As Ifrit's laugh echoed throughout the study, Mariah arched an eyebrow at him. If there was a joke somewhere within her statement, she failed to recognize it. Unless he was laughing at the words themselves, which brought Mariah's already hardened gaze to sharpen and narrow upon him. She knew that her phrik daggers had no effect on his protection spell earlier, but the brief wonder if that extended towards a plasma blade crossed in her mind.
"Master Bladeweaver," she stated firmly, her tones carrying an edge to them now, "To adequately explain how and why they should be unimportant would take me the rest of your lifetime."
Clenching her teeth together to halt her tongue, Mariah breathed in a deep breath. His laugh and his words were clearly an attempt to draw out her wrath again, and it was a ploy she too easily played into. Although leaving the tome on the ground next to her, Mariah turned her attention back to the healing spell within and brushed her slender fingers across the page. It was a brief distraction to quell her anger before she continued, her tone and words more controlled.
"The memories of my people lie in the magicks of the Force. I am but a Blade... a warrior among those Spellweavers who could tap into such things, and thus, learning these arts plays no significant role. I do it simply because I have nothing better to do, and I have grown bored with carrying knowledge I cannot use. This and my sister's relations with certain men have no bearing on me. Tracking down the idiot who gave her that piece of metal is simply a part of a final favor to her."
With her head still tilted down towards the page, her gaze suddenly flickered upwards, twin crimson orbs staring up at him with a silent fury burning within.
"Anything else you need clarified?"

Ifrit was confident that he would long outlive what ever explanation Mariah thought she had. She had certainly created a formidable barrier against the world. One that would take some time to get through and dismantle. A challenge he looked forward to undertaken in the coming months. He had once had similar feelings as she did when he had first pledged himself to the Jedi Order. Just as his Master had shown him how much more there was, he intended to impart the same to Mariah You have grown bored? Well then, You've come to the right place... Life with me is anything but boring... That, I promise you... He at last turned his attention toward the page upon which Mariah had landed earlier. It was the healing spell he had used upon her earlier that day to heal the wound inflicted upon her by Malvus. It was as decent a place as any to begin her training So, you wish to start with a healing spell? Very well then, let us begin...

This Ifrit Bladeweaver seemed far too confident for his own good. That much Mariah was certain. She had heard it time and time over the years with certain men, that life with them was anything but boring. Most were slum rogues who were looking for a damsel which they could toss away to free themselves from trouble, when it loomed over the horizon. It never ended well with them, she made sure of it each time. However, Mariah couldn't help but feel that there would be something different in this case. Just a small, lingering spark. An easy enough feeling she could toss aside and disregard.
With nothing more to say or share, she brought the tome back to the center of attention. She had warned him of the many months it took her to learn one spell alone. She would see just how long it would take her to learn yet another, but under the guidance of another. Perhaps it would be worth her time. Perhaps it wouldn't. Only time would tell now...

Still, there was a small thought in the back of her head, one which held her tongue from expressing her outrage. With a snarled sigh, Mariah pushed forward. There was still plenty of time to build and reevaluate later. No matter what, though, if Ifrit found a way to placate the Sith, then the idea of breaking free from them far outweighed his stupidity. For now, they had accomplished their goal here, and she could agree that it was wiser to head back to Sullust than linger another moment.“Sounds like a plan,” she murmured as she hopped off the medbay bed again, landing much more gracefully than she had the time before. “If it’s something you believe is useful, I’ll accept your guidance. I’ll ensure I practice the healing and concealment spells in my free time.” Without turning back to see if Ifrit would follow, Mariah departed from the medbay to the cockpit. However, still within earshot, she tuned in her comlink and issued the command on her own accord.Tasradan, we’re finished. Set coordinates to Sullust and prepare for hyperspace. We’re heading back. The journey back from Korriban had been fairly uneventful. He could not refute Mariah's point that she operated best alone since it meant she had only herself to worry about. His earliest encounter with her and the way the fight with Bara'duun had gone down were valuable examples of that point. But despite how markedly different these events had been, she stilled seemed willing to stay by his side. He just now had to prove to her that he had a plan and that the risks could be mitigated. Something which he was not sure how best to approach.
Even as he observed and watched Mariah practice her healing and concealment spells, his thoughts remained divided. Running through different ideas and scenarios for how best to move forward. Viox would not take kindly to a direct threat against his power. And Mariah was correct that the number of Sith and Darksiders loyal to Viox did vastly outnumber the pair of them.
But even as fresh and haphazard as the idea may have seemed, Ifrit was not totally unprepared. Something he would prove to Mariah to help convince her to advance further with this plan.
Upon their return back to Sullust, Ifrit took Mariah to his estate on the edge of Byllurun city. It was the one place even the Blackguard was unaware of and he knew that they had no insight into. While it was true he had maintained a certain level of secrecy and security with his volcanic workshop, it was not a place he truly considered secure. Not from the prying eyes and minds of the Blackguard. But here, in the city, he had built a sanctum that no Sith had ever set foot within. Mariah was the only outsider that Ifrit had allowed here.
He waited a couple of days after their return before returning back to their conversation upon Korriban. He used the intervening time to begin instructing Mariah in the concept of detoxifying poison from her system. As it was not a spell, so much as a Control focused Force Ability, Ifrit did not anticipate as much trouble with instructing her in its use. It would just require practicing the ability on various substances to build up a response and determine the best method of detoxification. Something he was confident was well within her ability to do considering her existing skillsetWe'll begin injecting small amounts of various substances into your bloodstream from tomorrow. They'll primarily be harmless while you practice to ensure you can retain a clear sense of mind. But we will build up to stronger and more deadlier ones over time...Ifrit summoned a datapad off of one of the library shelves then. Flying it through the air and setting it down upon the desk that they were seated near. A series of holograms were produced in the air then. Lists of supplies, names of people, and a number of different models and plans floated there for Mariah to examineFor now though, I think it would be good to loop back around to our previous discussion... While I wont profess to have all of the details figured out yet, this is what we have to work with so far... I trust you remember the drive I had you retrieve when we first met, yes? What you see here is some of the information that was contained upon it... Breaking free of the Blackguard has been something I have been considering and planning for, for quite some time. Admittedly, it was not quite the same idea as I presented to you, but... Circumstances change...

While the trip back to Sullust remained uneventful, the same could not be said for the several days after their encounter with Bara’duun. Mariah had rarely been in a situation where she was free to roam a library and learn from texts. Everything that she had taught herself over the past short thirty years had been on a need-to-know basis, and it involved on the spot practicing. Many others who may have been thrown into such a situation would have found themselves in deeper messes than she did, but it spoke volumes to how quickly the woman was able to adapt and to learn. However, now with books sprawled around her, she found her training increasing tenfold -- at least with basic Force-related practice -- although she was still adamant in believing that all of this reading wasn’t worth her while. Nonetheless, she studied like any ‘good student’, thus focusing on this new Force ability that had been detailed under an area known as “Control”. It was a puzzling structure to the self-made woman, but still, she looked past it and continued. The more she learned about it, though, the more she couldn’t help but believe that the only good she could make of it was sneaking back into ecumenopolis slums and out-drinking any who might think they had an upper hand over such a petite creature.
In between Mariah’s delving through texts, she practiced those two spells and even went as far as learning more about the Force ability of Force Cloak that seemed to be held in tandem with the Spell of Concealment. Although her methods were less than pleasant in practicing the healing spell, Mariah found that self-mutilation was the only worthwhile way to truly practice and know that she was progressing.
In what little time she could carve in her busy, student structure, Mariah snuck off to meditate. She hadn’t forgotten Ifrit’s offer, his scheme, and his desire to build it, with her at the forefront. Although the simple thought of it made her restless, it was during these quiet moments that she could cease the yammerings of these idiotic concerns in her head. It had been a long while coming since Mariah had to even deal with something on this scale. She had grown used to what her life had become and the inevitability of the path she walked. This, however, was on a far greater scale than she had ever thought she’d face.
Then came the day. With scrolls and books and datapads scattered around the crimson-haired woman, Ifrit forcibly caught her attention and drew it away from her studies. As much as she didn’t want to be bothered while engrossed in an already taxing situation, he seemed prepared now to finally retouch that which had been briefly discussed already. With a wave of her hand, Mariah summoned the Force to sweep all the texts carefully off the desk to clear the way for her instructor’s datapad.
At the mention of that datachip from all that time ago, Mariah couldn’t hold back the twitch of a malicious grin to touch her lips.
“So that’s what was on it? The beginnings of this little plan in action?” she asked with a dark snicker. “If it was so important for you to keep, you should have said something before I crushed it.”
However, it also spoke volumes to how long Ifrit had been plotting this out -- since long before she had come around demanding to be his student in the arts of Sith Magicks. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind that the disposal of that information set him back, as well as the addition of taking on a new student.
“Circumstances change,” she challenged, her smirk faded ever too quickly with a loud roll of her eyes.
Still, she pressed onwards, flipping through the various schematics, the names, the lists, and she did so all within a silence, at least if Ifrit would allow her that much. The more she looked through it all, though, the more that one of those interesting points in her meditations seemed to resonate with a bit more clarity, that which she could help piece together with him. With a quiet sigh, Mariah kept her eyes trained upon the holograms as she spoke.
“It’ll suffice as a start.”
While it was clear enough to Mariah that Ifrit had put a great deal of thought into this, there was still enough that would need immediate tending to before she would even consider taking part in this scheme. It made her all the more curious, though, what his original plans for breaking free of the Blackguard rule contained. Curious, for the sole reason of, was there anything in that original outline that might have been overlooked or tossed out unnecessarily.
“Tell me more about your first plan, before... 'circumstances' changed.”
She issued the command as she lifted a hand, beckoning one of her own datapads back in front of her. Summoning it to life, she fell into utter silence and continued to go through each piece of information that was put in front of her. However, she was a woman who had often showcased her ability to split her focus and keep something of a critical attention to her surroundings. She could listen to Ifrit, scan through his notes, and make those of her own, seemingly effortlessly.

He crossed his arms over his chest as Mariah correctly stated that the beginnings of this plan had been upon the datachip. Indeed, it had contained a copy of some of what he presented to her, but it had not been the original version nor the only copy of it. The previous CEO of SoroSuub had managed to catch on to some of what Ifrit had been working on, but the man had merely managed to follow paper trails It was little more than a copy that you destroyed... Notes the CEO had made by following some paper trails. It was far from being the original version... As you'll recall, my plan had been to destroy it. I merely offered you the choice to read it or destroy it yourself... While the destruction of the drive had been of little difference, her appearance had certainly affected his timeline and his plans moving forward. But in truth, the set back of taking Mariah on as a student had been a rather welcome one. It had presented him proof that there yet existed darksiders that saw through the folly of the Sith ways. She had also provided him the drive necessary to continue pushing on. Training her had provided him a sense of focus and determination which he had been somewhat lacking of late. In fact, he suspected he would still very much be some way away from challenging Bara'duun. And yet, here they were, with that task complete Life is not static... Things, people, events... They can occur in a heartbeat and change the course you were originally traveling on... He suspected she was expecting him to go into slightly more specific detail as to what exactly had changed. Something he was not about to launch into a full explanation of as she started shifting through the information displayed before her. Better that she have a moment of full focus upon what was put in front of her, before extrapolating somewhat on this change of course.
Her quiet sigh might have left many feeling defeated. But it did little to discourage Ifrit. He'd trained her enough in areas she did not think important or useful to believe she would see the benefits of this plan in time. Not to mention the fact that this new plan was still very much in the beginning phases. But at least with two minds working on it instead of one, more progress could be made.
He summoned a chair from across the library with the Force, taking a seat upon it opposite Mariah as she questioned him about his original plan. He reached out toward the holographic display and pulled a file to the forefront which displayed the information relating to his original exit strategy. There was not a great deal of complex information or steps to the plan. He curiosity regarding his original plan and her comments that what had been presented thus far would suffice were comforting. Or at least as comforting as things got when it came to Mariah in such situations There's not a lot to tell... The plan was to gather together a number of supplies, and load up several ships that had been built in secret. They'd be crewed primarily by the forces under Zyara's command, with Banrion's Horde providing extra support. There were a handful of operatives and commanders I had encountered that I intended to secret away. Given I had only myself and my forces to secret away, things were a little more simple in that regard. A timed spell would collapse the volcano and leave evidence of a complex spell gone wrong that had consumed myself and those closest to me. If the Sith ever figured out what had happened, I would have long since vanished across the galaxy... The threat I posed them would have been negligible enough they would have put their focus on other matters. At least until I could build a defence for when they did come for me... But such plans required that I laid low for some time. Following such a plan would hinder certain things quite significantly... Informants and potential allies that could be turned to our cause would be abandoned. Resources I suspect will be invaluable moving forward... Where before keeping an eye on the Blackguard's activities was of a more minimal concern, now was a much different situation. If indeed the Sith had potentially found this Shadows artifact that had been on Korriban, then keeping a close eye on them was more important than ever to locate it. The exact specifics of what these objects were and what they could do were not of any concern Ifrit. But at the end of the day, knowing what they were and could do did not affect the decision he had made to help ensure what ever was missing was returned

Mariah hummed her indifference as Ifrit went on to state his reminder to her. At the time, she couldn’t have been bothered to glance through the information of that drive -- or any other bits of information that wouldn’t have benefited her in any way. Looking back on it didn’t change her thoughts or feelings on the matter. Having that knowledge then may have been detrimental for her training as well as pushing Ifrit’s plan forward of ridding the galaxy of his prior master. Still, she believed he was only giving her a half-truth regarding his thoughts on her decision to destroy it so suddenly.
“Your exact phrasing was something a little closer to pushing me to read whatever nonsense was on it instead of destroying it if my memory serves me correctly,” she retorted with more snark in her tone than usual, perhaps from the hours spent in front of holograms and books already.
How heavily Ifrit seemed to want her to read those files back then remained ingrained in her memory. It was the exact reason why she chose to destroy it. His business was his; her business was hers. Only lately had she been haunted by the feeling that that line was blurring and much too rapidly. Still, the consistent drone of her lessons and progression continued, and thus, it kept her here. His words only further served as that reminder. Life was not static, and she sure as hell wasn’t expecting to get thrown onto this particular course. Learning magicks. An artifact missing. A new order breaking away from the Sith. Mariah couldn’t wrap her head around how she hadn’t faked her death and ran back off to Nar Shaddaa for a simpler life -- again.
In her seeming disinterest, Mariah still listened to Ifrit, which was only shown by the notes she began to take as he talked. There was the faintest twitch of a sarcastic smile, though, as he mentioned his prior means to get away from the Sith. Fake his death. In some ways, they were all too different; in others, they were too much alike. Although an easy way out, faking one’s death was simple enough to colorfully carry out in numerous ways. While it worked for her, though, she didn’t have a whole Sith Order that would’ve tried to knock on her doorstep. Not like they would have found her anyway had it been the case. Nonetheless, there were a few points that Ifrit had mentioned, all of which she had jotted down quickly into her own notes before verbalizing them with her instructor.
“You would have vanished across the galaxy and gone where?” she asked, finishing up one final bullet point before lifting up her gaze towards her instructor. Arching an eyebrow at him questioningly, her crimson gaze fell upon Ifrit and locked down on him before she continued, “Securing a new place to house this order would be the ideal solution to a particular problem of yours. Unless, of course, you plan to somehow house it here. It’s not what I would recommend but to each their own.”
Her words cut like glass shards being hurled into him. There was no ‘to each their own’ truly about it in her eyes. It wasn’t something she was going to stand for if she had any real say on the matter. As far as she was aware, Sullust was a Sith-aligned world given to Ifrit to freely use as one of them. The moment they tried to separate themselves from the Sith, they wouldn't exactly be a welcomed party here if Mariah had to make an assumption. The Sith were always about power and domination, no matter how much they tried to hide behind the guise of their 'new' ideals. She found it hard to believe that they would kindly give up a planet for a new and rising order. Politics. Oh, how she abhorred them, which led to the biggest issue she had with this whole scheme, the one stopping her from committing her aid past these planning stages.
“Have you also put any thought in how you’ll satisfy the concerns of the Sith’ari so that he doesn’t try to cut you, and your order down with you, the moment you bring this to light? I may have helped you take out your former master, but if it came down to it, I’d faster take Savage out in his sleep than face him in an honor duel.”

It was certainly true that he had offered, and perhaps even pushed her, to read the information contained upon the drive. Considering the circumstances behind the situation it had been a massive risk to do so. He had known nothing about her other than the fact that she had sought him out for training. Something which had not required her to aide him in the SoroSuub offices. But yet she had done so of her own accord. So it seemed only fair that he offer her an opportunity to read and process the information that she had retrieved for him. If she had done so, Ifrit suspected things could have taken a very different path to what they had up to this point. But to speculate on what those other paths could have been like was pointlessYou had just helped me run a corporate coup... Seemed only fair to give you the chance to read it. No matter how much I pushed, you chose to destroy it, believing I would tell you what ever secrets existed within one day. And now, today is that day...Even as he talked at length about his original plan, he kept his focus and attention upon Mariah as she worked away making notes. Despite how much she appeared to detest study and note taking, his perseverance with her was yielding results by the day. She was improving and advancing in both skill and power. True enough some of his methods had lead to his life being threatened on more than one occasion. But the results were worth the threat.
Ifrit pulled up a hologram of the galactic map then, the hologram slowly rotating as several systems were highlighted. Most of them were well out of the way, abandoned by traditional governments and outside the focus of anyone powerful enoughThese had been the systems I had considered. All well out of the way and notice of the Blackguard and First Order... The Unknown Regions, the edges of the Outer Rim... However...The Weaver of Blades leaned forward and activated a control, switching the view of the galaxy to display a different set of highlighted planets. Unlike the previous display, the selection of worlds was a much more limited choice. Planets scattered across the Outer Rim and as deep as the Core Worlds soon had detail frames popping up if Mariah so desired to select any of them and make notesGiven the change of plans, I re-approached the list of worlds. Turning an eye toward potential locations that may be far more useful to us... It's still an initial list, but there are some potential worlds that look promising... As you said, housing this Order elsewhere would be ideal. I doubt Viox would be eager to part with Sullust and cede control of it, and with Eriadu and Clak'dor so near by, not to mention Mustafar... The Sith hold a strong sway in this part of space. We can scout out some of these other worlds and determine their viability...He shifted his focus from the holoprojection then and down upon Mariah as she once again broached the subject regarding placating Viox. It was a delicate subject and one that would have to be approached with caution. Ifrit had spent much of the journey back from Korriban musing over plans and ideas on how to deal with that one variable. While it would not be easy, he was confident he had a plan figured outNor would I ask you to face him in an honor duel... Mainly because he knows nothing of the meaning of honor. If it comes to it, I'll face Viox alone and you can easily slip away into the shadows and disappear. In fact...Ifrit reached out with the Force and activated a hidden mechanism in one of the book shelves directly behind where Mariah was sitting. A section of shelving opened to reveal a steel looking enclave within which sat a skull like object with a pair of tusks protruding from itShould that come to pass, you are to take this holocron with you. It contains a copy of all of my knowledge on Magic and Alchemy. While a poor replacement for me, I suspect it will still prove far more useful and valuable than indenturing yourself to a Sith to complete any training you may have left...He waited a moment or two for Mariah to examine the object, before closing the door back over and sealing the holocron within its alcove once again. The books came to rest in place as if they were undisturbedAs for Viox... I assure you, I have a plan. He cares about one thing, and one thing only: his so called empire. So long as he believes his power dwarfs mine and that of this Order, he can dissuaded from acting rashly. The only threat Viox seems focused upon is the First Order, and the target they present is far more significant than that of a handful of Dark Jedi breaking away... For all his talk of the Blackguard Reborn being open to all darksiders, even he cannot deny the abundance of Sith within its ranks. I have simply to present this... Dark Jedi Order as a necessary evil. A group nested within the Blackguard, where those not of the Sith leaning can go to train and fight towards a common goal... At least, that is what Viox will be made to believe. This split will not be immediate. It will take time to build our strength, but the first step toward it will be loosening the leash around out necks...

Mariah could have gone in circles with Ifrit when it came to the happenings of that day. The coup, retrieving the drive, and the conversation that happened thereafter in this very room. There had to be one who simply acknowledged that disconnect the two shared and remain silent. In the words of her sister and the Spellweavers before her, the word was mightier than the blade. While Mariah was one who wouldn’t stay her blade, however, she had learned when to keep her sharp tongue back, a hard-learned lesson from her earlier years.
Even if she had a moment to take a jab, however, Ifrit moved forward with the conversation. The secrets she crushed would still be unearthed, if not by her meddling but by his choice. Mariah paused from her diligent note-taking to turn to his holomap of the galactic system. Mariah’s nose wrinkled slightly in distaste as some systems of his original choice appeared with a vibrant hue. Perhaps they would have served Ifrit well enough if he was going into hiding. Mariah had always preferred the bustling cities as the perfect place to hide in plain sight. Then again, she was a human-enough looking creature to blend in well with a simple hooded cloak. Ifrit wasn’t so lucky. Somewhere far out of the reaches of the First Order and the Blackguard would have been his only option.
Again, though, she stayed her tongue to voice that distaste and allowed her instructor to continue without interruption. As he set a different set of planets alight, Mariah’s expression released itself from its otherwise state of perpetual condescending and twisted into something that could only be assumed as intrigue. Narrowing her eyes, she glanced over the list quickly, making note of a few and jotting them in her datapad. A few resonated closer to home for her than others, but for now, she opted to keep the path Ifrit led them on.
An odd Holocron, and one she could access if the time came. She only disrupted her notes briefly to enter the alcove, accept this object’s existence, and return to her seat at the desk, where she could go back to the matters at hand. There was still so much he didn’t know about her, things she had opted to hold back. Just as he had promised not to hold secrets from her, she pledged the same. However, she wasn’t the type to openly divulge information without a question prefixed. Still, she found herself muttering under her breath, just loud enough for him to hear her, as she made a personal note to the Holocron and where it resided.
“Should that come to pass, I should have enough knowledge to have more reliable access to instructors of the arts.”
It was all she would say on the matter, although the real meaning could easily be misconstrued to being introduced to others who practiced the arts over time. It mattered very little, though, as the biggest issue of them all was finally hit with some sense of a solution. However, it was one that she abhorred. With a snarled sigh, Mariah continued with the never-ending note-taking to ensure that she didn’t miss a single piece of pertinent information regarding Ifrit’s new order.
It took her a beat after Ifrit finished this new answer to finish before she was able to snap herself to her feet and turn to face her instructor head-on. Looking at him as though she was about to sentence the very person who led to her own People’s demise, Mariah spoke out against him and this newest plan with an eerie calm yet strong resilience in her tones.
“So the ‘Dark Jedi Order’ is still to remain slaves under the Sith, under that man?” With a disappointed shake of her head, Mariah muttered under her breath, “Laxumque caput conpage soluta oscitat hesternum dissutis undique malis?” before turning her fiery gaze back up at her instructor to demand, “How long, Ifrit? How long will I and the rest of this Order be forced to live out a lie before we finally break free from their idiocy and tyranny? Do you think I allied myself to them without a timeline, without an end goal to reach before disappearing? I wasn’t going to stick around forever if it meant being at their beck and call. If you want me to help build this order, I need a deadline, especially that we’ll both no doubt end up persons of interests if you get his acceptance and approval.”

It didn't take an empath to sense the disgruntlement Mariah was giving off. It was certainly true what had happened in this very room back then had been of a very different tone. But as Mariah had managed to deduce, going around in circles about it all would lead no where. They were where they were today because of the decisions they had made along the way in the moment. Perhaps they had not been the outcomes that had been intended, but looking back, Ifrit was glad things had gone as they had.
He paid no heed to the wrinkling of her nose in reaction to his original list of planets. They had not been chosen with supporting an order of Force Users in mind. His real attention was more on the change in her expression when the second list of planets appeared. Unlike the original list, she seemed far more intrigued and even noted a couple planet names down upon her datapad. A list he might have been able to see, but he kept his vision from intruding upon her confidentiality. She clearly had reason for making the notes she did, and he would let her tell him when she was ready.
When she rose from the table, he kept his focus upon her, watching her examine the holocron for a moment before resuming her seat. Despite her muttered words being loud enough for him to hear, he chose to ignore them and continue on. There were a dozen different things that needed to be addressed right now, and so far he still wasn't sure just how well this was all going. It spoke to her confidence in his ability to not die before progressing her training far enough, that when he did die, she would have options for other trainers to complete her training.
Ifrit braced himself then when she let out a snarled sigh. He remained seated as she rose from her seat and turned him, berating his plan. He pushed himself up off his seat and leaned against the table, leaning in close to her. The dull green glow of his eyes brightened to a burning green glow beneath the wrap that covered his eyes, meeting her fiery gaze as she looked up at him. He didn't exactly like the plan any more than she did, but Mariah had already pointed out the risks they would be facing Are you quite done?! You think I want to spend a minute longer than I have to paying lip service to the Sith?! Or perhaps you have a much better plan? One that will not get us both killed and or hunted by the Sith from the beginning... We will only be slaves and remain slaves if we believe that we are... He remained leaned forward against the desk, his grip loosening ever so slightly upon the wooden surface. Gouges in the wood providing the evidence of were Ifrit's claw like nails had dug into the desk For as much as my sight provides me, seeing the future is not a power I posses Mariah... I can't give you a specific end date, but for as long as it takes us to recruit anyone useful within the Blackguard, build an army... and more importantly... Ensure they don't posses the relic that was in that cavern... That is how long we would keep up the charade. Let them believe we are beneath them, it will make it all the more easier for us too keep an eye on them, while they focus their attention elsewhere...

As Ifrit heightened his voice and sunk his claws into the wooden table, Mariah only offered the slightest tilt of her head. The warrior remained composed in an eerie example of confidence, as though he hadn’t spoken his piece at all. Still, the look in her eyes, trained upon the demon, revealed a darker conclusion to all that he stated. However, she had the flickering impression that he would damn the days when she did listen.
Her eyes only fell to glimpse at the troughs that were created by his outburst. She arched an eyebrow patronizingly, however, as she lifted her focus back to him. She remained otherwise unperturbed by his shouts, and his channeled frustration into the desk. If anything, she had finally lured out the beast that she needed to see to make her closing point -- the final nail in the coffin, at least for today.
“Then come up with a better plan.”
Her words were sharp yet quiet, a stark contrast between his prior volume. The fire in her eyes burned as brightly as ever, though, as she leaned back to set her weight back against the desk. Crossing her arms over her chest, Mariah shifted her weight onto one foot, the other dancing to cross at her ankles with her toe pointed into the floor.
“If you can’t even give me an adequate answer, how in hell will you give one to any others who come to you demanding one? If you think that anyone will remain under your banner for a single day, believing that they will still be chained down to the very people they fled from -- or better yet refused their loyalty to outright -- you’re sorely mistaken. If you’re still a Sith puppet on strings without a plan to cut them, then you’re one and the same in the galaxy’s eyes. You'll fail before you even begin.”
With a scowl and sigh, Mariah turned her gaze away from her instructor and down towards her datapad that rested upon the desk. Of course, he wanted to toss that missing relic back in her face. While she couldn’t deny him that point, he couldn’t deny the point she just made either. While in these early planning stages, she had strings of her own that held her in place, no matter how much she desired to cut them. After a few seconds deep in thought, the woman biting down hard on her bottom lip, Mariah made whatever peace she could with the matter and turned to scoop up the datapad in her arms.
“Don’t you dare bring up another matter of mine that doesn’t involve you. That relic is my concern alone. Understood?”
Her narrowed eyes fell upon Ifrit for one final second before she turned and ushered her way out of the study and towards any other section of the estate where she could continue her studies in peace. At this point, this was all going to go in circles, again and again. Mariah had no desire to waste her time nor her breath. Still, before she fully departed the room, she turned at the threshold to face her instructor one final time, to make one last point clear to him.
“As it stands, I have no other option but to remain here, to help you with what I see as a fruitless pursuit. Do as you wish, Ifrit, but here is your deadline. Unless you can prove to me that we are free and disconnected to the Sith, my current plan stands as though I remain bound to them.”
To train. To discover the state of the relic. To disappear into the shadows, her whereabouts a mystery to the Sith, to the Dark Jedi, to him, to all.
“Figure it out before then, or be grateful to be rid of me. Now, since you ruined my study space in your loss of control over yourself…”
Brandishing the datapad in a silent explanation to her current affairs, Mariah made it as transparent as she could without vocalizing another word to him. As far as she perceived it, studying for the imminent exercise of this detoxifying method was a far more beneficial way to spend her time. With a mocking bow and a prompt turn on a heel, she departed outside into the estate’s gardens, where she hoped she could keep working in peace.

The day had been long and rockier than navigating through an asteroid belt with the First Order on her tail. Mariah welcomed the moment she could excuse herself to lock herself away. However, her mind only raged louder while within the quiet of the chambers. Taking in a few breaths, Mariah locked her crimson gaze on the ceiling above as she waited for sleep to steal her away. It seemed, however, that the thoughts that busied themselves in her head pushed her ability to rest that much farther away.
Over and over, Mariah couldn't help but replay those moments that unfolded. They had bickered as usual within the study, which left her to seek refuge in the gardens. It was only a matter of time, however, before he would barge his way back into focus, disrupting her studies for more banters about this Dark Jedi Order and his visions for what they would become. His expression as he leaned in and asked her with the utmost calmness and seriousness to be his Empress replayed loudly in her memories. If there was one thing that screamed even more powerfully, however, it was her answer.
Mariah sighed a growl as she tossed herself over onto her side. Now that she was here and alone with her thoughts, she hadn't the faintest idea why she answered him that way. The crimson-haired woman rolled her eyes as her glare pierced into the wall. She knew he hadn't used his magicks on her to twist her mind. Her answer had been her own. Even then, she knew how ill-fitted she was for such a role for this new order, yet he seemed to have faith in her. He had no doubts about his desire for her to stand next to him. Still, such interests didn't appeal to her. It wasn't the role, though, that summoned her answer. No, it was--
Again, Mariah tossed in her bed. She shut her eyes tight, also attempting to shut out the thoughts in the process. None of it mattered now. She answered him the way that she did, and as much as she wished she could, Mariah wouldn't back down from her word. Not now. Not to him. He clearly needed her for this responsibility, else this order would undoubtedly fail before it was even started. He was humble to admit as much with words and reckless to show it with his actions. The brush of his lips against hers the moment she had said that fateful word, thanking her--
Mariah snarled as she sat up, bringing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around her legs. She was a far-fit for an Empress, for a second-in-command to ensure that this resurgence of a Dark Jedi Order rose with strength and unity. Mariah had no desire to step out of the shadows in which she had become so accustomed. As it stood, she was just another name of allies within the Sith order and no one of importance. Next, she would become a name and a face that many would come to know, to hate, to revere, to challenge, to destroy.
Why did she say yes?
Mariah closed her eyes and rested her forehead against her knees. Her innermost being screamed at her to pack up and leave. Tonight. He would never find her. No one ever did when she didn't want to be found. However, there was a driving force that kept her chained--an honor-bound code that locked her into place. She was already prepared to put her life on the line for this man, something she had proven to him only days prior. Somewhere, deep within her mind, she had already accepted it, even if she wasn't prepared to speak those words aloud.
He was becoming the closest thing to her Spellweaver as she could manage. As his Blade, she would follow him to the ends of the galaxy, protecting him as though her life depended on it. He had asked for her to stand by his side. There was only one answer she could have given him. Although Mariah would never come to peace with these thoughts, she had no other choice now but to walk this path she was placed upon. Even if sleep evaded her, the next day would soon enough come, where they would continue with her training and continue to build this order. Together.

Mistress Triss Toknod was the Sith Overseer stationed to Sullust at the behest of Darth Xethuys, the General of the Imperium Armed Forces. Accompanying 212th Ender Division to secure and support the Blackguard's "official" occupation of the world, Major General Skylar Toombs brought the 25,000 man army to Sullust to ensure it remained as part of the Imperium.

At the time of the Blackguard's "official" occupation of the Dark Jedi's world, they met with little resistance. At that date, a secure hologram to all Sith worlds had already been issued by the new, sole leader of the Dark Jedi. The Empress had declared themselves free from the Sith rule and had forsaken this pitiful world that had been 'gifted' to them by the Blackguard. Whatever that had meant all those years ago. Regardless, she had no desire to keep a hand out from the petty tyrants.
Troops had been recalled many moons ago to the Empress's desired headquarters for the Dark Jedi, allowing the Sith easy claim.

Not intending to spill any blood over their official occupation of Sullust, taking back the token world that had been handed to the Dark Jedi Order as a gesture of goodwill between the Blackguard and the DJO was straightforward and simple. Most, if not all of the loyal support for the Dark Jedi had fled a long time ago. Those remaining behind were mostly SoroSuub officials and a few loyalist, all of which had either realigned to the Blackguard or were executed, effectively rooting out any remaining support for the Dark Jedi Order that once inhabited the world.

Byllurun - SoroSuub Centroplex.
Alongside the officials of SoroSuub, Mistress Toknod, the Sith Overseer of Sullust, continued to ensure the local populace conformed to the Blackguard's policies and protocols. Tough, the young woman kept SoroSuub and the Imperium happy with her practices. Though everyone knew better than to cross her, because those that did were never heard from again.

Byllurun - SoroSuub Centroplex.
Mistress Toknod, backed by Major General Skylar Toombs of the 212th Ender Division, kept Byllurum safe, secure and firmly under the Imperium's sway. Toombs' 25,000 trooper division ensured that both the city as well as SoroSuub were adequately defended and protected, should the need arise. Comprising of the Imperium's "core" worlds, alongside Eriadu and Clak'dor VII, Sullust was a vital piece of the Imperium's economy, and as such, was defended by Ascension Command as it patrolled between the three worlds.

Byllurun - SoroSuub Centroplex
With the order given to Rampant Savage, the A.I of the Sith'ari, Rampant was able to issue the order simultaneously across all of the affected worlds of the Blackguard Imperium. While one message was the same to each world, those included in Operation: FRACTURE would receive the green light to proceed officially.
Attention all Imperium Navy and Army personnel, per protocol 11.5-4, Order 212 is to be executed immediately by authority of the Sith'ari.
While that message was being played across the fleet and all army bases across the planet, a second message came through to the Office of Overseer Triss Toknod. Another loyal Overseer that had been included in Operation: FRACTURE.
Overseer Toknod, Order 212 has been given. Operation: FRACTURE is to begin in earnest. By the authority of the Sith'ari, you have been granted permission to facilitate this transition by any means necessary while preserving the infrastructure of your world. All Glory to the Imperium. All Glory to the Sith'ari.
Another of the Imperium's "core worlds" had been notified. Everything was playing out exactly as the Sith'ari had intended it to, for the time being.

Byllurun - SoroSuub Centroplex
Overseer Toknod continued to monitor the incoming vessels that had since flooded to Sullust. Refugees from Kamino. Scientists, a few cloners and a whole slew of security personnel that had fled at the sight of the Imperium's flagship. All were welcomed here, though they were thoroughly screened to ensure there wasn't going to be any revolts or rebellions instigated on Sullust, of all places. It wasn't the most glamorous of jobs, but it was a vital one. And with a promised seat at the new table that was being set, it was in her best interests to hold up her end of the bargain. Especially considering how Varick Thedas had fared. His murder at the hands of the Sith'ari was still circulating the Imperium's broadcast networks. It had invoked a lot of compliance as well as fear of the Sith'ari's wrath. And, if she were being honest, even Triss was a bit surprised to see the Sith'ari in action after all the rumors that had been floating around had claimed him to be a decrepit old man incapable of such feats. The rumors must have been greatly exaggerated, from what she had seen. The Sith'ari looked youthful and as powerful as ever. And definitely not someone she wanted, banging down her door because she refused to comply. The cushy life that she had inherited as an Overseer was more than enough power and prestige. She was in no rush to try and find more.

212th Ender Division Under the command of Major-General Skylar Toombs, Ender Division was the primary defense force on Sullust. Comprised of twenty-five thousand troopers, the Division was Byllurun's main force. The troopers of the division conducted patrols, raids and anything else that was required of them, ensuring the safety and security of Byllurun for the good of the Imperium.
