History rolls on small decisions, so Boland believed. Here it was simple: stay still and save or say something. He moved reluctantly. To his surprise, Grace, The Raven and Maureen were already gone.... The hound had followed. Shrugging he collected any and everything that they had around the ship. He then approached Kieran. A Tog intercepted and have a document to him. Looking at the papers in disbelief he boarded the ship. -Boland- "We're going.... " Grace cut him off -Grace- "We know." Looking to the child he began to speak but stopped. She knew. Nodding the man went and charged the beast up. They lifted up and rose into the sky disappearing into the clouds

Three ships come into view above Juvex City. On the ground two Juvexian troops stand watching -Juvexian Troop 1- "Told you.... they'll be back." His brethren in arms replied - Troop 2- "Ya.... How much do I owe you?" And so they landed . Smack! Smack! Smack! Into the same "IF Zone" , as the Juvexians dubbed it.... Or Dubhed I guess is more aptly put. They were starting to become a permanent fixture here for sure, Morrigan, her fat waletbook, psychotic but otherwise friendly uncles and their crew of what the Natives believed to be a cross between well paid body guards and babysitters. Two Tog Commando took to firing off a few shots to the sky in celebration. Many Juvexian Troopers joined in and testing their own guns. A few... well more than a few Juvexian citizens joined in.... 455 birds and two human fatalities were reported from this pointless misuse of ammunition. Whoo! who! Morrigan laid her weary head to rest in the freighter with Maureen in her arms. Grace and Boland got hammered drunk and past out on the floor of the Utopic Vulture O'Dubhui & Slaughter went on a tear of their own. The number of hangovers and the inevitable kneeling before the porcelain alter the following day was considerable

O'Dubhui and Slaughter had been at this for years. Time to hold your hand high and scream. And there was a time sit down and rest. So time had come to sit down and rest. With one hand on your gun

The woman say upright. Brushing the sleep sand from eyes leaning over kissed the little one at her side. Then slipping from the nook tripped to a sink. Splashing water in her face then looked up to the mirror. -Morrigan- "Not much fixing this...." Nice jewelry she wondered. No..... Nice weapons. She smiled.... IF dagger on right thigh.... Slipping on shoulder holster, then I F pistol, one under each arm. Shouldering bow and 40 arrows. 3 throwing knives, wrist dagger strapped to inside right forearm. Throwing back hair then second look in mirror. Snapping fingers. Lock picking kit in front left pocket. 10 grenades, two at the hip; two on chest..... And there she sat looking at the 6 in the bag

Dressed to the nines and armed to the teeth Morrigan slipped from the ship. She stood breathing slow in the nose 1... 2... 3... 4. exhale slow out the mouth. Repeat. Once, twice, then thrice. Just like she'd been taught so many years ago.... In her head she could hear the words coming after learning that exceptionally benign, healthy exercise: 'That's my girl! Then you calmly slip the knife into the back of the neck! Right between a pair of vertebrate. Push!!! And they're done like diner.' Grampa time.... She muttered -Morrigan- "And people wonder why I'm so messed up...." That brought out a laugh

Laoch was out for a Walk when he saw her. My niece... Shake of the head and feed exhale. If she wasn't... but she is. He actually said 'ouch' Out loud from the inner slap he gave himself. Walking over to the girl he stopped. Looking down at her -Laoch- "Out and about Morrigan." A quick up and down just to say what he saw, which he'd he'd already seen from 10 meters - 'Damn Morrigan you look like an armory! Doing something.... someone?'

Smiling wide -Morrigan- "Think that you know full well where my mind is at." Holding her state with his "Not a drop of fear and everything and anything can be breached." Eyes thinnning "My reluctance, strange as it may sound, is this:" Eyes in moving "is any of it worth killing?"

She allowed herself to be led. She trusted the man. As to what needed to be done and could easily be done she would wait

Plunkett had six men left. The tough officer though, mind mournful for the loss of Four good men. Four suicides? The loss of an entire species? All of them erased from existence. Even for The most hardened of individuals like himself that was hard to conjure with. Right hand sliding from chin over face and across hair he sighed. Plunkett had been in the sky over Taris... This was far more impactful. Looking out at the lay of the city he hoped helplessly

Colonel O'Dubhui watched on. Sgt Slaughter and three Tog Commando.... Nice hit squad but they had been hit - hard. His feeling was to hit and hit hard. Small numbers only heightened their chances of success. Watching his men he had no doubt that this crew could do something The pounding bodhran best had followed them from the ship and the pipes howled once more

Plunkett had his 6 men lined up in two rows of ten. They stood at full attention. Not a man moved. We he walked down each row he wondered what would become of them.... Now facing them he saluted and they returned the gesture.-Plunkett- "Dissmissed! !" His men scrambled back to their duties. He muttered -Plunkett- "What am I supposed to do - set them up with house cats?" Left hand scratching head Plunkett-"Big housecats...." All jocular aside,Plunkett truly worried about the men under his command. They were like his children. Head shaking slight and hands joined behind back he watched. In a roomy secure enclosure, adorned with vegetation and soil from Myrkr, sat three Ysalamiri The ear splitting screech of uilleann pipes and pounding bodhran beat could be heard in the backdrop

*It was Slaughter who saw him first. Tapping the colonel on shoulder the two approached Plunkett. Slaughter saluted -Sgt Slaughter- "Lieutenant...." and the colonel tapped forehead but said nothing

Plunkett snapped to attention. Saluting he then nodded to Slaughter -Plunkett- 'Sergeant.' Then turning to O'Dubhui -Plunkett- 'Colonel!' He remained at attention

*Slaughter stood quietly at attention but O'Dubhui began to speak* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "At ease gentlemen...." *Clasped hands behind back the CO spoke* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "We run a tight ship here." *Looking down he worked slow and deliberately with his words* - Colonel O'Dubhui- "But I feel that we should have even stronger communication." *Eyes rising up* - Colonel O'Dubhui- "Between Lamh Dhearg Manaan on your end and Oglaigh na Irandoideanne on our own." *He moved ahead but his words only emphasized those spoken before* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "You need get a good look at the Intel that we've collected Lieutenant." *The colonel lit a cigar, then stood quietly. Abruptly O'Dubhui spoke* - Colonel O'Dubhui- "They'll hide..... Trust me." *Taking a long haul off cigar he exhaled then continued* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "This will be a protracted bitter conflict." * Eyes narrowing he said with a mystified edge to the words* -Colonel O'Dubhui - "Funny thing is most of them have never been in a war...." *Looking Plunkett dead in the eye* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Sgt Slaughter and yourself as I know all too well." *Laughing at the the absurdity of it all* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "As you wish gentlemen." *Slaughter stayed his position with the colonel. The sergeant offered Plunkett a dossier, to which O'Dubhui responded enthusiastically* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Good man Sgt Slaughter!" *Meaty index finger pointing at somewhere between the lieutenant and the document* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "Take a look at that mess Plunkett...." *Shaking head* - Colonel O'Dubhui- "Seems that many have the insane idea that we exist in narrow writing threads on a computer screen that form some ridiculous childish game....."

Plunkett listened closely as Colonel O'Dubhui spoke. More involvement would be nice Plunkett thought.... And on the colonel went. But Plunkett tended to actually like The old officer's words. He was a seasoned warrior. The offer of more involvement hit Plunkett just fine. Plunkett accepted the document from Sgt Slaughter With an appreciative nod. With all wrapped up Plunkett saluted to Colonel O'Dubhui but remained, despite the dismissal, with the two -Plunkett- 'I'll have a good look at the Intel that we've collected.' He then stood with the other two officers looking over Juvex City The lonely bodhran beat was accompanied by the pipe

*Colonel O'Dubhui st of watching over the waste of a city. Three Togorian were moved through the IF zone. Sgt Slaughter diligently worked through a volume of Intel. It was going to be a long day.... The colonel wanted to move.... Waiting for Plunkett to see exactly what they were dealing with was all that was stopping him. They would talk* -Colonel O'Dubhui- "This all so basic." *The sergeant who was close by answered O'Dubhui's inner thought and Looking up answering* -Sgt. Slaughter " Yes sir, a three year old should be able to figure it out."

Plunkett reviewed the document quickly. -Lt.Plunkett- 'Well all that is holy....' Head his shaking head violently -LtPlunkett- 'More like full of holes....' And with that went through the volume closely. Then again. Plunkett took notes. Then more notes. Then going over it all again he wrote notes on the notes. The textual matter appeared illegible. But to Plunkett it was all clear. His notes were color coordinated and he could follow it with ease. He howled to his men. -It Plunkett- 'Get ready men!' The crew new the drill and prepared with speed. For what they knew not but Plunkett spoke little and when he did it was serious. A Togorian opened up communication with the Fart in a Windstorm. The Comm. was answered fast. After several minutesthe Tog was cut off -Co-pilot- 'Hold up fella; your use of Standard really sucks. feel like I'm at a veterinarian clinic.' The Tog slowed down and Co-pilot nodded several times.... -Co-pilot- 'Right.. right....' Nodding more he finally stated -Co-pilot- 'Look.... You peo.... things come at us with somethin intelligent and we'll talk. Then in a sing-song voice -Co-pilot- 'Talk to ya....' and with that he Cut the Comm. Co-pilot lit a cigarette. Looking at his mate he shrugged -Co-pilot- 'Those nuts want a ride somewhere I there think. They'll get back to us.' While the Togorian Commando knocked themselves out preparing, Co-pilot and Pilot knocked back more beer and killed more lung cells smoking. Lt. Plunkett, given the details of the discussion between his commando and Co-pilot opened up communication himself. Lt. Plunkett walked over to the Sentinel and was permitted access. Sitting with the crewmen, Plunkett offered the portion of his papers pertaining to entering Manaan space to the pair. They laughed observing it. Co-pilot spoke then -Co-pilot- 'People have these really dense ideas of travel in space....' Cotinuing he stated -Co-pilot- 'Like this nonsense that the hyperspace lane is like thr Linclon Tunnel; it's not.' Laughing as he shoke head, the Pilot took over the talk -Pilot- 'They have safe paths to everything all mapped out and they use that and that alone....' His mate cut in -Co-pilot- 'And there are a thousand others. We use those. Like entry to a plant's space. You got 100s of ways in.' The talk went on. Plunkett figured one thing out; these boys knew what they were doing. Plunkett contacted Colonel O'Dubhui. With a shake of the head he snickered. He muttered to himself -Lt. Plunkett- 'The Old man had to know those guys....' They were smart those two crewmen for sure, and they got that all on their own. But An Tiarna seemed to smell that on people. Plunkett knew the man. If he was alive? Ouch. Thinking away the officer knew where he needed to go....

*Meanwhile, not far from that place Colonel O'Dubhui and Sergeant Slaughter were deep in their own research. They engaged each other but briefly. More 'let me see this' let me see that's but little if any exchange - yet. They were sharp men; they never would have got where they were otherwise. That aside, their research now was singular. It was Sgt Slaughter who glanced and was Lt Plunkett moving towards them from a distance but he said nothing and went back to looking at the files. A hard fact not Slaughter: An Tiarna never kept people away with his genius defensive skills. He was a brilliant commander under all the screaming and excessive violence but that sharp mind was lost in the later. And that is exactly what made people why of him - very shy - fear. Slaughter's attention dropped the trip down memory lane and he returned to the data in front of him. Ordered maintenance of the Sentinels went on quietly. They were close*
