Serena smiled and stretched out her arms as she looked out across the lake where Morgan was pointing. It was going to be a race then, and that was something she was sure she could win. She had won quite a few races with the other children back in the day. It was something she took pride in, though her father often told her to be humble in victory. But back to the task at hand. She could probably easily handle swimming full speed to the other side and back twice, and if Morgan was a frequent swimmer as well, then so could she.
She grinned."That works. There and back two times. Ready to go?"

*There and back twice, Morgan got it. She scanned the goal as though mentally calculating her target and how much effort she would need to give, then nodded when asked if she was ready to go.* Yeah, you?

Serena grinned and nodded."You bet!"She ran to the edge of the lake, beckoning Morgan to follow and she made sure they were standing side by side. This was to make sure they could both get a running start. It was then that Serena noticed that she had quite the height advantage over Morgan. She didn't exactly tower over the other girl, but it was definitely a marked difference. That didn't mean she would hold back of course...
"On the count of three, OK? One...two...THREE!"As soon as she hit three, Serena dashed forwards and lunged into the water, swimming for the other side. She wasn't swimming as fast as she normally did, wanting to conserve her energy for the second lap. It wasn't too long before she had reached the other side of the lake, and once she did, she turned around and went back for the starting point, still making sure to conserve some energy in case she needed it for a final sprint to the finish.

*When Serena beckoned Morgan back to the shore, she follwed and stood at her side, in a ready stance. Morgan glanced up at her while they were side-by-side to more accurately gauge their size difference, and it still wasn't good; she thought she was short compared to the average child her age.
Her best and only hope was to just ignore it and not pay attention to Serena at all, but to her own prowess; she could worry about Serena's position after the race was over. She waited for the countdown, and on three, Morgan ran and dove forward, putting her all into it. She thought about using the Force to her advantage briefly, wondering if Serena had any abilities like that, but she put it out of her mind; that would be cheating.
But Morgan was using an ability that aided her prowess, just one she was so accustomed to that she hardly noticed, and in fact wasn't one she could perform at will, but occurred on its own: When in the jungle and encompassed in the air of the world itself, her endurance was much enhanced as she was able to trade energy with the world itself. So unlike Serena, she didn't have to conserve energy for a potential final push; she could swim at full strength and not worry about wearing out quickly.
She reached the end of the first lap and started her second push to the edge of the lake. She started to wonder if she should check Serena's position, but she reminded herself that that would only distract her, so she just continued, pushing herself. She reached the edge and flipped over and sprinted to the end. When she reached shallow-enough water that she could stand, she pushed herself to her feet and ran ashore, and turned around to see where Serena was, panting just a little. Had she won, or had she lost?*

Serena wasn't paying attention to where Morgan was, merely focused on getting to the finish as fast as possible. As she started the second lap, she started to push herself a little more. She swam almost every day, and thus had greater endurance in the water than most. It was because of the constant practice that she didn't feel that fatigued going into the second lap, and with that in mind, she started to swim harder now. She reached the other side of the lake much faster this time, and put everything she had into the stretch run, swimming as fast as she possibly could until she reached the shore.
She walked towards the shoreline once she had reached shallower water, looking over to see Morgan doing the same. While Serena was panting quite heavily, Morgan didn't seem nearly as winded, which was odd. Morgan was smaller and even if she was just as good as Serena, her height advantage should have carried the day. And yet Morgan had probably reached at the same time, if not sooner.
She frowned a little. That race had been too close to call, and yet one girl was winded and the other wasn't."That was...close...how 'come...you're not breathing hard?"

*Wow. It seemed Serena had made it at almost the same time as Morgan, but Morgan couldn't tell who got there first. Of course, the competitor inside wanted to say it was her, but she was willing to just call it really close. But Serena seemed to care more about why Morgan wasn't breathing hard, and now Morgan was reminded of her ability. And come to think of it, Serena was breathing much more heavily than Morgan was. Morgan grimaced.* Oh. I forgot, I don't get tired very fast in the jungle. I guess that doesn't really make it fair... *Wait. Would Serena ask why she didn't get tired in the jungle? Probably. Why wouldn't she? Was it the time? Morgan looked thoughtful for a moment, as her breathing started to return to normal, then nodded to herself.* It's because I... me and the planet, well we... have a special connection. *Huh. That was an easier simplification than she thought would've been. Maybe it was because she talked about it often, she was getting better and better at explaining it all more simply? Yeah, that made sense, though Morgan was fully prepared to explain everything else, if Serena asked.*

So Morgan didn't get easily tired while she was in the jungle, which didn't make a lot of sense to Serena. However, Morgan quickly explained that she had a special connection to the planet, which Serena had never heard of before."You're...connected? To the planet? Her head tilted to the side a little as her breathing returned to normal."I've never heard of that before..."Studying Morgan closely, Serena didn't see any hint of deceit on the other girl's face, but she couldn't help but be a bit suspicious. Yet she was also very curious about it at the same time. There had to be an explanation for it."How did you get connected to the planet?"

*Serena seemed very confused at Morgan's answer, stating that she'd never heard of that before. Well, Morgan supposed it was a pretty rare occurrence, so that wasn't too surprising... Wait, was that suspicion Morgan sensed? Did Serena think she cheated in the race?! Morgan had to clear this up, and quickly; that meant that, indeed, now was the time to tell Serena all about herself.* Well, you see... *Morgan told Serena about her first journey to Felucia, stepping onto the surface and feeling the connection to the world, about how she and Michelle and Annabelle fell from the cliff from a broken chunk of rock, how they made their journey through the jungle and Morgan learned about her "adoption" by the planet, and how it made Morgan stronger on the world of Felucia and enhanced her abilities, such as with her endurance levels and calming the creatures of the world. Morgan then brought attention to her scars, which Serena had to have noticed by now, and explained their story too, about how her body was in suspension while her mother brought her spirit to her realm, where Morgan learned even more about the planet, and gained even more knowledge and abilities. By the time she was finished, she was sitting on the ground, looking up at Serena curiously and a little nervously.* ... so... do you understand now? *And if she didn't... well, Morgan would completely understand why.*

Serena listened as Morgan told the tale of how her connection with Felucia came to be, and it was quite the tale indeed. Some of the stories her father had told her about the universe seemed quite far fetched but this one really took the cake, so to speak. And yet, it would explain why Morgan seemed so at ease out here, and why she was so good with animals. It was strange, but Serena was inclined to believe Morgan...
She sat down next to Morgan and smiled as she finished her tale."I think I do now...that's really amazing, Morgan."

*Morgan smiled back at Serena, glad she understood and thought it was amazing. Then she giggled and leaned against her, resting her head against her shoulder. They had barely gotten to know each other yet, but Morgan was already thankful to have someone her age who understood her story and thought it was neat. And Morgan, by nature, was an affectionate child, but if Serena objected, Morgan would sit up.* I'm glad you do. And I didn't mean to cheat in the race, I forgot all about it, really. *She kind of got the feeling Serena wouldn't mind... kind of. And Morgan didn't necessarily think it was completely cheating; she was merely gifted the ability, and didn't even realize it for a little while. So was it her fault? No... could she control it? Maybe? Now she was curious about that, but she could worry about that later; besides why would she want to? Just for silly little competitions? No, she didn't need to control it, even if she was curious about it.*

Serena smiled and put her arm around Morgan's shoulders, not really minding the little hug since Morgan was her friend. Now that the heat of the race had worn off, she wasn't really mad about Morgan technically cheating, though she did make a mental note to be careful in challenging Morgan to anything else in the future.
She giggled."It's OK. That just means I'll have to train extra hard to be able to keep up with you!"Though she wasn't angry, Serena would remember this race with Morgan and train hard to see if she could surpass her. It wasn't that she thought she was inferior, but she did have a little competitive streak and now she had a goal to work towards.

*Morgan smiled when Serena put an arm around her, so Morgan wrapped both her arms around Serena in return. Then when Serena said it only meant she had to train harder, Morgan giggled. That was a good outlook to have; it meant she wasn't mad at her! And that was always good. Morgan released Serena and set her palms on the ground behind her, sitting silent for a moment. Then, curious as to other potential habits Serena may have, Morgan looked sideways at her.* You wanna swim some more, or you wanna do something else?

Serena giggled as Morgan hugged her, and she returned the gesture in turn. She was very much looking forward to seeing if she could train herself to match Morgan's endurance in the jungle, but more than that, she was glad to have made a friend.
She giggled."Let's swim some more!"Without waiting for Morgan's answer, Serena jumped up and ran into the water.

*Swimming some more was okay with Morgan, and she grinned and stood immediately after Serena was on her feet and running towards the lake. But Morgan waited a moment, focusing on the water. She wanted to make a big wave, so she built up the Force within herself, swinging her arms back and forth in preparation. Then she ran and jumped forward, pulling her knees up to her chest and hugging them. When she landed in the water, she released a small wave of the Force, causing the water to ripple outward in all directions, creating a moderate-sized wave and a large splash. She then surfaced and giggled, paddling in place as she looked around for Serena.*

Serena squealed and quickly brought her arms up to shield her face from the splash of water created when Morgan jumped in, and when it passed, she giggled. That was a declaration of a water war if she had ever seen one, and she had seen quite a few back home. No matter what happened or what the activity of the day was, everything always turned into a splash fight. She was happy to see that was also the case here.
She grinned at Morgan."Oh you are so going down!"Laughing, she lunged towards Morgan, furiously splashing water as she went. Best defense was a good offense, after all. At least that's what Marc told her.

*Uh oh. Serena had decided to take Morgan's splash as an opening to a water war, with a declaration that Morgan was "going down." Now this would be interesting: A seasoned opponent, unlike Terra. With Terra, it was mostly just a fun little activity together, though Terra had managed to figure out a few tricks fairly quickly. Serena sounded like she had far more experience with others in the water, and with water wars. It was time to learn her opponent...
Serena started with a flurry of attacks as she lunged forward, so Morgan went underwater. After a moment of building up energy, she sprang up, sending another wave at Serena, both as a shield and as an attack. She then swam backward to keep some distance, debating if her "signature attack" she used on Terra would be anywhere near as effective on Serena. Probably not... but if it came to it, Morgan would use it if she had to.*

Serena was watching for another Force assisted attack, and it came quickly in the form of another wave of water. She dove under the water, deciding now was the time to break out the big guns, so to speak. She focused on the water and gathered the Force around her, tracking Morgan's movements from underneath the surface. Moving forwards, Serena sprang up, using a very similar wave attack to Morgan's, but there was more. As soon as the wave was launched, Serena dove under the water again and swam towards Morgan, aiming to close the distance. Once she was close, she sprang up again, this time without the aid of the Force, and sent several close range splashes at her opponent.

*Serena was retaliating with a wave of her own, almost just like the one Morgan had just used. Morgan managed to bob under the water and back up, bringing a small wave with her to help lessen the assault as she shielded her face with her hands against the rest of the water that made it. But when it was gone, Serena was also out of view. Uh oh, she was underwater; was this how Terra felt during their first water war? Morgan braced herself by touching her fists and elbows together in front of her, just when Serena sprang out of nowhere! Her attacks were rapid and Morgan had to turn her head, then deciding she had no choice: Her "signature attack" had to be used. So she lunged forward, diving for Serena, in an attempt to latch onto her and, as she was much closer in size to Morgan than Terra was, tackle her.*

Serena thought for a moment that she had gained the upper hand, but that thought was short lived as Morgan lunged forwards. She had no time to get out of the way or try another big splash attack, and was tackled by Morgan. She fell backwards into the water, but she had the presence of mind to wrap her arms around Morgan to pull her down as she fell. Morgan had caught her by surprise, but this was far from over. Instead of releasing Morgan, Serena tightened her grip and pulled her back up above the water, then attempted to drag her back to the shore, where she could pin her down without risking drowning her.

*It had worked... sorta. Serena had been successfully tackled, but now she was latching back onto Morgan and trying to pull her to shore. Morgan's first thought was to try to resist, but Serena was larger than her, and if not as strong, then at least relatively more strong. There was another option, one Morgan hadn't gotten to try on Terra: Tickle her. So Morgan did, hoping Serena was ticklish. If it worked and Serena's grip loosened enough, Morgan would pull herself free. If not, Morgan would just have to resist to the best of her ability and hope she got away from Serena. And if not... Well, Morgan would have to turn the tides on the shore then. Somehow.*
