So another writer recently shared with me an extension that you can get for Google Chrome which bypasses the whole photobucket shenanigans that took place. It basically allows all the photos used in profiles and avatar imagines that currently appear as error codes, actually display how they are supposed to. Pretty awesome, right? Here's my question, though, concerning that:
If I were to post it in a thread in the Non-Star Wars board so that everyone else could get the fix without having to reformat every image in the profile,
would I be overstepping into what might be considered Spam?
I just want to make sure I'm in the clear before I take the initiative to go ahead and do it.

I don't have an official answer, but I do have an opinion: I feel like people with Photobucket-hosted avatars should at least update those, especially when you can just upload them directly to ProBoards in your profile settings. Some of us don't like adding/are too lazy to add extensions just to see some pictures on a profile, and not everyone's going to.  |

You're sharing genuinely useful information in a limited way in an appropriate off-topic form. What would be considered spam would be pressuring everyone to download it in a pushy way or posting the link all over the place. |

I would also like to point that even if you get the app, the rest of us are still looking at a picture that says 'upgrade or else'.
