*The sharp pain made her wince as she sensed her brother's strain on his injury and she turned around, hand going to her own chest. She was torn between going to Jake's side or finding out why the ground suddenly became dirt, but Terra was approaching her, informing her that Jake said he couldn't play, asking if they wanted to continue just the two of them or do something else instead. Morgan, still frowning, lowered her hand and looked over the dirt ground again.* ... I wanna know why the grass stopped. *She turned and walked back toward her things, putting them back on and letting Lokay back up on her shoulder. Something didn't seem right at all, and she wanted to find out what it was. She waited for Jake and Terra, hoping Jake was at least well enough to follow them—and run if he had to—then started to venture further out onto the hardened dirt. She did feel bad about Jake straining his injury, and if something was wrong she would defend him, hopefully along with Terra, but she really wanted to know what was going on here...*

*Jake was glad that Terra didn't seem to mind that they'd have to end the game because of him. He nodded and stood up, putting a hand against his bandage. It still stung pretty badly, but he'd be okay. If something like that happened again, though, he'd have to take a trip back to the healer pretty quickly. He gathered up his things, his chest slowly starting to hurt less, but wow, that hurt a lot. More than it did when he got it! But he'd be okay... he'd just have to make sure not to exert himself. Which meant less fun, probably. Maybe he should just ask them to lead him home then let them continue; he didn't want to sacrifice their having fun just because he was debilitated. The only reason he didn't suggest that was because he knew Morgan wouldn't do that, so he followed Morgan onto the dirt, now also curious why there suddenly was no more grass...*

Terra turned her attention to the dirt, also finding it odd that there was suddenly no grass here. With no idea what was causing it, she had put her guard up as she followed Morgan to see if they could find the source. There had to be a reason why the grass didn't grow here after all, and she wondered if Morgan could use her connection to the planet to figure it out."Can you use your connection to Felucia to find out?"Looking over, she saw Jake following Morgan as well and hoped that his injury wouldn't hobble him too much if this ended up being dangerous, but she was confident that she could protect him if that was the case. Her training had probably progressed much farther than his or Morgan's so she could probably handle it. She just hoped it wasn't anything terribly dangerous, or this would be the third time she was facing a threat here on Felucia while in the nude...

*Her connection to Felucia, right, that would help. Morgan stopped, extending one foot slightly ahead of her and pressing it against the ground, reaching out with her senses through her contact to the surface. She sensed... no death, unless one counted the death of grass, but even that didn't seem anything less than natural. The soil was thick and hard, though, and not because of dryness... So what exactly had caused this valley to suddenly go from grass to thick dirt?
Consciousnesses, she could sense them now. But suddenly there was a tremor under her foot and she gasped softly; at the same time, she received a warning from Rush, of something incredibly large, bipedal, with large claws on its hands, a tail, and an "ugly" face. The tremors continued, growing larger each time as Morgan's eyes widened with realization as to just what sort of valley this was: A rancor valley.* Rancors! *She didn't hesitate to turn and run away from the scene; better than letting it show up and capture them. Last thing she wanted to be was a meal, and she hadn't attempted to successfully tame a rancor yet. Not that she ever really had the chance to. She dared a glance behind her as the rancor appeared in few view, its heavy footfalls causing the trees and fungi to shake with each step. It finally caught sight of them, unleashed a mighty roar, and made for them.
They made to make it to the ridge and get out of the valley, but would they be able to make it there in time before the rancor caught up? Short answer: No, they couldn't, so once again they were going to have to outrun it. Somehow. And Rush wouldn't be able to help much with this one—
And there was Rush himself, dashing out of the woods, running up to the rancor's foot, slashing it with a splayed shovel claw, and leaping back. The attack served as little more than a distraction for the rancor, but maybe that was all they needed. Morgan reached the ridge and deftly climbed back up, out of the valley, then made sure Lokay was still with her and the others were behind her before she started to back away out of the reach of any rancors that might live in the valley. Then she cried out to her pet.* Rush! Get out of there!

*Jake, too, had a bad feeling about all this, but of course he didn't share the same connection Morgan possessed in order to discern what was happening much more quickly. But then he felt the quake under his feet and his eyes widened as his mind formulated a new theory before Morgan confirmed it aloud: Rancors. As she turned to run, Jake did as well, not bothering to look back; that would only cost time and they needed to get away as soon as possible. He heard its roar, but still refused to look; it sounded far enough away that he could get up the ridge and out of the valley. His chest hurt once more, but adrenaline gave him the strength to bear and ignore it as he scrambled up the ridge, then looked around to make sure Morgan and Terra and Lokay were still with them. Good, that was everyone— Rush?! Jake gasped and turned, and sure enough, Rush was attempting to go toe-to-toe with the rancor. What was he doing?! Well, obviously he was trying to protect them, but he could get hurt, or worse! He sincerely hoped Rush got out of this one unscathed...*

The minute that Terra heard Morgan say rancors, she was already gearing up to start running, and run she did. Making sure that Morgan, and especially Jake were keeping up, she ran up and followed Morgan up out of the valley, using the Force to pull her bag to her as she ran. Once up the hill, she slung it back over her shoulders and continued to follow Morgan and Jake to what she hoped was safety. Turning back, she was in time to see Rush swipe at the huge beast, and she really hoped that he would make it out of this.
Breathing hard, she followed Morgan back into the thicker foliage of the jungle and turned to look at Jake. He was breathing hard like all of them but she was more concerned about his injury. He had already strained it once, and hopefully hadn't done so again..."Are you OK?"

*Terra was checking on Jake to make sure he was alright, and now that he was able to be aware of himself, he did notice that his chest really did hurt now. But until they were all safe and away from the danger zone, he didn't have time to think about it. Well, just enough to answer Terra anyway.* No, but Rush is in trouble! *He hissed and grasped his bandage suddenly, but kept an eye on the valley where Rush was drawing off the rancor's attention. Hopefully Rush would be fine... He was fast, and he just had to avoid the rancor's arms. Not that Jake knew whether or not a rancor could even bite through armor as thick and sturdy as Rush's...*

*Morgan only glanced at Terra and Jake as they made their brief exchange, watching as Rush took on the rancor. He slashed its foot again, in the same place as before, and now there was noticeable damaged to the area. The rancor made a noise of pain and swiped at Rush. Rush jumped out of the way, but was suddenly grabbed by the other hand.* RUSH! *The akk dog squirmed and tried to break free of the grip, but couldn't. It looked like the end for Rush, but when the rancor raised the akk to his jaws, Rush snapped forward, clamping his jaws down on the rancor's soft, vulnerable tongue. The rancor yelled in pain, releasing Rush instinctively, though Rush himself didn't let go as the rancor shook its head back and forth until Rush was flung off, taking a piece of the tongue with it. Rush hit the ground and rolled twice, coming up to his feet and spitting out the tongue defiantly. The rancor, now angry, tried to swipe at Rush again. He jumped away and then ran further into the valley, drawing the rancor off with him.
Morgan watched, in awe that Rush had managed to escape, but now dearly hoping he made it alive out of this one. She waited in silence for what felt like way too long, then suddenly, bursting from the brush and scrambling up the ridge was Rush, unscathed. He skidded to a stop and nuzzled against Morgan, who was only too happy to wrap her arms around him and cuddle him, glad he was safe. But there was something else needed to be done.* L-let's go back a bit! Far away from here! *Figuring they wouldn't argue the point, she set off running with Rush back up the river. They needed to vanish and leave no trace; the last thing they wanted was a rancor on their trail, and a desperate-enough rancor would try to follow even with the ridge blocking his path. But it wouldn't be able to easily follow them through the jungle, so it was their best coverage for now...*

Terra was amazed by what she saw with Rush taking on a rancor like that, and just when she thought the akk was doomed, he managed to escape and more importantly, drew the rancor away from them. And just when Terra thought that Rush might be lost, he sprang from the bushes, apparently unharmed. That had certainly been something...but now they needed to make sure they had lost the rancor. Without saying anything, she followed Morgan and Jake as they ran through the jungle, paying no heed to the direction they were taking...

*They ran and ran with all their effort; Morgan knew this was probably bad for Jake, but it would be better than being easy rancor bait. She would feel bad if he felt any worse after this, but at least he would be alive! Finally, they found a clearing in the jungle, far enough from the valley. Morgan nearly toppled to the ground, Lokay scrambling off her shoulder and gliding to the ground as Morgan fell on her hands and knees, shed her gear, then rolled over onto her back, breathing heavily and trying to catch her breath; normally she didn't lose her breath easily in the jungle, but she'd exerted herself just enough. Meanwhile, she extended her senses outward for any trace of the rancor... nothing. They were free for now. So she only laid on the ground, panting, though she started to regain her breath fairly quickly and her breaths became more relaxed. That... was way too close, but then, so was any encounter with a rancor.*

*Rush made it! He really made it! Jake was excited, but then Morgan said they needed to get as far away as they could. He didn't complain and turned to run, again ignoring his injury and tried to rely on the Force for aid. They continued to run, and Jake could feel his chest burn but he knew it was run and hurt himself, or stay and possibly cause worse harm to himself. Finally they found a place to stop, and Jake slowed to a stop and fell to his knees, catching his breath and feeling his bandage. Was that a slight hint of red underneath?* T-Terra? I... I think I need help again... *He breathlessly lowered his backpack and pulled it in front of him, removing the medkit and holding it out to Terra, wincing. He didn't want to make them stop and go back, but if things kept going like they had so far today, they may have been forced to do so. Or he could maybe just ride on Rush's back instead... that would hopefully be fine. But first he had to have his wound treated to... again...*

Terra nearly collapsed to her feet, gasping harshly from all the running they had just done, but it seemed that they had gotten away cleanly, much to her relief. She was really grateful to have Morgan there to use her connection to Felucia, or otherwise they'd have been caught unawares. Still, she didn't have long to rest as when she turned to Jake, she saw some red underneath the bandage. Taking the medkit, she nodded slowly."Need to...catch my...breath...one minute........OK."She knelt down beside Jake and very carefully removed the bandages from around it and saw that it had been reopened with all the running they had done. She sighed softly."It's OK. I can fix this...just hold still."She could clean and re-bandage the wound, but she had another idea as well. Serrin had taught her Force Healing a little while back and while it wasn't her specialty, she had practiced it enough to be able to handle smaller wounds, and her skill might be enough for this one. And if not, she still had the medkit.
Taking a deep breath, Terra placed her hand just above the wound and concentrated, gathering the Force around her and entering a healing trance. For several minutes, she was silent as she focused solely on the healing, and slowly, the wound began to stop bleeding and closed. She continued to pour her energy into healing the wound and finally, she managed to heal it completely, though it had taken quite an effort due to her relative lack of skill. Still, she had done it, and hopefully Jake would now be pain free."There...oh...I think I need to...rest for a few minutes."Terra lay down on her back and closed her eyes.

*Jake was able to wait for Terra to catch her breath a moment; he was still trying to catch his own still. Finally he was able to breathe just a little easier, then sat still as Terra removed his bandages and cleaned them. He hissed and endured it, but instead of bandage him again, she was placing her hand over his injury, and Jake could feel the Force and soothing flow into him. Woah, Terra could heal? Why hadn't they thought of that earlier? Well, that was okay; Jake felt much better now, other than the being out of breath. He smiled at Terra.* Th-thanks, Terra. I, I feel much better! *He then laid back on the ground, running a hand over his chest where the injury was, just glad it was restored and there was no more bandage. Then he went back to catching his breath...*

*Morgan looked over at Jake as he requested aid from Terra, but Terra instead seemed to heal him with the Force. Well, that was handy, now they wouldn't have to worry about Jake straining himself any further. Maybe Terra just forgot about it earlier and suddenly remembered it or something. But now that they were all safe and sound, Morgan just laid on the ground, still slightly out of breath.* I say we... we just rest here a bit... *She sighed and closed her eyes. When they were all rested, they could decide where to go next. Morgan didn't even realize she was falling asleep, which she did, sleeping peacefully and dreamlessly for some time. When she finally did awake, it was with a gasp and she didn't even know how long she'd been sleeping. She looked around at the others, looking slightly panicked.* H-how long was I asleep?

Terra had dozed off as well, tired from the running and from the healing, and she slowly woke when Morgan suddenly shot up and asked how long she had been asleep. It took a moment or two for her to register the question and suddenly, she too sat upright and looked around. How long had they been asleep for? What time was it now? And more importantly, where were they now? She didn't recognize this area of the jungle at all...
Stretching and yawning, she looked over at Morgan."I dunno...we must have been tired out..."She looked around the clearing again."Where are we, anyway?"

*Morgan frowned. Had they all fallen asleep? Well, that was no good... So now she didn't know what time it was... and now she was hungry. She sat up and pulled her bag toward her, removing some of the food from it and speaking as she did so.* I dunno, but I'm hungry. *She pulled a bag of jerky from her bag, opened it, took a few pieces, and chewed on one before holding the bag out to Terra.* Want some? It's bantha.

*Jake suddenly woke up to the sound of people talking. His eyes blinked open slowly, then he shot up, gasping. He'd fallen asleep?! That wasn't good! He looked around; Terra and Morgan were sitting up, Morgan eating some jerky. Lokay was curled up near them, looking around curiously. Rush must've been in the jungle again. He gulped softly, then spoke.* H-how long was I asleep? *He... actually was kind of touched if they'd waited patiently for him to rest, but also felt a little guilty if that was the case; he hadn't meant to slow them down! He grimaced and bit his lower lip, hoping they'd forgive him if that was the case...*

Terra nodded and took some jerky and ate it rather quickly, wondering if they should start heading back to the base to get a proper meal. But the jerky was good at least, and it would probably tide her over for a little while. When Jake asked how long he had been asleep, she smiled at him and shrugged."I dunno. We all fell asleep there for awhile."She giggled and pointed to Morgan."She has some bantha jerky if you want some."

*Huh? They all fell asleep? Oh... well that made Jake feel a little better. He smiled nervously, then, when Terra pointed out the bantha jerky, he went over to Morgan's side and sat down by her, accepting some when offered. He chewed on it for a little while, looking around thoughtfully. It was nice and quiet out here, and pretty. He could spend a whole day relaxing here, not that he was going to ask the others to if they wanted to do other things. But what those "other things" could be, he wasn't sure of. He swallowed a mouthful of jerky, then spoke.* So what do we do now? Go back? Find something else to do? *He didn't really notice it, but he didn't feel any pain anymore. Some light fatigue maybe, but they'd been walking a lot, swimming, fighting off rippers, and fleeing for their lives from a rancor; that was forgivable. His major issue had been his chest injury and the risk of reopening it or making it worse, but that fear had been removed, so he was now content to relax and wonder what else the day had in store for him. ... but chest injury or none, he still hoped they stayed out of trouble the rest of the day.*

*And then there was Jake, finally waking up himself and asking how long he was asleep, just like Morgan had. Morgan giggled; he probably thought he was the only one who fell asleep and she almost wanted to tease him, making up some increment of time just to see his reaction, but Terra had done what was probably the right thing right now and assured him that they'd all fallen asleep, then directed him towards Morgan's jerky.
When Jake sat down beside her, Morgan happily offered him some jerky, still chewing on a bit of her own. She looked down at his chest; the wound had been closed, but it seemed like it left behind a scar. A small one, one that would probably fade, but it was interesting to think that now she and her twin shared scars on their chest. Only... Morgan's scars would probably never fade, whereas Jake's would probably fairly quickly. She resisted a sigh, but knew it was selfish to wish she and Jake had a common trait like that. Besides, she didn't know what he'd think of extreme scarring like Morgan's; Morgan actually loved her scars, as she felt they were testaments of her strength, but Jake may or may not have felt the same way.
After a moment, Jake asked what they wanted to do next. Morgan thought about it for a moment, then shrugged.* I dunno. I kinda wanna see more, but we've been through a lot today, so if you two wanna go back, that's okay. What do you think, Terra? *Morgan watched her curiously, wondering what her answer would be. And Morgan truly would understand if either of them wanted to go back, especially after all they'd been through so far. Still, at least none of them could say it wasn't an exciting adventure, even if they cut it short here, and for that, Morgan was thankful.*
