"A two pronged assault. The compound is defended by state of the art TIE Whispers and a nearly impenetrable anti-aircraft system. Our only guess as to why such costly resources were devoted to this camp is because it holds someone or someone's of significance to the Empire. Probably someone we could use. First we'll need to draw the TIEs away, which means we're going to need our best pilots flying this one. We don't have anything that can match that sort of firepower, so this ones going to come down to whose better.""I'm better." Endor grinned slyly. "Don't let that arrogance get you killed, General. The Rebellion needs you, even when your insufferable. Now where was I? Right, with the TIEs taken care of we'll still need to bring down the AA system before we can bring in the gunships and start extracting people. We'll need a strike team to approach on foot, infiltrate the compound, and bring down those guns." Jyn's fishy features hardened. "Given what we've seen of the air defenses, the compound likely has a higher than usual class of trooper stationed there. We can expect heavy resistance. Considering the danger, the team will be comprised of volunteers." She placed a webbed hand on the holo-table. "It's a risk, but it'll work.""I'm sold." Growled Endor, crossing his arms and puffing out his chest slightly in mock bravado. "I've never fought against a TIE Whisper before. Sounds like fun. My fighters a little older but she's still got a few tricks hidden up her chassis." He winked. "I also may have recruited the help of a Jedi from Corellia, one with a special ops team under their command. So this ones going to be a breeze." Vaughan had not known Endor particularly long, but he felt like he knew the man pretty well in that short amount of time, and was entirely unsurprised by his confidence when faced with the TIE Whispers. He'd heard about the fighters when they'd first rolled off the production lines and so had a fairly decent idea of the challenge Endor would be up against. But the man seemed jovial about the whole affair and seemed certain of his success. With the air support taken care of - being something he was decidedly lacking in being able to handle - that left the ground mission to organise I'll lead the infiltration team, my sword is a lot better and more useful on the ground than up in the air. I wouldn't mind testing my skill against some of their better soldiers...

Echo Base - Main Hangar Bay
As he is not only a gifted polyglot, but also quite the cunning linguist - as his spouse would happily confirm (because she has witnessed him employing his skills in communicating and orally speaking many times over the years, no other reason, really) - Santo has no difficulty understanding R6-66 and Chewfang as they welcome him and Jessica to Hoth, and laughs jollily at their jokes about the ice being free, telling them in Basic - since, while not all species speak Binary or Shyriiwook, for some reason most droids and Ewoks (even those who happen to speak one or another of the three different Wookie languages) understand Basic just fine - and in a merry tone, "Ho ho! The ice is . . . that never gets old, does it? And thank you both for the oh so warm welcome to your chilly home! Addressing R6-66, he says, There is no need to pull your hangar techs away, explaining while pointing to the custom CEC-YT-1500 Courier-Class Shuttle currently docked atop the Y-8 mining vessel, We have our ship, the Wunorse Openslae, all fueled and ready to make the trip home, adding with a wave to the Y-8, That is one of the ships we were sent to deliver."
In the habit of putting all manner of odds and ends in the voluminous pockets and sleeves of his warm red coat, Santo produces a Honey Melon cookie from one pocket and hands it to Chewfang, "Here you go my strapping young fellow! Stroking his magnificent white and grey beard as he looks at R6-66 contemplatively for a moment, Santo lifts an index finger into the air and tells the foul mouthed astromech, And I have just the thing for you too my little friend, producing a datachip from another pocket and handing it for the droid to accept with its arm so that it can enjoy the digital book he has given it to peruse at its leisure. Patting the sides and sleeves of his coat and then producing a bottle of Whyren's Reserve from yet another pocket, Santo hands the bottle to Chewfang and says, For Endor, from Sabina, and then rests his hands on his hips and, seeing that their Hauler droids have finished unloading all of the cargo he and his spouse were sent to deliver along with the ships, says, Well then, I suppose we had best get out of your hair, hadn't we?"
After exchanging farewells with Chewfang and R6-66, Santo and Jessica, as promised, get out of their hair, or circuits as the case may be, boarding their Wunorse Openslae and setting off on the return trip to Corellia.

No one was hesitating over the call to action. Both Endor and Vaughan had displayed an obvious eagerness at the challenge awaiting them on Dantooine, though Jyn was confident that both men would take the mission seriously, despite her vocalized reservations over the General's projected bravado. As a survivor of the horrors inflicted on Mon Calamari by a terror of the deep, she knew from first hand experience that the goods guys didn't always win, even when the odds were stacked in their favour. The Admiral was as keenly aware of the recent reports as all the men in the room, she had heard about the turmoil erupting across the territory of the First Order. There would never be a better opportunity to strike the labour camp and hopefully free some future rebels."I was hoping you were going to say that, Vaughan." Declared the Admiral, crossing her arms over the clammy bosom of her pearlescent white uniform. "We need someone with experience leading this and General Endor speaks highly of your skills. Take this." She said, reaching beneath the holo-table to retrieve a plain wooden box that she opened and slid across the luminous surface of the projector towards Vaughan. Inside was a rebel signet pin, a polished starbird pendant used to express rank. "You'll need to select a strike team, General Emrys." The promotion implied. It was just like Endor had said. You stick around long enough, or in Vaughan's case a couple of hours, and you get made General. Its just what happened with the main cast.Smirking from across the room, the other General in attendance was startled as his astromech droid R6-66 bumped into him from behind. The droid was carrying a bottle of Whyren's Reserve and a note from the Diktat of the Five Worlds. The cocky snubfighter pilot muttered the messages contents under his breath as he inspected the note, then raised the hefty bottle with all due appreciation. He held it up behind the Admiral's head, practically dancing behind the strategic leader of the Alliance, who would likely find it a lot less humorous. Sensing his movements, Jyn turned her head to regard Endor just as he slipped the bottle behind his back, smiling innocently as he handed it back off to R6. He then did his best to block the droid from the Admiral's view as he paced around the table towards Vaughan."See." He said knowingly. "What did I tell ya? There just giving these things away. Heh." His already fat smile widened significantly more. "But we'll make names for ourselves out there on the battlefield, when we free our fellow resistors from captivity and send a message to the First Order." He knew in Vaughan's case, this was personal."In 48 hours the Alliance fleet will rendezvous near the seventh moon of Tamarena in the Dantooine system. There are enough natural satellites to provide cover while we prepare for the strike. Dismissed gentlemen."With that, the Admiral saluted the gathering before turning and leaving Endor and Vaughan alone in the command centre."48 hours? Plenty of time to recover from a hangover. R6, comes back here with that bottle!"

Echo Base - Mess Hall
Dropping into one of the seats around the table the other members of the special ops team that had linked up with Endor's forces over Drall are sitting at, Kaniehtiio, a tawny brown and white furred, six foot tall sterile female Selonian, tells no one in particular in a smug tone, "Forty eight hours."
Benedicte Proulx, a 30 year old brunette native Corellian Jedi Knight seated beside a Wookie wearing a somewhat dressy blue and yellow coat as she tinkers with her partially disassembled lightsaber hilt, arches an eyebrow and asks the question she knows their Selonian sniper specialist with a unique talent for picking up bits of gossip as she skulks around practicing her sniper skills is waiting for someone to ask, "Until?"
Lifting her arms out to her sides as though the answer should have been obvious, Kaniehtiio replies to their pilot, "Rescue op we were told about on Drall. We're probs gonna be part of the team taking out the AA systems so the extraction team can get down and . . ."
Finishing Kaniehttio's sentence because he knows how much it annoys her, CDF Sergeant Heini Nusken, a 35 year old human native of Talus and career sapper with a bushy brown beard, says, "Extract the dudes we're going there to extract? Awesome. Any idea who we're going in with?"
Kaniehtiio says, "Freshly promoted General by the name of Emrys."
Heini chuckles, "Man, they're giving that rank out to anyone and everyone, huh? He's that blonde dude with the fancy armor, right?"
Without looking up from her datapad as she surfs the holonet for something to occupy her notoriously short attention span, CDF Specialist Garine Yesayan, a dark haired 25 year old native of Tralus of Lorrdian descent, asks, "What are we talking about again?"
Rolling his eyes, CDF Lieutenant Dyami, a 36 year old Drall with brown fur covering all but the area around his nose and eyes as he tells their slicer in his fussy nasal voice, "There are medications for ADHD, I can recommend one for you," which earns the medic a one finger reply from Garine.

He was quickly finding himself increasingly more well known amongst the NRA, something that was going to keep happening as the Admiral slid across now open wooden box. He plucked the signet pin out and attached it to his shirt, careful not to accidentally poke himself. It felt strange to be awarded the rank of General, especially quite so casually, but he hoped he would live up to the expectations of the role I appreciate the confidence Admiral, and I'll be sure to pick out my team pormptly... It was not difficult to tell Endor was up to something, even in his limited experience thus far. But what ever it was was undoubtedly harmless enough and so did not make too much of a point of it We'll make sure they regret taking those people captive, amongst other things... There was a long list of regrets they would have, but it seemed not the right time to list them all out. He gave a nod when Jyn stated they had 48 hours before the mission would begin. Once the Admiral was gone, Endor finally gave a hint as to what had been going on earlier at the mention of a hangover That seems ill-advised, and I have a bit of work to do to choose my team, so I'll have to pass for now. But you enjoy a drink in my honour... He dipped free of Endor and made his way out of the Command Centre and through the base. The walk through the hallways gave him some time to come to terms with his new promotion, for which he still felt a little surreal. However he was snapped out of such emotions as he stumbled into the Mess Hall where the team from the CDF were all currently located. He gave them a wave, recognizing their insignia Hi... Sorry if I interrupted anything...

Echo Base - Mess Hall
When Vaughn approaches the table she and her squadmates are seated at, Kaniehtiio sketches the freshly minted NRA General a jaunty salute as she smiles and says, "Not interrupting anything important, General Emrys. As she is kicking out the chair across from hers, the brown furred Selonian invites Vaughan to, Pull up a pew."
Heini opens his arms wide and cheerfully greets Vaughn, "Blonde dude with the armor! quickly adding a, Sir," since their Selonian sniper with the unique ability to acquire information of varying degrees of usefullness as she hones her art in concealment by slinking around and overhearing bits and bobs of conversations like the recent one in which Emrys had received his promotion did not happen to overhear anything about how much of a stickler for discipline when not in the field the new General happened to be.
Inclining her head in a respectful bow as her Wookie copilot roars and grumbles what can safely be assumed is a greeting, Benedicte looks up from her now partially reassembled lightsaber hilt and says in a distinctly Corellian accent, "Congratulations on your promotion, General."
Dyami, a fussy looking Drall with a nasal and often anxious voice even though he is among the more cool and collected members of the squad, says, "I understand we'll be, he lifts his tiny, furry fists and mimes a few punches, fighting the good fight with you soon! We're looking forward to it, sir!"
Garine, not looking up from her datapad as, having moved on from surfing the holonet to playing a game not likely to hold her attention span for very long, asks no one in particular, "Who is this, she jerks a thumb towards Vaughan, guy again?"
Shaking his head, Dyami advises Vaughan, "Don't mind our slicer, Garine, sir, ignoring the one finger reply from the squad's slicer that earns him, and then says, Ah, we've forgotten our manners, haven't we? I'm Dyami, our medic, and then points to each of the squad members yet to be introduced as he introduces them, Jedi Knight Benedicte is our pilot, Baqi'hansaka is her co-pilot and our mechanic, Heini is our demolitions expert, and Kaniehtiio is our sniper and, ahem, intelligence gathering expert."

It still felt weird being addressed by the title General, but he managed to calmly pull a salute back in return before sliding into the seat Kaniehtiio had kicked out for him Thanks... What followed felt a little overwhelming as the CDF members addressed him as a superior Officer. He sat through it, respectfully letting them get it out of their system instead of interrupting anyone. Instead he took the time to check out each member of the team, noting their species and the insignia's on their uniforms where possible to see. But most of all, his gaze passed over the lightsaber hilt sitting in front of the human female amongst the group. When they were all introduced by name, Vaughan was certain the Jedi Knight was likely the one that Endor had mentioned recruiting earlier You must be the crew Endor was talking about... You can drop the sir, I suspect any one of you have more time and experience in actual fights than I have ever dreamed myself of getting into. So until I earn that respect, Vaughan is just fine... He wasn't one to lord his position and title over anyone, especially not folk that undoubtedly had 20 times more combat experience than he did. He offered a smile then It's nice to meet you all, and so long as you're volunteering, I do indeed have a Strike Team I need to form. So all applicants are welcome, especially those of the CDF and Jed persuasion. Having some more competent tactical opinions around could be helpful...

Heini, the most chatty of the squad, grins as he nods to confirm Vaughan's guess about who they are is correct, telling him, "Yeah, bro', that's us. Diktat Gaultieri had the leaders of the Five Worlds each select their best and brightest to put together a team to be detached from the CDF and sent to Endor and the NRA, and, he waves his arms out to his sides, here we are, man. Rarin' and ready to go, bro'."
Benedicte, more reserved than their bearded sapper, has finished reassembling her lightsaber and is placing it onto a clip on her utility belt as she smiles courteously and tells Vaughan, "Consider us your first official applicants, General. We were sent to fight alongside the NRA, and as Heini has already said, we are eager to be of use."
Heini nods, stroking his bushy brown beard as he says, "Yeah, man, totally eager. Gesturing towards Benedicte, he says, She's, like, your best bet for that tactical jazz. Wagging his finger around to indicate himself and the other members of the squad, he explains, Rest of us are just grunts, you know. I mean, you wanna make something go boom in a useful way, I'm your guy, or if you wanna do some, he types away like mad on an imaginary key board, technical mumbo jumbo, Gari is, like, your go to hacker chick, or, you know, you wanna patch up some wound . . ."
"Think he gets the picture, Heini," Kaniehtiio interrupts their sapper before he has a chance to go on any longer.
"What picture?" Garine asks without looking up from her datapad as she starts making some updates to a viral program she has been working on.

He mentally made note of the name Gaultieri, not having encountered anyone with that name during his time with the Coalition. He would need to look her up, perhaps introduce himself at some point. For now, he was just thankful for what she had done in organising this team. He was also appreciative of Heini's relaxed attitude and less than formal address. He did his best to bear through Benedicte still using his new title, quite certain it would be a wasted effort to try get her to just use his name I appreciate your offer, consider yourselves on the team. What ship do you have with you?

Heini raises his fists in the air when Vaughan says that their application has been accepted, "Yeah, bro'! Right on! We, like, won't let you down, man!"
Benedicte, inclines her head in lieu of a bow while Heini expresses his enthusiasm in his own unique way, and her Wookie co-pilot roars his excitement volubly along with him, and then, replying to the General's question about their ship, informs him, "Baqi and I have a YT-2000, the Lepota. She's a bit touchy, but makes up for it with her heavy armament and shields, and also has excellent speed and maneuverability. We've converted the majority of her cargo space for use as additional crew quarters, so can transport up to 16 passengers, or troops, rather than the . . ."
Heini, waving a hand to hurry Benedicte's bragging about their ship along, finishes for her, "Yeah, man, including us, we can transport a force of 20, warning Vaughan, Word of advice, dude, Bee can go on all day if you get her going about her ship. How big of a team were you planning on assembling for the op?"
Garine, proving she does occasionally pay attention, spins her datapad on the table, not looking up from it as she asks Vaughan, "What's your mission plan?"

! ALL REBEL PERSONNEL TO THEIR TRANSPORTS. OPERATION KATH HOUND IS A GO. Klaxons flashed and sounded from the ceiling above as Echo Base's PA system alerted the rebels participating in the rescue mission to Dantooine that it was time to ship out. All manner of motley alien mixes flushed out of the adjoining corridors to the hangar as rebels in various states of mismatched gear boarded shuttles and slipped into snubfighter cockpits. A grizzly looking ewok with patchy greying fur climbed atop a pile of stacked crates. The elderly bear was wearing an orange rebel flight suit with matching helm, emblazoned on the shoulder with the symbol for Endor's Ewoks. He rubbed at a worn leather patch over his empty right eye socket, eliciting a barely audible wet squelch over the stamping of feet on the hangar floor. Tarfang summoned up a bit of his younger self as he sucked in a breath and puffed out his chest, temporarily ignoring the old familiar aches in his muscles and joints. The former captain of the Bespin Blood Pirates let out a hoarse shout."Come on you apes, you wanna live forever?" Climbing up behind the flight suit equipped ewok was the leader of the squadron, which was either named after him or the place he had come from, it wasn't entirely clear. General Endor pulled himself up beside Tarfang and stood next to him, also wearing an orange rebel flight suit, albeit his was quite a bit larger. The former forest druid turned rebel pilot rested a hand on the shouting ewok's fuzzy shoulder."Hey, we're trying to retain people, Tarfang. You start implying this is a suicide mission and we're gunna start running out of volunteers." "Oh, right." Muttered the elderly captain. "Let me take another shot at this. REBELS! MY BROTHERS OF THE BLASTER. DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S OVER THAT HILL? IMMORTALITY. TAKE IT, IT'S YOURS!"Endor buried his bearded face in his flight gloves and shook his head. Well, that was a slight improvement he supposed. Hopping down from the stacked crates, the burly bearded woodsman made his way over to his T-65 X-wing, where R6 was already waiting for him in the astromech slot. He slid into the cockpit and pressed a button on the console in front of him, lowering the canopy overhead as the atmospheric seals sounded with a squeal and a pop. Flipping a half dozen toggles and twice as many switches, the General brought the engines to life, causing the squared engine block protruding from the top of the fuselage to growl with mechanical aggression. Hot steam blew from exhaust pipes jutting out either side of the nose as Endor fed tibanna into the system, slowly pressing his foot down on the right pedal.ALL REBEL PERSONNEL TO THEIR TRANSPORTS. OPERATION KATH HOUND IS A GO. The hangar doors to Echo Base creaked on their motorized tracks as they opened to the frigid elements, peeling apart into their housings as the first set of transports launched from the bay and took to the sky, streaking towards Mon Mothma station in orbit before the jump to the Dantooine system. Endor reached up and batted a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the cockpit ceiling that served as his good luck charm, then lifted off the hangar floor, turning his snubfighter around as the landing struts retracted as the rear began to fishtail, practically chomping at the starting gate. Gunning the throttle, the modified X-wing hurtled out the open set of doors and scattered snow before blasting off towards outer space.

"Sounds like they're playin' our song," Kaniehtiio says with an eager grin as the order to get to their ships is given, accompanied by the blaring of klaxons and an Ewok with an eye patch makes a first and then a second motivational speech to get everyone's juices pumping, then flashes a peace sign as she gets up and then starts loping along on all fours towards the hangar bay, the end of her tail twitching as though she is already on the hunt.
Heni gets up from his seat and stretches his arms over his head as he tells Vaughan as Benedicte and Baqi run off to get their ship ready for take off, "Guess we'll have to hear about your plan on the way, bro'! Our gear is already on the Lepota, so I can give you a hand if you need any help getting yours there, then smooths his bushy beard down with his hands as he asks, I mean, if you're coming with us that is?"
"What hill was that furry one-eyed thing talking about?" Garine asks no one in particular, her eyes on her boots as she and Dyami start walking calmly off towards the main hangar bay, making a few of the Rebels running instead of jogging or walking like they are move around them.

Vaughan had been about to explain their team size and a rough overview of the plan he was still formulating in his head when the call went out. Well, looks like he was going to have to improvise a little more with a smaller team. Not much chance of gathering further volunteers now. He pushed himself up out of his seat I got everything I'll need on me. I assume you don't mind me imposing myself too much? He flashed a smile before following Heni and the others out of the Mess Hall and to the hangar bay where the Lepota was waiting. A 7 person team wasn't super ideal, but it was better than just him

Heini claps Vaughan on the back cheerfully when, after asserting he has all he needs on him, the General asks if they don't mind him coming along for the ride, "Nah, man, nah, s'all good, then nods his bearded chin in the direction of the hangar as he suggests, We better scoot though, bro', explaining as he starts jogging beside Vaughan, When Bee is ready to go, she, like, goes ya know? So we better be there when her and Baqi are done with the pre-flight or, like, we'll be lookin' for another ride."
Fortunately for Vaughan and Heini, they arrive in time to see Dyami jumping up at the top of the Lepota's boarding ramp to try and raise it. Spotting Heini and Vaughan, Dyami waves them up the ramp and says with a grin, "You guys just made it! Nodding at the control panel to close the boarding ramp, just high enough to be out of his reach, the diminutive Drall scratches a furry ear and asks sheepishly, Can, uh, one of you get that?"
After Heini slaps the button to close the boarding ramp, he tells Vaughan, "Lounge is just forward and to port from here, then adds helpfully as he reaches for a handrail, Might wanna hang onto something, bro'," as, having seen the boarding ramp is closed, Benedicte takes the YT-2000 up rapidly without any warning and then punches it to hurtle through the hangar doors before taking the ship into a sharp upward turn to make for orbit . . .

While the Rebels were out playing hero on a desperate mission to rescue their fellows in captivity on Dantooine, the Snowoks saw to the maintenance and care of Echo Base. A grumbling Redclaw waddled across the snow strewn floor of the hangar as he approached the General's time worn HAVw A5 Juggernaut. The old ten wheeled combat vehicle had been fitted with an impervium snow plow at the front, making it perfectly suited to clearing the snow that tended to build up outside the main doors of the base. Seating himself in the driver's seat, the chalk white furred chimaera unscrewed the lid on a thermos full of piping hot stim-caf and poured himself a measure into the lid that doubled as a cup. His button nose perked up as he scented the delicious steaming bean brew, smacking his lips before taking a scalding sip that sent rivulets of warmth throughout his fuzzy body. Setting the thermos aside, he turned the key and listened as the juggernaut's engine made a protesting groan, eventually turning over with a rumbling roar. Redclaw drove the plow vehicle out of the base through the main doors and got to work, clearing a runways strip of space in front of the frigid base. He waved to tauntaun riders returning from scouting missions as he passed them.Things had quieted down since the events of Mt. Permafrost. As it turned out, more of Redclaw's people survived than previously surmised, though the wounds to the collective soul of the Abominable Snowok people would be slow to heal. With the Feaster's theft of the Heart of Hoth, they could no longer rely on their ice magic. Fortunately Redclaw had never had much need of it. There was a little more wampa in him than the rest of his kind. After he was done clearing the driveway he put the juggernaut into reverse and began to back it up into the hangar.

Several days after the voting on Bothuwai, Baron Gorgano seeks to communicate with General Endor on the success with the Bothan people and government. Their agencies, such as the SpyNet and shipyards, would prove to be quite the boon for the New Rebel Alliance. Already, Bothans were signing up to join the Alliance, through Gorgano's unit, and seeking employment in the various places and offices from a simple soldier to a prestigious officer to a well-versed engineer to a skilled starfighter pilot. When the communication was permitted, the holoimage of Graemon appeared before General Endor and those with him.General Endor, it is nice to see you once more.Off screen, Gorgano presses some keys, allowing the newsfeed to appear of the Combined Clans Assembly voting the approval of the bill to join the Alliance fully and support the cause of these freedom fighters. Letting the footage roll for a bit, the Baron speaks further.Bothuwai, with the SpyNet, its shipyards, its industries, and the whole of its sector, have joined us and the cause. I am already getting a flood of requests which I will be sending a portion your way. Recruitment offices are flooded with eager souls and members seeking transfer from the Bothan Defense Force to our own ranks. It has been a hard fight, but it has been worth it.Graemon turns off the footage and continues to speak with the General. Is there anything further that needs to be done? Will the Jedi join us? Are other groups seeking to unite with our cause?

The General stood before the holo-projector, his back straight and broad shoulder forwards, resting his callused hands on his waist just above where his wooden handled lightsaber and blaster were holstered in his low hanging belt. A smile split his bushy bearded features as forest green eyes locked with the image of the Baron, maybe still in exile, but seemingly flourishing regardless of his personal political dilemma.
"Well met, Baron. I'm glad to hear it. I'll take anyone with the courage to stand in defiance of the fascist dogs of the First Order." He ran a set of engine grease coated fingers through the greying elements of his chin sweater, stroking the course hairs that were glistening with droplets of melt water after recently traversing the snows outside the base. "Quite frankly we could use all the help we can get. As for the Jedi, they'll help, or at least the Jedi Lords will. I can't speak to the Order as a whole, but perhaps it's time I made amends with Headmaster Frantz at the Academy on Corellia. I have a feeling we'll need them." More than a feeling. He still bore the scars from his encounter with a Sith on the peaks of Mt. Permafrost. The rebel pilot looked to the left, then turned his attention downwards to the bark brown astromech droid beside him. "R6, a little help."
Boop-Beep! Whirring forwards, the trashcan shaped little astromech extended its droid probe into the data-socket of the holoprojector in front of the General and the other rebel personal standing around the command centre of Echo Base. A brilliant image of two star systems burst to life before them, displaying the Calamari and Bakura systems side by side.
"Tarfang and I encountered...dark forces, when we liberated the Alliance's two MC-80s, the Aura Blossom and the Star Urchin, from the shipyards at Dac. Admiral Jyn Dackbar who we rescued said the Quarren in control there had some sort of mind control abilities, and I know what I felt with my own senses. Whoever or whatever they were, they were users of the Darkside." He scowled. "I encountered another of their kind, I think unrelated, when responding to a distress call at Bakura. That evil bastard was most definitely a Sith. I took out his ship but failed to finish the job, and he later tracked me all the way back here to Hoth." Endor winced as pain flared up in his side at the memory. "They're gone now, but that won't be the last we see of them. I'm sure of it. We'll need the guardians of the Light if we are going to have any hope of defeated the minions of the Dark. I was planning on returning to Ossus to seek out High Lord Lucien Malvern's aid with just that."
Crossing his arms over his burly chest, the General dispelled the dark thoughts that troubled him and seemed to stand defiant in the face of the wicked opposition they were facing.
"As for new allies, I recently met with a Senator Voon who pledged his aid to the cause. More ships and personnel, another base to fall back to. Things we need for sure. At this stage I think rather than seeking out allies, we be better served by getting our message out to a larger audience. We need to let the galaxy know there are still those of us willing to stand up against tyranny and fight for our freedom, that there is still hope. We need a transceiver large enough to spread our message across the entire Holo-Net. When people hear, when they know they aren't alone...they'll come. I know it." He winked, exuding confidence with a typical rebel swagger. "Until we figure out how to accomplish that, we'll be needing information, as much as we can get our hands on. I want to know whose out here on the Rim with us, be they friend or foe. There is no point striking the Empire if we leave our backsides exposed to the Sith or some other ill-intentioned evil-doer."

Graemon strokes his own beard, thinking upon what he had spoken with with the Bothan SpyNet's officers. Now, that they were allies, Graemon had a greater degree of looking at the classifieds and reports that were brought back by the various venues of the SpyNet. Both from physical agents and the utilization of long-range and deepspace probes and satellites. It was a very intricate system that would prove its worth, once more, in the hands of Alliance Intelligence. He was aware of stirrings along the Northwestern and Southwestern directions of the galaxy. Stirrings that were a bit close to comfort where he was situated.
Bothan SpyNet has reported of Imperial activity in the region of the Corellian Run's ending point near Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. Seems they are keeping to themselves though. Bothans believe its remnants of a dark empire that once ruled in that part of the galaxy. It imploded though and now only warlords are left to scavenge over the wreckage and debris.
As for the matter of Dac, well, Graemon wasn't too aware of that information. Bothan agents had spotty intelligence, but there was an indication of something stirring and lurking in the void that direction. The Baron had little dealings with the Jedi himself, who likely had a better picture that way. Only once had he met with Master Frantz when he was the Spymaster for the Corellian Coalition.
Suppose we will need to keep an eye out. I will see what the SpyNet can find out though. Their intelligence gathering is very concise and efficient. If anyone can get the information we need to give us a bigger picture, it will be them. They can likely even locate a good public transceiver for us to hijack too.
On the matter of new allies.
Senator Voon survived then? That is good to hear. The junior Duros commanded a resistance cell, as the commanding officer and a chief of state for that group, from the intelligence reports said back then. He was on the payroll of the Corellian Coalition which funded him with supplies, weapons, recruits, ships, and starfighters before the fall of the Corellian Sector. He can be valuable to Fleet Command.
Graemon recalled though that Voon was a hardline Republican, wanting to see the restoration of the Republic in some form. The galaxy's memory was still fresh of the last Republic which failed to even protect Coruscant and went out with a whimper. Its politicians abandoning her and its commanders refusing the call to preserve the democratic government. The same issue that befell the Second Galactic Alliance.

Graemon's approval of Voon helped eased some of Endor's suspicions. It was hard to know who you could put your trust in these days. The First Order had ears everywhere it seemed.
"I'm glad to hear it. He seems like a competent fellow. The Force knows he's been in this fight longer than I have." Endor raised an arm beneath his face and stroked his chin thoughtfully. "I'd like to put together a strike group. Nothing too large. Maybe a fast frigate or light cruiser with a couple corvettes and starfighter squadrons for support. It's time we sent these warlords a message. Let them know there is someone around whose is willing to stand up for the little guy, with enough teeth to back up their words. I need someone to lead it though. Maybe Voon's the duros for the job...unless, you are looking to get back in the field, Baron?"

Graemon did have experience with the Navy, more than Voon. Having server as an officer in the Republic's Core Fleets before it fell apart due to the pressure of two relentless attacks upon Coruscant. When joining the Galactic Alliance, the Baron turned to spy networks and police duties. The issue, however, was that his fleet had little in senior leadership. The former Coalition Third Fleet had practically vanished during the fighting retreat from Coalition Space. Not to mention the work that was needed to be done still with the Free Worlds Navy and the integration of their Bothan allies.
I would be more than happy to command, but there is still much work to do at Bothuwai. The role of the Bothans has just begun after all. Next time, General Endor.
Next time indeed, thought the Baron, as he turns slightly and keys a console.
I could loan you... one of our Majestic-class Heavy Cruisers and some of my squadrons. Highlander Squadron is one of our best and they fly XJ7s. Otherwise... there is Sevenstar and they utilize the Coalition-built E-Wing Type C models. Both squadrons are good for what they can do and probably the best I have.
Ironstriker might do the job. These Majestic-class ships were the fastest in his fleet and pretty well armed.
