Listening intently to the Emperor's plans, Petrovsky nodded in agreement. Dividing the fleet into three groups was a sound tactic. With the Emperor leading the charge from the center, Needa and Kasalle on the left and himself and Sauer on the right, there was certainly a good chance that this was to be a very successful operation. If the Emperor's intel was correct, then Mon Calamari would fall swiftly. And if the Alliance had little in the way of defenses, then they would sweep through and dominate orbit above the planet within hours. No plan survived first contact, he reminded himself. Even still, given the strength of the Imperial Fleet positioned over Taris, the Alliance would be hard pressed to slow their advance in system. With the Conquered Star leading the charge of the Right Fleet, the right flank would remain solid. And with fourteen other Star Destroyers supporting him, he would be able to hold the fleet's right flank nearly indefinitely. Unless the Alliance resorted to unorthodox tactics. But considering it was against their morals to use 'scorched earth' policies, Petrovsky was confident in his abilities and the abilities of those under his command. They would not fail here. Not with the utter extermination of the Galactic Alliance on the table. Observing the holo-map, Petrovsky continued to analyze the strategy. Glancing over at Kasalle, he noticed she seemed eager to perform. Such eagerness was welcome, provided she remembered her training. Glancing over at Needa, he listened to the aged Admiral as he spoke. Certainly a possibility. However, the Galactic Alliance lacked the resources to maintain any sort of reserve fleets to pull off such an action. Speaking before the Emperor had a chance to, he replied to Needa, even though the question wasn't posed to him.
"With respect, Admiral Needa, while your assessment is accurate, I disagree with the risks being so high and possibly costly."
Walking around the table, hands clasped behind his back, he made his way over to Needa.
"While I respect your expertise and the experience you bring to the table, your assumptions that the Galactic Alliance could potentially drop in behind us is incorrect. Given the latest intel reports from Imperial Intelligence, the Galactic Alliance's resources were strained, nearly to the breaking point. It is highly unlikely, given all that we have set out to accomplish here, that they would waste the time and effort to construct a fleet specifically to counter a strategy that we might employ..."
Stopping a few meters before Needa, Petrovsky continued speaking.
"Under normal circumstances, I would be inclined to agree with you, Admiral. However, these are not normal circumstances. The Alliance has been ailing for months. With the recent success on Dathomir and the Sith raid against Felucia, the Alliance is well and truly on its own. And given the strength the Emperor has amassed here, I am certain he has already taken your worries into consideration. Fret not, Admiral. Your concerns, while well placed, are irrelevant to the larger picture."
Turning on his heel to head back to his previous spot, he smirked slightly.
"With the simultaneous assaults across Alliance space, in coordination with our assault on Mon-Calamari, the Alliance will be utterly lost and left in disarray, unable to compensate for our tactics."
Returning to his place at the holo-table, Petrovsky eyed up Needa as he finished speaking. Despite his experience and reputation, Needa was a relic of days gone by. And while he never truly voiced his opinion of the other officers within the Imperial Navy, Petrovsky had the suspicion that Needa viewed each and every one of them as ignorant children, playing the tactics they didn't fully grasp. Regardless, Petrovsky respected Needa. Even though he didn't agree with the Admiral's concerns this time around.

*Everything was spiraling rapidly towards its destined conclusion, all the pieces falling into place. The Galactic Alliance showed its true weakness at last, and even the Jedi were reeling from the recent attack. Soku had to admit some bitterness that the disgusting Sith had organized this assault first... but the smallest of satisfactions came from the fact that they were not entirely successful. The Jedi were merely distracted; that was all the Sith could even manage.
However that distraction would prove useful in the coming battle. The Galactic Alliance's meager resistance was only delaying the inevitable that was the total control of the galaxy by the First Order. True peace, true order would come to the peoples of the galaxy. When that happened, then the Knights of Ren could properly deal with the Jedi...
He stood near the viewport on the bridge of the Ad Gloriam, amongst those gathered. His arms were folded behind his back, eyes on the stars, ears on the words of those gathered. The speeches, the strategy, the questioning. It was good to discuss strategy, every one of its angles, to ensure the greatest chance of success... however, he had to agree with Admiral Petrovsky's assessment that the distraction tactics were highly unlikely to come back to haunt the First Order.
Soku had his own plan, a plan he was no stranger to executing. The admirals could discuss fleet tactics; Soku's goal was the heart of the Galactic Alliance...*

After listening to the Emperor's plan, and then to Needa and Petrovsky's responses to it, Ishild studies the holoprojection that has been displayed for them all silently for a moment as she considers all that has been said. Like Petrovsky, she feels that Needa's concerns are unfounded in light of what all of the available intelligence suggests that the faltering remnants of the Galactic Alliance are capable of, but her past experience has taught her the value of holding something in reserve when it so often proves to be the case that few battle plans ever survive intact once the fighting begins.
Neither agreeing nor disagreeing with anything that has been said, Ishild suggests, "Why not make the arrowhead formation a barbed one? Explaining what she means further, Ishild says, Have the bulk of the flanking fleets participate in the initial blitz, while holding smaller battlegroups on each flank in reserve. The initial thrust will, in all probability, eradicate the center of the enemy's formation, but may leave some of their flanks intact. The smaller battlegroups on our flanks, the barbs of the arrowhead if you will, can then advance to deal with anything that survives the blitz, or, should Admiral Needa's concerns prove founded, act as a rearguard."

Being so far seeing the concerns on both sides, Kasalle had to mthink about it. True, she had partially read about the Battle of Coruscant as a brief chapter of Lord Vader's rise within the Imperial army, but given that the Separatist ships were always deemed cheap and hardly a challenge for even an Imperial Star Destroyer (few exceptions excluded) it was hardly discussed as a topic, as the priority of the lessons were more based upon the treachery of the Jedi upon the Senate and the Old Republic, thus having forced Chancellor Palpatine to form the Empire within the first place. Needa probably knew a lot better about these events, which unfolded in the past, but for her the Clone Wars were a chapter on its own, where she learnt for herself, that some useful Imperial technology came from that time, like for example the so-called "Swamp Speeder" plattforms and the LAAT gunships, which were in her eyes a wonderful addition for her Victory II-Star Destroyer squad, given that it was able to act unlike most Star Destroyers as a good support vessel within planetary atmosphere due to its smaller size.
Therefore she silently agreed with Petrovsky for the moment. On Intel's information they could always trust and the Emperor said as well, that most of their informations over Dac came from rebellious citizens, a large portion of the Quarren. The risk of a betrayal here was always given, true - yet given that the Imperial Intelligence, the secret service itself confirmed the weakness of the Alliance's fleet, it seemed unlikely. Should the Quarren dare to betray them, the consequences for them would be huge, as the First Order hardly tolerates traitors.
Admiral Sauer's words intrigued Jenia though, as the thought of a barbed formation was probably a good idea, especially when it came to the smaller escort ships like Victory II's, Vindicators, Arquitens and others. Probably they could offer a few Star Destroyers for those pocket forces, although it shouldn't be too many ships. The flanks will only work out for the Emperor's plan, if there are enough ships to keep them up.
"I agree with Admiral Sauer regarding the possibility of adding a clearer Rearguard towards the lines", she spoke as usual in her emotionless voice, daring so far to participate with her thoughts spoken out as well, "An arrowhead formation will always rely on the strength of its speartip, which would be among other ships the Ad Gloriam - so if we consider adding 2-3 minor Star Destroyers on each flank, with one leading always a battlegroup, we will hardly lose too much strength on the actual arrowhead, while ensuring that nothing will survive the following breach. And if we're losing ships on the front line, we can always call in the battle groups to join the arrowhead from the back, while previous rows will reform the arrowhead, allowing thus valuable ships and formost our Emperor to fall back into the center, should the situation turn out dire unexpectedly.
While with seperate battlegroups for the Rearguard, we can also give ourselves some time to react, should the enemy dare to surprise us with ships from behind our back, as Admiral Needa fears. They will give us enough time to realize the threat, acting as a puffer zone, while depending on the reinforcements we can always decide whether to change tactics or not."
She briefly waited, as she had talked longer than intended, hoping so far that she was able to support Sauer's thoughts while convincing her superior of the compromise as well. Jenia knew as a Rear Admiral herself, how important it was to cover the back of a fleet in order to keep the enemy at bay. Normally these ships had the safest job during a battle until the enemy would actually flank the entire fleet from the back as well - that's in the end why rearguard was always an important task from Jenia's point of view - without it causalities among the Imperial fleet would be higher.

Garrick raised an eyebrow and leaned forward, listening to what each had to say. Of the people present, Ischild seemed to be the type to be proactive in finding solutions to problems. He would have to speak with her at some point. Making a mental note to do so, he cast a glance over at Petrovsky. Interesting man, he at least stood his own ground when Garrick pointed out this flaw. And Jenia hadn’t proposed her own solution yet, interestingly enough. Rather, she seemed to agree with and expand upon Ischild’s strategy. Interesting. But for all of Petrovsky’s argumentd, it was not very difficult for a defending force to split their troops, such that only a small number would appear to be defending while the rest of the fleet jumped in behind them. After all, it’s what Palpatine did at the Battle of Endor, so it wasn’t completely impossible that the Alliance would attempt a similar trap. Or, worse, that they had some sort of secret fleet, similar to the ones Palpatine kept during the Republic, that would jump in behind and begin methodically destroying them. The command ship of the fleet was nowhere to be found, and the defensive forces appeared to be built around 20 MC-90 Cruisers and two larger battlecruisers. There had to be other ships out there... but he had a solution that could work in tandem with the barbed solution to trap an enemy within their own ensnarement maneuver.
“A barbed strategy seems like an excellent idea, although it may not be enough to stop a concentrated effort by the Alliance to preform a flanking maneuver with fleets they have in reserce. However,”
He moved his hand across the simulation table, bringing up four Imperial-Class Star Destroyers and moved them to the far back of the screen.
“What if we were to hold four Star Destroyers back in reserve? It wouldn’t deteriorate much from the actual push, and if we need them, we can execute microjumps and bring them in to the back line of the enemy ensnarement, allowing us to trap them within their own trap. We wouldn’t need to bring them in unless, as I suspect the Alliance will, they preform some sort of backline assault. After all, it would be suicide to stand up directly to our numbers. No... they are going to have to try something clever. Any good commander would.”

Jenia thought about Needa's suggestion, wondering first about the difference within the plan, before realizing it one second later. "So to say a Thrawn Pincer in order to confuse them, if they think, that we're going for a straight attack without covering our backlines, if I understand your right, Admiral", she inquired, assuming that Needa's thoughts headed into this direction of naval warfare, Given the estimated strength of the enemy fleet it can work out as well, while they could still work as a reserve, if we need them to. The only problem I see with microjumps would be the gravity wells around the shipyards of Dac - major shipyards like Kuat and Rendili tend to have these while we can't really perform any hyperdrive-related maneuvers, if the battle will be in close range to the star port. And we both know that the Alliance will utilize its effects by certain. This can however quickly result within their own undoing, should we break through their defences, as their ships would be trapped within the interdiction field as well. If we really plan to bring in a reserve force, we should station it directly in another system, so that they can attack straight the moment, when a hypothetical second fleet appears in our rear, entering the interdiction field as well. That way it will hurt them even more, when their reinforcements can't flee into hyperspace either." To some point she was glad, that she had recently spoken with Captain Wendel about the problems of their recent pirate hunt at Rendili, where she explained her subordinate the importance and problematic of the gravity wells around a major starport and why she usually prefered mobile interdictor vessels more. In the case of Rendili it slowed down the pirates by a lot so that they couldn't leave the system, thus being a clear catch for her, would their commander haven't proven enough competence to focus the only weakness of the Vindicator within a long run-chase, thus forcing Jenia to change plans within the intermezzo. From that point on the gravity wells became an advantage for the pirates as they had the faster corvette with a better hyperdrive than the Vindicator cruiser.
Thus she presumed that the Galactic Alliance would have similiar installations on Mon Calamari as well. It was more a reminder towards her superior than actual critique in his plans, as she still deemed the proposal as good, if the battle would occur outside the range of the shipyards. It was dependent on whether the Galactic Alliance was willing to sacrifice a majority of their fleet for the safety of their senate world or whether they were already preparing to evacuate as many citizens as possible before the First Order would send down the ground forces in order to subjugate the surface. Having seen the aquatic and amphibic equipment of the Stormtroopers on board of the Holocron herself, she knew that the ground forces were definitly prepared for the odds which the ocean planet could throw against them.

Harnan turned his attention back to the projection as Nicademus continued his briefing, laying out plans for the assault on Dac itself. The details did not particularly concern Harnan, since he wasn’t directly commanding any part of the fleet. He had a mission here, separate of the overall battle.
He couldn’t help but be amused as the commanders started to squabble over the details, rapidly suggesting different tactics. Needa was the most overt in his disagreement, seeming to think the Gakactic Alliance might possess some secret force or strategist that would easily defeat them at Dac. But if the battles the First Order has fought against them so far were any indication: no such secret existed. The Alliance would have surely utilised such a tool long before now.
Petrovsky seemed to have the smarts to understand the deteriorating condition of the Galactic Alliance. Sauer and Kasalle seemed to play off one another with their alternative options. Feeding somewhat into Needa’s concern about some sneak attack. He settled his gaze upon Nicademus and Merrik then. The only two men that seemed to have any control of themselves in this situation. One of them was bound to speak next, bringing the rabble to heel.
He split his focus then, sensing the greeting of Katsumi Ren. He was somewhat surprised to feel her presence. His sister had not participated in a lot of major First Order offensives. From what he had heard, she’d spent a fair amount of time running operations in the shadows. So for her to be here, was unusual. He touched his mind upon hers in return greeting. He might have to find her after the briefing, to learn why she was here

A blade is only useful when there is someone on the other side sir. That is why there are lots of sayings of beating swords into plows. Although he felt there would never be total peace as there will always be people trying to rig the system in their favour someday Xeonon wished that there would be no major parties to oppose the Empire. I have always felt that the first Empire under Palpatine failed because he held it to tightly. He sowed fear, and used extreme force to subjugate populations which made people fight even harder against him. Just because a local Moff is bored it doesn't mean that they can execute a man for stealing to feed his family. All the leaders are already disciplined and will do as you say, they may grumble and complain but ultimately your word is the final one.
The only reason the Victory Without War campaign failed was because of self important Moffs who wanted to return to a more militarist approach to the Empire. By turning those plows back into swords they nearly brought ruin to the Empire within the galaxy.
Octavian wont be you. He wont need to be. I would hope he could be both, ready for war but wanting peace. The only thing you can do to influence his future is guide him and ensure he is educated with what he needs to rule.

Merrik stood near the Emperor at the table, watching with interest as the various commanders spoke, and more importantly at the reactions of those listening to them. After the conversation had spun up a little bit the blond haired man cleared his throat slightly allowing a moment for those assembled to turn their attention to him before speaking in a calm almost emotionless voice. Admirals, as much as I applaud your tactical thinking, and your desire to be ready for all circumstances most of these concerns are of no consequence to us. Raising a single pale finger on his right hand he continues. First, the Galactic Alliance is bleeding material and territory by the day. He raises a second finger. Second, they have no secret fleet. I understand what secret means and how one might believe that we might have missed one, but trust me, we did not. Another man might have said such things with pride but it was delivered in the same flat tone one might ask for the next day's supply report. Raising a third and final finger he continued, eyeing each of the assembled commanders in turn. And Finally, even if they had secret military resources a their disposal they would be in no position to use them once the battle has begun. There are certain factors of this operation that you are unfortunately going to need to be left in the dark about, but believe me the Alliance will be in no place to hit us from behind. Again he delivered a line in his usual flat tone that many of his predecessors would likely have said with smug satisfaction. This was his job and he would do it well, but he wasn't going to hold his knowledge over these people. They needed to be kept in the dark about certain aspects of what his agents would do, but he wouldn't take joy in knowing more than them, it was not his way.

Being somewhat surprised that the officer, who was so far mute for the time of the conversation spoke up, Jenia mustered him with her usual cold expression as she used to with most persons she saw. The voice made obviously clear from where these informations came, no matter if the present Admirals knew who this man was or not. The time with Colonel Sigil had shown Jenia already a taste of how much she could value Intel informations. Being so far aware what this statement meant, the Rear Admiral didn't continiue further within her explanations, but solely looked expecting towards the High Admiral and the Emperor in order to see if there was more to be said or not. If Intel itself said that there was no secret fleet, then there was no further debate necessary regarding the formation. She trusted the secret service more than enough to know that these words weren't said easily.

Garrick new better than to go against Imperial Intelligence. He had never liked them, the secret-keepers, but he had a begrudging respect for them and the work they did. And they were almost always right. And there was no point in arguing pointlessly. The only reason he had brought it up was because it was, and still was, a serious problem with the plan in his mind. Still, he had to admit that High Admiral Petrovsky did have a point. The Alliance surely would have played a trump card by now. Their nation, by the intelligence reports, was crumbling as the small group here spoke. Maybe he was being overly cautious. But that had never hurt him in the past, not did he intend to let it now. He had a nagging feeling that things weren't as they seemed, but he kept the grievances to himself. As for the armored man he had noticed out of his peripheral vision, he was relatively sure he would be one of those trigger happy "shoot first as questions later" types. Not what a military needed. "Very well, Director. Perhaps I am being overly cautious."

After having said his piece, he elected to not add any more input into the conversation, simply because he wanted to see how well Kasalle, Sauer and Needa handled themselves. And, impressively, they worked together quite well. The original plan was sound, but so were the suggestions made, in order to try and alleviate some of Needa's concerned. A good group. Nicademus chose his people well. Having never worked with any of them, he wanted to get a feel for him. Needa's concerns and overly cautious nature did a disservice to his intellect. The man had survived the Battle of Coruscant. He was more experienced than himself, Sauer and Kasalle combined. But that overly cautious nature was his weakness. Kasalle was a lateral thinker, trying to expand on the original battle plan and bouncing ideas off of the other ideas present. Sauer was quite, but helpful. Strategic. Methodical. She would serve as his second quite well. All in all, he approved of the group and how they tried to solve the issue, even it if was relatively pointless. And then there was Harnan. Large, imposing and always brooding. Built like an ISD with the fuse of a defective pop-detonator and the temper to make even Darth Vader take a moment's pause. Harlan disliked him, but he was a tool, and even tools had their uses, most of the time. And then Piett spoke up as he found his position alongside the Emperor, who had remained rather silent through the entire discussion. Listening to Piett, Harlan nodded in silent agreement. Most of this knowledge had been given to him beforehand. Being the High Admiral did have a few perks. But the heavily classified intel would remain under lock and key, so to speak. While Petrovsky personally disliked how the ISB handled things, he respected Piett for not letting the power of his position to go to his head. Casting a short glance over to Nicademus to see if they were wrapped up, Petrovsky continued to observe and listen, allowing the Emperor a chance to speak now.

You did just miss a rousing speech by the Emperor himself. Panno had indeed been inspired by the speech as had many others who heard it. Although he had avoided cheering and chanting alongside the others near him when he heard it even now he still felt the nationalism beating in his heart. But he never said where we were going but I am willing to bet that it's already been leaked to the Alliance though. Wherever we are headed it is going to be ready for us and the fighting is going to be thick. Honestly besides coming to see you I have been pretty busy working on the personal armour of the Emperor, it seems he is going to be joining us in more than name on this one. Having served the man for more than a decade he was always surprised to see him on the front lines with his men. Every time he feared for the mans life and every time he came away in one piece. This time Panno would ensure that he would come back alive. Kortos couldn’t help but wonder if Panno thought all of The Emperor’s speeches were rousing. Personally, they were somewhat hit or miss for him. Unlike some of the nationalists, Kortos has not joined out of devotion to The Emperor. That was why some of the man’s speeches had fallen upon deaf ears. He considered Panno’s response a momentThe Emperor? On the front lines? It must be a pretty large target... I winder...As Kortos trailed off, his attention was caught by the arrival of one of the few female Knights of Ren. As he recalled, her name was Katsumi Ren. He suspected though, that like the others, that was not her real name. He smiled behind his mask, before shifting his attention back to PannoWell that was... unusual... I can’t say I’ve known a Ren to acknowledge us... What have you been up to back on Muunilinst?

Harlan Petrovsky [Retired] Jenia Kasalle @ishild Garrick Needa Merrik Piett Harnan Ren Nicademus allowed the commanders to discuss and converse together. This gave the Emperor an opportunity to observe those under his command and understand their views and tactics better. Garrick and Petrovsky stood among them, as they should, for former was a veteran of many wars and battles, the latter was among the most prestigious of naval commanders in the Imperial Navy. Jenia and Ishild spoke as well, though they lingered under the shadows of those who spoke first. Yet, they still had their own suggestions in mind, altercations to Admiral Needa's counter-proposal. In the end, his worries were dispelled by the words of Director Piett. The Emperor knew he was right to trust the man who stood beside him with leading and administrating Imperial Intelligence. Without this valuable intel, Nicademus may have been as cautious as Garrick was. When I need cautious tactics, rely upon Admiral Needa. When I need bold maneuvers, rely upon High Admiral Petrovsky. The Emperor spoke, complimenting the two who spoke the decisive opinions involving the strategic talks. Nicademus slowly moves his hands to be clasped behind his back, looking at all those present. He had indeed chosen and promoted the right people to command his fleets and armies. This, this very moment, was what showed how powerful the First Order truly was. Disciplined, resourceful, educated, and the willingness to voice their opinions... they would be the models for the future commanders to come. The Emperor looks at the younger officers and those who were not as high in rank.Learn from what was said here, my subordinates. The First Order is not always bold, but not always cautious. We use both means to ensure our victories, our glory, and our presence in this galaxy. Your words have been insightful. For I was taught once that knowledge is never absolute, it has an ever-changing nature. Every day brings a new piece of knowledge to one's mind.Nicademus then changes his focus back to the matter at hand.I understand your concerns, Admiral Needa. If the Imperial Intelligence was under anyone lesser than Piett or had not acquired the information we needed, then I would be as cautious as you are. We must not underestimate the tenacity of the defenders, but we need not worry about any hidden cards. The Galactic Alliance is hemorrhaging its resources, fleets remain without full composition, and worlds have left the jurisdiction of the Alliance. Without a worry in our mind, we must press forward with our aggressive stance and ensure to strike swiftly and hard upon the capital world of Mon Calamari. His gloved hand lands a firm hit upon the table that they all stood around.Make no mistake, the Galactic Alliance is finished. We merely need to tip the scale and we will achieve absolute victory. The greatest victory since the founding of the FIrst Order! The victory that will ensure our absolute dominance within the galaxy! The Emperor then snaps to attention, raising his hand in a curt salute. This caused the entire crew to follow suit.Ad Gloriam! Ad Victoriam!

"Ad gloriam! Ad victoriam!", Jenia replied nearly mechanical although patriotic, while everything else was settled.
Again the Emperor has shown his wisdom and she felt to some portion like a fool, probably similiar to how Captain Wendel felt, when Jenia overtook command of his Vindicator-cruiser in order to pursuit a pirate crew, which otherwise would have damaged Wendel's ship if he would have gone by the methods of regular protocol. To some portion she felt guilty, as she actually considered the possibility that Needa could have been right, but she was rather relieved that her faith in the Emperor's wisdom hasn't abbandoned her. The First Order could hardly be compared to the likes of previous Imperial organisations, where desasters like the Battle of Endor were a regular procedure. They had learnt from past mistakes and won't overestimate nor underestimate their foes as easily as the past Empire would have. Not under a leader like Nicademus Delvardus, Emperor of the Braxant Empire and neither under his direct subordinates. She learnt from the conversation that none of the present Admirals was willing to believe in the pure invincibility of Star Destroyers against their opponents as previous Admirals tended to do, even with each Resurgent-Star Destroyer within the fleet being far more effective than most vessels within the galaxy.
Under the command of each of these fleet admirals she could gladly work, as it increased her hopes for a victory over the Galactic Alliance with only minimal losses among their own fleet, thus maintaining the strength of the First Order and its rightful place in the galaxy as the rightful Empire.

Snapping to attention, with a crisp salute to his Emperor, Petrovsky echoed his words with a patriotic fervor.
"Ad gloriam! Ad victoriam!"
Agreeing with what the Emperor said, had the Galactic Alliance been in a stronger position than it currently was, he may have resorted to more cautious tactics as well, to ensure victory for the First Order. However, as had been said by himself, Piett and the Emperor, the Alliance was collapsing in on itself. During the tenuous peace between them, the Alliance had never truly managed to recover. Coupled with their most recent defeat at Dathomir and the Felucian Raid, the Alliance was crippled. Irrevocably so. This was the final push needed to put the ailing beast down. Unfortunately the Alliance wouldn't realize that they were beaten and simply surrender, which was the more preferred outcome, in his mind. Have the sense to know when you were beaten and stop. Don't continue fighting simply because that is what you want to do. It usually resulted in more bloodshed than necessary. And that was the one thing Petrovsky always aimed for. Defeating his enemies in the most efficient way possible, with minimal loss to his side. As should be everyone's way, in all honestly. But, not everyone thought like he did. And given the information displayed on the composition of the enemy fleet, it appeared as though the Alliance wasn't going down without a fight. Admirable, but ultimately foolish. Hopefully they would see that before they were utterly decimated, though if they didn't, he would have no problem showing them exactly what happened when one refused to bow to the First Order.

Needa, already standing at attention, gave a salute and repeated the Emperor's words.
"Ad Gloriam. Ad victoriam."
He wasn't much for shouting mottos, though the manner in which he said it had the same ferocity as anyone else standing at the table. Perhaps now was the time to strike out. Maybe things would go as they hoped. The Galactic Alliance really was on its last legs. There were no secret fleets in hiding, there was no master tactician waiting for the massive fleet to reach Dac before launching a trap. He would have to put his faith in Nicademus, that he wasn't making some massive mistake by attacking the Alliance's capital. Now, more than ever, it was prudent that they show caution. Lest the scum that ran the Alliance utilise the First Order's own victories against them. To allow for small errors. And to strike when they least expected it.
As he walked off the bridge, he spotted his Aide, Rear Admiral Kasalle, among the sea of helmets and faces. Crossing over to her, dodging the blurs of white, grey, and black that crosses in front of him, he reached Admiral Kasalle, who had turned up to look at him. He was relatively tall, and cast an imposing shadow over the smaller framed female, who's silvery hair glimmered slightly under the bright lights of the Ad Gloriam. He spoke coolly and wholly without emotion to Jenia.
"Admiral Kasalle, I presume?"

Looking up to the imposing figure of Admiral Needa, Jenia mustered him with respect, knowing that she was now under his command for the time of the operation. "At your command, Admiral", she saluted briefly in her usual tone of voice, "The Holocron and its supporting fleet will follow your orders for the upcoming battle and serve the Empire well." It sounded like a hollow phrase, but she meant it. The session with the Admiral has shown Jenia, that Needa was a careful man, who wouldn't tolerate any headless attempt to eliminate the enemy - similiar to how she hoped to avoid as many losses within her own fleet as possible. Whatever her orders within their attack line would be additionally to the ones, the Emperor had tasked them with, she would attempt her best to fulfill them as best as possible in order to decide the upcoming battle in favor of the First Order.

"Ad Gloriam! Ad Victoriam!" Ishild replies while coming to attention and saluting with all those present once the Emperor, following Piett's brief and coolly assured contribution to the discussion at hand regarding the plausibility of the ailing Galactic Alliance possessing the means to mount a counteroffensive such as Needa has suggested, has concluded the briefing. Whether or not any changes in the initial battle plan will come about from all that had been discussed is unclear, though Ishild is largely untroubled; either Delvardus will leave it to Needa and Petrovsky decide how to manage their respective flanks, or they will proceed as planned. Needa may not have succeeded in swaying Delvardus to adjust his plan, but Ishild is confident that all present will, if nothing else, have Needa's concerns in the backs of their minds and therefore be more prepared for the unexpected which inevitably arises in any battle, no matter how certain the intelligence informing a battle plan might be.
Delvardus may have oversimplified his characterizations of Petrovsky and Needa, for neither man is likely to prove to be possessed of only one defining feature of their tactical thinking, but Ishild feels confident that, under their joint leadership, the Galactic Alliance will at long last be put out of its misery no matter what surprises the impending battle might hold in store.
Though Petrovsky has not given any indication that he wishes to speak with her at this time, Ishild knows that they will need to speak together at some point, be it here and now or at another time in another place, and so that she might learn when and where he intends for them to discuss what needs be discussed regarding their role in the impending battle, strides towards him and comes to attention, greeting him with the formal courtesy due to him by virtue of his rank, "High Admiral Petrovsky."

Nicademus chuckles lightly for a moment. His mind reflecting on the conversation earlier made with Xeonon, who was still among them. The Emperor smiles at the Grandmaster, one of the few times he ever did. In fact, perhaps, he had not smiled since the day his son and daughter were born. That seemed like yesterday, but it that was a lie.You are the second person to say that, Faina. The second person to say that I must turn to more peaceful ways than the warlike beginnings and path that the First Order presently takes. This Empire was built on the martial traditions set down by my actions and my will. I fear such a radical change would upset my commanders and make my soldiers lazy and ineffective. A sharp blade must not be dulled, Faina... yet it will become dull if I continue to war. It's edge eroding with each strike... it is hard to change the core with such a radical reform. The best way of which is to implement slowly perhaps.Nicademus looks out at the fleet, turning quietly away from Faina.Tell me, Faina, do you know of the 'Victory Without War' program? Faina tilts her head to the side at an inquisitive angle when Nicademus says that she is not alone in having advised him that a less aggressive or oppressive stand could serve the First Order as it moves on into the future, though she does not pursue the question that his statement invites when he goes on to other matters, implying that he is not inclined to reveal who else had advised him as she had.
Nodding when Nicademus speaks of the dangers inherent in allowing the proverbial sword edge to dull from misuse, Faina says only, "A sheathed sword can still be a deterrent; and can be cared for so that it does not lose its edge. Not wanting to belabor the point, that training and the inevitable conflicts that are sure to arise even after the Galactic Alliance is no more can ensure that the commanders and troops that have been honed and strengthened by the battles fought to bring the First Order to where it is now, Faina instead answers his question about whether she has heard of the Victory Without War Program, I have heard of it, for she can imagine few who are versed in history to any degree who have not heard of it, not going into any more detail than needed to establish that she has a working knowledge of the program as Nicademus needs no lessons from her, It was initiated by Emperor Jagged Fel, and lasted for three generations before Darth Wyyrlock discontinued it. There is a lesson, Faina thinks, to be learned by the First Order of the dangers inherent in trusting Darksiders, but she has spoken of it before with Nicademus and sees nothing to gain in pursuing it now. The enthusiasm in her tone indicating that, at the very least, the core idea of the program is not without appeal to her, Faina asks, Do you intend to instate a similar program?"
