The duo entered the archives, which was accessible both from the council chamber and the main corridor by the central tree-room. It was small, with a few worktops traditionally used for creating lightsabers. Picas already had his lightsaber when he first visited the enclave so long ago, so never needed to use this room, but a few standard materials were still stored there. Thinking about lightsbers made Picas grasp for his own, absent-mindedly, however his fingers closed around nothing. He looked down to his belt but the hilt he expected to hang there was not present. He looked at Karrus, who was also missing a lightsaber. Sensing Picas' small panic, he asked: "What's wrong?"
"Neither of us have our lightsabers." Picas said.
"That's hardly surprising, really. We've just been resurrected from death. We'll just make new ones. I was going to need a new one, anyway. No sense me having a red lightsaber now is there?"
Picas shook his head in agreement. "That's true. Lucky there are still some parts here, but I see no crystals." He said, rummaging in the footlockers at the far end of the room. "When the time comes, we'll have to venture to the crystal cave."
Karrus smiled at that. "Our first Jedi adventure together!" He beamed. Picas smiled, too, and sat at one of the workbenches to relax in the archives. This room did bring back memories, as the resident Jedi Historian, it was up to him to make sure the archives were up to date and to catalogue any new information that came into the enclave. Picas imagined himself as the named Chronicler of the enclave, where he wrote the enclave's story. That would be his dream.

Picas stood up from the workbench, and approached one of the archive terminals. "I'm going to spend some time looking through the archives, see if there's any recent information that we can use, and update it if I can. I normally take a while, Karrus, so why don't you go and rest?"
Karrus also stood. "That seems like a good idea, I've never been one for words. I'll head to the quarters." And so he left white-robed Picas at the terminal, and headed towards the personal quarters. He arrived quickly, and appraised one of the rooms. They were all the same, having a bed and a footlocker inside, plus an access terminal for communications. "A bit sparse," Karrus said to himself, moving to sit at the end of the bed. "Suppose that is the Jedi way - no attachment. I disagree about some things, including that. I and Picas are in love, and it has strengthened our connection to the Light Side more than anything. His love redeemed me, too."
He decided that he would practise the ability the Fallanasi showed him in death - the illusions. He had mastered the ability quickly in the netherworld, but their visitor had told them that it was only due to the unlimited connection to the Force. In life, she had said, it would be much harder. Karrus decided that he would try and create his new lightsaber.
He saw the image in his mind, and thought back to his brief training. It had been easier then, Ilana had created an illusion herself, Karrus had just altered it. The key to the ability was to see the White Current - what the Fallanasi called the Force - and alter its flow to create the illusion. The destination for the Current was the same, only that it got there differently, or that was how she described it. Karrus, back when he was Sith Lord Ignus, had saw the ability as a Sith one, where he manipulated the Force to do his bidding without it even realising. Now, as Karrus was a Jedi, his thinking had to be altered. The Jedi would not use that ability in the same way. So, he imagined white whisps of the Force flowing in front of him, like a current, and then used his own Force ability to alter the current slightly, gently. He did not obstruct the current, but nudged it with the care one might show a newborn. The shape of the lightsaber hilt in his minds eye was not before him, however, but Karrus looked close. He could see a very faint, white outline of the shape that he was trying to create. He stopped out of frustration and sighed - it had all come so easy to him as a Sith. Why did the Jedi have to make it so hard?
He'd have to practise more.

Picas allowed Karrus to find his feat. He knew his love, and no doubt Karrus would be testing out his Force abilities as a Jedi in his quarters. Picas had his own duty to attend to, as Jedi Historian he had a duty to input any new information he had that could help future generations of Jedi. After flicking through 'recent events', it was clear that no one had attended to the archives since Picas' absence. That was a shame, he was looking forward to catching up on recent galactic history, and it would have been a great help in Picas and Karrus' mission to bring balance to the Force.
The Historian in Picas stirred, and he created a new entry under the Fallanasi, and began documenting his and Karrus' experience with Ilana in the netherworld.

Picas had been at the terminal all day. Time flied by when he was having fun, and his fun just happened to be at the archive terminal. He had created a whole entry on Ilana alone - what she looked like, her demeanour, and whether this matched up with other entries of known Fallanasi in the archives. Cross-referencing and linking to other articles in the archives was Picas' favourite part. He liked the information to be complete.
He closed he article, and then the terminal, and felt a large smile come to his face. He was home, and better yet, he had no worries. He was completely at peace - he hadn't felt like this since Master Starfall had been around, and Picas only a student. Karrus entered the archive to spoil Picas' trail of thought. "I sensed you arriving, Karrus. I'm getting used to your new Force presence." The historian said.
"Thought it wouldn't take you long!" Karrus replied. He was still in his Jedi robes, and Picas briefly thought if he should be wearing them too, but then shook the idea out of his head. A historian wore historian robes, and Picas was proud of his duties. "Ilana was right," Karrus continued, running his hand over one of the worktops as he approached. "Creating illusions in life is so much more difficult than in death. I couldn't do it."
Picas had completely forgot about his new training. When he was entering it into the archives it had been like a third-person story, he had forgot he was actually writing about himself. "I haven't even tried mine yet," he admitted. "I'll do it later. I've just finished updating the archives about Ilana and our new abilities."
"Oh yeah?" Karrus said distantly, looking longingly at the spare lightsaber parts in the footlocker. "Picas, I want my lightsaber back."
"I guess as much," Picas said with a giggle. "We'll go to the crystal cave tomorrow, okay?"
Karrus nodded, and they both left, heading towards the enclave exit - they hadn't explored outside yet.

Both Karrus and Picas arrived at the enclave after dark, and were tired from their day's journey to the crystal cave and the subsequent finding of their lightsaber crystals. Both Jedi retired for the evening, deciding to leave their lightsaber creation until the next day when their wits would be sharper and they were less likely to cut off a limb.
The enclave was eerily quiet with no other Jedi around.

Karrus had awoken first, and immediately headed to the archive room where the worktops were located. He was very excited to have a lightsaber again, and it showed in his enthusiastic pace. He sensed Picas was still asleep, but no matter. Karrus had already built a lightsaber before, so he knew what to do. He expected it to be a different experience, however, and began to imagine what his lightsaber hilt might look like. Would I actually turn out to be anything like the illusion he tried to create yesterday? Probably not, but it brought up the question of how he did want his hilt to look. When he was a Sith his hilt was all angular and aggressive and dominant. It really boiled down to what kind of Jedi did Karrus want to be?
Karrus arrived at the archive and sat atop a workstation with the footlocker of lightsaber parts open before him. At least he would get the choice of parts with Picas still being asleep. Karrus took out the crystal he had chosen yesterday. It shined brightly in his hand. What kind of Jedi did Karrus want to be? He had no idea of the history of the Jedi Order, not like Picas, but if anything Karrus imagined himself to be a good Jedi, but not a stickler for the rules. But when it counted, Karrus would deliver. That is the kind of Jedi he would be. So, how did that translate into a lightsaber hilt?
It should be non-uniform. A silver hilt with a black grip, but just on one side. The lip would drop inwards, and the butt would end in a blunt stop. Karrus knew this was the right one for him, and began rummaging in the footlocker for the appropriate parts.

Karrus was meditating on his lightsaber. He had gathered the necessary parts, and began to use his proficiency in the Force to construct it. He sensed Picas entering the room as he did so, but said nothing. Picas also did not interrupt, but narrated Karrus' efforts.
"The crystal is the heart of the blade." He said, and Karrus lifted his blue crystal with his mental powers, and held it before him. It shone as he made contact with the Force and it sensed his touch.
"The heart is the crystal of the Jedi." Karrus felt the pulsating crystal synchronise with his own heartbeat, and knew that the good reflected in him would be amplified by this crystal.
"The Jedi is the crystal of the Force." The once-Sith began to create the crystal's housing, realising as he did so that the Jedi were just one part of a whole, like the crystal was one part of the lightsaber, and the lightsaber was just one part to a Jedi.
"The Force is the blade of the heart." Just like the heart was the centre of a Jedi - like the crystal in a lightsaber - a Jedi's use of the Force was the external application of that heart, and a Jedi's usage of the Force reflected the heart beneath.
"All are intertwined." Karrus began putting the final touches in place, focusing on the precise application of the Force in making sure the crystal was aligned.
"The crystal, the blade, the Jedi. We are one."
Karrus reached out and flicked the activation stud. His lightsaber buzzed to life, humming with a high pitch and shining a deep green. "I did it."
"You did, Karrus. Well done."

Karrus stepped aside and allowed Picas to sit where Karrus had. Picas looked through the footlocker, took some parts from it and arrayed them neatly in front of him. He began meditating on the Crystal Code, the very same code that had guided Karrus through his lightsaber construction.

Picas had created his lightsaber, and had attuned the crystal to his own Force signature. He held it aloft with the Force before him, examining it. It had a wooden handle edged with durasteel, with an innate carving of which only Picas knew the meaning. It was slightly curved. The Jedi Historian did not mean to have a curved handle, but Picas trusted that it was the Force guiding its construction. As a user of Form II, Picas knew from his steadies that a curved hilt would make his lightsaber wielding better. He hoped he would never have to use it in rage, but knew that his destiny woud force the matter. They couldn't bring balance to the Force without bloodshed, but Picas vowed to keep it to a minimum.
He looked at Karrus and plucked his new lightsaber from the air and ignited it with a snap-hiss. His blade shone a vibrant blue, and Picas felt like the Jedi he was always meant to be. "Now, Karrus, we are the New Dantooine Jedi."

Picas and Karrus had went about their own duties after they had created their lightsabers. Picas was thinking of how to grow the New Dantooine Jedi, and what such an organisation should look like. He wasn't sure that a Jedi Council was the best way forward, especially with it being just the enclave. But before that issue could be decided, they needed more Jedi. But how to do that? Picas thought back at his time on Dantooine before his death. The Jedi then had been close allies of the CDDC, but that organisation didn't exist anymore. But...
Picas had an idea. "Karrus!" He called loudly. Karrus had been in earshot, who found Picas moments later. His lightsber was proudly displayed on his tunic, and his robe parted enough to show it. He raised a questioning eyebrow in Picas' direction. "I'm going to Glee Anselm, to find more Jedi. I want you to look after the enclave while I'm gone, and visit Garang to see if you can find any force-sensitives there."
Karrus nodded. "Good plan, we do need more Jedi. Leave Garang to me. How do you plan on getting to Glee Anselm, though? And why?"
Picas frowned. "I'm not sure how I will get there, I haven't thought of that. Wasn't your 'acquaintance' meant to be getting us ship? Can't you contact him? As to why, when I was here last the faction that controlled the planet also controlled Glee Anselm and set up a praxeum there. I'm hoping there are still some Jedi left who would like to join us."
Karrus headed towards a communications terminal. "I'll contact him immediately, Picas."

"No luck," was Karrus' explanation once he returned from the communications terminal. "And the long-distance call took a chunk out of my credits!"
"What do you mean, no luck?" Picas asked, standing from his meditating cross-legged position.
"I mean I couldn't get in touch," Karrus clarified. "no one answered. I mean, I know Malachor Five has terrible weather but I'd expect Jensen to answer my call!"
Picas shook his head. "Never mind, it's not important. I'll go into Garang with you and catch an interstellar transport heading in that direction."
Karrus nodded. "Well, I'm ready when you are."

The duo packed light, and left the Enclave empty. Picas was reluctant to do so, but knew that Karrus wouldn't be long in Garang. The capital of the planet wasn't large compared to other planets coreward, but the journey there was a lot longer than to the crystal cave, so Picas decided to use the Enclave's speeder - if it was still operational, that was.

Picas and Karrus found the enclave speeder, decades old, still sitting in the - for want of a better word - garage. Luckily for Picas, who had no idea about machines or how they worked, Karrus was very mechanically gifted. It only took him half an hour to make sure it was serviceable, and they got in. "I trust your judgement." Picas had told Karrus, though whether he should or not was a different story. Teeth grinding away at each other and knuckles white as he gripped the sides, Picas closed his eyes and Karrus sped them towards Garang.

Karrus arrived back to the enclave without incident, but he arrived empty-handed. Picas had set him on a mission to help rebuild the Jedi Enclave, perhaps even help to reform the Jedi Council, and had sent him to Garang to find Force-attuned beings that would be suitable. Picas himself had left to go to Glee Anselm to see if any former students still remained who could come to the Enclave and finish their training. He sincerely hoped Picas was having more luck than Karrus.
But the free time gave Karrus space to think, to think about the holonet announcement he saw in the capital. Other Jedi were out there, and they were fighting the Sith - just like Picas planned - but in a way that made them not Jedi. In a perversion of the Order, they seemed to act out of vengeance and did not mind killing innocent soldiers just following orders. Karrus didn't like it, and had deep and unsettling feeling that in their quest to bring balance to the Force, the Dantooine Jedi might be fighting more than Sith.
He headed to the main council chamber to practise his lightsaber techniques.

Karrus really didn't have a 'form' that he practised. Where Picas preferred Form II, which made sense if their main adversaries would turn out to be saber-wielding Sith and misguided Jedi, Karrus preferred the situation to dictate how he should react. If he needed to stab to win, then that's what he would do, regardless if it did not fit in with a chosen 'form'. He was sweating with exertion, and had not even thought to check the Enclave when he returned for visitors. It was not a big place, if there was someone there Karrus was sure they'd hear him training and come to investigate.
He continued his lightsaber drills.

Sweating from exertion, Karrus closed down his lightsaber and clipped it back onto his utility belt. Picas sure was taking a while, and that gave Karrus time to do some of that 'meditating' he was always talking about. Sith normally did not meditate, and if they did it was completely different to a Jedi's way. Now that Karrus was part of the Jedi Order - well, the Jedi on Dantooine at least - he best try the Jedi way.
He decided to do it in the archives. Even though he was the only one present, he felt more peaceful and calm in the archive room. Sitting cross-legged on a the worktop where he created his lightsaber, Karrus closed his eyes and began to breathe. His mind immediately and without direction went to what kind of Jedi the Enclave should have. It was a deep question that kept his mind occupied for a long while.

Karrus' imagined ideal of a Jedi came rather easily and quickly, which he thought odd. Odder still, he imagined Dantooine's Jedi as different from the Jedi he came to know as a Sith. Normally, Jedi were very arrogant and confident - he smiled as the thought came to him, remembering as if from a past lifetime - and they were quick to engage in violence to defeat 'evil'. Karrus did not imagine the New Dantooine Jedi like that. He looked to Picas for inspiration, where he imagined the Jedi being so powerful and knowledgeable about the Force, that they could forgo violence altogether. Their mastery of the Force would be all that was required to settle conflicts, and the wisdom that that would bring would stave off even the worst of disagreements. The Jedi would bring peace to the galaxy.
But then his mind cast to the current Jedi and their willingness to engage in what they say they despised - for any form of violence came from the Dark Side, regardless of intentions. Look at Jacen Solo. His descent to the Dark Side came from wanting to protect the galaxy.
Karrus decided to wait until Picas was back to discuss it more. He felt the task ahead would be a hard one.

He didn't have to wait long. Karrus felt Picas' presence approach during his meditations before he heard the whine of powerful repulsorlifts. He decided to wait for his fellow Jedi to make an appearance. He didn't know what had happened on Glee Anselm. Had Picas found another Jedi to join them? And more importantly, was this the kind of Jedi Karrus needed? Karrus reached out with his senses. He sensed Picas, a burning super nova of light in the backdrop of darkness. He also found another presence.

The other presence was rough around the edges. It reminded Karrus more of himself then it did Picas, who was always so pure and aligned to the Jedi ideals. He explored the new presence more, sensing Force sensitivity but not mastery. Who was it that Picas had picked up?
Karrus sensed them getting closer, so he rose from his meditations and stood to greet them. Picas entered first, his flowing white historian robes ever a sign of his dedication to past mistakes - and how to avoid them. Behind him entered a figure that Karrus was not expecting. A Naulotan, a tentacle-headed alien, strode confidently into the archive room. Nearly a full head taller than either Karrus or Picas, the being seemed intimidating. Its black eyes seemed to smile, however, and the lightsaber dangling at its belt meant that Picas had picked up another Jedi. Karrus overcome his presumptions borne from his Sith days, and extended a hand in greeting.
"I'm Karrus. Welcome to Dantooine!"

It had been only a short trip from Garang to the Jedi Enclave of Dantooine, something Athos was thankful for, since the speeder bike he had rented was not exactly the most comfortable ride, let alone for a Besalisk. Pulling up just in front of the Enclave's entrance, Athos dismounted the bike and made his way towards the entrance, reaching out with the force to see if there was anyone home, and if so, alert them to his arrival
