Nicolina enthusiastically joins in the applause begun by Admiral Needa after the Emperor's announcement, revealing one of the announcements that everyone has gotten gussied up and gathered here. Having known the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights since before she had been promoted to that rank, Nicolina guesses that she probably knows the soon to be Empress better than most here today, and her applause is therefore not merely polite, but genuine since she believes that their Emperor has made an excellent choice. Nicolina has fought and bled beside the future Empress on many occasions, and knows that she is tough, smart, brave, and intensely devoted to the First Order. Kind of a goody two shoes, but what would one expect of an Imperial Knight, and there are far worse qualities for an Empress to have.
A bit caught up in the moment, Nicolina grins as she elbows Admiral Needa gently in the ribs and tells him in a stage whisper, "I knew her back when she was just a Knight and the Emperor was still calling himself our Supreme Commander. They're a good fit for one another, and make an attractive pair, huh?" Garrick turned to face Nicolina, unsure of who had grabbed his attention for the moment. And he saw an unfamiliar face, but one that he had heard a great deal about. Nicolina Forsei, leader of the Emperor's personal legion; a seemingly talented commander, if the rumors were to be believed. As she was someone who had only joined the Empire during the remnant era, Garrick was somewhat skeptical about her skill at command, due to his natural distrust of newer commanders. Even so, Garrick was willing to suspend his disbelief for now, both out of his temporary placation with the current situation, and her reported efficiency in executing combat operations."I'd agree. I'd rather have Grandmaster Nikulin as Empress then the former Ren. She certainly seems a far more... trustworthy individual than her predecessor.” Stopping for a moment, he gave Nicolina a brief nod."Garrick Needa. High Admiral. I don't think we've met before."

Nicolina chuckles when Garrick says that Nikulin strikes him as more trustworthy than the former Empress, "That isn't exactly setting the bar very high, but I agree with you completely. Returning the High Admiral's nod, Nicolina says, making a mental note to reign her tendency towards irreverent humor in somewhat since she is talking to someone not only of a higher rank, but who has a service record that in her opinion merits the utmost of respect, I don't think we have met before, sir, no. I've heard of you though, and it's an honor. Nicolina Foresi. Lieutenant Colonel, with the Emperor's Talons. We were on Mon Cal together, right? Well, on for me, over for you anyway," she adds with a grin.
Recalling the list of promotions that had gone out after Mon Cal, Nicolina says, "Congratulations, sir, on your promotion to Grand Admiral. You and Petrovsky are the first ever in the First Order, right? The observation a rhetorical one, Nicolina goes on, remembering that the man's son was recently made an Imperial Knight, And congratulations on your son's induction into the Imperial Knights as well. You must be proud."

Nicademus turns to grab his greatcoat, putting it on with ease. Grabbing his officer's cap, the Emperor looks to the Field Marshal, nodding to the door. Baltasar bows to his brother before turning to Faina... and bowing to her as well. He departed first to gather the attendees for the meeting. Nicademus pulls on one of his gloves, turning slightly to look at Faina. Are you ready for this, Faina? Returning Baltasar's bow with a smile, grateful for all the Field Marshal has done in the past few days to begin preparing her for assuming the role of Empress, Faina then walks to join Nicademus, placing her hand on his cheek while telling him, "As ready as one can be, I suppose," sounding more confident than the statement might otherwise suggest; though becoming Empress had never been an ambition of her, being an Imperial Knight and serving with distinction having been her dream since childhood, Faina harbors little doubt as to her ability to adapt to and grow into the role she will soon assume by virtue of her union with Nicademus.
Attired in her crimson Imperial Knight armor, the only concession to the formal nature of the gathering Nicademus has called for being that she has styled her hair in a simple yet elegant and classy twisted low ponytail rather than in the usual strictly functional bun or ponytail she typically wears it in, Faina falls into step beside Nicademus as he makes his way out to where the meeting will begin. Nicademus turns slightly as his gaze breaks from the gathering to look at Faina. He motions to Faina to come and stand beside him. Once she had, the Imperial turns back to those gathered, noticing already some rather stunned faces and expressions. However, just as expected, Nicademus noticed more accepting faces than when Illaria was named Empress. In a few weeks, Faina Nikulin, Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights, will be made Empress of the First Order. Stepping to Nicademus's side when he motions for her to do so, her bearing dignified, confident and poised without any hint of haughtiness or arrogance, Faina puts her arm in his and faces the gathering. The way that she and Nicademus stand together, the affection and regard for one another in their expressions as their eyes meet, makes it evident to any observant enough to see it that their union is not merely political, but founded on a deeper, more meaningful bond.
Faina recognizes many of the faces in the gathering, some only from their dossiers, others she knows personally. The applause that follows Nicademus's announcement, Faina knows, is not for her or Nicademus as much as it is for the First Order as a whole, for it will again have an Empress beside the Emperor. She is not yet the Empress, and so Faina does not speak once the applause begins to dwindle, instead remaining silently at Nicademus' side so that he can, when the time comes, make the other announcements that he has prepared.

Harnan's attention had quickly drawn to the stage then, as Nicademus strode out with his brother, Grand General Baltasar, and the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights, Faina Nikulin. He almost instantly felt a shift in the Force as the trio made their way to the front of the stage, where Nicademus took several steps more forward. As the man started speaking of threats and decisions that were to be made today, Harnan waited. But unlike Nicademus' usually long winded speeches, the man cut straight to the first announcement for the gathering: That of the elevation of Faina from Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights to Empress of the First Order.
His mood darkening in that instant as the announcement passed through the crowd, with the sound of clapping quickly rising through the room. Contrary to popular belief among the Imperials, it had nothing to do with any concern for the Ren's standing. While he might not have always seen eye to eye with Nicademus, the man had earned a certain credibility with Harnan. Thus, he knew that despite this announcement, that the Ren would still have their position secured within the First Order.
No, it was not any potential threat this might prove. Though, it did present some issues in terms of public image. A fact quite evident by the spiking feelings he could sense across the room at the announcement. But neither was that the source of his anger.
On the one hand, it was the fact that of all the women that Nicademus could have chosen to replace Illaria with. He had opted for the Grandmaster of an order that stood in stark opposition to the Ren. The Imperial Knights being the preferred Order of Force Users amongst the Imperials. But more importantly, Octavian and Fiora would now know that very same Imperial Knight as their Mother. A fact he found more sickening than any other. After all, the twins were still young. Their memories and knowledge of their true mother tenuous at best. Faina could very easily become all they know and remember. And if that were to happen, perhaps Fiora may be influenced by her new Imperial Knight mother against training with the Ren and choosing to join Octavian. And who there would ever let either child remember their true heritage.
The thought of it all caused him to clench his fist tightly. An act which took all of his focus from even pretending to applaud this new change. Instead, he focused on calming himself as he stood there. Since there still seemed to be more to announce, and he could more than take out his frustrations in a less public venue

*Soku had kept to himself throughout the gathering, his mind heavy with his own plans for the future. True leadership of the Knights of Ren had fallen to him... and yet he had not made this known amongst his brothers and sisters just yet. Truthfully, he was unsure how to inform them without implicating Harnan. Harnan had done what was right, and Soku had seen and felt that... but would the others? Were he to withhold the finer details, just how would he announce the death of the Master?
The time for deliberation was to be set aside, however, as the Emperor took his stage. Soku stood at perfect attention, his curiosity immediately drawn at the mention of a new Empress. This detail had somehow eluded him, and concern grew within even before the candidate appeared on stage: None other than the Imperial Knights' own Grandmaster.
Soku did not applaud. Indeed, nor did he make much more motion than to stare at the stage. The announcement came like a cold dagger to the heart, some sense of betrayal setting in. Neither the Ren nor the Knights held much appreciation for each other, and this move... Completely antithetical to Nicademus's prior marriage to Illaria.
And that led his thoughts directly to Fiora. This woman, legally, was now the child's mother. A notion Soku could not fathom. Octavian had already chosen his own way, but Fiora still trained under the Ren, same as her mother. It seemed Soku's first task as the new Master of the Knights of Ren was to prevent the new Empress from corrupting the mind of the previous Empress's daughter. The Ren would not be divided.*

Neith chuckled as her comments managed to make the Vice Admiral blush. She leaned in a bit closer, examining Shel's reaction in hopes of gleaning any additional information about what may or may not have been going on between the twoHmmm, is that so... I would ask who this imposter is that has replaced my Brother, but... His presence is unmistakable. That's him in there...She turned her gaze up to Harnan then, that same mischievous grin plastered across her face. Before returning her attention back to ShelPerhaps he really has changed for the better... I suppose I have you to thank for that... Raising an eyebrow at Neith's comments made Shel wonder just what this man had done to earn such a reputation.=Shel=I have only known him a short time. I'm afraid I can not take credit for any miraculous transformations. But before the conversation could continue, the Emperor emerged, accomonied by some familiar Force imprints. His body guard and brother. Both were expected. But as the Emperor spoke, he mentioned unknown threats beyond their boarders, to which Shel responded, in a grim whisper.=Shel=You have no idea, your Excellency But the speech went on to announce a new Empress. A trivial matter in Shel's mind, after all Palpatine had not worried about such things, though their were other stark differences in these Emperors, but mostly good in favor of Nicademus. She applauded when the announcement was made of who it would be. Shel had not been training with the Ren long enough to care much for the politics between the rival Force traditions. Once that was done, she waited for the next announcement.

Once Nicademus was able to take in the general approval, noting those that did not share the same opinion, the Emperor would turn to Faina, patting her hand as her arm was linked with his. There was a spark of happiness within his eyes, not seen since Illaria was pronounced... well gone for good. He did not declare her dead, but did not say she was alive. She was gone, essentially, and the Emperor knew she was not returning. The Imperial would turn back to those gathered, letting Faina decide if she wanted to let go of his arm or not. Whether or not she did, the Emperor would continue with his announcements to those present.
In addition to this announcement, I have decided on some organizational changes to the Empire. In the coming days, promotions and other benefits will be granted to both individuals and groups within this nation. The first I will mention concerns the Knights of Ren.
Nicademus would step a few feet forward and key for a holoprojector to rise before him. It came to life moments later, revealing the Deep Core sector. Eventually, the holoprojector slowly panned inward, focusing the image of Prakith. It was well known to be the headquarters of the Ren, outside of their tower on Muunilinst.
After the ceremony, in a few weeks, I will grant a special privilege to the Knights of Ren. In recognition for services rendered to the Empire, and in gratitude for their continued support, I will be granting the Knights of Ren full authority over Prakith and her system. This decree will grant extraordinary power over Prakith's system. Rights to taxation, with a special tithe to the Empire per an agreement arranged, garrisons, recruitment, local law, administration, tariffs... all those, and more, will be granted to the Ren to be handled directly by them. It will be a special administrative zone where, while it will remain a part of the Empire, the Ren will hereby have these special privileges that grant will them greater power over the planet and her system.
All in all, the Ren will continue to keep their degree of independence as per the treaty arranged. When Illaria was Empress, there were guesses and estimations that the Ren would seek to integrate further. However, with Illaria gone, the Emperor needed to grant something to ensure he showed proper gratitude to them, nonetheless, for all they had done. After he speaks, Nicademus turns his gaze to both Soku and Harnan.
Consider this to be a gift from both me, personally, as the Emperor and on behalf of the Empire for all that you have done for this nation. I hope that this Special Administrative Zone of Prakith will serve your needs well. Know that the Empire will supply whatever else you need, just as I have ensured before.

While what she said was true, about it being a low bar, he did mean it as a complement in the truest sense. The Imperial Knights, while a fairly new organization, had already done enough good for the Empire that Garrick was willing to overlook the newness of the organization. Nicolina seemed to be a rather non-serious commander, but if the was leading the assault on Mon Cala, he was certainly impressed with the efficiency by which she executed her operations. Certainly worthy of the Old Empire, and his respect. However, he'd still have his usual reservations."Thank you." Garrick beamed a bit at the mention of his son. In spite of the fact that at one point he had been a traitor to the Empire, he seemed to have found his way back into the fold nicely, and he could not be more proud of him. Lucien would likely do a great service to the Empire, and leave a worthy legacy behind him."I would say so, yes. He seems to be a promising knight, and although he is new to the Empire, he is adopting to it well."

I hope that this Special Administrative Zone of Prakith will serve your needs well. Know that the Empire will supply whatever else you need, just as I have ensured before. Jenia's heart felt as if it stopped for a brief moment, when she heard the next announcement. Not that she actually had to be concerned, as she knew that her family had always found a way to arrange themselves with the local authorities in order to let the mining coorparation run and some of her relatives are known to live on Arkania, the origin of House Kasalle, wheras others would be spread across the Imperial worlds like most prominent Houses tended to do when it came to larger family branches. Yet they had always served the Empire and the Emperor himself, not the Knights of Ren directly. Potentially I have to visit them in order to see how things are going... after all those years...
She briefly looked again over to the position, where the one Ren knight had seemingly watched her. Did they already know? There were many tales, which people tell about force users and some of these claim that both the Jedi and the Sith were even capable of reading the minds of others, controlling them or other unbelievable things. Generally Jenia knew that it was probably just coincedence. Her family was well respected within the Empire among the Imperial officers, wasn't corrupt according to the official records and she would assume that the Imperial Intelligence would have already confronted her, if something would indicate the opposite. So in the end nothing to worry about.
And yet she had a bad feeling about this announcement, tied with what just happened a short time ago. She would probably have to arrange at least one shuttle flight and the brief command shift over the Banshee-fleet to Commodore Viggo, once there was time for it. Bureaucracy would probably excuse the brief absence of hers within the fleet as there was at least a period of peace within First Order territory, now that the Galactic Alliance was dismantled, but she nontheless disliked the thought of being torn once more between the well-being of her family and her loyality towards the First Order. Something she hadn't felt for a long time since she joined up with the Braxant Empire.

That the second of the Emperor's announcements concerns the Knights of Ren, who would undoubtedly have found little to celebrate in the first announcement, comes as little surprise to Ishild, though she wonders if being granted full authority over Prakith will entirely quell any discontent the Ren might feel in light of the fact that the new Empress is an Imperial Knight. Ishild does not envy the Emperor's need to maintain a precarious balancing act between the favor he shows to the Ren and Imperial Knights, but hopes all the same that he had managed to do so in this particular instance. The Ren and Imperial Knights have both proven valuable to the First Order, and while Ishild considers the Ren dangerous allies at best given their ties to the Dark Side and what those ties have time and time again throughout history proven to invite, she cannot deny their utility on the battlefield after having witnessed firsthand what power they can bring to bear, first on Rendili and then again on Mon Calamari. In his prelude to the second announcement the Emperor had eluded to other promotions and boons to come, and Ishild supposes it must be hoped that the Ren will be contented by all the Emperor ultimately grants them.

Continuing on with the announcements, Nicademus would point above them. For now, the space was unoccupied, but there was something on the way to be displayed before all those gathered. It had been a project, long in the making, and something he had discussed with Faina. The Imperial Knights had power, due to their proximity to himself and future rulers to come, but nothing like the ships under the command of the Knights of Ren. He wanted the Imperial Knights to be more versatile and be able to operate with greater degrees of resources at their disposal. These factors in mind, the Imperial would make this decree.
Another decree is to come in the few months, concerning the Imperial Knights. Long have they defended me and chosen me as their patron and the one they defend with their every breath. When I first came to the Deep Core, I did not know what awaited me... but I could tell that the Imperial Knights needed leadership after the disappearance of the last Fel Emperor. I could not waste their potential and sought to be the worthy successor of the late Cade Fel.
Once more, the Emperor points upward.
In gratitude for their long services, their profound loyalty, and their contributions rendered in the creation of this Empire and the wars we have endured, I present to the Imperial Knights... the first of a new fleet, the revived Crimson Command!
Suddenly, the space over the garden, and this section of High Port, was occupied within the blink of an eye by a crimson Victory II-class Star Destroyer. The vessel exited hyperspace and came to a halt right above them as the star Muun shined upon it. The first of these vessels had been constructed at the secret shipyard, Deep 3, within the Deep Core, with additional ships to be constructed at Kuat and Yaga Minor within a short time.
This fleet will ensure a new degree of versatility for the Imperial Knights. It will ensure that resources and manpower, for their high-profile operations and future battles to come, are available and within reach. The first of these ships is to be placed under the command of my future Empress, Faina Nikulin, with more vessels to be produced in the weeks and months to come.

Neith giggled as Shel tried to downplay the effect she had on HarnanDo not sell yourself so short...She turned around then, her attention drawn to the stage as Nicademus and Baltasar walked. A scowl crossing her features beneath her mask as her gaze fell upon Faina. The Knights of Ren agreed entirely upon few things, but their feelings toward the Imperial Knights was unanimous. At least amongst those that had been inducted officially into their ranks. The Ren and Imperial Knights were almost entire opposites in their beliefs and practices, which made common ground between the two sides few and far between.
A fact which gave her pause for concern that the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights was up on the stage, and Soku was down amongst the group of Ren. Nonetheless, she listened attentively as Nicademus began his speech, starting off with the news that Faina was to replace Illaria Ren as Empress of the First Order and Nicademus' Wife. A fact which she knew, like many of her fellow Knights, would extend to the role of mother to Octavian and Fiora. While Octavian was to join the Imperial Knights, of his own free will or not, Neither could not help but feel concern for Fiora. While Nicademus had promised the daughter to the Ren, she was certain it had been before Faina had come into the picture.
And if Neith knew anything about the power a woman had over the decisions of a man in love, she could guarantee it would not take much for Faina to convince him to renege on his promise. After all, she had no vested interest in allowing her new step-daughter to train with the Ren. Placing her hand across the middle of her chest. Neith just had to hold hope that Nicademus would remain true to his word as he had in the past.
She joined in the applause that broke out then in earnest, at least where it concerned the Emperor's happiness and the good having an Empress would do for the First Order. But she could not approve of his choice, given her past and why she was with the Knights of Ren now.
But as the applause died down, Nicademus spoke again. His next announcement concerning several promotions and benefits to be granted to various people. The first of which, seemingly, was a gift for the Ren in the form of Prakith. The planet to become a more independently controlled and run territory out of which the Ren could operate. A move which was very clearly meant to placate them after the news of the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights was to become the new Empress.
Even so, it drew her attention back across the room to where Jenia sat. The two women's gaze meeting as they seemingly looked in each other's direction at the same time. After years away and separated from one another, it was starting to feel like the Force was dragging them back together.
Turning her gaze away from Jenia, she settled it back upon Nicademus. Watching as the man continued to tread a very fine line as he balanced the interests of both the Imperial Knights and the Knights of Ren in front of those gathered. A rather monumental task considering that the announcement of Illaria as Empress had created a much larger division through the First Order. While the initial discontent had died down over time, especially after Illaria had birthed Nicademus twin heirs. This was a starkly different matter. Despite the continued service the Ren had provided, many Imperials still regarded them as outsiders, no better than the Sith. In contrast, many loved the Imperial Knights and preferred them. Despite the numerous recent betrayals members of the Order had committed.
Too easily did they forgot Xeonon's plot to murder Nicademus, nor the purge Faina had lead afterward to weed out the last of those Imperial Knights that had sided with Xeonon. Then there was the betrayal by the former Imperial Knight Aeryn Morningstar upon Ossus. And more recently, Xeonon's capture and execution. And yet, the Ren had done nothing but serve Nicademus, providing him heirs, and bringing those traitors to account for their crimes.
It was these things that sickened her about her fellow Imperials. They preferred blind ignorance over admitting that the Imperial Knights weren't so loyal to the Empire.
As such, Neith could not help but feel that the damage done was far too great right now. A fact which was reinforced as she slipped into the Force, sensing the stray thoughts and feelings of those Imperials not skilled enough to guard themselves. The news of Faina being far more favourably received than the follow up announcement concerning Prakith.
But the announcements did not stop, with Nicademus having yet another to make. Her eyes opening as she drew herself back, listening as Nicademus introduced the first of what was to become many Crimson Victory II-class Star Destroyers that would be granted to the Imperial Knights to form a new Crimson Command. Her heart dropping at the news. The gap in the room widening ever more and tipping the scales in favour of the Imperial Knights.
She wondered how long it would be, before those Imperials she still associated with, would distance themselves from her. The Ren had already suffered heavy injuries, and this would be a much tougher wound than most to bounce back from. She sighed then, leaning back against her Brother to process it all some more. Wondering just what else Nicademus intended to announce next

"Thank you." Garrick beamed a bit at the mention of his son. In spite of the fact that at one point he had been a traitor to the Empire, he seemed to have found his way back into the fold nicely, and he could not be more proud of him. Lucien would likely do a great service to the Empire, and leave a worthy legacy behind him."I would say so, yes. He seems to be a promising knight, and although he is new to the Empire, he is adopting to it well." It would be hard to miss the way Garrick lights up when talking about his son in that unique way the parents of a child they are proud of light up when speaking of them, and Nicolina can't help but smile in return. "Well, he's in good company among the Imperial Knights, sir, and I'm sure that he will have plenty of opportunities while serving with them to live up to that promise. Returning her attention to Nicademus when he starts making the rest of his announcements, Nicolina cringes after he gives Prakith to the Ren as their own clubhouse, muttering to herself, There goes the neighborhood," and wondering how the civvies on that world will feel about being ruled by the Ren from the sounds of the powers Nicademus has granted them.
Shading her eyes to look up at the first of the Crimson Command vessels that Nicademus plans to provide the Imperial Knights, Nicolina whistles in appreciation of the Vic-II, leaning towards Garrick and opining, "Shiny, huh? Chuckling, she says as much to herself as to him, Guess Nik. . . the Grandmaster won't need to hit us up for a ride anymore, since she and her unit have ferried Faina and other Imperial Knights around often in the past. Curious as to what Garrick's thoughts are about the Ren being given Prakith, she asks, What's your take on the Prakith sitch?"

These factors in mind, the Imperial would make this decree.Another decree is to come in the few months, concerning the Imperial Knights. Long have they defended me and chosen me as their patron and the one they defend with their every breath. When I first came to the Deep Core, I did not know what awaited me... but I could tell that the Imperial Knights needed leadership after the disappearance of the last Fel Emperor. I could not waste their potential and sought to be the worthy successor of the late Cade Fel.Once more, the Emperor points upward. In gratitude for their long services, their profound loyalty, and their contributions rendered in the creation of this Empire and the wars we have endured, I present to the Imperial Knights... the first of a new fleet, the revived Crimson Command!Suddenly, the space over the garden, and this section of High Port, was occupied within the blink of an eye by a crimson Victory II-class Star Destroyer. As the vessel, scarlet and proud, left hyperspace right above the High Port, Jenia looked up in amazement and nearly forgot for a brief moment what the Emperor just had said. Not solely did it remind Jenia of her own flagship, the Banshee, even though the later wasn't as colourful as the Imperial ships of the Crimson Command would be, but also about the tales and lessons she had learned at the academy about this famous fleet. Every Imperial Navy officer has probably heard about it, as these ships served under a lot of Imperial warlords like Zsinj, Teradoc and most prominently Vice Admiral Gilad Pellaeon... to imagine that there was once a fleet within the entire galaxy, consisting of over a hundred Victory II-class Star Destroyers, all being covered by the Havod alloy, which gave the fleet its famous colour, was something Jenia had dreamt to see for a life time.
In her eyes it was a good decision, as it showed that Nicademus still cared for the Imperial past while embracing it fully. With the new structure of the First Order many changes had come and new ships were replacing the old starship lines of the Galactic Empire slowly. Yet this announcement probably meant a renaissance for ship types like her own as well - which the Rear Admiral could reason. In the end she had more trust in a large, efficent fleet with several ships escorting them than into one major star destroyer like the Resurgent-class. Philosophies here are different when it came to discussions with the First Order's fleet captains, but from her point of view it was an improvement.
"Looks like you can profit from our fleet exercise over Garqi now", she solely said towards Lucien, as her gaze was still fixed upon the vessel above them, "A beauty, don't you think?"

The announcements seemed to fly by. Faina declared empress. That was... certainly unexpected, especially given his previous empress was a knight of ren. However, Lucien did not pay enough attention to the internal politics of the First Order as closely as his father did, and so was generally unfazed by this announcement, simply applauding because of the fact that he knew Faina, and he knew Faina was a good person. The room seemed to generally be split in half though, with those closer to the Imperial Knights, his father included, giving a rapturous applause, whereas those who were closer to the Ren seemed to be slightly concerned by the news.
The next announcement did not seem to affect him very much either, as he likewise didn’t know much about the First Order at this point. He knew Prakith was part of the First Order’s territory, and he knew that Imperial Knights were told to stay away, as the Knights of Ren used it as a headquarters, but this was a very thinly veiled attempt to try and curry the favor of the Ren after the previous rather devastating announcement. However, looking over at Jenia, he could make out a clearly shocked expression on her face, almost as if she was reaching back in time, remembering her family. He did know that her family was originally from Prakith, and that they had some established mining in the area. He would have to talk with her to see how she was taking the news after the announcements.
The announcement of the re-establishment of the Crimson Command, however, captured his attention far more than the other two put together. His father had regaled him with stories of the legendary group, and to see they were being re-established under the Imperial Knights was a great gift to him indeed. As he was a former starship commander, this would be in his skill set perfectly. Not to mention, the spectacle of the red Victory-II star destroyer against the black starlit backdrop, it was truly a sight to behold. Indeed, it almost seemed too good to be true. Once again briefly glancing at Jenia, she looked as amazed as he did by the spectacle presented before them.
“It’s amazing... I’ve never seen anything like it... the Alliance never had anything like this.”
However, he swiftly regained his classic composure.
“I’d think so. Many thanks that you brought me up do date on the Imperial procedures.”

Although Brock was still reeling from the first announcement the contents of the second announcement where a distinct, if unpleasant, distraction from his current thoughts. The Knights of Ren were to be given special authority over an entire planetary system, not just authority but near autonomy to govern as they see fit. They'd be allowed to legally propagate their darkside depravities without fear of retribution or any system to keep them in check. It was almost too much to stomach and far too high a price to pay especially as a gesture of attempting to appease them because their empress was dead. Brock unconsciously clenched his white gauntleted fist for a moment before taking a deep breath and taking control of his anger and pushing it aside. It took a bit more effort than usual, but that wasn't too surprising considering how today was starting to shape up. Many would agree with him and not like the change in structure but most would see it as a fair trade to keep the Ren in the fold while the Emperor married Faina. Brock didn't see it that way, to his eyes the Imperial Knights were losing their Grandmaster and the Knights of Ren were getting paid for the privilege.
He was so consumed by his thoughts about the first two announcements that he very nearly missed the last one completely, but the arrival of the ship outside the dome they all stood under snapped him back into the moment and allowed him to replay what he had just heard but not fully processed. As soon as he did he couldn't help but let out a small snort of laughter, it was covered mostly by the appreciative noises about the new ship so it wouldn't be heard over the general noises of the crowd but anyone near him would definitely not have missed it. Looking up at the ship with his smooth brown eyes he couldn't help but drift back into his mind. Although most would see it as a bit more evening of the scales between the two force orders Brock saw it very differently. The Crimson Command would be much more aptly named as the consolation Command as it clearly was nothing more than a consolation prize for having their Grandmaster taken from them and giving the Ren even more power than they already had. It was all politics and Brock didn't like any of it. Brock couldn't keep the scowl off his face as he returned to looking at the front of the crowd although he directed the expression off into the middle distance rather than directly at the emperor. It was time to see what announcement would be made next. Perhaps it would be his execution. With the way they day had gone so far he wouldn't be surprised in the slightest...

Krzesimir Viggo was wondering if he'd get his thermos back before it was emptied when the first announcement came and so he didn't really hear it at first. Since he is not an avid politician by any means, the announcement of a new empress meant little more to him than the emperor having a wife/consort again and the imperial heirs having a mother figure too. It seemed like an excellent choice in his mind, and he quickly joined Garrick in applauding the happy couple. He might have thrown in a whistle too, if he weren't one of the more junior officers in attendance; being the newest commodore in the fleet.
He was not particularly surprised to hear that the Knights of Ren would be getting the official control of a world they had been de facto ruling, and wondered if the worlds citizens would notice any significant changes. Though he did notice his superior trading gazes with one of the Knights and wondered just how many knights she'd met since their days on the Fandango. Perhaps quite a few, given her rank as rear admiral while being only a few years older than himself. He set that thought aside as the next announcement came.
Viggo was both surprised and pleased to hear that the Crimson Guard would fly again, and the ship arriving to demonstrate the emperor's resolve did look fantastic. Though, he found himself relieved that he hadn't been assigned to serve on such a ship. Standing out that much was asking for trouble in his experience. Still, it would be comforting to see these ships throughout imperial space once more. Not that he was old enough to actually remember the last time they could be seen regularly, but he has seen enough holos to know their significance. He heard Lucien speak to Jenia and her reply, but kept quiet and pretended that he hadn't heard. Not to try and fool anyone, but simply to intrude as little as possible upon the couple. Though he imagined Jenia at least was hoping things weren't obvious; her partner seemed to have few qualms with broadcasting his interest.
Viggo didn't mind the man, despite his numerous differences with his father an ideal imperial officer. He just hoped that things would work out for them, even if he expected their jobs to get in the way more often than not. The jobs had their perks, but free time was not one of them. Still, it could be made to work if both parties were committed to each other. He wondered if it was a bad thing that he had as much excitement over the prospect of Jenia and Lucien docking as the emperor and the grand master announcing their betrothal...

If Harnan had any thoughts that the ensuing announcements were going to vastly improve things, they were quickly dispelled within moments. He listened as Nicademus announced that Prakith would be granted to the Ren in a special administrative zone. Granting them near autonomy to control and run the world as their own fortress. A fact which would certainly help the Ren in the long term. But did little to lessen the burn of Nicademus' choice of Empress. Nor was it news that was too widely well received. Many gathered making it even more clear that they did not believe the Ren worthy of any concessions. Despite the rather exemplary service the Ren had shown.
They were all fools. And he would happily reduce their greatest weapons to little more than scrap metal, to see just how cocky they were when it was just them and him. However, his attention was distracted once more as Nicademus made his third announcement. This time regarding the re-establishment of the Crimson Command fleet to be gifted to the Imperial Knights. He remained impassively standing where he was as Neith leaned back against him then. His Sister's positioning stopping him from any further outward reactions. His gaze locked upon Nicademus, wondering what else the man had to announce

*Autonomous rule of an entire star system was no small gift. In fairness, it was never the intent of the Ren to rule, not so long as the Emperor was deemed worthy to continue that role. Much as the first announcement had angered Soku, he could not honestly say it shook his faith in the man to hold rule over the galaxy. Soku restrained himself to a mere look and nod of approval at the gift... mentally adding that to the list of new elements to manage in regards to this now-greater transitional period for the Ren. He returned to keeping to himself, neither impressed nor threatened by the promise of a new fleet for the Imperial Knights...*

She smiled, eyeing him directly. "Let's just hope for you, that you don't get me and my fleet assigned instead", she solely joked, actually being due to his response in the mood for it - somehow she had to distract herself from the second announcement, "It might not look colourwise as impressive as the Star Destroyers under your fellow Knights' command. Though of course the Banshee-fleet and I would be honored about hosting such a prominent guest like an Imperial Knight."
It took her a brief while to realize that the last sentence was maybe a mistake. But then again though, these were made already earlier on aboard the Ars Moriendi - so in the end, few more didn't matter. There were always casualities in an ongoing battle - though the Rear Admiral admitted that in this mental one she didn't even knew who the actual opponent was other than probably herself.
