The sickly blue locked with the emerald truth, and the impossibly twisted arms drew themselves in, pulling Morgan with her. It felt like the only way to tell, the only way to test herself and the other during this one moment.
Their faces drew nearer.. Their lips met.
And everything came flooding in.
Every moment, every lifetime from the planet to the collective, broke upon the girl's mind in the instant of connection...
A thousand worlds, burning. A trillion lifeforms, writhing. Machines warping, souls twisting, a purpose so true and so pure, yet so wrong...
She saw herself for who she was intended to be.
And she was disgusted with what she saw.
She tried to pull away. Physically, she was still in the arms of the young child.
Mentally, the ties were severing, as the Guardian screamed...

*Before Morgan knew what was happening, she felt herself pulled in. Her immediate reaction was to gasp, fearing the worst as she resisted in vain, unable to notice the lack of danger sense. And then their lips met and her eyes widened; what kind of sick joke was this?! The Guardian was going to kiss her before killing her?!
But then she felt the link established within her, the transfer of memories, the realization, the disgust... the inner turmoil.
Morgan pulled away, looking at the girl in shock. Had it worked?! It was... an unconventional method, but if it worked, who was she to argue?!* "Mommy!" *she called, and the planet reacted, reaching out to the girl's troubled soul, lending Her strength to the separation. She had all the tools she needed to break free now...*
----
*... and then it changed. The copy's eyes turned a fiercer blue and its voice... was different. It attacked Morgan, and Mina gasped, starting; right, she was unable to help without a weapon. The bag was too close too... Wait, now Morgan was fighting back and she too sounded different! But this voice sounded more natural, and it seemed to come from everywhere, not just Morgan's mouth; whoever it was, they referred to Morgan as their "daughter." What was happening?!
They continued to grapple and exchange words until the girl's voice spoke again. In response, Morgan's own voice returned, continuing to plead with the girl to "let go" of something. The next instant, Mina was even more shocked. Did Morgan just kiss herself? When they released, Morgan called out for "Mommy"; the voice that had spoken through her? Were they both possessed by some kind of spirit?
If something was happening, Mina couldn't tell. All she knew was that there were two of her sister, they were fighting, they were speaking in different voices... and kissing. None of that was normal.*

The Seed drifting in the Osarian system.
The ruins of Tauve on Algara II, home to a mass infestation of the pathogen.
The Interrogator, just a few systems away.
The forgotten vestiges of the Yavin IV assault force.
Miros, lording over his stolen planet.
The Guardian, screaming from her jungle.
The Harbinger.
The grand plan.
Their ultimate creation.
She could feel them all.
She could feel them all, slipping away.
Her family, cut off.
The kiss had shown her the truth. And now, surrounded by this jungle filled with life, she was becoming alone.
Desperately, she pushed Morgan away, turning and running wordlessly. This was too much for her to take. She ran, trying to escape, but from what she did not know.

*All seemed to be proceeding to plan, as the world lent her strength to cutting off the girl's connection from the Collective, from the hivemind that would force her to commit atrocities in the name of "purification." In the end, it seemed to work, as the presence of the Guardian faded, and soon it was only that of the girl.
And then she ran.
Gasping as she was pushed away, Morgan reacted immediately, pushing herself up to her feet and darting after the girl, even as her Mother's influence receded at last. Morgan could feel the girl's sense of being overwhelmed... the loneliness...
Morgan pushed herself, building on her connection with the world and her familiarity with its terrain to gain on her. When she had sufficiently closed the gap, she dove forward, grabbing her around the waist, attempting to hold her back.* "Stop!" *she cried out, the girl's desperation creeping into her own voice.* "Don't run! Don't be afraid... I'm here for you!"

The tackle brought her down, rolling so her back was on the ground. This was so much, yet so comparatively little, for her to absorb. The isolation, the solitude in her mind, it was frightening and it was devastating. There was so much to process in that there was nothing to help her out. For once, her mind was on its own.
"What AM I??"

*The dive had worked, though Morgan hadn't quite intended for it to go to the ground. Morgan sat up on her knees, prepared in case she'd take off again, but instead all she did was lay there. She remained in fear and confusion, trying to process... everything, it seemed. Morgan supposed she could understand, but then the girl asked who she was...
She hesitated, then spoke,* "Whatever you want to be. Your own person. Your own life." *She paused again, then asked,* "Do you have a name?"

She shook her head.
"We don't... They don't... We..."
She looked confused, unsure of her new separatist terminology.
"There are no names. Only titles and strengths. I was the Light.."

*She stumbled over her words for a moment, seeming to struggle with the concept of identities still. Understandable, though Morgan hoped for her sake she could accept it much sooner. Apparently, none of the Echoes had names... and that would explain Rogue's name. A literal rogue... And this girl was their "light," as she and the Guardian had both said before?
Morgan grinned.* "Then your name's Light!" *she declared.* "You're Light, and I'm Morgan!"

She blinked.
"My name is .. Light?"
She turned slightly, hiding her face from the girl.
"I don't... I'm.. We kissed."
Her mind was making random connections now, trying to recover from the sudden break from the collective. Oddly enough, that was what she was focusing on now.

*Morgan nodded to reaffirm the girl's name as Light, though briefly wondered if she accepted such a name. She didn't seem to protest, instead looking away, stammering, bringing up the fact that they kissed again. Right... that had happened. And Morgan still didn't understand why. It had apparently worked to separate Light from the Collective, but... how?*
"We did," *Morgan confirmed slowly. Then, tilting her head, she asked,* "What did that do?"

"It was a new connection."
Her cheeks started to turn red, the first evidence of any non-blue colour upon her features.
"It was a connection with.. not a collective, but... a one."
Her eyes darted away...
"It was.. liberating. It was... It was... nice."

*A new connection... with a one... Morgan was still recovering her breath, swiping her forearm across her forehead. It was... "nice"? Yeah, she supposed it had been... Unexpected, certainly. Nice? ... most definitely.
She looked around, her emerald eyes widening at the blue jungle in the distance. Gasping, she clambered to her feet.* "Light!" *she cried out.* "The jungle, it's still corrupted!" *She turned to look her counterpart in the eye.* "Please turn it back! We can't leave it like this!"

She stood up, her legs a bit shaky, her eyes lingering on the dark spot on Morgan's neck. A smile crossed her face before Morgan exclaimed about the jungle's condition.
That was right. In the moment, she had forgotten herself, but now she needed to fix what she had done. Without a word, she walked over to where the blue started and knelt down, placing her palms on the ground. Slowly, the colour removed itself from the ground, and as it did so her form was surrounded by a shimmering blue haze.
There was a sudden flash of blinding light. When it cleared, the jungle was back to its verdant state, and Light was standing, her arms outstretched. The colour settled around her, resolving itself into a shimmering blue dress laid over a deeper blue outfit underneath. She smiled again.
"I figured this was the best way to repurpose it... Anything else would have been dangerous. What do you think?"

*Morgan watched Light as she set out to resolve the issue, curious to see her methods. As it turned out, it was simpler than she expected: Light seemed to be able to just siphon the Corruption back into her, which also caused her to glow as she did so. That was neat, she supposed—
Whoa! Where did that dress come from?! Did she... was that made of— It was! A dress made out of Corruption?! Morgan wasn't sure if that was safe... but then, Light and herself had... and Morgan was fine... And it was a pretty outfit, but still Morgan couldn't help but wonder if there was any risk to wearing it around... well, "uncorrupted" company. She tentatively reached forward to touch it...*
"Is it safe?"
*The voice didn't come from Morgan. She gasped and turned, finding Mina standing there, their backpack in one hand and Morgan's whip in the other. Beside her dutifully stood Rush, Lokay the tailring perched on his shoulders, Terror the rathtar lingering behind them. Mina seemed distraught and confused. Had she witnessed everything that had happened?! Morgan hoped not, and even turned a little red.*
"Y-yes Mina," *she stammered.* "I-it's all good! Light's good now! She's on our side, and she's gonna come home with us!" *Morgan looked between her and Light, then spoke to the latter.* "Light, this is my little sister Mina! And that's Rush, he's from Haruun Kal too! And Lokay, my tailring, and Terror, my rathtar! I rescued him from Garqi!"
*Rush took a few steps forward, focused very curiously on the copy of Morgan that stood before them. He didn't seem too trustworthy, considering her composition contained Corruption, but the fact that she was also comprised of Morgan's own DNA was... intriguing, to say the least...*

"Yes, it's safe. It's nice to meet you."
She smiled, the haze of both her creation and their intimacy wearing off now. She, unlike Morgan, had no reservations about this young child having seen anything. Although, to be fair, she didn't realize that she was supposed to, since she had never really learned of any social cues or physical shame while living on Haruun Kal.
Haruun Kal.
That was when she remembered that she had crashed here. Regardless of her physical needs, or rather her lack of most of them, she did find a bit of shelter to be a comfort.
"We.. I suppose I should get to work building a place to stay out here, though."
She turned, looking around the jungle. She hadn't really planned on this; after all, she had come here.. for what? To find something? To heal the.. to Corrupt the world? She didn't know anymore.

*Rush continued to examine the strange girl, unsure if he should be friendly or threatening toward her, though he nevertheless reached out with his tongue to take her scent of his own accord.* "Rush!" *Morgan admonished, worried he was about to attack her, but, seeing as he was only licking her, she sighed and put her arm around his neck.* "You gotta let other people let you take your scent, silly..." *The akk, meanwhile, was still processing this sensation. Light's scent was unique, yet identical to Morgan's.
Eventually, he seemingly gave up, turning and taking a few steps away before once again facing them and sitting down on his haunches. All the while, Lokay kept turning his long neck in an attempt to keep the entire party in his sights, he too curiously focused on Light.
Morgan only smiled at them, some uncertainties still in her mind, before Light suddenly announced her intention to build a place for them to stay. Morgan blinked, and then giggled, shaking her head and replying,* "No, silly! We already have a place to stay! It's a Jedi building, where lots of people stay and live and train! My family lives there too." *After a pause, she added as an aside,* "I guess they're your family too..." *Looking back up, she continued,* "But yeah, hop on Rush, and we'll head back there!"
*She paused again, looking first at Light, then at herself and Mina, noticing their current state of dress... or lack thereof. Morgan extended a hand, asking Mina for their bag. The younger, still-wide-eyed girl handed it over and Morgan rummaged inside. Morgan's dress... was not here, whereas Mina's clothes were. Right... Morgan had left hers back at the lake. If only there wasn't a dress code, this wouldn't be a problem...
Sighing, she declared,* "We'll have to make a quick stop and pick up my dress, I left it back at a lake we were at. If it's not there..." *She grinned.* "Well, I guess I'll have no choice but to go back naked. Nothing they can do about it if I have no choice!" *She giggled, then handed Mina's clothes to her. The girl quickly pulled them on as Morgan prepared Rush for travel, assuring him that all was well. She then climbed up onto the akk, Mina climbing up in front of her, and Morgan beckoned Light toward her.* "C'mon up!"

=Secret Paramilitary Corporation 'Animus' galactic Headquarters=
*thu-thump thu-thump thu-thump*
as i squinted my eyes open to take in light around and try to take in what i can. first thing i notice was that my arms and legs were restrained. There was a pressure on my ears that seemed like pods and visor over my eyes playing a scene of some hero i seemed to recognize but at the same time seemed totally foreign. Trying to gaze past the visor i saw i was in some kind of lab… and for the moment i was alone
The last thing the i noticed was a power stemming from the core of my being. The well spring seemed infinitely deep and I thought if i could focus the energy to specific points, i could break out of my bonds.
But i didn’t know how to tap that energy.
So i took in deep, meditative breaths. each breath in was a bucket carried down to the well to draw… each breath out pushed the draw to the four points to well the energy up there, but not to release it. when i felt that the energy was enough that at least one limb could be freed with 70% pooled in my wrists and 30% at my ankles… i took one more deep breath in and gave a labored shout
“HAAAAAAAAaaaaa”
the energy coursed from the wells outward toward my restraints lightly singing my flesh where the energy coursed from… and though they resisted, when i pulled my arms up toward my chest i felt the restraints give and break causing a shrieking alarm to go off. the noise only got worse as i tried to remove my EarPods as the noise not only increased, but hundreds of new sounds flooded into my mind
“THE PRISONER HAS ESCAPED!”
“LOCK DOWN THE EAST WING”
“GET THE KRIFFIN’ ALARMS OFF!”
“SECURE THE CRYSTAL!”
“STRIKE TEAMS, A, B, D INTERCEPT, C, U, I, P, SECURE THE EXITS. HE CAN’T GET OUT.”
Part of me was scared trying to silence these voices… if i could hear them… could they hear me? another voice pulled me out of my analytical paralysis. the voice was young like a newborn’s cry… yet was able to jump in origin from place to place like a ventriloquist's voice showing the essentials including: a pack, a collection of logs on data disk, a vial of murky liquid, and a Crystal, i was led to the door where for the first time the voice spoke
<<Lis’n to the noiz uz te noise to chooz yer pah.>>
Taking a deep breath, i slid out of the room through the main door and turned right. i kept a pod in my ear to keep me balanced, but the other ear was open to try and understand what the voice was telling me. from behind me i could hear a squad approaching. moving as swiftly as i could i rounded the left corner and hid behind a stack of boxes until the group passed.
<<lis’n to Noiz.>>
i took the other pod out of my ear and listened to the hallways… I was close enough that i could hear two overlapping groups of noises… one from the hallway to my left (the group that i just squeaked by) and one closing in on my 6. I pushed everything i could muster into my feet to fly down the hallway and out of sight before i was captured without my own sound being heard. then i turned left… then right… forward…. left. right… right….
it seemed like an endless corridor of intersections until i came across a Bay of windows overlooking the tarmac with two shuttles ready to fly. one as bulkier… definitely better in fight, though probably the slower of the two. the other one was sleek. probably wouldn’t have the firepower to fight back instead having the speed to outrun everything.
‘voice… how will we get off this world… i do not know how to fly these shuttles… and besides the guards will likely lock the shuttles down to prevent our escape.’
<<twust me and we will suh’i’e… if i am cose… i can fwy>>
I didn’t know what the voice meant but i didn’t have any time as the sound of guards approaching spurred my feet forward toward one last intersection. this time all of the options were covered, with two squads being in visual range. needing n escape i happened my eyes upon a fire escape door. pushing through i sped down the stairs and onto the tarmac.
*pit pitpitpitpit*
condition outside was sky icing. balls of hail whizzing by. taking another look i saw that the Bulkier of the shuttles was the one farther off and had a boarding ramp down, while the sleeker was closer… but was sealed from entry. Deciding to take my chances with whomever was already on the shuttle i made a mad dash trying to avoid get to the bulkier ship dodging hail as if it were stun rays from soldier’s rifles.
…I made it three quarters of the way to the sleeker shuttle before a rouge piece of ice struck me knocking me off my feet and out cold.
———————————————
it did not take Much to sneak onto the base. few engineered commissions and the old trooper was back in business. fetching the youngling was merely a task of taking down a big enough crate to drop the body in while the guards searched for their precious asset. then once the ruckus died down and the crate was aboard, the old trooper deposited the boy in the pilot’s bed, and with liberty rummaged through the pack, taking the vial and the disks to the lab for testing while leaving the crystal to cast a healing aura over the boy. once everything was squared away it was merely a matter of calling in.
::Tower this is Delica Del Dragón, requesting permission to launch::
::negative D3, we need to keep the base on lockdown until ….a bomb threat has been cleared, please lower cargo ramp so we can inspect to make sure the bomb isn’t stored in any new cargo you took aboard::
::Tower, i would love to comply, but i have sensitive material marked for coruscant. so unless you want to face down the entire jedi council and tell them that you compromise the cargo trying to find a singular firecracker…::
::Confirmed D3, you are clear for takeoff… safe travels::
…suckers. with a smug expression the old trooper broke atmosphere and jumped to warp,… trying to think of a place he could take his new passenger.

*The notion of a family seemed to confuse Light, judging by her gesture before climbing up onto Rush. Morgan turned to look over her shoulder at her as Light asked if she had that. Oh, it wasn't family itself, it was the fact that she now had one. Morgan beamed at her and nodded, declaring,* "Totally! Me and Mina, and there's a lot more too! A mom and a daddy, and brother and two more sisters! And an uncle and three aunts and a cousin... Our family's big!" *She giggled and faced forward in order to steer Rush away from the site of their battle and meeting, as Lokay settled himself in Mina's lap.* "And we're gonna go meet them! Hang on! Let's go!" *Rush then bounded his way back into the jungle, Terror tumbling along behind them. They took a brief detour where they found that Morgan's dress was indeed still laying there waiting for her. Morgan hopped off, slipped it on, then returned to Rush, and the journey towards the base continued...*

The freighter skimmed over the treetops as she scanned for an appropriate landing site. Much as she had expected, this was going to be a case of settling for the best option available. A small clearing -- almost too small, in fact -- slid into view before her, and she decided to take it. As her craft slowed to a gentle hover over the opening, she stretched out with her senses and reached into the Force, gently urging the less cautious native fauna away from her landing site. She had no desire to cause any unnecessary pain here.
Slowly, the ship lowered itself, before finally coming to rest on the jungle floor. She stood from her seat at the helm and allowed herself a moment to stretch her muscles from the journey.. but only just a moment. After that, she turned and walked back towards the main hold. There, she donned her traveling cloak and gathered up a select variety of items to place in the pouch on her utility belt. She smiled as she felt its familiar weight; there was a comfort in knowing that her defense was always available. After making sure she was fully stocked, she walked towards the exit ramp and disembarked from her vessel.
She walked outside and was practically struck in the face by the wave of humidity. Her lips turned upward in a momentary sneer; with her skills, this wouldn't be a problem in the slightest, but she was annoyed at the need to exert that much more effort in her quest. She shrugged, the moment passed, and her face was set back in the stoic expression she wore so well. As she set foot on this new world, she gestured behind herself and allowed a small exertion through the Force; the ramp retracted and sealed itself behind her, securing her ship once more.
Where her previous indulgences had been fleeting, this time she took her time to survey the environment around her. A brief moment of Force use was all it took to push the humidity back from her person, and a minor thought in the back of her mind was enough to continue keeping it at bay. Nodding to herself, she set off into the jungle, allowing her path to be guided by the steady tide of the Force.
