Obelisk Construction Site - Mustafar's Surface.
Approaching his second in command, Jen'ari Malvus, the darkly clad Zabrak smirked humorlessly at his quip about the throne room design. Honestly, he hadn't be around for the construction of the Golden Room within the Dark Diamond Palace on Iridonia. Had he been, things might have been done differently. But that was irrelevant now. Speaking to Malvus, he stepped up to the window overseeing the lava river below. The Dark Side was strong here. It was the perfect place to build the Obelisk.
"Your contributions to the cause have not gone unnoticed, Malvus. As for the designs, they are a...necessity. You don't live through this universe for as long as I have without learning how to build the proper fortifications to keep a potential enemy or disgruntled subordinate at bay..."
The Zabrak, of course, was hinting at his unnaturally long lifespan. A side effect of his father's alchemical alterations back in his youth. In his one hundred-sixty years of life, he had witnessed much. And he had learned even more. Some might have called the designs for the Obelisk excessive, or even unneeded. But with what was to come, having a stronghold that could theoretically withstand months under siege was a necessity. An expensive necessity, but everything in this galaxy was. After allowing his thoughts to drift, momentarily, he spoke to Malvus once more.
"Having secured trade with the Hutt Cartel, the excess finances from that will be allotted to the Hegemony as compensation."
The air conditioned draft within the prefabricated structure was comfortable, in comparison to the sweltering, hellish heat of Mustafar's surface. He knew the Jen'ari wished to speak with him, which was why he was still standing here. Malvus knew him well enough by now, that if he wished to speak, it was better to just come out with it directly, rather than beat around the metaphorical bush. Small talk was never one of Savage's strong suits. And Malvus knew this. And so, he continued to observe the flow of the lava river below as he waited for Malvus to speak.

Malvus scoffs slightly at the mention of the Hutts.
A necessary trade agreement... though one I feel may be a double-edged sword, depending on the plans of this Hutt.
The Sith was well aware of the resurgent Hutt Cartel, a new one under Ajuul. It was still rather in its infancy, something to be watched with a careful eye. Yet, somehow, the trade with the Hutts had proved to be very profitable. Sure, the SesTrade Hegemony had the funds and sources necessary to cover the whole costs, but it would certainly cause suspicion within the ranks of the government. After all, Viceroy Tarkin and other high ranking members were nothing more than the puppets of Malvus. Not everyone was under his influence.
From what I can tell, my Lord, we are on schedule at long last. This third Overseer has yet to fail us.
Malvus moves away from the holo-images, walking up to the viewport to see the foundations and some of the Obelisk's structure already present. It had taken several months, since the subjugation of Mustafar, to get where they were, when the original timing had it set to being done by now. Damnable predecessors, thought the Sith, too busy with other 'priorities.' At least now the construction was streaming forward and would be complete on the new timetable set.
With a new temple and headquarters, it is time to reorganize the Blackguard. To properly turn it from a simple and mutual arrangement to a true Order. And with that in mind, my Lord Savage, we should consider a philosophy. The Rule of Two sustained the Order of Bane. The Rule of One created the One Sith. The Rule of the Strong reigned supreme over the Brotherhood of Darkness.
All archaic, useless and outdated... they would not serve the Blackguard well at all.
So, we must create our own ideology. One that will sustain and shape the Blackguard from here on and forward. One that will be tthe driving force of this organization and that will serve as the heralding of a new era for the Dark Side. Wouldn't you agree?

Absently noting the approach of Malvus beside him, the Zabrak mulled over what had just been said. The Rule of Two, while having benefits, wouldn't fit the Blackguard. The Rule of One even less so. The Rule of the Strong held some merit, but again, it was as dated and as archaic as the rest. Nodding in agreement, Savage spoke quietly.
"Indeed. It has been something that has occupied my thoughts since coming together as a united organization. While each rule does hold some potential to be beneficial, however small it may be, we need something...different. If we, as adepts of the Dark Side, are to take anything from history, it should be that all past organizations and orders ultimately failed. Power struggles, quests for personal gain, infighting. It has all led to the downfall of the Sith, the Dark Jedi, and any other practitioners of the Dark Side. While I am not willing to completely forsake the ideology of the Sith, we need to implement something different. Something unheard of. We need...unity..."
An odd notion, to be sure, coming from the Zabrak, but it held truth. Divided, the Sith fell, time and again. Past experiences in being united had proven to be beneficial to the Sith. The Tyrian Triumvirate was one such example in recent memory. Three Sith had come together and created a branch of 'True' Sith, as it were. Working together and accomplishing goals that had been unheard of in prior orders of the Sith and the Dark Side. Himself, Kalen and Praxus had managed to unify a group of Sith and had succeeded in keeping order and stability for several decades before the old ways of thinking crushed that. It had the potential to work here, however. As Malvus was open-minded enough to realize that something needed to change in order for the Dark Side to be successful. Still organizing his thoughts, he spoke once more.
"If we incorporate the idea of unity, order and discipline throughout the Blackguard, we stand a chance at succeeding in ushering in a new era for the Dark Side. Cooperation can work. I have witnessed it first hand in the past, as you no doubt remember...what are your opinions, Jen'ari?"
He posed the question to Malvus, curious to see just how willing the Pureblood was, to change the way the Sith functioned in the galaxy at present. Perhaps they would agree, or perhaps they would uncover some other method that would work. And despite all of this talk, Savage had no intentions of surrendering or sharing any of his own power. The Sith teachings were die-hard within the Zabrak. He was willing to do something different, but certain qualities and traits were ingrained so deeply that they couldn't be undone. But he was willing to be flexible on the matter of how the Blackguard was run.

I am of the same view as you, Lord Savage. I am unwilling to forsake my upbringing and ideology with the Sith... I was born a Sith, after all, raised on a planet colonized by my ancestors, and have long lived as such. And yet, something must be done to ensure we do not create our own downfall as our predecessors have.
Malvus had awoken when the galaxy was changing immensely. From his place of slumber on Korriban, the Sith rejoined the stars and witnessed the rise of the Neo-Sith Empire. Its Sith'ari, though, proved unworthy, a man dedicated to decadence and slothfulness. The empire fell overnight and Sith successor states followed... many would follow afterward, large and small names, yet all of them fell to internal division. If something like that fell upon the Blackguard Reborn, there would nothing to stop it. Lord Savage was right though about unity, order, and discipline. Ideals that sounded very similar to the First Order, but Malvus wasn't going to mention that.
Unity, order, and discipline... to quell the traditional infighting, but still allow a healthy presence of rivalry. To ensure that all follow a code, a doctrine, and a path rather than seeking what they want and when they want, whether it benefits them or the Blackguard. And unity, to ensure that all are united under one banner, one ideology, and one ultimate goal, under a single supreme leader. It will certainly require a lot of effort, but if done right, it will ensure our survival and bring forth a thriving new era.

A small smirk crossed his face as he listened to his second. A wise choice, to allow Malvus to serve in the capacity that he was.
"Quite right, Jen'ari. It may seem odd or out of place for people such as us to suggest such changes to the way we do things, however, if there is one thing I can say I appreciate, truly, about the First Order, is its imperialistic foundations. Tried, tested and true, these methods work. Incorporating that ideology into our way of thinking will help us greatly..."
Turning away from the central viewport, he waved his right hand at the closest data-pad, causing the holo-image to spring to life. It displayed the design of the Throne Room Malvus had commented about earlier. Observing the schematics of the room, he spoke once more.
"I have no intentions of changing the way I run things. I have no intentions of changing the way I execute my decisions. But I will implement this new philosophy as though it were the tried and true traditions of the Sith. For it will become the new way of the Sith. It has to. Lest we fall back to squabbling among ourselves over the scraps left behind by the First Order or the Jedi. We are the true masters of this galaxy! It's time to remind them why the Dark Side is to be feared..."
As he finished speaking, his eyes were ablaze with conviction. He truly believed that they were indeed the masters of the galaxy. And he was tired of hiding, moving around in the shadows. While it did have its advantages, the direct approach usually proved the point just as well, and let the galaxy know who was responsible. And soon the time would come where everyone would know exactly what the Blackguard was capable of...

The First Order does have proven methods... it would not hurt us to copy those methods and alter them for our usage.
Though the Jen'ari was aware of his personal disagreements towards the Emperor, his former student, Nicademus Delvardus, the Sith still knew that Viox had a respect towards the military rule and the methods utilized by the First Order. They, like the Blackguard sought to do, had ushered in a new age of Imperialism, promoting a successor to the old philosophies that had failed before. Now the Blackguard Reborn, as its title goes, seeks to revitalize and renew themselves with newer ideas and ideology as the old ways had failed them before. As the First Order had proven the success of its ways, certainly the Blackguard would do the same.
To end the squabbling of our ancestors and predecessors will ensure a strong future. We will not end the rivalry, for it is in our nature to be competitive for each other, but we must end the infighting that has brought ruin to the past. That has brought empires to its knees and ensured the downfall of the Dark Side in all its forms. If we can keep with unity, we can succeed and thrive without any questions.
His superior had grand ambitions. With this new ideology, Malvus doubted that there would be any major problems... yet, there would be in the end. Certain individuals would think they could lead the Blackguard better than Viox, only to be slashed down or taught a humiliating lesson. Viox wasn't at the top cause he conceived the idea, but because he was proven to lead and proven to be strong.

The white ship sped low over the surface of the planet, careful to stick to less traveled routes, and steering away from mining establishments. The underbelly of the vessel was basked in a deep red-orange glow, as the currents of lava below it gurgled and surged against the jagged, ebony cliffs that surrounded the ship. In many ways, it was out of place on such a dark, hostile, and forbidding world, though the ship certainly had enough strength to survive such conditions. A ship like the X-70b would probably be dashed to pieces on the rocks, due to the harsh atmospheric conditions and occasional lava flares that rose up from the surface of the world, whereas this ship, designed for sturdiness and speed, was able to survive fairly easily. He would always prefer a ship built primarily for practical purposes, rather than something cutting edge and “comfortable”. Sturdy and reliable was the way to go.
As the ship cruises over the river towards its destination, operating primarily on autopilot, Roderick found his mind wandering to the luxury-loving consular that he had found himself lambasting on ship choice a few seconds ago. True, they were almost entirely different. And true, they were just friends, but he couldn’t help but allow his mind the pleasure of wandering back to the night they spend when they visited Lac du Celavy on Naboo. He remembered inadvertently walking in on a drunk Cecilia... playing with herself in the bedroom, and then Cecilia ordering him to join her. He had been sworn not to mention that event to anyone ever, but still couldn’t banish the pleasant memories from that evening. It was said that drink caused people to let go of their reservations and to do as they truly pleased... but could she really love him? The gruff knight who she played, almost like a cheap fiddle? He couldn’t really be certain...
He was interrupted by the beeping of the console, informing him that the ship had arrived at its destination. Peering out of the bubble canopy, he saw that the ship was hovering over a ledge peaking over the edge of a massive lahar that seemed to stretch endlessly into the East. It looked as though he would have to land on the surface and jump down to the ledge. Wonderful. Engaging the landing gear of the ship, he grabbed his cloak and tied it loosely over the scaly suit of armor that he wore. Stepping off the ramp of the ship, he carefully made his way over to the bank of the massive flow and peeked over the edge. The small shelf of rock looked like it would be able to support his weight, though he couldn’t really be certain. Turning around, he dropped both of his legs of the edge while holding on with his gauntleted hands, before letting go and dropping onto the shelf itself. Though shaking, it stayed in place. Shaking his head, he cursed the fact that he had let himself be convinced by Cecilia to do this before he entered the cave that opened into the side of the rock face.

Force pushing his way past a wall of stalagmites and stalacites that formed a barrier between the entrance of the cave and the deep interiors of it, he noted the fact that there seemed to be significantly less lava scarring on the other side of the makeshift “wall”, meaning that whatever was in here had been more or less untouched by the rising and falling lava flowing through the lahar outside the cave entrance. A series of strange patterns seemed to adorn the walls, evidently made by some great force blasting through the cave. Fairly odd, considering that the place was naturally forming. Lighting a torch to help show the way in the blackened interior of the cavern as he descended into it, he eventually came across a small series of underground lava flows. They were easy enough to cross here, but he had a feeling he would be seeing more of these as he progressed further into the odd series of spiralling tunnels, shaped and formed by some unknown force. Descending down a small ramp of rock, he turned the corner and ran smack into... some sort of creature. Igniting his saberstaff at one end, he quickly sliced the thing in two, before a handful more of the creatures attacked him from behind. Spinning around, he ignited the other end of his blade before throwing it into the small pack like a boomerang, instantly dicing then to pieces. Bending over to examine the creatures, he noticed that they appeared to be made of some strange, skin-like material. Man made. Now, armed with this knowledge, he had a better idea of what to expect ahead. Carefully picking his way forward, he came across a smaller tunnel that had collapsed into this one, out of which were spilling countless B1 battle droids, destroyed. Evidently this was some long destroyed cache that had been created by the CIS as the Clone Wars approached their end. Progressing forward, he smashed his way through a couple more of those bug-robot things before arriving at a large subterranean river- made entirely of magma. Pulsing and spluttering, with soot and sparks coming off it, like some kind of ancient forge. The massive, fiery line seemed to cut straight across the cavern, hindering any and all progress through it.
What the kriff...
Looking into the lava, he could see that there was something in it, but he couldn’t quite tell. It looked somewhat shiny, almost like a gemstone. But that couldn’t be the correct crystal, he wasn’t feeling any Force energy coming off it. No, this had to be some sort of trick. But then where on Earth was the real one...

As he looked through the cavern, trying to find an alternative path around the large flow of lava that had cut his path off, he eventually noticed a series of strange runes carved into the walls. Seemingly resembling some sort of ancient language. He was fairly well versed in some forms of ancient speech, this form of communication was nearly entirely alien to him. There was only one word he could recognize, for whoever had left this inscription was kind enough to translate it into Olys Corellisi, a form of communication that Roderick could understand perhaps a third of. Leaning in to examine the ancient characters, he deduced that the inscription was titled "Qotsisajak". He had never heard of such a thing before, and so instead decided to ask Cecilia about it. Activating his holotransmitter, it pinged for a few moments trying to find a signal, then reached out across the stars to the faraway world of Lehon. As the transmitter activated, Cecilia, who had evidently just stepped out of the bath, as she was wrapped in a towel and dripping wet, answered the holoprojector after about the fourth ring. Typical of her, always late. Sitting down on a nearby rock, he angled the camera so that it faced him.
"Roderick! What can I do for you?"
I found a strange set of runes on the wall of the cave you sent me to. I can't decipher them, save for one word. "Qotisajak". I sent you a recording of them, do you have any idea what they mean?
Cecilia seemed to pause for a moment while she pulled up the image of the runes. Examining them for a moment, she looked at his blank stare before she burst out laughing.
"You're kidding, right?"
Roderick shook his head, wondering in the back of his mind what she was laughing so much about.
"Silly. These are writings in the Ancient Sith Language. Give me a moment... I was never very good at the high dialect of the ancient speech..."
Roderick obliged, giving her a bit to translate the figures. Bored, he picks up a few rocks from the ground and tossed them into the stream of lava, trying to pass the time. After about ten minutes, Cecilia came back on the other end of the hologram.
"Alright, lets see. Erm... 'Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.' It's the Sith Code."
Alright, that's great and all, but how is that supposed to help me? I thought it would have some sort of clue as to how I'm supposed to do this...
"I don't know, you're the expert on mucking around in ancient ruins. Figure it out."
As Cecilia ended the communication, Roderick sighed. Cecilia always could be forceful. He would have to figure out this himself. Walking back up to the runes, he dusted the fine layer of volcanic glass shards, dust, and ash that coated the runes. This revealed that the lines were cut deep into the rock, and it also revealed a strange circular pattern adjacent to the ancient inscription. Strange patterns covered the edges of the circle, and what appeared to be the face of some mythical creature was cut into the center of the circle. Inlaid into the center was a jewel. Pressing his hand up against the circle, he felt a jolt of energy flow through him, and removed his hand. The gemstone glowed with a deep red color, and this quick spread through the carved channels in the rock. Soon, the entirety of both the circle and inscription burned with a scarlet hue. With that, the cave started shaking, and some stones began falling from the ceiling. Taking cover beneath an outcrop, Roderick watched as the river of lava slowly drained away. Obviously, he had done something by putting his hand up to the circle. After around five minutes, the entire pool had drained out into side channels, and so the knight walked up to the edge of the former river of deadly liquid and slid into the gash in the dark rock left behind. Examining the ground, looking for clues, he looked carefully for the wink of light indicating where he had seen the shiny object piercing through the ground. No... no... there! A small gemstone poked through the ground. Thanking his stars that he had worn gauntlets, he picked up the lava crystal, able to feel the heat from the object through his Sarrassian iron armor. Placing it in a satchel that Cecilia provided, he quickly proceeded to exit the cave. Right. Checking his data pad, he saw the other entry Cecilia had put into it. He felt his heart sink. Xonolite. Enough to make a suit of armor. That meant he would have to hunt down a Lava Beast... fantastic.

Dropping down from orbit, Gavin leveled off over the barren, fiery world. How many times had he come here for training before the Blackguard took over. So much was gained wandering the hot rocky terrain. Truth be told, he hadn’t expected to come back here for any reason, at least not out into the open terrain.
For now, he has steer clear of the Dark Obelisk, opting to land near the lava fields where lava crystals were much more abundant as were the dangers. Once they had what they came for, they’d go there so Krokaa could finish his lightsaber.
As the Zantac entered and took a seat, he motioned out to the terrain. "So what do you think of Mustafar, home of the Blackguard Reborn’s Dark Obelisk?"

Entering the cockpit, Krokaa took a seat as Gavin asked him what he thought of Mustafar. It certainly wasn’t what he was expecting.
"It’s not what I expected. Kind of desolate, isn’t it?"

Gavin nodded in agreement. "Indeed, it is. Darksiders seem to always choose worlds like that. But, take it from me, they certainly make for good training grounds." As they flew, the rocky hills and mountains began to fade and transformed into flat plains. "Here we are, the Crystal Flats. The old Blackguard used to come here to gain the crystals for their lightsabers, the same one you seek to acquire."
Bringing the ship down, Gavin landed on the edge of the flats. Powering down his ship, he motioned for Krokaa to follow. Reaching the base of the boarding ramp, he pointed out towards the flat land. "Focus your senses and seek out the crystal that calls to you."

Krokaa could only shake his head a bit as he thought about the idea of Sith and other Darksiders typically seeking places that were desolate. It might be a question worth asking down the road.
Following Gavin from the cockpit and down the boarding ramp, the immense heat of the world almost sent him to the ground. He expected it to be hot, but not this hot. Taking deep breath of the air, he righted himself and began to focus as Gavin suggested. He let himself reach out over the flats, seeking the crystal that called to him. Minutes passed, but long, he felt something calling back to him. It was faint, but clear.
Opening his eyes, he began moving across the field, not knowing or caring if Gavin followed. This was his task and he needed to complete it.

As Krokaa seemed to find a crystal among the flats, Gavin only watched for a moment, seeing what his student would do. A smile came to his face when there was no word or question, only action as the boy began making his way across the field on his own.
Gavin waited for a moment before following after. However, he only made it a few feet before something cauggt his attention. To his left, something seemed to reflect the light of lava in a darkened color. Splitting off from Krokaa, he went to investigate. To his satisfaction, he found what he sought. The black glass of obsidian looked amazing in its natural state, but he knew he could make it look even better.
He had no time, though to turn around to call out to the Zabrak as he heard something. Through the smoke a littleays before him, a Sher Kar emerged. Gritting his teeth as he took a stance, he jumped into the air in a backflip as it swung its scorpion-like tail at him. During his flip, he saw another of the beast rushing Krokaa. He knew this wasn't going to be a simple snatch and grab. It rarely ever was. But he had left that knowledge to himself. After the Great Hunt, he expected the boy to be more than capable of handling his challenge.
Landing on his feet, Gavin lifted a hand and unleashed a barrage of black lightning upon the creature, its cries resonating across the flats. He had a few of these things in his time, but even now, it was a welcome challenge. It would only make the reward that much more important.

Krokaa noticed as Gavin diverted his path after a short walk. Still, the Zabrak continued on. He wasn’t a child that needed someone to hold his hand. He was training to be a Sith, a leader among them for that fact. He couldn’t sit around and be guided. He knew his path and that was all he needed. Besides, he knew Gavin to be seeking something himself and probably discovered it already.
His thoughts were suddenly distracted though at the sound of something coming his way at a quick pace. Whatever it was sounded large. Turning to the right, he saw the Sher Kar running at him. But where did it come from? As big as they were, surely they would have noticed them out here. Perhaps they followed Gavin’s ship from another location nearby and just made.
There was no time to sort out the why, only that he had to fight. Taking hold of the lightsaber Gavin have to him for the Great Hunt, he ignited the crimson blade as he readied himself. He didn’t have the others to aid him but he was confident in his skills. The Great Hunt has truly shown what he could do. Facing this creature was nothing but another test he’d pass.
As the creature got close, Krokaa jumped and rolled to the side as it past by and came to a stop. Rolling quickly to his feet, he turned and leapt again as its tail made a strike. Flipping back, he knew he had to be cautious with the tail’s Fast reflexes. That would be his first goal. Bringing up his left hand, he began to focus the Force within it, gathering it up in a red orb. Waiting as the creature charged him again, he launched the Force Burst at the last moment to impact and stop its movements. While it was stunned from the attack, Krokaa leapt forward onto its back and ran along it towards the tail. It didn’t take long for it to recover and sent the tail flying at the Zabrak, but it was too late. Jumping forward in a flip, the tail pierced into the Sher Kar’s back as Krokaa cut through the tail with his lightsaber.
Landing, he smirked as he watched the creature scream and writhe in pain.

Not having time as well as trusting in his student's abilities, Gavin kept his attention focused wholely upon the Sher Kar before him. As the black stream of lightning caused the creature to be locked down in place and screaming in agony, he wasn't as concerned about needing to avoid its tail just yet. Soon, though, he expected, it would muster up enough life to fight back.
Reaching to the back side of his belt and removed one of his lightsabers. Typically, he always went for Deepstrike and Blockade for his normal selection. In fact, Scadav Soulu was rarely ever used anymore. It was the lightsaber he had created during his time as a Shadow long ago. Of all his lightsabers, it was the most elegantly designed, even bearing a crystal chamber, revealing the black crystal inside illuminated by a dim silver light upon activation. Considering the reason he was here, using it seemed the most appropriate and most satisfying. Flicking on the activation stud, a shadowy black blade emerged that coursed with electricity of the same color.
He brought in front of him, right hand crossing over to his left, leaving the blade to rest in front of him for a moment before pulling it back, pointing it at the Sher Kar. "Let's do this then." At that moment, he released the creature, the lightning diminishing as he free hand now moved back to hold the hilt as well, waiting for it to make the first move. His legs spread out a little farther as he prepared himself.
It took a moment, but finally, it got its bearing and unleashed a screech before rushing Gavin, tail pulled back ready to strike as it got close. Ten feet, five feet, then as it was but a couple of feet away, its tail flew at him quickly, seeking to plunge through his body. In response, Gavin stepped forward in almost a leap, spinning slightly to the side as he brought his blade around. This caused the tail to slip by and plant itself into the rocky ground as the black beam severed part of the tail. The screaming returned as it seemed to stun lock the creature for a moment. jumping into a backflip, Gavin spun in the air, landing on its back and ran his lightsaber into the beast's body, pulling it towards the head and carving it in half. reaching the head, he leaped off and pulled the blade forward, finishing the cut.
Landing a few feet away, he waited with his blade facing out until it screamed its last and fell over dead before spinning it around in a few elegant flourishes before extinguishing the blade and returning it to its resting place. From there, he turned and watched as Krokaa continued to take on his challenge.

Moving back in, the Sher Kar no longer had its tail to strike with, having it removed at the base with his cut. However, it still wasn't down yet and now it was about close quarters combat. Lifting his lightsaber up to his side, he charged it, seeking to remove its legs. It had six in total, but only a select few actually needed to be removed to make it immobile.
As he got close, the creature struck out in an attempt to bite him. Just before then, Krokaa leaped to the side and sliced at one of the legs. The front left fell to the ground as he jumped over the body to the other side, slicing across its back before landing, spinning as his feet hit the ground, taking the middle right. The Sher Kar slung its body around in pain as it tried to get the Zabrak away, forcing him to move back. So far, utilizing his skills in Ataru was a solid option, using the speed and acrobatic skills to keep it from getting a lock on him. Two legs down, four left.
Rushing the creature once more, Krokaa thrust his left arm out, unleashing a Force Push at its front right leg. It forced it to the ground at an angle, allowing Krokaa to step on its back and vault over it in another flip, slicing as he went. This allowed him to cut off the back left leg and cut into the body a bit. The current loss of legs made it completely unstable and unable to actually move, leaving it an open target. Turning, he chose not to take any chances and unleashed a barrage of lightning at it as he moved back in slowly. The screams came as it couldn't move, not even wriggle itself away. getting to its head, he plunged the crimson blade into it and worked it around until it collapsed dead.
With a few heavy breaths, he stepped back, replacing his lightsaber as he simply stared at the creature for a while before looking over to where Gavin was. It was then he noticed another dead body. Clearly, Gavin had faced one as well with much easier effort. Not something that shouldn't have been unexpected. He was far older and more skilled. Maybe one day he'd be as skilled as his teacher. For now, despite his growing skills, these challenges showed a bit tough.

Gavin watched as Krokaa worked his way through the Sher Kar, working at hacking away bit by bit, showing his growing skill and execution of the Ataru form. He was also approaching things with caution, never just simply rushing in blindly and utilizing his other abilities to ensure an opening. He was rather proud of what his students were accomplishing.
Once the creature fell dead, Gavin moved over to Krokaa, clapping a bit. "Well done, Krokaa. You've completed the challenge and have proven yourself worthy of the crystal you seek. Sometimes, you will face challenges, sometimes what you seek comes easy." He then began to move about the Sher Kar for a moment before looking back to Krokaa. "During the times of the old Blackguard that resided upon this world, Elite Minions would have to kill one of these creatures to advance to the rank of Wilder. Considering you are at the rank of just minion, you should be proud of what you achieved here. Well done. Now, let's get your crystal." He then motioned over the flats. "Lead the way."

It was actually a bit surprising that members of the old Blackguard used to kill Sher Kar to elevate in rank and that he was actually under the rank that underwent the challenge. It seemed to be a testament to his abilities. But when it came to challenges, he was glad for them as they only made him stronger. And in the end, he had his teacher's approval.
As he motioned to resume the hunt for his crystal, Krokaa nodded and continued working his way along the flats. Following the call, the minutes passed by, with almost ten minutes gone. After all that walk, the call was strong as he looked down and saw something shining in a small hole. Dropping to a knee, he reached down and took hold of the crystal which seemed to burn in his hand, but not in an uncomfortable way. At his touch, he could feel the power resonating from it. He gave a smirk as he stood, the final piece to the puzzle in hand. All that was left was finally finishing his lightsaber.

Following Krokaa, he simply walked quietly. All around them he could make out the shimmering of crystals buried in the loose rocky terrain. But Krokaa had to find only one. It wasn't too long before they stopped and the boy retrieved the one for him. With it in his hands, Gavin smiled. "We'll head to the Dark Obelisk so you can finish your lightsaber. For now, there is another task that must be done." Before he could turn to head back to the obsidian, something caught his eye. Moving a few steps away, he knelt down and picked up a crystal far different in color than the typical lava crystal. Its coloration was a fiery red instead of the burning orange. It would be a perfect addition to the sword he planned to make. It would certainly match her fire.
Placing the crystal in a pouch on his belt, he motioned for Krokaa to follow. Making their way back to the obsidian, he looked to the Zabrak. "Begin loading the pieces I break off. Just make sure to be careful with it." With a nod from the Zabrak, Gavin went to work breaking off large chunks. It was another twenty minutes spent until the batch of obsidian was broken up and loaded onto the ship. Once they were on board and ready, Gavin powered up the ship and took off for the Dark Obelisk.
