The Gledalac, a Nemesis-class patrol ship, emerges from hyperspace and begins to maneuver onto a course that will take it from orbit down to the surface of the planet's northern hemisphere.
"Stay sharp, Razmik tells his assembled team of three Sector Rangers in his refined Coruscanti accent as he pilots the patrol ship towards the planet visible through the ship's forward viewport, but do try and remember that we're playing at being smugglers, so don't look too sharp." Continuing to brief his team, who like Razmik himself are dressed in well-worn clothing as befits their role of a smuggling crew living from one job to the next while trying to keep their ship repaired and fueled, explaining that he has no set agenda for their trip and intends to play things by ear once they have made it to the surface and select where and how to go about learning the proverbial lay of the land where the mining and subsequent smuggling of spice from Kessel are concerned, Razmik adjusts the patrol boat's entry angle slightly as they enter the planet's upper atmosphere and continue down towards the surface.

"Not really much to follow up on, unfortunately, is there? Razmik muses aloud after Armin and Wenqian conclude their report on what they had learned in Kessendra concerning the havoc visited upon the city during a conflict of some kind resulting in the deaths of several known criminals as well as a number of civilians who were unlucky enough to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. As he makes a few adjustments to their course and speed while taking his Nemesis-class patrol ship further from Kessel's gravity well, Razmik says, Though the presence of the Mandalorian in red coupled with the fact it was another Juvex Import and Export front being wiped out strongly suggests the attack is related to the others that have been reported, the absence of a second Mandalorian notwithstanding."
"Outta give 'em a frakkin' medal, Wenqian says as she runs a hand through her red hair. Well, maybe not with the whole collateral damage issue, but otherwise I say if these Mandos wanna wipe . . ."
"It wasn't just Mandos this time, Armin points out. I'm not so sure it's related to the other attacks. Whole set of different players here that . . ."
"Did the universe a frakkin' favor as far as I'm concerned, Wenqian interrupts the Zelosian before he can finish his thought. Aaaanyways, she continues with a shrug, we've got other gooberfish to fry, right boss?"
"That we do, Razmik says, agreeing with Wenqian where setting the pursuit of whomever had been involved in the shoot-out on the streets of Kessendra aside for another time is concerned given that the identities of the involved parties are unknown at present. Let's focus on what we've ahead of us on Taris," the Sector Ranger suggests, reaching out for the hyperdrive controls.
A moment later the Gledalac winks from view as it enters hyperspace.

With all the other traffic in system, the three CEC Medium freighters blended in well. None of them arrived at the same time, hailed each other, or in any way singled each other out from the crowd. However, all three were here for the same reason & with the same purpose. The Hutts were about to get the first prod of the quickly coming rude awakening.
Operation Railroad had come to Kessel.

==Raid on Kessel SL== <<106 PP; T10 Sector, Kessel>>
They passed through the system without so much as a glance by the Hutt overlords of the system. Freighters converted for massive amounts of slaves were common enough here, but they would soon learn the arrogance of that.

A rip in the fabric of space opened up into the exit portal of a hyperspace window as a sleep Sith Infiltrator exploded from the rip in reality and descended upon the planet. No comm transmission was issued requesting a clearance to land, there was nothing that followed - no pomp or circumstance and the infiltrator descended through atmo towards the First Order Occupation Center near the entrance to the Spice mines.

Time and space disgorged the ancient ship, and the 'Spear,' a D5 Mantis which had seen better days -- hell, better decades -- materialized outside Kessel's grav. At the controls, Galdaart Fel grabbed the control surfaces, and angled the ship toward the planetoid's surface. Behind him, Mel Tervho glared. They'd been arguing since departing Dathomir six hours ago, and the argument had only fizzled because she was right, she knew it, and he had owned his carelessness. The rest amounted to her blowing off steam at him for being an idiot. Which he also acknowledged. Which only infuriated her further.
When you have a disease that will certainly kill you, and limited time, the argument is that you should spend your time doing what is most important, such as tracking down your crew, your family, instead of joining an Alliance-funded half-assed mission over Taris, or taking contracts to rescue folks on Kessel. All things being equal, Fel would agree. Except he had no leads on where to find his crew, and they'd played the waiting game before. This is what he does. For better or worse. Move cargo from place to place. And ultimately, having a purpose was better than sitting, waiting. And who knows -- maybe taking contracts would earn them some intel.
Certainly, Mel couldn't argue the fact that Fel had come back from Raxus Prime with a new ship, (currently stashed for safe-keeping) and a lucrative contract. Sure, she'd been mad as hell he'd left her in the belly of an Alliance cruiser for three days, but this -- the brooding, and silent-treatment -- this was Mel 'getting over it.' It hadn't come to the point of Fel saying "you don't like it? Don't come along." And if it had, she would have come anyway. Fact was, Mel didn't have anywhere else to go. No home. No other friends. And so here they were, back above Kessel.
Last time we were here, Juvex industries was calling the shots. He said it conversationally, though the wound was recent, and raw. Don't I know it. came the reply. So tell me this, how do you plan to find your next meal ticket? They don't exactly give tours, y'know.
Fel thought for a moment, before replying. He's got cybernetics, Mel. Assuming the FO haven't deactivated or removed them, we can track. Also, says here he's got lavender hair. I only know one other guy with a purple 'do. Should be easy enough to spot. As for our reason for being planetside... well, you might not love this one.
Mel didn't reply, but Fel could feel the raised eyebrow from a dozen paces. We're here to pick up an order of slaves from Srecko Knezevic, of course.
He ducked the datacard as it sailed past his head. Melia stomped to the door, muttering under her breath, as Galdaart set a course for Kessendra.

Kessel - High Orbit.
The Nebula-Class Star Destroyer, Legacy of the Void exited hyperspace above the prison world of Kessel. Standing on the bridge was the Sith Lord and High Admiral to the First Order, Viox Savage himself. Normally the Zabrak would let his minions and lackeys do all the leg work when it came to tracking down a valuable artifact, however, this seemed more important than just any normal artifact. One that required his direct intervention. Especially with Vasari Nightshade being involved. From what he gathered, the Sith Sorceress was playing it fast and loose with the rules of both the newly formed Blackguard Reborn and Clan Savage itself. And that was not something he was going to tolerate. He had a vision for both Clan Savage and the Blackguard Reborn. And anything that threatened that vision was dealt with, swiftly and harshly. Despite Vasari becoming an accomplished Sorceress, he wasn't going to allow her to bend or break his rules. Not when he stood to gain so much for the Sith that served his cause as a whole. As the ship moved into position in orbit above the planet, Savage issued orders.
"XO. Begin monitoring all incoming and outgoing transmissions and as of right now, all departing ships are subject to inspection before they are allowed to leave this system. I am heading to the surface myself, to see if I can rectify the errors of our dear Ms. Nightshade before thise spirals out of control even further..."
Commodore King, the Void's Executive Officer, nodded in acknowledgement as he went about his duties. As Savage marched off the bridge, he signaled to hangar to have a shuttle ready for him by the time he arrived. Several minutes later, the robed Zabrak was climbing aboard the Lambda-Class shuttle. Within a minute of him climbing on board, the shuttle itself was lifting off the deck and exiting the hangar. Once cleared from the ship, the shuttle accelerated towards the planet's surface...

It was not without some struggle that the 'Spear' reached orbit. Fel had been wise to skirt the planetoid at a very low altitude to generate space between the incident at the FO spice mines, and themselves, and when finally he felt he could do no more (though he white-washed this to himself by saying he had waited long enough for the coast to be clear, when in fact it was just that he was barely hanging on...) he hauled back on the control surfaces, and the old D5 shot away from the surface of Kessel, breaking out of the thin atmosphere in less than 20 seconds. Fel flipped pages in his mental play-book to 'fast exits,' and before there was even time to perform a short range scan, he engaged the hyperdrive, and the 'Spear' disappeared into hyperspace

Breaking atmo, Erpon's ship accelerated from the surface of Kessel, leaving the prison world behind him. As he cleared the planet's gravity well, a comm rang through. Answering it, the image of a horned Mandalorian appeared. Listening carefully, Erpon agreed to what the Mandalorian said. Closing the link, he punched up the coordinated for the Smuggler's Run. Once complete, the ship accelerated to hyperspace.

The shuttle carrying Savage and Vasari broke through Kessel's thin atmosphere, heading for the the High Admiral's flagship. Once there, the shuttle would dock and Viox would disappear to his quarters. The Void herself, would pick up any straggling evacuation craft from the facilities on Kessel, then jump away from Kessel, heading back to Iridonia...

From the depths of hyperspace, a Providence-class Destroyer, followed up by a pair of Liberator-class Cruisers and dual Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruisers, exited over the space of Kessel. From the bridge of the Vagabond, Nasir D'Nar gazes down at the uneven and barren surface of Kessel. Xo's Eye, some still called it, out of reverence for the legendary ruler, Xim the Despot. It was a strange jewel, out here in the Outer Rim. A disgusting looking planetoid, barren and with very little atmosphere for life to truly grow, save the hardiest of species. This was where the slaves were sent en masse and forced to carve their life within the lucrative spice mines below.
He turns to one of his commanders, pointing directly at him.
Activate the battle droids and prepare the soldiers to load onto their transports! Its time to fulfill our promise to the Mighty Zordo!
He turns his gaze back at Kessel.
With the subjugation of this world, the Hutt Cartel will become richer beyond its wildest dreams!

With the invasion of Kessel being nearly completed and news of the Ajuur Cartel's recent success spreading slowly among criminal organizations, visitors from Hutt Space eventually arrived, being obviously outclassed by the Warlord of Nar Shaadda's current fleet within Kessel's orbit. Flanked by two Nebulon-B frigates, the Lictor-class dungeon ship Varn entered the orbit slowly after several transmissions between the fleets in order to inform them of the Ti Syndicate's arrival. It was obvious that the Syndicate's fleet came for buiseness matters, as it made its way towards the Cartel's fleet. A Weequay informed over a direct transmission to Nasir D'Nar's flagship that the Syndicate leader wished to speak the warlord in matters of trade, claiming that she can offer a generous gift of 200 slaves right away - the last hunting season within the Outer Rim was a fine one and the Lady wished to share her prey with those at whom fortune smiled.

Sensors on the Vagabond made the Cartel fleet over Kessel become aware, easily, of the arrival of a trio of vessels inbound to the planet. At first, Nasir contemplated how to best approach the oncoming fleet. In the end, the Zygerrian commander had his two Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruisers and a pair of Kossak-class Frigates serve as a rearguard. The guard would not let down, even as a Lictor-class Dungeon Ship appeared in orbit, followed by two frigates. However, the Zygerrian did not expect what came of the fleet's arrival to the system.
Business was the purpose, thought Nasir, and the offer of two hundred slaves to boot! It was an odd way for fortune to smile upon him once more. The Ti Syndicate desired to share in the fortune of their efforts and speak of trade... for this purpose, as clearance was given for Kaminoan leader to board his flagship, Nasir sent word to Zordo The Hutt 's trusted attendants to, not only update them on the pacification of Kessel, but the sudden, and fortunate approach and offer of the Ti Syndicate. Nasir noted that, if need be, he may require the Mighty Zordo's appearance through a holo-transmission to oversee and speak as the head of Ajuur Cartel.
Nasir descended from the bridge of his warship down to an available conference room. Command of the fleet was given to a fellow Zygerrian while command of the ground troops was handed over to a Devaronian veteran. Several Zygerrian soldiers were present within the room as Nasir took his spot in a chair and awaited the arrival of the Ti Syndicate's leader.

Once again Kian Ti was reminded, why she disliked meetings with the upper class of crime bosses, as she was escorted by Nasir's henchmen through the Providence-class Destroyer in order to find the conference room. Too many guards on the opposite side. Flanked by solely two cloaked MagnaGuards, equipped with blasters in order to serve as her personal bodyguard, she felt more than vulnerable in sight of the warlord's household guard. It was the sole reason, why Ti respected and feared the Zygerrian as like the Hutts he had his personal army. The Kaminoan surely had a few thousand men recruited for her own Syndicate, but already a glimpse upon the warlord's fleet had reminded her, that the Syndicate had still a long way to go, if it wished to achieve a similiar status. While only then she will be able to pay back her people, those who had already condemned her to this fate from the moment of her birth. Kamino will pay in blood some day for all, what I had to endure.
The door in front of her opened up, allowing the tall, slender figure to take a first glance with her green eyes at the man, she wished to impress. @solphaeron , warlord of Nar Shaddaa and now conqueror of Kessel - and yet like her dependent on the Hutt's support, no matter his power. Even in a criminal system, there were silent rules and agreements. She could easily see that the Zygerrian definitly kept to these rules as well, as otherwise he wouldn't be standing here. Neither would she, if she wouldn't have been aware of it. Revealing her face partially, she lowered her head in respect in front of Nasir, before she would start talking buiseness. "My congratulations to your most recent success, warlord", she began, while briefly looking towards the planet's surface below them, "The Ti Syndicate and I as its leader are honestly impressed once more by the cartel's might, while we appreciate the wisdom behind this decision. We are all aware of Kessel's rich spice mines. With the right tools and a resupply of these, I can imagine that it will mean good buiseness for the Cartel and those, who benefit from its generosity." It was obvious that she refered to 'slaves', when she spoke of tools.

The Zygerrian lightly clicks his teeth, a common habit of his whenever the male was about to think. This was more than just business that brought the Hutt Cartel to Kessel, it was a show of strength more or less. To let the galaxy know that the Hutts were rebuilding and looking outside the traditional borders of their space. Zordo, leader of the Ajuur Cartel, had contacted him to seek unity between that of Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta, a moon and a planet within the same system. Nasir was a traditional slaver and warlord, but he was ambitious and desired a greater playing field. Having gained the confidence of Zordo and accepted a beneficial agreement, he was named a commander within the rebuilding Cartel forces and sent, by his recommendation, to take the rich world of Kessel. Its spice trade would refill the coffers of the Ajuur vaults within no time.
By the words of Kian Ti, it was clear that she was offering a deal within a slave trading business. Nasir had plenty of slaves as it is, a good operation based on Nar Shaddaa that was able to strike out from Hutt Space and claim slaves as far as Kashyyyk to the west, Bothuwai to the south, and Jabiim to the north. It wasn't that far of a range, but it was enough to enrich himself and allow him to claim the title of 'Warlord of Nar Shaddaa.' The Zygerrian rubs his furry chin for a moment.
You desire a slave trading agreement with myself and the Ajuur Cartel I take it then, Kian of the Ti Syndicate. Slaves are aplenty everywhere and I can easily get them for myself... Zordo the Hutt has complete confidence in my abilities to do so. The question is why should I agree to your offer when I could easily do the same myself?
Now to see if Kian could present herself well enough to earn her an audience with the Mighty Zordo.
