Mary reached up with the Force again, once again pushing. This time she could feel the weight of the girl pushing down on her from the moment that her telekinesis made contact. She wasn't quite light enough for Mary to float around the room at whim, but Naan was light enough that it took her a few long moments to float down to the deck.
Once Naan's feet were firmly on the ground again, or as close as they would get this high up in the atmosphere, Mary went over to check the scrap crates. The last thing she needed was for the droids to melt down an entire crate of some expensive component or other due to a mismarked crate. It didn't take long to check them all & only one had been moved accidentally. A quick order to the HV returned the crate to the safety of the Secondary Cargo Bay.
Now it was just a matter of getting it all melted down. Mary fed in a line of commands, but didn't order the droids to start executing them yet. She had a little bit of prep work in the Workshop to do first.
-Mary Now we go get the forge & press ready for the fun part.
Leading the way to the Workshop didn't take long, as it was only just past the main boarding ramp, nearly directly under the Secondary Cargo Hold. Inside was the widest collection of tools & equipment that Mary had been able to gather from the Jedi Temple tech labs. One start-up menu & a quick reboot when it failed to start later & the small forge rig was glowing away & ready to turn the misshapen scrap into regular ingots.
Next was the repulsor mould. While she was fighting with its start menu, she went ahead & ordered the droids to start working on the previously set up commands. A few moments later & the two girls where joined by the HV carefully manoeuvring a crate into the room & the AD droid. The AD droid cracked open the crate & began feeding the misshapen bits of metal into the furnace. As the first bits of metal were finally getting properly melted, Mary managed to get the replusor mould working right. Deciding to test it with some basic ingots first, Mary watched as a stream of molten melt poured out of the furnace, only to be caught in mid air by the invisible tangles of force & shaped into ingot blocks.

Naan watched as Mary turned on the forge. It was a lot fancier than the ones they had back home. This one was metal, while the ones back home were stone. Naan got a bit too close to the forge and had to pat her mask down a bit when it started to smoke, but otherwise she was fine with standing back and watching Mary work the machine to get the mould right. Finally the verbal silence was broken by the guttural sounds of Naan speaking.
-Naan in Tusken- "What are you making?"

-Mary I need to make a frame so we can put the swoops in the Vehicle Bay.
Once she was sure the mould was working properly, she switched the design over to a schematic pulled from the holonet. Then Mary stepped back. They would keep running automatically now. Once it had spit out enough pieces for four racks it would switch back to making ingots. With the droids feeding the furnace, there wasn't much to do except wait.

Naan stepped back as the HV started to to dump more scrap into the forge. Watching this was a lot more boring than watching a craftsman back at home. It was pretty much all automatic. Back at the Enclave a small team of Tuskens had to work the forge together, keeping the fire up, as well as scraping off the impurities that bubbled to the top.
Naan put her right hand over her stomach as a large growl escaped. She looked up to Mary.
-Naan in Tusken- "Is it okay if I go get something to eat?"

At Naan's question, Mary realized she was hungry as well. It would be difficult to adjust from ignoring hunger as long as possible to having food any time she wanted again.
-Mary Sure, let's go get something together.
This part of it was automated, so Mary didn't really need to stick around to watch. Once the parts were done, she would need help assembling & mounting them, but that is what droids were for.

-Naan in Tusken- "Let me get something from my room really quick. I'll meet you back in the kitchen."
Naan ran off to her room, opening the door and rummaging through her still unsorted belongings until she came across a small bag. She grabbed it and ran out, heading towards the kitchen only to run into Mary again on the way there.
-Naan in Tusken- "There you are! Sorry, I had to grab my rations from my room."
As the two walked into the kitchen Naan ran to a table and sat down, laying the mysterious bag onto the surface. Naan untied the knot keeping the bag closed and reached into it, pulling out two things. The first was a jar of hubba gourd preserves, the gourd being the staple item of Tuskens on Tatooine, but with the longevity to rival almost any other food in the Universe, and not for the better depending on who you asked. The second item was a small box, and when opened it contained heavily salted Dewback jerky. Naan gestured at the two foods.
-Naan in Tusken- "Want some? It's really good."

Mary was baffled by Naan going to get what for all the world looked like trail rations. Very, very bad trail rations. Even after living off of half cooked rats for a year that looked terrible.
-Mary I think I'll pass.
Making her way over to one of the short term food storage lockers in the kitchen area, Mary decided to go with a hunk of meat. Hard worn habits aren't easy to lose. Plopping the meat into one of the many cooking pans, Mary pressed the ignition for the heater. Nothing happened. Several more jabs at the ignition continued to provide no reaction. Just as she was hitting the button again, a gas warning popped up in her HUD. This time there was a spark. Unfortunately, it was also at the base of a rather large volume of flammable gas. There was a powerful poof as Mary's front side was completely engulfed in the short lived blast. Jumping back from the blast, Mary quickly patted herself down, checking for flames. Fortunately, her leather duster & her mask has protected her from harm if not the surprise. Mary gave the stove a dirty look as it blazed away quietly & controlled. Moments later she was preparing her meat, though it would be more accurate to call it 'carefully burning' more than cooking.

Naan turned her head slightly as she heard the fwoosh of the flame as she was sticking a piece of Dewback jerky under her mask into her mouth. She did not seem to be too surprised or worried about Mary, but only because she had never seen a gas operated stove before and assumed that that was how it worked. After all, how did you know there was a fire unless it burst forth?
-Naan in Tusken- "Do you have any lill?"
Naan chewed loudly on the tough jerky, setting the piece down and unscrewing the top of the jar of the hubba preserves, dipping her gloved hand into the jar like a spoon. She moved her hand with the preserves under her mask and began eating the extremely bitter preserves. Naan sniffed the air for a moment before speaking with her mouth full.
-Naan in Tusken- "What're you cooking?"

To be honest, Mary wasn't sure what the meat was from. Most of the supplies had been from local sources, as that was the cheapest available. She had included a request for a large selection of spices, though she wasn't sure why.
-Mary Not sure. It would be in that locker if we have any.
Most of the ready to use food stuff was stored, at least a little bit, in the kitchen. The Food Storage Room one door over was mainly supplies in stasis for long term storage & replacements for when things ran out in the kitchen.

Naan licked her gloved fingers and got up from the table, walking over to the locker and opening it. She scanned through the selection of different spices before finding one that looked like lill. Undoing the top of the container she sniffed it and smiled when she recognized the scent of the spicy additive. She ran back over to the table and poured some of the powdered lill into the hubba preserves and scooped out some more with her hand. She held the jar up with her other hand and shook it around towards Mary.
-Naan in Tusken- "This would taste really good on your meat. Did you put any spices on it already?"
Naan coughed a bit as the spice got the better of her for a moment, hiccuping as she inhaled after coughing. Despite the fire inside her mouth, Naan continued to eat and enjoy the spiced up preserves.

Mary watched the girl try to choke herself on whatever spice she had picked out. Mary decided she had enough 'hot' for one day. This was turning out to be a very flame inclusive day, & the sun was only just beginning to rise.
-Mary I'll pass.
Pulling her hunk of burned meat from the fire, Mary cut off the stove carefully. Watching it for a moment to make sure it wasn't going to do anything. Once she was sure it was really off, she sat down next to Naan. Hitting the release for her mask with another of the painful sounding pop-hisses. She set the mask down beside her, where she could still she the subtitles to Naan's talking before tearing into the meat.

Naan shrugged and poured more of the lill over the top of the hubba preserves before spooning another bit with her hand and slipping said hand under her mask to eat. Naan chewed loudly for a bit, her mouth opening to let air in to help with the spiciness. Another hiccup sent her up into the air a bit and she coughed, forcing the food to stay down. Naan took out the bottle of brandy from the sack and started to uncork the bottle.
-Naan in Tusken- "Why do you wear that mask?"
Naan had not forgotten about her own wardrobe, she was just curious as to why an Outsider would wear such a thing everywhere. As far as she was aware Outsiders did not follow the same rules of covering skin as Tuskens did so it seemed odd to her.

-Mary It is a trophy, & it sees much better than I can. Want to try it?
Mary quickly locked the mask into safe mode, with only the various vision enhancement options left unlocked. With that done, Mary held out the mask to Naan.

Naan took the mask with her clean hand and held it up towards the lights in the ceiling, trying to look through the eyes of Mary's mask. She saw the HUD light up and tilted her head. She looked Mary as she swallowed the last bit of food in her mouth.
-Naan in Tusken- "Is it okay if I try it on?"
Naan seemed to get excited when Mary nodded her head, and the Tusken girl held part of the bottom of her mask forward to slide Mary's mask under her own. For a moment the mask didn't seem to want to go through the small opening close to Naan's neck, but Naan adjusted her mask with her food covered, gloved hand and the mask slid into the girl's mask. Naan's eyes lit up as she saw the HUD more closely. She put the mask onto her face, but the excitement was short lived. The mask hissed for a split second before it anchored itself to the small girl's face. Naan fell backward out of her chair and for a moment seemed to struggle before getting the mask off and pulling it back from under her mask. She got back up and sat back down in her chair, setting the mask on the table. She went back to uncorking the bottle of brandy she had taken from the cantina earlier.
-Naan in Tusken- "I don't like it...."
Naan finally got the cork unstuck. She slid the neck of the bottle under her mask and tilted her whole body back to get a sip of the brandy. The girl coughed for several moments after swallowing before licking her lips audibly and holding the bottle out to Mary.
-Naan in Tusken- "Want some? This liquid is really tasty."

Having finished her chunk of meat, Mary replaced the mask. It didn't take long to unlock it again, with the previously hidden icons & displays swimming back into view like holograms projected in a wave before her. She did a mental double take at Naan's statement though. Taking the offered bottle, Mary was easily able to tell that it was alcohol of some type. She had figured that Naan was drinking as a cultural thing, but now she wasn't sure. The best way however was to test it. She had to phrase her question so that it didn't sound like an accusation though.
-Mary Do you know what this is?

Naan began to kick her feet back and forth in her chair. Naan thought over Mary's question for a minute before answering. Naan got the feeling that she was not supposed to have the liquid, but she also got the feeling that Mary did not know she was not supposed to have it. Her child instincts took over and she tried her best to half-lie her way through the question.
-Naan in Tusken- "Uhm...It's like spicy water...I got it at the cantina, remember?"
Naan held her hand back out to take back the bottle. To any adult her lack of what was actually in the bottle would be painfully obvious. Still, she liked the brandy, even if she did not know what it was, and very much wanted more.
-Naan in Tusken- "If you don't want any, can I have the bottle back?"

Now it was obvious the child didn't know what alcohol was. The answer to what to do was simple enough. There was a liqueur cabinet in the Kitchen. Mary wasn't really sure why, but it had been part of the supplies loaded up. Opening it up, Mary discovered that it was actually fairly well stocked. Placing the bottle of brandy in with the rest, Mary keyed the lock to her fingerprint.
-Mary You are too young to drink that. It will poison you.

Naan slumped her shoulders and huffed a bit, but did not fight Mary on her decision to take the brandy away from her. She was still disappointed, and it showed in her voice, but she was a guest on Mary's ship, so her word was basically law. Besides, the young Tusken trusted Mary enough to believe her when she said it would poison her, though she found it hard to believe such a tasty beverage could be poisonous.
-Naan in Tusken- "Okay....."
Naan took another bite out of her Dewback jerky and went back to chewing in silence. The silence remained for all of two minutes before Naan perked back up again and started talking once more.
-Naan in Tusken- "So when do we land? I've never been in a real Outsider Fort before."

Another glance showed the fires making good headway into burning down.
-Mary Once the fires go out, maybe an hour or two.
Mary was nearly finished with her chunk of meat when a notice popped up on her HUD that the pieces of the racks were ready.
-Mary If you are finished eating, I could use some help putting some things together.

Naan was in the middle of shoving more of the spiced up hubba preserves under her mask and into her mouth when Mary asked her to aid her with the speeder racks. Naan nodded her head and stuffed what was left on her hand into her mouth and struggled to chew. There was a loud gulp as Naan swallowed a large amount of the chunky preserves whole. She quickly put the lid back onto the jar, putting both her jerky and the preserves jar back in her sack. She spoke with what still sounded like half a mouthful of preserves, making Mary's translation tough, but not impossible.
-Naan in Tusken- "Sure. Let me go put my food back in my room, and I'll meet you back there!"
The excited Naan hopped from her chair, and slung the bag over her back, running to her room to stow away her food sack. She took a moment to clean the sticky residue from her glove and then started the run back, once again meeting Mary about halfway. Naan seemed impressed by Mary's speed. Outsiders were often depicted as lazy, slow, bumbling morons by Tuskens. But so far Mary had proved the stereotype wrong.
-Naan in Tusken- "You move really fast for an Outsider."
