Briget Nommad was as close to paradise as one could get. What needed understanding was that each person’s idea of paradise differed – immensely. That noted, if your vision of The Garen of Eden was one of you sweating bullets and swearing like An Tiarna Dubh on a bad day with no alcohol and smokes in sight in a filthy machine shop, littered with tools and parts as you as you labored mercilessly dismantling and tailoring a ship into the animal you desired, then you understood Briget’s concept of bliss. This was where she was in her element. It was here that she acquiring inventory of the modifications that she had performed on The Utopic Vulture. From the stockpile at her disposal she had isolated the droid brain of an R2 astromech unit and another from an R5 unit. She also had dissected six V5-T transport droid and 3 S7-H7 Slicing Droid for the brains of the units. Selecting the brains of an R5, an V5-T and an S7-H7 she utilized them to enhance the power of the ships computers. The Girodyne engine was beefed up with an overdrive system and the power core modified, thus allowing for greater speed. Anti tracking beam tech was now present As Complement the ship had a YT-XC mini fighter and a Explorer craft. It carried 5 CEC Class-1 escape podes. The state of the ships Weapons still needed to be examined. Chewstobacco, one of her mechanics aided the weapons specialist Abyssin to this end Her work for the time being was over, on the ship. Briget now turned her attention to the Gráinne Mhaol, the Wayfarer class medium transport belonging to Ciarán and Laoch Dubh. Thoughts like freeze frames ran by at breakneck speed. Deception and speed.... She began to work

The boys now sat outside watching the woman and her crew rip the ships to pieces. Ciarán commented -Ciarán- "This is like watching a bunch of kids play with Lego blocks...." Looking at Laoch -Ciarán- "Think that that lot of freaks has a clue what they are doing?" Laoch muttered -Laoch- "They better; the baby they're at now is our beast...." Nodding in agreement Ciarán then added -Ciarán- "Did you hear that one dude? 'An lucht siúil' - that's what he said; this is getting Twilight Zone weird." Hand gesturing to the left as if tossing something off him -Ciarán- "Where do these all freaks come from?" Looking out aimlessly Laoch responded -Laoch- "I don't know but they, I guess that could be said we, multiple like rabbits." Both himself and Ciarán shuddered. Cian then laughed -Ciarán- "Almost dispair the species - hell all species." The two burst out laughing -Laoch- "We leave quite the stain on the universe." That statement brought on another spell of laughter. With that finally exhausted the two went back to silently watching Briget and her crew work on their ship

Maureen, mammoth hound at her side, wandered out from the ship. She sat but a few meters away from Ciarán and Laoch. They made for an eye-stopping couple. Strangers passing by were disinterested in pretty much anything but the sweet little girl sitting with the monster of a dog. She sat. The hound sat. Left hand brushed her nose; a paw passed over the hound's nose. And on and on. More than one snapped off pics with hand devices. Simple pleasures make the weight of another boring dreary day lighter and this the pair were doing just that without a clue that they were doing anything at all

The customization of the Gráinne Mhaol was beginning to take shape. Deception was primary. The idea was making a ship look every bit the opposite of what it was and this in itself was an art form. The body looked worn. The paintjob on the vessel was exquisite. And this work intentionally added to the subterfuge. At first glance it looked every bit a worn beast of burden carrying the wounds of many a year of travel set to stall and transpire at any second

Ciarán and Laoch both sat watching longing to do something. The more that they looked at Briget the more focused the longing in both men's hearts grew. As did many things

Work on the Wayfarer was in full swing. Now the brains dissected from droids were employed to modify the central computer of the Gráinne Mhaol. Briget had searched carefully. Dismissing some of that which she had gathered to use in the overhaul she looked through her bounty of spare parts. With the brains of an R5 astromech droid and a V7 slicing droid she salvaged another from a Mark 1 droid walker. Carefully she fused these with the central system of the Wayfarer. This would go Wayfarer, wayfaster with waymoreguns by the time she was done

A hand to each side of his face Laoch yelled -Laoch- "Guns! Remember that! Lots of guns! Joining the laughter Ciarán responded -Ciarán- "Big guns help you with that inferiority complex you have on size?" Laoch stopped cold a second then both bust out laughing again

Briget and crew were still plugging away. She had hit a particular point that required great care to fine detail. Two B2 super battle droids stood idle a few meters to her left, a grim reminder of days past and a personal project at present.Six obsolete Droidekas sat beside them. These were beautiful pieces of equipment. Equipment that Briget held quite dear. And as she looked to the droids then the Wayfarer, only to look back again a wry smile grew on her face. The super battle droids had big weapons but akin to winnie the pooh, B2 were ‘droids of very little brain.’ She turned back to her work thinking. Suddenly it all hit her…. Briget scrapped the idea of adding the B2 or Droidekas B2 or Droidekas to the Wayfarer and went another route. She sent a message to the two ships in orbit. She then marshalled her crew and they went to work immediately on the droids. What they had done so far was in effect modify a Wayfarer into a schizophrenic on a sick combination of steroids and PCP. Her crew leaned into work on the droids

Morrígu walked out with Boland. Both sat. After some time and himself spoke -Boland- “So… an lucht siúil, literally the walking people, which of course would imply… well everybody, wouldn’t it now? Where was I now? Right. Tis a colloquialism implying Wanderer. And by that we are talking a people who wander as a way of living. Their very lifestyle. A culture.” Looking around at the group -Boland- “Am I the only one who I am starting to confuse?” Maureen and the hound sat transfixed

Laoch sat with Ciarán listening. At Boland’s question Laoch immediately spoke -Laoch- “Yes.” Ciarán shot a gaze at Laoch. If looks could kill so the saying goes….

Before Ciarán shot Laoch dead in a moment of hot bloodedness, one that few of many would be overly stunned by, and as an act of kindness, both for Boland and those listening, Morrígu cut in and said her piece -Morrígu- “You’re did fine. And that is what we call ourselves now: An Lucht Siúil ~ The Wanderers” She smiles -Morrígu- “It will become as celebrated, and if history indeed repeats itself hated by many….” Eyes now cold vacant pits, reminding all just who she belongs to -Morrígu- “We will always own and defend the title, Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna….” Cold stare unmoving -Morrígu- “We will keep the beliefs and memory alive and defend the honor.” Chin rising -Morrígu- “But… from this day one we are An Lucht Siúil….” Finished she held her head high. None rose a word challenging her authority. The place was silent for a long moment. So quiet it was almost deafening. Then the woman continued “They say… when one becomes unlanded they lose their sense of belonging.” Her speech was in a low monotone voice “Their sense of being becomes lost.” As her words unwound she allowed them and them to speak, never changing "And the further away from that which things were.” On the final word her right had shot out, open then back on her knee “To this as they are.” At the last word sinister hand hurling nothing to the ground beneath “Then they lose themselves.” Drawing left back and to her heart “I say that being ourselves, keeping and defending what we were, are and always will be.” Chin rising high again “That. It is that which makes things eternal. We ourselves. Sinn féin” The words, in Common ‘we ourselves’ rode in the air

As Morrígu ended speaking, at that very moment the last twist of wrench tightening the final screw completing the finishing touch to the Wayfarer of Laoch and Ciarán, Gráinne Mhaol, turned. Symbolic. Work continued with the droids. The secret with these creatures in her opinion was not so much as in who to attack but who not to attack

The Raven sat watching. And he listened. In spite of his wisdom he could read nothing in the eyes around them. Nothing. Even to himself the message was sobering. Death was his very existence. Death was rebirth. This was from how he read it the end of an ancient animal. He turned his head looking at Morrígu for but a second. Then Boland. It was then that he heard the tiny voice of Maureen -Maureen- “What about An Tiarna?” The Raven rose to the question but he remained silent. Boland’s face twitched at the question but he too said nothing

Laoch sat processing what had just been said but offered no response. It was the voice of Ciarán that rose up -Ciarán- “Freeze on that one.” Head turning to the left -Ciarán- “What the kid said.” He waited with defiant eyes

The Raven stiffened up to the protest but waited. Everybody present waited. A thin smile crossed the face of Morrígu smiled and she spoke slow -Morrígu- “We keep and defend what we were.” Eyes locking with those of Ciarán “And embrace what we are until the Old comes back again.” Accenting her point “Which it will.” On that she stopped. The Raven was won over but still he waited

Although nodding Ciarán responded with a bloodcurdling howl -Ciarán- “Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna go bragh!” Laoch followed fist in air followed -Laoch- “Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna go bragh!” Immediately after Ciarán howled -Ciarán- “An Lucht Siúil abú!” His acceptance offered. Laoch followed -Laoch- “An Lucht Siúil abú!”

It was music to the Raven’s ears. Maureen followed -Maureen- “Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna go bragh!” Then her tiny voice screaming -Maureen- “An Lucht Siúil abú!” It was done.... Fiach dubh could actually hear his heart beat but spoke not a word. She was leading and…. And they were choosing to follow. They were the essential Blood that made the Heart beat. All was silent for a long moment. So long… so long that even the heart of The Raven fluttered in wait

It was Laoch, bold to a fault, who asked simply the essential question. Pure, natural and unaffected -Laoch- “What next?” Ciarán froze

The answer was so basic and honourable it left no room for opposition. Then she spoke from the heart unrestrained -Morrígu- “And our loudest comment, in Common will become -Morrígu- “Next year in Ahto.” She looked around as she spoke -Morrígu- “Even if we never wish to see that place again… ever." Leaving that hard reality up in the air where it belonged she continued "It is a galaxy under strong arm... and." Gaze still sweeping the room "It is still open and free unless you close the door on yourself." She was done and sat looking out intense at nothing at all. A wide open universe awaited those who wanted it. Boland sat speechless. Maureen was quite happy with all that she heard. They wouldn't forget the Old man, who she thought shot the moon. But they wouldn't be rushing to go back place that smelled like that fish n chips place they went to on Corruscant in another Life. That was good. Travelling. Was this a permanent vacation? Her mind wandered warmly. While she dazed Morrígu began speaking again -Morrígu- “I mean really; I don’t care what type of oppressive regime one is talking about, what type of people will be overly enthused about accosting a woman with an ugly bird on her shoulder, and a wee child?” Maureen giggled. The woman went backhanding the burly Boland in the left shoulder -Morrígu- “Yes, we are with a walking coke machine.” Mareen was now in stiches as Boland turned looking at the Woman. The “ugly bird” also looked as if set to fry the Woman
