"Understood, your Highness, sir", Harper responded, glancing at Emperor and Piett before returning his eyes to the map in front of him, still standing in attention.
"Are my orders to find that out? What are the means authorized?"
The other two could hear in Harper's voice how honoured he was to be there.

"Are my orders to find that out? What are the means authorized?" The Emperor looks at Captain Harper.Ultimately, yes. I want to know if this movement has connections with the monarchy and, if so, the Tetan government that is collaborating with us.Nicademus needed proof on whether or not the local government could be trusted and if a military-led governance was needed instead. He had allowed the monarchy to keep some local power in politics and affairs within the system. Yet, if the monarchy was abusing that privilege, the Emperor would not tolerate their transgressions. You will be given a legion of ISB Stormtroopers, a cadre of Imperial agents, a company of specialists and experts, and other means to conduct your mission. For now, establish the link, if there is one. If you encounter shady persons, arrest them discreetly. If you encounter potential allies, investigate, but see about earning their services. If you encounter resistance, deal with them.He would not allow such things to fester.Director, anything to add on?

When Commander Reiland entered Section C-Delta, most of the communications officers were on their station, just as it was expected for them to work. Passing by a bunch of engineers, that were currently working on a cable, he eventually stopped at the console, which was operated by Senior Lieutenant Johnson. "Greetings Lietenant", the middle-aged man stated, after the subordinate saluted only briefly, "It came to my attention that there were some irregularities within recent transmissions of yours. Since the Star Fleet Command is one of the major institutions within the command complex, you probably know why I have to ask." "Yes, Sir!", the man answered diligently without a doubt. "Have you found the solution to the problem?", the Commander asked, his gaze briefly resting on some of the human workers, working a few inches away from him, before he eyed the officer in front of him again. "Negative, Sir!", he admitted clear and formal, while looking then onto his console, "It seems to be linked to most recent repairs at the Sections, where cables had been replaced. Apparently some of our transmissions got mixed up with HoloNet recordings during the night time. Luckily no important leaks were spread out, yet..." The Lieutenant paused, as if something interrupted him. Blankly he stared at the Commander, who was giving him a questioning look. "Yes, Lieutenant?", he inquired after a while, which seemed to work at least to get back his attention. "N-nothing, Sir, it was just the memories of the recent campaign..." Reiland nodded understanding. Before they had been assigned to the Star Fleet Command's sections, they had both served within the military forces as engineering support forces, having witnessed some battles directly at the frontline. It wasn't unusual that some of the soldiers didn't recover from what they had witnessed and Johnson was no exception. "Either way", he continiued, now fully on track again, as he highlighted one of the problem hotspots as a visual reference on the console, "we suspect that there is a hacker at the HoloNet News, responsible for the attack. When we took over Coruscant, most of our communication grid is now running over their services and they did most of the gridwork, safe for the installations at Muunilinst. The oversector there still runs on the old grid, though there are plans to eventually merge." Reiland nodded, so far understanding. "So the attacker is someone, who is utilizing the direct connections between us and the HNN", he concluded, "You have already the full report for the ISB?" The Lieutenant nodded, handing over the code cylinder towards the Commander. "It contains all the detected location breaches and the IPs that have accessed these weakspots recently", Johnson stated firm, yet somewhat concerned, Whoever they were, I advice to be careful when it comes to the HoloNet News. The attacker most certainly works for our enemies or a local resistance group, yet we don't know if not the HNN administration or single members of them are truely dedicated towards the course of the Emperor as they had initially promised. Having similiar thoughts, Reiland nodded. "Once the Director will hear of this, I'm certain that we'll cleanse the mole out of their facility, no matter who it is or who they are", he promised the subordinate, a hand resting on his shoulder, "Long live the Emperor." Again there was a short pause, before Johnson nodded. "Long live the Emperor!", he repeated, before Reiland left, the valuable data in his hand.
With a brief sidelook towards the engineers, the Commander also kept in mind, that he would probably ask the ISB to keep an eye on these. For some reason he distrusted these facility workers already, knowing that some of them were hired from other worlds, that the First Order controlled or which had sworn allegiance to them in the past. Perhaps the mole was closer than one would think, he thought to himself, deciding that he would also mention these details when it came to the ISB.

--Moving through the air traffic, the Theta-class T-2c Shuttle carrying Lucius descended through the atmosphere, breaking through the clouds and giving sight to the grand city that was the planet. Standing behind his crew, the former Rear-Admiral allowed the view to fill his gaze. He had certainly seen grand cities before, but none came close to what laid before him. It was an amazing feat, to be sure. There was little wonder why the First Order sought to claim this place as their home.
Drawing closer to the city skyline, the shuttle followed the coordinates to the Imperial District where the presence of the First Order was at its height. As the vessel lined up with its destination, it wasn't hard to tell where Star Fleet Command was. With the surrounding buildings, a few were easy to tell based on design, size, and activity, As they approached, the shuttle co-pilot opened a channel to verify landing instructions.--
Star Fleet Command, this is the shuttle Warblade carrying Lucius Vasili. Seeking permission to land.
--It wasn't long before a response came, acknowledging the arrival and presented landing instructions how to proceed moving forward. Heading towards the designated landing zone, the shuttle touched down, its wings folding and the landing ramp lowering shortly after. Departing the cockpit as the crew powered down the ship, Lucius descended the ramp and made his way towards the building before him. Entering, he moved to the security that stood just beyond the doorway.--
"I am Lucius Vasili. I have been told to wait for escort to meet with the Emperor."
--Verifying his clearance to be present, the team did a scan to verify that he was carrying nothing that could threaten those within, taking his curved vibroblade, white SE-44C Blaster Pistol, and vibroknife.--

"I am Lucius Vasili. I have been told to wait for escort to meet with the Emperor."
--Verifying his clearance to be present, the team did a scan to verify that he was carrying nothing that could threaten those within, taking his curved vibroblade, white SE-44C Blaster Pistol, and vibroknife.-- Not long after the scan was done, the doorway hissed as a pair of Stormtroopers. These wore the newer First Order armor, but there were some differences from the original all-white appearance. This armor was accented by black shoulder pads, bearing the mark of the Empire, and a third of their helmet, on the right side, was black as well. These Stormtroopers were denoted as members of the revived 501st Legion, the Imperial Guard of the Emperor.
One Stormtrooper stepped forward, speaking with the ones who scanned in Lucius Vasili. A quick review of the details were done before the trooper addressed the Rear-Admiral.=Stormtrooper= Follow us, Rear-Admiral Vasili. The trio proceeded into the Star Fleet Command complex, moving inward to a turbolift. Once there, a pad was activated with a card that the Stormtrooper had, allowing them access to the sixth floor. It was quiet venture up several levels where the Stormtroopers escorted the visiting Imperial to another room that was also secured by a pair of their own. Clearance was granted and Vasili was permitted to enter.
Beyond those doors, he would find the Emperor, dressed in a white uniform, similar to that of the Grand Admirals, speaking with a handful of high-ranking Imperial officers of the Navy. A map was focused in on the area that appeared to be the border between the Coalition and the First Order. Red arrows indicated Imperial fleets moving in and clashing with elements of the Coalition Military. Fondor, New Plympto, Duro, Teyr, and Bestine were among the targets along the Corellian Trade Spine. It seemed that Imperial forces had emerged from both the Deep Core and staging areas at Rendili and Cato Neimoidia.=Imperial Officer= Imperial Third Fleet clashed with Coalition elements at Bestine just a few hours ago. Their defenses are collapsing at Teyr, thanks to the Seventh and Eighth Fleets, but Duro is proving to be tenacious in their stance. Admiral Regulus, and his Ninth formation, are hammering them with every inch they are forced to give.Another keyed a console, bringing up blue areas from Denon, along the Corellian Run.=Imperial Officer= Sensors detected fresh ships coming up from Denon, along the Corellian Run. Minimal though from what was detected. We should be able to block them off if we decide to call upon Admiral Sekorus' Thirteenth Fleet from our reserves at Rendili. The Emperor examines what was viewed on the holomap, hovering over them. Coalition still had a decent military to call upon. Their tenacity and fervent dedication was what would ensure they held on. By these movements, the goal was to isolate the Corellian system and force a peace upon them. A Stormtrooper approached Nicademus and spoke to him quietly. The Imperial turned to see the Rear-Admiral Vasili.Rear-Admiral, a pleasure to meet you. I wish we could be meeting in a more formal place, but this Coalition war ever requires my attention these days. The axe is sharp, but the shield is proving itself to be firm.He didn't sound too worried. Coalition had finite resources, but they were using them well it seemed.

--While it could be said he was considered a Rear-Admiral until stated otherwise and within the eyes of his men, there was something odd about hearing the title still spoken of him. The Diarchy was no more and he was only beginning to step into the First Order. His new rank had yet to be decided. And keeping his rank seemed unlikely considering that despite what it would imply of his character and skills, it was something yet to have been witness by his knew home.
Letting the thought pass, he followed the Stormtroopers. The trip was otherwise quiet as he looked around what little he could during their trip. Before long, though, they had reached another room, guarded by another pair. Being allowed access, the doors opened to him and he entered. Full of a few of the highest ranking members within the Navy as well as the Emperor, Lucius took a deep, quiet breath before stopping a few steps inward. It seemed this meeting Nicademus was attending had yet to conclude. As such, it was a surprise that he was even allowed inside to hear what was going on.
Yet listen he did. As the words spoken by the other officers reached his ears, his eyes shifted to the display and the contents there. A war was being raged, one with the Coalition. It brought back memories of his initial joining with the Diarchy, walking away from the CSA, the very order that he helped bring to its knees. It was certainly a trip down memory lane.
His attention then shifted to the Emperor as he finally address Vasili. He gave a slight bow before responding.--
"Such apologies are not necessary, my lord. Wars do not wait for one to conduct other business before taking action. To see a leader such as yourself to take a leading role in understanding the happenings of the battlefield speaks volumes of a leader." He then turned his attention back to the display. "I had heard rumors that the Coalition had begun to dwindle. I suspected it was the handiwork of the First Order. I suspect soon they'll finally be a memory of a thorn in your side? Though it sounds as if they are putting up a bit of a fight, even if it is futile. It's always in those death throws of existence that the full essence of a fight and stubbornness bear its teeth in attempts to survive."

The Emperor nods his head, turning to gaze at the holo-map once more.
The Coalition has a bit more fight in them than the Galactic Alliance had. That ultimate defeat was a mercy kill for such a dying nation.
His hand gestures forward, motioning to the situated map of the ongoing battlegrounds.
The tenacity of a foe that knows they cannot win is what my soldiers have longed for; an opponent who will truly fight to the end.
It was best to keep the blade sharp and well maintained. The legions and navies of the First Order were known for their skill and determination in the galaxy, a fighting force to truly be reckoned with. These were the soldiers that his son, Octavian, would inherit, one day, and see the Delvardus legacy endure as the Fel dynasty had. Even now, the youths and rising stars of the Empire were gravitating to both him and his sister, Fiora. They would lead the empire into a new era.
I have long been a commander, Rear-Admiral. Even as an Emperor, I dare not wear the trappings of royalty. An officers uniform has always reminded me of my origins and my role in leading the First Order; from the front. For no one will follow a leader who simply stays in the back.
True, now, the Emperor remained on Coruscant, but that was to give his generals their time to shine. A ruler could not hog all the glory after all. Still, there was that itch within him. Nicademus desired to take the bridge of a warship and head into battle once more. At least, one more time. The Imperial refocused his attention on Lucius.
It is unfortunate that the Diarchy is no more. I suspect plenty of the companies that had shares in the former CSA territory will begin coming to the Empire though. Do you by chance know what happened to Torkan, the other Diarch? The Inquisitor, Zariel, has recently joined us, yet we know not of the fate of her colleague.

--Lucius nodded as the Emperor spoke of the Coalition's final attempts to survive, despite knowing it had lost. The CSA had been the same and though they were the enemy, he had respect for those who continued to press forward as warriors, even when the odds were stacked against them. Some would say only a fool fought a losing battle, but for a true soldier, there was a pride in their stand and hope that they could come back. If anything, it showed that those who fought truly would fight until the end, no matter what. Conviction for their cause.--
"Truth be told, it is a rather pleasing thing to hear you speak of these final battles in such a way and that your forces would feel equally on the matter. I am a soldier and warrior, through and through. Though the Coalition is an enemy whose flame needs to be extinguished, there is a respect for those that would stand a fight with all they have to the end for their beliefs. And to keep the troops sharp with a true test of battle is always welcome. With no challenge and a complacent military, even a small, focused enemy could take advantage of all you have achieved."
--It also did well to satisfy Vasili when Nicademus spoke of who he was before becoming the Emperor. Knowing that the man before him had been a soldier and knew the horrors as well as the thrill of battle and what it meant for a nation and not some politician who had only even known war and conquests through meetings and holofeed helped further establish the image of the First Order better and thus further verifying the decision to come here.--
"Unfortunately, I would disagree. Many a men would follow men who stand from the back, especially those who possess charisma and a silver tongue. But there is no leader more worthy than one who leads from the front for that is a man you can always count on. Even if led into the pits of the greatest hells, at least they know their Emperor will gladly be the first to bear the flames."
--Once more his eyes turned to the display, his head elevating slightly as a deeper frown grew upon his features. The Dirachy was gone and it had faded with but a whimper, no glory or final stand to cement their legacy. Only a sudden coup and utter silence was left to end the order. Disappointing, to be sure. But his crew had cleansed those that had caused discord and they were ready to move forward once again, to find those that could grant them the chance for greatness once again.--
"Indeed, yet it is reality. If it had fallen, I would have much preferred and end like the Coalition, a final push, giving everything we had. A final chance for glory. But it was not to be, it seemed." His eyes then turned back to the Emperor at the question of Torkan's whereabouts. "I do not know of his location. I was on patrol in one of the newest claimed systems when everything went down. All I knew was the sudden demands of those that had been planted among my men loyal the cause of the coup. They had demanded our return to the capital to aid in taking over and stopping Torkan before he fled the system. Notions I did not humor and quickly silenced."
--It was only now that he finally knew of the Diarch that had come to the First Order. By what he knew, it was for the Inquisitor that the coup happened, though thought up by her or initiated for her because of ill-found loyalty was unknown to him. Perhaps in time he would finally have the answer to complete the picture.--

The Emperor calmly turns and gazes at the holomap for a small time. The silence that had come was more of gesture of respect to Torkan, the Diarch of the Solenbaran Remnant. Although the Imperial never had the opportunity to meet the fellow Imperialist in person, Nicademus would show both the living Zariel and missing Torkan their due respect for what they had managed to accomplish, despite it being such a small window of existence.
If he is missing, may he well and safe. If he is dead, may he rest in peace.
That was all the Emperor would say on the subject of the Diarch. Any Imperial would either want to find peace in old age or with a blaster in hand. That was the true way of death for any leader, any warrior, any follower of the Imperial cause. With that said, Nicademus turns to address Vasili.
The First Order always has its door open to those willing and determined to serve the revived Empire. We do not show bias, we do not betray ill-intent, we do not turn away even the lowest of street rats or the most unfortunate of noble children. All have their place within the First Order, from a simple Stormtrooper or labor worker to commanding a legion, a fleet, or a star system.
The Emperor was proud of the ship he ran. Draconian, meritocratic, and driven by loyalty and efficiency of his officers, soldiers, and officials. The First Order was all about progress. It was how they renewed themselves in this galaxy as the foremost superpower.
I can see why the Diarchy had you and why the First Order will be pleased to have you. You are keen, aware, strategically minded, and Imperialist in your blood.
Lightly, his finger taps thrice upon the console. His mind clearly thinking on what could be done. Vasili had a sharp mind and a keen awareness, however, the Imperial felt something... opportunism? Perhaps. Ambtious? Likely too. Yet, there was devotion to the Imperialist cause in this man's words and veins. Devotion to Imperialism, loyalty to the Empire, and a capabilities was all one needed to thrive.
You will be instated as Vice-Admiral within the Imperial Navy. Your ships will be repaired on the military budget, your crew rebuilt with necessary personnel, both veterans of the military and fresh cadets from the academies. I will confer with Grand Admiral Kasalle and my naval advisors on where to best place you among the fleets.
This was what the Emperor was going to offer: a step up in rank, pushing Vasili closer to the full rank of Admiral. He'd have to considered where to properly place Vasili. Perhaps the Grand Admiral could use him in the Outer Rim territories while she prosecuted the war front in Core regions of the galaxy.

--Lucius nodded. Time would tell what fate became of Torkan. Considering what had befallen him in the attempted coup, it wasn't outside the realm that the former Diarch simply departed the area and disappeared. Perhaps he figured that things would collapse, perhaps he simply watched from afar, deciding on whether to join the First Order or not. Maybe he was plotting revenge. A thousand possibilities, each more likely than the last. The worst case was that he, indeed, fell from his mortal coil and would no longer enjoy the riches life had to offer.--
"It is a hope that we can agree with."
--From there the Emperor continued on with what he had been hearing since arriving in orbit. The acceptance of those with an Imperial heart as if they had always been one of their own. Was it wise? Maybe, maybe not. Having the mind of an Imperial did not mean they would truly see eye to eye with another faction. No doubt other Imperial factions had been taken down by the First Order at some point or another. But it didn't matter in the end. What did matter was his acceptance into the grand order. All would get their chance to rise equally.
Then came the issue of rank. Once again, his head twisted upwards if only slightly when told he would be given the rank of Vice-Admiral. A step up, one many would be thrilled about. While there was a part of him that did feel this way, part of him felt it wasn't being given in full understanding of himself. The Diarchy granted him the rank of Rear-Admiral from the start, but they had faced him and they had learned of him first. What Nicademus had noticed of him was true, but anyone paying attention to his words and stance could say such things. If he was to hold such a rank, he wanted this man who would become his leader to know who he was, how he conducted himself, how he approached battle. From there, it would then be up to the Emperor if he still wish to offer such a rank.--
"To be offered such a rank so quickly, is humbling, my lord. However, before accepting such an advancement, I feel I must first divulge certain truths of who I am before continuing." He turned to the display, taking a step or two towards it before continuing. "Speak to those of the fallen CSA, and even some of the now defunct Diarchy, and you may hear some less than pleasant things of me. I am often called brutal when it comes to combat. This is a truth I do not deny. I have always been a warrior and I approach battle with all that I am and will do what I need to win. The CSA used me as sword and a mad dog, so to speak when they needed someone to get their hands dirty, though they would always shun me and keep me of a lower rank. The Diarchy, though they may not have been a fan of my more aggressive approach, at least acknowledged my accomplishments and allowed me to grow. When in battle, it is about survival as much as it is about a cause. To retreat and fight another day is tactical and is smart. But I tend to not care for those who surrender to save their own skin. Facing me is facing the chance of death. And while I do hold honor, I am also not afraid of doing things many would see as questionable or distasteful if needed." He then turned back to the Emperor. "That being said, I am not some sociopath, attacking innocent civilians for no other reason than to stir up an enemy. Though I may not refrain so easily in targeting civilian ships if their own military uses them as shields."
--It was now out in the open for those in attendance to hear. It was the only things he believed needed to be addressed before a choice was made less it come to bite him, and more so, his crew later down the line. At least now, if this rank was still offered to him, there could be no excuses regarding knowledge. Taking a deep, quiet breath, he looked around to the other officers before looking to Nicademus once more.--
"With such knowledge, would this rank still be offered? Do you feel I am not fit for command, much less a soldier for your Navy? Whatever your decision, I accept and will strive to rise to reach whatever heights stand before me."

There was hardly even a second of hesitation or wait in the response of the Emperor.
You will still be made Vice-Admiral of the Imperial Navy.
There was an absolute tone in the statement made by the Emperor. It seemed what was offered would be offered and remain on the table for Lucius Vasili to accept. After all, being brutal with one's tactics was certainly different than being brutal as a tyrant or a wanton destroyer. Besides, a brutal tactician meant merely being far more aggressive than others.
An Empire cannot truly thrive without men and women of many colors. Cautious strategists, bold attackers, well-rounded tacticians, fiery vanguards... a navy cannot truly function without a variety of personalities and views of their commanders. Otherwise, it ensures that the military is easy to predict and thus to exploit. I was once advised by the cautious Grand Admiral Garrick Needa and his bold colleague, Harlan Petrovsky, when I attacked the Galactic Alliance which saw their demise.
Ah, what a pair those two were. The Emperor wished he still had those two, advising him today. Jenia Kasalle was, nonetheless, a capable and well-balanced commander of the Navy though. Nicademus contemplates for a moment, thinking of times before where necessary measures were taken. One was recalled with ease.
Only once have I needed to truly execute a subordinate... they desired an Empire that followed the doctrines of old, protocols I did not agree with. They tried to force methods that I did not agree to. It was because of their actions that Naboo became a rallying cry during the Third Galactic Civil War. You know the difference between the right and wrong actions, Vice-Admiral. Perform your battles with your bold strategies and fierce attacks, Vasili.
His finger then points to the banner of the First Order.
Be an example for all Imperials to follow. Prove your loyalty, display your worth, and be efficient as well as effective in your efforts.

--Though composed, a slight tilt of his head revealed the surprise at at how quickly he repeated the offer, no a single hint of hesitation or consideration. He knew the man had listened, though, as Nicademus spoke of the need of soldiers of different backgrounds and opinions. So long as he didn't do anything that truly crossed a clearly ethical line or disobeyed orders given to him, he was free to conduct himself in way that was true to his beliefs.
And that was all Vasili needed to hear.
Raising his right arm to his chest, he gave bow to the man before him. There was nothing else to be said. All that was left was accepting the role and being ready to be sent forward on his tasks.--
"There is no further question about the choice made in coming here to the First Order. A strong, capable leader who understands the reality of the world around him and is open to the minds of those that serve. It would be an honor and pleasure to follow you as a Vice-Admiral, my Emperor."

Nicademus was pleased to see this happen. Gifted commanders were highly valued within the Empire. True, there would never be another Thrawn or Pellaeon, but the Imperial would still have talents to ensure the nation thrived after he was gone. When Octavian took the throne, when his child took over, and so forth. The examples made here and today would resonate throughout the Imperial history and ensure future generations strived to emulate those persons before them.
Then welcome, Vice-Admiral Vasili, to the First Order.
Nicademus nods his head slightly.
While your fleet is being serviced, and your crew given rest, why don't you go and enjoy the hospitalities of Coruscant? Someone from Star Fleet Command will contact you with details of your assignment, additions to your crew, and so forth.

--Standing tall, the newly appointed Vice-Admiral stood at attention and gave a stand salute to the man before him. He was uncertain of the proper salute of the First Order, but knew he'd learn soon enough. For now, this would do and he was certain at this point it was the best means of respect. While Emperor, he was still a soldier and stood by his men, not simply watching luxuriously in his palace.
After a moment, he stood at ease as Nicademus gave his suggestion of exploring the world, to which Lucius nodded.--
"That is certainly the plan. I already have as many men as my ships can let go of coming to the service, if for a day to enjoy the world and get some well-deserved rest. I'll have what remains take the ships to Foerost so to have the fleet serviced and have the others return here to enjoy their time as well." It was then he heard a ding from his datapad. Removing, he glanced it over, already knowing what it was. Looking to the Emperor, he held it out. "On the subject of my men, I have ordered my second-in-command, Captain Alastair Voz, and as well as the head of our ground forces, Colonel Jayne Viades to put together detailed dossiers on all of my men as well as full schematics and organization of every ship and vehicle in my service. After all, I may be their leader, but without my crew, I am but a single man and can do very little, especially on the battlefield. As such, I go to great lengths to ensure each man's actions and service is properly recorded so that everyone else can see what I do."

One Week After the Emperor’s Death—It had been an about a week since Lucius had arrived over Coruscant to the news of the Emperor’s death. The planet had become busy with officers and politicians from the First Order worlds to mourn the Emperor’s death and give their loyal to his son, the new Emperor. He had been present during one of these meeting, considering his rank as Vice-Admiral. He still held some reservations in wondering what kind of man the boy would end up becoming. For now, though, he pledged without question and would serve until Octavian proved he couldn’t rise to the occasion.
Stepping out the shuttle, he was a bit surprised at how quickly they were called back in. Surely the new Emperor had more than a few more pressing matter to deal with. However, he welcomed this summons. He was eager to see how thing had developed for Dice over the recent week. Once the summons came, he had gone to pick the man and a select few others up and ensure their safe arrival. They were is guests after all and this is responsibility. He was also curious to hear of his ship was coming along. Given the damage, he wasn’t sure what the verdict would be. Would it be repaired fine in no time? Would it take longer than expected? Or was the ship beyond saving and it was best to acquire a new vessel? He was sure the answer would come to light soon. It had made it to Jaemus well enough. It was the closest facility next to Yaga Minor that they could travel to, even by real space travel. If anything, it could be repaired enough to get it to a better facility.
Standing at the foot of the boarding ramp, he waited Captain Dice, CT-3949 .—

Dice had been, somehow, both recluse and adventurous with his week off. On the first day, he scoured Coruscant's libraries, trying to get caught up on recent history. He had to admit, it was strange for the Grand Army, the Republic and even the Separatists to be referred to like, well, ancient history. They talked about his brothers the same way older texts might've talked about the Ruusan Reformation. The Clone Wars remained one of the more pivotal wars, and a strange sense of pride gripped him over that. Like so many emotions he was going to feel that week, it was due to wanting to be relevant still.
The second, he spent with his brothers. Most of them raided whatever bars they could, celebrating the end of the Clone Wars, albeit a belated party. They couldn't find many though, most being closed in honor of the Emperor's passing. The senior staff grouped up with Dice, and together they spent the next three days together parsing new galactic law so they could find how to properly claim their ship. The Victores, best Dice could tell, would be fully refurbished. Though much of the ship was bound to be replaced, it was still the old girl.
The rest of the days were spent running around, trying to file claim forms over their Star Destroyer, keeping errant clones out of trouble, and just trying to process it all. Dice wasn't sure if he wanted to join the First Order. He wasn't sure if he was going to be able to not. However, Lucius Vasili was the only man who had proven himself worth the trouble in all this mess, so when Vasili returned, he eagerly went to meet back up. "Good to see you again," Dice had started. He wore his full officer's uniform, including the armor, as did his compatriots, though they had added even more color and garb to their white and red armor. He had been joined by two troopers, Lieutenant Acklay, Navigations Officer Mako and Chief Engineer Veleno.
He walked off the shuttle with less pomp than he boarded with. It was going to be an interesting day. One that would decide the rest of his to come, he reckoned.

—Lucius watched as Dice and his men, giving them a nod.—
"As it is you. I trust the week has been well spent. Besides the strange reality of the situation, I can only imagine the shift in your minds, having been deep in a war to suddenly find yourselves without one. No closure, no clean up. Just there then gone as if nothing had happened. No doubt a jarring sensation."
—He then motioned down the walkway towards the building, his steps blushing forward shortly after.—
"Have you received any updates on the status of your ship? The damage was quite sever. If it end up being incapable of repair, perhaps you can gain a new one. Venators, though rarer these days, are still produced. That being said, there are many extraordinary vessels currently in existence should you seek to change it up."
—Reaching the building, they entered to find a security checkpoint awaiting them. This was the central point of military operation, both army and navy, though they were divided into their own sections. One simply did not just enter freely without undergoing scans. For guests, especially new arrivals such as he was not months prior, would even need to surrender their weapons for the duration of their visit. Things were even tighter with the recent transition of power to the new Emperor.
Removing his vibrosword, knife, and blaster, he turned them over before entering the scanner as they ran a quick check over his credentials. During the week, Lucius had worked with High Command to verify Dice and few of his men to ensure a smoother process of getting through. Between that and the expected summons, there wouldn’t be much problem. Lucius even ensured to notify the checkpoint ahead of time to simply hold his weapons as to make Dice and his men a bit more comfortable leaving theirs behind, even if it meant little considering their location.—

“I browsed the holo-catalogues,” Dice said with some humor. “But it sounds like they’re able to patch up my own ship, and then some. Old bones given second life, that sort of thing. That’s a situation too poetically similar to ours for me to give the old girl up. Would be like giving up my crew. Or myself.”
Dice looked at the people he’d be leaving his stuff with. “Be careful, they’re antiques,” he said, halfway between trying to keep the mood light, and genuine concern for his tools of trade. They were, after all, a few of the pieces of his past he had left. Dice cautiously took his lightsaber off his belt. “And if this is missing, I swear…”
“Ease up, Captain,” Acklay consoled Dice, and the Captain realized he had been leaning in to add credence to his threat. Dice immediately took a step back, left the weapon of his absent general in the security checkpoint worker’s hands, and turned to follow Vasili.
“I appreciate the gesture, Vice Admiral, but I think we both know you’ve still got plenty of guns over me in here,” he said, not accusatory-like, but some degree of needling. “Who’s the big wig I’m about to meet? The new emperor? I don’t want to step on a land mine, if there’s any subjects to avoid…new head for the crown and all.”

—Lucius nodded his head as Dice spoke of the state of his ship. Being of this age and having access to the magnificent vessel that was the Kingsword, there was the side that wished to encourage him to seek out a new ship for him and his crew, a show of starting over. Yet, he said nothing more besides acknowledging the good news. Though the First Order now we’re able to produce the ships of the Diarchy, he had wondered if he needed a fleet to reflect his place in the First Order. But like Dice, he was not ready to part with his ship. Only when nothing could be done to save it would be finally let go.—
"I certainly understand the feeling. In which case, I’m glad they could restore her despite its rough shape. I’m also more than certain you notice a great improvement with the updates it receives with newer technology. Undoubtedly, she will be better than before."
—Silence and inaction were all that came from Vasili as he pushed forward with those taking his weapons. He could already see the troopers that guarded the area tighten their grips on their blasters, the smallest of lifts coming to them as he pressed in and became touch more aggressive. Lucius merely looked at them, giving the slightest of nods to signify then to lower their weapons. The man felt the man’s tension. To a soldier, their weapons were of great importance and was apart of them. From what he knew, for clone troopers, it was even more so. So for the intimidation he gave off, he knew none of it was truly real and only wished to express the value they had to him and his men. Eventually his own Lieutenant stepped in to calm him down.
When he was called out about the emptiness of the gesture due to their location, Vasili shrugged.—
"I merely wished to make you feel more comfortable handing over your own. Not but a few months ago, I was like you, a visitor to this place with no ties to it and had to surrender my weapons. In fact, within the past decade or so, this is my third government in which I have served. Most of my career was spent within the Corporate Sector Authority before I left and joined their current opposition the Solenbaran Diarchy. An easy choice when the former government refuses to acknowledge your accomplishments and constantly states how they never condone my approach to warfare, yet they freely send me out as their attack dog. The Diarchy saw me for the truth worth I held. Unfortunately a failed coup brought that order to ruin, so I came here. A choice I’m glad to have made."
—A pair of Stormtroopers then stepped up as the finally checks were approved and motioned for them to follow. Lucius nodded before moving forward. Through the halls they went, eventually coming to one of the larger conference rooms. Another pair of troopers guarded the doors. They four talked among themselves before the pair that brought them here left and one of the guards stepped inside to alert those within of their presence. All they could do now was wait.
He then looked back to Dice, ready to answer his final question and ease any concerns he had regarding who’d they’d be meeting—
"Most certainly we’ll be meeting with the higher ranked admirals and if all has gone well, the new Emperor as well. As for anything to be cautious of mentioning, outside of speaking ill of his father, the First Order, or the Imperial Knights, I wouldn’t be too concerned. He is still young and obviously inexperienced to this level of leadership, so I cannot say exactly where reason ends and emotions begin. But I suspect such is the case for leading an entire order like this."

There was one last checkpoint for Lucius and his guest, Captain Dice, to go through. This one, in particular, was flanked by no ordinary Stormtroopers that garrisoned and policed the Star Fleet Command wing of the Imperial High Command complex. Their distinctive markings, which were grey stripes on the shoulders, revealed their individuality among the Stormtrooper Corps. In the time before, they would be dressed in white armor with blue markings from Dice's time, but they still resembled the pinnacle of the Imperial Military. The reformed 501st Legion remained the most effective combat unit of the Imperial Army, serving as the bodyguard of the Emperor and his royal family while also performing both offensive and defensive operations for the First Order.
An Imperial Officer stepped forward, checking their credentials in quick fashion. A verification came onto his scanner when this was done. Keying an audio piece in his ear, an affirmative nod was given to one of the troopers who proceeded to open the door for the pair to enter. There, as mentioned by Lucius, were a handful of the senior staff among the Admiralty, the most notable of which was the aged Julius Arcavius, the trusted commander and long-time comrade of the late Emperor, Nicademus. The Grand Admiral, herself, was off patrolling in the Outer Rim with the Bellator-class Dreadnaught, Vigilant.
The group of high-ranking officers were reviewing fleet deployments near the former territories of the Corellian Coalition, now remade as the Five Worlds and becoming severely isolationist by what Imperial Intelligence had gathered. In the midst of them, to the left of Admiral Arcavius, a young man, close to thirty years, stood in a red variant of the Imperial Officer uniform. He had long and flowing red hair that was tied, as a knot, towards the base of his neck. To his right was another young individual, a male of dark hair and sharp features. The son of the Moff of Bastion, Roderick Rus, he was fast becoming similar in the advisory role as Brock Ferrum and Baltasar Delvardus were to the late Nicademus.
As they spoke, an attendant leaned over and whispered to the Emperor who paused their meeting with a raising of his hand. Octavian Delvardus, second ruler of the First Order, turned now to look at Lucius Vasili and the curious discovery of a captain from the time of the Clone Wars. This was the second time now that the Unknown Region had spit someone out from a different time period. Who knows who else was lost in those mysterious regions of the galaxy. The young Imperial removed himself from the Admirals, with only Roderick following suit, as he moved over to Lucius and Dice.
Vice-Admiral Vasili. I read your report from Dubrillion and the edges of the Unknown Region. My father would have been truly fascinated in meeting a clone from the Grand Army of the Republic days... it is unfortunate that he did not have the chance.
A pause occurred as Octavian sighed lightly, then turned to Dice. His hand extending to the clone.
Captain Dice, welcome to the Imperial Center and the heart of the First Order.
He continued to speak afterward.
I hope all levels of hospitality were extended to you during the period of mourning. I do apologize for how long it took for us to meet.
