*Sin had stopped and turned around, her rage still eating away inside her as she stared daggers at Jashin. She had thought they'd shared more then a few intimate moments, she'd kissed him more then once. She hadn't expected him to follow her customs at all, she knew better then that, but Jashin being the first she'd ever even heard of a Firrerreo he could have at least mentioned it to her before. Instead of blind siding her with this sort of information.
"Foolish," she would show him foolish. How foolish it was to cross one of the Riso blood line. Then the woman appeared, and instantly is spouting off about off worlders. Which only fueled her rage, it felt like the runes were searing her skin, in reality they didn't look any different then any other time they showed on her dark skin.
She closed her eyes, and shakes her head, even her head felt like she were being burned alive. She doesn't even hear as she lets out a sound that would sound more like an angry nexu then a small Echani woman. When her eyes opened they were red, even the sclera was red, and then something none of those present had seen before appeared, it looked like the runes but they were shaped like a second set of eyes that moved and "blinked" in mirror to her normal eyes.
With bound hands, she stretched her hands upwards, drawing the sheaths upwards in their sheaths, and when they got to the point that joints would normally not move past, she strained, popping joints out of place as needed, as the tips of the swords come out of the sheath, she turns them inwards, crossing the blades and pushing outwards, the binders proving not as strong as he beskar forged blades. It hurt alot, but she was so consumed by the rage, and anguish that she didn't even feel it. She stared at Jashin, before quickly looking at his wife and does a very unladylike thing. She spits at their feet rudely.*
You are not worth my time. Enjoy spending your days with a woman that looks like the back side of a Nerf that fell from a chtutla tree.
*It had taken every bit of will power she had to find her way through the darkness that was welling inside her to turn away after hissing her insult at him, then sheath her weapons again.. She didn't even think she had the control to walk away, but her feet started to walk away, she didn't look at or even acknowledge Zalor. She brushed past Tanara, unanswering the woman. As she did though, she did mutter a long string of insults this time in a language native to Dathomir. She kicked over a gonk droid that got in her way as she stalked away from the gathering.

You say that you were there only for your own interests. But you didn't just deal with him there.
*She smiles warmly at him.*
I didn't have alot to do when I was there.. But I can remember seeing you there, in an operating studio for 7 hours operating on a being to save his life. That didn't do anything that related to Adi. Now did it?
*She sighs softly not willing to give up on him, he needed her help more then her own issues imprtance was. She continued to rub his hand gently with her own, her soft eyes never leaving his.*
Maybe, there is someone who needs your forgiveness before Adi...
*Her other hand comes up and pokes him square in the chest.*
...You. You need to forgive yourself, to move forwards.
*Her smile broaded at his words. Her other hand falling atop of his on the table. She felt good about his response, trying was all she wanted.*
You have no need to prove anything to me. I can already see who you are. Even though you don't see it. Farris, I live to help people, all you need do is ask.
*She leans back into the seat a bit, she was really hoping that food arrived soon, she felt famished. She rubbed her stomach soothingly, feeling a little bit embarrassed that she was feeling so hungry, she hoped no one else heard the sounds her stomach made in demand to be fed.*

The Twi'lek woman laughed and spouted insults - Jashin rather impassively yawning through it all. His head was pounding, and the last thing he needed was this gaggle of females hissing and spitting at him. To either side of Jashin, Shizune and Jakk both stiffened, their hands reaching for weapons. Neither Tanara or Sinina realized it, but insulting the imminent head of the clan was tantamount to insulting the clan itself. Such was a grave offense, only rectified by spilling blood.
"Nasset." Jashin muttered in Firrerrese, just low enough for the two to hear. "Nasset dene dyre." He finished, a little louder, and firmer - for Shizune's benefit. Slowly, the pair relaxed, and Jashin turned on his heel, walking with the aide towards the meeting hall. It was odd. Suddenly he found himself taking the lead, being the diplomatic one...was it so deeply ingrained and programmed, how he acted, how he behaved around his own species? Or had it just been that long, nearly five years, since he had been around others he considered his equals? Regardless, he felt oddly at peace. No more running from his family. No more looking over his shoulder for Shizune or someone from his clan. For better or for worse - it would all be resolved. "Zalor Anneri, you are more composed than your compatriots. An admirable trait, for a human."
At their backs, Sinina spit at their feet, and spat more insults. Shizune, stiffening, began to turn around - but was stopped as Jashin forcibly took her arm, and looped it through his own; as any gentleman noble should do. Shizune, Jakk, and the Aide eyed Jashin with something close to shock at this - and ever so slightly, the group dynamic changed. The Baron, ever so subtly, had accepted his position. Or, at the least, the fact that a certain decorum would be needed in the meeting ahead. Shizune inclined her head, accepting the offer without protest, insult, or complaint. Jakk, third ranked after Shizune and Jashin, walked to the right of Jashin at his right hand, albeit about half a pace behind. The aide, keeping eyes to the ground, followed directly behind Jashin, submissive.
Slowly, they entered the meeting hall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They made good time to the hall itself, entering the domed room with more grace than the assembly had hoped for. Looks ranging from surprise to impassiveness greeted the small entourage, and, coming to a halt, the aide bowed to the Lord Arcturus at his head seat, before turning to address the others. "Zalor Anneri, Baron, if you will take a seat at the table. The Baroness, myself, and Lord Ryder shall take our place at branch family Deo's seat and table." In the center of the domed meeting hall, a single table with two chairs, and two glasses of water had been provided. Similarly, at each chair in the circle, similar tables had been placed - with the exception of the Patriarch's seat, who sat alone and without refreshment. More and more, this felt like a hearing than a meeting. There were, perhaps, various other reasons the Firrerre didn't want this to happen on Serenno: getting away from Serenno justice systems being among them. Moving to take his seat, Jashin, in a fit of brashness, loudly scooted the chair backwards, before kicking his feet up onto the table - knocking his own glass of water over. The Baron's impulsiveness was met with stony silence, Arcturus eventually clearing his throat and addressing the assembly.
"We begin the pronouncement ceremony, and abdication of the Patriarchy. We also begin the trial of so called and self-named "Jashin" Rau, otherwise known as Rau Drago." Began Arcturus, looking very tired and old in his chair.
"I object!" Interrupted Jashin, standing up from his chair in a rush.
"And as the Baron doesn't claim his title, we unanimously ignore your objection. You will have one chance, and one chance only for defense, Rau Drago. It will be fair and just - but you will allow us our deliberations. For you've left us with much to deliberate." Continued Arcturus, without missing a beat. "First and foremost, the witness account. Zalor Anneri, Jedi Knight...give us a protracted account of the events leading up to, and including what transpired, on Dantooine. Keep in mind your report is to one of the legally ruling bodies of Serenno."
Zalor seemed surprised at Jashin's comment, made almost in a whisper as they proceeded to the Memorial Hall. Not but hours ago, aboard Agent Ryder's ship, this same Firrerro was uttering whatever curses he could come up with at Zalor. He had a change of heart after seeing Zalor's behavior, compared to Tanara's and Sinina's, which Zalor understood. And yet, there was still a hint of disdain in Jashin's voice when he spoke. Zalor sensed that Jashin still didn't trust him. And yet, this change of tone pleased Zalor - it meant that there was a possibility, even a remote one, that they could find common ground.
As they entered the hall, which was now adorned with the banners and flags of the government of Serenno, many eyes from the Serenno Lords met Zalor's, and he could tell that many of them were surprised at his presence. Given that Jakk had operated their rescue mission to Dantooine without the Lords' knowledge or approval, Zalor understood their bewilderment. In fact, of all the Serenno Lords in the room, Arcturus himself seemed the least surprised. Zalor wondered if Arcturus knew that Zalor was a Jedi when they met in the Ja'raak Inn, even with Zalor still in his Naboo clothing. Maybe this was all his doing after all.
The tension that Zalor had felt as he entered the hall continued to rise, even as Zalor and Jashin took their places. Zalor was very careful to do everything exactly as he was told, as he was fully aware that this was, more or less, an official government hearing. Zalor knew he was about to get a crash course in the politics of the world of Serenno. As a professional diplomat himself, however, he was not the least intimidated. He had been to many such hearings and trials. Even though Zalor loathed politics, he was still well versed in it.
When he was called upon, he nodded to Lord Arcturus and stood for the entire room to acknowledge his presence. He turned and shot one calm glance at Jashin, nodded towards him as if to give the pirate some comfort in the young Jedi's presence, as Zalor was now almost the equivalent of an arbiter on Jashin's behalf. Then, he turned to address the council of Lords. He cleared his throat, took a deep breath, then - with a calm yet commanding voice, began his testimony, as if rehearsed.
"I am Jedi Knight Zalor Anneri. I have been a member of the Jedi Order for almost nine years. However, up until about a week ago, I was a dormant asset of the Jedi Order, and was just recently reactivated by Jedi Master Raven Alora of the Felucian Conclave, due to the pressing need for combat aid in the war against the First Order. I digress..."Zalor quickly realized he was boring the council with his credentials, and skipped straight to business.
"Five days ago, right here in Theed, a couple of my companions and I were approached by Mister Jakk Ryder..." Zalor nodded to acknowledge Jakk, who was seated next to the Baroness Shizune... "...who I understand is an agent in your government's intelligence network. When we spoke, he made it clear that he was already aware of an acquaintance-ship between Rau Drago and one of my companions, a Miss Sinina Riso, and appealed to the nature of that relationship to request our aid. He had us meet at the Rhyatt Inn, which is a rather seedy inn in the slums of Theed, for our briefing. He informed us that Rau Drago had, by some unknown means, acquired vital information pertaining to Alliance military positions in the war against the First Order, after which Rau Drago immediately made his way to the planet of Dantooine, presumably to see the military data safely to the hands of Alliance Command and out of the hands of the First Order. According to Agent Jakk Ryder's briefing, Rau Drago crashlanded on Dantooine after his ship suffered combat damage from ship engaged in the Battle of Dantooine, after which he became stranded on the planet's surface. I, and my companions, were tasked by Agent Ryder to go to Dantooine and extract him immediately. We were informed by Agent Ryder that your Lordships had no knowledge of his presence here on Naboo, or his knowledge of Rau Drago's whereabouts. He also stressed that your world is part of a Coalition of worlds that wish to remain neutral in the war between the Alliance and the First Order, and that Jashin's presence on Dantooine and his possession of Alliance intel and his intent to return said intel to Alliance Command, even for merely payment or a reward of some form, would effectively break Serenno's neutral stance in the war and make your world appear to side with the Alliance. All of this information was provided by Agent Ryder prior to my team's departure to Dantooine."
Zalor could feel the tension rise to an almost fever pitch after he had said this. He could see some of the Serenno Lords mumbling amongst one another, and, in the corner, he could see Agent Ryder nervously sweating. Zalor had no intention of being dishonest, however, and he continued his testimony after a short pause.
"My team of companions and I accompanied Agent Ryder aboard his ship to Dantooine. Agent Ryder brought us to Rau Drago's last known coordinates, which was a communications bunker for the Alliance. When we arrived, the bunker had been captured and was held by the First Order. My team and I were forced to fight through waves of First Order infantry before we found Rau Drago on the frontlines. Rau was, in fact, in possession of the Alliance Intel when we made contact with him, and had also, in fact, coordinated with a Jedi Master and her battalion of Alliance troops and was attempting to lead them against the First Order positions at the bunker. He told me, himself, that he needed to capture the bunker for the Alliance so that he could use the communications array to relay the intel to Alliance command. As a stalwart member of the Jedi Order and an ally of the Alliance, I didn't question Rau's intentions, and my team and I proceeded to coordinate with Rau to fight back the First Order and their hold on the array. Within a matter of minutes, Rau, my small group and I were able to defeat the First Order infantry at the bunker and capture it, after which Rau proceeded to relay the intel to Alliance command, moments before the entire bunker was razed to the ground by a First Order orbital strike."
The tension grew even thicker now, as Zalor knew his testimony would make Jashin out to be a collaborator with the Alliance and potentially break Serenno's neutrality. Now came the tough part. Without waiting for Lord Arcturus or any of the other members of the Serenno Lords to respond, Zalor continued, now with a more persuasive tone. He stared at the Serenno Lords, as if daring them to challenge him...
"Before I conclude my testimony, allow me to say this: I saw firsthand the devastation the First Order brought upon Dantooine. Even though I was only tasked to extract Rau Drago, I had to fight this new brutality of the organization we know as the First Order to get to him. I could've subdued Rau and taken him from the planet easily, but when I first met Rau, I didn't see an exile; a pirate with nothing to lose, only out to make a quick few credits off of the galaxy's misfortunes. I saw a man - a warrior - determined to do what he thought was right, because he saw the evil, the Dark Side of the Force in the First Order, as I did. Let this council know that the intel Rau Drago sent to the Alliance played a significant part in the cease-fire issued by the First Order that followed. Had that cease-fire not been issued, thousands, even millions more lives on Dantooine would've been lost to the First Order's savagery."
Zalor now turned to face Jashin and looked him squarely in the eyes, before pointing to him. "The Firrerro that sits in that chair is a darned hero. Regardless of your stance on the war, Drago Rau saved lives. Countless lives. And as a member of the Jedi Order, I allowed him to do so because I knew that that's what he wanted. So if there is to be any punishment on his behalf, let it be accounted to me. And if that doesn't suit your Lordships, then, at the very least, let it not be so severe. Allow this 'Jashin' whatever dignity you can spare him. He deserves it. That is all I ask."
Zalor finally fell silent, waiting to hear Lord Arcturus's and the Serenno council's response.
Silence.
There was only silence. Squirming in his seat, Jashin shifted uncomfortably from side to side, a hand coming to rest on one of his weapons. In unison, the some-odd forty battle droids in the hall leveled their rifles at the man - prompting him to quickly and hastily take his hand away. Whispers filled the room, and Arcturus held his hand up, silencing the voices.
"Jakk Ryder, is this true?" Arcturus asked, wearily.
"I..." Jakk hesitated from his seat next to Shizune and - presumably - her father, a grim faced Firrerreo with graying two-toned hair. "Yes. He collaborated with the Alliance, and collected a reward after the fact - though was unable to collect due to my forcefully bringing him here." Ended Jakk lamely, looking rather nervous.
Uproar. As one, all twelve of the seated family heads raised their voices, and, visibly, Arcturus seemed to age several years - as his hand came up to massage the side of his head, shouts of "Treason!" and "Outworlder!" cried through the room. Jakk, for his part, seemed apologetic to Jashin. While Shizune, muscles working in her jaw, seemed ever so tenuously perched on either exploding or shaking to pieces.
"Silence!"
The force augmented voice of Arcturus thundered through the room, shaking the walls and cracking one of the stained glass windows in the meeting hall. Slowly, Arcturus rose from his seat, and, as one, the branch heads inclined their heads in respect. This was more tradition and protocol, however; for anger and outrage was still clear and evident on every face - even among the more moderate supporters of Arcturus. "Rau Drago...you have erred greatly." Began Arcturus, walking around behind his chair to the sheathed sword and the great flowered tapestry that was the symbol of their clan. "Long ago, our lack of neutrality, our outright contempt for the Empire and other races caused the practical extinction of our species. The Traitor and his Starcrash Brigade sent virus bombs that burst in the air, filling Firrerre's atmosphere with an incurable strain of Hive Virus. But, not before he took the adults from our planet, leaving the children on the surface. The Traitor made what remained of our race watch as the virus ate the bodies of our children, still alive, until every life on our world was dead."
Picking up the sword, Arcturus walked back around the chair, to the center of the room, unsheathing the sword. A force imbued blade, forged in the style of the Je'daii of old. the grip and pommel was of polished bamboo, the guard a durasteel patterned flower - the same marigold-like flower emblazoned on every possible surface of the room - with the blade itself a gleaming and polished silver, a faint golden aura pulsating and flowing off the sword. Flipping the blade in his hand, he drove the sword effortlessly into the ground of the hall, the preternaturally sharp sword effortlessly piercing the stone underfoot.
"Since that time, what is left of our race has settled on Kinooine and Vartholium; our ways, our traditions, our very souls live on in the few children that now exist, who number in the mere hundreds. Safeguarding our species first, then your clan, is the absolute duty of every Firrerreo that lives today. For we Firrerreo nobles, the last of the Great Clans, who have ingratiated ourselves into alien worlds' political circles, such as Serenno, that duty is even more important. We are leaders of our race, keepers of what precariously balances on annihilation. We leverage what remains of our influence to ensure that our species may continue."
Shaking his head, Arcturus slowly walked back to his seat, before slowly taking his place once again.
"But you have spat on our ways at every turn. You have abused your position of Baron, turned your back on your clan, denied your name, and violated the neutrality of one of our species' largest benefactors - Serenno. Your antics were tolerable, amusing even, as the rebellion of a young sentient who had yet to understand his place. But you took it too far, away from rebellion and into outright subversion and treason by consorting with the Alliance. Beyond this, it seems as if you have completely abandoned your life debt and promise to your father, Dante Deveaux, and in turn have even further dishonored yourself, and by extension your clan."
"I'm exiled! You can't possibly expect to hold me to -" Began Jashin, interrupting, before he himself was interrupted in turn.
"You imposed exile on yourself! At no time did the Clans our even the Houses of Serenno impose such exile on you. Again, an attempt by yourself to subvert your duty, and to besmirch your name!" Snapped Arcturus, losing patience with his grandson. "By all rights, it would be well within my ability as Patriarch and Count Sorreaux to put you to death, or otherwise imprison you indefinitely!"
That shut Jashin up. Turning slightly pale, he shrank down in his chair. The other heads as well, looked at each other nervously. Their species was few, as Arcturus had said; the death of a noble, even a flippant one, was (while just) an extreme punishment in light of their circumstances. Holding up a hand, Arcturus was silent for a long minute, before dropping it to his side.
"But the blame, equally, rests on myself as well. I have been absent for over fifty years as head of this Clan. This to, was self imposed exile. My sons, Dante and Duval, straying so far from their paths as leaders of this clan, shamed me to no end. This...cannot be changed. But the third generation, the son of Dante, and our children after this...they cannot stray. For if they do, then what is left of us? For, now I am too old, and too weak to continue a rule, even if I wanted to. Dante is ill, and Duval is embroiled in the Civil War on Serenno. I have told all here that I will abdicate, as well as deal with my grandson. So, now, I shall make my pronouncement." Arcturus paused, taking in the gazes of all assembled.
"Aumari, the sword of the clan." Arcturus intoned, gesturing with a hand to the sword in the center of the hall. "It was used by the first Rau Carta, as his personal weapon. After he died, it was passed from generation to generation - each Patriarch meditating on the blade, and imprinting his knowledge and memories into the blade. Now it is less weapon, and more repository or holocron. A Force artifact. As is tradition, each Patriarch takes hold of pommel, and enters the blade, to be taught, mentored, and otherwise judged by his predecessors. I sentence Rau Drago to take hold of the sword, and be judged and changed according to our ancestors. If he emerges, and has been judged unworthy by his predecessors, then he shall be burnt up by the blade. In such a case, I will abdicate, and allow the next in line in our family to take hold of the blade - as has not been done in over seven hundred years."
Rising, the rest of the heads stood from their seats as well. "Rau Drago will either die, or will be changed into something that will benefit this clan. If he fails, then the clan will have true and present proof that he is completely unfit, and shall be able to move on."
"I, that's a death sentence!" Spluttered Jashin, standing from his own chair - the meeting apparently over. "Throw me in prison, at least! How is 'this fair and just?'"
"The blade does not change you, so much as accelerate you down your natural path. It doesn't turn you into something you're not capable of being. If you weren't born to be a leader, then you aren't fit to live. And so, you will die." Arcturus held up a finger, staying any words from Jashin. "But, if you survive the process, and still hold onto yourself...you will gain true freedom Jashin. Freedom to lead the clan, to change your name, to reject or otherwise tell the clan to leave you alone. The clan will have no choice but to accept your verdicts. Is this not preferable?"
Arcturus did not let him finish speaking. With a motion, the battle droids raised their rifles - Jashin apparently not allowed to leave until he had gone through the ritual - and, as one, everyone but Jakk and Shizune had filed out. Indeed, Jakk could only sit at the table, completely dumbstruck. Shizune, meanwhile, stood from her chair, bounded over, and slapped Jashin across the face with enough force to send him to the floor.
"Idiot! Idiot, idiot, idiot!"
As the trial of 'Jashin' Rau Drago progressed, Zalor began to understand two things: the first of which was that he was learning more about the Firerre race than he ever imagined. He had no idea that they were so few, and would certainly explain why he had never met one until he had met Jashin and Agent Ryder. Their intent to preserve the remaining numbers was so great that the prospect of killing Jashin for his crimes against Serenno seemed to cause a sense of great fear to ripple throughout the entire council. The second thing Zalor began to understand was just how right he was when he told the women on his crew that Jashin was about to suffer a fate far worse than any of them could conjure. From what little Arcturus had explained about the beautiful ceremonial sword, Aumari, the heritage of the Rau clan of Firerre, for Jashin to touch it could potentially result in either his immediate and painful death, or cause him to become the official clan Patriarch in Arcturus's stead - neither of which obviously appealed to the self-imposed exile.
Zalor merely folded his arms and watched as Jashin's 'wife', the assassin Shizune, who to Zalor's surprise, seemed to care enough about the pirate to be angry with him, knocked him flat on his caboose. He did nothing to intervene, especially with the regal battle droids still on guard, but he gave the duo an amused smile. "An idiot, yes, but...with heart, for sure. At least, it would seem, he now has a chance to make something of himself. A very good chance, I sense."
Zalor waited until Jashin got back to his feet, then turned to the pirate, nodding to the ceremonial sword. "Your destiny awaits, 'Jashin' Rau." Zalor now called him by his exile name, with the other Serenno Lords gone. The Force seemed to tell Zalor that he would survive, and that he was about to leave the name of Rau Drago behind for good.
"An idiot, yes, but...with heart, for sure. At least, it would seem, he now has a chance to make something of himself. A very good chance, I sense."
"Heart or not, he isn't an assassin! How can he possibly lead our clan? Have you listened to his idea of political negotiation? He'll die for sure! He has no concept of our ways." Protested Shizune, her voice trembling - mostly with anger, though, maybe, perhaps, with a tinge of worry. A hand suddenly fell on her shoulder, and she glanced at Jakk Ryder, who had suddenly appeared at her side.
"Forgive my impertinence, Baroness. But you must support your husband. There are very few people left to do that." Said Jakk apologetically, slowly removing his hand. Shizune Deo was a wild spirit, more akin to Jashin than either cared to admit: the fact they were paired together was, likely, no coincidence on the part of the elders.
A snort, and a wave, and Shizune turned around, walking away from the trio, heading for the exit. "You're all idiots. All of you." And then she was gone.
"Your destiny awaits, 'Jashin' Rau."
"Destiny, or inevitability? There's not much choice in the matter, is there?" Muttered Jashin darkly in response, as he picked himself up off the floor. Dusting himself off, he shook his head, leaning on the table, eyeing the sword. "Do you know what Jashin means? It's from an old Firrerrese root word, Ja'Sh'an. It means 'one who rebels against all'. I thought it highly appropriate." Jashin trailed off at that, before nodding at Jakk. "...Will the sword really do the things he said?" Unease was plain in Jashin's voice, and with little wonder; the Force and its abilities and machinations were utterly foreign to him. He had heard stories of the great powers of his ancestors and his father, but they were just that - stories. The sword, its glow, even its presence; Jashin could feel it, and it unnerved him greatly.
"...Yes, Baron, it will. Your father used it, and your uncle before him. Just as your grandfather used it before both of them. It is ancient, and powerful. But...it will not turn you into something you aren't. I would warn you, though, that time passes far faster within its blade than out here. A blink of an eye here could mean years within. There is also no telling who you might meet...and who your teacher might be." Jakk trailed off, nervously, distinctly not looking upon the blade in the ground. Very obviously, the blade made him nervous. Or, perhaps it was closer to say that he was afraid of it.
"So be it." Jashin said firmly, shoving off from the table. Striding towards the blade, he spoke evenly and carefully, acutely aware they might be his last. "You will marry Shizune Deo should I pass, and will inherit my title." And then he grasped the blade. His body growing rigid, his eyes lost focus, and the aura around the blade grew brighter, but, otherwise, there was no remarkable or obvious change. It seemed the man's mind was far away, in some other place; and, through the force, both blade and man seemed to disappear, a void where there once was a presence.
"You honor me, Rau Jashin." Replied Jakk to the unhearing form of Jashin. Bowing slightly to the man, he turned to Zalor, gesturing to the exit. "...Shall we depart? Times vary, but it is usually no more than twenty-four hours. When the meeting begins tomorrow, we will witness the second half of the ceremony. And the dawn of a new era for Clan Rau."
The Twi'lek simply shrugged at the retreating forms heading to the council chambers, then signalled to the astrodroid to follow her and Sinina. She swiftly caught up to the Echani woman and walked silently at her side. She could still quite easily feel the anger rolling off the Echani woman in waves. Not wanting to draw that rage upon herself, she instead focused on checking to see if the bugs she had planted on Jashin and Zalor were still operational. Unsurprisingly, her friend had found and removed the bug. Jashin however had not yet found it, but all she was getting was static. The Neubians must have installed sonic dampeners or something. "Well, so much for listening in on the council meeting. Let's just go get some drinks. What do you think?"
Without turning to face Jakk right away, Zalor nodded in agreement, still fixated on the now, seemingly lifeless form of Jashin as he stood holding the ceremonial Clan Rau sword. Through the Force, Zalor could sense that something profound had happened to Jashin's mind, as if he suddenly wasn't there in person.
"Sure..." Zalor finally responded after a few moments of contemplative silence. "...we can head back to the Ja'raak Inn and stay the night. On me, of course. I need to let my former employer know where I've been and that I'm okay. He's been worried about me since I left."
Zalor turned to leave, and only got three steps before he felt the urge to turn back around and stare at Jashin with concern. After a few seconds, Zalor realized that he still didn't fully understand how this strange, bizarre ritual with the sword worked.
"So...we're just gonna leave him here? Am I missing something?"
*Sin continued to walk, not slowing down, not acknowledging Tanara for several blocks. She didn't even know what she wanted. She had tried to slow her breathing. To think of anything else, but the tug towards the dark pit of anger kept drawing her towards it. And she felt like her resistance to it was wearing on her. She needed to distance herself from the meeting place, as if she didn't she would turn on it and do something regrettable, more so then already done.
She still felt like she were burning alive. Her vision stil hazy. Even the second set of "eyes' visible still. She shakes her head gently, trying anything she could to clear her head. But it wasn't working. She looks up and around, and quickly turns, entering the nearest Inn, not even looking at the name. She went straight to the bar, and grabbed a bottle of Tihaar, much to the protest of said bartender. She opened the said bottle, and started to drink. She wandered off to find somewhere alone to sit down at, taking very frequent swigs from the large bottle. Her mother always talked wonders of the fluid, but to her it was not something she liked. But she drank anyways. Again from her lips comes another string of insults in the same Dathmiri language, only made clear who they were aimed at by the familiar "Jashin" that popped up in them.*
"That would be appreciated Zalor Anneri. The Clan is not happy with me, at the moment. It would be best if I hid out of the way. Shizune as well, will likely come with us." Said Jakk tiredly, turning to leave. He halted, though, as the Jedi came to a stop behind him.
"So...we're just gonna leave him here? Am I missing something?"
"We must not interfere. It would be a grave dishonor and personal insult to do anything more. He fights a battle in his mind; for his pride. And there is nothing, nothing more important to a Firrerreo than his pride...I would tell you more of the process, but I am not a Forceful, and do not understand it myself. Just the stories." Turning to leave once more, Jakk masked the surprise on his face at spotting Shizune leaning in the doorframe, her back to Jashin and the proceedings. Walking to her left side, the traditional side for an attendant or aide, he offered his arm, and she accepted without a word. "Baroness, I assume you heard -" He began, before being cut off.
"I heard." She said tersely. Her lips pressed into a thin line. Stiffly, she waved at the Jedi to come, and quickly. "Let's leave. I have no desire to watch him die."
No reply. Not unexpected. She couldn't even be sure Sin even heard or understood her words. Indeed she didn't even seem to be fully aware of what she was even doing or where she was going. Keeping her out of serious trouble was going to be difficult, but she had a few ideas for contingencies. For now, she would just do her best to stay at her side, and she hoped the blue and white astromech droid would be able to keep up. The Echani woman certainly didn't have a slow gait, using her long slender legs to cover as much ground as she could, making it a little difficult for the somewhat shorter Twi'lek to keep up. She was thrown off for a second as Sin suddenly turned sharply into a doorway and very nearly disappeared from her view. Without taking her eyes off of the Echani, she spun on her toes slightly and quickly followed her inside.
She was a little surprised that it was an inn, but didn't have time to try to figure out where exactly they were as Sinina was taking a direct path to the bar. Once there, she grabbed a bottle almost right out of the hands of the bartender and started drinking it as she wandered off to find a table. Tanara quickly gave the bartender three times the amount of credits that the bottle was worth with a quick apology and a request that he bring her one as well before continuing to follow the echani. Once she caught up again, she visually scanned the area and spotted a table in the corner where they wouldn't be bothered by the other patrons. She gently placed a hand on Sin's back and carefully guided her to that corner.
Once they were both sitting comfortably, Tanara gave a friendly smile to the dark skinned Echani as she spoke again. "Just getting this out there, I'm not gonna try to match you drink for drink, this time around. At least one of us needs to be sober enough to find our way back to Raven and the others."
*Sin had sat down, taking another drink from the bottle. She set it heavily down onto the table. Realizing just how painful it was to lift her arm. She frowns, reveling a moment in the pain, it was unlike her. She shakes her head gently and then grabbed at her shoulder, wrenching forwards at it, and the sickening cracks of the joint being pushed back into place sounded. It hurt, and she'd bit at her lip hard to not make a sound at it. She then had to do the same style of action to fix her other wrist. She hurt, but at least she'd gathered enough control to not charge at Jashin in her rage.
She returned to her drinking. She looks over the bottle at Tanara, she could do as she liked, she wasn't in the mindset to really care or worry what the woman did. She herself was going to sit here. She took another drink from her bottle, already feeling its effects, she wasn't a drinker, heck the only other time she'd tried was when Jashin had made her breakfast. It was then that a passerby bumped her arm causing her to miss and spill some on herself. She glares darkly at the man and curses him with vigor.*
Sit down, Tiny woman.
*Sin growls at him, rising to her feet, the amount of liquid courage she'd consumed would make most things look like a good idea. She was small and had no built up tolerance. She stares darkly at the man, jabbing a finger into his chest.*
Walking to her left side, the traditional side for an attendant or aide, he offered his arm, and she accepted without a word. "Baroness, I assume you heard -" He began, before being cut off."I heard." She said tersely. Her lips pressed into a thin line. Stiffly, she waved at the Jedi to come, and quickly. "Let's leave. I have no desire to watch him die." Zalor quietly nodded, then joined Shizune and Agent Ryder as they proceeded to leave the Hall, taking note of the fact that they were now arm in arm. He turned back to take one last look at Jashin, as he was still somewhat concerned for him. Before long, however, he faced forward and began walking at pace along Shizune, to her right, his arms folded behind him.
Even though he knew what he said in the trial was right, Zalor couldn't help but feel guilty for his role in what happened to Jashin, and he knew he needed to get it off his chest for both his wife and for Jakk to hear. "I...apologize for what happened back there, for the record." Zalor spoke softly and remorsefully, trying to be as genuine with the two Firerre as he could. "If it makes either of you feel better, I did my best to try and defend Jashin, and you as well, Jakk - but as a Jedi, I was honor-bound to tell the truth about what happened. I suppose, given Jashin's position, consequences were inevitable. And I'm still just now learning about your rather strange culture."
Even though night was falling, they still had plenty of time before they would reach the Ja'raak Inn, and Zalor wasn't in a terrible hurry to see Tryn and the others yet. He wanted to get to know the Firerre a little better - so that he could learn to know Jashin better.
"There is no testament you could have given that would have saved my husband, no matter how glowing, Zalor Anneri. He turned his back on his Clan. This is unforgivable." Shizune said, still terse. Slowing their pace, Ryder released Shizune's arm - Shizune promptly crossing her arms across her chest. Clearly she was more than a little agitated still.
"Our species is an obscure one, especially after the Firrerre Genocide; even before, though, we had no desire to venture out into the galaxy among other species. Ask what questions you may. As a Jedi, one of the few respected Outworlder orders in our species' eyes, you have unique position to learn straight from a Firrerreo as opposed to a record or text." Said Jakk cordially. Trailing behind Shizune, still on her left side, he drew near to the Jedi to better converse with him. In the interim, Shizune practically power walked in front of them, her boots stomped into the ground as if to punish it for disappointing her. In general, sentients and pedestrians alike gave her a wide birth - her gaze more than likely frightening.
Zalor let Shizune take the lead in front of them as he and Ryder continued talking. He could sense that she was still furious towards Jashin for his actions, and he couldn't blame her, but he wanted to talk to her, too, and maybe get what info she had on her husband. That would have to come later, after she calmed down, and maybe had one of the Ja'raak Inn's specialty teas.
Something bothered him about the way the council reacted towards Jashin's actions on Dantooine, and he could put his finger on it. He frowned in confusion as he glanced in Ryder's direction...
"One question that sticks out in my mind is - Arcturus told Jashin that a Firerran's utmost duty is to protect their species, then their Clan. The other Lords didn't seem the least bit appreciative of the selflessness in Jashin's actions, and shuddered at the thought of executing him for them. So...just how many of your species is there left, exactly? How close to extinction are the Firerre, that they would fear the death of one of their own at any cost?"
So...just how many of your species is there left, exactly? How close to extinction are the Firerre, that they would fear the death of one of their own at any cost?" "It is difficult to arrive at an exact estimate. The official census that the Republic would give you is that there are, more or less, a hundred thousand Firrerreo alive, with the population roughly split in half between the worlds of Kinooine and Belderone - thanks to relocation efforts on the part of the Republic. In truth, not all of the Empire's sleeper ships have been found; many thousands more may still sleep in space, and still more refused to settle, instead opting to choose to wander the stars." Explained Jakk, keeping in line with Shizune's rapid pace. Ahead of them, Shizune snorted in derision, apparently listening to the conversation. Turning her head, talking over her shoulder, she maintained the brisk pace while adding to the conversation."The council is reticent to kill Jashin because he is the only child out of the two main family lineages - Sorreaux and Deveaux. To kill him would mean the main family would have to abdicate their position of authority, and let a branch family head lead the Clan." Coming to a stop, Shizune gestured, apparently at an intersection. "Where are we going?"
She needed to end this before something bad happened. Without hesitation, she opened herself up to the Force and started collecting power. Immediately, she became aware of just how much dark energy was coming off the Echani woman. It wasn't as powerful or painful a presence as Loki, but it was enough to cause her discomfort. It didn't feel like Sinina, it was as if there was some other being within her that had risen to the surface. That was something Tanara was intimately familiar with, and she had no desire to let someone else suffer like she had. First however, she needed to stop the echani and human from fighting.
She focused hard on the human first, forcibly pouring a portion of her gathered strength into his mind. She couldn't afford to be delicate in this case, and so she nearly overwhelmed his unprepared mind with dominant will. "Leave. Now." The non-Force sensitive man had no possible way to refuse her will and simply left as instructed. The lethan Twi'lek wasted no time and immediately turned her attention to Sin, while still gathering Force Power for her next move. "Vod gar ne'waadas at sheber daab bal udesii." She had a feeling the Echani would not appreciate her interference with the Naboo lowlife, nor her words that almost sounded like an order. By this point, she had a substantial amount of power gathered, almost enough for what she needed. It was risky though, she had never actually done this before.
Her grandfather had taught her a great deal of Force Techniques, but this was one that she hadn't tested before. She was going to attempt to draw the echani's anger into herself, leaving Sinina calm and cool. However, she had no idea if it would work, and she was certain that using this much power would cause her to have a seizure. Was it worth it? If it worked, yes. If it didn't? Well, she didn't really want to think about that, but it could backfire and make the dark skinned woman fly into a deeper rage and become entirely uncontrollable.
Tanara decided to wait to see how Sin would react to her interference with the Neubian before unleashing her power. Instead, she continued smiling warmly at the echani and gestured at the unfinished bottle of Tihaar. "Olaror bat, cad olyay su tihaar ba'slanar o'r gar cuyatr. Pirur laam."
Zalor stopped at the intersection, getting his bearings. He realized that they had taken off and landed at Theed from two vastly different locations, neither of which was the spaceport. As he looked south, to his right, he saw a bridge, the Jinn-Kenobi Bridge, spanning the length of the majestic Solleu River. Then, he knew exactly where he was - at the corner of Noble and Crown Streets. All they had to do now was cross the bridge, take a left onto River Street, then the Ja'raak Inn would be less than 100 meters on the left. Zalor could even see the Inn's riverside courtyard from here.
"That way." Zalor pointed towards the bridge, then darted in its direction, leading the way. "I'm gonna take you to the inn that I practically grew up in before I became a Jedi - the Ja'raak Inn. I'm a native of this planet, and I know Theed like the back of my hand."
As Zalor led the trio across the bridge, he glanced back at Shizune and Ryder and smiled.
"When I said in the hearing that I was a dormant asset of the Jedi Order up until recently, I was hiding here on my homeworld after my faction's Enclave was destroyed by what I'm pretty sure was the early stages of the First Order. I've spent the last five years working at my old stomping grounds: the Ja'raak Inn. It's the best inn on this entire planet. The owner, Tryn Andalar, is like a father to me. He's probably worried sick about me after I told him I was gonna start doing Jedi work again. The Inn itself may not be regal or glamorous, like the Royal Grand Hotel, closer to the Palace, but I think you'll like it."
Zalor fell quiet, allowing his two Firerre companions to utter their responses. After awhile, he added..."I do not believe Jashin will die. Call it a Jedi's intuition, but I sense great things for Jashin, although probably not as the head of Clan Rau."
*She watches the other being looked at her and turned away. In her haze, she didn't realize it was due to Tanara that the man left, and not her own intimidation. But with the liquid courage, she felt like she had done it on her own. She took another celebratory drink. She turned to the Lethan and thrust the bottle at her.*
Vode An! Pirur!
*She smiles broadly at their success. She slips an arm around the woman, taking the bottle back when the twi'lek was done with it. Taking more to drink herself. She started towards the door, almost with a stumble, but catches herself. She smiles again as she drinks. She looked at Tanara, then the nearly empty bottle. This stuff was better tasting then she'd thought. And went down easy. She jabbed a finger at the twi'lek's chest gently.*
