The need to be quiet evaporating when the Gungan goes for his blaster, Vartouhi stops creeping and runs full tilt towards him, lifting her vibroblade over her head in her right hand. Swinging the vibrosword down towards the Gungan's wrist to try and sever it before he has the chance to fire. Following through with the momentum of the swing, whether it lands successfully or not, Vartouhi lowers her right shoulder and tries to tackle the Gungan sentry to the ground.

Great Grass Plains of the North
Goyathlay tries to jerk his arm back before the sword stroke severs his arm, succeeding in doing so though his blaster is knocked from his hand. Scrambling backwards, somehow managing to stay on his feet for a few seconds, the Gungan is tackled to the ground when the human female slams into him and drives him off of his feet.
Wrapping his thin fingers around the human's right wrist to try and prevent her from using the sword against him, Goyathlay pistons his knee up to try and drive the breath from the human's chest.

Krai's eyes did not miss the young woman who had come to the spaceport. Armed with three... no four blasters, based on how she carried herself. This interested Krai. Calling one of her commandos over, she gave the order that he was to continue overseeing the distribution while she "followed a lead." Following Kia through the crowd at a distance that would not give her away, the Nagai kept her eyes on this stranger. Leaving the city, Kia made her way out into the area on the outer edges of Theed. Moving into a more forested area, she stopped at a clearing a stopped in the middle. For a few moments, she stood there, taking deep breaths as she sought to center herself. Once she felt ready, she removed a remote from her pocket and pressed a button. Whirling of small machinery could be heard turning on around her as she replaced the remote and her hands began stretching out.
After a minute, a sudden sound was heard in the brush to her left, a bright orange skeet being launched into the air. Removing her right DC-15 blaster, she fired, blasting it into dust. One by one, skeets were launched into the air at different directions and speeds, even having a couple moving at the same time in different directions. Switching back and forth between her right and left, she fired at the skeets, blasting each of them with quick reflexes and with little sight in moving from one target to the next.
Suddenly, a skeet flew from her left straight at her, forcing her to turn and fall back as she lifted her right blaster and fired. She hit the ground, lifting her left blaster to destroy a second skeet. Another sound made her look back and roll to her side as she fired and destroyed another. Moving to her feet once again, more skeets flew through the air as she fired, breaking them apart, letting her arms move in different directions as if being able to fire from any angle like she was fighting with her guns.
With five minutes spent shooting down skeets in random patterns, she knew what was coming as there was a slight pause in her training. Letting her arms rest at her side, she waited patient, aware before suddenly every launcher released skeets at the same time, throwing ten, then another ten all at once. Her range of motion began to really shine as she spun her arms around as did her body, shots firing in every direction. never once missing a shot, she finally brought them all down as she stepped forward and brought the back ends of her guns together, right hand up with the barrel pointing up and the left down with the barrel facing down.

Watching from a safe distance, Krai had to grudgingly respect her skills. And as it seemed the woman finished her routine she stepped out of where she had been watching from. She started slowly clapping, no need for this woman to know that Krai was actually impressed.
Hitting skeet is one thing... But how will you do against targets that can shoot back.
Hitting a couple buttons on her wrist guard, deployed a set of drones, brought on the mission originally to spy on the Naboo, but this seemed more fun. The quartet of drones hovered around the woman. Krai smiled hungrily but seemingly remembering what she was sent here for frowned and ordered the drones bolts powered down to stuns, still very painful but nonlethal. The merc waited to see if the stranger would accept the challenge.

Kia took a deep breath, ready for her exercise to be over and guns replaced. But when she heard the first clap, she turned to face Krai, her right-hand gun pointed at her. Her brown eyes sharpened with deadly focus as she spoke, immediately remembering who it was. Why would that woman have followed her? Kia thought it was just to offer supplies, but now, it seemed there was more to the story.
Her eyes never left Krai as the drones were released and floated around the woman. "Simple. With speed, skill, and steel. But it's rude to sneak up and follow people. What do you want? Who are you?"

Inquisitive, and not so quick and dumb as to take up a challenge from a stranger before even knowing intent. Starting to circle around the clearing like a predator circling its pray, Krai began to answer some of her questions.
No one has ever accused me of being polite. Honorable, maybe, but never polite. What I want? I have been sent here to test your skills, to see what you are capable of, Kia D'Naga. But who am I? That is easy. I am Krai Essen, Banshee, killer of Jedi and Sith, slayer of those who follow such broken philosophies. I have also tasted defeat many times, but that which is dead may never die!
The hungry smile once more returned to her lips, this would be fun.

Never once did her eyes leave Krai as she began to move around Kia, her blaster remaining fixed on the woman. Her eyes squinted and focus sharpened as her own name was mentioned. So, she had been sought out. The question was who was behind this? It was likely that she had somehow made enemies in her work to rescue civilians, but she had never expected to be pursued like this. As much as she preferred not to enter an engagement, it seemed like it might have been possible.
With little more than a split second, Kia's eyes shifted to the drones, her second blaster rising. In quick succession, the sound of three shots was heard. The first came from both blasters firing at to of the drones while the next to fire right after the other. She spent no time aiming, no time to even suggest her thoughts, yet her aim was dead on. What would be the deciding factor was how quickly these drones were capable of responding or if her sudden reaction was more than enough to drop them all.
She was beyond playing games and wouldn't let this person set the field. Krai was on her home turf and the full extent of her skills still had yet to be witnessed on the battlefield. Even what she had just displayed with the skeets was mere child's play in her ability with a gun. Her eyes shifted back to Krai, keeping the drones, active or down, still within her sight line as a single blaster remained trained on them and the other switching over to Krai. "And exactly how do you know my name? Who sent you to find me and why?" Having called herself a killer of Jedi and Sith, she knew the Blackguard or any group aligned to them did so. Still, that didn;t remove the possibility of her being sent from any other organization or government whose toes she stepped on over the years.

Krai had suspected her drones wouldn't last long, and was proven right. They fell to the ground with thuds. While their armor kept them functional, they were on training mode, so a direct hit was enough to incapacitate them. The smirk widening on Krai's face as she finished her circle and ended where she had begun.
Your dossier is quite extensive. I come on behalf of a man who, like yourself, seeks to better our galaxy. A galaxy where people like me are not needed. Where all people are united without the false and divisive Force religions. You have proven that you are both capable warrior and humanitarian. For that reason I have come to find you. So, will you join our noble cause? Or will you make me deliver bad news to my employer? As she made this last statement her hands moved slowly to the hilts of her Tehk'la blades and rested there. The Nagai waited patently, if Kia made any kind of motion, even a twitch of the arm, Krai would be ready.

Kia's head lowered a bit at the mention of a dossier on her being extensive. How extensive was it and was it merely a bluff? She had kept to the shadows and quiet, for the most part, getting people in and out of war zones without being noticed, though she had plenty of run-ins with soldiers and warriors of those raging their wars. So how could anyone have that much information on her?
There was only a faint growl that escaped her throat when the woman finished speaking. Was she being offered a job or was she being set up? Despite all that was said, it truly wasn't clear. She had to assume it was nothing but pretty words in an attempt to make her sympathize with their cause and lower her guard so she could be eliminated. Finally, she gave a scoff accompanied by an unamused smile. "Oh, really. Sounds like pretty words to me. There are no telling how many times I have heard that line spouted off by every government and organization, only for them to force themselves upon others to get what they want. Carelessly hurting others, claiming it is for the greater good, to bolster their own resources so they can achieve their noble causes. What proof can you provide to convince me of said cause? The way it sounds, this employer of yours has big plans. Such plans require power and people with power like that always follow the same path forward. Why should I expect this guy to be any different, especially if you have such extensive knowledge on me? Why don't you tell me what you all think you know."

Krai remained on guard, though it seemed they would continue to exchange words, not blows. To an extent this annoyed the merc, who wanted a good fight, but she knew her orders, and would try not to antagonize the woman further. So, to that extent, she would be fourth coming and answer all her questions to the best of her ability.
Your work at Kamino and Falleen, to evacuate those caught in the middle of the Sith's unjust wars first caught my employers attention. The skills you displayed during those missions furthered our interest. Now I'm here. And I can see that the reports were not wrong, and you are indeed a person worth my time and my employers time. As far as proof of our cause, look at what we are doing in Theed. My presence here is the only thing out of the ordinary for this operation. I offer you the chance to do more. With our funding at your back, think of how many more lives you can save. That is the opportunity I offer you.

Kia gave a faint scoff as Krai revealed the knowledge she possessed. Only those two encounters? That hardly seemed to say anything. It meant they didn't truly know her skills, nor anything about her as a person, to which she was relieved. There were some things she desired to be kept a secret to all except a handful.
But then, what remained of her unamused smirk faded when the woman directed her attention to the unloading of supplies as proof of her words and their cause. To some, it might have been enough, but Kia knew better. "Helpful, indeed, which is appreciated. Still, you've already made it clear that the reason you're here for is me. That tells me that you're arrival to present supplies is just a cover, good intentions or not. And still no different from others in power who seek to manipulate and work their way into the hearts and minds of those they wish to rule over or destroy."
Once again, a scoff came from Kia, though more towards herself than anything. It seemed that no matter what Krai said, nothing was going to make her trust the woman or their cause through simple discussion for with each claim the Nagai made, Kia seemed to have some counter. It would be an endless circle that would eventually lead them to fight and one dead. Still, she couldn't help but curious at what this organization was all about, why they truly sought her out, and if she could achieve what Krai said she could.
It was a constant battle in her mind, trying to figure out what to do. So, for now, she pushed it way and focused herself entirely on the woman. It hadn't gone unnoticed the desire for a fight, the hunger that emanated from the warrior. She could feel it, and perhaps, something else as well. Perhaps a test could reveal more. "I get the feeling, though, you won't be taking no for an answer. At least, not in any way that didn't result in my death, am I right? Since you showed up, I've felt your lust for battle, the hunger for a fight. You want to fight me. In fact, you want me dead, don't you?"

Krai gritted her teeth as the woman continued to be... difficult. This would have been so much easier if Krai had been allowed to engage in hostilities. But as it was she was ordered to play nice and keep things peaceful.
As much pleasure as a fight would give me, I have my orders to keep this meeting as peaceful as possible. But if forced to defend myself, I don't think my employer would blame me for anything that happened in the ensuing battle. But what would it take for you to believe me? Our Organization is doing good for the galaxy. More good than these warring states are ever going to do. And even more good with you joining our cause.
Against her better judgement, she relaxed her guard a bit. It seemed an unnatural thing for the woman to do, try and be relaxed, and none threatening. She was bad at it.

A small smirk crept onto Kia's face as she felt the tension in Krai. The feelings, the expressions, the words all pointed to the obvious. And she couldn't shake the feeling that even for her desire for a fight, there was something about herself that the Nagai didn't like. What that was, however, remained a mystery. Despite it all, though, Krai kept her composure for the most part, even as going so far as to relax the best. Seemed as if there was some sense of loyalty between Krai and this mysterious employer of hers. Still, how could she trust someone like this considering what she was feeling now? One last test would see just what she intended to do.
Taking a deep breath, Kia let her arms slowly lower to her sides, shaking a bit as they went as if extremely hesitant to lower her guard. Finally settling completely, she holstered her blasters. But that was only the deception. Quickly, she reached around behind her back to the pair of slugthrowers in place there. Pulling them out, she flared them about in a strange way, letting her arms cross in front of her as she raised them before curving back to in front of her. It looked like an action best used when wielding blades or whips, not firearms. During that motion, she fired twice. The first was when her hands crossed each other in front of her, both guns firing a single bullet each. Their path normally would be directed outward and upwards into the trees, completely out of the way of her target. Same with the second shots that came as her arms curved downward, which would have crossed each other from the angle of the guns and hit nothing but dirt a few feet on each side of Krai. But this as where her skills in the Force was to be shown. Skilled enough with Telekinesis, she was able to grab the bullets the moment they were released from their homes and manipulate their paths. The first two curved from their upward path back down towards Krai, targetting her the front of her shoulders while the second shots crossed paths and curved inward to impact the inner part of her calves.
Nothing else came from Kia as she waited for the response of Kria. Would she make an attack, or hold off with a single warning? Would they fight, or would the restraint give Kia enough reason to put her guns away and listen further with the chance of seeing what lay behind the offer?

A split second to think as the woman's hands disappeared behind her back. This was it, an important moment for Krai. She could either attack as every instinct in her body (both organic and none) was telling her to, or she could keep to the plan and keep the trying the non-violent approach. The guns appeared from behind her back. A scowl formed on the Nagai's face as she dropped down low and rolled back toward the tree line. Drawing her blades as she came back to her feet. It would be hard for Kia's shots to find their mark on the moving target. Further retreating into the forest, to obstruct herself from further shots. Her blades gripped tight in her hands, shaking from her own frustration that she had run and not gone in to fight. But perhaps in the long run it would be for the best, the Illusionist would not have been pleased.
I say this one more time: Fighting is not why I was sent. But if you wish to do battle, speak plain, so we may have an honorable duel!

With but a few seconds to react, Krai had proved herself alert and fast enough to dodge even Kia's faster and surprise assaults. She couldn't help but smirk at the chosen form of evasion, though it was really her only option aside from being to jump over them. As such, the bullets simply curved and passed by each other, nothing but air to sing their song to. Now, the woman had disappeared into the tree line, blocking Kia's view. But it wasn't completely required. That desire for battle still lingered in the air faintly and Kia would be ready for a surprise attack.
She had expected an almost immediate retaliation. But it didn't come. It seemed almost a minute later before she heard the woman's voice again, echoing off the trees. She listened and her head dropped. It brought about a small sense of surprise seeing that this woman who sought battle could actually restrain herself when attacked out of the blue. It seemed she was loyal to the employer of her's and the mission given to her. Taking a deep breath, Kia relaxed and stood straight while replacing her guns. "I see. So your loyalty to this employer of yours is enough to hold back the desire for a fight? I can respect that and as such, I'll hear you out about this little offer of yours. Tell me more about this organization you follow and the man in charge."

Still shaking, Krai stepped cautiously out from her hiding place. Noticing that Kia had replaced her weapons, Krai sheathed her blades. She took a deep breath and stepped back into the clearing. Sufficiently impressed herself, she knew it was now even more important to land this recruitment. But this woman seemed to respect honesty, so, honesty is what she would get.
The Organization, as it is called, is a foundation that was formed to bring peace and prosperity to the galaxy, primarily by opposing and ultimately bringing an end, to the militarized Force-based religions that have cost trillions upon trillions of lives in their endless warring. I am one tool that the Illusionist uses. But their are a great many ways we work to achieve this goal. Saving lives is another. One I am not suited for, but others, like yourself, are quite adept at.

Kia smirked inwardly at seeing Krai shaking a bit. It meant she had been able to get under her skin or, at the very least, shake her up without warning. That was something she found some satisfaction in. But the time for tension had now passed and it was time for truth. As the woman spoke about the Organization, as it was called, she tried to piece together the puzzle about everything. The mention of Force-based orders caught her attention immediately, and though she listened to all that was said, it was this fact she wanted to know more about.
"Bring an end to militarized Force orders? So is your feelings about them?"

The shaking now subsiding, as Krai managed to push her aggression to the back of her mind, for now. But it seemed Krai had found something that Kia was interested in.
Yes. Nothing would bring me more pleasure than to watch their temples and strongholds razed to the ground. To see their twisted philosophies forgotten to time and never to return so no more harm may come from them.

Kia eyed the woman as Krai expressed her feelings one the Force orders. It was a sentiment she could fully understand. For the longest time, she hated Force-users in general before just recently losong the level of disgust. She had come to realize there were individuals that were worth while. But her feelings about the orders remained.
"I see. Then it appears we have something in common. I, too, despise these Force orders and wish to see them removed. Even the Jedi who carry claims of aiding and protecting others, though such action is rarely seen." She then gave a nod. "Very well. I would like to see more of this Organization you follow. It is not a guarentee I'll join, but perhaps your employer can help seal that deal."

A smirk finally returned to Krai's face. She had at least gotten the woman to agree to come with to meet with the Illusionist. It was more than she expected, but it would likely be a tense trip back to Port Town.
Very well, my men should be done unloading soon. I hope you understand though, that you will be confined to a limited area of my ship. Our designs are... prized. But until then, as long as you abide by my rules and don't cause trouble on the trip, you will not be bothered. Deal?
Krai extended a hand to Kia, to seal this part of the deal anyway.
