Janus listened intently to Pok as he briefed them on the mission. When he asked if anyone had any questions the boy simply shook his head. Straight forward as can be, let's just get going. He said with enthusiasm. In is not that he was impatient more he wanted to take action. To often he felt like people planned and talked about what should be done without taking action and sometimes taking so long to act resulted in them acting to late.

A smile crept up Aidan's face and he knew it. He listened to the briefing of course but he couldn't help it. Alliance Marines apparently were a rare sight these days. His partial black armor was suited for men with his particular skillset. Doing away with his thigh guards and shoulder plating, Aidan would be able to move swiftly through a firefight. That wasn’t his problem, however. While perfectly ready for combat, it looked like it was bombarded with blaster fire and concussion grenades. Which was true, of course, but compared to most of the soldiers here, he looked fresh off a mission. There were a few scratches and dents on his chest plate, a long scar that ran through his left gauntlet, and that one dent on his right kneeguard from that high knee to an Imperial officer's head still remained. He wasn't completely underdressed for the occasion though. Aidan wore a clean black sweater and tactical pants underneath. A sharp-dressed man, he was indeed. He looked around. Everyone else looked like they were either lucky or they knew how to dodge anything from blaster fire to the wrath of a woman. But would looking sharp help when a forty-foot wampa keeps you for dinner? Yes. Because burial garments were overrated to begin with. But what would really help is to know everything about these creatures. It's been a while since Aidan was stationed in Hoth and he wouldn’t say that it was his favorite memory with Foxtrot, but he knew that if they wanted to protect wampas, they would have to think like the men that hunted them. But if you wanted a chance against big bad Unkajo, you go to Aidan. Partial armor, dents, scratches, and all.

= Consuela Isabel Monteiro = She reclaims her datapad and reads the instructions that Ali Hadrix had inputted into it. When she finishes reading, she nods at the woman, her wavy tresses flowing around her magnificently. She departs from the commander’s presence, and approaches Volaris “Gunner” Gonar (Kind of obvious how he got his nickname), the commando is smoking when she approaches him, he looks up impassively when she’s standing before him.“So...I got the short straw?” He asks. He has a fairly good idea why the silent woman is standing before him. He’s to follow her. She nods her head, once, confirming everything he’ll need to know for now. He mimics her nod, drops his cigarette to the floor and squashes the last embers with his foot, more from habit than necessity, considering the weather here, which is barely keeping out the cold of this forsaken planet. “Right then, lead the way.” One down, two more to go; she heads next for another notable commando, Axton Nobulus, the flame-haired man spots her coming from a distance, followed closely by Volaris, and he knows he’s wanted for something. He straightens up as she approaches him. She’s a hard one to understand, but when she’s standing before him, he merely nods his head, and she turns away, fully expecting him to follow her like Volaris, which he does. Her final quarry is Danaewyn, a somewhat more talkative lady compared to her, but then again, anyone is more talkative compared to her. She sees the trio approaching, and she immediately speaks up, “Need something?” She looks Danaewyn up and down, then beckons her once, and turns away once more. Shrugging, the dark-skinned woman obediently follows after, breaking away from the other commandos she’d been talking to up until then. Now with her chosen commandos, she returns to Ali Hadrix, and Axton speaks up for the group, knowing that otherwise, waiting for her to speak would be as effective as waiting for the galaxy to freeze over. “Uh...we’re ready.”She hands over her datapad to Volaris, and the three of them pore over, suddenly realizing what they’re expected to do.
Now they’re really ready.= Sergio “Sam” Ghomesz = Sam nods at Ali, and falls into formation, ready to depart the second Ali Hadrix is. His Katarn-class commando armour is a unique modification from the stock variety. With a powerful propulsion unit equipped into his palms, the soles of the boots and a booster plus a stabilizer on the back, it’s designed obviously for long-term flight by itself. Drawing on a specialized power source, it can go on for a considerable amount of time. Additionally, the suit was equipped with a network of advanced sensors, allowing him to be able to conduct reconnaissance with relative safety. All this came at the cost of shields. All that extra space was needed to fit in the jets and the sensors.
Furthermore, this terrain will be challenging. It’s one thing to fly, but he’ll be facing wind storms that’ll be blowing him all over the place. He’s going to need more than just powerful jets to keep him going in the right direction, but he’ll also need to draw on the Force to keep him steady, something he’s not too fond of doing amongst the Adhartim (humans/mortals). But he is Sergio “Sam” Ghomesz, the team tactician, field medic, and famous overestimater. He’s always over equipped and overly ready for anything and everything, even unlikely encounters.
Why else would he be carrying rancor repellent and an anti-sarlacc spray?

=Pok the Zoologist= Hearing Ali Hadrix , Crystaall Sehefadu, Jan'ika Fett , Pok put what they said into consideration. With Ali and her forces that included Sylas , Way Too Many Characters , @kaytra , and @aidan , it seemed the need for Wampas to act like a sort of "army" to help take on the poachers seemed to no longer be a need. Looking over at the two Imperial Knights sent by Xeonon Solomon , and the Saarai-kaar himself with some of the other Jensaarai nearby himself, the large Yuzzem addressed them."Ok, after some thought, we'll forget about taming Unkajo. Seeing as we got ourselves a decent bunch here, I think we can create a decent force to take on the poachers. Though I think it be best to separate into two teams. One team to approach the Echo base from the surface of Wampa valley to take on the poachers, and one to do a surprise attack from beneath the valley by sneaking into Echo base from there within the caverns. Just remember to avoid harming any of the Wampas in the area. This includes Unkajo!" Pok told the whole group, then spoke one last time."Speak now on which team you wish to be on! Surface team or cavern team!" =Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= Knowing the caverns would be likely to have many Wampas there and chances were high that permafrost crystals could be located in the caves, the Saarai-kaar spoke out."I'll be a part of the cavern team! Both to keep the Wampas at bay and to help with any permafrost crystal searching." =Lynda Jarvio= "I'll be on the surface team! I want to make sure everything there goes fine without much trouble." =Ursi Krak'jya= Standing beside her master, Crystaall, the bothan girl waited for her master to say which team she'll be a part of.=Countess Isabella Valentina= "I'll be with the cavern team! My cryokinesis abilities will probably be of help in forming any ice with the caves." =Jinx Meenku= "I'll be on the surface team! Chances are I'll encounter more military machines on that team, so I'll be with them to help slice into any of the weapons to hijack them." =Enbilulu Ishum= "I'll be on the cavern team! Just in case if there's any military machines on that path too so the team will have a slicer to hack into the said weapons." =Dorothea Greennut= "I'll be on cavern team! My abilities to calm animals down will be of help in the caverns to keep the Wampas away." =Aeisha Kharn= "I'm on surface team! My ability to change into my more powerful form will help mow down any enemies in the valley!" =Ragno Araneus= "I'll be on surface team! I have a feeling I'll be more needed there than the cavern team." =Zal-Divar Zarich= "I'll be on the cavern team! Both to help fight any possible poachers there and help in the search for any crystals we pass by." =Maahes Rech= "I'll be on the surface team! I'll help them with any of the injured in the battle in the valley's surface!" That said, Pok turned to hear from everyone else announce what team they'll join on.

*Crystaall brushed the back of her head with her hand and grunted. She muttered to herself about how she disliked the zoologists decision to switch plans and just go for two attack teams. She decided she might as well bring hell, since she was equipped for the job, and it would give Ursi some good combat experience.*
"Me and Ursi will go for the surface." *Crystaall looked at Ali and did a head motion that told her that she'd like her to join.* "Ali.. I'd like to see you prove yourself on a full frontal attack. Unless you think I am better than you, my friend?"

I will take a position in the cavern team, I want to try and gather as much information about the area before fighting. Hopefully finding some crystals in the process. Janus proclaimed. He liked the idea of fighting head on, but he had very little experience with snowy areas so he needed to get used to and look at how the frontal assault was going before he could act adequately.

Ali glanced over at @aidan, the man her and the platoon had retrieved from self-imposed isolation on Tatooine just recently, before arriving on Hoth. He was a smug one, to be sure, though Ali respected that his haughtiness at least came with the leash of experience strapped to it. The man wasn't arrogant, but he wasn't humble either. Something about the way he smirked made Ali want to punch him at times. Shuddering mentally, Ali was reminded once more of how much former Foxmarine Miles reminded her of Sylas. Idiots, both of them. But they had their uses, their own expertise, experiences. Each one of them managed to surprise Ali when she least expected it, and thus, she just started expecting it. They were welcome additions, to be sure, though Ali continuously wondered why sometimes. As Consuela walked off to collect a trio of 4th Platoon's commandos, Ali lent her attention back to the Yuzzum, who had returned to speaking. After the scientist concluded with a request that they all declare their chosen teams, Ali listened to Garwig's accomplices rattle off one after another in a series befitting a puppet show. With an eyebrow arched, Ali looked to Crystaall Sehefadu as the woman began to speak, "Me and Ursi will go for the surface," she said and, tilting her head towards Ali, added, "Ali.. I'd like to see you prove yourself on a full frontal attack. Unless you think I am better than you, my friend?" Ali's only response was to smile softly with her red painted lips and reach for Crystaall's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. The cold metal prosthetic Crystaall had in place of her original hand may have felt strange to some, but Ali knew it for what it was: Crystaall's history as a soldier, as someone she respected. Silently, with her other hand held out towards the rest of her platoon, Ali made a sweeping motion across the group of commandos, dividing them in half. The commandos began to separate themselves into teams of four, each led by their most experienced Sergent. Sergent Theng Walf and Huff He'gai each assigned themselves to one of the two groups as their leaders. He'gai held up a webbed hand, "Caverns." Was all he said. Walf nodded, automatically taking on the task of the surface team. Wherever Sylas decided to place himself was fine with Ali, he had shown exemplary service on Bespin and had secured them @aidan as an asset on Tatooine. The man was as free as any other GALSAF commando now, to serve wherever he felt was best. Ali trusted him now, as much as she trusted any of her other commandos. The same she felt for Leftenant @kaytra, who had shown Ali some of the greatest flying talent she had ever seen in her life. The woman could have bested Jetiise, and Ali trusted the pilot with her life. Ali decided not to bring up Consuela and her team in light of the Yuzzum's change to the plan. Letting a zoologist decide their tactics was a foolish move, in her opinion, though she didn't plan on sticking to it if things went haywire. Whatever she thought best, in the moment, would become her plan of action. Such was the mentality of all GALSAF commandos. Mission, enemy, assets, environment, time, and innocents, those were her guidelines. As Sergent Walf took his side to He'gai's left, he caught sight of the young Mandalorian male that had just spoken, Jan'ika Fett. The youth spoke of recon and finding crystals, which piqued Walf's interest. He stepped over to the young man, clapping a hand over his shoulder. You might want to wait on the crystal hunt until we've finished with those poachers, mate. Walf grumbled pleasantly through his helmet's vocoder. It was uplifting to see such a young Mandalorian making his own life in a forbidding universe. So few cultures and races nurtured such individuality. And you're free to jump in with He'gai over there, ad'ika1, if you feel the need. We're always looking for more verde2 to lend a hand to the work.1: Child, specifically "Son" in this context. Term of endearment for youth. 2: Soldiers

*Crystaall felt the grip of Ali's hand through the nerve muscles of the dull metal arm, and gave a sigh of relief. She felt at peace with her close by, though she still wondered why Garwig did not throw out any suggestion. He acted as much of a puppet as the others within the Order, and she began to question her own position with them. She trusted him, but something felt wrong with her friend. Even before Bespin.*

*Kaytra gave a shrug and headed back to the gunship for her gear. From the cockpit she grabbed her tactical vest, sitting next to it was her M7A1 carbine. For some reason she favored slugthrowers of blasters, maybe it was just how they felt and sound. Putting the vest on underneath her jacket, she then grabbed her rifle and extra rounds. With rifle loaded, ammo strapped to her belt and vest firmly in place, she turned to Asha.*
"Looks like this is going to be a ground game for a while. No need to worry about frosty engines yet."
*Giving her copilot a nod she headed back to where Ali stood.*
"Ready when you are boss."

Aidan liked the idea of a frontal assault. He also liked hunting down in the elements. He just wasn't sure about the safety of everyone else doing both. The in-helm scanners were great but not in the heat of battle. Screamers, grenades, and remotes fit snugly on his belt. His new SSK-7 blaster pistol sat holstered on his right leg. And his machete, ever faithful and sharp, rested across his back on its sheath. He would definitely need them, screamers most especially. But everything else is out of his control. He’s just going to have to trust everyone else to react accordingly whether a poacher fires a direct shot or a wampa breathing down their neck. He nearly found himself reliving that fateful day when he lost seven brothers. It's been a while for him since he found himself in this very armor. Only, he doesn't have seven brothers this time. He was with thousands of faces he doesn't recognize along with a face that continuously changes. And that face is his only friend. The chances for a bloodbath are considerably lower this time around, but he won’t risk it. These men may not be his battle brothers but he would watch their backs no less. He was once paid to dispense justice and order with a few men. Now he they asked him to expand peace with more soldiers. And like with that last mission, he will not fail. He turned to Ali Hadrix.“All ready when you need me, Ma’am. Just say the word.”

Sergeant Huff He'gai had just volunteered his squad for the cavern team when he turned to see if Lance Corporal Jonn Sylas would be joining him per usual. The quarren commando's facial tendrils twitched in consternation when he couldn't find the man. Vesper Bandak noticed He'gai looking around and spoke up, "Looking for Sylas? Think I saw him head for the treeline a few minutes ago. Bandy shrugged, "Probably taking a piss." He'gai just shook his head and raised a webbed hand to his com.Sylas, hurry back. Change of plans. We are going to the caverns. Sylas? Jonn, come in.Elsewhere...Jonn, come in.The man pulled a fur-lined hood over his head, obscuring his features, as he stepped over the naked corpse of a poacher scout. Next to the dead body lay the clothes and rifle Jonn Sylas had borne. He strode towards and sat astride the starhawk speeder, turning it on as he spoke into his comlink, "Jonn can't come out to play right now. I'll be sure to let him know you called though. Buh-bye, then." The voice had a slippery, serpentine quality to it, laughing as it severed communications.
The speeder bike lifted off the ground and jetted away, as images of poachers and Echo Base flittered through the mind of it's rider. The shadow cast by the hood hid the man's toothy smile.Back At CampSergeant He'gai managed an alarmed expression, facial tendrils and all as he turned towards Leftenant Ali Hadrix. "We may have a problem."

Asha looked down at @kaytra from the open cockpit of the gunship. She frowned slightly, miffed that the vessel was not expected to see use, despite the armor the poachers had brought with them to the planet. "I'll keep the engines prepped anyways, just in case," Asha replied, sending Kaytra off with a friendly casual salute. As the other pilot returned to the rest of the platoon, Asha looked back down at the datapad in her hand and continued reading the book she had begun during the hyperspace voyage from the Armada.Ali kept Crystaall Sehefadu's hand in hers, not wanting to let go. Crystaall's concern for Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh had not been voiced, and Ali hadn't caught any sign of distress on the Jensaarai woman's face. Had she known anything was amiss, Ali would have brought it up, so any issue could be dealt with before the operation began. Ali looked over shoulder to spot Leftenant Kaytra standing beside her, reporting her readiness status. Ali nodded to both her and @aidan, who voiced his own report a moment later. Ali gave Crystaall's hand a firm, final squeeze, tugging on it gently to get the woman's attention. As Crystaall turned her head towards Ali, the Mandalorian woman planted a small kiss on her lips, leaving a faint smear of her red makeup on Crystaall's lower lip. Ali smiled at her, then gently releasing Crystaall hand, against both of their wishes, and pulled her helmet onto her head, sealing it in place.Gear up, folks, we're moving. Ali gave the warning through her helmet's vocoder. She hated the affect the device had on her voice, which she thought to be plenty attractive. Dismissing the concern of her own vanity, Ali glanced out of the corner of her HUD, where Sergent He'gai's had spoken to her from. "We may have a problem." The Quarren admitted, his facial tendrils flicking back and forth in an expression of worry and concern. Ali rapped sharply on the side of her helmet with her knuckles, a gesture that said, "comlink, now." She waited for He'gai to pull on his own helmet, the modified mouth piece protecting his facial tentacles . Ali opened a private channel between her and the Quarren. What is it? What's wrong? Ali had no clue what could possibly have come up; any GALCOM emergency alert would have come to her before He'gai, and their own mission had yet to even begin. Suddenly, Ali had the urge to look around, which she did by scanning the 360° scope of her HUD. No Sylas. What the hell is going on? Ali asked herself.

*Crystaall turned to face Ali as she squeezed her hand. As Ali gently kissed her Crystaall smirked. She had to start getting used to this. She watched Ali look around and sighed when she let go. She put her tusken rifle back in her main hand and put it up against her shoulder.*
"Is something wrong? You look nervous."

Having remained silent longer than the others the Imperial knights split up, the Aaragh going into the frontal assault and John walking into the group for the caves.

He'gai made a gesture with his hand that Bandak immediately understood to mean, 'look for Sylas.' The Commando took off immediately, appearing calm as he went towards the direction he saw Sylas take. Then Huff spoke into the private channel between him and the Leftenant. Sylas is missing. This is what I got when I brought him up on the com. He played back the previous conversation between him and the unknown voice. He'gai's eyes narrowed into slits. Listen. He played it back near the beginning, then paused. Speeder bike in the background. Just then Bandy's voice came over the general GALSAF frequency. Sarge, Leftenant. Found a body a few meters past the treeline. Signs of strangulation. And, uh, it's naked. He'gai swore in his native tongue before speaking up, Sylas? Silence. Sarge. We've never even seen his face. I can't confirm that, but... his gear and carbine are here. Also there's signs of a speeder bike having touched down here. This had several implications, none of which were good. If the corpse was that of Lance Corporal Sylas, then he was dead and their presence known to the poachers. If not then... one of their own had just gone rogue. He'gai switched back into the private channel, glancing at Jensaarai Crystaall Sehefadu before turning to look back at Ali Hadrix. Leftenant? He silently waited for her orders.

Ali felt her jaw clench, her hands balling themselves into fists as anger rose to the back of her throat in the form of her own stomach acid. She swallowed with difficulty, feeling both betrayed and embarrassed as she listened to He'gai's information on Sylas. For the moment, Ali disregarded the fact that poachers had been found already so close to the hangar. The man had deserted them, taken off at what he thought was the best time for himself to do so. The man was little more than a criminal after all, and Ali felt like an utter fool for letting herself trust him. She'd been skeptical of Jonn all through Bespin and on Tatooine, though he had proven himself on both accounts that he could not only hold his own, but that he deserved the trust of the men and women who relied on him, and whom he relied on. But now he had revealed himself to be the scum she had seen him to be on Bespin. He had to bail, but why now? On Hoth, of all places, one of the most remote and desolate worlds in the galaxy, and Jonn chooses now of all places to take off? Ali gritted her teeth, the anger rising as heat on her neck. Suddenly she remembered the vessel Consuela had sought Ali's permission to retrieve during the course of the mission. Could Jonn have possibly known? Was he thinking he'd use it to escape? Ali used her override codes to pull the image data Bandak's helmet had taken of the body outside. She shook her head, responding to He'gai's private text with venom in her voice. I saw his face on Tatooine, it's not him. He must have killed the man, then taken his clothes, which would explain leaving the weapons and gear. No point taking one only to be identified by the other. The speeder bike must have been the poacher's as well. Ali felt her shoulders tense and she felt the sudden urge to punch something that would hurt her. She forced the anger away as she heard Crystaall's voice asking her what was wrong. Pulling off her helmet, Ali looked over at her, chewing on her bottom lip as she thought of a decent response, her lipstick smearing slightly. She gently wrapped her arm around Crystaall's waist and pulled her close, her lips brushing against the nape of Crystaall's neck. "Smile like I'm telling you something intimate." Ali whispered, "I don't want everyone losing their osik. Sylas took off, killed a poacher and stole his speeder bike. I don't know where he is, or where he's going." Ali faked a grin and lightly bit Crystaall's neck before pulling away. Ali's neck and face were flushed red, but with anger rather than arousal, as she would have had it. However, no one picked up on anything amiss as Ali pulled her helmet back over her head and spoke further with Sergent He'gai. "You are leaving, now. Take a team, find Sylas, and when you do capture him, unless he puts up a fight. Then kill him." Ali felt her lip curl into a sneer as she gave the order, not at all bothered by it. Killing Jonn wouldn't steal any sleep from her night, considering he'd turned out to be a lying, two-bit criminal. She returned her attention to the platoon as they finalized their gear checks. They had brought plenty of anti-armor weaponry with them in the form of shoulder fired rockets and under-barrel grenades, but Ali couldn't help but feel they were packing a bit light. Thankfully, Leftenant Bonafeld would be maintaing the gunship's readiness level. The vessel would be called upon, though only in the most dire of circumstances as long as the weather kept up.

Preoccupied with his armor, Aidan noticed the change in mood with Ali Hadrix. If she hasn't been on at least five missions with Jonn, then he could guess what went wrong. “It's him ain't it?” He leaned over towards Ali, still focused on the comfort his Marine armor provided. He knew the answer of course. For countless missions, squads felt like Agent Shadow was a detriment during the initial stages but once the dust settled, he was still with them for the ride home. His chest felt tighter than usual. “That's classic Sylas, Ma’am. He don't stick around for nothing short of a free drink. The moment he hears of mission parameters, he's gone. Sure, you can send some boys over to look at what he's doing, but by the time they get there, he’d probably be done with whatever the frink he's doing. Heck, just send one man to shoot him in the leg, he'll be fine.” He continued to fiddle with his chest plate's padding until he just accepted the fact that his chest plate was made for a 22 year-old grunt and not a veteran with more muscle. “I know he's yours, Ma’am. But if he don't come back peacefully..." He paused, reaching deep into his chest, fishing out an old whiskey canister. He thought he lost this. Aidan kept looking forward, unfazed. “You can shoot me as well.” Now his gauntlets felt funny.

"I'll help them find Sylas. I also saw his face on Tatooine. Besides, where else would he go other then towards the pirates. His options are pretty limited around here if he wants to get off planet."

*Crystaall sighed as Ali told her what had happened. Sylas taking off now was a bad move for both him and the rest of the group. She tapped her helmet accessing a private channel that she had secretly established with all of Ali's systems.* If he manages to accidentally get caught in the fray, what do you want to happen? I trust Garwig, but I don't think if its a good idea to let the New Jensaarai to take Sylas in to custody. I can send R4 with your men, he'll prove useful.
