The cats of the mighty Red Hand were out prowling the city. The invaders had quite openly all but declared war on the IF. And with that in mind the Togorian elite set about murdering those who intended to murder them. But quietly. As quietly as a giant feline humanoid could be that is. And whilst the cats played Pilot and Copilot stood listening to the elite Olaigh na Irandoideanna squabble. Was truly a sight to behold. Almost comical, so Pilot thought And then Copilot belched. Eyes rolling Pilot saw all attention fall on the a voice speaking in the tongue

So there the woman stood watching. They would all be certifiably insane in many a quarter. Fit quite snuggly into the extant environment of Manaan. She could handle this crew. Boland gently taking her into a seat in the dock then sat himself but was fast absorbed watching as Maureen ran in uneven figure eights with The hound following her. But suddenly speaking off the cuff in response to the ongoing debate Boland presented an offering -Boland- “Taighean Dubh!” And a wry smile crossed the face of Grace; was more than his six pack abs and rugged good looks that she found so enticing

Fingers of the right hand snapping a smile crossed the face of the ancient colonel -O’Dubhui- “Ceart go leor!” His trusty second in command, Sergeant Slaughter, following up his superior too added -Sgt Slaughter- Maith go leor!” Both men of course bowing deeply in a show of respect to Grace. And so it was

The pair sat patiently observing the whole shindig playing out. The planet was seemingly devoid of all life but things were about to get real, real fast. Kieran could feel it. And as the Kieran man envisioned the oncoming war of attrition Laoch could see a future all of his own. Bacon sizzling in a pan and coffee brewing. The daydream was cut short -Kieran- “Wake up fool!” Loach snapping out of the trance sprung to his feet, gun drawn. A smile crossing hide face Kieran spoke -Kieran- “Think Tis time for us to make like a tree and leave.” Nodding Laoch holstered his gun and the pair departed. The banter between the pair could be heard but it was hardly decipherable. One saying rang out loud and proud -Laoch- “Fag a bealach!” His brother in arms following up also said much the same -Kieran- “Fag an bealach!” The muttering became increasingly dimmer until one could hear them no more

The unit, to the man laid into sorting things out. And settling down. But several words seemed to awaken them ‘Fag an bealach’ The officers too took notice. And O’Dubhui replying said back “Fag an bealach!” Then a chain began -Sgt Slaughter- “Fag bealach!” -Troopers- “Fag bealach!!!” With Slaughter at the head the group left following Kieran and Laoch. Close behind came the CO

Grace sat watching the movements by the collective clan around her. It was breathtaking really. They all moved quite clearly of their own will. And willful were they. Yet they fell in unison so quickly. That was seemingly unnatural. No matter, it truly was a sight to behold. Boland stood, intercepting the aged officer as he marched his crew onward. But a few words were passed. Then as Boland was returning The Raven left her shoulder following the soldiers. In the meantime Maureen and The hound continued the never ending search for a whole lot of nothing. And higher and higher The Raven soared. Yet keen eyesight held a close bead on the people below. So on the creature flew

The men of the feared Red Hand joined those of the elite Oglaigh na Irandoideanna. Then the group split up into 4 pairs continuing surveillance. And to seek and destroy. One pair, known as Lamb Chop, worked on a top secret mission. They pair quickly lost their comrades. Good riddance:. Lamb kept wondering how a planet inhabited by fish people was governed effectively for years by feline humanoids. Really quite priceless when one thought about it. Was truly a lovely, peaceful day.

As the men under O’Dubhui spread out in pairs and set into action exacting horrifying retribution on those deserving. But given the always amiable relationship betwixt the Native Selkath and the IF few drawing on an honest read of Manaan could hope to create some asinine tale of the social conditions in Manaan. As the man thought he came upon a human. One of whom he’d spent hours reading the sorted files about. O’Dubhui certainly appeared calm. Sedate. Non threatening. In one shockingly fast moment O’Dubhui sidestepped the man then turning fast caught the individual under the chin with left hand, while simultaneously driving an eight inch dagger into the back of the neck at the spine straight through the esophagus at last exiting into empty air. A Togorian stood but several meters in front of him adding to the subterfuge. Made disposing of the body much simpler. And so on and so forth. Whoo hoo. Bit of blood here, couple pints there; if only O’Dubhui and his lot were donating. But gentle reader, let us get a right understanding here, the vast majority of Manaan inhabitants had positive relations with the IF and as consequence generously contributed to aiding them

Grace stood speaking authoritively -Grace- “We need get familiarity with the city.” Following her words she too headed out into the wider city. Boland was fast on the woman’s left, the blind side. As a rule if one walked with a dog with an eye missing it was best to not walk on their blind side. Plainly, this would unnerve the animal and as consequence it would be more likely to snap. Quite contrary to logic taught by this example, Grace had no issue with the man on her blind side. In fact it made her feel more at ease. The hound lead Maureen. Wait. The girl lead the dog. And as such the general manner in which the two walked. High above The Raven flew, keeping a watchful eye on his tribe

where to go fro here? The question seemingly so simple was baffling. But then Kieran eye caught a glimpse of the cute, kid and that massive dog she had. And indeed Kieran followed. And Laoch followed him. Kieran abruptly turning away from the group began to blaze his own trail. His brother came with him. The two men knew Ahto well. They were familiar with the physical makeup of the city and moreover they were well acquainted with the people. They wanted the upper echelon of the invaders. But Kieran debated just where to begin. Really wasn’t anybody there to deal with. Kieran seemed to recall The Old man warn of such. Conquering a place was child’s play; holding a place takes brains

Looking down from high above made a weighty percentage of individuals nauseous. light headed. Confused. The Raven, conversely, loved flying high and looking down. He could remain in this state for hours . The bird circled the island below. Observing. Far, far bellow Boland and Grace were strolling innocently along. Brief encounters and social exchange along the way were immensely informative. Immensely. Maybe they weren’t so innocent after all. This place certainly wasn’t. How did things get this far? The internal question was perplexing

The four units worked quite effectively. A fundamental part of their work entailed surveillance. And reappropriating lost resources . And murder where it fit

High above the Island city a bird with wings spread wide went sailing through the sky. BOOM! She was shocked. A slight move down of the left wing and up of the right and she missed the oncoming Raven. Then making a hard turn she joined the other Otherworldly being and flew. Was something eerily familiar to the pairing but she could not put a finger on it. Probably because she didn’t have a finger. At any rate the two birds flew together now

The unit was deep into the city. The men waded into their task. Undesirables were neatly despoused of but a point struck Pilot; many a regular citizen held fond memories of the “BIg Bad Evil IF”. Many. And these many were fast allies. Abruptly an old adage could be heard. Like a stone hitting water a ripple effect was set in motion and soon it could be heard growing….. Pilot himself was taken up, saying -Pilot- “Tongu do Dia toinges mo truath!!!” And his crew fell fast behind him….. Copilot gave Pilot a nod asking -Copilot- “Cad anois a chara?” But Pilot just gave a shrug of the shoulders

O’Dubhui was in the thick of clearing the way. He and his kind, They swept through the ancient city as avenging angels. All who opposed them were crushed easily. The old sergeant Slaughter was found none of this surprising; big mouths offering little more than high talk. Yet a certain element of the operation struck him, that being not the conduct of his men, which was impeccable but rather how they were largely welcomed with open arms by the native population. The ancient slogan rose up as if a storm rising and the old warrior with pride fell in with the chime - Sgt Slaughter- “Tongu do Dia tongas mo Thuath!!!” And so on and so forth the cry rang out….. All heartfelt declarations of unity aside, the seasoned colonel was taking stock of the situation on the ground. Observing. Closely. These supposed conquerors had frankly preformed a fairly sloppy job. Common among those acting like they knew what they were doing but…. O’Dubhui’s eyes thinned. Yes. Was as if they dotted all of their i’s but neglected to cross the t’s. And the grand assumptions made……
