponent? Obviously not through skill, and certainly luck was not on your side...."

Sentries reported the two banthas coming in way before they themselves saw the enclave, or the sentries. Some calmness washed over the masses as the news of Nartagas return had come. He had left with the strange tusken woman all sudden, and some did not trust the girl with the golden gedaffi. Some already feared the girl had lured the Councillor into a trap, because only evil comes from outsiders. Others regreted trading their things for promises of good weapons and equipment made for desert use. Now, they could releash in the fact that they were wrong.
As the two Banthas got into the enclave, Six was overrun by a large group wanting their things. Six calmed them down, asking them to line up by the fireing range and get in line. Seems like Tusken were good at that, because she couldnt for her gaffis sake tell how many of them were waiting when she well got there herself. She waved nartaga goodbye, seeing as she now had to give her time to the people and her customers.
Six worked long into the night, matching records to owed merchandice, but in the end, everything was settled. There were no disputes made, beside a late delivery, and it seemed like that the people liked their new toys. There was a lot of shooting and shouting all night.
When she finally got into bed, she did it far from Nartagas home. She really was tired, and sleep was more golden then her ritual weapon. She slept like a newborn baby.

After they had come back to the Enclave and unpacked all the weapons, Nartaga took both Banthas back to the pens. His own Bantha licked him, leaving a trail of thick spit across his wrappings and robe. Nartaga patted the beast and then looked to the Elder's Bantha. It was already laying down and asleep. Nartaga shook his head and went back to his hut on the far side of the Enclave. He got a Sentry to get him up to speed. The other Councilors were relieved that the deal had gone well, but were still bickering about the future of the Clan. Also, the Dunewalker named Kal'Shor had taken an Outsider as a student. He was always a progressive when it came to Outsiders, but many looked down on him for this decision. Nartaga was simply glad that the old warrior had finally chosen someone to teach, Outsider or not.
As it neared the middle of the night, Six finally came back to the hut, obviously tired from dealing with so many orders. He let her go to bed without speaking, and went back to his meditations, not sleeping.
When morning came around once more, he was already up before Six, solemnly preparing some Dewback eggs in a bent metal pan over the stove. He set a plate down on the sitting table and sat down on the mat, setting his own plate in front of him. He gestured to the other plate of scrambled dewback eggs, for Six to sit.
-Nartaga- "I assume you have more questions. About the Dark Possessed, the dreams...the Kumumgah. I thought about what I told you several days ago....You have a right to know. Just know that it is not something that is widely known, and you cannot spread it around the clan."

Six had not slept this well and this much since she... well, since she let her out of her first cell. Or maybe the second. Nothing was so liberating and sweet as getting out of her first cell on juvex. Not dreaming helped.
She found herself sitting across Nartaga with already cooked breakfast in front of her. The little girl from the Sakkat clan now eating with a Councilor, and talking secrets.
-Six- "I do. I am sure I wont spread it, I am tolerated in camp, but not well liked. You are the only one who speaks to me about other things but weapons and outsider gear. And I think you know that anything you tell me I might have to tell my masters."
One could see she had taken up a lot of outsider customs. Normally Tusken sat in a lotus position, but Six kneeled in front of her food, as if she was accostomed to kneeling. This might have struck Nartaga before too, as it should do now. She also seemed to clean her rags a lot, and ate with some kind of contraption between fork and spoon, instead of her hands. Even things that could be taken with hands like bread.
-Six- "None the less, I am curious. The thing they thought me was that when one meets a new adversery, the first thing one needs to know is how to hurt it. How to kill it. Information like that can only come to the benefit of the clan, if the Banshee clan also knows. Plus, if you feel it is relevant, then it would be good for me to know too.
I have also thought. Is there a way to... to dream together? I... What I saw before the fires fell from the sky, it was beautiful."
She spoke basic. It seemed to be the best way to keep the discussion secret to even evesdroppers. THe clan may not be impressed by the outsider tusken, but they may be curious.

Nartaga watched Six for a few moments in silence as she ate. She was so changed by her experiences away from Tatooine, it was amazing she was still so intact mentally. He had seen many other Tuskens from clans who had been wiped out kill themselves rather than face the dishonor of having survived and done nothing.
-Nartaga- "I will start with the Kumumgah, then....as their story gives birth to the others.....If you do not mind I will tell you the slightly shorter version. The full recollection of the history of the Kumumgah would take days."
Nartaga poured himself and Six some water from a jug in the center of the table into small metal cups. He took a sip and cleared his throat before speaking again.
-Nartaga- "When the Kumumgah developed space travel their Elders warned their kinsmen that it was unwise to travel the stars without first knowing what was out there. They did not listen, and began colonizing other worlds. When the Rakatan's Infinite Empire discovered them, there was little they could do. Their ships were outmatched, their warriors were outgunned, and they were nearly defenseless when they finally made their way to Tatooine. For years they served as slaves to the Rakatan until a plague began sweeping their ranks. The Ancestors saw this as an opportunity to take back their honor and freedom, and fought against their Masters.....They lost, and as punishment the Rakatan began slaying the Kumumgah openly, and burned Tatooine from the sky. What remained of them became the Ghorfa, and then the Tuskens, and also the Jawas."
The first part of the story finished, Nartaga used some bread to scoop some of the remaining egg on his plate into his mouth. After swallowing he continued.
-Nartaga- "What is not widely know is the in between. The Kumumgah were a proud race, advanced almost as far as Outsiders are today. They did not go into slavery quietly. There was a War. A war Tatooine has not seen the likes of again. Millions were killed. The most powerful Shamans saw the end of their species as they knew it, and gathered what they could and fled to the outlands. They created ways of preserving their kind, and their technology, so after the threat of the Rakatan had passed, their children would arise from the ashes and retake their homeworld. In their....desperation...they used Rakatan technology, fueled by Darkness, to rip the minds and souls of Kumumgah out of their bodies, placing them in crystals, like an archive. thousands of people were sacrificed to the Machines they had created, and their bodies, empty and dead, were corrupted by the Darkness, and attacked on those that remained. Those were the Dark Possessed. Creatures unwittingly created by the Kumumgah using the enemy's technology. What was supposed to save them....only quickened their demise...."
Nartaga took another sip of water.
-Nartaga- "As the war now continued on two fronts, the remaining warriors and ships fought to buy the few Elder that were still alive time to save what they could. The Rakatan attacked from orbit, demanding submission, while the Dark Possessed and the Machines the Shamans had created only hungered for more. More death, more souls, more corpses to corrupt and fill with their will. While the Shamans had created monsters, they did succeed in saving the souls they had placed in the crystals, and hid them around the world in hidden places, to be found when the time was right. But through the thousands of years of silence, the minds, just like any normal mind, lost their sanity. They did not know what had happened, they did not know where they were, why they could not feel, could not breath, and why they were alone."
Nartaga took out the Kumumgah crystal around his neck, its soft pink glow pulsating slightly.
-Nartaga- "The crystals...cause the nightmares. They influence the minds of those around them. To those closest they make them see one the Kumumgah within's final hours. They can give great power to those that wield them, but at the risk of their sanity."
Nartaga tucked the crystal back beneath his robes. He took another drink from his cup, tilting his head back to get the remaining water in it. He almost immediately moved on to the topic of sharing dreams, not waiting for Six to speak.
-Nartaga- "Walking in another person's dreams is not unheard of. It is similar to planting your thoughts into another being's mind. Why would you want to share dreams with someone, and with who?"

She digested it for a moment. For one, yes, she wished to kill herself for a very long time, but it was hard with her hands and feet nailed to the floor and twileks force feeding her through tubes. What did hit her hard is the fact that she was related to jawas. That was a big punch. When the Councilor spoke of the crystals she glanced at the one on the wall and understood. Souls of ancient creatures. Huh.
But still... Jawas?
As for the Dark Possessed... SHe had one question.
-Six- "Can they be killed? The Dark Posessed?"
When asked whom she would like to meld in a dream with, she tilted her head.
"There is one I really feel I could learn a lot from in a dream. His exterior may be rough, and he may be old, but it would make me happy. So, can it be done with the Elder Bantha?"
She sounded serious, her voice focussed.
-Six- "That, Was a joke."

Nartaga nodded his head, confirming they could be killed.
-Nartaga- "It is very difficult to kill them. Physical weapons have little effect."
Nartaga decided to speak more on the Dark Possessed.
-Nartaga- "Several hundred years ago the Dark Possessed attacked Tuskens openly. They only seem interested in us, because of our link to the Kumumgah. Another War broke out. The R'Crurak clan was forced to leave the Enclave, and the clan barely survived. They retreated after something happened. I still do not know what....My knowledge is not complete. If the Elder was here, he could tell you more. Perhaps fill in the blanks for both of us."
When Six said she wanted to join minds with the Elder's Bantha, Nartaga visibly paused, and looked up at Six, trying to judge if she had a sudden case of insanity. He was relieved when she said it was only a joke.
-Nartaga- "I do not mean to sound like a old man stuck in tradition, but joining one's mind is a very serious act. It requires unwavering trust, in both persons to each other. It is not something to take lightly, or to joke about. If done improperly it is quiet possible to lose yourself in the joining, and both of you would perish. Or, if the one you join with wants to, they could attack your mind and leave you a drooling shell of what you are, and gain information that is locked away in your mind."

He pressed down hard, making it hard to breath for the young man.-Kal'Shor- "When fighting an armed appointment, it is always best to let them make them make the first move, and react to their attacks with your instincts."Kal'Shor pushed down with his boot harder.-Kal'Shor- "Now tell me what you would have done differently. Obviously not through skill, and certainly luck was not on your side...." *Bal hit the ground with force. A force he was hit with directly into the ground. The pain was unfathomable. It was almost as if the sudden stop of movement nearly killed him as he coughed up a sliver of blood from the impact. As the boot on his chest grew tighter and pressed down harder Bal gasped for air here and there. Bal tried his best to push Kal's boot off him, but it would probably be to no avail. His body felt stuck to the sand.*"Would keep fighting, and I would sacrifice my own body. If my determination does not see me through..... no one I lead will be able to follow me to battle, whether we know our fates or not."*Bal attempted a second time to push the boot off his chest. This time he put his whole strength into it, not caring whether he pulled a muscle to get it off. He would not let Kal treat him like dirt under his boot. He would not fall in battle so easily. The strain on his face was visibly present.*

Kal'Shor laughed at Bal's choice of words. He let up his boot as Bal pushed up harder and helped Bal up as he would no doubt be in pain and a good bit angry.
-Kal'Shor- "You are still raw ore. I will make you better, and turn you into fine metal. But first you have to believe that you can be better."
Kal'Shor patted the boy on the back, maybe a little too hard, but he didn't seem to notice.
-Kal'Shor- "I swear by the Suns if the other Sentries had as much determination as you, the R'Crurak would be unstoppable."
Kal'Shor reached down and picked up his Gaderffii stick. He then started running down the mountain trail into the lower part of the Enclave.
-Kal'Shor- "Time for a run! Try and keep up!"
