The downpour outside had continued unabated during the remainder of their search. Her Jedi companion still seemed the type to ask far more questions than her liking, but she knew that in part he was being thorough; she could not fault him for that much. He had also proven himself respectful enough -- so far -- to allow her to continue her work. The dead here would be spoken for, and their killer would be brought to pay for their unnatural deeds.
"Rest well," she said once more. Their path had brought them to the northern edge of town, where it seemed the ghosts of the village were fewer and farther between. This hadn't stopped at least one from meeting their untimely end in the streets: Sakri found herself kneeling again besides this latest found victim, a grim repetition of her introduction to this slaughter. Her hand lingered over this human's now-closed eyes, and she sighed; none of this had been necessary, she knew. Whoever had done this had done so aimlessly..
A sizzle. Green skin shining in the early rain. A red glow, reflected in wide, glistening eyes. A scream. A pull..
She stared down at the fallen human, the roar of the downpour becoming background noise as she felt herself get swept away for a moment.. but the pull that she felt beckoned her gaze further northward, and the moment was ended.
Beyond the edge of town?
She was fairly certain that Joey had spoken to her again, but that had been lost along with the backdrop of the rain. The Firrerreo stood once more, glancing down one last time before setting off through the soaking streets.
"There is more. We must keep moving."
He would either keep up, or he would not. They did have the same end goal, yes, but as she marched onward toward the edge of town -- noting drag marks in the mud as she did so -- she could not help but wonder at the circumstances that had led to their repeat encounter. The current rarely dealt with mere coincidence, after all, but her musings were brought short as her eyes followed the pull towards more distant, prone shapes outside the city proper.
Another sneer pulled at her lips, and she moved forward with renewed determination..
